Go long! No, I'm not throwing a football with my favorite sun and charles. I'm talking to my new Duke Cannon Puck of soap. It's triple mill to last longer than retain its shape down to the last nub. In fantasy football terms, you could say this long lasting soap takes no buy weeks, or that it's bench proof, or even that it's a surefire league championship winner. Duke Cannon Pucks of soap are built for guys who want a hard working long lasting soap. Catch one yourself at Duke Cannon.com or a target store near you. Duke Cannon Pucks of soap triple mill to last longer. Before this… There's this! As you celebrate the game, take a deeper look at its roots. I just drove through downtown on my way back from the TV station. It is still raining. That's not breaking news. But I saw them setting up for the festival. I think it's the Latina festival that's in downtown. Man, that's a rough draw for a festival or October fest, anything like that. I think football in the rain, but the rest is tough. I keep going back and forth on how I feel about the fact that football just goes ahead and plays in the rain. I really wish there was a way that they could cancel the games because I think it makes for a lousy football. There just isn't any way to do it. The game of football takes too long to prepare for the seasons too short. Rescheduling games is a big problem. You just can't do it. They do cancel them with lightning and stuff, but that's about it. I'm way back to the Naisen High School.

I played in the rain a lot. It was a great equalizer in many ways. Some people can play pretty well in the rain. Better backs who have big hands, bigger guys. It doesn't affect them as much as somebody like me that was smaller with smaller hands. Rain was terrible for our passing game. We're playing on all natural fields then. I asked Waukey, head coach, gay, Baker, because tonight our game is Waukey against Dallas Center Grimes. We matched that overtime thriller last year. I said, how many grass fields will you play on this season? I said, not one. There's not even one on the schedule. It's all turf. It's all artificial turf. Yeah, they had one in Prairie City, which seems like it's at the smallest school that we've ever done a game from. It's one of them. Maybe Witter set, but yeah, it's one of the smaller ones. I think Witter set might even be three A's. PCM2. Yeah, could be. Anyway, it's cost effective because they install it once and see it remain tame.

They do have to replace them. In games like this, provided they've got the drainage system underneath it, it's got to be just a huge difference maker to be able to drain the fields like this. Not only can we imagine in Florida, that's at sea level. Those fields probably didn't drain at all. You probably had big levels out there. Absolutely. They were muddy games. They looked like those old NFL films games. Their uniform would just be caked. In some cases, it got difficult to tell which team was which because you've both just covered in mud. One more thing about the weather tonight, there's a big celebration of our friend, Jerry and Ritter tonight in Van Meter. She has two sons on the football team. She'll be there. David Warrington is doing a big story on this tonight. I imagine people are going to come out there in the rain anyway. Even non-parents are going to come out there because they want to just give Jerry in a

big hug. I wish the weather wasn't any deterrent, but I don't know. Maybe for somebody who is so obsessed with weather like Jerry in, maybe there's something poetic about weather being such a big story on the night she's honored by Van Meter. I think it definitely is. Yeah. I think it's the headline. There you go. The weather and Jerry in. Yeah, it's perfect. And look and look and neck. Yeah, look and neck. They'll be out. That's awesome. Those boys have been rough housing and been playing sports and say we're around around at diapers. Yeah. And there are t-shirts. The Reagan shirts that many have bought were all the profits go to fighting ALS. They say weathering the storm. Of course, on the meaning was more toward ALS, but now it becomes fitting for the weather here. Good news for us. Our game, it is supposed to be clear by the time the game gets here.

And I think that's the case over most of these central aisle football fields that man wake up to more rainy weather in September. All right, it's Murf and Andy on a Friday. A lot to get to and we're going to be all over the place today. So thanks for being with us. The biggest party of the year is here. Zach Brown Band. Howard by AD. Murf and Andy live in on demand across Iowa everywhere from the Channel C studio. See many references to happy Dolly Parton day. I had to think that one through but it's nine to five today. Yeah, I saw that. I was, you know, Dolly was trending this morning and I thought, well, what's going on because we're still mourning our loss and that's true or it's because she's the hottest Halloween costume out there and that's true. And there's some family lawsuit, you know, the fight for money almost always starts. But no, it's no, it's because of nine to nine to five table Saturday from guest house tavern and oyster and west of moin be nice and dry there all day and night. Today special is surf and turf coming up on the show. It's find out Saturday. It's not booze and 14 days in Gainesville.

