Hello, the internet and welcome to this episode of She got a great trend. And you got your head all the way up it. My name is Jack Albron that over there is Mr. Miles Gray. Now do it in Cantonese. That short show title courtesy of Donna Geek, Herbie on the discord. Shout out to you. DK. DK.
I can't believe we haven't done that. Maybe we have done that. What? Before. She got a great trend. Hey, you know, it's hard to know, hard to know impossible to know. And I would say I would bet my bottom dollar we've never, ever, ever, ever done any such thing on this show. On this show put a lot of time into thinking on the news show, the daily's like guys, not a fucking chance. No way. No way would they be up for such foolishness. I'm back from meetings yesterday, well, missing a TDZ record for meetings. Oh, yeah, yeah, it happens. I'm not a detective. Anyways, this is the episode where you tell you what is trending on this Wednesday, September 30th. One that kind of took it, took its time getting to me, but I was eventually like, all right, I'll bite. What is a muse charm? What is, why do I keep seeing Mark Zuckerberg painfully do a toss on stage?
Did you see his little toss that he did? He's like this little guy and he like tosses it up and like grabs it in like the most unnatural way, but you could just tell that he practiced that shit. Oh, yeah, right, right, right, with his wife. Just like, all right, let me see the video. Would it look like? All right, I got to put it again. I started, started sweating profusely every time it goes in the air. You see the toss? Yeah, it was, I wish he gave it a little more flight, dude. It would have been a little more swaggy, but he definitely just, just enough that it read as a toss. Yeah, but it is, it's just fascinating because, so this is Mark Zuckerberg trying to do his like, oh, yeah, and one more thing, Steve Jobs thing where he's introducing a new product. He's on stage. This has never gone well for it. Yeah, his product, Dave Hughes, are always a fucking disaster in a way that like, yeah, that one where they forget what the product was, but like the internet went down or the
thing just like started melting down and he had to be like, oh, it was like, you know, it was a, they were unveiling one of their AIs where they're just like, you can just take something ingredients you have and then ask you like, how to make a meal and the thing completely shitted out as it was trying to like talk. I mean, again, but it also happens almost every time. Yeah. This one, he's debuting the muse charm and he's trying to, you know, give off charisma. And so he has it in his hand and he's like, this little guy like, tosses it up like, like a confident surgeon, you know, like where he's like about to, you know, put a scalpel or something. Yeah, yeah, he's, if you're really cool, I just remember my, my uncle was like, had open heart surgery. Oh, my uncle. Oh, wow. And he was talking about how he was like very nervous and then this surgeon came into the room and was just, he was like eating an apple and like kept like tossing it to himself in this way. Those like so confident.
He was immediately like, oh, I'm good. Yeah. You know, there, there is a way to successfully execute the confident sort of absently tossing something to yourself. That is very cool. Yeah. Mark Zuckerberg has seen that. Yeah, he has not completely, he has not successfully absorbed it or the ability to do it on stage. It'd be like the same way. Like you probably tried to like light up a cigarette to look cool. I'm the other side's hacking on it. He's like, what's the wrong and yeah, yeah. Yeah. Back off the filter. Anyways, this motherfucker's out there. And so these are all the reasons I was not nervous about this product. I was like, this is going to fuck it up. Meta's AI is supposed to be behind the other AI companies. And this is coming after their attempt to place AI directly on our faces with the smart glasses, which slowly curdled to be known as pervert glasses.
Now I believe that is their official. International. Yeah. International. International. No, which is not. Sometimes, sometimes it's cool to be Mr. Worldwide and be internationally known, but to be internationally known as pervert glasses, not cool. So they are doing what seems like a very transparent, audible, but I don't know if that means it's going to be unsuccessful. They're selling. First of all, they're selling smart glasses without the cameras. I think they just have the AI agent that you can like talk to. Right. Yeah, so you look even weirder. Okay. Cool. Yeah. But anyways, the big news swing came with choreographed little toss where he's introducing the muse charm, which is a little, it's basically AI tomogadji for anybody who's like, you know, a little bit older. You remember tomogadjis. There's a little bit older. Just a little bit older. A little bit older. Not that much older.
