But anyway, so yeah, it's been a long, old day early start and it was worth it in the end because of course, walls came out eventually, a one-nil, victorious, a way die with Rell Himmenez popping up in the 90th minute to secure the three points and boy, did we need that result. It doesn't tell the whole story of the game, of course, if you've watched our instant fan reaction, we could give 15 minutes of analysis straight after the game. Well, yeah, I mean, if you've seen Toy Story, you never know. You never know. It would just be a cuddly toy but could be getting up to all things evening,

Em, I mean, obviously, you know, enjoyed the day out, as you know, good day out, good result in the end. We had plenty of our way days last year and, you know, on three points happier than I was this morning. Yeah, three points, I think that's about right. We're going to get stuck into it. And I'm also delighted to welcome on the Samoza King, the fundraising extraordinaire, the main man himself, who's, I don't know how much he's raised for charity now. And he never stops. Really got three fundraising events that are coming up very, very soon. It is the man himself, man, how you doing, mate? Hi, hi, I'm Dave, hi, Emma, Ryan, and everyone else watching out there. I'm doing good. I'm away in Oxford. People say you never rest and I said, you know, one day we all end up resting.

5:20So we carry on while we're fit and healthy. No, that's fantastic. And well, just before we get started, let's just kick off with, and we'll cover it again a little bit towards the end, but you've got three fundraising events that are coming up. The one or two things absolutely magical. And a beautiful thing actually is that the, the, you obviously very well know for doing these crazy walks. And insane, like going without sleep for four days and all that. And then running a marathon. For a beautiful thing that I really think is lovely. And inspiring another generation as well. And in terms of putting back and helping other people is the managed mile with the skill children. Is that that's next week, I think, isn't it? Yeah, it has been Friday this week. Yeah, looking forward to it. It's going to be exciting. It's going to be your lightest end. It's a little bit magical, like all of it, rather than extreme.

6:23I'm still running the equivalent of two marathons over two days. Kind of a hit session. So run a mile and then travel to the next school. Run another mile covering 25 schools one day. And 25 the next primary schools in Wolverhampton, which you know, the schools are so excited. And today I found out there's even a child minding group in Wolverhampton, which has got nine months to two year old toddlers crawling, manny's mile and once your forms. And I didn't even know about it. Someone told me about it. So we're even inspiring babies. It's wonderful. And then of course, following that, I've just seen the news drop today. So I've got the thing.

7:23You've got two some hours to Saturdays. You've got the Wattford game. And then you're doing the Langes as well. What a great result by the way for the girls today as well. With one full one and I agree, and I agree. It's against Shepard and I see today they got a great win. Three girls to win. I'm so pleased for them. Yeah, so most of Saturday's returning. You've just mentioned about these stupid kickoffs. And Saturday, 24th of October is our first home, the rapey-m kickoff of the season in October. It's that ridiculous, you know. So that was the, that was already set in stone. And in speaking to some of the people up at all the women today and they wanted, they were excited about doing another one. And it just was right to do it in the same week, I think. Because they've got a midweek match. And so yeah, Wednesday, when they play against Brighton, which is a league cup match by the other, Telford will also bring in Smosis there for the, I think the third time. We've done a couple of events before.

8:25So two opportunities and this is going to be split between a dementia UK and Walls Foundation. This both Smosis at Days R. And that's to do with the sleep out coming up. It's something that I know you've supported. Many, many, many fans have supported. And we've tried to do some help for that. So yeah, we're going to, we're going to be there. So I know fans will always turn out and, and, and do their best and give back. And that's why we carry on. Because the demand, you know, people actually say, well, Wednesday and X, Smosis at day, I'm like, give me a rest, please. And, and so that's why we carry on and the family, love it. And obviously all you guys who volunteer and help, they can't wait either. So it becomes a really beautiful community event. And we need more of those events in life. So, you know, it's fantastic, my honestly. And I've just looked for the link in the description. And I've just looked three, as it stands at the moment,

9:30I was thousand target, 7,000 to 25%, 361,264 pounds, mate. It isn't real, I mean, that's actually a second link for the venture UK. And so at the moment, we've just on past 442,000, I think. So, many, many, many smiles up to 7,300 before we've started and all the schools are doing their own fundraising. So they're all going to be adding to the part as well, which is like, you know, I mean, I never put any limits. I never have any entry fees. I never have, for me, it's tape art, just come and tape art. And if you haven't got nothing to give, that's okay. Just come and help. And so there's no pressure on the schools to raise any amounts. Whatever they can do, the most important thing is inspire young children, the art of giving back, but also moving themselves. We don't want them sitting in front of screens like we are. We want them moving and interacting and communicating and getting those skills that

10:35sometimes are missing in this modern life that we live in. May absolutely brilliance. I just wanted to get all that up at the top of the show because like, I really do think, you know, you raise so much money, but the impact, you know, that will have young children and inspire them to do something like this. And from that, there will probably be other people that will go on in life, in adult life, and do good things because of these sorts of things. Because it just sets good examples. So, you know, well done, mate. It's wonderful. You know, really, really did. I don't know you made loads of money, but the inspiration for the kids as well. Well, even, you know, match next week, I mean, there are, you know, what the rivalry is right. We go back, you know, a long, long way with that rivalry. But I've had Baggy's fans approach me and said, actually do a smosis at the Hawthorne's. We'll look after you.

11:37We'll be your volunteers and you can wear your all your wolves kit or make sure, no, you know, because they contribute. They go night, they encourage the schools in Sandwell, want me to do Vanysmarle over there as well. So, you know, this might become an annual thing because of the demand we ask for schools. Are you over subscribed, right? Yeah, I asked for schools. I didn't really know. I mean, how do you attract 50 schools? So, I gave them three weeks to register. 24 hours later, 68 schools register. So, you had weight. And there was only 78 primary schools. And I had 68 of them registered within. So, I've had a reserve list, a couple of them have come in because a couple of schools have to drop out who just their own reasons. So, yeah, we probably have to do another one just to cover them. And, you know, just amazing, unbelievable. And I've said to the kids, and if I'm tired and I can't run a mile, I'll just say to the kids, get on with it. I'll just watch you. The thing is, Mani, and I think just to kind of put a personal note on it as well,

12:38I mean, my daughter's school, they've signed up to it as well. And I'll win it with school. Warstones. Ah, yes. So, I said, I'm with Mani, and she went, oh yeah, I've seen his poster up at the school and all the school that's talking about it. And that's just one. Florence has been fortunate to meet yourself. And I think it is all about inspiring. It's all about community. You know, sometimes you've done the past, you can do things solitary, which is having a huge impact. But now you bring your people together. So, the kids, yeah, the rhyme came up. It came about with someone approached me assembly, a young, um, a year three boy, and he sort of grabbed my legs like this. And he went, can I walk to London with you? And I'm like, oh, okay, maybe one day, you need to get better, and stronger, and you need authorization of your parents. And I think sometimes fundraising for children becomes difficult because obviously you can't enter a race. You have to be 18 and you can't just go off for a walk in London if you're a child.

