2:20Can I just share my heart with you for a second? That song describes the heart posture and the perspective. You can't just start with that song. I realize that. You can be a believer.

3:31You can even love Jesus. But the words of that song describe another level. That tests and tries the heart. Because man looks at the outward appearance. God looks at the heart and God honors and rewards us according to the integrity of our heart. So God is a heart inspector. And since God is a heart inspector, we have to become heart inspectors. In other words, it is always prudent to look at what God is looking at.

4:32Because no one knows what's in your heart but you and God. And I might add that sometimes you don't even know what's in your heart. Because the prophet Jeremiah brilliantly articulated the fact that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. He says the heart is deceitful. Who is the heart deceiving? It's not that you're deceitful. It deceives you. So you think you might think you are where you need to be. And Proverbs the wives King Solomon said, all of man's ways are clean in his own eyes but the Lord tests the heart. And I'm going to say something. And I don't know how we're going to flow today. I just know it's going to be God. The reason why I was overwhelmed is because the grace that God bestowed upon me to maintain a pure heart built this church.

5:41And right now it's full in here. The parking lot is full. And there's a line down the street to get in right now. I told him get as many people in his possible. I don't let the fire is pinnacle Sunday. We we supposed to have fire anyway. But in particular to younger pastors what you must protect is your heart because it is deceitful. And the only way to know that you're getting it right is to lay it down. I can't tell you. And this is important because something happened in the room as they kept singing that song. I watched it happen first. It was like, okay, when it got, when it got, you know, it's like, okay, it's a cool song.

6:46But in the lyrics and the words and the words start to reckon us. Something started happening. That is the heart posture that gives God permission to give you the unlimited yes. There's this thing in scripture called the key of David. The key of David. I'll come back to David. It's the key of David. God says behold, I'm going to give you the key of David. And you will be able to open doors that no man can shut. Come on. And you'll be able to shut doors that no man can open. This is what God will do for you. God will open doors that.

7:57I didn't bow the knee to get influence. I remember I was four years into the ministry and the ministry started growing and it started getting very, very popular in the industry at a time where there were a lot of churches here and they just a couple. Two really us and Oasis. I think Irwin was doing this thing too. But just a few amongst this huge territory. And I was starting to get a little popular because our program was on the radio. My preaching was on the radio on this popular Christian radio station and people started calling and coming to the church. And I remember this encounter I had with the Lord and it went something like this. Hey, to read. Get a little popular. Got a little popularity on you. And this was the time of great churches and great men and women of God doing great things and flying just doing their things, just prospering, which ain't not wrong with it. Right. It's not a judgment. But just imagine a young.

9:14Aggressive ambitious my background is business. So I'm a go getter. On the quote unquote come up. And God comes to me and he doesn't say I'm doing anything wrong per se, but he says, Hey, man, you know, you. I can't even blame the blame. I can't blame. I was in my childhood. Shut me up to. Think I'll say, why don't you watch it kind of like just water down your messages a little bit. It's God. So I just watered down and just have a very kind of a basic message of just God's goodness.

13:37And that's it. And just keep it basic. And he said, and your church is going to really grow. He said, and your church is going to prosper. He said, and you will prosper too. And you'll kind of be like one of those guys. Now, I'm outside the 2020, but you got to remember I'm a young preacher. I'm the quote unquote hot new preacher. I'm taking Hollywood industry people small and greater come into the church. I'm moving in those types of circles. And God comes to me and says, hey, you doing all right. Yeah, you can you can water your message now. And it'll be a celebration mess. Oh, here's nothing. You said the people can say it'll be a sound basic salvation. People can say. And you will be one of those guys. And something felt wrong about the proposition.

14:43I couldn't put my finger on it because let's do the math. People get saved. You're in it for that. The church will grow. Who doesn't want their church to grow? The church will prosper. Who doesn't want their church to prosper? Be impactful and effective. Who doesn't want to prosper personally? There's something wrong with it. Felt it. Because me and God been been boys for a long time. That's how I was nine years old, even though I was crazy. He still loved me. So it begged the question because when you have a real relationship, you ask real questions. And I said, God, or what? Or what? I see this proposition. What's the alternative? He said, well, you can do it the hard way. He said, and you can say only what I tell you to say.

