NFL Cover Zero with Matt Jones and Drew Franklin as a production of the NFL and I Heart Podcast. Welcome. It is the week five wrap up here on NFL Cover Zero, a little Monday afternoon. Rappin' up some NFL games. Matt Jones, Drew Franklin, and Billy R Sports. Guys, we are in, we are basic Kentucky. We've been pretty overwhelmed with Kentucky beating Lane Kiffin, but nevertheless, that doesn't mean there weren't NFL games.

Yesterday was great. I was able to lay on my couch, just turn on NFL and Red Zone kind of drift in and out of sleep. If there are plays I missed, that's okay. I enjoyed the action. The late afternoon, we got to stop only having three games. If there's only two of them are boring, then we need more games in the late afternoon. Otherwise, a good day. Usually, the afternoon is when I'll be like, I've been on this couch since 9 am. I should stand up and maybe see if there's something to do. But I will say, yesterday, even though we only had three, I got pretty locked in to the Seahawks game. That was a really good game. But otherwise, I was disappointed that I didn't have options. It's just too much chargers, too much cardinals. That's the problem with that late afternoon. There'll be a lot of writers. We were lucky we got Seahawks 49ers. That was a great game. I just, I don't need to see any more of the chargers. Don't get me started on the team. My main Daniel looks weirder every single week.

And there were some about him wearing the brown and all that. He looked like he was from a 70s drama. And then I don't know what, I don't know what Jim Harboh was wearing that hat had a lot of colors. Was it pride or something? Why was he wearing it? It's one of the themes, right? I think it was pride. I don't know for sure. It wasn't pride. I don't know what he was wearing. But I'm not starting with the chargers. Yeah, of course. I can't, I can't do it. I want to start with the giants in the commanders. All right. Didn't have you go in there. That was fun. Oh, what a... Because it was awful. Yeah. The team should be ashamed of themselves. First of all, I hate ties. I don't like them. I don't understand why. I don't understand why it's 10 minutes. I've been on this train for a while. Why isn't it 15? We got to buy them a little more time. The problem is the team that gets it's second is having to fight the clock. Now, you know, now part of it was that at this point both teams got the ball twice.

But just in general, I don't think I like the 10 minutes. I know I'm just thinking you don't want to play forever, but they could at least do 15. But also it was a parade of corbels. Yeah. Nobody wanted it. You know, you started with the, the giants moved down and then what's his face misses the kick? Uh-huh. Right. And then the commanders go three and out. And then the giants, all they have to do. Well, they didn't have to do anything. They could have just kicked it. Like there was no reason for them to keep running the ball, right? Or they're like the 20th, 24th. Yeah, I guess I mean, how much closer they want to gotta be. I guess they just missed one. Maybe they're guard up a little bit, but you definitely can't turn the ball over. But he missed like a 48 yarder. And I think they were set up for a 38 yarder. It feels like he would have made it. Maybe not. But you know, then scatter boo. He took off all his gloves and his padding on his arms and hands.

And I thought that's when you needed it most when it was raining like that. Oh, I didn't know that. He took all of them all. Yeah. So it was just, you know, he had bare hands when he fumbled that ball. What was his reasoning for taking them all? I'm not sure. You know, I feel like that glove technology really helps. Yeah. What's the point of wearing it? If you're not going to wear it during the pouring rain. Exactly. That seems like the one time you would wear it. Well, he gave up the game. You're boy. And then he looks sad, which I understand you. And he was like wet. So then you think, well, I can't get worse than that. And then the commanders like everyone should be fired. Everyone like everyone that lives in Washington should be fired. Everyone on the hill. Here's what I need to. What were they trying to do? I mean, I'm being dead serious. When they when they snapped that ball with 15 seconds left. What was their goal? I mean, a few more yards. Center the ball in the middle of the field. And did no one think we don't have a time out?

No one? Yeah, it's a gregious. It's one of it's maybe the worst professional clock air I've ever seen. Yeah, these are kids out there in the first time doing that. I think it's the worst one because the thing was like they were four seconds away from snapping it. Like they weren't close. Like he snapped it and they're like, oh, that's close. Let's see if it was. No, it wasn't close. They don't even think he got, I don't think they got lined up yet. And Dan Quinn shattered his headset. He was so bad on the side line. But it mean it was his fault. It was. But he didn't need to call a play. That was a GIF rap win after you were given the fumble to have new life. And all you got to do is not that. You could do anything. I mean, I don't know. Like I'd rather than have just punted it. Or miss a feel go above 50 yards. You can at least say you tried. You did nothing or throw an incomplete pass. Oh, yeah. I'm just not sure what Jane Dan, I'm not sure what Dan Quinn, Jane Daniels thought

would be a good result. Had they thrown a completed pass. That wouldn't have worked. If he gets tackled, that doesn't work. If he throws it to the side line, now you're not even centered. They were centered. And they ran away. What are they trying to do? I don't know. And there was 50, 55 seconds before they snapped that ball the first time. And then waddled around until they snapped with about 12 seconds left. And they also seem like no one was in a hurry. Like, in the way, there's a second overtime. Maybe that's their second half. They thought it just seemed like no one was even in a hurry. Like if you watch it, the wide receivers were like, you, you, you, you, there's one guy on the commanders acting like he knows what's going on. And then the Giants player just stepped on the ball. Did you see that? And if you're the commanders, I mean, you're probably not a playoff team. But you, a win like that, you need if you want to believe in yourself. Now you're at the bottom of that division. That's one right there. Just kick the ball. And the Giants were so many very, very, very, like they had won.

