You are listening to us on Building Fortunes Radio, it's www.BuildingFortunesradio.com. We are here on Wednesday night, 11 p.m. Eastern, Thursday mornings over in Thailand with a great friend of ours. His name is Ray Gabauer. Mr. Ray Gabauer has been successful as a distributor in M&M companies, but he is also a successful author.

He is a really good spiritual leader in the self-development field as well. I remet Ray Gabauer after a little bit of a hiatus. He had met him many years ago early on in my career. He was successfully building a network marketing company and I invited him to do some business with us and then he did and then he was referred by Kim Claver and she is really great, a friend of ours as well. And then there was a little bit of separation between him and I because I was busy doing his stuff and he was busy doing something else and I saw his name roll across the screen and I said, you know, I should call Ray Gabauer because number one, he doesn't keep track of what we do so I can bring him up to speed. Number two, I don't know what he's been doing so I should probably get up to speed and he's a good egg. He's a good person. So I had the call, I invited him to be on our radio show and this has been a years long now episode where every week we talk about different and various things and what you'll probably find about Mr. Ray Gabauer is he's like me in this regard, he likes to use acronyms.

I use acronyms all the time and he likes to do those and I like that too and he'll do a radio show on every letter in the acronym three times or if I might say he does three shows on each letter. So we're starting a new acronym called STOP and we're on the first as he did a little bit of an introduction last week but we're here to talk about the first letter S and this is the first radio show of this series so you're in for a treat for a couple of weeks. So Mr. Ray Gabauer, thanks for being here on your own radio show. Well thank you Peter, I appreciate you in making this opening available for me in this platform so like it says in the introduction we're here to make the world a better place particularly your world a better place to make a positive difference because I think that's the purpose of life and we all want the same thing. We want to have a better life and one way we can make ourselves make a better life

ourselves is we help other people have a better life. But to do that more effectively we need a certain amount of knowledge and wisdom and guidance and coaching and that's why we do these shows to help you along the way. So instead of going at 20 or 30 miles an hour and making you up 50 or 60 miles an hour you get to where you want to go a little faster and actually get there some people they never make it because they give up and they just give up and a lot of people are struggling your own life is hard, life is difficult. I frequently remember reading the first sentence and I think it's a famous book called The Brode Less Traveled by Scott Peck. I think this was a 1984, I read this book, it was a really eye-opening book for me but the first sentence caught my attention and I've remembered it ever since, it makes it so fundamentally

true, it's not exactly good news but it's the truth and the truth, the sentence is three words. So life is difficult. Yeah, have you noticed that life can be difficult which on the surface it sounds like bad news but the reality is it's actually good news because if life was always easy we would never need to grow, we would never need to adapt if you don't use your muscle it gets weaker what you don't use you lose and so the more we are challenged the more we are in a zone of being uncomfortable the more opportunity we have to grow and adapt to become stronger and better and so the Bible teaches us to, when you have trials and problems we can rejoice

and be glad because it makes you stronger but it doesn't kill you it can make you stronger. So part of what we need to do to have a better life is what I talked about last week, you know the main theme of this acronym stop is that life isn't just about what you start but also some things we need to stop because some things ways we invest our time really is not productive and so sometimes the most important thing is not to start something new or keep going faster but to stop what's not really working and consider what do I need to do more of what do I need to do less of what do I need to just absolutely stop. But today we're talking about a new concept starting with letter S and so just for the fun of it I always like to ask Peter what's your best guess what's the word for today that starts with S and I'll be talking about so I absolutely know that I absolutely

know that I'm going to get this wrong because it's in my head and not yours but my favorite letter S stands for sense, SCNSE as in the abbreviation for sense of urgency so that's my letter S and I know that's in my brain not yours so I'm going to be completely wrong but I'm going to say it anyway. Okay nice try you struck out again that's okay yeah it's like you know playing the lottery you don't win that often so the word I selected today is the word seed S-E-E-D seed now we all know what seeds are we usually think of plants if you want to harvest you got to plant seeds right it is it's tough sometimes you know you can find wild blueberries