That's all coming up. But let's start with the Packers look awful. I mean, embarrassingly bad. There are a lot of packer fans around here. I can, yeah, I think I can feel AD smiling right now. Just mentioning this, but the Falcons were embarrassed by the packers. Packers were embarrassed by the Falcons. At Lambo field? Yeah, I mean, I know the Falcons are trying to turn things over, but they're still the Falcons until they prove otherwise. And that's game is still at Lambo field. You cannot lose. You can't lose to anybody like that if you're the Packers at Lambo field. But when you lose, when it's the Falcons that that happens to, then you expect for people to be calling for the coach's head and that's what's happening. I'm not surprised at that at all. And Bijon Robinson or Bijon, as he says, it should be said, but I think we've already, we've gone too far at this point. 213 yards and two touchdowns.

I mean, this was just a beating that the Packers took. Jordan Love several times through to no one. I mean, either the route was broken off the wrong direction or miscommunication or miscommunication. He's just forgotten how to pass the football. It would just land like in an open field. People are looking around like, who's he throwing that to? And the Boobards came out early. I see in the comments, some people said they just turned the game off. If you stuck around, there was a lot of booing. Yeah, yeah, I turned it off. I didn't want to say anymore. Yeah, I mean, it's, that's one of those games that it's funny because Green Bay, it's not just Green Bay. Wisconsin is so different with the Packers than every other NFL franchises with their team or NFL state city region is with their team. You know, every one of those seats in that stadium is held by a season ticket holder for the most part. The visitors get a few seats.

But you know, it's basically that you look at the schedule when it comes out and you can tell which games you might be able to buy a ticket to on the second hand market. And this is one of them, this is one of them where the, the rich season ticket holders are like, yeah, I don't think I care about a Thursday night game against the Falcon. So they'll sell that ticket. And the Packers hate that because it's like, that's their next generation of, you know, a season ticket holders is getting a look at those games. They get in there and they, they, they, they, they get there, they finally get their opportunity. And then the Packers suck like they did last night and man, they suck just completely shoots them in the foot. A new meme was born and you'll see this for the rest of football season. This is just a Packers fan. First of all, she looks like she had, has, this game is just given her a migraine headache.

I mean, she's in pain and then she checks her pulse. Yeah. Like this is not AI. This is a fan that's checking her pulse or she's trying to see if her lymph nodes are swelling up with, like an infection or something. Yeah, she's, she's not, she's not well. And it doesn't look warm there. She's got a, she got a big thick coat on. This is only one of the memes circulating today though. I don't know. That's, that's a big one. Now tight end Tucker crafts. This is the, this is the old coming soon. That's Matt LaFlor working at Carlos. Did A.D. make that one? I should. No, no, it's, it was, I found it. It's out. Oh, my God. So a tight end Tucker crafts says he's disappointed, even upset that fans booed. I mean, it feels like he should be glad to even stayed in their seats at this game. This was such a bad effort. But let's, let's get a quickie poll from WCI pools and spas, Aves and Urbandale.

Is it okay for fans to boo their own NFL team when it plays poorly? Yes or no? Absolutely. Yes, absolutely. Yes, absolutely. Yeah, this isn't aimed at one person. It's not the college game, although you could make the case at this point. College and professional teams too, but it just, it does seem there's still a little bit of a distinction there. Yeah, NFL teams, what, what fans are asked to pay to go to these games and then they, they look that bad. Yeah. Yes. And, and not only that, I mean, I, I have more respect for these fans than the ones who just cheer everything, no matter what. Oh, you only got a, you can't stick by. No, I mean, you, you, you paid money for that. And honestly, that kind of feedback is valuable to the team. They, I mean, really, they, they, they want to know as much as painful as it might be and as much as they might not want to hear it at the time. They do want to know what the fans truly think.

They, they, they want to know and, and, and fans, especially in this day and age, but really anytime. And there should be able to set a high standard. And this is a professional team. It's not high school team. These aren't your kids. This can make a difference. Fans are the main reason Iowa went to the elite eight men's basketball last year and, and have new basketball coach now because you didn't have failure with the basketball program. You're a tick above mediocrity. But frame of caffrey kept succeeding just enough to keep his job and get another contract. But the fans finally said like, no, we don't relate to this guy. No, we're not shouting out. I think it's because the athletic director finally listened to the fans. Yeah, that's what I mean. But I mean the fans, but the, the, the fans not only got in her ear, they declined to show up at games. They sold out women's games and average like five thousand, like one third full for men's basketball. That had been going on for a few years.

