0:00It's March 26. You're listening to Music News today, AI-powered coverage of the music industry. Paul McCartney just announced his first solo album in over 5 years, titled The Boys of Dungeon Lane. It drops on May 29th through MPL and Capitol Records, and he's already shared the lead single, Days We Left Behind. This follows up his 2020 release, McCartney III, which fans loved. Paul recorded it over 5 years with producer Andrew Watt, fitting sessions in between his busy tours in Los Angeles and Sussex. The album dives deep into his early life in Liverpool, touching on post-war childhood memories, his family's resilience, and those pre-beetles bonds. With John Lennon and George Harrison, it also mixes in some fresh love songs from later years. No label deadlines push this one along. It grew purely from Paul's ongoing passion for music and stories from his past. Press calls it his most introspective work yet, taking listeners right back to his roots.
