Rangers Captain Calls for Unity After Heartbreak | Belfast News

Rangers captain Lawrence Shankland is rallying the team for unity after a brutal start to the season, following their heartbreaking Conference League exit on penalties against Jablonec — and coming off an earlier Europa League departure. Shankland apologized to fans, calling it one of the team’s worst moments, admitting it’s tough to stay together when things are going poorly — but stressing that’s precisely when they need to stick together most. He acknowledged they simply weren’t good enough across both legs, struggled to control the game in the second half, and failed to create enough clear chances or deliver game-changing moments. With just two wins in seven games and mounting pressure on manager and squad ahead of their next match, Shankland’s message is clear: resilience is now non-negotiable.