15:49Thank you. He said, you be my prophet. You be my prophetic voice. And your ministry will not be governed by the people in their appetites. But it will be governed by what I give you to say. And I will give you the tongue of the learn. And I will teach you how to say it. And I'll give you grace. But you will say you will be my prophet. And then he says, oh, and by the way, it's going to be hard. He said, and it's going to be an uphill journey. It's going to be hard. Come on. It's going to be running canyon. Come on, somebody. And not the easy side of running canyon. Come on, Ella, you know what I'm talking about? The bottom side, not the easy side. Up the off the trail where you wheezing by the time you get to the top. Y'all know what I'm talking about. Said it's going to be hard. He said, and what says, he said, and people are going to leave you.

16:55No, we'll talk about options. And he said, oh, there's one more detail about that second path. He said, but I will be with you. So I had to surrender my wants, my selfish ambition. I had to surrender it because God can't move when you're blinded by what you want. Because there will be a conflict oftentimes between what you want and what God wants. And God won't fight you. He will just give you what you want and you will end up with less. And so I said, God, I said, you got me with that last thing. And you said, I'll be with you. And at every level, I've laid it down. At every level of influence, I've laid it down. And what blew me away is I made that choice. And I kept making that choice. And by the way, you don't make that choice just one time. And that's it.

18:08Every level, I have to surrender. You hear what I'm saying? Every level, I have to say, God, it's yours, whatever you want. I got to lay it down. I got to surrender it all over again. But let me tell you this, that is the best way to do the God thing. If you don't do it like that, you're going to be frustrated because you're going to have a sense of promise. And you're going to have a word of promise, but you can't access the greatness that God is promising because you haven't gotten low enough to experience it. You haven't laid it all down because this thing is for real. Watch this. If you want to be great, God can't make you great. Don't play with me. If you're trying to be great, watch this. You will make yourself great and you'll be capped. But if you say, God, you are my everything. If the highest place I ever reach is your feet. I have done it. All greatness is when we live at the feet.

19:33When we live there and let me tell you something, he said, you chose well by choosing the hard route. He said, and I'm going to give you all those other things anyway. Are you hearing the words that are coming out of my mouth? And yes, did it take time? Absolutely. And yes, did people leave me? Absolutely. And yes, was it Ragnan Canyon, the rough side of Ragnan Canyon? Absolutely. But as he taken me from glory to glory to glory to glory in every season, 20 years in, people are still lined up. There's some people in this room and we got a journey ahead of us today. But there's some people in this room and I hear God saying, down is the way up. And I don't know who this is for. But down is the way up. You're not low enough. You're not low enough. I hear God saying, you low, but you're not low enough.

20:43Will you lay everything down? Can you really say you are not everything? Can you really say the one thing that I desire that will I seek after that I might dwell? So, you know the story Pentecost after Jesus was raised from the dead, and he spends 40 days, and you can do you, be sitting with him, but maybe not for just give me a second.

25:07We'll get into what we're going to do. He ministered to them for 40 days after he was raised from the dead. Then he tells them, he says, look, I've got to go to the Father, but go wait in Jerusalem. Don't even try to do anything. Just go wait in Jerusalem, Terry in Jerusalem until you receive the promise of the Father. Then he takes off. It's gone. The disciples at about 120 of them, they go into the upper room as it's called, and they were there for 10 days, and the spirit fell. In those 10 days, I wonder what it was like. It had to have been 10 days of some sort of spiritual preparation. And what I've learned about spiritual preparation, spiritual preparation is not washing yourself clean, not, you know, taking a bath, although that can be an outer expression for whatever, but that's not spiritual preparation.

26:13Spiritual preparation is the preparation of the heart. Come on. So they were up there, Kyle, they were up there in the upper room for 10 days. And it says, after those 10 days, it says, when the day of Pentecost had fully come, watch this, they were of one heart, and one mind, meaning that they might have been in different places when they walked into the room and they said, they walked into the room initially. And it took 10 days. Maybe they were singing, God, you are my everything. And maybe when they first started singing it, everybody was on it, or maybe Peter just got it, because Peter, you know me, you know, good old Peter. Or maybe it was one of the ladies, right? Maybe only two of them were saying, God, you are my everything from the place of true surrender, sold out, but sometimes God won't move until everybody gets it.

