at sad visiting professor at Ole Miss and the author of suicidal empathy. All right, Dad said, why are men and women not getting along? You know, I probably received Jesse three, four desperate emails a week from women saying, I go out to a bar to meet some beautiful, hunky man and no one will approach me. And I think the problem with that is quite simple because from this side of your mouth, you say that you want to meet lovely men, but then you take your women's studies classes where apparently if a man approaches to seduce you, he's engaging in sexual harassment. So most men become peppered. They sit on the couch, as you said. Maybe they'll just surf and watch porn rather than be accused of being verbal rapists. So we have some real issues with our sexual dynamics. I hope that we can turn it around soon because our civilization depends on us having sex. It sure does. And we have to have sex like our life depends on it.

The art of seduction you're saying is being criminalized. Also isn't the fact that you can sit at home and basically anything you want is it the tip of your fingers? Exactly. Look, the dynamics between men and women is that women wish for men to pursue them. I mean, don't be creepy about it. Don't be rapier about it. But there is a signal that is sent when a man has to develop the courage, the charisma, the sophistication to approach you, given that the odds of him being rejected are high. That's part of how women choose the pretenders from the real deal. And so once we remove that calculus, it becomes easy for everybody to sit in their sweats at home and there goes the fertility rate of the Western nations. It should men think about like baseball. Even if you're bad, 300, you're still going to the All-Star game. You can't be afraid to strike out. Exactly right. It is a numbers game. But I fully understand the fact that it truly does take

huge courage for a most men to approach women. So you could be maybe calculated if you're a six on the mating market, maybe don't take a shot at a 10. But there's somebody for everywhere, for everyone, take a shot, get out there, meet your beautiful person, and make babies. What about the dating apps? How do they factor into this? Well, they make it so much simpler for people to do the swiping right and left. I think you and I are probably old enough to never have gone through this. Sometimes I sit with my wife on the couch and I go, thank God that we've been married for 26 years. Because it seems to me like a complete mystery that people can choose life partners by swiping left and right. Probably not a good technological advance. And the young children, they mean if your teenagers used to go into your friends' houses all the time, you used to run around. Everybody was outside. Why aren't people going outside anymore? Yeah, so there is a term. This is not my term. It's called nature deficit, this order.

The idea is that we have a bio-philic interest. We have an innate love of nature that actually regulates our hormones that makes us feel good. I could run on a treadmill or run in the forest. The exact same mileage, I'll get a lot more benefit if I do it outside in nature. So yes, go outside and play, go to the bar and meet the lovely people, stop laying in your couch. All right, we call it forest bathing on Jesse Waters' prime time. And maybe it'll lead to something else you never know. Like actual, I don't want to say it. Gad said great to talk to you as always. Thank you so much. You're sure? Cheers. Thank you. What happened?