or whatever but if you want to have more you got to plant more you know I remember back in the late 70s I was listening to Jim Rohn every day on his cassette tapes and Wimba tapes was called the law of sowing and reaping but it's a reference to a passage in the Bible in Galatians 6 where it says you reap according to how you sow so if you want to reap you know REAP you have a better harvest you've got to sow more so means you plant and what do you plant you plant seeds so one of the seeds that we plant you know rather than physical seeds is our time everything we do is like planting a seed every thought that we have is like planting a seed and that seed can either be bring good results or maybe not so good results

and you don't want to be planting weeds right you know and we get enough weeds that we don't even plant you know there's no news but a seed here's another way of looking at a seed a seed is that investment into the future so we want to be good investors and to be a good successful investor in life we need to be planting good seeds and probably more seeds now like I infer not all seeds are useful you know there's good seeds there's better seeds there's the best seeds and then there's some just pull out bad seeds you know like Ziggler talked about seeking thinking you know on the other hand you have Napoleon Hill's look sink and grow rich so if you think the right kind of thinking the right thoughts you know you're planting good seeds and you're thinking

and using your imagination then the positions you to have a better life to become rich in whatever way will this financially or or in other ways so we want to be aware and pay attention to what seeds we're planting because we're already planting you know when you spend time on Facebook you know are you planting good seeds by investing time there well maybe depending on what you're looking at how much time do you spend there you know you know too much of a good thing can backfire on you so we want to be more wise in fact the Bible says the most important thing above all else is to seek wisdom to be wise wisdom means using knowledge properly it means seeing the truth from a spiritual perspective I would say wisdom is seeing life from God's perspective seeing life more

accurately so so that's my first point you know for things to change you've got to change like your own dad well for for you to change one of the things you have to change is you got to be more aware of the seeds you're planting and plant better seeds and of course take care of them okay my second point I like to have three points the second point is as I did mention there are bad seeds like the weeds so two points here one is don't plant bad seeds now when we're planting bad seeds we're not realizing it's a bad seed at the moment it seems like a good thing like in your physical health if you're eating junk food that's like planting bad seeds seeds that can can give you a harvest of disease like whether it's cancer or heart disease

I mean my goodness 50,000 people died just yesterday and every day on the average between just cancer or heart disease half of people get cancer you know 80% people are diabetic why because that's the harvest they're getting because they planted bad seeds in this example the bad seeds are his bad diet too much of the bad food not enough of the good food so you got to stop stop planting bad seed stop investing your time poorly that doesn't serve you that ends up hurting you yeah there's advantages to eating junk food because it's simple it's cheap it's convenient but it's like heating poison and so you don't want to be doing things that hurt you that that's cut your life short king Solomon said 3000 years ago he said don't be a fool

why should you die before your time but most people do because they plant too many bad seeds and not enough good seeds okay the second point is not only don't plant bad seeds but but you got to remove them once they're there you say okay well I plan to see this isn't really serving me this is not good I need to pull this up by the roots and some of the bad seeds you don't even plant they just sort of invade your garden that you know the wind blows the seeds of weeds and you didn't plant them but they end up being there so you got to be aware of what's not working what's not serving you if you're not aware you can't do anything so you got to pay attention and you got to remove the bad seeds and one of the worst bad seeds is bad habits so that habit isn't just an isolated one-time event it's a pattern and we basically are run by

our patterns our programming and so the best way to replace the bad program or bad habit or bad seed is to replace it with a good seed not just get rid of the bad one but specifically replace it with the positive one you know just like the ziplier talked about stinking thinking well if you have bad thinking if you have a lot of anxiety you have fear you got doubt you don't believe in yourself those are all bad seeds and the more you think about that the more you are seeding those seeds and cultivating them and making it worse you're feeding the weeds instead of feeding you know the vegetables and the fruit you know the good good plants so and I forgot to say this at the beginning a seed is basically like a new beginning I mean