13:39So, it was like, what can we do? Well, the schools are safe place. They've got their teachers. Let's go into the schools and do something. So, it was taking the marathon to them, rather than them going to the marathon. And, um, you know, those few laps or where they walk or run, or whatever they do is going to, you know, they'll feel that they played a part. Mani's mild raised all this money and we played a part. And that's a self-esteem confidence. So many qualities that they all gain from it, hopefully. And I think that's okay. Do you have Christchurch in it? Christchurch or in the reserve list? They didn't get in too late. That's great. There's uplands, Featherstone. There's so many really good schools because... Mani, that's more primary school, Christchurch. Well, sorry, mate. Slough the mark. I've been there. I've done them an assembly there. I don't know the people there. When I was little, it's got like a little hexagon as you know, it's where I went to, yeah, Christchurch, Prime, usually where I went to school. So it's a little late next time.

14:41That's, yeah, when I was a little doct, many, many years ago. Right? It's brilliant. It's brilliant what you do, mate. Well, we'll touch a little bit more on this, a little bit later on in the show. Let's get stuck in today. Whoops, if you want to kind of kick us off with your reaction to it, what you took out the game and the overall performance from today. What are your main take-outs? Look, I think the headlines will be the fact that we've got a clean sheet. You know, we've really struggled to do that this season. We've really been leaking goals. So that will be the headline and rightly so. And getting a goal in no circumstances towards the end of the game is always satisfying. I thought the road, Kay, I watched your post-match outside the ground and I've seen some of the stuff online. I kind of get it. It wasn't convincing.

15:42But I've come away from it and said, actually, do you know what? It's a win away from home. It's a clean sheet. I'm probably a little bit more positive. I think there's still work to do. But when we have, I just listened to Chris Wad, as interview, just before I came on and you know, he references what a lot of people reference the quality, the fact you can bring Trippur on, the fact you can bring him and his on. Jordan James, one of the best plays in this division, you know, Tommy Dolor, who had an impact. This squad, as I said at the start of this season, and we'll go into it perhaps if we do a review of the transfer window, he's absolutely good enough. I believe to chase those two top spaces. I think the issue we will have in such a long season is we've obviously got to manage your who's unknown, unknown to the Lee. And also we've got players who ultimately have a hand over some of last season where they just forgot how to win football matches and it's mentality. I don't think it's talent because I think if you look at those names on paper,

16:46they're absolutely good enough. So yes, Chef Erwin, on a great side, they've still got some decent players, perhaps some was end-acreased in like some Phillips, they've got Paris and Diaz, they've got A who came on. But I think when you compare the squad, we are a better side, we've won the game. So I wouldn't be as negative as I've seen online. I accept the parts of the first half performance were great, but ultimately we've got a clean sheet and from a side that has struggled to do that this season. And the side that I still believe needs a mentality switch, this is fantastic. And what a joy to see Keirin Tripper on the pitch, you know, we want to see him back, we need leaders, how do you think about it as well? He made the big impact as this oil, James will let's her extend. So yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm a game really relaxed about our situation. It's early days, it's another win, it's a clean sheet. I'll be interested to see how Nasseris,

17:49because he came off on 70 minutes and I thought until then he was probably our best player in my opinion. I thought he did everything right. I think the way in which he reads the game is, is excellent. So I'm really positive. Yes, it wasn't perfect, it wasn't polished. But yeah, there's a long way to go in this league. I think people have seen, you know, maybe West Dams performance and are kind of using that as a bronch, they did against Rexham, for example, you know, let's control what we can control. This squad is still absolutely good enough, but I think it's had some issues defensively. We've changed that recently, we've got a clean sheet, that is a platform to build on. So I'm overall pretty positive about things. I'm not saying we've finished article, there's still a long way to go and we know what the grind of this division will be and we know the challenges that will face, but we're kind of one. We've put in the game and we've got a clean sheet and yes, that's the narrative and the bigger picture. I get it and the nuances and there's lots

18:50of variables to go, but that can only breed confidence going into another important way. Well said, Emma, we'll bring you in there. You with your thoughts, obviously, you there today, on Roe C, which is effectively Roe B, because there was, as we could see, there was no Roe A. It's really odd, but there you go. So that, but anyway, your thoughts, having challenged some of it reflect on the performance and the results. If I'm honest, I feel so particularly first half, it was a big boring. I think boring was sums it up, but you know, in some ways, boring's good. What could I say about it, really? We have a lot of possession. We never really controlled the game, but someone asked me

19:50before the game, what did I want from this game? And I said, I'd really like a clean sheet. And we actually got a clean sheet. So, and the next game, I'm going to ask for a clean sheet and a win. I love it, I'll get that. But yeah, I think, I think people are panicking too soon. It's not clicked yet, but I think, I think there's a lot of potential there, and I can see potential, and no potential doesn't win games. But I'm not panicked. I don't think, I mean, people are saying, oh, like, championship's really tough and whatever. But we haven't seen any really, really skillful teams so far. No, I don't think the championship is great as a lot will make. I agree with you, I think. We haven't come up against Middlesbrough, which I think will be interesting because they've

20:53haven't recruited. Yes, we've played West Ham and we've kind of kicked out their season, but that game could have been very different. But no, I agree. I don't think there's anything we should fear up fear about in this division, absolutely. Yeah, I think there's probably a few key teams that are really, really good. But I don't think, I mean, Chef Elgionist had worked great today, but I mean, good work particularly, anything special. And, you know, we haven't really seen anything, you know, to be afraid of. After a 1-0 win away at Chef Elgionist, it was a great place to win. Now, I am not going to pretend that back game was great going to watch a great performance. Quite honestly, it was not in my opinion. I thought we did nothing second half, something that's been a button. I thought we were okay for a staff. I didn't think, I can remember thinking through the game. You know what? We're actually no better than another championship side. That gave me, that gave me something to think about. But, you know what? It matters not. A late, late goal from Raleham Ayes. It doesn't get any better than that in front of the away end.

