Russell Brand's Bible Fumble, Prayer Controversy

0:00It's April 28th. Welcome in. This is Durham News Today, where local news meets AI. I'm Corey, with the story. Pierce Morgan's latest uncensored interview with Russell Brand blew up online after Brand fumbled a Bible reading. The comedian was supposed to recite a meaningful passage from Isaiah that he read before a recent UK core hearing, but he spent about 90 seconds. Flipping through his Bible on air and couldn't find it, Morgan just sat there silent as a dragged on. One face is serious charges like rape and sexual assault from four women between 1999 and 2005, though he denies. Everything. He did admit recently to sleeping with a 16-year-old when he was 30, which was legal in the UK since the age of consent is 16 there. Fans called out Brand's constant touching during the chat as condescending, and Morgan agreed it fell weird and overly tactile, especially with those, allegations hanging over him. He even shared that Brand insisted on a pre-show prayer, putting a hand on his shoulder,

He read about forgetting the past, and God making a new way through the wilderness, tying it to tough times and politics and culture worldwide. Morgan kept the jabs coming on April 27th, posting that the prayer was almost as cringe as the Bible hunt. Coming up would turn into a truly bizarre encounter that still got everyone talking.
