Hey, it's Hannah Burner from Giggly Squad and the holidays are around the corner, which means I'm officially entering my host's Hannah era with Arm and Hammer Hardball Cat litter. It's a new workday. Thank you for joining me here on the channel, the home of the Premier League Champions. Hope everyone's having a good day. We'll get in there slowly, just in two days time. It'll be a week before the return of the Premier League. Quite what Premier League is going to be when it does return, given everything that's going on at the moment, is up for debate. I suppose, but it is going to be a return. We don't have too much longer to wait in about a week time. The press conferences will start. They're going to be interesting. Know about that, given what has happened during this international break. Anyway, we're going to talk about some injury news today, in today's show, Martin Odegard,
William Celeba. Some reports coming out of France about Celeba's fitness. It sounds pretty promising. We'll talk about that. We will talk about Manchester because it's impossible not to, because every single day, something different happens. I think the last 24 hours also have shown in more than one way why it is absolutely ridiculous that state-owned football clubs are allowed. We'll talk about that. Got some comments and questions from you guys as well. First up, myself and James Benj are recording inside our Snorke's to time later on today. Now, I've said that twice in the last week, and we haven't managed to record it, because each time something has happened. First, the Manchester City story dropped literally just as we were about to start, and that carboscę idea. Then on Tuesday, James managed to lock himself and his family out of their house. He couldn't get back in to start recording. Providing he doesn't do that again today, we are going to record inside our Snorke's
to time a little bit later on this afternoon. If you've got any questions for us to discuss, then get down into the comments. This has always started with extra time. Give us your thoughts, your opinion, and question. As usual, we'll pull some of them together and get them included. In the show, writes, let's start with Martin Odegard, shall we, and his potential availability tonight for Norway versus Wales. If you're watching on screen, you can see there a picture of Martin Odegard in training at the Cardiff City Stadium yesterday. It's clearly a big, big positive. Martin Odegard training with the squad on that ankle, despite the ridiculous assault that Bernard Odegard was putting through last time out. That's a real, real positive. Celosel back was talking in his press conference and he was asked, can you confirm that Martin is going to be fit to play? He pulled a very classic Michaela Teta type response. He said, I wish I could say yes, but I don't know.
I can't say no either. He's going to do some testing today and we'll see. He's here. If he wasn't, then there wouldn't have been a chance. That is a classic Michaela. You could shut your eyes. Actually, no, that doesn't make any sense. You couldn't shut your eyes because you'd actually be able to see the assault back. If you just read that quote, you could think it would come from Michaela Teta, but he's a clear positive. He looks fine. He was training yesterday. He was out in the training ground the day before he was walking around. He's not limp him. It looks like the scare about Martin Oedogarden and his ankle is gone and he's fine. I'm fully expecting he'll be involved for Norway tonight. I'll be surprised if he's not. I think as crossed, he can come through that. Unscaved. I know there's lots of people saying, he shouldn't be playing for Norway today. He should rest in bed. He's a Norway captain. If he's fit, if he's fine, if the ankle was just hurting for a day or so afterwards, then you're not going to pull him out of this game. If it was something like a muscle injury, I could understand that he concerns about. If he was just an impact injury that is cleared up already, the scans apparently have
shown up absolutely nothing to worry about that he had after the game in terms of ligament damage or anything like that. It appears he's just an impact injury. If that is absolutely case, Norway has already said that they're in constant talk with Arsenal. The scanner as well gets sent to Arsenal. Arsenal will be well aware of everything's going on. I don't think there's anything majorly to worry about, even if he does play today tonight. I just think hopefully fingers crossed. He is fine. I'm not going to say this when it comes to Martin Odegard. This was a question from Roy that I just wanted to discuss. He said, hi, Charles, did you see the comments from Steve Nichol who basically said Odegard deserved to be chopped down by David Silver, but not O Silver? I did see this. I'd like to say I'm really surprised that the next professional would say something like this, but I'm very much aware that this is Steve Nichol talking on ESPN over in the United States. I'm not overly surprised because he says this sort of thing all the time. I do really feel for all of you of my subscribers who are based over the other side of the Atlantic
