And today's episode we are talking NFL Draft storylines to kick it off. But we're going to talk about rookie spotlight for the NFL Thursday night football Blake Miller right tackle versus those Buffalo bills. Is this a strong tight end class? Jamari Johnson, Jalani Thurman. We're going to talk about some of those guys and what makes up this tight end class and is it a strong class overall. But let's start off with a team that everyone is projecting to potentially pick a quarterback into 227 NFL Draft.

But they got one thing they need to figure out. When a Shadour starting so you know what you have in your quarterback room, Keith. The Cleveland Browns every mock draft you look at. And most mock drives, I know especially for us over at bleach point, anytime we do a mock, we use the reverse betting odds of the Super Bowl win. And we know that the Cleveland Browns are typically at the very bottom of that betting odds that because they're not a team. Most most years, they're when the jets they like to battle with all the pd like the bad. Yeah, they're up there pretty much every year for the most part. So of course they're typically anywhere from five kind of some of them have in between two and five. And every mock draft you see. There's a quarterback landing with the Cleveland Browns. Well, they have to figure out what to do with Shadour Sanders. You drafted them, you know, in the fifth round last year, you gave them some starts and he looked decent at times. He still has some stuff to work with needed to improve the offensive line, get some more receiving help, which you did both those things.

And this offseason, the Sean Watson, I think the least should be short, not that he's a terrible quarterback, but you don't want to do with the Atlanta Falcons did Keith and Desmond really yourself. You need to figure out what you have and just in Shadour Sanders right now. Yeah, 100% DP. I mean, you asked me, when does he need a start for the Cleveland Browns? I said yesterday. It means to have been immediately and the Cleveland Browns, you know, they put themselves in a complex situation, obviously, what the entire the Sean Watson situation, right. But when you start to look at this and you talk about a go forward plan, right, because that that's very important that we're talking about steps moving forward is that you need to know what Shadour Sanders is as a quarterback, right. One, have to go get you a franchise quarterback or two, which you hopefully have you have a franchise quarterback and you could continue to fill out this roster. We praise this front office GM Andrew Barry, and he kind of saved this job, right, with the draft from the past couple years, right. The Casey concepts, you know, Denzel Boston, Carson Swessinger, Mason Graham, right, drafting those guys that can be key pillar parts for this.

Often, I mean, for his team, both offensively and defensively, one saved his job, but it also put pillars in place that you say, okay, you have some foundational pieces to build for with now. You need to get the quarterback answer that the Sean Watson thing, I think even when you seen a graphic right, it was like 650 days or something crazy, right. And even when he took those live action snaps before, it was not good football. So in my mind, this is what I think the plan is the P or if I'm, you know, put me into the shoes of a GM, I understand the Sean Watson is making all of the money, right. He's making all of the money, but I have a job to do. And so looking at it, this is what I think is happening. I would give him one maybe other start. Just to make sure when you close the chapter on that book, that book is forever done, right. Go ahead and horse it in ocean, right. Like that book is over and you want to make sure that it's so, like it's so final that if Shadore Sanchez is bad, the fans are not asking for the Sean Watson anymore, right.

That chapter is completely closing. I think that's what they're in the process of doing. I'm like, you know what, let's go with the Sean Watson for this few games. If he's good, great. If he's bad, cool. Right. I think that's where that. And so I understand maybe giving him one more start, but I want a full season of nothing but Shadore Sanchez playing quarterback. I like, you know, thankfully is bumped up to 15 games. So after week two, you still have 15 more games to play, right. And that's almost a little season of seeing him work through the good, the bad and ugly to know. Hey, I can't work through this or I can't work through this right because you spent the wrong pick on him. So you don't have a lot of expenditures on them or, you know, things that's leveraged you the other way, then also this other part of you, if he plays decent and you still feel like you get better, could you get some draft capital for him, right. Could you trade door Sanders to a team that may want a high level backup quarterback, right. Does a time think a Minnesota situation next year, right. Depending on how the entire situation goes down. Do they look at it from a different perspective, right. And there are various other teams that could use a high level backup quarterback and Shadore Sanders and the potential to go ahead and compete for a starting job. So the definitely be interesting moving forward on how this goes, but the Cleveland Browns need to go ahead and make a move really, really so because you need to figure out your future draft wise.

