Alex Golden and Mike Facci are back for another episode of Setting The Pace, and for the first time this season, we finally got to see the new-look Indiana Pacers take the court together!
The guys recap everything they saw from Pacers Fan Jam, beginning with the scrimmage and an impressive performance from Kelly Oubre Jr.
Oubre led the way with 17 points, giving Pacers fans their first glimpse of the scoring punch and energy he can bring to this roster. Ivica Zubac added 12 points and six rebounds, while Tyrese Haliburton was back on the floor doing Haliburton things after his long-awaited return to action.
Alex and Facci break down the scrimmage, go through the stats and discuss what stood out from Indiana's first public action together.
Of course, there's only so much you can take away from a Fan Jam scrimmage. Nobody was going full speed, the intensity wasn't close to a regular-season game and the entire event was designed to put on a show for the fans. Still, it was a fun first opportunity to see how all of the new pieces looked alongside one another.
Then, things get interesting.
The guys pivot to the annual rookie singing and dancing competition, where Rienk Mast, Keba Keita and Braden Smith had to show off their talents in front of the Gainbridge Fieldhouse crowd.
Who had the best performance? Who deserved to win? And, more importantly, what songs would Alex and Facci choose if they were forced to grab a microphone and sing in front of thousands of Pacers fans?
Basketball is officially back in Indiana, and the guys have plenty to discuss after a fun first look at this year's Pacers!

This is Tari's Albert and you're listening to Setting the Base. Pacer Nation, what is going on? Oh, welcome back to another episode here of your go to Pacer's podcast and making his try-up of return. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up. We're the one
the only Michael J Fachi Fachi. How was your week off? A week off was good. I had to handle some business. I had to tap into the other side. My clerk can't a K.A. Michael Fachi side rather than just Fachi or Fachi. I was on a work trip, but I'm happy to be back. Talking Pacer basketball with you, no other place I'd rather be. We actually got some basketball today because we had the Pacer's Fachi. Now, it was only one 12-minute period, which is quite a bit less than what we've been used to or our customers seeing here from the Fachi. I mean, I was like two six-minute-half basically, but it was just weird. I mean, I don't know. It felt like it was very fast, very rushed, but great turnout. It sold out event. It sold out in like hours. We had the rookie sing-off with Braden Smith, Rank Mask, and Kibaketa. I know you weren't there for the event because you're obviously not in anyapolis, but I was there for the event. It was fun just to be around everybody and just to
be around the team again. So many people excited for what this Pacer season is going to, you know, having store for us. But Haliburde was introduced by Rick Carlisle and the fans gave him a crazy ovation, and this is just a scrimmage game, so you can only imagine what that's going to be like on opening night. I feel like he felt it. You could feel it just watching from the clips and everything that I saw. It was just awesome to have him back. I know we're talking about essentially one quarter worth of basketball that was played 12 minutes. It's really not much to go off of, but I mean, the fact that he's out there even doing anything is an incredible sign. I know he feels really good. He said, you know, in terms of, you know, after Fan Jan, this is the best that his body's felt. So I think that's really positive. And all it took, you know, like I said, like you said, I wasn't there in the building, but all it took was for me to see that clip. That no look bounced past to Zubat's to just get fired up and know that it's like we are going to see so much
more of that throughout the regular season that that was the appetizer. That was the snack, you know, just something a small dose that you can't wait to have more of. Yeah, what's I think it's kind of telling is like the very first made basket of the game was a Halliburton dish to zoo. And the very last play of the game, that was a basket, was a Halliburton dish to zoo. So a very, you know, a book end right there for Halley and Zoo combination. But I think we need to start things off by talking about the player of the game for the Scrimmage game. And that is Kelly Ubrei Jr. I mean, my goodness, this guy came to put on a show. He went seven to 10 from the field three of six from the three point line. 17 points for Kelly Ubrei and his Pacers debut here in the Scrimmage game. A lot of fans like the way that he played. And I mean, how could you not? I mean, he was everywhere. I mean, I, we're going to keep probably saying, I know it's just fan jam, but could he have played any better? I mean, think about that like
