Northern Australia is basing severe flooding after record-breaking rains hit parts of Queensland with their highest three-day totals from Sunday to Tuesday. Dozens of river sites across Queensland, the Northern Territory, and New South Wales are now in major flood stages, causing widespread inundation. More than 90 monitoring stations show minor to major flooding as of Thursday morning, with over half of the river levels still rising or holding. Steady. Officials warn that some rivers have not yet reached their peak. Communities are hit hard, with hundreds of homes and businesses underwater in Bundaburg along the Burnett River. Near the Daily River, hundreds of residents were airlifted to Darwin over the weekend, and Catherine is seeing its worst floods in decades amid, crocodile and wastewater risks. Authorities expect the Daily River to remain above major flood levels for at least the next week. This follows hundreds of millimeters of rain and just days, including over 100 millimeters