Yeah, stop donating money. Um, I like, no, not what you want my money. Got changed the coach. Like, didn't have anything to say, right? I mean, they were just just apathetic, just checked out. It's just just went blank. You got no feedback out of them. They just did something else with their time and money. And you know, the, the, the packer fans are as loyal. They're the most loyal in the NFL. I mean, they are probably to a fault. But they have standards and they clearly have a breaking point and they're, they're at it right now. I mean, I don't know though. I mean, if you're, this is an interesting division this year. Man, if you're a Vikings fan, you're feeling pretty damn good. I mean, this could be it guys, because I mean, not only is your team looking pretty good, but the packers are a damn mess. The lions don't look like they've got everything together. And you, you saw what, what happened to the bears last week and that'll continue to be at least some kind of concern.

Absolutely. The lions can score, but they have trouble keeping the other team scoring and they've got injury problems. So yeah, you're right. It's, it has started really well for the Vikings. All right. That is the buzz. The buzz brought you by Lose Year heating and cooling. Lose Year heating and cooling stopped in today. Sean stopped by. Didn't lecture me, but again, reminded me that filter needs to be changed more frequently. That should be really easy. That's your new place. I mean, you got a brand new firm. I just, and he made some adjustments and got us ready for the winter. So I appreciate that. Much appreciated. All right. We start as we, as we find out Saturday is what we're calling it here is Iowa State that much better than expected or is Iowa really not that good? We, I don't think we know yet. Saturday we find out. So let's start with Iowa and Michigan. That's top 20 game. Hank, this is Hank Brown's first road start. I don't, I don't think I, I think he heard Chad Listeko on legends and listeners say

he's never thrown a pass on the road. So in front of 110,000 people, that is something to at least find interesting. He was 12 for 12 against you and I. I mean, let's just be honest. It looked like a scrimmage out there for Iowa. They look like they could score anytime they wanted. But now he faces a Michigan team with a really good defense. Number 18 Michigan. So Kirk Farrant's compared Michigan's defense to a pro defense and Iowa hasn't won an air and Arbor since 2010, five and a half point underdogs. Really interesting game. One of the more interesting games of the weekend. Yeah. And interesting to Michigan fans too. Not to the point is when Iowa fans, I mean, Iowa fans, I mean, we just really aren't sure what we've got yet. I think Michigan feels that way too because of that should have been lost to Western Michigan. Yeah, I mean, you've got one.

I feel like the win over Oklahoma, they can at least make a judgment right with that game. That was a good bounce back. You impressive. I just I, I was state or Iowa has won win and it's a it was a narrow last second win. At home. In a rivalry game. So just had a whole and it was a second game in the season. You just had a whole bunch of elements that kind of combined to tell you that it was a game that was just different. And you know, I don't know. I mean, I, I don't know how anybody can feel confident in predicting what might happen in this game. There are always people that that act that way though. Oh, yeah. I know it's going to win this game or I was going to lose this game. I don't know. I mean, I don't know. This is the difference between what we know now, we know on Monday. I feel like it's going to be pretty big. Weather is not a factor. It's going to be nice weather and and and arbor and their tickets available for like

50 bucks a piece. Of course, you're you're sitting in a different zip code, but you can still you can buy seats. Yeah, different time zone, even. It's it's just so it goes back. It's still still perfect weather 72 degrees in sunny tomorrow. This feels like a low scoring game. I feel like Iowa. I again, we don't know, but I think Iowa can and will win this. I mean, it feels like a 17 13 game to me that Iowa, but we, but I don't know. I I'm not going to pretend to have any feeling of certainty, but going into this game versus how I thought of this game a month ago. I mean, I just don't think Bryce Underwood has been anywhere near as good as expected. I think I was defense is better than anyone expected. It's the leading defense in America right now, statistically, but we also realized Northern Illinois and you and I and an Iowa state team that doesn't have a lot of offensive weapons

at this point. So how much do you take from that? I don't know. What did the committee decide on this game? Yeah, kind of what you guys are saying. It's going to be one of those classic or it looks to be one of those classic Kirk Farens games, right? Both defenses look really good. Limiting possessions, limiting mistakes, whoever throws a pick or has a fumble is probably going to be struggling to come back from that. Both offenses are limited. Can Iowa and Tony Diaz find a way to make something big happen and kind of hold on and then late in the game. If it comes down to a field goal or something is I was our I was special teams really all around solid enough at this point in the season to win a game like this. So I think you're expecting yes, Slobber knocking classic Farens game and you hope I was able to make a big play late to come out on top. Iowa has been more disciplined so far. Fewer turnovers just one on the season, but Michigan has played a little overall better