Never seen a team happier to be tied. Well, they should have been because they, you know, scatter boo. Like he gets saved. Just a bizarre game. And the NFC East is the new NFC sound. And like in terms of being just like it was an awful week for the NFC East. The Cowboys lost to the bucks. And just a pitiful, perfect. And it was in prime time for everybody to see. It was terrible to watch. Well, thank you. Jaylen Daniels though got a win. So happy. He actually didn't look awful. No, he's like, there's something there. I don't know if he's in an NFL quarterback, but he, he looked like he had a place at least as a backup or something in the league. Yeah. Who had James Winston's New York Giants leading that division where Jaylen Hurts, Dak Prescott, Jayden Daniels, the other quarterbacks. That was a great, James game though. Well, what was he was like? He threw the ball 54 times. It was like 36 of 54.

326 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions, but he did fumble. And the thing that's funny about James is his misses are not even close. But then he gets 30, he gets 36 completions. But when he misses, he misses by like 30 feet. I saw in the week leading up to the game. He admitted that he, he lost his confidence. And even when he came back to take over that first game, he didn't feel like himself. And he said, I see that people are liking the James Winston experience and he got his confidence back. I want to be like, that experience is almost more of a comedy. We enjoy watching, but whenever you want to tell yourself that you care. None of us were like, wow, James Winston's back. Look out. It's more like I have to watch TV when James Winston's on it because anything could happen. He's 10 yards down the field and he is pumped. Oh, that was great. That was great. But, you know, people are laughing at him about that, but it got bit. He did. He jumped. It actually worked. He was passed the first down mark. It kind of worked, though. I got given credit. I don't think that was that bad. Yeah, I, I loved it in Tampa. It's, uh, it's ups and downs with him.

No doubt. So they get that time where literally, I honestly, they should disband the house of representatives. Never wanted to have nothing to do with the game. That's just my general view. It's separate of the, separate of the game. In military families, service is more than a job. It's a legacy. At American military university, that legacy can help open new doors through education. Because he got hurt early in that game. I mean, they should still be better than that.

I mean, CD, they could have left him at home and they should beat the buck, even though he's been so good. Their defense is just awful. And they were at home? Yeah, that's a good offense. And they were supposed to fix that defense in the off season. And it does not seem to be any better. You watched the game. I'm sure more intently than I did. Yes. And the bucky Irving seems to be the steal of that draft class. They got him in like the third or fourth round. He looked really good. What year was that? Three years ago. I think I've had him on my fantasy team every year. So I feel like he's been in the league for 12 years. Is he not been in the league? No, three or four years. So how he's been in the league. He's good. He's good. He looked really good. But this is much more about the Cowboys. You know, they talked about the defensive coordinator, youngest in the league, taking over. He could tell. And Jerry's probably talking about him on his radio show right now. Yeah, he he's not been great. But I mean, to be fair, the guys before him weren't great either. I mean, that's been the issue. They just can't seem to get an defense there. No big. Their biggest priority this past off season after last year. All the points they gave up.

They don't seem to have done any better. I know there's one high scoring game, but that's good. That's their big problem. But he's still, I mean, they always scored 16 points. Yeah, that's tough. And C.D. Layout has been great this year. I think he you could have made an argument. He should have been one of the MVP candidates coming into the league. And then when he goes out, looks like a different team. And then you go to the Eagles. I mean, if it wasn't for the giants and commanders, the Eagles situation would have been the most egregious. I had a unique game watch experience for this. I bet the Eagles money line. I watched them kick that fill goal. And it was kind of right as we were getting the afternoon slate. I turned it off two hours. I mean, I had no idea. And I went to it was like second half of the one pdm. Games. I went to my draft Kings, assuming that money would be there. I had no idea that happened. So then I'm like, well, did they wave off the Eagles? Fill goal. I saw it go in. I had no clue that they gave up that kick return. But so ever here again, eight seconds. I don't know. I don't understand that these new kickoff rules have been in effect for what?

Two years, maybe three years. Long read. So you have three. Three. Three. Three. How do these coaches still not understand? So you had the game. What was the game a couple of weeks ago? Was it the chiefs where the Raiders made the mistake the opposite way? Who was it that made the mistake where they should have kicked it to them and they kicked it out of the end zone? There was a game. I got to think. I don't have that on top of it. Well, there was a game where there were like 20 seconds left. And they should have kicked it out of the end to them and run the clock instead. But here's the thing. In that game, the team they were playing had timeouts. That was the key. They had timeouts. So you wanted them to run some clock because they had timeouts. In this game, the Jaguars had no timeouts. So you want to kick it out of the end zone because even if they complete a pass,

they will not be able to stop the clock. Get out of bounds. There only hope. Dallas and Baltimore. That was exactly what it was. Dallas and Baltimore and Dallas won. Right? Or did both? That was in Spain, too. I remember that now. Raven scored on the last second field goal. They had one timeout. So it wasn't as clear cut as this. But they had one timeout. And so you kick it to them because they have that timeout you wanted to run the clock. In this case, with no timeout, kick it out of the end zone. So I think here's what I think happened. I think the Jaguar or the Eagles coach, Nick Cereani, he saw what happened before. Wasn't smart enough to differentiate the situations. And then did and made the opposite decision and it worked backfire the other way. That was so crazy because he was not going to take it for a touchdown. There's still a lot of guys. You could have let him go 10 more yards. Yeah. And I know in the moment your brains not watching the clock, you're just trying to make a tackle. But if that guy waits half a second to make the tackle, it's game over. I mean, there were defenders in front of him. You're exactly right.