23:05So, I am willing to forget how average that performance was, because it was our bridge of Nuttpur, because the two, you know, at the away win, under the circumstances, I think, you know what? I think my substitutions did tip the game in our favour, particularly flippy coming on. Look, did we deserve to win that game? No. Did I absolutely love the way one that game? Yes. I don't care. And it was honestly no difference for the first 70 minutes, but then we brought subs on and we brought Doyle, we brought James on, we brought Rowlon, and the game started to pick a pace in our favour. And overall, you know, you'll take the three points for sure given where we are. So now we're back up into the playoffs classically seventh now. We do have games in a game in hand on other teams on other sides, but overall again it was a pretty poor showing for the first 70 minutes. And because of that, I'm only going to really, I'm only going to give it a six in terms of performance rating. In terms of a man on the match, I'm going to give it to Rowle because he scored the goal. But yeah, I mean if you're going to get promoted, you need to win matches like this, where you're not going to be playing your best. You know, sometimes a proper smashing grab is

I didn't go today and I watched, I watched about 60 minutes of today's match, about the last 30 minutes of the first half and I watched the last 30 minutes of the second half. You did get to the minute of the second half was certainly some of the best. Yeah, it was, you know, but reminded me of last week's game, as in it wasn't fluent in we started

26:22to suffer in spells. It was a little bit turgid at times. There wasn't much fluid passing, especially through the middle of the park. And what happened last week was we were kind of hanging on for a point and then we had this golden opportunity where Armstrong could have won it. And this week, kind of the similar thing happened where a point might have been the, you know, the result that that match deserved, but we did score the goal at the end. And we do have a quality that was probably this wrongest bench we've had for a while. And we've rail been rested to bring him on and trivia coming back and bring a doil on and bring James on and you've already on raise or ready on the pitch. I mean, that's quite a collection of players at this level. And at this level, that you'll be producing. Now, last week against Birmingham, that ball out to trivia. Well, that exactly the same thing happened last week twice, but it went to Jackson, didn't it? And he

27:27miscontrolled and put the cross out apply and the one went out apply. But this time, trivia, it was seasoned, it was a bit more, you know, got a bit more nose and been in that position and produces a bit more in product. Mentum, that was a bit of luck involved, but there was a bit of deflection on his cross. Then there was a miss hit by Tommy and then, you know, Rale was in the right place and really happy for him. I think it's massive for him. The scoring penalties is great, but Strike has won a score goals, especially winning goals. And Rale has scored two goals where we've got four points against, you know, Blackburn and so that four of the 11, that's quite a high percentage. So, you know, I always said Rale is not a 46 game player. He needs to be managed. Unfortunately, we haven't up till now. Now we have. So that's what we need to do with him, I think. Same with Trippier, in our 46 game prep player. So these players and that's what the frustration

28:27was when we brought them in. We needed a little bit more backup, a little bit better than, it sure need fair play, you know, good young striker. I'll guess we'll get to that with the real close look. Yeah, but what I'm saying, we wanted just a little bit more quality, but the positive is, like the others have said, we've won a match. And I did say the other day, I thought, come walls, Scrapper 1-0 win after all these, you know, four twos and two twos and everything. And we did, we scrapped a 1-0 win and we have to do that in game. So yeah, it hasn't really clicked. But then with three points off the top of the table, having not clicked. So we want to click and we want to play more fluid football, but sometimes we have to win like this. So at this level, this squad should achieve whether they'll finish top two, I'm not certain, because this divisions, you know, if you've seen Blackburn and matches where you think, oh, we'll be comfortable

29:28here today. I mean, you look at Sheffield United, yeah, Bamford and I.U. and you know, Philips and they've got seasoned players, aren't they? They're seasoned players who've got played many, many, many seasons. So they know the league and they're really tough and hard and you have to really roll it, we leave them and we did do that. And for all their, their half and puff, they didn't really have anything, any golden chances, I would say. So I defense were so much better today, thankfully, a Cretchie's obviously, you know, alongside Jiggaard, I think just solidified it a little bit. And he's been possibly the success. Nasir Jiggaard has probably been the success story of the early season, with Lopez, we saw what he did at Selta Vigo. So we're happy that he's carried on that form, but this guy had an absolute shocker at arranges. Ranges fans are slating him, left right in center. So for him to come in. That's true, yeah, but which is kind of why when

30:31you've got such a low expectation, because of that, yeah, and then he plays and like you say, a human, both him and for Lopez have really made their mark on the early season, haven't they? While they have their way, and it's been a bonus for us, a bonus for us that they've done that, because I think most of us kind of didn't expect anything, or we were thinking, how are we going to go or how is it going to, you know, freshen up? And thankfully, they have, because we need that to happen. So going forward, you know, the team that finished looked more fluid, and we sort of eventually in the second half, we made hard work of it, got on top, and the quality, when you bring on tripier and roul, and even if they produce sixes and seven type performances, that should be too good. So for this division, so wolves possibly don't have to play nine and ten football to win games in this league a lot of the time. We've won three out of six, so it's just

31:32proven, you know, we haven't really clicked, and yet we're sort of nearly two points of game. So, yeah, it is, it is what it is on a single game. You take that, it's not great performance, there's lots to work on, and we've got to control games and manage them and keep the ball, and I think that will come with a change of personnel, especially in the middle of the park, when you've got Doryl and James, who are footballers, who are actually basketball at this level. You know, Premier League levels, a different level, I don't think I'm virtually 99% of our team can't play in the Premier League, but in this level, they should be able to perform. Well, that's really good, yes, and talk about football intelligence. Let's just have a look at the stats. So on our website, we've got, we have all the different stats, obviously, if you go on to the match center, you go on to that with scroll down, and as you can see, it's got all the details, all the

