Norm Macdonald Netflix Doc, Jimmy Kimmel Rumors, and John Cleese vs BBC Cuts

Johnny Mac previews Netflix’s Norm: The Tale of Norm Macdonald (premiering Friday, Oct. 16, directed by Judd Apatow), described as an archival-footage documentary tracing Norm’s rise on Weekend Update and legacy as a “comedian’s comedian.” He notes Chris Fleming’s Emmy frustration bit and jokes about handing NBC’s 12:30 slot to Fleming. He covers Anthony Jeselnik launching a book club podcast on Bill Simmons’ network, plays a Jo Koy weather-segment clip, and revisits backlash to Koy’s Taylor Swift Golden Globes joke while mentioning criticism of Swift’s new song. He discusses conflicting reports about Jimmy Kimmel’s future at ABC, John Cleese’s criticism of the BBC over pulled Mitchell and Webb sketches, and debate over whether Ali G perpetuates stereotypes, including comments from writer Colton Dunn. He shares a listener’s Iceland hot-dog challenge success, teases Bowen Yang promoting skincare, and notes Ken Jeong  buying the A's.