27:21And then it says, after those 10 days happened, that process of preparation, they were in alignment, they were ready. And the brilliant strategic timing of God is that those 10 days coincided with the day of Pentecost, and the spirit fell, and their lives were changed, and the lives of those that were around them. And I felt like, I felt like, and this is why I gave them grace. And the Lord was over at 15 minutes before he was over, according to our clock. But as they continued to worship, I saw hearts being prepared. Something was happening in the atmosphere to bring us into what I believe is our own little Pentecostal moment. And that is a Pentecostal moment.

28:24A Pentecostal moment is when we get aligned, because we got our hearts right. And we let go of some things, I saw brothers and sisters crying all over the room, and we got our hearts right. And we got ready, for our verse 16, the preparation 16, and one or three-read your whole Bible, you'll find a 16-in-one. It says, the preparation of the heart belongs to man, that Hebrew word literally means the proper arrangement of the heart. Your job and my job, God can't do this. Your job and my job is to prepare our hearts. It's to do the hard work that leads you to the place of surrender. That's our job. That belongs to man. And then it says in that same passage, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. In other words, when I prepare my heart, God will speak and do.

29:25In other words, the word will come to me when I prepare my heart. Alright, so we got to figure out how we're going to do this, because we're going to do it. It's Pentecost Sunday, we didn't plan this. I'll be honest with you, I should be a lot more spiritual than figuring out yesterday that Sunday was Pentecost Sunday. I should be a much better pastor than that, but that's when I found out. And don't judge me, because somebody out didn't know I just said it. But on this particular Sunday, we see a lot of unusual things. S.E.U. worship is here with us. We've got some of our music ministers from Dallas and those who serve us globally when we go around the country and world, they're here, which is unusual.

30:32Mixed in with our weekend and week out people. Past Siserra and I rarely get a chance to minister in L.A. together, because we're holding down Dallas N.L.A. God is up to something. So, I feel like we should share on the level of the grace that we feel what God has given to us to share. And then I think we need to come back to this altar. But then as a part of me, I want to be sensitive to the Lord and wonder if we don't need to leave the altar. But if we just need to stay at the altar and let Pentecost happen to us, give me a minute. Just let me meditate for a minute. I'll figure it out.

31:32I don't want to get this wrong, because Pentecost Sunday is the wrong Sunday to get it wrong because it's about the Holy Spirit. So, will you be patient with us for a second? I think we should sing as a choir. You are my ex-wife. You are my ex-wife.

32:35You are my ex-wife. You are my ex-wife. I've got good news. The Lord is moving me towards an altar call. The good news is the word was released this morning. I said, that can be your food for later today. But God is touching you. And I don't want to mess with that. I don't mess with that. I've been doing this thing long enough to know that God can do more with His beloved than we could ever do.

33:41I want to extend the invitation. I want to spend a few minutes at this altar. And when we were talking about that level of surrender, like giving God your all, that pricked the hearts of many in here. And if that's you, I want you to move to this altar right now. This is Pentecost. And I can tell you this is the most awkward thing because we got word. We got word. We got word. But God is the word. And we love you too much to check the sermon box off. And we feel like the greatest thing that God can do for you is what He's going to do here at the altar.

34:41So we're going to just listen and we're going to prophesy. Because it's what God is doing in you. We didn't have anything to do with it. God drew you. And He's doing something in you and the work that God is doing in you is going to change everything. They used to quote that scripture. You can get as close as you can. You can come down to size as everyone. I used to hear that passage Psalm 27 and 4. The one thing that I desired that while I seek after that, I used to just say it. And then in 2001, something happened to me. And it was no longer just words that I said, God, I'm going to be honest, man.

