A little bit of a smaller group this week but we should have one or two others join us along the way. We've got Stephen Willis from Lockdown Ole Miss. We've got Jimmy Stein from Lockdown, Alabama. Zach Blackery from Lockdown, Auburn should be joining us. I'm Chris Gordy, locked on SEC and man, it is going to be a fun week in the SECs. We get started with some SEC games. I am very happy that Ole Miss will have the better quarterback in the game in this game because of all the emotion going on. You want the crowd, you want the quarterback and then we just worry about the trench

3:04point and things like that. I am very, I'm taking solace in that. I think Keel and Russell has a small sample size but I think Keel and Russell sets his all-time record for passing yards in this game against Florida State. Kevin Jennings threw for nearly 500 yards against Florida State earlier this year. Keel and Russell has a kind of really similar skill set to Kevin Jennings. Obviously Kevin's a four fifth year guy and Keel and just out of high school really. But they're very similar skill wise and planning against his Florida State defense. I think Keel and Russell throws for well over 300 yards setting his personal best. Yeah, I was going to ask about him Jimmy. It was crazy because I predicted last week first half struggles on the road, first SEC environment. We saw that. It picked six of fumble. But he cleaned it up in the second half and man it was like an avalanche coming downhill.

4:04Bama just was clicking on every cylinder. I think when you made the decision to go with the red shirt freshman over the red shirt junior, you decided that you could live with mistakes. I mean, it was it was going to happen. He's a human being. He's not a cyborg. There's going to be freshmen moments. They're not over. They'll be more for Keel and Russell as he grows and matures. But you have to appreciate that it went really badly in the first half. He came out of the second half and was really clean. Alabama kind of turned to the ground game a little bit. Sort of asserted some physical dominance up front. Keel and felt more comfortable at that point. But you have to like for a young play. He bounced back from a rough half and a rough start. There'll be more freshman moments ahead for him. But the reason he won the job is the ceiling. I think I think folks have already seen it. He's got a really high ceiling, a lot of talent there. Tough part of the schedule starts coming up. Maybe not so much this weekend as a 20 point favorite over FSU, but it's South Carolina then Mississippi State, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, LSU.

5:10Those are all in a row. That starts the week after Florida State. Yeah, I think everybody is who brings that in too. I think everybody's surprised at how the young core backs have performed so far. He's on Brandon back to back SEC freshman of the week honors. Keel and Russell look good. Kamario Taylor played a little bit on the back end of last season, but I think we're all impressed with him so far. So, you know, we know the veteran quarterbacks in this league. How highly we thought of those guys, but the young guys seem to be looking pretty good so far. So we'll see as we get into conference plays act before we move the conversation forward as we do. Make a prediction about your team or game this week. Auburn wins the turnover battle against Florida and that decides a close game. All right. I like it. We'll get into that game in just a bit, but guys, some big news coming out Wednesday night. Of course, as we know as we get into SEC play and SEC versus SEC team, we get injury reports.

6:10And we got an injury report on Wednesday night that I think shocked the hell out of everybody as the LSU Ole Miss injury initial report. Again, this is an initial report from Wednesday night. We'll see what happens Thursday or Friday, but the initial report listing LSU quarterback Sam Levit as doubtful, not probable, not questionable, doubtful. Steven, we'll start with you as you're an expert on Lane Kiffin and how he handles things. Is this real? No, no, it's not real. We stopped following participation reports at Ole Miss about three weeks after they started because we realized that it just didn't matter. This is what you can expect, okay? Wednesday night is going to be doubtful. Thursday night is going to be questionable. Friday night is going to be probable and then he's going to sit up and play the game. That is the standard thing. And also, if you look at the other players that are on there, it's no coincidence. It's the big name players like TJ Dott or Yintage, Trudd, Trudd, Trudd, Trudd, and all those