100% and I bring back the Desmond Ritter thing remember when Marcus Merrill has started that season similar to like he played worse than to me than the Sean did. Like it was probably about week three. I was right. Okay, let's get Desmond Ritter in there and see what you have because that was going into the next year where you had, I believe that was the Bryce young CJ Stroud Anthony Richardson draft Jalen Carter. I think they drink date. That was a draft where they selected B Jean at eight. And I'm like, okay, if you give Desmond Ritter that runway, like you said to deal with the good, the bad and the ugly, the peaks and values of almost a full season of games, right. Now you know what you have and you look at the good and say, okay, if he's this, if he's in the good bucket 12 out of the 17 games, do we win those 12 games. If he's in the mid to bad, like, can we overcome that or his ugly than we just know what the ugly looks like we don't want no parts of the ugly, right. But they didn't give themselves that keep they kept Marcus Merrill because that's the year that there was a low, there was a low light real of him missing Kyle pits wide open pretty much all season up until Kyle pits suffered that leg injury that he it took him like almost two years to fully get back to being Kyle pits again.

Not in what they gave Desmond Ritter four games and it was like, okay, you were sold for four games. Yes, sorry, that's not good enough. Like I need to know exactly what I have. And if I'm the Cleveland Browns and Todd Monkett, understand the reason and reason why I'm I'm I'm I'm with you too. I'm saying the same thing. One more start. You got okay, you got we start week one. He's already named those start of a week to maybe I give you a week through maybe, but that I'm not giving you that much of a least simply because of the fact we know you're not the future of this of this organization. Yeah, and this this is the other issue too, right. The Sean Watson has hit the level of where he's he's on a back nine in his career. I was even from a aging perspective, right. Like let's just even talk, you know, just put football out there, right. Like, okay, he's playing okay football. He's still on a back nine. The players that I talked about, they they draft the DP or young players, right. Like they're like the Denzel Boston's the Casey Kasey conceptions. Swessinger on. Yeah, these are young guys, right. So the clocks don't even align properly. And we seen teams make smart decision. I mean the Cleveland Browns just did this with Miles Garrett, right.

Listen, he's great. We're just not in his phase anymore, right. And so I think they should apply the same thing with the Sean Watson to say, you know what. Yeah, I we messed up and just just ended right. And I think that what happens inside of a building DP and I'll kind of explain this just from my time at LSU that people or people. And what I mean by that is people make decisions and then they don't like saying they're wrong, right. And it's the same thing. And I know that we think that those people and, you know, NFL executives trust me. I've been around and I've sat in those meetings and I watch them like this player's bad. We're on year three now. It's not going to be any better. He still can't cover. He still can't cover anybody. But because coaches and personality don't want to be wrong about it. They stick with it. And sometimes you stick with it a year too long. And so I think that the expiration date on the Sean Watson experiment is over. He may need to change the scenery. And maybe he can pull us Sam Darnell or something and go somewhere else and be a good quarterback. But for Cleveland, everything that it was supposed to be DP. This is a totally different football team than when he started it. Right.

You know, when he initially came to the team as a totally different situation, you signed the Sean Watson thinking that hey, if we get him, he's going to put us over the top for Super Bowl aspirations. Remember that like the Cleveland Browns had one of the best defense. We talked about the fact that and this one first got the draft. Now we remember they're like two all pros at every single position, right. Like it on offense. Like it was, you know, they had two all pro, well, two pro bowl, well, I received was there the tight ends. They had the offensive line. They had a. The total of the total rock Nick Chubb, right. Like there was a lot of things in place that's just simply not the same situation. Now the DP we're going to continue to have these NFL draft conversations in which team me to go ahead and jump into the corner by conversation. But now we're going to talk about this tight and class. Is this a strong tight and class right. Is there a rock power out there? Is there one of those dynamic game changes. We'll discuss that coming up next. Pros picks run your game again. Pros picks run your game. Is the 2027 tight end class for the NFL draft a strong one Keith we've seen tight end I said so many times I was part tight ends are the biggest mismatches in football if you have yourself a legit past catching tight end man it can really change your offense right we seen that NFL is becoming a copycat league at the same time to Keith where it's 12 this 13 is 22 is 23 person now that they want to run the football with and you know you look at last year. We had can you see the max Claire Eli rare then Sam rouse Eli Stowers Jack injuries Marlin Klein a will cast Mary a Nate Borkerture the guy that got drafted too early for everybody to the Jacksonville Jaguars and when you look at this class key some of the names the notable names and the names I think people really need to make themselves aware of of course there I think everybody should know Jamari Johnson at Oregon trade as green who we've talked about news of times even earlier than the