32:32important stats, much to expect, it goes, the Sheffield United 0.51, 1.71 for wolves, wolves 16 shots, two Sheffield United six, three on target, crucially one of them went in the back of net two, and then you can look at the accurate passes, 82%, 71%. So, you know, the stats do pan out the overall we probably deserve to win the game. I think the last 20 minutes probably skewed that a lot in our favour, which we were so dominant in that last 20 minutes. And the change is, when we made the change, we started to move to ball, quick, we started to push them back, pressed them, and we pinned them in, and we pinned them in, and they couldn't get out, and you know, it might be a little bit of luck with them in terms of how the goal come about, but it came because the pressure was relentless in that last 20 minutes, and then eventually, you know, as you know, as walls fans, if you've got balls coming into the box for a lot of 20,

33:3930 minutes, eventually one's going to drop to the opposition and now topo. One thing I like about this manager is, I know people are uncertain, the one thing I do like about him is I think he does realize eventually he dropped Otte because he thought, oh my god, we're conceding goals. He rested, Raul, so he's bought him out the team. He took Marneo last week, you know, so I think he's not afraid. Sometimes managers are always accused of, oh, flying the favourites, but he has made decisions. Sometimes maybe not the right decision with some of his substitutions, but he does go early and he made, you know, nearly cost us again because Marneo seemed to be limp in at the end, and we thought, oh my god, I've got another Moscow remover to where we got no money. Yeah, so it could go both ways, but I do like the fact that he is, he does think about, oh, Raul didn't really have a good game there. Let's rest him, let's give him a breather, bring him on, he'll have the impact, and he's, and sometimes managers, especially new managers,

34:43when you've got trippers and Raul's and Andres, and it couldn't be quite daunting for a young manager to go up to big players like that and say, I'm resting you today, you're starting on the bench, but he seems to make those decisions, which is a good thing. I'm totally definitely needed to come out of the side for his own good, you know, and the only thing I don't like is we've had four captains again this season, we seem to be doing close-ups. We're talking about that. We're going to record. You must be on a sponsored thing or something where he's like, he's got a bet with his mate, how many captains he can make in the season, because that is awesome. I am, you know, people say, oh, captain, everyone's a captain, it doesn't matter. It does matter, man. If you look at the great teams of the past, you know, even the, you know, the Brian Robson's and the Sleven Gerrards and the Vincent companies and John Terry's captains, the leaders, the visionaries, they're, you know, and we've got to nail that down really after, yeah. Yeah, no, we just said we were talking about that ever, what about the captains inside of things? We were, yeah. On that as well.

It's such a subjective question, because I've seen a lot of talk as you would do on socials and chat with friends about the window, and a lot of negativity, and I get it, I think the noticeable signings are coming into this window, if we go a step back, I talked about Tripia earlier, in terms of players to identify, because of the season that we had last year, because of the refresh that we needed, what we needed to get, a player's with, you know, real good experience in the league, leadership, and we've ticked that box with Tripia. We've ticked the box in terms of players who've recently been in the championship, and have had great seasons, we ticked that with James, you know, you bring him in as the ability that he has, and again, you know, some great leadership skills, so I think those are the three headline

1:00:01signings aren't they, for me, Tripia, Role, and James. I think looking at the window where I think I wouldn't say it's boom or bust, but when I look at it pragmatically, there's a lot of short termism here, because if you look at the players that have been signed, and you include Conan, Crayora, and those are players I mentioned, Minus James, you know, these are players, you know, in their first, is so there is some short termism there, there's kind of an idea that it's a very specialist window for Phosan, the way I interpret the window, this is our shot, we're getting to get players in, you know, maps all the way into their career, my concern, and I guess it's not as concerned to have, is that, you know, should we be in a fortunate position to get promoted this season, it's going to need a huge refresh again, we haven't got, you know, the idea, if you go

1:01:07back to the infamous fans forum now, Matt Jackson was talking about players that we would sign that, if we sign this year, we fulfill our ambitions, they'll go again next year, and some of those players in their mid firties, I would have concerns that they'll be able to go again next year, so I think they haven't, they've, there's a little bit of short termism there, if that makes sense for me, I think where we perhaps could have strengthened further would have been perhaps a nervous striker, I know we brought Neyvin from Newcastle, but we talked about, and I know many reference to early about him and his in the number of games that I'll have over the course of the season, so there is a concern here that, you know, perhaps we haven't got another striker, but I think when you look at the forward line as a whole, and you look at, you know, Armstrong, that can, can obviously play across the front line, and you look at Marne, we've also got Beligard, let's not forget to come in, and overall as a collective, we're probably okay, so I feel like we're perhaps as

1:02:09striker short, but yeah, I can see the comments coming in, and I do get it, you know, there are a lot of free transfers that have come in, but you know, they're not coming in for free either, so I want the experience, and I just think some of those later signings that trickled down the line, you know, his tone and his trail, all right, going to be players, that if you are to go up, we're going to see every game, I have concerns, I would have liked us to maybe have targeted more players, perhaps in their mid-20s, have got a bit of a higher ceiling, and let's be absolutely frank and honest about this, it's not as if this is has become a kind of a new thing for them, they've known since Christmas, even before, that this is the position that we're in, so I'm a little bit concerned that, not I wouldn't say Booman Bush, there are especially signings there, but there's a little bit of short-termism where we're going to have to go again, it could be without going on too

1:03:11long here, that it is a strategy of fosing whereby, you know, if you look at the ground, you look at the academy, you look at the women's team, it all kind of goes back to, we're just about doing enough, we won't go further than that, but we'll just do enough and we'll be a little bit reactive, so I feel as if they're just about done enough, kind of banked on it, if we're struggling in January, oh let's see where we are then, so the squad, in my opinion, as I've said earlier, and I won't go back on this, is good enough for top two, but I think is an overall picture, I'm a little bit concerned that it's, there's a bit of a short-term strategy, and somebody within the recruitment team should be a little bit more forward thinking if they are ambitious as we think they are, so I think there's proof in a lot of the signings that they've made that they're quite telling in where I think fosing seals, so I don't know, six and a half seven, if you if you've prissed me for a rating because

1:04:15there are some good signings within there, but yeah, my concern as a bigger picture is they're not looking at the bigger picture if that makes sense, no it makes some sense, money coming in with you now, yeah you know what, he's made a real point there and that's why I'm really frustrated, I think it's a poor, I know people are saying it's a good window, I think it's a really poor window, because we cannot build a championship squad to just get up and then think what next, oh my god, we need to spend 250 million quid, how much is it, switch spent and and whole and and penetrate huge amounts of money, and I can't see our ownership spending that money, I can't, there's no, not history of them doing that in our recent seasons with them, no. With Keir and Maguire, I think he said in the 23-24 season, we spent 220 million, yeah, so you know, which surprise they, but we're coming out the championship, is it kind of a different,