7:13games. Yeah, all those guys. We win. We're playing games with the injury report because that's what they do. That's what Ole Miss did before this. That's what LSU is doing now. Isn't there some kind of punishment though from the SEC to like, you're supposed to be accurate with this? Like, you're not supposed to lie because this is like, this is the whole thing with like betting implications and stuff, right? I think the real trouble is if you lift someone as out and then they play, you got big trouble if that happens. I don't know what ramifications are beyond that. I know, you know, don't do that. I will say that a year, if this is accurate, if it is, an eye-groom, Stephen, I think it's going to, I'm anticipating Sam Levit being moved to at least questionable before Friday. But if it is real, I don't think Lane's got Trinidad Chamble's to pull out of his butt like he did a year ago. And I guess I got to find a better way to say that. But I think, you know, he doesn't have Trinidad Chamble's on his bench at LSU. Yeah, the interesting part is because somebody immediately went to, well, who's the backup?

8:14Well, the backups who saw Long Street, who was a former big time four star five star recruit at USC. A lot of people thought he was going to be the backup and then they brought in a guy kid named Landon Clark from Elon who played a lot of football. But as the season got going, Landon Clark ended up being the backup. He's been the number two through the first couple of games. And so you start to wonder small school guy, Ferris State, Trinidad Chamble's landed Clark Elon could just be the next guy that maybe gets a chance to show. I don't know. I call me crazy. The message boards already saying they think something happened 11 at practice and it's legit. But I guess we'll have to wait and see. But how much does this change the games, even? Well, if Sam Levin's not playing it changes a lot. It really does because the legs of Sam Levin, that is the great equalizer. Now, green and all those guys on the outside is great. Well, as she's going to try to run the ball, but what makes this offense go right now

9:17is Sam Levin running the football breaking whenever it doesn't work and look exactly right. And the offensive line isn't exactly what you need to be. He's athletic enough to get out of trouble. Jimmy and Zach, what do y'all think? Is this real? I think it could be real. I mean, I know Steven has a lot of experience with Lane Kiffin, but it certainly could be real. Players can hurt him practice. It's not crazy that a player would be hurt significantly in a practice, non-contact or otherwise. So I certainly believe it could be real. And if so, it's a major, major game changer. Like I said earlier, it's not like he's going to have a Trinidad Channelist coming off the bench here. And boy, talk about a tough environment to come out cold. I mean, Alabama just had this as past weekend, Keel and Russell's first road environment. And it's conducted. That's not going to compare to what the situation is at Ole Miss. I mean, Ole Miss is going to be an absolute circus on fire for 60 minutes, heck of a way

10:17to come off the bench cold. It would be a massive game changer of true. Yeah, if I had the guest right now, I would say that Sam Levin plays, but I mean, Jimmy, you mentioned a second ago, like this isn't where you troll. Like this isn't where you say, hey, I'm going to play around. But I also don't know what you could do if you say like he is doubtful. Like yeah, he might have been on Wednesday and then he looked, he looked, oh, he was able to walk a lot better on Thursday. Like, I'm not a lawyer, Jimmy, you are. Like I don't know like what the argument against that would be. He's like, yeah, we didn't know. And then Thursday, he looked a lot better. Yeah. I was sick. I was sick on availability report day in law school. So I wasn't there. Yeah, man, that's really, I don't know what this is. That's super unlucky right now. Yeah. Yeah. What are the odds? I think I missed that. I mean, two weeks ago, the SEC Sue's LSU last week, they're talking about kicking them out of the conference. This could be just laying saying FU first availability report SEC. We're going to bleep with you. And you know, I don't know.

11:18I don't know. I will say, I just checked our friends at Fandall. LSU still a one and a half point favorite. So at least right now, the sports books not overreacting to the story. What are maybe, maybe have availability reports. We sorry, Steven, maybe with some of these availability reports, you can just say you could take it or lev it. Oh, Steven, go. There we go. There we go. Wasn't it at three and a half earlier this week? From what I heard last week, it was almost one and a half and then it moved. And as of like Sunday, when it first opened on most of the books, it was LSU minus a point and a half. So that's kind of where it sat for much of the week. I would think they would take it off the board if there's question, if there's a real question about whether he's going to play, it might disappear until there's more clarification. Yeah, I mean, that would swing several points.