It was over it. And the guy comes up from behind shoe strings and like made a play. He's like, that dude doesn't exactly, you're going home a winner. It's a great point. Great point. And the hole he had even making move. He just shot straight up the gut and all the way down to and cam little. If not in Dallas, he's probably the best kicker. Yeah, he is. He's one of the two best kickers. That was a great game. Well, that was also Jude Bellingham's celebration from England. And so being in London, it was the perfect time to make it out. He would have been the go to that game. But that's the extra point that allowed the Eagles to take lead, so for him to get that redemption. But I mean, I don't think his extra point. We heard more about long snapping in that game than we've heard in the game in a long time, because. So their long snapper got hurt. When did he get hurt? Because it sounded like he was never in the game. Was that just a case of because they were in England. They didn't bring another one. I'm not sure about when he was out. No, I mean, I think that actually might be true because I believe he got scratched before the game. the game. So if the game had been in Jacksonville, probably you would have just a practice squad

play. We're on up your practice squad long snapper. But they were probably like, well, he can't get to England in time. You need a fan in the stands to come down and long snap for it. And poor guy. I mean, the dude they had, how's he the backup? Every snappy had we even the good, even the ones that weren't even the snap on the final kick was bad. Yeah. Oh, that was way high. I thought the the holder was going to go over. He should go to the problem. The holder. Whoever that guy was. I just for me, it's amazing. What Jacksonville did that? The Eagles. What a joke. They had 20 rushing yards. I mean, how are you this bad? I did that fake rant when that bit we did a week ago where I'm like, sir, you're honest to be fired. Part of that was just leaning to the bit. But no, that this is inexcusable to have that talent. And so he's a. So who's going to be the first coach to get fired? I guess the contenders are him. Is harboring contenders? Yeah. A lot of the coaches are new this year. We had a lot of changes. Is your coach? I guess

how do I want to actually think if you all had lost, he might have gotten fired because it was a Thursday night. They would have had 10 days or whatever. The expectation, expectations between the bucks and the Eagles are not even in the same conversation. The Eagles are supposed to be a contender. Yeah. How much time does it Super Bowl win by you with Nick Cereoni? So this is two years after it. I think generally speaking, I think the answer would be two years. And so you shouldn't fire him until next year. But I think he is oddly so egregious that I think you have to find. I mean, they were some people were talking about ready to rip the band ass with him last year. Eagles fans have been disappointed with him since he got the ring. It feels like NFL will give coaches a longer time. Like in hockey, they will fire coaches for having a bad week. Now they will. I mean, last year, I think the Philadelphia Flyers went to playoffs for like the first time in eight years where this feel good story. And they've started out the season like 0 and 6 and they're probably

going to fire their coach. And like last year, I think he might have been naming the NHL coach of the year. And I think they're going to fire. And then I think last year, the Las Vegas team was like in the playoffs, seven games before the playoffs, they just fired the coach. I had no guy. They almost won. And then they fired him at the end of the year. He's cut the rope. Don't think about that for me. Yeah. The Las Vegas nights, there were eight games before the playoffs. They fired their coach, even though they were going to be in the playoffs. Eight games for the playoffs. Hard to sky. He takes them to the finals, loses four games to two and they fired him at the end of the year. Not good enough. Yeah. Didn't Mike Brown win coach of the year? It was fired like six months later. Five years ago. Yeah. But in football, they you're right. You win and you do get along long leagues. Well, when they, when the Eagles did get their Super Bowl, remember, there's the Jalen Hurts like Jordan ad. Everybody's Jalen Hurts this. Jalen Hurts that Eagles might be the new, whatever. This is sad to see them start the season this way. I know Barclays heard

between you rushing yards. Come on. Yeah. Well, it's a, I don't think AJ Brown was the problem. I don't think they tried to make him a little bit of escape goat and his locker room issue. So I don't think AJ Brown was holding that home. Who's winning this division? Giants and James Winston because they're in the league. I feel like no, they won't. I still think it's probably going to be the Cowboys. And the Cowboys and the Eagles are both two and three. Is that right? Yeah. Yeah. And I, this is the worst part about ties. I hate to look at it. The standings. I had third column. Get on the alert. Just either, give them a winner or lost. I just need a clean standing here to help me with the man. It's another thing that happens in hockey. I don't know whether the ties the middle one or the last one. And I never know. Oh, well, I think it's on the end for us. Yeah. And then overseas. It's in the middle. So that's why I think that's right. I'm confused when draw lose and soccer. So it's, it's when lost time here in the United States. Don't you think time should be in the middle? I don't think it should be in the game.

Like, okay, let's say you have a tie. It should be in the middle because a tie is in the middle of a win and a loss like the wind draw loss. If anything to keep a consistent with what it already exists, this is like the metric system. What? The metric system. No, I know what the metric system is. Like how we adopted that and nobody else has really saying we just didn't. They just adopt the metric system. No, he said we went row. We're just system in place. The metric system is what everyone else. Yeah, flip it and reverse it. That's what Billy said. Why are we going against what's already out there? Everybody else does. I agree with you. So we should, we think we should put it in the middle. We should adopt the metric system is what I'm saying for ties, put it in the middle. Okay, but Todd, you're making a connection between ties in the metric system that I don't believe is based in, in new, in numbers. It's based in arrogance and us doing whatever we are. I agree with you. We should have the metric system in life. Do you think we should, do you think it's too late to, oh, way too late. Yeah. I still have to Google the conversion rate.

Yeah, but, but the metric system actually makes sense. Like how many feet are in a month? No, no, I mean, let's let's, let's, let's, three thousand. No, what is it? You should know this. Everyone should know this. We learned it. Five thousand one hundred eighty two. Close. Five thousand two hundred eighty. I knew I had the aids in the ones in the two thousand two and eighty stupidest number. Yes. No, I mean, why was that the number? Well, I mean, the bargats, yes, and it all gets perfect. It is, but, but, but it also just showcases who decided that 12 inches to a foot. Why not just make it 10 exactly or five? 12. And then how many yards are in a mile? Why do we even have yards? What does a yard do? Do you use the yard every except outside of football? Not outside. No, and that bargats, you think that's a really good job about that because he's right. Yards don't exist outside of football. I'm not one time in my life. Why don't football just make it feet of golf golf, golf, too, but those two, well, true, both. Why is, is a football field not 300 feet?