17 points and just 12, you know, that's a game action for, you know, when you're your newest editions, you could say, I feel like if there's any one who wasn't maybe as excited about Kelly Ubrei, you should be. This is a guy that could really make an instant impact. And I know it's like essentially like the second unit or, you know, whatever you want to call the reserves. But you led the reserves to a win. And you know, whether you want to look into this win or not, Kelly Ubrei Jr. did everything and more that you could have possibly asked for. And to me, I feel like it's a, it's a scene was fit. He seemed really excited about this and the buzz around, you know, fan jam. So I honestly cannot wait to see more Kelly Ubrei Jr. as the season goes on. Or so what I, what I think is really interesting about the blue team is they only had one point card on the roster and great. And that was Braden Smith. Tejama Connell did not play. He was hurt Quentin Jackson did not play. He was hurt as well as Johnny Furfie and Larry and Junior, which we already kind of knew about them from earlier in the week. But I don't know what's going on
with TJ or with with Quentin, but they were held out from today's, you know, game for whatever reason. So yeah, I just thought it was interesting because I thought Braden Smith actually looked a lot better in this scrimmage game than he did during summer league. But once again, we talked about this. Look at who he was playing with in summer league. You put him around actual NBA rotational players. He's going to look a lot different. But I just thought the way Ubrei Jr. You're like the very first play of the game. It didn't result in the in the blue team making a basket. But he tried throwing a lob pass to Oby Topp and like the pass was spot on. And earlier this week, J. Huff touched on how Kelly Ubrei is good at throwing a lob. So it's like, here's a guy that can definitely catch lobs. But the fact that he can actually throw him to like maybe his passing is a little bit of an underrated part of his game that we haven't talked about. That's very possible. And I have not really heard that come up. I haven't heard people saying like, Hey, underrated pass or you know, Chris Patser really have not heard that about Kelly. But yeah, you got to be thrilled about 17 points.
The three point shooting three of six. This is someone that we've hoped till like we squinted our eyes. It's been like, well, last year was a career year from three. Like could you add to it? And I feel like he can. We don't want to look too too far into this. But it's a very encouraging sign to just be like, Hey, three of six shooting Indiana is where you go to improve your shot. Ask a guy like TJ McConnell and plenty of others along the way. So something to be excited about. No doubt about that. Where do you think most of his three point shots that were made came from? I'm gonna say the quarters, the corner three. And last year he shot 46% on corner three point shots. Hey, if you've got a sweet spot, get to it. And this offense will find you in it. But let's continue with the blue team. Just kind of going through some of the stats there. J Huff, two of three from the field for seven points. Not too bad. He did hit a three pointer. He's been rocking the headband. I'm kind of curious your thoughts on headband. Huff. It was kind of a talking point of practice. And he was like, I'm gonna do what the fans think. So the fans have
voted on an eye Pacers, uh, Derek Kramer's Twitter account poll and basically said, keep the headband. Keep the headband. I'm a fan of headband, Huff. They add another nickname to this man's list. I feel like when you're like, when you're going bald and you're in like that type of uh, stage your life, like, yeah, the headband, it's a good transition. So, but how burden, uh, said it best. And I believe it was you who asked. What do you think of that, Huff? So when he just said, look, I don't really care. But what I do want, and I'm paraphrasing this is, you know, three point of making Huff rebound and Huff. I think shop lock and Huff all that I agree with. So if you can do that with the headband, then don't take it off. All right. So headband Huff, I hope he's here to stay. Yeah. He was so funny. Tyres could not be more annoyed with the question. Did not seem to mused it all by me asking you. The clever question. No, it was. It was some of I guess it was different. I mean, I don't know why I asked it. I probably could have asked about the shoes because he had a really cool pair of shoes on that a fan actually designed. I'm sure you
saw that post from the Pacers or Oliver and rock the pair of shoes that someone designed and sent into them when they all sent the how they well wishes. Uh, the Pacer fans sent those in and, uh, as he was going through as a killer's recovery. But I don't know. I just thought about Huff and it was just funny to me because I kind of wanted to hear his thoughts on it. But yeah, I mean, J Huff, he won the tip and hit a three. So we keep seeing what he does on the on the on the glass and what he does dunk in the basketball. But I thought honestly like one of the best place he had was Kelly Ubreg got a rebound and threw a full court pass to top and top and was kind of like falling out of bounds. But then he threw a touch pass right to Huff and Huff slammed at home in transition. So I just I love seeing that play. And I think that Oby top and he didn't really shoot the ball hardly at all in this game. But he drove to three right there on that left elbow in front of his wife and his mom and his kids. And then he also got foul by her and he's with the top of the key for three and hit all three free throws. So I mean, pretty solid performance from top