12:18If Vegas thought there was a real chance, lev it may not play. I would almost not be at least a touchdown favorite in that scenario. If you knew for sure, it was, it was far. If you knew for sure it was Clark getting the start, I would think Ole Miss would be six or seven point favorite at that point. And also we talked about the pressure being on which team, if Sam Leather's not playing the game, the pressure's all on Ole Miss. Every bit of it is on Ole Miss. That's true. You got to win if you're Ole Miss. And I think Ole Miss sort of has to win anyway. They're at home. They're at home. You know, if you do come up short in this game and you want to be in the playoff, you're probably going to have to make up for it with wins on the road. And in this league, you know, good luck. Yeah. Let's say he does play. Steven, how do you see this one playing out? I think that Ole Miss is going to take a page from the front, first half of the Louisiana Tech game and kind of drop eight from time to time in the past game. Keep their eyes on the backfield. They're going to spine with Santaren Perkins.

13:18That's what they did with Milro earlier on, whenever Ole Miss played. Alabama. I think they're going to try and be extremely disciplined, not necessarily worried about sacking the quarterback, just keeping him from being able to run the ball and making him throw the ball into tight windows. I think that is the game plan defensively. Zach, Jimmy, quickly, you mean you're picked on this one. I think Ole Miss wins this game. I've got a weird feeling about it. I think with it being at home and this being one of the mountain be dramatic, Steven, is this the biggest regular season game in Ole Miss history? Yeah, probably the biggest regular season. Yeah, I know they just gave me that. I know last year they had some big ones, obviously, with playoff implications on the line, but this just seems kind of larger than that. Yeah, I'll pick the team that I think has the better quarterback, and that's turning that chance. Much like Texas, Ohio State last week, I thought Texas would win because I felt Texas had to win or Ohio State would like to win. Texas had to win.

14:19Ole Miss has to win this game. If they want to make the playoff, if they want to erase the lane, kiffon story, I think there's a lot of half to on Ole Miss's part, a lot of walk to on LSU's part, so Ole Miss wins it home. I think LSU has to win this too. I mean, with LSU's schedule and with them kind of being playoff or bust, if they were to lose this weekend, it makes their path to the playoff super, super difficult. Oh, so true. So true. Yeah, if you win or lose, and win or lose, the game at Florida the next week or the game against Texas A&M becomes massive for whoever loses this game. Yeah, and keep in mind, Ole Miss is going to lose on Halloween too, so that's something we just got to think about in the future. There we go. I cannot wait for that. Let's even for sure. Let's get into it. The other big game, Sarah United, it's 2-0 Florida at 2-0 Auburn. It is the matchup of Johnson, Role versus Alex Golis, the two guys that were basically on everybody's higher list. This offseason, in fact, at one point. I think some role was going to be the Auburn coach at one point. Golis was going to be the Arkansas coach, and it all worked out differently. But Zach, what's the vibe there in Auburn, Alabama for this one? Oh, man, so much like just eager, eagerness, I guess, throughout campus and throughout this city and throughout this fan base. I mean, we've been talking about this matchup since the SEC schedule dropped. I don't know if the SEC did it on purpose or not.

19:30I don't know if I want to give them the credit. As soon as the schedule dropped and we realized, oh my goodness, John Summeral and Alex Golis is SEC debut. It's against each other. Incredible storylines with obviously, I thought Summeral was going to be Auburn's head coach. And it shows on it for like a month before, you know, Lane Kiffin went to LSU. I think Florida thought they were going to get them. So they pivoted. But like, these two guys are going to be tied to each other, whether that's fair or not. And I think, you know, whoever the better hire is probably not super fair, but it's going to be tied to this game in the court of public opinion, at least in the short term. It's going to be incredible. All the storylines, you know, Auburn loses a receiver to Florida. You know, Florida gets the coach. Then they pivot and get goal. As you know, like, I think both are super great bits of where they are now currently. But man, just the excitement of both fan bases. And we've been talking smack about this literally for like the last nine months.