37:45I'm talking about how much they love God. I love you so much and it would be in tears. I couldn't relate. I ain't going to lie. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Like, they'd be worshipping and their arms would be lifted up and their eyes are closed and they are having a real connection. And I wanted it but if I was honest, I didn't have it. So I would just fake it and I would just kind of just close my eyes. And I was saved. And I love Jesus. But there was another level. And I can't tell you when it happened. He was just like a suddenly. And I believe with all my heart, as I'm standing here, my name is Torrey Roberts. I'm telling you God is working as suddenly and as an inside job, as in your heart, as happening in your heart. And it's going to change everything and you thought your problems were external.

38:56It says keep your heart with all diligence for out of it. And it's going to be a great deal of time. I don't know when it happened. I know the year that it happened and the month. It was December of 2001. I don't know if I was in a service and I don't think I was. Somehow, it clicked that the very best that life had to offer was found in one place and one place alone. And this is a revelation of the heart. And it changed everything. That's when I guess the term can be, that's when I really sold out. And I walked away from Corp in America.

39:58It was ridiculous. I walked away from everything. Maybe that is what it was like when Jesus walked the earth and He just said follow me and boom, they dropped everything and they followed Him. It seems crazy until it doesn't. What happened to me? And that becomes the measuring stick by which I judge where I am in God. The one thing that I desire is you. In other words, God, all of my spiritual stock, all of my mental stock, my emotional stock, all of the stock, the stock of my life, not some all.

41:04I invest it in God. It doesn't mean that I don't love my family because I do. But this is different. Because we're not going to die together. We're not going to go see Jesus together. We don't have this is not our relationship with God. It's not this. It's this. And is that? But I'm realizing that we can posture ourselves, but only God can bring you to that revelation. And that's when everything started for me. And that's when I got the key. God needs to know that He really, really has you. That you will walk away from whatever you need to walk away from.

42:05That you will walk away from people, things, careers, circumstances, situations. That you will put nothing before Him. That's when this walk begins. That's why the Bible says that's why Jesus says, blessed are those who mourn. For they shall be comforted. What does that mean? You only mourn something that dies. And in this life, you have to let things die in order to live in Him. And you've got to be willing to mourn. You understand? You've got to be willing to mourn the loss of things that are not tethered to your destiny. And sometimes we try to drag things, people, situations, even regions into our destiny. And God says, no, I need a servant who will say the one thing that I desire.

43:16I have reduced my pursuit in life from many things to one thing. And it's Him. See, this is a type of hard word that when Jesus spoke it, some of the disciples went away sad. The rich young ruler was one of them. What shall I do in a heritage turn alive? And Jesus is a master. Jesus said, what need you do these things? He said, oh, hallelujah, thank you, Jesus. I do all those things. Jesus said, but watch this. He said, one thing. He uses that. He said, one thing thou lackest, one thing you lack. He says, sell everything you have. And give it to the poor and follow me. The rich young ruler, boom. Watch this. He goes away sad. You are never sad when you make the right decision.

44:19He knew he was making the wrong decision because his money had him. Here is the catch, though. Jesus later explains to Peter who had left his fishing business. He was an entrepreneur who left his fishing business to follow Jesus. Peter was upset at, whoa, he started, wow, the rich young ruler walked away and he kept his money. He says, who then shall inherit a turn alive? And Jesus says, Peter, come here. I want you to listen to this very carefully. He says, there is no one who has left houses and lands and mother and brothers, all these sort of things who will not receive 100 fold of what they gave up. And in this life and afterwards eternal life, God was trying to multiply the rich young ruler. But he couldn't because he wouldn't make God his one thing.

45:22I think that's what's happening here right now. See, we can impart that. I met Sarah, is me and God. God told me, don't date. And I was like, don't date. Me and you, we're going to rock together. You got a book coming out, first book, go write your book, traveling, preaching, doing that, doing stuff in entertainment, do that. And just let it be me and you. And so everybody that was just kind of like a little, is it a situation? I mean, what, no freaky deakie. I don't like that. But there was, you know, there was, okay, come on, stay in the ghost. Stay in the ghost. Point that I'm making. As I had to walk away from all that, and I got with God, watch this, and I got comfortable with God.