last year. I think this is a strong tight end class and you got the kind of the movement guys a guy like Terrence Carter Jr. This is a tight end class that's going to have size athleticism maybe just even more pure past catchers but you're going to have the type I think this is going to be different than last year I think last year's class with probably better blockers I think this year's class is better receiving talent than what we would then when we saw last year. Yeah no I like the D.P. I want to rewind from the beginning right with your conversation talking about the offenses and why we even have in this conversation is because I believe tight ends of one of those positions that are becoming more and more important to NFL offenses and a success of NFL offenses and I think you know we talk 11 12 13 personnel things that nature from a run game perspective I think there's going to be conversation in a person that I believe is going to start this a lot is King and Cedeek.

The conversation of these guys also lining up at full back for you to right being in a backfield just different you know versatile alignments that they can have because you know I formation come back all said I just different things like that because everything is sistical right the more the more we change is the more we stay the same right and we're at that phase D.P. With things to come back I have some young young students D.P. and you know what they're wearing right now G shocks right G shocks right in the X. We miss the Sanchez where's your G shock and I'm like well I gave mine away 20 years ago when it stopped being popular right but the back being popular again D.P. So full backs I think they're coming back I was watching the show and Kyle you check was talking about that right like the discussion of full backs coming back are we going to get back to the days of the Lorenzo nails right and things that at nature but I think it's going to start with Titans because teams are going to want to initially make sure that those guys are dynamic pass catchers right because they want to be able to use them in the offensive play structure but physical blockers like King and Cedeek to why can't you play full back right I think it's right so I look at this.

I look at this tight in class like you said the trade is greens of Jamari Johnson's there's going to be the past catches but they're going to be dynamic athletes to that can help you in multiple different facets. No hundred percent key nothing when you look at you like it's a guy like a jolani determined at North Carolina he's a transfer from Ohio state and I think I did I think I said this on the previous episode his stock was up for me simple simple fact he transferred from Ohio state they don't use tight ends so I was like smart. Like smart move by you young man go get go somewhere where they will allow where they will allow you to play your position and utilize you in the passing game he's six six this at 245 pounds he can run block and right now for you for you and see when they beat TCU and week one he was a fourth eight for 94 yards against I think Eastern Tennessee state he was four for 71 yards in a touchdown and you know talking to somebody else. You know talking to somebody over the date they love this kid they love what he brings just to to to that offense and again 6645 you watch this tape at Ohio state he was a good run block you look at him at you and see he's a good run blocker so now I'm not going to say he's like a drunk or this elite just people move but this guy gets the job done off of the edge and I'm talking in line as a H back things like that and then you can flex him out so he can play that true possibly tight in one role for a team.

And I just look at him I'm like yes when you look at these tight ends again Jemari Johnson he's a willing blocker he's 65 to 50 you know like he's got the sides for yeah now and I'm gonna go with another guy D.P. I'm gonna go with Lawson Lucky from University of Georgia. Similar to Oscar dealt right in the school to you just had the college issue but I was they I don't know what happened after the Brock by always thing but Georgia to stop throwing football to their tight ends and they have a lot of talent to tight ends. And and reason bringing him up right on the season right now he has one reception I believe for four yards now my injury they've had some cupcake team that they both raised right early on and probably you know me have not played a lot of things like that but still like my guys some targets and you know going through this whole draft process D.P. Lash I kept saying Oscar Dope is a name to be aware of Oscar Dope is a name to be aware of the stats don't line up for Oscar Dope is a name to be aware of in the same suit him well within the top 100. Yeah third round right atop 100 pick I think Lossy Lucky in my opinion comparing both of the Georgia Titans the past Georgia Titans Oscar Dope and Brock by was I think he's somewhere in between the two actually I think run after the catchability has some of that contact balance like a Brock by was did but he's up in a bigger profile and and longer in leaner can love more leaning towards Oscar Dope.