1:05:18you know, it's a really different ball game and there's a lot of these players, remember, they did go to Christmas with two points and we had one of the worst seasons in our history, so we needed a clear out, we needed a clear out and we're having to, you know, and yeah, people might not want these players and we might not be able to sell them, but that's the job of the sporting people, that's the job of the recruiters, that's the job of the people who tasked and that's what they kind of promised to do, so I'm not very happy with the window, because even if we go up, you know, like he just said, Bertrand Troyer, Ray Rale, Tripier, you know, there's so many short term thinking signings, which were good, but then you had to supplement them with a Jordan James type of signings, so Jordan James was a really good signing, I thought, because I think he can maybe step up and if we develop him right, he can be a Premier League player, now remember, when we got up

1:06:20last time, Cody, Sice, Nervaers, you know, Jota, we had six or seven players that we were really excited in seeing them playing in the Premier League. You know, just looking at the team today, Felo, Pesh, you don't think it's step up to the Premier League? For me, he's a good player, but he, I'm telling you right, if he has a fantastic season and he scores 15-20 goals, you know, and somebody comes in for a bit, if I was someone who would be like this, let's get rid and let's then reinvest that money, I, you know, and that's the thing, that's the problem, I see, with this vision that we've got, it's very short term, it's very reactive, oh, we're not going to apply for the women's team, oh no, they've kicked up their first, no, we're going to give them some money, oh, we're in the Premier League, what now, let's spend some money, oh, it's very reactive, it's firefighting, there's no vision, no plan, what is, you know, and what we used to hear those

1:07:25words before, when folks and first came in, they had the vision, they had the plan, this is what we're going to do, we're going to build this structure, we're going to bring these people through, you saw leadership, clear leadership on the pitch, off the pitch, in the club, stripped it all apart, Jeff made a complete mess, and maybe, you know, these guys are picking up the pieces, but I don't, even someone like Matt Jackson, seems a nice guy, and you might be listening to this, and you have to speak your mind, I don't think many Premier League clubs are probably employing, you know, as in that role, so that is, we, you know, but then there is this thing about, regardless of what they do, if the guy at the top is not interested, and he just wants you to cut your cloth according, and do the minimum amount, then maybe the hands are tied, maybe that's why, Bertrand Trial, right, Sean Nive, no way, at the start of the transfer window, are walls sitting down thinking, Sean Nive, Bertrand Trial, right, they were last minute things,

I also think, I know a lot of people wanted a lot of change, and I was one of those that felt we needed to change, to change the mentality, but I think change in the manager helps change that mentality, with the, the lone players coming in, I think there has been a good turn, and clearly that mentality has changed, which is one of the key reasons for needing a lot of them to move out, but some of the players that we've retained would be far better than we would have bought in the championship, because those really, really good players don't necessarily want to come to us right now, thinking, I mean, fans themselves, some of them were saying, oh, we're going to do the double drop, so, you know, to attract those real top quality players, we would never,

1:12:40I'll just think we were never going to do that, but to retain some of the players that we have is a bit of a coup, and as far as the money being spent, I would say a free agent is not free. In their last signing on bonuses, and other, other bonuses for playing and loyalty, and potentially for getting promoted, things like that, they'll have in their contracts. But the money that we might have spent on players has probably gone into wages, because some of those players that we were tired, even with the reduction, will be early massive wages for the championship, and that's all going to be painful. Do I think it's a good window? I don't think it's a bad window for the championship. Premier League, I don't think we're at a stage where we can do that, we're going to see how these season plans out before we can really decide whether these players are good enough for

So that's me, I'm not all doing good on it, but like wise, I don't think it's click-check, I don't think this team is clicked into place, but I'm hoping it will. What's your rating? I think the more players probably would have gone out if Robert Woods would still been here, because he was saying the players weren't good enough and making all those sort of excuses. Everyone had rid of Rob. Most people were on the fence or wanted Rob to go. I know there's

1:14:47some people that would have kept him and stuff like that, but it was a mentality change. We bought in Cesar Pizzato. He's come in. He's the one that's assessed this squad. He's the one that wanted Bertrand Troyora. He's had big influence on who stayed. Obviously, Andre stayed before Rob left and stuff like that. So for me, if you'd have told me at the end of the year, a lot of people thinking, oh, you go, when are they going to sell him? We're going to sell Rodrigo. We're going to sell Marna. Cesar's going and well, Cesar's still here. Precious still here. He's captain of Czechoslovakia. We've kept all of those players. If you just said to me at the end of last season, we'd have kept Rodrigo, Marna, Andre, Cretzky. You go, Bueno, and also, I've got to these are these. We didn't want to sell those sort of players. Mollowall's gone out, obviously, and the right back position is certainly a concern. But the job this year is to get promoted.

1:15:48That's the job. If you listen to the interview I did with Keira McGuire, which is the reason I did the interview with Keira McGuire, because he is an expert in football finances. That's what he does. And there are lots of opinions one way or the other. So let's talk to someone that knows what they're talking about. That's completely impartial. That can explain how it works. The championship for the stage has changed to a squad cost ratio. Whereas I think back in January, it was supposed to be still on the same as the Premier League, like as in Emma, she's been on transfers. So wages and how much she spends is going big. And I think from what he's saying, from when I spoke to him, walls have gone big on the wages at their pain in terms of the squad cost ratio, not necessarily on transfer fees, because the logs are raw and tripier. And you know, all of these

1:16:52players are on big money for the championship. He was saying that the average wage in the championships, about 15,000, 20,000, a week, walls are paying, even with the reductions, average of about 40,000 a week, which is top six championship payments money. So I think you have to take it into context. I agree with what Mani is saying about the concern about if we go up to the Premier League, because how many will be able to go, will there be needed to be obviously changes when we go to the Premier League, 100%. But that's the problem and a bridge you have to cross when you get to it. The job this year is to get promoted. And this squad, I don't agree with that Dave, I don't, because you know, Leicester, they got promoted. They didn't have transferable players for the Premier League and they got straight back down. Coventry, they got promoted. Good players. We got promoted. Yes, we got these players ago. You see, there's a such a wall that has to bring in certain players.