and considering he wasn't trying to do too much. You know, when you talk about having a family that stands here reminds me of a time that I dropped six points in front of Amy and my wife. You know, we were choosing my girlfriend at the time. I was proud of the six. I find out that she goes, yeah, you like barely even scored. I was like, barely even scored. I dropped six. Like, where were you? You know, so to me, it's like, Oby Topin didn't need that type of game. He hit a nice three. He got a win. You know, that's that's and I'm sure his daughter didn't really care much about the difference. Just happy to be around and all that. So it's daughter's super cute. But, you know, for the boot team, yeah, they handled business. And I feel like sometimes we kind of hear that at times of like, hey, the reserves. I feel like sometimes they might, you know, go a little bit harder, bring a little bit extra energy. I know how a burden was saying, hey, you know, things are different in practice. All that type of stuff. But you want that type of competitive spirit. Because we've talked about how like this bench unit, if you want to really compare them to a few years ago, yeah, maybe it's not as great as when the patients have like the number one bench
unit in NBA at this point, like three seasons ago, maybe even close to four. But I feel like there's enough talent on that bench to feel like they could push the starters and help get them better. So in regards to the white team, though, I mean, there definitely was a couple of highlights, you know, Zubas really, you know, wearing the Pacer jersey for the first time, Ego six of seven, you know, in this game, it's it's 12 points. I want to say it was about six boards. Is that right? Yes. It's a three defensive at 12 and six and under 11 minutes. I mean, that six boards. I don't want to say shots fired that that's more than Turner's averaging it, you know, for an entire game, he's doing it in 11 minutes. So there's a lot to be encouraged about. Yeah, I honestly, like the white team was so bad from outside, they made one three pointer the entire quarter. One of, I think it was one of 11 from the field or from three point lines. So there were some bad ones. There was one Aaron Eastmith took and it missed everything and landed right in Zubas lab.
He put it in thank God Zubats is on this team because if not the whites, he would have lost by 30. I mean, they were terrible. See, I come having one point on a free throw. He went one to two from the free throw line. I mean, that's terrible. Needsmith one of five Nimhard two of four. Like, Halleburden, he really didn't get going to like the last six minutes of the game. He had about a little stretch there. He scored seven eight. A row, he had a step back two over Braden Smith, got the foul. Then he had a step back two over Shepherd. And then he had a step back three. All of his made baskets were step backs. Four sister turnovers. There is a little bit of sloppiness there. It's really not kind of hard to tell because it didn't feel like the guys were obviously going 100% going about 75. You know, they were somewhat playing but not not playing. I mean, they weren't playing Zubar. They don't want to get hurt. Obviously, this is a scream edge game for fans. It's about fun and that kind of stuff. But for big zoo, like, I don't know. I don't think big zoo really knows how to just like not just play how he does. Like, he probably wasn't going 100%. But I mean, he was down there banging. He was down there getting rebounds. He was pump fake, dunk the ball. I love that. So
no, honestly, just seeing big zoo and like how he can have a presence in the paint. It's going to matter, especially when real games start happening. But we're going to chance to see more of that on Wednesday as they play the Minnesota Timberwolves in Iowa at Iowa State in that arena there. So I'm just I left from this scream edge game really encouraged with the way zoo looked. And yeah, I'm just I'm hoping that we can continue to see just that development of chemistry between him and the starters. I continue to form. Yeah, that's all we could really ask for. That's why I feel like it's just like a bonus having fan jam because of how burden didn't play in this game. I don't think anybody would have, you know, bad and I it would have been like, okay, yeah, it makes total sense. Like he shouldn't be out there. So I was just treat this as hey, we got a first look at how burdens do bots together. There's definitely, you know, there could be some some budding chemistry there that you could be very excited about. If someone didn't play well, the funny thing is you can kind of crumple it up and throw it out the window. Somebody did play well, you can compliment.