I don't know. You got to have 30 feet. You have to have 30 feet for maybe too many hash marks. I guess that could be a paint saving on paint. Yeah. It's a paint. So we're cheap. That's what it is. We're cheap with our paint and look at us now. And then fair and high and Celsius is the same way. Fair and high also dumb. What's the boiling point? Do you all know? Couldn't tell you. It looks pretty hungry to know. Do none of you know the boiling point? Just when the bubbles start coming up, but you know what that is? Fair and high? No. We live in America. Why? We don't need you know, and that's not 160. It's 212. Celsius is 100, right? Which makes a lot more sense. Yeah. But what's interesting is their freezing point is zero. Our freezing point is 32. Why? Why? It doesn't make any sense. Why? Like you could have just said 30. You made it up. Or we could have just said zero.

I'm saying, if you are going to make it up, you can still do even. You're literally making it up. You can do whatever you want. That's what we say. Like when they came up, let's just say they came up with our temperature. We could have just made zero. We could have been like, we're going to start with this. And for some reason, they were like, let's just start with 32. Or even if you wanted to do yards, make it five. You know, just let's just keep things even. Yeah. Because the the it's two yards to go 10 feet. This is very metaphysical. But a foot is a foot just because we set it. Right. Like a foot could be 18 inches. An inch could be a deer. Like we you could have picked anything. In military families, service is more than a job. It's a legacy. At American military university, that legacy can help open new doors through education. All right, let's go. We're seeing it. We mentioned the Cowboys and then we mentioned the Jaguars Games. Let's go to Packers Bears. Just a brutal beat down. The Tyler Begent was the Tyson Begent. They have one more week without Caleb. Would you start Keenum? You paid a lot of money for Begent to be your backup. I'd probably just roll with him. He looked at the other game. He had a bad game. Green Bay needed to wake up eventually. This was just their wake up and you were the other team. I wouldn't get Caleb back in a hurry, but I don't think I'd go to Keenum over Begent. He was really bad, though. He was really bad. He made some awful throws. He was awful. They brought Keenum in at the end and Keenum drove him now to the field, which will only make that a bigger discussion in Chicago. We did just survive. We're three and two. Problem is both of our losses are to division teams and we play at the Falcons. That's a tough

game because that's a game you need to win and you got to make sure you don't screw it up and beat yourself. Well, Penix got right into that one because there's some talking points in that game. Christian Watts and though quickly becoming maybe one of the best receivers in the league. That catch was crazy. That was great. He's got six touchdowns this season. I think that's second in the league and that catch was one of the best of the day. Do you all like Christian Watts is a good example. The guys that have done the interviews with us. Are you like I think my brain was like, yeah, we know what kind of thing. I've got a female friend of mine that doesn't only think about football, but she really cares about her fantasy team. She makes me help her with the drive and then gets mad at me as if I'm doing you a favor and she's angry. And I had her pick Christian Watts. Oh nice. And then she'll send me before the week should be like, who should I start and I always say start Christian Watts and she won't. Hmm. What? He had two yesterday. Well, because it's only like an 18 league so you can be

loaded with stars and then she wrote me a stay and said you didn't tell me to start Christian Watts. I was like, I was tired of telling you. You just kept ignoring me. Two to two day. So I do room for him and I actually picked him for her because of our interview. What did you all make of the Jersey screen bay? I didn't like him. I didn't know what that color was. My color will then have that color. Yeah, it was almost like. I'm Rwiji Biv doesn't have that. It was almost like people that have glaucoma version of there. It was like Smoker's long. It was what I imagine. Smoker breath looks like. I heard the announcer explain it as it's to their stock like the green bay. No, they own the team. It's a nod to like the old I don't know if it's the paper was printed on, but that was the explanation. It's a nod to like, yeah, it's like paper that's been out on the sun. Is that what it was? That's what it was. We're smokers. Oh, either one. Just a nod. I think they should retire that. I thought it was ugly. Now, what are we going to do for our uniforms this year? Oh, a nod to the old contract.

But nod to stocks. It's set out in the sun. Well, they're one in them. Well, they didn't win. Maybe they'll bring it back. Mingles 31 dolphins 24. I'm going to make a confession here. I don't remember this game. This was I know my multiview. I know it was on television. Well, then you give us the ramp up. Uh, burrow look good. Four touchdown passes. I think the story is that is a little closer than anyone expected. It wouldn't have been like a touchdown game. I don't think there's any point we thought the dolphins would win, but they showed some life. Well, it's kind of like the chiefs game against the the dolphins. Yeah. I felt like you always kind of knew the Bengals were going to win, but the dolphins hung around. Yeah. So that's partially why I had my multiview. I'm watching it, but at the same time, it's like, well, the Bengals are going to win this. But you know, burrow having a good game. When earlier in the week, Higgins and Chase were both questionable. I'd say it'd be the top headline there. Yeah. Jamar played and played well in that game. Um, burrow through for four touchdowns. So good to get back on track. It was good to see burrow be good again. That