1:18:00I was agree with you. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So that was actually agreeing with what you're saying. Yeah, yeah. But I don't agree with the fact that we have to cross that bridge when we get there. That's not how you work. If I have a plan of going from here to there, I'm not saying I'll just get to here. I'm going to say that. I'm going to say this is my plan to get to there. And these, I'm not going to abandon all these tools at this point. And I'm going to see then what I have to do next. You know, it's kind of like saying 100% of nothing is nothing. If you don't get promoted, you don't even have that problem. You've got to get all. Yeah, you've got to get all. Everyone said, oh, the whole is going to be, you know, that's terrible. They've got eight points. Yeah. When Sunland the year before of Sunland, they're going to do it. We were top after three games in the Premier League game. You know, so that does happen. But Sunland last year was exactly the same. So I'll get what you're saying. But like how many of this squad are going to be going to be good?

1:19:03And I think they'll, you know, you really it's too early to tell in this season because like what we've all said, it's like we're literally on 11 points. We haven't even played really very well at the moment. And we haven't really clicked. So like this is without even playing well, how far can this bar go with the team that we've got? If this team is supposedly that good, that even playing bad that we're like three points beyond what happens when we start playing well, does that mean we're wise to use the gap between the division? It doesn't matter. It's voluntary. You had record points. And virtually there are 90 odd points. The gap is huge. And you know, the amount of money you have to spend to bridge that gap is huge and you have to do it in increments. We're starting from here. You can't have that vision of saying, okay, we'll get up. We've invested. Now we'll get up and now we'll start again. And you can't be that short, because it'll buy you. Honestly, it bit commentary, bit less fair. And you have to have the last time

1:20:05we got up, we stayed there because we had. Oh, man, we were brilliant. We were brilliant. I 100% agree on everything that you say. But if we don't get promoted, that isn't even a problem. We have to get up. We have to get promoted. And the job is to get promoted. That's the job. If we don't get up, none of that matters. We have to get this. I don't understand. You keep saying that. We know that this squad that we've got is good enough to go. What we've seen, we haven't played well. We've got three points off the top. So this squad, as long as he gets them playing the right way and gets the right personnel, should be good to fight for promotion this year. We know that. But the thing is, you've got to have a longer term vision than that. Just saying, oh, we've got to get up. But what happens then? Oh, we don't really know because we'll have to start again. We need. That's why it's a poor window for me. You know, we have the worst season statistically in our history last year. And there's a lot of dead wood. What did you get rid of?

1:21:14Dave, all this squad that we brought down with us were good enough. I worked good enough in the Premier League. I'm having a hard time doing that. What players out of this squad would you not have here that's in this squad right now? What you go, there's Jackson, Jackson, Mark, there's met me, Jones, they saw. You know, there's a high number. Yeah, yeah, for the Premier League, for the Premier League, I think we need a better gold keeper. I think we need to not take that more than that. No, it could happen. It couldn't not, it might not happen, but I'm on to saying is looking at all the way folks and have acted over the last four or five years, yeah, it might not happen. I haven't got much faith in them providing. And that's fair, that's fair, come because everyone has that little face, but obviously, you know, Jeff's gone six months ago, Nathan's a new person. We don't really, we don't really. Does there any, Dave, if they're going at the top, does it, you know, I can be there, I can go there and have a list of players and say, this is what I want. And this is how we're going to bring, bring us back. And if the guy

1:22:15that's up today, no, you're not, can you go in the loan market? Can you make sure they're only options and obligations? Can you, you know, then I'm limited. Doesn't matter how good I am. I think all I would say is balance, isn't it? And I think this is key. We look at, for example, you know, when we last came up, we did have some players who you'd probably regard as championship specialists. So like it's very Douglas who, you know, was with ourselves and with leads and it was decided for whatever reason, rightly or wrongly, that thank you very much, Barry, but we're going to move on without you, but you've done a great job. You know, you're John Ruddys. That's the balance, isn't it, really? And I think that's, that's what we're looking at. I think it's absolutely acceptable to buy players who are championship players because they know the lead, but it's that, it's that balance is and it's that forward thinking. I mean, if you look at the, the knees signing, for example, so he's a young lad, there's no option to buy. So there's,

1:23:16so whatever happens, he's going back to Newcastle, even if he does well for us. So that, to me, it gained just show. So I think what we need is the balance. I think collectively, okay, spots there or thereabouts, but we need a balance. And I think where we fell short is that, is, is that sort of medium to long term thinking? And I accept it. I've seen some comments to go, oh, well, they won't come into us, but you should know this league and you should know the likes of Jordan James. And there's not just a Jordan James. There's many players in this league who actually are a period of their careers where they can go to the next level. So if you have anything about you, you'll be signing, you know, equivalent Jordan James is. And that's where we've fallen short. Now, exactly. And I know when people talk about the loan system, because obviously we've got this Sean Neve who's come on loan, which is kind of like a third backup to Adam and Raoul. Personally, I would have liked to get Sasha personally, but there you go. That's me. But the loan

1:24:18system works both ways. We've had our loan system. We've had fair low pairs out on a loan that sell to Vega for a year. Look at him. He's come back into our team. Boom. Tommy Dawes, we know it's on loan. He came back and made a massive difference today. You know, Jigga was out on loan at Rangers. He's come back. That's what the loan system is for. You send people out on loan to get experienced so that they get game time, so they get banged around a bit, so they get a bit more service. So they come back better players and then they come back into your team. That's happened for us this year. So the fact that we've got a young lad from Newcastle and you know, maybe he'll go back to Newcastle, maybe he won't, maybe he'll be a success, maybe won't we don't know? Really. But that's just what it works. Play it. Loans go in and out. It works both ways. So for me, I don't think it's a bad thing that we've got a young lad with a ambition that's come in and playing. And we might not buy him at the end of the year. He's coming in to just be as

1:25:19a backup. He's an example, but the loans that we've sent out come into our squad this year. And there's a least two or three of them. They're making an impact. Will they may automate the step up to the Premier League? I don't know. Will we have free the spine of players? They're good enough to go to the Premier League when we go up next year? We'll see how the season pans out. If we end up walking away with a league, which may or may not happen, then we're too good for this league, anyway. So it is still a massive step up for next year. It's commentary are already fined, you know? But like we have had the experience of going up there. I mean, if Schwicks have been up and down, they've gone up this year and they're making a better start, commentary haven't been in the Premier League for 25 years. And all of a sudden it's welcome to the Premier League. Sunland last year, when they went up, they finished seventh. And they've had massive change over a staff day recruitment was just very, very good. I think the question is, is our recruitment team