It's like a little bit older. A little bit older than 1995. Yeah. But the tech display does seem to fuck up because he's like, and then you put your thumb on this little part and it reads your fingertip. And that's when you can start interacting with it. But then he doesn't start interacting with it even though he has his thumb on the thing. And then he's like, and we're still, we're still coding it out. And so you, but you'll be able to like talk to it and, you know, it'll be able to answer emails, do food shopping for you. But the pitch is clean enough that I feel like even Mark Zuckerberg couldn't fuck it up. It's basically like, what if instead of a thing that goes on your face that makes you look like a pervert, the same product was on a little charm that goes around your neck that looks like big hero six. Like it's just like a cute little guy on a tiny little screen who is, you know, in this guardian article. It says it's really significant that along with the wearable charm, that is also introduced
a new pair of smart glasses with no camera. So again, they're like audible in off the perfect glasses that it says everyone hates cameras and smart glasses. But if the camera is contained in a charm you wear around your neck, it shifts the agency. Suddenly, you're not recording people. It's just a cute little animated avatar looking out on the world. So stupid. They're so fucking desperate. Like again, I don't even think that thing that looks like a smart stopwatch is like the thing humanity's clamoring for right now. Oh God, if only I had a fucking Tom Agache, that could book me a haircut or whatever. Because this is also coming off the news like a week and a half ago when like 404 media was reporting like they're whole like muse AI agent thing was just a bunch of humans in a call center. Yeah. There's always a bunch of humans behind the scenes like trying to correct where the fuck ups of the AI. Yeah. So yeah, great. I mean, I love though that like maybe their solution was like it's not okay.
If it's what's opposite a pervert, cutie, cutie creature thing. And so this is why I'm a little skater because cute stuff like works on people, you know, like they're they so this guardian article like talks about, you know, that there is like cuteness experts and cuteness science that like they're of course importing from Japan. But they, you know, it's very successful. Either it's going to trip people's like, wait, why, you know, distrust for doing something cute. Yeah. Like like the Furby with the face melting off of it where it's like, oh, cute is a fine line. One line between cute and, you know, the end of the world and, you know, the uncanny valley. But I will say like I can see my kids wanting this like I, it feels like a product that
is going to succeed with young people. And also one of the things from the article, they said, well, Dale is not rushing out to buy one. But however, when I'm 80 years old, I'll definitely want one of these things. I want to wear it around my neck always and I want the camera on all the time so it can tell me where I left my glasses. And I was like, fuck man, if they had a product that that was the only thing it did, it was just on and told you where you left. You'd be like, hey, where'd I leave my glasses? Where'd I leave my keys? That would be the price of it. That would be worth the price of the mission on. Oh, yeah. And you would hasten your spiral into senility too. If you completely outsource, just like the most basic memory. That's true. Try it out everybody. Anyways, Muse. Anyways, let's talk the maha summit. We've all got our eyes on the maha summit.
We talked about it in this morning's episode and we're like, you know, it's underway. So we don't know what's going to come out of here. We just, we were looking at some of the speakers that were going to be speaking of one. One guy who was. Yeah. The coach, the coach, a line up list. And there's the one doctor who's not a medical doctor. He just likes that title who literally was saying, here are the actually the benefits of snake oil. Um, and we're like, okay, this is, this is going to be fun. This is going to be fun. A lot of snake oil. Yeah, it hasn't disappointed. Now the first fireside chat happened with JD Vance and RFK and he shared this nugget with the crowd. These are the New York Times. Hello secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who's frequently advised Americans not to trust medical experts said on Tuesday that artificial intelligence can offer patients, quote, a second opinion that is much better informed than any doctor in the country and has the power to free us from medical tyranny. So that just a quick hit. That's, that's what's being talked about right now. I mean, obviously, RFK like everybody in this administration has a ton of money invested
in AI. Um, so it's also right because they've constantly, he's, like HHS is constantly doing stuff trying to integrate AI with our medical system or just medical practices. Um, so yeah, man, or maybe he's just really smart. Maybe it's not because he's invested. Maybe it's because he's really smart and he does know AI is best doctor. He just knows. Yeah. God, that's, he's really, I wonder how successful that it like, are we? Coming off of the curve of from COVID, like we were talking about this in the very early days of COVID where it was like, so here are the things the last time that there was a global pandemic like the, you know, um, the 19 11 plague and it was like, uh, people started hating doctors. They started getting into weird religious stuff. Um, I'm just wondering like, and then you eventually come off of that as a society. Just wondering where we're at on, on that curve. Like our people still being like doctors are, are an op.