everything starts as a seed I mean you started as a seed you know the egg and the sperm you know that a conception on it as a seed and then the one cell became two four eight you know multiply so every person every animal every plant started as a tiny seed so small doesn't mean small impact it means it's just a small beginning so even small things small seeds that are not good can have disastrous effects if they're not eliminated if you don't pay attention one of my favorite phrases is when you're too casual you become a casualty so if you don't take care of your garden of your life and the seeds you know the weeds

take over and even the good seeds that they don't last because they get overpowered by the bad seeds by you by the weeds so we got to pay attention so before I get to my third point one more thing I want to say when the best seeds to plant on a broad basis in my thinking is what I call this I would call I never use this phrase before but seeds of love and for me love is not just a feeling feeling has come out of love but love consists of four elements four dimensions I call it you know let's start to let her see you're caring conducting committing and creating value so when you are planting those seeds in yourself and in others like with others you know just like a smile or saying hey how are you doing or thank you that's like planting a seed you know

out of out of love hopefully it's out of love but in ourselves we want this to be our orientation and planning the seeds of of caring and connecting committing committing for win win and creating value which is doing good so when we do everything out of that from that perspective and we're sowing those kind of seeds into our life and other people's life it makes life better because we all want the same thing we want the rest of our life to be the best of our life so planning seeds are not it's not difficult some seeds you can just scatter them on the ground and they grow sometimes you have to dig a little hole and push them down but you know everyone likes easy right you know easy doesn't make you stronger but it's we prefer easy you know life is difficult

and because life is difficult it gives us an opportunity to become stronger and so forth but as far as planting seeds this is simple it's easy especially when you plant you know good seeds so even simple things like planting a seed and others like I said you know just a smile that's like making deposit you're giving them attention which is one of the elements of love you know love starts with giving somebody positive attention saying thank you okay asking him how how are they doing so that's an act of love that's planting seeds so point number three and I've already sort of inferred this is you want to cultivate the seeds sometimes sometimes just throwing seeds out there you know that that works but sometimes at most of the time especially if you're serious about

your garden your harvest you can't just plant and then just come back three months later and see how it looks you've got to give a seed's attention which means you need to cultivate them they need to get what they need you know like agriculture seeds need certain things like sunlight some seeds need more or less they need water they need nutrients so the seeds that you're planting especially in yourself especially this the the thinking seeds of the thoughts you know the feelings like if you have a pattern of feeling of worry or anxiety you know that's like an energetic seed here you have that seed if they're in the more attention you give that seed of say anxiety or worry or fear

you're cultivating that seed and it's going to grow bigger is that we'll see it can grow to the big oak tree you know it's harder to get rid of it when it gets big the best time to get rid of a seed is like right right away you know here's a statement I'd like yeah like the best time to start a business is say 20 years ago the second best time is right now so same thing with your life you know probably would've been better to get rid of some of these seeds you know years ago but if you did it you know it's not too late it's maybe more difficult now because they're they have deeper roots but if you want to have a better life you you that get rid of the bad seeds and cultivate the good seeds that's my main point you want to cultivate the good seeds give them attention nourishment gratitude you know when you plant a seed it isn't just a mechanical

mechanical thing everything is based on energy like if you're planting actual real seeds you're planting seeds for flowers or vegetables like tomatoes or zucchini or spinach if you give it nourishment beyond just the physical like the the water and sunlight but you also give the plants attention and gratitude the plants actually flourish they do better because they're getting fed energetically same thing with all of the seeds that you plant in your life that you want to cultivate you know the good habits you know you want to seed a nourish cultivate those seeds with your positive emotions because that's really your fuel for life it's your emotions no one does anything unless