46:24And then she appears. So check this out. I was so comfortable in God that, like I fell in love with her on our first date. And I got home and I quit her in my heart. Let me tell you why. Because God and I had this thing. And it was, don't date, just rock with me until I do something different. So it ended before it even really started. Because I said, God, this is too powerful to not be divine, meaning or spiritual, meaning that either this is you or the devil. And just to make sure I'm going to end it before it starts in my heart. Until you speak to me and you tell me this is you. And by morning, thank Jesus.

47:24He spoke to me and told me not only that this was you, this is my wife. Here is what I'm saying. I don't think that there is another way. So there's some people you're going to have to let go of some things. And some of it came to mind. I already saw some of you grieving already because you know what you got to do. But there's a grace in this place right now. I'm going to shut up and my wife say some words and pray over you. But there's a grace in this house right now. For you to truly say, God, you are my everything. And as you say it, there's a deliverance that's going to happen. Sometimes you've got to say, they say fake it to you, make it. No, sometimes you've got to say it to you, make it. Because right now there might be some things that have you. A relationship might have you. Some decision, some situation might have you. And you know it. Wow.

48:25Sold ties need to break. I sense that. I feel that real strong in here. You know you need to go. But you can't. Your mind is telling you what to do. But there's some spiritual connection. 51:30Man, I feel it. Some of you love what you're using to Medicaid yourself. Yeah. Some of you love love sex outside of the context of the person that God has for you. The person that God has for you. The person that God is bringing you into covenant with. Some of you are like I was addicted to it because of what happened to me when I was 12 years old. I was a vulnerable young girl took me in my grandma's garage and had her away with me. And I was gone ever since from 12 to 26. Couldn't say no. And before my breakthrough came, I loved it. So I could say take it but in my heart it was keep it.

52:31Come on man, can we have real? Come on, it's been a cause Sunday. God's going to break something in here. Because there's just a certain posture, a certain position, a certain alignment you have to have for your future. If there's something that's got you, you know it's got you get down here. If you have to get close, I don't care if you have to hop over a chair to get there, get close or stand up or acknowledge it. We can just do something if you're watching online. I haven't forgotten about you. This is for you too. Just say it's me because God's going to break, I rush. God's going to break something. We can talk about the blessing of God. We can talk about the inheritance which we did. We can talk about all that that's wonderful. But I'm telling you this is what God is doing. After this, go back and listen to that. Be on the podcast. Be all over YouTube. Clips, you'll have it. You will not miss the word. Thank God for technology. But I think I know you needed this moment before you can really extract all of the anointing from that moment.

53:33And I love you too much to check off a box. What's you hearing babe? I don't know that I can add anything to what has already been such a rich environment. I do know that when I was praying and I was just asking God about what I can say. Two things came to me which is establishing, which we talked about earlier, and how God really desires to establish us in this right here to be established with this heart posture. That it changes everything. But before in between services when I was praying, I don't know who it's for or why because I didn't even get to say the message. But God was talking to me about protecting the anointing. And what is required to protect the anointing? To see properly what God has given us first as an anointing.

54:35That this is not just a gift, that it's not just a talent, that this is an anointing on your life. This isn't an anointing meant to destroy strongholds, an anointing meant to break generational curse. This doesn't even belong to you God. It allowed you to borrow His anointing to shake things up in the earth. And when I was asking God about just protecting the anointing, God told me they need to know that they've got to protect the anointing. This heart posture protects the anointing. But then I was studying David and like I said, I thought it would be a part of the message. And I was asking God how did David protect his anointing? And God just showed me he kept pouring it. That he poured it when it was under fire. That he poured it when he didn't know whether or not it would be affirmed in the environment he was in. Sometimes we try to protect the anointing by preserving it, thinking that when I get there, then I'll allow it to flow.

55:37But I felt like God was saying that we need to let it pour no matter where we are. That's how we protected it. Because the anointing that God placed inside of you has to live outside of you. It's not meant to just stay within you. And when it begins to live outside of you, you will have the proper honor required to protect the anointing. When you see all that God is placed inside of you, living outside of you, as long as it's in your mind, it feels optional. But when you see it outside of you, then you will make the commitment required to protect that anointing. And so I believe that this is all God just flowing and who we need to be established in so that we can allow the anointing of God to flow through us. That's beautiful. All right. This is the moment. This is the moment. I want you to think about and gather in your spirit, gather in your mind what you're laying down.

