Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Targeted in Shooting, Move to NYC

0:00It's March 18th, here's what's happening in entertainment. Rihanna and ASAP Rocky stepped out together in New York City this week. It marked their first public appearance since a woman allegedly fired shots at the California home on March 8th. The couple, who shared three young kids, were surrounded by heavy security as they left the Manhattan building and got into an SUV. Police arrested 35-year-old Ivana Ortiz that same day for the attack. She faces attempted murder charges and could get life in prison. Investigators say she used an AR-15-style rifle, hitting the home security gate, an air-stream trailer in the driveway, and even another house, nearby. Rihanna and Rocky were inside that trailer when bullets came through the windshield. Their kids, including three-year-old RZA, two-year-old Riot Rose, and five-month-old Rocky, were also at the property. No one got hurt, but the close call shipped the neighborhood. Ortiz showed up in court on March 10th for her arraignment.

1:00Prosecutors added charges like nine counts of assault with a firearm and shooting into homes and vehicles. The district attorney called it a terrifying incident during a press conference. Meanwhile, Ortiz has a record back in Florida for things like careless driving, domestic violence, and breaking pre-trial rules. The couple's quick move to New York shows they're staying cautious while the case moves forward. Support for this episode comes from our sponsor. See the description.