1:26:19up to the job to do that? And that's the crux of it, isn't it really, Manet? And you have to look at the previous experience of our recruitment team. Our recruitment has declined and we've steadily, every season declined and we were holding on to the, you know, via fingertips to our Premier League survival until we completely dropped, you know, why keep selling your best players and not bringing the quality in. So it's completely acceptable because people say, oh, we've got to give you know, fans, you've also got to side with the paying public as well, you know, working, they're not paying on the money that these big players are on. They ain't them the money that folks have got. And they're right to be concerned, the way our club is being run. And I see it very short term over a number of seasons, very short term, very old SACMA manager January, let's buy a couple of players, let's survive. Okay, no, we're in

1:27:21the summer. Okay, we haven't really invested. Oh my god, we're back down again in November. SACMA manager, let's invest, let's try and get a few players and eventually it ran out and we, we of the bottom fell out. So this, this, this, this summer was the time to have that real defined, you know, we'll launch it. Great player. He went to Middlesbrough, you know, we should be on a par to compete with a Middlesbrough, we should be on a par to compete with a MLW, we should be on a par. But these players chose to go there. I'm pretty sure if there was a package for them, they would choose us over those types of clubs if we have that ambition and that vision. So there are more players at, at, at championship level, I agree, we're right, and there are players there who are young, who are hungry, who, you know, potentially are earmarked for brighter things. And we got one in and I was really pleased with that and I thought, oh, maybe we've just clicked and we know these are the types of players we need to bring in, we didn't bring enough.

1:28:23Sean leaves a good signing, but he should have been a backup to another striker that came in to give Raoul the rotation, a striker that could play in that similar role, not someone we're thinking, okay, because he can't get on the back of Sean Neve if he has a bad game. Is he hungry? That is his first ever season. So he's the, he's the nurturing, bringing in, maybe he'll come in, maybe he'll not. We've obviously decided the likes of Chihuahme and Nathan Fraser aren't good enough. We've decided that, I don't know if you're bringing another 19-year-old striker from another club, otherwise you bring them up. So we, you need that type of person. I agree with that, that they should have realized, okay, Raoul 35-36, that championship, they're going to kick you, they're going to bully you, they're going to pull you, they're going to, Matt Jackson's got that experience, he knows about it. You know, we need, let's just get another person in, maybe just to give him, bring him out, take him in, you know, or somebody who's in their 20s or something, you know, just

1:29:23on the fringes of maybe a club. And yeah, you could say, well, they might have gone for those players, but that's where they ambition, the vision, and you know, the bit about where people say, oh, well, you know, they don't want to, maybe they didn't want to come to walls. Well, there was a time where players did want to come to walls. So you sell, like me, I'll sell the vision of my business, I'll bring someone in and I'll make them bloody believe that this is the place for them. And you know, and I think that vision, the mentality, the long-term thinking has kind of disappeared over a number of years, this is not just this summer, over a number of years, and this is what we needed to change, and I didn't see much evidence of it changing in this window. I think that's obviously that's the view, and that's your view, and that's fair enough to have that view, but I think that a lot of everyone's views is certainly a skewed bottle, by the bottle, last three or four years, because we've seen this, like, as you say, this cycle of decline, and the trust has gone, and this is not just necessarily earned, yeah.

1:30:29Exactly, and so like this is like one that this is like pretty much the first proper transfer window where we've seen quite a bit of change, although maybe not enough, I mean, I do think you know, free's aren't free, people when they say free, it's not free, honestly, it's not free, there's a lot of money involved in free transfers, it just goes not on the front end, and it's all right, if we bring someone in and we pay 50 million for them, we paid 35 million pounds for Fabio Silver, and was that a good deal? If you can get good value, and they come coming into the... Some of our best signings have been, less fees today, haven't they? Yeah, we've sent out the money, this isn't about the money, it's about buying the right to lower players, so it's not, you know, we've, like you said, 35 million on a bloody 18-year-old, that he's sort of coming good now, but he was a stupid fee back then, and nobody wants to do that, nobody wants to see those days, it's not about saying, you know, let's spend 200 million pounds,

1:31:30so we've got, it's about, you know, Jordan James was an expensive, it was a, yes, it's still expensive, but it's not like not a groundbreaking fee, you know, it's still something that, you know, we should be able to manage and, and bringing those types of players. Yeah, and just like, obviously, just to, just to re-etote, watch the video that I did with Keir and Maguire, it's about 75 minutes, it's really interesting, West Ham's net spend this summer was minus 165 million, Burnley's net spend was minus 80 million, hours of minus 5 million, and 20 million and that was spent on Ladi's class, Cretchley, we had a, we had a thing to buy, so, you know, I think the biggest spend is this, in this summer window, in the championship of Stoke, with 30 million, they've actually spent, I think, the biggest, but what you, again, it's not just on transfers, it's not the money, it's not the one, the type of player, the profile of player. Exactly, so let's say it's going to be interesting to see how this season pans out,

1:32:32but I think, I think to, to be honest with this, on the transfer window, everybody's right on this, all answers are actually correct, and views on it because it's like what you've said, what who've said, what Emma said, I think everyone's view on it is correct because at the moment, we don't really know how good this team is really going to be, and how many of these players will be good enough during the season to be outing. That's a good drive. How have you been in the forum? What did Nathan basically say, if we don't go up, then, jobs are on the line, the kind of say, didn't they, you know, Matt Jackson, I said, that's fair, you're right, for any owner or any swore indirect, would ever say that, I wouldn't say that, would I about my job, if I don't, I've got my jobs on the line, I'll have to pay bills, I'm not going to say that, so that's, that almost creates even more uncertainty, I think, sometimes it's best to actually not say that, it puts you know, unnecessary, like almost you're in this bowl of, oh my god, I don't think

1:33:40anyone should actually say that, we just want you to perform and buy the right players, we don't actually want you to say that, we want you to say that we've got this vision, we're going to drive this club forward, we're going to get the right players in, and just, obviously they've lost that trust over a number of years, they are from me, I definitely, I'm not happy with the vision, I'm all about a vision, about real clarity and about, you know, this, what is that goal, not this one? You know what, I think that's important because we haven't really heard that from Nathan yet, I like what is the plan, what is the, the medium and look, you know, the one three and five year plan for this club, where you want to be, I think it would be good to hear that, and I think that if anyone do watch this, I think, look, the fans would really like to know what the roadmap is, is the vision, as in the Premier League, and then like look for someone to purchase and take it to the next level, or is it like, you're going

