On April 23rd, Reform UK just snagged their first council seat in Solford with a tight win in the Barton and Winton buy election on April 22nd. Michael Fels pulled in 676 votes, edging out labor's Katherine Goodyear at 643. Greens came third with 363, while others trailed far behind. A quirky 1972 rule kicked it off when two locals, including Reform Hopeful, Lewis Kroden, demanded a vote within 35 days. Labor griped it wasted over 20,000 pounds in taxpayer cash. Fels, who got booted from labor 15 years back and even served as parade queen at Manchester Pride in 2011, called it, history-making. He slammed the wards' potholes, litter, and misplaced priorities like funding the local stadium over basics. Voters clearly wanted change in what used to be a labor stronghold. Now Software Council's line of sits at labor, with 45 of 60 seats, seven conservatives,

two Lib Dems, plus independence in others including. This new Reform spot, it stings for labor, who crushed the ward by over 1200 votes just last May, with local elections hitting May 7th, Fels' eyes more, where Reform wins to end his lonely stint. This shift signals labor's grip might be slipping in greater Manchester.