So it can go either way, but nonetheless, I'm not worried about seeachum not scoring. You know, this is like this is a honey, you want to say like a glorified practice because you might make an argument that maybe practice goes harder than this. You know, you could. So I think for this, just fun to just see the boys put the jersey back on, play some actual basketball together because we have this has been the longest off season we could really imagine because it feels like last year was just waiting to get to this point, you know, in general. So the weight is almost over preseason basketball is like right in front of us, almost for the grabbing. And for that will be another take this with the grain of salt because there could be a situation where maybe the starters aren't really even playing much of the second half. I don't know. The one thing that I feel like extra encouraged about is maybe it's time to stop like baby and hell burden. Like maybe he really is going to be all right. And like we had gone through so many
different stages. It might take 20 games. He might not play back to backs and maybe that that still happened to knows, but to be out there right now feels like he's going to be playing in the preseason. Feels like he's going to be getting those reps. And it feels like he's going to be having his confidence back because this is a way that like players coming off of torn Achilles is typically they're rushing back probably a little bit earlier than they should be because they want to be out there. But like with how burden it comes down to really him and Kevin Durant or the only players I can think of that had like substantial time off that exceeded 12 months or more. And how burdens instant it's going to be about 16 months, which it really doesn't get any better than that from our recovery standpoint. No, it doesn't. And you know, like I said, it's really hard to kind of read anything from these scrimmage games just or this scrimmage game specifically just because I don't know how hard he was going. And there was a couple of times where when he like drove and he had a turnover, it looked really rusty at a really bad pass in the corner that got stolen.
I was like, like I part of me was like, is he going through the motions or is just just like a little bit of rust because he hasn't played a while. I'm like, I don't want to read too much into it because of the scrimmage game. And I'm like, I'm not going to write anything negative about anything he did in the vlog or the recap because it's like I'm not trying to be negative or do feel like that. Like how about look a little rusty still ways way like I'm going to say that. Like what kind of take is that after a scrimmage game where the guy didn't even go probably 100% but no, I just I think overall like seeing him just hit some buckets over some guys, even if they're not like the greatest defenders in Braden Smith and Ben Shepherd. Just just good to see him back out. They're getting some reps and seeing that chemistry to be like, my favorite play probably was like the last play he made a zoo when he like dribble behind his back and kind of got the defense frozen. And then he hit the little bounce pass to zoo and zoo dunked it or later then I can't remember. But it was just a really nice place. So other than that, I want to go back to the blue team real quick because I thought Braden Smith actually played pretty good in this game. Yeah, a really great read on a Halliburton pass to them hard.
Then he jumped that pass, got a steal, led out to a trans and transition for a fast break too. And then later in the game, he got Zubat switched on to him. And he actually had a step back three over. He beats the two bots and I was like, wow, okay. Like I'm not saying like that's going to be his like new thing, but like I definitely feel like a three point shot is way more possible for him than it is for Tijama. Yeah, at this point, thinking that McConnell is going to develop late in his career, it's like, from a three point standpoint, is a little bit far-fetched. He's definitely,
he went from, like, it's not even a possibility, to, like, you know, he could maybe make one on any given night. But I think for Brian Smith, there's definitely very much hope. And that's something we want to see him work on with the boom. Didn't get better. It was encouraging to hear that he's put on about 15 pounds, you know, I'm going to imagine a large part of that is muscle, not just over all 15 pounds. He said good way. He's drafting the zoom. Yeah, like, you know, I mean, it's better than that Chet Hombren graphic where it's at a game of pounds. It's like, as he gone to the bathroom yet, I mean, two pounds. That ranges every few hours. So I just feel like for, for Breed Smith, that is encouraging, you know, he's got to definitely beef up his size and prove his three point shot. Just like, you know, I think it was Chad basically saying he wants to see him be like, better score around the rim, those type of things, because he's already undersized, you can't go, you can't force growing at this point, I'm not going to grow anymore inches, but you can put on a little bit more muscle. And for Breed Smith, I love this was like, we needed to see something