20:31It's a schedule drop. So yeah, we're ready to go. Yeah, I'm ready for John Summeral to experience the Indian burial ground that is Jardin Hare Stadium at night time. Come on, Steven. Yeah. I can't wait to see the season. Absolutely. It's Auburn. All the whole nine yards, weird stuff happens there. He is probably going to learn the hard way about playing at night in Auburn. Yeah, it is a tough, tough opener in the SEC for Florida. Gosh, this game could go either way. I really felt like when I was making the pick, I literally felt like I should be flipping a coin. I think this could go either way. I like Florida's skill guys in this game. They're running back in receivers. But I think what's going to make the difference to thing Auburn playing at home, I think Auburn might be a little better defensively. I mean, maybe a little better. And that makes the difference. I'm picking Auburn to win the game. I think it's going to be tight. I think it's going to be sort of low scoring. But I like Auburn. I picked Ole Miss to win at home. I think Auburn holds serve at home, too.

21:32Yeah, I think that certainly matters. I think the roster is from top to bottom. Florida probably has a slight edge from top to bottom. But I think when you look at where it's being played, and if the rosters are close, you look at quarterback. And Aaron Filo could be great genuinely. He could end up being outstanding. I'm going to take Byram at home instead of Filo playing his first real massive road game. Right. You talk about a hypothetical first start in Oxford this weekend for Ella. She was back up if stuff goes wrong. Filo is making his first SEC start at Jorn here stadium. And that fan base is ready to rock and roll. And also the X factor in this game that could throw everything out of proportion is Jaden Ball. Auburn has to stop him because if he gets going, everything works for that buster Faulkner offense. Yeah. And so it's going to be imperative on Auburn and those guys. It's really good defensive unit.

22:32They're really good at what they do, but they're going to have to figure out what to stop ball. DJ Durkins allowed 100 yard rushing game to an opposing running back since his time at Auburn. It was levee on Moss last year. So we'll see if Jaden bought him to be the second one or not. Two weeks into the season, ball not only leads the SEC in rushing. He's fourth in the country. They're two weeks. Now it's worth noting Florida played FA you in Campbell. A can of soup as well. This is kind of the week where we really start to figure out who's who. I mean, you know, Oklahoma looks great in week one. They go get posted them out there. Michigan we thought, you know, we realized, hey, maybe Mateer's not all we thought he was going to be. So this is prove it week for a lot of teams that have not really been tested yet to go show their medal as we get to SEC play here. This is going to be really interesting. So who were all the picks? Zach, you're going Auburn, Jimmy. You went Auburn. Stephen, how are you going? I'm Auburn. I guess I'll have to take the gators. I know it took Auburn earlier this week. Zach, but we can never have a clean sweep. That never, that never works out.

23:32Which by the way, last week for it is uniform that Denver Broncos are going to sue, but they looked absolutely fired. I tell you what, if a uniform looked like LSU were all missed, they'd sue somebody. That's for sure. You dang right. Zach, I'll tell you this. Do not kick the ball to Vernal Brown. That will be a key in this one. Goodness gracious. Yeah, yeah. The kickoff slash punting, really more so the punting game has been interesting for Auburn. So that is, that should be a concern for sure. All right, we've got a few other sexy games happening this weekend in the SEC one return. We'll get into a few of those as the squad show rolls on. 26:38Hey, let's get into some of the games this weekend as we talk about the two biggest ones. But how about one? It's a little sneaky. Good. And that's Mississippi state at South Carolina. It's the afternoon game on Saturday. Two really go. What do you call this game sexy a second ago? It's it's a little. You said we had a few sexy ones and I pulled up the schedule and I'm like where is he going with this? Mario Taylor. Lennora sellers. We got the rising star in Camario. We got the redemption story. Lennora's right two years ago. Lennora's is awesome. Last year not so much. This year so far he looks good. South Carolina running the football. I think they're what top five in the country and rushing right now. Where you guys lean in this was Jeff Levy and Camario Taylor going to go to three and hours at Lennora sellers. I feel like sellers and sellers in Camario a little bit like the Spider-Man meme, you know, pointing at each other like who's which one of us is which one of us is the real Spider-Man. Camario certainly looks like it out of the gate. Another coin flip game for me Ole Miss and an LSU assuming Levy's healthy Auburn, Florida.