No 100% I think he's and it's crazy they got another kid to I think he's like a I think he's a red shirt sophomore I don't I don't think he's going to declare they got two of them actually one looks like darn that Washington. He might be a little bit lighter but similar height like he's kind of freak his athlete and then they got I think his Jaden Randell I believe is the name and I'm not gonna like he that kid to me 60s like 64 240 he's a red shirt sophomore so he is draft eligible number 23 he looks like Brock Fowers like they they for week one he caught a pass and I think he either T truck somebody and then the speed after the catch I was like why does that look familiar I was like oh he's playing in Las Vegas right I think he looks just like to do he looks like Brock but again it's just will we ever see any of these tight ends fully mature at Georgia because they don't throw the ball to their playmakers enough we don't know Keith I'm really excited for for Luke Reynolds though and and at Virginia Tech because this guy you know he was behind what was our guy name but Tyler Warren he's behind Tyler Warren at Penn State and so he transfer he 64250 so he followed he followed James Franklin yeah he followed James Franklin he is I believe he is draft eligible because he played yes he's played three seasons he's like those is his third year I think he might have red shirted probably played like a gamer two in 2024 then red shirted and then 2025

he he was the guy and everything but you know that the offense was just all types of weird for Penn State and Virginia Tech so far this year he's got 164 yards receiving and three receiving touchdowns in two games he scored in each of the two games they have Virginia Tech looks they they look the part right now we'll see once again the ACC play but I think this is a guy that can absolutely separate himself when it's all said done Keith now he's talented he's got speed I remember when when Tyler Warren declared for the draft I was talking to someone who covers the team and they texted me saying hey we got another one coming behind that you're going to be talking about soon and I was like what's the name say Luke Reynolds I said okay bet and now he's averaging a tech and I hope that he continues this play because again this is a guy we could end up having three or four tight ends in the top 50 to top 100 I think just that's how talented probably more to be honest with the NFL keeps the trend that they shocked us with this past draft 100% and we see names fly off the board that we were not expecting right and that goes

hardly climb yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah we're not expected here 100% and that goes to show you the emphasis that NFL teams are putting on tight ends and that's why we're covering them on locked on NFL draft and that's why we're going to continue to make you aware of the guys in his draft class because these guys will be on your NFL teams coming up soon and potentially an important part of your NFL offense DP let's go ahead and do this man let's talk about the Thursday night showdown we have the Detroit Lions versus the Buffalo Bills both teams one and oh we want to talk about rookie rookie offense attack Blake Miller and his matchup that he has against his Buffalo front we'll discuss that coming up next. they believed he could be a first round talent but they needed to take a step forward and last you know in 2025 for Clemson he played probably his best season of calls football this guy started with 56 straight games for Clemson he was an iron man for that offensive line he's got big match up tonight in Thursday night football on the road facing Greg Russo and that all that defense of law for the Buffalo bills Keith how important is Blake Miller because you got Penn Penae school I think and I remember we talked about this we talked about this before the draft happened when when Dan Campbell made the comment I'm almost ready to kick Penae school to the left side we like Blake Miller this makes sense Blake Miller to the Detroit lines you get yourself a napkin at your right tackle put Penae school back where he started his career in college at or I believe Oregon was at left tackle before getting to the lines and everything what do you want to see from Blake Miller for the help the Detroit lines be able to knock off a upset victory.

Yeah I mean listen he's going to have to be composed right because you're talking about crowd noise this is the Buffalo bills opening their stadium right also this is just the tables and Buffalo Keith they jump in the tables and stuff and all of you know Bill's my fear this is going to be a welcome to the NFL moment and I know he played last week right against the New Orleans Saints but this situation is is is going to be different different being on all versus being away and so going to be looking up going against guys like a Greg Russo right this could be something totally different for him Greg Russo being you know is measured what 6 5 6 6 260 pounds of proven savvy veteran coming off of the edge he's going to have to hold it down and we talk about this right there sometimes NFL teams like to rush the right tackle because the quarterback sees that pressure right he's able to see it is it's in his face and so protecting a guy like Jared golf who has some I say escape ability I don't know if I mean we call it mobility I'm going to call it escape ability but not a top notch mobile quarterback you're