Jamar chase catch was great. I mean, you mentioned the Watson case catch his catch and then the trademark ride catch. Oh, yeah. He's so good. So they were like three kind of highlight catches today that that will probably be on the end of the year list. So that was and I guess now the Texans beat the Titans 26 to three. So I think the dolphins can say they're now not the worst. Oh, no, no, no. People are now calling the Titans the worst team in decades. Like if you laughed at the jets, you're going to laugh even harder at the Titans. We're that bet. We've won three home or two home games in three years or three home games in two years. Excuse me before this. Yeah, but I think they're extra bad. No, they are. Did you see the clip of the left tackle blocking no one? It's hilarious. It's really. He just got him on Twitter and scroll down because I retweeted it pretty late last night. It is one of the best football bloopers you'll ever see. But they're just so bad. I mean, their numbers, if you were to just look at like analytics, the last team and whatever category you want to pick, you could build a Walmart

between them and the Titans further down on that same sheet. Oh, that's it. That is great. Oh, and he just lets the guy we're on by do. Yeah. Well, that's one of the worst plays I've ever seen. I got to go back to that again. So who's he looking at here? Yeah, exactly. We kicked the field goal on the opening drive. Yeah, we led kicked a field goal on the opening drive and never did anything again. That is three points. That's one of the worst plays of it. Three American points. I do like the guy that posted it to his name is Stone Titan. Yeah. Yeah, they're off. I did. I enjoyed the sign that said, blink twice if you need help. Cam. Oh, we had the brown bags out. We're there. I told you all before this season started. It's happening. This is my life. So they're the worst team, right? Yes. And the reason I saw this, Titans fans know if you look at our draft history, there's not like anyone that's done anything. And when you have a top 10 pick so many years and none of them do anything for you, you're never going to be good. Yeah. It was a thing. They do this thing at the beginning of the Kentucky games where they show everyone that plays in the NFL from Kentucky. First, we have a lot

more than you realize. We're doing well. And we'll let this got the biggest like ovation. Oh, really? Which I thought was kind of strange because it's like he's only kind of in the league. But I wonder if he's on the Titans. And I'd say Will's more in the league than Juan Del being on a practice squad. Like Titans don't even, but you know, in soccer, you have to move down. I think they should be put in like the Mac relegated. Yeah, relegated. We do not belong in the national football league. Okay. Well, they did. People are being mean to Cam Ward. And I'm just really are. Listen to me. No, baby's listen. I'd say that to the face. Um, people are being really hard to to Cam Ward. And he's not been good. I'm just point to, I just need people that don't watch the Titans to understand peak Tom Brady would be called a bust in this offense. People were hard on levis. People were hard on mulek Willis. I'm not saying Mario's loving this. I think Mario. I mean, he really is. Yeah. I'm not saying mulek Willis

or will have to answer. I'm saying those guys never had a fair chance because this is just an unbelievable. So you have optimism. No, we drafted. We, we, we, we knew in the moment when we took car and L Tate at four, no one projected him to be there. And we're like, okay, let's see if this works out, not working out. Add him to the list of draft picks that will be on other teams trying to make the roster. He's a wise, he's a wide receiver though. Like who's going to get him the ball? I don't know. I don't, I wish we just show up and just point. First, Danley play the, uh, we have Robert solid Brian Debel. I understand his head coaches. They got fired, but you would think two guys that were head coaches, the NFL maybe could collectively win a football game. You would think so. No. The Chicago Bears scored more points in week one, 59, than the Tennessee Titans have scored through their first five weeks. That's amazing. Excuse me, two in 19 in Nashville in the last 21 games. Yeah. Well, new stadium on the way. And you know what? Next Sunday, I'll be sitting there and I'll watch every snap because I can't quit him. I hate him

and I can't quit him. Jets 17, Browns 12. This was an awesome game in the rain. The Sean Watson had multiple chances there at the end to bring him back and just couldn't. This was probably the Sean Watson everybody thought they were going to see throughout the year. And if you didn't watch commanders giants, this is the game where Browns and Jets were trying to lose. There are a lot of plays. It's like, okay, well, that's the deciding one. Then they just give it right back. That's kind of what you expect from the schedule comes out and you see Browns versus Jets, but both these teams would play a little better than the expectations, but they both look bad. It was a boring rain. Yes. It's not a time to turn. I think that didn't help either. That it was just a constant delusion, rain. I also didn't like how Aaron Glund was seductively waving his challenge flag. Did you see that did sleep? seductively. It's like he was like trying to make eye contact with me. Well, he was doing that. Here's here's the video. Oh, that is a little. I have not making eye contact with the ref. Where if I am the ref? Yeah. That's interesting. Did you have the Browns at three and two?

Even though they lost this one, but still got a winning record. No. I mean, I mean, I mean, Browns were almost four. Jets have been like better this year. I got to know what the record is going to end up, but they are much more competitive this year than they've been. They could easily be three and two. I think it was the packers that they should have beaten that they kind of blew it at the end. Yeah, they finally got their interception. Yeah. Things were happened. Steelers 34, Colts 22. The Colts, where they have five field goals. It was a lot. They just couldn't convert. They actually drove the ball a lot. They just couldn't get the in zone. And then Aaron Rodgers has these moments where he looks good, but really Jalen Warren was the story. He was just a guy who's on my fantasy team kind of helped. Oh, you had that had been a big number for him. I had Drake May and Jalen Warren. Oh, nice. But it was good because the rest of my team, C.D. Lam got hurt. You know, we, we, we, this next man opened up. Yeah. One played it time.