who are kind of forced to watch ESPN a lot of time in the pundits that they have a lot of time because they are genuinely from what I see. I don't see much of them thankfully, but from what I see, I think they're genuinely the worst football pundits that I know of who cover the Premier League on a regular basis. Steve Nichol is right up there at the very, very top of the chain when it comes to the worst pundits that there is. So basically, he said the Norway had been running rings round Portugal a lot of the time, even though Portugal won the game. And he was like, I don't know why anyone in Portugal is doing around and kick someone basically to stop him and he said, I don't know why it took till the end of the game for someone to do that to Martin Odegard. And then he said, my is Martin Odegard crying about it, all that sort of stuff, which is frankly utterly ridiculous, but it just in keeping with what Steve Nichol has always done and what I've ever seen or heard from him in his role as a pundit for ESPN, just an absolute dinosaur who quite how he's still employed and able to talk about things on a week-to-week basis. So I have absolutely no idea because how anyone with a football mind doesn't matter what
ear you grew up in. I don't know how anyone can watch what Bernardis did with did to Martin Odegard when we've two minutes of the game to go, when there is not any sort of challenge where there's been no sort of, you know, it's not even retribution or anything like that, you know, they haven't had a spat just earlier. So there's nothing there. He hasn't been wound up. He's just taking it upon himself to go out and try and hurt him. I don't know how, if you're a former player of any year, I don't know how you can look at that and think that's all right. So I did see the comments Roy and I'm just not overly surprised because it was very in keeping from what I've seen and heard from Steve Nichol before. Okay, in terms of what we've got coming up tonight when it comes to international action, obviously we've got the Norway vs. Wales game which kicks us in Cardiff at 7.45pm. The main sort of other game with Arsenal involvement is over in Greece where we have a Crystal Solis vs. Jurian Timber, a Greece vs. Netherlands. You do have James Scanlan playing before that for Gibraltar against Malta as well.
That Greece Netherlands game should be interesting because that is going to be literally direct competition there. Solis vs. Timber. If Timber starts, then you're going to have, see Solis line enough on the left wing for Greece and Timber line enough. Probably a right back for Netherlands. I've already had played the centre back, right side the centre back for Netherlands quite a lot of time as well. But I imagine he'll be right back. So that would be an interesting one to watch from an Arsenal points view and obviously got Martin Odegarde playing and later on for Norway as well. So that's tonight's international action to look forward to. In terms of Williams-Saleebert, obviously not involved for France during the international break because of this back injury that he's continuing to recover from. But the latest report from France about Saleebert do sound pretty promising. That's been reported by Le Keep today. That Saleebert is now out training on the grass. Again, he's had an X-ray and the show that the recovery is on track and he's been able to move on to the next step of his rehab, which is actually getting out on the grass and doing some work, obviously individual work out there.
So that's promising Le Keep have reported. He's watched every Arsenal in France game while he's been out and he's been very impressed by his replacements in both teams. So Conza for Arsenal and Jacques A for France. Le Keep reporting that Saleebert is desperate to now get back, but he's not going to rush it and currently he's on course for a November return. And we are now in October. So November is actually now next month, which is pretty scary to be honest. I think that November is just around the corner. So that's the latest on Williams-Saleebert promising stuff on him as well, because yeah, it's going to be very, very nice to get Williams-Saleebert back. No doubt about that. Therapy's biggest impact doesn't show up in some dramatic breakthrough. It shows up in the smallest moments. You bite your tongue instead of escalating. You put your phone down instead of firing off that text. You say what you actually mean instead of what would hurt someone else the most.