positive because the last impression from summer league just kind of left a bad taste in your mouth. So I am excited to see some positive play during preseason where then like the talk can become a little bit more positive because it was just hard for me to say too much positive stuff coming off of summer league like they're just that that's almost like trying to sell yourself on something you didn't see. And I'm glad that that really nobody shook her coated it. Like, everybody was pretty honest about the type of play that we saw. And the good news is he's got plenty of opportunities to get better. Well, and what I actually liked the most about everything that went down in summer league is what Chad told us is like how hard on himself that he was. And, you know, I think everybody's their biggest critic usually when they don't play well, like, there's times when I do a podcast and I'm like, man, I said a terrible. And then some people, like, I love that show. That was a great one. I said, I sound terrible. What are you talking about or whatever? Like, and that's just on a way smaller scale than a basketball game. And I just kind of feel like for Breed and Smith, there's a guy that he understands what it takes to be a good
basketball player. Now, if he's able to put it all together against symbiolive competition, that's another thing. But like, I think he at least gets it up in the head. Like, I'm going to use this time to develop. I'm going to really put the work in like you can tell, like this guy works really hard. Like, we'll talk about a lot more stuff in our next episode, kind of going over some things from training campings and stuff like that. Maybe some of this stuff we've mentioned here will be reiterated on there. But I just had you played well. And honestly, like, I know, Jaros Walker didn't necessarily shoot the ball very well. Just one of five, but the first made basket for the blue team was Jaros Walker rebounding a Kelly Ubrej Jr. misshot and dunking it. Like, that's not something you typically have Walker let alone, you know, crashing the glass and throwing it down with here. I'm going to say it force, but also he also led the blue team in assists with three. And he had a steal. So it's just one of those things where it's like, yeah, I'm not going to like make a big deal about his shooting performance. It wasn't great one of five. He didn't look great shooting the basketball. But if he can do the little things
that's to fit in with this group, I think that's more important than, hey, how many points did he score? What was it exactly? Exactly. Like, Carl, I was been trying to emphasize that, that you know, do all the little things right. Hey, there's a lot of value in that. You can still get paid, you know, thinking things of that instance. But I also feel like it's true though. I mean, we don't need Jaros to be honestly, we don't even really need him to be like a top six or seven scoring option on this team. Like that, that's how crazy. Like there's, there's, you got the five starters, you got your obi top and your Kelly Ubers. And then there's still like, you know, a TGM McConnell that could be good for close to 10 points per night. So it's scoring is not going to be the main thing. But like sure, you don't want to shoot one of five from the field. But like, do the couple passes here and there rebound, do the dirty work. You know, how do you play it for us? Just like you mentioned, a little bit of everything can round out to end up being a pretty good game. And you know, this might not have been it, but I still think that there's good basketball ahead of
them. And yeah, Excel at the little things in your role. And then overall, the team is going to excel. That's really kind of where we're at now, which are us that there might be a bigger opportunity that comes throughout the season. If, you know, maybe you know, knock on what I really hope that nobody gets hurt. And I hope it's more of his play starts to take off and he has a bigger opportunity. But for right now, we don't need him to average 13 points or more to be able to say that he had a good game. All right, let's move on to the last portion of the fan jam. And that is the rookie singing dance off. And so before we kind of get to it and kind of what I mean, I put out about a seven minute video here on our YouTube page of all three of the performances from the players, plus their little dance off at the end. And then comments from Halleburden, Kelly Ubrej Jr. and brain Smith on just participating in the venue like what that dance off and sing off was like. But here's what we got, Flaunch. We got Gidecaiada singing party in the USA by Miley Cyrus, ranked mass singing. I want you back by the Jackson five and brain Smith singing die young by Kesha.