Yeah. I was without my top four draft picks in fantasy. That was fun. If you ever get a chance to do that. Jalen Warren had like a 50 yard touchdown and 80 yard touchdown. He was all over the place. Yeah. He was like, but I'm with you. He was the story. He got 16 points in one play, which I don't think I didn't like he, because it was an 80 yard touchdown reception. So he got the point for catching six points for the touchdown. So 15 points and then eight for the yards. And on the other end, I thought this would be a big Jonathan Taylor game. He didn't do a whole lot. No, he did not. So. Well, the Colts get the Titans next week. Congratulations. I want me to talk more about the man. Patriots Raiders. We were ready to give up on Drake May. And then he was huge. It was great. Actually, this was so weird to see a guy play so bad the first three weeks. And then the last two weeks has been excellent. And this looked like the Drake May that people say exists. He looked like in that game. Yeah. In the preseason, people were ranking him as a top five quarterback and MVP candidate. That's the Drake May they were

talking about five touchdowns. The last two weeks, they've really gotten their turnovers down. The offense had a ton of yards this game on the other side. Though we got to see Mendoza for the first time came in and handed off. So they called his number late the game through one pass. And I get hit in the arm. Yeah. They were like, right. No, a whole lot. But I mean, they did get a nice pop when he came in first time seeing him in the. I saw there were a lot of people there within the ante jersey. He's not just like, man, you go all the way out there. I guess probably bought the tickets before the season started. We're like, ah, we'll go hunting. We'll go to the game. And then you get to see one garbage time thing. Maybe they took a picture of him. He's in there briefly. But you know, the right injuries. It was a bad bad loss. Yeah, trailing on interesting guy. And Will Campbell. Yeah, we can't rely on him. He says, Will Campbell's like out for the year. I'm not sure on the. He's the guy that just got completely burned during the Superbow, yeah, the LSU lineman. Yeah, he's good though. I just had a short, superbow. Yeah, he's got the

Viking Saints. The Viking stink in there. I can't hold it for the best defense in the NFL. I took. I bet Saints money line just solely because I don't want to live in a world where the Vikings are fervent over that roster. And they got me here. Justin Jefferson New Orleans guy. I got to touch down his gritty. Uh, Colin Murray decent Aaron Jones. It's been kind of disappointing to me this year. I thought they'd be pretty good. And they're one and four. And the thing is they lose to bad. They lose these bad teams like they should be three and two or four and one. And they've had some close losses. It was a week one. They were in a shootout with Detroit. Lose at the end. Uh, I think there's one more game. They're in until the very end. Maybe I had Baltimore. You know, they won at Baltimore. The Raiders. They lost to them at home. 35 to 27. That's maybe that's one I'm thinking of. But they've been right there in a couple of these games. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Kyler Murray. He's not good. I don't understand how they're five. No. Like let me look at the rest of their schedule. Like are they going to keep winning? I mean, they play the cults next week. Then the Lions, the bills, the Packers and the four

knives. So the schedule gets harder. So we'll find out. But they can easily win next week. I mean, they could go into that game against the Lions six and oh, and they're winning. So it's hard to describe them, but they've scored nine points, 15 points, 20 points. Like the offense isn't doing much. And part of it's the schedule. I guess they did go to they did beat. I mean, they beat the Packers. They beat the Bears. Then Tampa, Miami, New Orleans, those teams stink. But I don't trust that offense. But the Bears game. It was pouring rain. It was nine to three. I don't know. But they're five and oh. So Chakras scoreboard Broncos charges. Has there ever been a quarterback fall off more than Justin ever? Not at all. And this was the year where I was like, you got one more chance to do something. And not only is you're not taking a step forward, you've taken like five steps backward. Harbaugh City was going to be the best quarterback of all time. You. I mean, you would have thought though with Jim Harbaugh who has had successful quarterbacks. Mike Medaniel who had successful quarterbacks. And then a guy who had been successful.

This would be a positive step. And he's awful. What I think they turned over twice late in the game. They've blamed the line for a year and a half now. At some point, it's not the line. I know the line has been banged up and it's not good. But maybe also Herbert and Harbaugh and Medaniel's not getting it done just collectively either. The fact that there's a chance that they weren't going to work out. But the fact that the Chargers are in five is I think the biggest surprise of anything that's happened this year. They're off its line as four rookies on it right now. So I mean, I can understand some struggles for four. Well, okay. But if you're going to have the invest in this like allegedly top six top seven quarterback, you can't just play four rookies. You got to have something else. I can't believe they have four rookies in. That is kind of crazy. But I still don't care. He's still awful. He'll have open throws and just throw it to the other team. That's what I'm saying. The line excuse only works so long when you're oh and five and it just looks like you're bad at football. I'm sorry about your line. But it's also you. Yeah. Well,

not a good guy. I was wearing great offensively here. No. Got the win though. Yeah, they did just enough. Krab was all wrong, because fans lines and cardinals, you know, the line started out knowing too. Got that just beat down loss to the bills. But now 4521 at Arizona, a team that at least had been kind of frisky early in the year. The lines are unique. I think last year, I said they're super bold defense and they're super offense or defense needs to be in college. It kind of proved out again here. But that offense is so good as the boils and others are the lions might even have the best offense. But yeah, great. Great running back. And great. You know, receivers. The port is good. Good. Too good. Tideans. Goff. Brown. This is the game when I go to roosters on Sunday. I go to roosters during the late games. Good pick. They the cardinals are always playing. And it's only on one TV usually. And so I tend to just not see any of it. So I

just want to say I didn't see any of it. I looked us up because I had the feeling I just want to be sure the lions number one in points per game and several offensive categories. They score more than the bills. I would not have had even though I think they're good. I wouldn't have expected that. There's got to be all offense for them this year. And thirty first and thirty first. Yeah, thirty one again. As well. They keep scoring 49ers beat the sea hawks. Great game. Both teams, I thought played really well. 49ers are the best team in the league. Yes. When you consider they still have all all these injuries. And they just find a way to win and they beat good teams. I mean, they've, you know, they've beaten the sea hawks, the Broncos, dolphins, by cardinals and Rams. They beat in their two biggest rivals who might be the second and third best team in the league. And did you see I am that those were scheduled road games. So the next time they play those teams, they're both of them are going to come to San Francisco in the substation. This is a huge win at the end. I don't know if you are watching, but it ended on a review. Cooper Cup. I thought had a first down and they didn't give it to him. It's very close.