essentially protecting the pocket pass right so you're going to have to show up and show through and when you get in those passing downs when it's 38 or 3rd and long those those teams will buff the Buffalo bills are going to have their ears paying back and so he's going to have to operate on his pees and cues I think it's going to be very interesting D.P. because you talked about it right that heading into last year the year before for Blake Miller was a very up and down year last year since most consistent if it was the year before you're probably looking at more of a third fourth round pick right up yeah you have to make sure because oddly enough this guy's on the lines of what he was on the line I'm sorry he's drafted by the lines Terri on Arnold and remember there was throughout his college career right there was a sophomore year and I might have gave him a fourth round agree right on and then his his last year I think he came out of true junior he played at a very high level but the thing is is that is that rollercoaster parts to let

him because we got the rollercoaster part with the lines right when he got to the field there was some really good plays and then there was some head scratching what are you doing right and so for Blake Miller I think the key to watch with him is consistency consistency against high level play because we've seen variance in his college career no 100% now you know you take it even a step further I think you know because when you look at what the Buffalo Bills pastor it looks like when they want to get to the quarterback they guys that they're rushing Deon Walker from the interior who had a monster game rushing the pastor against the Texans when they left them 101 Bradley Chubb is the other ad Russia you got Ed Oliver and Greg Russo so you expect to see either Greg Russo or Bradley Chubb if they if they flip on sides you know you know deep it's coordinates like to do things like that the reason why to me Blake Miller is going to be under the spotlight is live is you want to on third lungs because of the fact that you have a truly a pocket passing who doesn't get like you said doesn't give you much mobility he's got little

that he can get out of the pocket or you know if there's a skate if there's a a back door he can get out and try to make a play and everything like that but Jerk off typically wants to live in the pocket that's his game Blake Miller may have to live on the island against those edges rushes because I don't know the what I saw from Deon Walker like in week one Keith of the first game of his second year when they left him 101 as a past russia remember the quote I'll never forget it you said he was laid too long to as a defensive tackle as a past rush yeah he his hands his quickness the swim move power like I was just like yeah he's he's figuring it out but he's figuring it out and when you got a guy at six six three fifty that could fire off the ball hit you with a little stutter step and then swim move you and now he's in the face of your quarterback what's the quickest path to quarterback is through the interior offensive line you don't want your guards to have to try and help Blake Miller all

game if Deon Walker on third downs is getting on the heater because then you want to send you want to try and tando block do a block him if you're struggling one on one I think they're off I think they're right guard of his is it take rat lich I can't remember if it's him or not but I'm looking it up now but yeah I think that's going to be the big thing is like if Deon Walker is going to end all the same thing whoever they've those interior defensive linemen are cooking as past russia's Keith you you yes take rat let's take rat lich is the right tackle and I love take coming out of Georgia feeling he was a very underrated offensive tackle and everything strong good athlete from the most part so I think that battle between him and Deon Walker or him and Ed Oliver should be fun but definitely something I'm looking forward to watching he just can't Blake Miller live on the island and deal with Bradley Chubb or Gregor Russo and allow the interior guys to take away Ed Oliver and Deon Walker and allow uh Jared golf to step up in the pocket yeah 100% and it's going to be fun D.P this is going to be fun to watch just watch how he adjusts because

you see that right he's going to be so important to the Detroit Lions um just in this game but also them getting back to who they want to be so we talked about the past protection point but the run game part is going to be equally important because you know Dan Campbell that he has a bitter taste in his mouth from last year and how it ended right how they fell extremely short of expectations and then also how it appeared that they may have lost some of their identity right that for for about a year or two people view them as the toughest team in the NFL right running the football deep you know not so much past coverage defense but let's say we're running the football running the football mentality right um but it's not so much that the case right now right they're still trying to figure it out they put up good numbers against the New Orleans Saints albeit the New Orleans Saints so we'll see what they do against uh the Buffalo Bills in which Houston Texans the you know last week has some success we definitely see he's definitely going to be a key part of this and you best believe that uh defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills he's going to dollar some stuff to isolate uh Blake Miller and in situations to see if they can take that band and jump in with