competition. So I don't even know that you can come to too many conclusions from that, but it's intriguing. So we'll find out what happens there. I think we don't know like many things we don't know, but it feels like a college football playoff elimination game, doesn't it? I mean, the team that loses this game, will they be out of the college football play? If not technically, but that fan base is going to feel like, oh man, it's got to all go just about perfectly from this point on. And if you're Iowa, you got Ohio State and who else watching to just sitting around the corner. Yeah, this is kind of one of those games where if you're going to believe in the upside to this Iowa team, I think you got to be picking them to win this game because this is one of those kind of, you know, fulcrum point games that sends the balance one direction to the other. But I don't know, I got to see more. I mean, Michigan beat the number 11 team. Iowa doesn't have any, I wouldn't, I wouldn't have any, they don't have any material at this

point that you can make that big a judgment on. And I do feel like Monday, if this game goes drastically one direction or the other, like I was there at the big house in what was it 2002 when Iowa blew out Michigan at home. Was that 2002? I think so. I think the Brad Banks played in that game. So it would have been 2002. In Ann Arbor. Yeah, in Ann Arbor. Yeah, that was 2002. Yeah. Yeah. So if it somehow goes like that or if it goes the other way and Michigan just easily wins this game, I think on Monday, we're sitting around going, yeah, you know what? When we saw the sun. Yeah, it does. The signs are all there. Why do we know more Friday? We should have known. Iowa State opens big 12 play against Utah and Utah is unbeaten. They have a two quarterback system and both quarterbacks are good. And as Jimmy Rogers has talked about this week, talked quite a bit in the press conference about they just got to follow the football and be disciplined because hard to know who

has the football and they shuffle those quarterbacks in and out. There is going to be a factor. It is going to be raining in Ames. Going to rain all morning at the 80, what, isn't it a hundred percent chance? Yes. Which doesn't happen very often. A hundred percent. Yeah. Yeah. Of rain. I mean, that's not all day, but. Right. Yeah, especially early on, what times does this game start again? This game is 2.30. Yeah. Well, they're both at 2.30, 2.40 for kickoff, but that's, yeah, they're both at the same time. I wonder if they try to keep the field covered for as long as possible there. I don't know how they do that there. Clearly, this is the most complicated field in America because they're going to have to paint it again. It's grass and it has some synthetic grass sewn in. I mean, we knew, remember when they took this thing up and replaced it? I do. It looked like there was like a city underground with plumbing and sewer and drain. I mean, there's a whole city under. You're like, what the hell is going to look like? What is that Switzerland where you get under there during a nuclear war?

But yeah, it's really complicated. I don't know what I'm always kind of interested in that turf up there because there's so much going on with it. I would always, I would almost, I would like to hear from one of the turf people up there about what they're doing to prepare for this game. Maybe there's nothing. Maybe it's just as good as it can get. It's just going to be out there and drain, but I don't know. I mean, I wonder if they, when you know, when you've had so much rain already and you know you're going to get so much more, you're going to play a game on it. Do you, do you just like, hermetically seal it until the kickoff? You know, what do you do? Do you even like it because this, this seems, I mean, we saw the line move from 11 and a half down to seven and a half in, I think, because of the weather because this, this does. I mean, I, I was, state wants to have an ugly defensive. Let's see who's more disciplined, who wants to hit harder type game against Utah.

I mean, this is a good Utah team or we think it's a good Utah team, but Iowa State owns a five one series advantage. The last time they played, 2024, Iowa State wins a 31, 28. But that, these are different teams. These are different teams. It's important when at the time, as I recall. Yeah. Yeah, I, I, I look at this and I think how in the world can a brand new team be prepared enough or you know, just be familiar with themselves enough to win this game. But I don't know. I mean, we, we, we sure have some signs that Jimmy Rogers can coach. We do. And I don't know. The elements may, may swing things back in Iowa State's favor. I can't imagine that Utah is going to be real excited about being out there, fly all that way just to play a shit weather. Oh, yeah. And that's suck when you go on like a long trip and then you get out and you're like, man, I could have stayed home and had better weather than this.

Oh, yeah. And it's a white out. So get the bleach ready for those uniforms because I was, I was, I was, they were wearing the all white uniforms, white out in the stands. So I guess you wear a clear poncho. So you're don't ever wear a poncho. Don't wear a poncho. Poncho suck. Poncho suck. It's better. Well, how you get a white raincoat? Rain, rain pant, rain pants and a white raincoat. Yeah. Yeah. Dress like you're a meat inspector. Like you're walking around in a slaughterhouse. The rules don't apply when it's raining. Just stay, they don't apply. Stay dry, bring some to sit on. We got it. Rain pants or that that's the key. One more Gore text. Gore text. I saw there's like two to three thousand tickets still available. You can find them on secondary mark for $24 for the hillside, but that that's pretty impressive with this weather forecast coming.