As I said, the last 24 hours are an absolute classic example as to why nation state should not be allowed to run football clubs. We've seen example after example in the last 24 hours of so. First of all, the British Prime Minister over here, the English Prime Minister, the United Kingdom Prime Minister, however you want to describe it, but Andy Berner basically has come out. He was speaking to the BBC yesterday and I haven't got his exact quotes here now, but he basically said that it would be a shame. He wouldn't want to lose the Manchester City owners and it would be a shame if that was to happen because of what has happened with this independent commission findings, which
quite frankly is staggering comments from the UK Prime Minister. To be honest, given what they are charged with and how serious it is, but when you look at it, this is just a classic example of why sports washing works. You know, Abu Dhabi have come in. They have basically refinanced a lot of Manchester. They've plowed so much money into Manchester where Andy Berner was mayor. Obviously before he became Prime Minister and has deep roots in Manchester and they have plowed all that private money into the city, which has allowed them to redevelop the city. They're making a lot of money from it as well themselves and that money, that investment brings them power and it brings them closer to people in the top end of the country who can help them out from situations. It's just a classic example of sports washing and now you've got the UK Prime Minister who went on to say I can't get any more involved. So you already are involved now because you've just said this publicly that it would be
a shame to lose them. You can see a picture of him there as well with the Manchester City chairman and then that you've got Eti had the Manchester City chief sponsors, threatening legal action now against the Premier League. Of course, the Eti had airways who are owned by Abu Dhabi and the Silver and Well Fund and are chaired by Sheikh Mansur's brother. Of course, though, they're completely separate entities and you've got the financial time reporting today that the Premier League, the chairman of Manchester City, called Luna and Warbarak has been granted immunity, diplomatic immunity six years ago and that would complicate things from a legal point of view if these findings and people started to go after those in power at Manchester City. It's just a classic. It's just all of those married together, just classic examples where I state run, state own football clubs shouldn't be a thing because these owners will have too much influence on too many people.
There'll be too much money involved, not just in the football club but in the wider community that those communities, those councils like Manchester County who had absolutely no money and they've taken all the money from Abu Dhabi to reinvest. In one way you look at it and say, well, that's good, it's great for Manchester. They've been able to invest in parts of Manchester and build new parts of Manchester that they wouldn't have got that sort of investment in before. But now when something like this happens, they're just too intertwined to be able to see any other way of like, oh my god, the money's going to turn off. What are we going to do? They're going to suddenly turn the money off. What are we going to do? And it's just classic example. It sports watching and it shows why it works and how it works. It also shows that football clubs should not be allowed to be owned by state by nation states. Absolutely. We have Pat coming out yesterday with his statement, finally heard from him, which was just a quite frankly ridiculous statement from Pat Guadiala, which further taints his image from my point of view as well. So it's just all becoming such a mess. And my big concern about this, well, there's so many big concerns about it, but they
over one over sort of reaching concern now is just how are we going to view this primarily season from this point onwards? Because this is just going to keep going and keep going and keep going. This is going to get ever more messy week in week out. It's going to get ever more messy. The more desperate Manchester City get, the more messy it's going to become because the more threats they're going to make, the more levers they're going to pull behind the scenes to make things incredibly difficult, whether it be for Manchester and the City Council, as we're seeing, and potentially turning off the money that feeds into that city, not just from the football club, but to the council itself, where it gets to the very top of the country to Andy Burnham, all the sort of things, you know, further legal action against the Premier League from people connected with Manchester City. The whole thing is going to be a mess. But what does this mean for football? How messy is this season going to get? Can we realistically even watch this season now? And I think this is totally normal. This is totally fine. Does it change how we view this season or how we're going to view Saturday to Saturday to Saturday?
Manchester City keep winning, which they easily could because of the team they've put together now. They keep winning. They open up a gap at the top of the Premier League, which hopefully they're not going to do. But if they did, how's it going to make everyone feel? Well, this is all hanging over us. It's just such a shame. It just makes me so, so angry. Tim has got in touch and says the Prime Minister says he'd be really concerned to lose Manchester City owners. David Kogan, the football regulator, has promised to resign before politicians drive him into position against the interests of football. But he may soon have to decide whether those owners are suitable while the Prime Minister says publicly that he wants them to stay. How much damage could that conflict do to the credibility of the regulator and to the League itself? Huge damage. Absolutely huge damage. I hope, I hope that the regulator is strong enough. To be able to swipe away any sort of political influence from anywhere in the political spectrum, especially at the very top of the tree from it. I still so frustrated that Andy Burnham has decided to get himself involved in this.