If you were a rookie in the NBA, what would your song choice be to sing in front of a crowd? I feel like they always go with those type of like, uh, like a girly type of songs. They're going to go with something that's going to, you know, kind of be a little bit embarrassing. You know, they're not going to, no one's going to be wrapping 50 cents songs or anything like that. So, um, I guess if I'm thinking like to say something on that type of like genre of music, like I'm a 90s guy I grew up with with, you know, some backstreet boys and then syncs. So I'm going to buy buy buy to be honest was the first song that came in mind. I'll be honest. That was the very first song that popped in my head. So I think that's probably what I would end up going with if I want to like, you know, be, be real in terms of what was the first song that came to mind. What about you? Yeah, I think, uh, I'm surprised you didn't say a genre Denver because I feel like that would be right after. Yeah, country roads would definitely be a nice go to. Yeah, what? I think buy, buy, buy would probably get the people up just a little bit more like a little bit of upbeat or, you know,
country roads, you got your arms round together and you're like united, but I feel like buy, buy, buy, buy is very upbeat. And I'm not saying that buy, buy, buy is like a, you know, like a better song than country roads. They'll sing that across, you know, the, the US even in other countries. But buy, buy, buy, you know, the 90s that got the people on their feet. Yeah, I just, you want one that fans are going to sing along to, right? Yeah. Um, you know, Jack of Diana would be a good one as well, just because that's an Indiana song as well. Yeah, but no, I just, I think out of these three, like I would probably prefer party in the USA by Miley Cyrus the most out of the way. Oh, yeah. No, it's definitely, uh, it's definitely a catchy one. Like, um, you know, I just, yeah, I'll give her that. I think Kebuketa, the only words he knew were I throw my hands up after that. He knew nothing else lyrically. And Tyree's Haliburne said in his post, fan jam interview that, uh, Keita, like, so I don't, I want to get your thoughts on this too, because Haliburne revealed that he allows the rookies to pick their own songs, but they have to run it through him to make sure that
it's okay. Now before I believe Miles Turner when he was in charge of this event, would pick the songs for the rookies and tell them what they were singing. So, and he has lean balls over here. A new regime, new rules, Haliburne, that's, uh, that's a giving man right there to say, all right, I'll let you pick, but I got to have the final say. I like that. I like that because some people might just be like, Oh, this is just like too much. Or, you know, I really just have no idea with this song. But I always wanted the same thing because I see him out there and there's like, you know, no phone and in their hand, they're reading off of like Madsen and the karaoke machine or anything of that sort. So I was giving credit because it's hard to memorize a song and then you start to then break it down. I'm like, how much time are they spending trying to memorize the words this song? Is that like nonstop for like 24 hours? 30 of the song too. So it's just the first 90 seconds. Pretty much. Yeah. Yeah. So all they have to do is memorize it before they go sing at that day. But he said, I thought Kater would spend all night the night before cramming for this. And
it looks like he didn't. That's all sense. Yeah. You gotta put some time. I thought Rank Mass probably did a better job of singing. I want you back. And I think the crowd was more into it. I don't think dye young was a very good pick by Smith personally. I was just like, okay, like he was like trying to get the crowd into it, walking around the around the arena like, come on, everybody's singing with me. Like they were just kind of looking at him. And I'm like, yeah, you didn't pick a great song. But I do think it's hilarious that the song he wanted to sing was tequila. And how the burden said no, because it's one word. Yeah. Yeah. That is almost a loophole of just like, easy to memorize, but yankin now that easy. Rook. Yeah. That would have been very funny to see him sing tequila just to kind of see how the crowd responded because I think it could be very fun. Like I honestly don't think it would have been a bad choice. But I would have told Smith that he has to kind of do something before he gets to that word. You know, I'm saying like, you gotta do this song. You gotta add some more to it. Like, whatever. You know, I don't know. I thought it was fine,
but like, that was cool. And then we got to the dance off. And because it was like, oh, we got a tie between Mass and Smith. I really didn't think it was that close in terms of the fans reaction. I thought Smith pretty much dominated both times, but they did the ducky. And it was in prompt to it was not something that they were ready for. They did not know it was coming. None of them knew the ducky dance. I think at this point, the ducky is kind of old for these guys. So it kind of is, because I always just think of like, I remember, you know, John Walls from the 2010 draft. So you're really talking about like 2009 at that point. I mean, I'm showing my age. That's when I graduated high school. You know, it's been quite some time here. As always, every episode I find subway realize as we were talking, I was fine. Some way to be like, I am old. Because like every time we record, but it just happens. But anyway, it's like, yeah, for a rookie coming in that might be, I don't know, but 21, 22 years old, the ducky being like 15, 16 years old is you're probably not