Doctors are a conspiracy to the, they're all in on it trying to fuck you over. I mean, like, yeah, cause the healthcare already just feels so predatory that like, I guess you can use that as your way to try and completely disorient people to over the fact that these people actually have expertise. They would, you know, these are some school to do to gain. They have, but they are the face of an industry that is like designed to fuck you over in many ways. So unfortunately, like, yeah, you don't get to see the insurance administrator that's denying your claim. You just hear it from the doctor or someone at the hospital. I'm sorry, but we were not able to, yeah, yeah. That seems bad, Miles. Yeah. Um, hey, speaking of that, yeah, uh, this Cornell, uh, sexual assault fraternity investigation dude, it's, uh, it's real, it's a, it's a fucking hard one to read about. For so many reasons, but one of like the shittiest parts is how the campus police and district
attorney handled this. Like, it wasn't even an actual crime that happened. So I'm sure people have heard of this story. It's been big news the last week. But in 2024, Jane Doe went to campus police at Cornell to report that she had been assaulted while being drugged by a group of seven guys that were part of the Chi-Fi fraternity. And at the time, no charges were filed and the school said their own investigation was consistent with their policies. Um, I'm presumably one of those policies was this was this actually happened telling the accused rapists that they could quote mitigate their conduct by writing essays. That's how they, that's Cornell's way of handling accusations of rapes. Can you? Well, write an essay that you know, a moment. Yeah. That's the thing that we've got a. We're talking about fucking adults here at this point. So what happened was because no charges were initially filed. Uh, the, the Jane Doe recently filed a loss, a civil lawsuit and that has reopened the criminal investigation.
And everything I have read is so fucking disgusting and that the police university DA's office spectacularly fucking failed to properly investigate and didn't even seem remotely interested in justice. Like when you, when you look at sort of what happens and how they talk about it, you're like, oh, again, here, here we have more institutions maintaining like the status quo of like boys will be boys rape culture. Right. And the DA said it didn't prosecute because the victims claims were supposedly very different from what she allegedly told campus police. Um, like her claims in the civil lawsuit were very different from what was told to police in 2024. And they claim that she said she did everything consensually like taking the drugs, even the sex to which most people are like, how is that possible? Okay. She said you don't said that to the police. That's what that's what the DA is saying. Like what the, the thing I got from the police was that she said it was, there's all consensual
and like, I, there's really nothing for us to do here. I was like, you don't go to the police to let them in on how hard you partied the day before. And I was sick of a time you had. You go to the police to report a fucking crime. Right. What is their theory of like what? It's so, it's, it's so bad. Like when you read all of their excuses, it's just a bunch of excuses for not doing anything. And just like throwing their hands up and really just again, not interested in any of this, you know, now this poor woman is like on the receiving end of like the most cynical victim blaming from like host, like all up to hosts on the view, uh, to even like randoms on the internet, you know, obviously just numerous comments on all kinds of articles and social media posts. So now the DA is switching up stories and pointing the finger at the campus police saying that they hid her statement. Um, it's a quote, uh, Tomkins County DA Matthew Van Houton says he never saw the full transcript of her two day interview with campus police. He only saw the results of the investigation, which included a summary in which campus
cops say she told them the encounter with the fraternity members was a voluntary, conscious and consensual. If the DA's version is accurate, uh, it would appear campus police hid the top line from prosecutors. Her claim that she was raped. The DA told CBS news. If she had said those words, we certainly would want to have explored that more. Like I said, that wasn't provided to me. And also it should be known. The DA never asked to even interview Jane Doe. Right. Not interested. Yeah. Just like, uh, I'm sure you guys have it. Did you ask them? Did you ask the guys to write essays? Well, then what, what more can we do? Well, then yeah, it's been properly adjudicated. I'm like, why would the police share information with the DA? If there was no crime, maybe again, because everyone's covering their ass so they can say, I mean, we did do the paper work to move in the right place, but we're just being mum about like, what fucking planet are we on? Uh, and also the, the student journalists, I Cornell deserve a lot of credit to because they did not let this go. Like when they heard about it, like they're hearing about their fellow students being harmed
and continue to report and investigate despite the university giving it the all clear. So I'm sure this is going to, there'll be more finger pointing back and forth. But like one thing people, if you know like anything about campus police, the conflict of interest there is wild. You know what I mean? Like they are not to the camp to the university. Yeah. And so they are not to the police. They also have, they would rather it seem like everything is very buttoned up above board and just very safe. Nothing bad is happening at all. And so you get stuff like this, but yeah, this is the nothing to see here department is what campus police end up being. Right. Well, yeah, shout out to the student journalists and yeah, everybody kept that one going and didn't let them kind of sweep it under the rug. But it's like, yeah, but it's wild that like it takes it unfortunately, we can't even rely on like so like whatever fucking law enforcement even fucking is anymore. Sure. If this is like this shit that happens and it's already, this is like such a consistent pattern with, you know, anything involving sexual assault in this country.