And I hope what this does do, almost is sort of open him up to further investigation into his ties with Abu Dhabi and how the, and this Manchester City owners and how a lot of the investment came to light in Manchester and where that a lot of that money has gone. So yeah, I mean, it just does, it does really affect and there sort of goes back to what I'm saying about the credibility of the league and how we're going to view this league going forward from this point onwards this season. It just feels really, really difficult to believe there is much credibility in it at the moment. And that's just such a shame because we've waited all some of this is a season we're trying to defend our title. We want to get really involved in it and it's just going to be hanging over all of our heads for so long. It seems and it just feels like such a such a shame. It's strange, really strange. I don't know. I don't think we're going to know a season like this. I don't know where we're ever going to experience the season like this before with this all going on. And yeah, for now the game that we all love and we all look forward to weekend after weekend that we all think about as soon as you get to Monday morning, you're like,
oh, I've brings the next game. What are we going to be doing? And the Sunday that just feels like that excitement that buzz. That passion just feels like it's going to be a little bit clouded this season. And that is a yes, not a nice thought. OK, just talking about the women yesterday. Oh God, how on earth did they manage to throw this one away? I mean, in quite comedic fashion as well. Look, like they were cruising to Nile this year, so just stand where you're scoring. But I also found a way which tends to happen when you struggle in and when your confidence is low, that things happen, then you can't quite get yourself over the line and get the game. And that's what happened to Arsenal, conceding two late goals. Well, sort of the first one was midway through the second half and then the second one. Obviously right at the end, but the way the second one went in the penalty decision, Leo Willis, and picking up the ball. After the goalkeeper passed it out to her. She picked up the ball to put it on the line, take the goal, kick herself. The referee said the goal, the ball was already in play and gave the penalty. That allowed a Paris to equalize, just a couple of minutes to go.
Just really, really messy situation. Just look, it was not. It didn't look great. It looked, as I said, if it wasn't Arsenal, you'd be laughing about it, but it was Arsenal. We've seen it, given in the men's game before you go back to Ashton Villa, as we conceded it. A while back for Ashton Villa in the Champions League. I think I've played Bruce, you know, he got punished for it. Gabrielle got away with one against Bayern Munich a few years ago when he did it as well. Later the law, it's a penalty in the women's game. So Leo Willis and probably should have known better. It's the type of thing again that just seems to happen when you're struggling already, and confidence is low already, and you're struggling to find the results. You're trying to hang on to get what would have been a really important result. I mean, René Sleggers was a few men. She didn't even do a press conference after the game, René Sleggers, which I don't think that's a great look. I mean, you can be angry, but you can take your time, you can calm down a little bit and come out and fulfill your media duties that your contractually obliged to do. She didn't do it. She didn't want to do it. The reason that the press over there were given that she didn't turn up was that she was
too angry to talk, but I mean, manages that's angry a lot of the time. You still got to go out and front up to the cameras. Everything else. Only get to add to the question marks about René at the moment and her future and how it's all going to go. She knew how important a result this was for Arsenal. They couldn't get it over the line. They let it slip. Two points dropped. No doubt about it. And now they've got a game against Manchester City of all teams. This weekend, City of Starr said four wins from four in the WSL. They'd be Arsenal on the weekend and Arsenal have ten points behind them already after five games in the season. And you can certainly kiss any chance of winning the WSL. Good by at that point. And it's a massive game for Arsenal. It's a massive game of fields. You feel for René Slegg as well. And that was a painful one last night because that was a game Arsenal. Should have won. They had it right there. And they managed to throw it away. And yeah, really, really disappointing. We had one from DJ Ash on the Discord. The question says, what did you make of the women's performance? Should have been three points. Paris haven't been great.
Our questions now are going to be start to be asked about René. I mean, if we drop points against City on Sunday with ten points behind, yeah. I mean, I thought the performance largely was good until, until there's basically got themselves two in the front. And then I don't know if they just felt it was done and dusted at that point and they sat back. But I just don't think you can do that. And I don't think you can do that in a way in a sort of form that asked or in at the moment. And you look at the first goal they conceded last night. And I'm like, you know, just like when you're a real schoolboy stuff, take away the ridiculous nature of the second goal, the first goal, when you're tuning up to get caught like that on the counter attack, that high up the pitch, it was just really, really poor, really poor. You just got to have a little bit more know how about you than that. And you think this Arsenal team would with the players that they've got in it. But at the moment, things aren't going for them. So I think questions are certainly going to be asked of René no doubt about it. And I think it's the Manchester City result goes away. The form table suggests it's going to this weekend. Then there's going to be some big, big questions to be asked about her, I think. And we'll see how that goes. Fingers crossed they can turn it around though and get themselves a good win at the weekend
and kickstart this season. That was certainly do that. Anyway, that is it for me this morning. Like I said at the start, we back with James later on today for inside Arsenal extra time. So keep your eyes peeled for that. If you haven't seen it yet, did do a show, a special show yesterday with Alan Smith and Lorna Campbell, the sister of the great Kevin Campbell.