27:42I think this is the third coin flip game. I can see anything happening here. I'm going to lean to the home team. I think South Carolina's roster is a little better, a little deeper playing at home. Let me tell you, it's hard to watch Camario Taylor play right now and imagine anything going wrong for Mississippi State. Yeah, and it's ironic that Jeff Levy's on one side and Kendall Briles is on the other. It's basically the same offense. So if you're fan of the old Baylor stuff from the RG3 timeline, this is going to be your game. I think this has a chance to be an elite shootout to where it's like 45 to 42. It just gets crazy. It's going to come down to turnovers and who gets the big stop and special teams play as always. I'm going to lean with the home team as well though. Is South Carolina favorite in this? Yeah, like three and a half. Yeah, the home team. Yeah, I mean, the last week was really the first time I sat down and really like made

28:45it, I want to watch some Camario Taylor and gosh, it's captivating stuff for sure. We've seen Lenora's do it. It's been a little too long since he's played like that. I do think against the Mississippi State defense, he should be able to get some of that going. But I think I'm picking Camario Taylor. I feel like there's something special about that guy. Yeah, I think I'm going to stick with South Carolina home team, but man, we'd love this one to be a shootout and would be highly entertaining. Let's run through these last couple sticking in the SEC. We can tucky at A&M. This one feels interesting just because everyone's going to ride off Kentucky because of how they lost and forget that midway through the third quarter, Jimmy, they were in the game with Alabama. If they can fix their mistakes, it can even, she can lead some scoring drives this week, which I think he will. A&M is, Marcel Reed's look good, not great so far. So maybe Kentucky can hang around in this one. What's that you guys? Kentucky is a little scary because Alabama played him like 43 times and one 41 of the 43 or

29:48some ridiculous number like that, but the point I was making, which proved out in the first half, you're not playing it. In those 43 games, Alabama had played a team that was recruited to and played for Kentucky. Now when you play Kentucky, you're playing Notre Dame's quarterback, Texas's Renaback, Oklahoma's Renaback, LSU's water seeker. The entire offensive line came from Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee. You're not playing Kentucky. You're playing in a Malgum of all these guys from someplace else. They're dangerous. Kentucky's a better player than what he looked like in the second half. That said, A&M at home a week after Kentucky put a lot of emotion and flasks into the Alabama game. I like A&M pretty comfortably here, but Kentucky, Kentucky will be dangerous all season long. I think I think once Alabama kind of pivoted to, hey, all right, we're going to run it because we've got, you know, better athletes and the trenches than Kentucky. I think A&M is going to go in with the same mindset.

30:49Has Marcel Reed been as good as we've seen him at other moments? No, but I think in this type of matchup, I don't know if you need him to be. Just uses legs, use your stable of backs. I think A&M runs the ball pretty effectively on Kentucky on Saturday. I think that Kentucky's first 22 is as good as anybody in the league, but after that, there's a big drop off. I think that I attribute the Alabama game to that a little bit too. Whenever the two's got in there, they were able to take advantage of it. Texas A&M, they've got depth pretty much everywhere. They haven't looked great, but defensively, they've looked really good. And Kenny Menchie could end up throwing the ball to the other team. I think Texas A&M right now, in my head, they're kind of a sneaky playoff level team because this defense, I think, is really good. Give me the Aggies in this game. A&M, by the way, they weren't a dog fight with Arizona State for about two and a half three quarters and then pulled away. So kind of similar to what Alabama and Kentucky were in a week ago.