remembering that. I guess that's probably what it must have been like to do like, I don't know, like the mock arena or something like that when we were young. You know, like, dude, doing some type of throwback dance that now. Everybody is like, what is that? But I guess it's kind of how it was. Yeah. The cup of chupple. That would be a fun one. Yeah. Yeah. But I thought Halliburton and Ubrez response to the dance was great. Ubrez was like, Oh, God, that was terrible. Like, they they have no idea how to stay on rhythm. And he said that he remembers in his rookie year, having to do some dance off. But like they didn't do the ducky because that costumes, right? He said something along those lines. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it was fun of it. Glad it's over. Now we can focus on actual basketball stuff and get really excited for the season. First preseason game is Wednesday. We'll have a preview for that in a couple of days. But tomorrow, we're going to be touching on all things that have been like the main talking points of training camps. So far, I feel like that'd be kind of a good way to kind of like break down what's going on, like, not just from like the performance we saw today, but just everything that they've been working on,
things that guys are saying about fitting it with the team and things like that. So I'm excited for that. But I hope anybody that went to PanGam had a good time for the people that I met that listened to this podcast. I met about four or five different people that said, Hey, Alex, really appreciate the podcast and love hearing you guys and listen every day. So it was really cool to meet the people to pick some pictures and some fans as well. You know, just it's crazy to me every time I end up walking around people like, Hey, Alex, I'm like, what's your name? You know, yeah, it's just it's so it's so surreal to me that, you know, we've been doing this eight seasons now for a while. And there's been people that have been along for the ride from from day one. And that is a wild thing about it. It really is. I mean, I still always just appreciate anybody that's ever giving us the time of day. You know, there's a lot of competition out there, what you could be listening to. So the fact that you guys, you know, carve out that 30 to 45 minutes, 30 to 60 minutes, whatever it may be for us, we will always be appreciative of that. And like we said before,
hey, you don't always have to agree with our opinion. You know, we could be wrong. You could be right. You could be right. Like there's so many different ways when you're passionate about a team, anything that you're just you're entitled to your opinion. And I always want to make sure that everybody is entitled to your opinion because that's what makes this fun. So keep the comments coming, keep the feedback going what you guys like, what you guys don't like anything in between. And Alex and I will always do our best to deliver to you guys. Absolutely. I had actually someone message me today, Fetchy and say that they were asking if the preseason games are going to be on the zone, right? And so I think for people that aren't aware, all preseason games, all four of them will have the normal broadcast with Chris Quinn and JJ on the zone. And then if you're a league pass person like Fetchy, that's out of like out of market. You can watch all those games on league pass. That's how it should be set up. If you have any issues with that, I'll try to help you out as much as possible. But that that's the thing. Carl, I'll mention it once again. You can still download the zone locally for 60 bucks for the season. I mean, that's a pretty great deal. That's a great deal. It's honestly league pass is like, it's like 110 is a little over a hundred bucks.
So like $60 for the year is a steal. It's a steal. And it's on price and like a lot of like, you know, Jeremiah Johnson was on this podcast. That's why I was getting into this conversation. Because this person message man asked me this and I said, well, Jeremiah Johnson confirmed this last week on the podcast that all the preseason games will be on the zone and also mentioned that there's going to be some other games on national tell are on a local television. I think there's 15 games that are going to be on 59 or CBS 4. So that's really good as well. Just really trying to make it easier for people to get a hold of and whatnot. But the fan that by the name of clay that reached out to me said, I'm about 20 episodes behind. But I try to listen every day. And I'm like 20 episodes. You got like three weeks of listening to do forget the old one. Just start listening to the new it's because there's so irrelevant three weeks ago that what they are now. 100% this is not episodic in terms of like, hey, you know, to be continued or you know, you're going to totally be left in the dust. If you know, you'll listen to this episode. We appreciate you doing your best
to catch up. But at the same point, you know, don't go crazy. The way that we're getting episodes out, it's going to be hard to hard to catch up unless you really don't have anything going on for like, you know, a day or two and you can just kind of, you know, crank them out. Let them write. So yeah, I would say, hey, clay, we really appreciate you. And you know, thanks for doing your best to listen as many episodes as possible. Yeah. And Clay, if you're not already and anybody else listening, subscribe to our YouTube channel. Please go ahead and do that. We'd love to get over that 4,000 threshold before the start of the season. So we've only got a couple more weeks. So if you know somebody that's not subscribed to YouTube channel, please encourage them to do that. Give us a like and let us know in the comments section what you thought of our conversation. And if you're listening on the audio side of things, give us a five-star rating review. Always appreciate you guys doing that. It does help the podcast go a long way. But with that being said, hope you guys enjoyed our fan jam recap here on the podcast. We'll be back tomorrow on Fachi. If you got a little pep in your step, see it's Harry Salabarton back on the court. Hit me with those three words.