I would have given it to him just so I'm not the one deciding the game. I would have said first. I thought he got it. I did too. But for a game with that magnitude, I mean, that could decide who has home filled if they meet again the playoffs ending like that was nuts for the game of the day. There's seven combined turnovers in the game. There were a lot of turnovers ending in the end zone. Yeah. For a touchdown. Mike Evans looked great. Showed you why he's in my almost great. Yeah. I know your team won, but as a bucks fan, Mike Evans looked like he was 20. He looked incredible. Yeah, he looks exactly what I thought would happen. He thinks him, Arnold, did he get hurt? Do you think? Have they said anything clear? He looked like he got hurt. And then his couple throws after it were not the quite the same. I thought he looked like he got hurt to me. Now I could have re aggravated what he's been out with. I don't know. I haven't seen anything on that yet. In military families, service is more than a job. It's a legacy. At American military

www.tremphayaradio.com Do you ever wonder about why it's 17? Why does Cobi Berset get to start everywhere? And Tyler Huntly always has to snoop, always has to be Lamar's backup. The Ravens are gay keeping them. They found the perfect backup. They can run the system just the way they want. They play him just enough for no one really notices and trusts. That's true. He gets a couple games a year. I had a little anytime touched down here. I had 200 yards. Random ball a little bit. Pretty good. Look good. And then port to a. So I watched 95% of this game. Maybe we'll call it 80.

And I'm not paying. I didn't know to have was in for the there at the end. And I got someone just send me Oh no to a text. It's all it's in. I'm like my god. Truly to have done something else. So immediately go to Twitter and there it is. So he had a completion in regulation and then they put pinnocks back in. And then I guess he started hurting more and so been to a day to over to. To a just. I would love to see you on a beach. Just go live, man. You think that play might have ended it. Well, he just become a meme. The turnovers are always a blooper. That was a horrible. I mean, when's the last time someone was just speaking positively, how could it football to is? It's not. It's like buddy, you you're great. The Alabama moments were great. The early NFL stuff was fun. Nicole, live your life, man. If you don't have to do this sad. It's kind of sad, you know, there's a bad interception. Yeah. I think Michael pinnocks might be all right. I think he might be good. Is that plausible? You mean good football like his injury last night. I don't know. I don't know if he'll be able to stay

healthy in his life. But I do think he's pretty good. And so the Ravens is around him, help him. So I'm a little bit of falcons believer when he's healthy with all the guys he has around him. Does Mark Andrews have to retire? He had a bad game. Again. Yeah. Is he had if these other games been bad? Well, he had the big drop in the playoffs. So he's got the bad turnover. The Ravens fan base. I don't know if they really, and he's a problem. It's a problem because he's a legend. And that stinks. But he has been bad. Tower loop big game for me. My god, looped. All right. So there's your wrap up. All right. A couple of news notes and we'll get out of here. The Arizona Cardinals agreed to trade wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and a 2027 seventh to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2027 second and sixth round pick. Marvin Harrison Jr. reunites with his Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud. He was the fourth pick in the 2024 NFL draft. And in 33 games with the Cardinals, he had a 1500 yards and 13 TDs.

Found this to be a really weird story. They announced he was traded, but then didn't say who it was they were just like Marvin Harrison traded film in 11 like three days later than they say who it is. I mean, it's almost like they were just they just decided, yeah, we're just we stink. Or they may be like he stinks. I've never though I've never seen a story where they told you he was traded without telling you who for many days. And then I wonder the Texans coaches the one that announced it in the press conference yesterday. Oh, by the way, we got Marvin Harrison as he's walking off. Why do you think they didn't say where he was going? I don't know. I know I do. I think it was panning on if they beat the Titans or not. I mean, if they lose to the Titans, that's a season. That may actually be true. Like we're if we beat the Titans and we're going to do but then what do they do if they don't beat the Titans? It deals on your own. Yeah, it's you've already said he's traded. So you can't like I've just kidding. Other team that was interested has to take him at that point.

So you think they had a backup option? Interesting. Maybe that would make some sense. The Texans need help. I don't know if he's the answer. They're wasting a good defense. Yeah, I don't know if you've seen the like, um, I know I keep bringing them to hockey, but it comes up this dude for the Troy we're Edwings names Dylan Larkin. He demanded a trade during the off season. He's like this their best player like beloved demands a trade. The red wings are just like no. And so at first he's like, well, then I'm not going to play and they're like, nah, then we're not going to get paid. So he decides to play. And on opening night, the fans just boo the hell out of it. And they're just like, boo, then the next guy, boo. And then he scores. And it just goes to show fans just like, so maybe you're kind of rotting back and been like, well, we didn't try Jim. Yeah, we can forgive. Since you brought a hockey, I wouldn't

do this, but your hurricanes outscore the Titan yesterday. Just wanted to let you know. Congratulations. Did you see the hurricanes posted a mean tweet? Did you see the tweet? They filled out your flyers. And they said the hurricanes have more wins in the month of October than the flyers, fillies and eagles come by. That's a look. That's only five. Isn't that wild? That's one of the meaner tweets I've ever seen. It's a deep cut if you're a Philly person. So those you think it's bad. But then you see it like that's like, oh god, holy fat. All right, what else? Last Friday, legendary bears head coach and first high end ever inducted into the pro football hall. If they might dick up, passed away at the age of 86, dick is 85 bears is arguably the greatest defense and NFL history. And the franchise is only super bowl. He was the fifth overall pick in 1961 drafted by the bears. Rest in peace, Mike dick.