31:54We won't spend a ton on this, but Georgia had Arkansas. We feel bad for our guide, John neighbors. Arkansas, it wasn't tobacco like you taught last week. And Georgia's looked incredible, even though they haven't really been tested yet with Western Kentucky Tennessee State. That said, Gunner Stockton leads the SEC with eight touchdown passes for in completions for Gunner Stockton so far. They've run the football at will. I think this is ugly for Arkansas and right, so we're going to be, he talked about, don't write his obituary yet. We may be doing a rough draft of his obituary already after this one. But for Georgia, this is the typical game that ends up 24 to 17. And then you like what had this has all of those marks to Georgia. They look great. Everything's great, but they watched that Auburn game or that Arkansas game against Utah, too. So you're going to go to Fayetteville at 11 o'clock in the morning and you're just going to be expected to figure it out. I think Georgia's going to win the game.

32:54I think Georgia has the much better team. I just think there's a chance that this game is a lot closer than we're giving everybody credit. So basically with the misleases stuff and everything going on in Arkansas, I think there might be a little bit of a bounce back this week. Won't be enough, but there will be. Y'all may have already said this. I had to zone out. I had to answer something real quick, but this was the game where Arkansas's AD was like, yeah, we're playing too late in Utah. And then we've got to turn around the next week because we've got an early game against Georgia. It's not good for the two athletes. So if Arkansas does lose this game, that's the only reason why. Yes. 100. Then again, they didn't show up in Utah. So maybe they were waiting to show up in this one. That might be. Yeah, to pick one. I'm sure they'd rather have this one. This feels like this feels and looks like Georgia wins by a million. And that's what this looks and feels like. But think of that before you, you know, before you sprint to Fandall, remember that they

33:55call it gambling, not winning. This feels like a million to nothing. Like Steven said, Georgia has struggled on the road in an initial SEC openers under Kirby, something close here. And I mean, by 30 to 17, that shouldn't that shouldn't surprise us though it does feel like Georgia about 200,000 points. Yeah. And by the way, KJ Jackson struggled early in this one. AJ Hill came in late. The Memphis quarterback and let him on a scoring drive. That's better. So we'll see if they make a quarterback change at all. That's that's that's Montgomery legend KJ Jackson. 34:58there's no Florida State fans, even even excited about this game. All they really care about is, you know, they fire the AD on Monday. They all we all know what's going to happen in Norville at some point. That seems to be what Florida State fans are talking about. Not this game yet. They won this game a year ago at home. But Alabama left Kentucky. I think feeling pretty good about themselves. I think they're developing a lot of confidence in this run game. I expect Alabama not so much revenge. It's a new team. It's a new year. Kiel and Russell didn't play in the game a year ago. But I do think Alabama wins this game fairly comfortably in part because I think Florida State's minds are elsewhere. They've come come a long way since Bobby Bowden, the sidelines of the FSU. I think with the momentum that Alabama got at the second half of the Kentucky game and the momentum that Florida State currently has as a program, I think put those together and it could get pretty toxic and brought Danny and it could be very bad for the seminals.

36:03Exactly. Zach's allergic to the very fact that Alabama could win a football game. Yeah. No, I'm sneezing a lot. They win a lot of football games. No, just just to be the Auburn guy to point this out. I do think Alabama will win on Saturday. I think they'll win convincingly. But Ashton Daniels did make the iron ball interesting last year. Does he have another good showing its Alabama in him? I don't know. We'll see. But worth noting is the Auburn guy in the room. Ashton keeps getting the coaches fired though. Yeah. We did it two years ago. True. Great. Two years in a row with the coaches. I don't think the guy he played for at Stanford's area either. I read a tweet that should Florida State consider coach prime. Maybe not as sexy of a pick as it might have been two years ago when things are going better up the Colorado. But we'll see on that. Coach. Coach prime right now. He's an upgrade over Mike Norville. I just I truly believe. Oh, I think him. I think him at FSU could be fun.

That would be bad news for Florida and Georgia. Florida State is like recruiting at a very high level because South Georgia. I mean, I have to think the Florida State would kind of take over that area. He had a lot of money to play with at Colorado when he got there. And you know, they did away with their collective randomly out of nowhere. Yeah. That put roster doesn't look expensive to me right now compared to SEC schools. I'm waiting expensive.