And then like it's just like wild too, because you see just the comments devolve into all kinds of weird bullshit from people just completely like, look what I think they're just, you literally so many people like, well, they're just boys are, but no, stop. Even like sunny hosting on the view was like, well, these boys, let's stop with this. Boys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Little they're, they're picturing children for some reason as they describe it. Yeah. All right. Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. You know those pieces in your closet that you find yourself wearing so much your wife has to tell you to stop because they're quote, turning yellow and developing holes like a treasure map. The feeful turns at mintmobile.com. And we're back. We're back. And the reviews for the Tom Cruise non musical that people suspected was a musical digger. It came out or it's coming out on Friday. The review embargo dropped.
This is from the Birdman guy. And you know, he takes big swing. The reviews here are. Step it. Step it. They are taking big swings. I would not say they're tepid. They are either like scathing. I read it. Teppet or like 90% of them are like. Oh, what a feast or famine. Oh, good. Okay. Yeah. I like when something's that divisive where you got like it's not even like everyone's like like man like that it's people like this is fucking brilliant. Other people like it's fucking stupid. Yeah. Yeah. So like deadline said it's a return to the kind of adventurous films and cinemas groundbreaking error of the 70s. But the critics who hated it like really really don't like it. Yeah. Some claim that the film's most believable character is the animatronic cat. Others called it an endurance test of how long you can listen to men yelling incessantly.
I can listen that so long. And then it was like watching quote the week's worst Saturday night live sketch with an inexplicably large budget and delusions of grandeur. Wow. Not okay. Ar out. Yeah. I'm more intrigued now like now I'm like is it that is it that bad? Because it's going to reveal I'm curious after. Well, I'll have to go see it now. Like what kind of need to probably reveal the world view of some of these credits critics because it's dealing with I thought it's dealing with someone comfortable sort of realities that were facing climate change. Yeah. Even the deadline one that's like it's a return to the open that sentence starts with for me. It is like a return to which when you're adding for me onto the on to the beginning of the sentence where you're saying a good thing about it, you're already recognizing that people are going to fucking hate this thing. Anyways, probably the most damning review came from climate reporter Jake Biddle who
despite the fact that the movie is a satire of how corporate greed is decimating the environment had to stop himself from walking out. And not because of the movie. It's not like he's like he's not like Neil deGrasse Tyson in it where he's like that. You know, this thing is actually technically wrong and like that's why I don't like approve of it. He was just like it's a massive shrieking in Spiddle that will leave even the most climate conscious viewers reaching for an ad bill. Oh, fuck. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Well, maybe they can, you know, maybe that's a those comments were enough for me to be interested. I mean, it does make me intrigued and they are leaning into that in the marketing. Their Warner Brothers is instructing movie goers to ignore the critics and decide for yourself in an ad that has insufferable and magnificent as the two pool quotes. Wow. Same film. Different truth.
There's just something about a company saying decide for yourself that I'm like, I don't know. No, man. It might be an L. I don't decide for yourself, man. Still by the ticket. Decide for yourself. This is pretty much the most ridiculous where like remember they released that trailer where they were like showing horrible reviews and they were like those reviews were for a apocalypse now and the Godfather and then they were a copula is always ahead of his time. Come decide for yourself about megalopolis and then people like those aren't lines from the actual reviews. Oh, yeah. Remember that. Yeah. Yeah. Sure thing boss. I will make you happy. I will make you happy, sir. David Lynch. I feel like it's the only person who's ever like really successfully pulled off of the strategy
when he released Lost Highway and the biggest text on the poster was two thumbs down, Ciscal and Ebert and then underneath that it said two more great reasons to see Lost Highway. Yeah. Ebert did not fuck with David Lynch. He was just like from Jump Street was like this guy's a sicko. I mean Roger, you doth protest too much. I bet you. Well. Hey, he's a great guy. He's got a great head of hair and now he's up there. Now he's up there with the angels with Dolly Parton. And finally just an update on a past story that Caleb Flynn. Yeah. The guy who made the AI song for his mistress. Yep. Had it played in court. Well, he was like mopping his forehead down. Yeah. The jury was all kind of laughing to themselves and like silently mouthing things like I know
right to one another. A decade. Yeah. No surprise here because on Monday, the defense rested, they had their closing arguments. The jury took two hours and they came back with guilty on all nine charges, aggravated murder, murder, felony murder, felonious assault tampering with evidence from the description and the courtroom Flynn shook his head sobbed and wiped his nose as the verdict was read out loud before officers handcuffed him. He faced his life in prison without parole and sentencing is set for the beginning of October. The way the prosecutors laid out the case was prosecutor said Flynn wanted to quote frame a faceless intruder while preserving his relationship with his mistress full custody of his two daughters, his role as a worship leader and his job at his wife's family business. Wow. Yeah. That's what he was going for. He tried to have his murder and eat it too. Wow. Yeah. Like truly like thought he was going to pull off the fucking move of this century.