1:34:42you're going to pick up, I think, I think the way, the attitude that we have, and generally here, is like step up and show the ambition, or pass the baton on to someone who is going to show the ambition, but you know, you've got to have someone that wants to come in and buy it, and you know, the owners, they've got new owners at Chef Yolk, they've got new owners at Everton, they've been in post for a year, 18 months, and they're moaning about the new owners. And fans will always moan about when things are going wrong, and we're not spending money, and that's just the nature of it, but this is like we can only go on what we've got, that's all we can see, we can't see that, can we? So obviously, I think we really would be great to come out with an actual, this is the plan, this is what we're going to do, this is the ambition, which is what where we want to be in three years, five years, I'm not talking about 10 years, we're going to Jeff Kamehner, we're going to win Premier League in 10 years time. That's the next month, so see, he said, didn't he? I mean, that was stupid, really, you know, I mean,

1:35:46it was exciting to hear, but realistic, it wasn't realistic, was it, and you're quite right, you know, and that's what we need. So when they say, in 18 months, if we don't get our jobs on the line, I don't want to hear that, I want you to say, my jobs are on the line because I want to make it work, because I've got a vision that goes beyond this, and I will explain that to you, so that's what I want to hear. Yeah, you know, I think most people want to hear that plan, I think that would be really, really useful. Emma and Hoves just coming on that, you know, we're covering the transfer window, it's always, you know, put to it, everyone's views on it, and it's good discussion, good debate, done in the right way. Would you guys like to hear the club and, you know, to come out with an actual roadmap of what's going to happen, not just, you know, in terms of like the on field, but also the plans for the developments of the infrastructure and the production and the city and stuff like that, and all of that sort of stuff. 1:36:46years plan? Would you like to hear it? Like Emma, go for you first. Well, I've talked about these longer term plans for a long, long, long time, and the audience here will have heard me talk about it. What business doesn't have a one, three, five potentially longer plan? And you know, a football club is big business. Whether they want to share that plan with us is a totally different question altogether, but personally, I think they should be at least sharing a short to medium term plan. They're never going to come out and say the comes up for sale, I don't think. You're just not going to hear that because that limits the negotiating powers. But I think probably if someone came in the money, I do think those would probably sell. They just don't happen to be billionaires on every corner wanting to buy a football club. And if they do want to buy a football club, there's a lot of them for sale, not just walls, there's lots for sale.

1:37:53So yeah, I think some sort of knowledge of the plan and where they want to take up, but but would be good. Oops. Yeah, I think that I won't burden the point too much because it might just be repetition of what everybody shares so far, but so I'll just summarize it. I think to Emce Point, I think, yeah, my feeling and I have no inton information or my gut is fosing as a business will want to sell when they become a Premier League club to maximize, obviously, that doesn't seem kind of a wild show, does it really so? So they can't really come out and say, well, I'd just like you to get up and all they want and even know that's just kind of a gut feel that I have. I think the problem that we've had and I think money looting to this as well is this football club and its organization has been a very reactive football club. There's not been too many proactive signs within the football club and I mentioned it earlier, you know, we were

1:38:56close to losing their academy status. So what they did is they quickly went right, we're going to need to put some more infrastructure in place. We saw the debacle of women's team, oh, we're going after Remedie that and this is the issue and I think this is a concerning point. So of course, I'd absolutely love to kind of get a long-term vision, a plan, a strategy and all big all businesses need that but my concern is that the way in which they've operated certainly over the last few years is also, and this is a very reactive business. You know, when we, you know, when we decided to start our manager, wish grabble around to see who we're going to get, oh, actually, it's that Gary O'Neil, he was a member of us a couple of years ago, so he'd get him back in maybe or she'll get somewhere else, you know. This is far from just coming on because we've ever said this, she said about Nathan, I like the fact that he was ruthless, then they got rid of Rob, but they had to go to Lando, that's the first time that's happened in a long time, that's different because we didn't scramble around for a manager, we had someone to come in, even though we didn't know who he was. Well, they just forgot to tell Rob that, but yeah, exactly, but how long was that

1:39:59planning for we shouldn't for, you know, we don't know because we were, we are in the sanctum of that, but the way I saw that, I agree, was that that wasn't something that we should kind of knew from day one, I genuinely believe he was going to go with Edward's next season and something changed, and we, you know, there are assumptions we can make, whether or not it's people like Mendez on the shoulders to go, I'll back you and I'll help you, but the conditional is that you get rid of this, we don't know, do we, but yeah, you're right, that may be something that was quite seamless, but every football club organization needs to look at things in a sense of, if you're doing well, your players may go, so who is your next player? If you're chief exec, you're doing a good job, who's the next chief exec, the next manager, you always need to be looking at the next step, be it good, bad, indifferent, and there should be plans for any eventuality, but unfortunately, we're weighted by the fact that for many years this football club

1:41:00appears to have operated on a very reactive basis, and there's many, many examples we could use for that, so I would like to see a plan, but what I'm saying is I'm perhaps not confident that actually that plan can be relatively, unfortunately. And I think that's really fair, because I think everyone agrees with that, especially under Jeff, who's now gone, it was definitely a lot, and there's a lot of, there's mess that's still been mopped up and having to be fixed. You talk about the academy, you talk about the women's team and stuff like that, you talk it to both of those some nearly crashing for things to start being done. Look at the women's team today, and we should, by the way, as we talk about the women's team, special share, they played a way against Newcastle last week, being established in their league for three years. The first 20 minutes, I think, was difficult, settled in, and you know, only lost 2-0, and they beat in the first home match in WSL2, this is history for them at this level,

1:42:01and they won the game three one today, and they've had a lot of changes in their squad this year, and that was a great, I watched some of it at the service, and they've been weight-roads in Sheffield, didn't we, Emma, the second half of that match on the street. Well, I watched it, yeah, and it was brilliant to see, and you know, these are all evidence of the reactive things, and I think what we want to see is some proactive thinking, and it all comes back to your point, man, which you've made just to finish off this section, and guys, if you've got any questions for the guys, leave it in thing, comes back to your point, which is correct, is about forward thinking, a forward planning, isn't it?