they have an emotion that's your energy that's like your rocket fuel if you don't have any feeling about something you're not going to do it so the strongest feeling always wins so if you want something to work better whatever it is whether it's we're talking about seeds as a metaphor or more broadly whatever it is that you want to accomplish you always want to nourish and feed that habit or that pattern or that plan with the positive emotions particularly of gratitude and faith faith is positive expectations and and cultivate a nourishable seed otherwise you might just be wasting your time even planning good seeds doesn't work out unless you nourish them and cultivate them and sometimes even when you do cultivate them stuff happens like there could

be a flood and wipe out your whole harvest and it wasn't your fault it just stuff happens you know like the Bible says the races and always to the swift from the battle to the strong or wealth to the wise but time and chance happen to the ball so sometimes just random stuff happens disasters sometimes you know thousands of people die in an earthquake or or a tsunami and so people get wiped out it's not even your fault so what do you do you got two options you give up or you get up and start over so I've had this experience myself lots of times like in business I have the good business that doing really well I'm one of the top earners and then all of a sudden the rug gets pulled and he's it's coming goes out business or they put me out of business they steal my business they terminate me for no good reason and I lose everything

it well life is difficult life is not fair but that's what happens it's un it's you can't avoid it bad things happen you know people are not always fair they're not always nice sometimes they steal from you they trick you we got millions of scammers out there we have to be more careful than ever so when bad stuff happens you either give up or you get back up you know the Bible says though the righteous falls seven times he will rise again so when you get knocked off your horse you got to get back on and pretty quickly not like yes they are you got to get back in the game uh you're playing baseball if you strike out well so what everyone strikes out but you don't quit the game okay well next time maybe I'll hit the ball next time I'll do better what did I

learn from this so we we want to stay engaged you don't want to be faked out by this idea of whatever it will be will be and serve have a passive mentality oh we'll see how it works out you know you never know well there's some truth to that but we want like Stephen Covey talked about in his famous book the seven habits of highly effective people excellent book everybody should read this in fact I remember when my my my son Scott just a teenager I signed and gave him a assignment to read that book he was upset with me he didn't want to read the book but I pressured him to read it and later he thanked me that was such a great book so glad you maybe read the book okay but it is never one point that habit is being proactive so so we're talking about seeds we

got to be proactive we got to be aware we got to be planning to see they got to cultivate them get rid of the bad seeds if you want to have a better life otherwise if you're too passive he's not going to work out so well you you've got to invest you got to see yourself as an investor in fact that's a good way to to to identify yourself say you know I am an investor not just financially but everything we do we invest our time we invest our energy and sometimes we invest our money you know so if you buy a new house a new car you're investing in that new item but primarily think of yourself as investor with your time how do you invest your time and when you invest your time is something that's like planning a seed it's seed is small

but it's powerful and that tiny seed can become a huge tree and then say it's an apple tree then it has thousands of apples all those apples they have I don't know how many seeds eight seeds or how do they have a number of seeds so the potential from that one seed from the one tree could end up being hundreds of trees because of the new seeds so it has a multiplication effect but it all starts with planting seeds you know like the Bible says soling and reaping if you want to have a bigger harvest you've got it so more seeds and so good seeds take care of them you know nourish them and make sure you always empower your seeds and nourish them with your your heart with your emotions you know it's particularly a gratitude when you first plant a seed you don't have any results

you got to wait a while but they get to to maximize your harvest and to help the seed grow better and faster you want to seed at your energy of positive expectation particularly gratitude plants are able to sense people and your intentions you know they sound that if you have plants you are taking care of and they hook them up with the electronic equipment so they can monitor the energy and the signals and the plant and they find it's the owner or the ones taking care of the plants leaves the house then when you're coming back but when you get within two kilometers of the house the plants start reacting like they get excited oh the person who takes care of me is coming back and they get excited you know how do they do that we're not really sure