One of the, I was trying to think probably the only person, the only other person this describes is John Madden, a great player, a great coach, a great broadcast. How many other people like Hall of Fame level player, Hall of Fame, Fame level coach? I don't know if he was a Hall of Fame level broadcaster, but still very good for a long time. I mean, only John Madden is like that. And in a ledge, I mean, like the coach of my youth, the, you know, I talked about this a lot on other stuff, but I was really sadden to see, I mean, for me, you know, if you were to say, okay, who are the Mount Rushmore of coaches in my life? It would be like Rick Patino, John Calpari, Mike dick. I mean, that would be good for, and then maybe Bobby Cox for back when I was a brace. Legend also there. Yeah, I know, I don't, I don't go back far enough to put him as places ranking coaches, but when I think of just like a, like a character or maybe a personality, even a look, it's like Mike dick. Like,

it's like an image of Mike did get there's Mike coaches better than him, but he's like, there's like a Mike dick of brand. Yeah, yeah, we talked about Halloween costumes, you know, SNL skits. I can't think of many coaches that have that, like just a look in a brand that he had. And he fight any embodied the city. Yeah. Like when you're like, I'm not sure how many coaches have ever embodied a city more than Mike dick and body Chicago. Everything about played in Chicago, coached in Chicago. Kind of seemed like he was cool. There's that famous clip of when, apparently he only, he didn't use credit cards, even into the 2010s, only carried cash, carried a roll of cash everywhere he went. We want there's that famous clip of Chris Carter on the espn countdown going, show him coach, and he just pulls out a big wad, a roll of dollars, and they talked about how that's where he does. If he goes to, they would do the show in New York, he would go to restaurants, just pull out his big wad on the table and throw it down and pay for

everybody's meal. I speak to restaurants. I was thinking in late 80s, 90s, heck, maybe you didn't really died. I bet him on the city of Chicago was, it was a time. He had a restaurant walking up in the steak houses and on the joint. I mean, I remember his steak house. He had a dip because steak house for a long time. New Year's Eve. How old years it? I was there. New year's Eve. Yeah. And then part coach of arguably the most iconic team of all time. Maybe the most iconic team like who are the most iconic teams in the history of sports? I mean, I don't know. 85 bears. The USA hockey team. Yeah, but who's on that team? I mean, like there was, no one knows the names of those players, but like everybody knows Walter Peyton, Jim McMahon and the fridge. Yeah. You know, I'm trying to think, I guess, I mean, like there are dynasties like the Jordan dynasty and the magic and bird, but really those dynasties in some ways were defined by like a player, the Jordan bulls, the magic bird Russell. But the bears,

I mean, Walter Peyton was a star, but it was kind of like a collective almost aura of a group. You know, great defense. And he was the sort of model of that, you know, I didn't know. My Dico is a football coach. I saw him in kicking and screaming with welfare. I've heard, I've heard, I've heard though that he was good and that was very good. I watched his golf video that would viral this week. Oh, yeah, he's pretty good golfer too. Yeah. All right, who else? All right, I got a couple more after leading a game winning drive to get the 49ers to 5 and 0. Brock Pertie is now the favorite to win the NFL MVP according to draft Kings at plus 280. It should be the first time all season that Josh Allen has not been the favorite. Brock Pertie has 1200 yards, 13 touchdowns and two interceptions for the 2022 seventh round pick. I've been a skeptic, but no reason to be this year. He's been great. He has. He's earned that. And we mentioned like Kittle hit in the jets a week ago, just that whole operation looks good and healthy. Look a little younger than they actually say on their IDs. I've been very impressed with the 49ers. And you

saw, you may have heard, uh, uh, what was it? Ryan Lewis read it said something to the effect of Brock Pertie's great, but basically said if Jaywin Hertz had, uh, if Jaywin Hertz had been in Kyle Shanahan system, he would have been the same thing. You can do that a lot with different things. It's a hard game to play, but I do agree the Shanahan system and that roster is probably a lot of guys that would do well. Maybe not as well as Pertie's doing right now, but that looks like a place a lot of people could win. Yeah. And finally, for the third straight season, all four NFC North teams have a winning record at the same time. No other division has accomplished this feat even two consecutive seasons since the 2002 realignment. Minnesota's 5.0 and Green Bay Detroit, Chicago all sit at three and two. So they, what's the stat again? All they all have winning records and that never at the same time. This is the third straight season. All four NFC North

teams have have done this and that's never happened. No other division has accomplished this feat even two consecutive seasons. Wow. NFC North. Isn't too real in real football, real man. That's all I got. It's exciting for you, but also that just shows you the road you got. No, I don't think where this is in our year. I've always kind of thought next year is the year. If the bear is going to do it next year is the year to do it. We just need to make sure we don't take a giant leap backwards. But I never thought this was the year. This is, this to me is the Rams Bill's year and maybe the 49ers like what the Rams and the bills are in a window that may close after this year. Rams definitely. Rams definitely. The 49ers I think still have years and maybe the bills do too, but the rent this is their year. I think the bears window really opened starting next year. And then the other teams are all good too. Except the Vikings are steak and are five of them. Yeah, I'm insane, but I don't think this is the Titans year. I'm not saying anything.

I'm looking at 2,090. That'll be a good year for you all. All right, well, thank you all, Billy. Thank you very much. We will see you hopefully midweek. There's some travel issues that may make it hard to do at midweek. If we don't, we'll see you to start the next week. This is NFL covers.