56:44Our soul ties for sure. And I'm excited to break it. You want to see that the challenge with the soul tie is because there's duality within you. You make a decision but you're tied to somebody else. So there is a different thing in you. You're not whole to make a whole decision because you've got somebody else connected with you because of the act that brought you to together. And sometimes, why is this? Sometimes it didn't even happen through sex. It happened through an emotional connection that brought you openness. Did you know intimacy doesn't require sex? Oh man, I don't require sex. It requires a certain type of stimulation that opens you and it opens you to the point that you receive the energy and the spirit of that individual.

57:54Now you're connected. Now you guys even touch each other but you're thinking about each other. I want to get it all. So I want you to consider right now what's keeping you from saying, God, you are my everything. What is sharing space with God in your life? And we are going to leave it at this altar on Pentecost Sunday. They walked out of that up a room and they were changed people. If you look at the lifestyle of the early disciples in the book of Acts, everything changed. First of all, they had joy. They said they had gladness of heart. Watch this. They had no lack. There's a spirit of generosity on they had no lack. They experienced a greater dimension of God's presence and power in their life. Not only in their life but through their lives.

58:57And they became infectious and they started taking over communities and cities and regions and literally they turned the world upside down. That's what's going to happen for you. So I want you to close your eyes for a minute. Fill God's loving arms wrapped around you and He loves you. I mean He really loves you. I mean He really, really, really, really, really, really, really loves you. He loves you in such a way that if you catch it, it'll drive out all fear. It'll drive out all fear. It is absolutely impossible for you to fear when His love comes upon you. Hallelujah. You need nothing. Fear makes you needy.

59:57And when you're needy, you make bad decisions. And when you're needy, you cling to things that you would otherwise repel. But the love of God delivers you from neediness because the love of God reveals to you that in Him you have everything already. The Lord becomes your shepherd. You shall not want. You have no lack because He's your shepherd. So Father, I pray as eyes are closed that you would begin God to allow your Lord Mishiba, your God-be-love, your God-be-love to overflow in the hearts, in the minds of your sons and daughters. And Christ, you are the anointing. Literally, you are the anointing. And the anointing breaks the yoke. So God, move through this room, move through this stream on this Pentecost Sunday where you poured out your spirit upon all flames.

1:01:04To transform the lives of sons and daughters, old and young, rich and poor, black and white, Asian and Latino and every other type of diversity. Pour out your spirit, God. Now I'm going to give you 30 seconds to do business with God. And what I mean by doing business with God is I want you to be honest. I want you to be honest. I want you to be honest. And I want you to ask Him to take it. I ask Him to take it. In fact, no, no, no. Say, God, I'm giving that to you. I'm giving that to you. And I don't want to look back. Come on. I'm going to give you one minute. Do business with God. Come on. Be honest. If it's a relationship, if it's love of money, if it's an addiction, come on, give it to them. Give it to them. Give it to them. Give it to them. Give it to them.

1:02:04Give it to them. Give it to them. Give it to them. Come on, give it to them and don't be afraid to say that. You need to let go of, name that community that you need to walk away from. Name that city, name that job, name that situation, name it, come on. Come on, we're out for something. We're out for something. We're out for something. The enemy didn't want you to get here, but it's obvious he couldn't stop you.

1:03:09Because what God has for you is for you. Come here. Come here. You. Please, please, please, please. Do it Lord, from the crowd of our hand to the soul of our feet. Do it Jesus, do it, do it never the same in Jesus' name. It's for you. It's for you. The person that's thinking in her mind is for them, not me. That's not you thinking of. It is especially for you. It is especially for you. One decision. One surrender. Changes everything.

1:04:11If you don't have your hands cut. I just want to pray, I'm sorry, just let me be me. I do want to pray again, soul ties for a second. But I can't do it without you.