that they do that I read it another interesting experiment I heard this like 30 years ago I forget the guy's name was doing a lot of experiments with plants and he would hook them up and be able to see you know their energy and the spikes and how they're reacting so one time they as his experiment they had a guy come into the room in the office and he took a cigarette and he burned a hole in one of the leaves of the plant and the plant really reacted because you know they're monitoring the plant with the equipment so you know the plant calms down so like a week later the guy comes back to the office the plant reacts the plant goes crazy the guy didn't burn a hole in the leaf again he just came there and the plant remembered the guy I don't know how that works but plants have some degree

of awareness so it trees and so I say all that just to emphasize the point that we can nourish our seeds including our physical plants as well as our you know the seeds that we plant in ourselves and in others with our emotions particularly with appreciation and gratitude one of my favorite words that I came up with about it you know several months ago for my life now the most important word for me is the word optimize I'm going to optimize my life in five different areas actually you know my physical life like my health physical health my my mental life which probably should be number one my emotional life spiritual life well that's probably number one and my financial life so I want to optimize

everything so I think about that every day how can I optimize my life how can I optimize my time one of the ways you can optimize and have a better life is you plant more seeds you stop planning the bad ones get rid of the bad ones the best you can and you cultivate them and you feed the seeds and the investment with appreciation and gratitude if you want to optimize your harvest and your life one of my favorite verses in the Bible says I've come that you might have life of life more abundantly that's what we all what we want to have a better life we want to have a abundant life we want to feel fully alive but that doesn't happen automatically it takes focus and energy investing planning more seeds and cultivating them okay so I think that's good enough for today

just a quick review you know a seed is like a small beginning it's an investment and you got to be aware that there's bad seeds you can't just ignore them they could take over you got to deal with them and three you want to cultivate your seeds nourish them like I just been talking about she want to have a better harvest and make sure because you are a loving person that you plant seeds and others even little seeds you don't know how much impact a tiny seed of just a smile could be we're giving somebody a hug or say hey I appreciate you you know you're a good person look it might take a few seconds to have sometimes the impact of the rest of your life I remember things teachers told me when I was a student you know some of them were negative and some were positive so we want to do good by planting seeds and others especially with our

words and our your thoughts and our energy and as well as make sure we're doing good job planting the right seeds and cultivate them in ourselves okay we'll call that around so Peter any comments or questions doing that all good things as usual all good things as usual so it's kind of interesting you kind of mess me up with the plants now I have to say goodbye and hello and by plants I'm my way in and my way out because if they have feelings so thanks for the illusion anyway so having said that for those people that want to learn how to work with you what's the best way for them to get in touch with you well like I said life is difficult but some things are easy and because of our technology with phones it can be really easy to connect now so here's my phone number it's a Washington State phone number you know I'm in Thailand so my phone number is 425-333-8472 so 425 triple-3-8472 so feel free to call me anytime or text me either way

and I'll get back to you and I guarantee two things one is I can't help you if you don't call obviously and number two I I guarantee I can't help you if you do I may just give you some clarity or guidance or maybe you want to work with me in a project but I'm here to help people make a difference because I'm only where I am in my level of success because of other people I know clue when I was young I was like stupid you know you don't know what you don't know I mean that was really smart and intelligent but when you don't know what you don't know you're so stuck here like you're hopeless until sunlight helps you see things that you can't see that's why we all need coaches we all need mentors we all need to be learning from others we need to be reading we need to be going seminars and workshops and and nowadays you can learn a lot of things on YouTube you know if you if you're selective you know don't waste your time and stuff that doesn't

make much difference but so anyway so if you'd like to connect with me and that's one of the elements of love right carrying connecting committing creating value just call me that number or text me 425-333-8472 so thank you for listening and do yourself a favor it probably benefits you to listen to this again as well as other episodes that I've done and we'll be doing and do someone a favor invite them to listen to because that'd be like planning a seed for them it gives them an opportunity to learn something more awareness that they didn't have so they can have a better life too and you get some reward by planning that seed by doing them a favor by telling them about it so and that's why all of our life should be we should think you know how can I be more caring more connecting more committed for one win and and creating value doing good okay I think that's it for today god bless you all thank you very much for making this available thank you
