Rosewood Crawfish Festival Celebrates 19th Year

0:00On April 2, 8th, Columbia's Rosewood Crawfish Festival just marked its 19th year, bringing straight Louisiana heat to the South Carolina State, Fairgrounds on May 3rd. For two decades running since 2006, folks have flocked for pounds of fresh crawfish shipped direct from the values, live music stages, art, vendors, and family-friendly action every spring. Organizer David Britt, who's run this since day 1 and teaches event management at USC, wears by Louisiana mudbugs over local ones. Taste deer, the real deal. Supplier Cody Gillery from Cody's Crawfish Shop, halls him in fresh Thursday before, serving him Saturday with Cajun Budon sausage stuffed with pork, rice, and spices as the perfect sidekick. Locals in Louisiana transplants love it as a taste of home, especially since Crawfish season hits just once a year.