I thought there would be more tickets available. And I know two guys, Chris and Chris Hassel was saying, you know, don't be a big pus. Get out there, support your team. There's no way that he would be out there. There's no way. Nope. He was working maybe, but he's okay with calling others out. Play by play guy. He's totally coddled the whole time. He's he's back in his little under his roof. Do you think he's going to eat his dinner on the hood of the van? Hell no. I did last week. He's so graduated from that. So I I feel like Utah wins this 31 17 something like that. I feel like Utah is going to beat Iowa State, but I also keep in mind is I know you do. Well, Iowa State went to Iowa and I think Iowa is pretty good and had a chance to win that game probably should have without a penalty. In that game.

So why can't Iowa State at home beat Utah? But then that's when it creeps back into your head and you just get on this circle of, well, maybe Iowa is not as good as I think Iowa. We just haven't seen enough. We haven't seen enough and this is fine. We've been out Saturday. This is fine out Saturday. This is what we need. But in, I mean, you're just going with your gut feeling. I feel like Utah is going to win this game. What do you think? That's my gut feeling too. Hope to be wrong. Be fun if I'm wrong. It would be great to be wrong. This would be if Iowa State wins this game in the rain with fans who tough the whole game out. I mean, that's a story for a lifetime of Cyclone fandom. I mean, that is, yeah, I mean, you got out there and paid your dues with this team. And it's a really impressive win. And I mean, that's like a count. I mean, that win does. So I mean, I would love to see that. Would love to see it. I just think that I mean, Utah is a really good team.

They've got a lot of weapons. Certainly they play outside. They're not going to melt in the rain. They're not going to change that much. I don't know that you can't say that Iowa State is more prepared for these conditions than Utah is. Yeah, they're not from Florida. No, they're both play outside. Yeah, yeah. So we'll see. The NFL has fined Kyle Euse checked $15,000 for his touchdown celebration. This kind of turned into a fun story because as he's done many times, he scores and then he does what looks like the chugging a beer. Chugging a beer. Yeah, it looks like chugging a beer, which that also should be okay. Is there any bigger sponsor? 21. Is there any bigger sponsor of NFL products than beer? No. Even if he was doing a beer chugging celebration, come on NFL, but it turns out he doesn't drink during the season. He says it's a juice celebration.

Well, that's kind of dumb, but I mean, just whatever he's chugging, is that the problem is that it encourages irresponsible alcohol consumption? Yes, that is what was said. I think I even might have a line here. Many of these guys stepped into the tailgating lot right outside the stadium at any given time before these games. Yeah, there are people jumping on to folding tables. Yeah, we just can't have that out of Kyle Euse check. No, a word from our audience. He's a full back too. Somebody's pouring beer. Yeah, so the NFL said your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste. Now let's get to some beer commercials. Yeah, that's you.

Come on. I mean, where's the committee? The NFL has enough money. We talk about no guys all the time. They need a no committee, like a keep us from looking foolish committee that's just kind of on the lookout for stuff like this. Potential pitfalls, you know, with the rules where they pour through the rules and they're like, boy, this rule has a chance of making us look stupid sometime in the future. So let's do something about that. They need to be like feriting these things out. Yeah. Take a stand NFL, turn down all the booze money. You know, we're not taking anymore, no more beer commercials, no more beer ads, no more beer sponsors. Yeah, he's not planning Utah. We want to make sure we're being responsible. Here now is Euse check, Brock Purdy and George Kiddell on this scandal. I don't know how else to say it. I wasn't drinking beer in my celebration. I think you guys all know my nickname is juice.

I have juice on my pads. The stadium yells juice when I catch the ball. When I celebrate, I celebrate by drinking juice. Juice, that's his name. He drinks juice box after, you know, makes big plays and stuff. So I don't know. We're all confused and it sucks to be honest for him. Juice's new nickname is beer. No. So that's his new thing. Of course, Kiddell finds the right answer. I just think that's all beside the point though. Who cares if it is beer? No. No, no. How do you drink beer? Yes. Recktoly. I mean, wait. You tilt it back and pour it into your mouth. That's how you drink beer. What if they did put his ass up in the air? It's sort of funnel. Yeah, right. What do you, it's not a beer animal. I mean, that's how you drink beer. There's all these beer commercials. They show people drinking beer in the commercials. They show people high school football. Yeah, I mean, they're not 17.

Oh my god. I mean, it's just, come on, man. This is so, but it gives us some talk about. The Madden movie trailer, the full length one hit yesterday. Nicholas Cage in a fat suit looks like Nicholas Cage in a fat suit. You can't, the eyes. I think it's the eyes. You just, you can't lose out of the eyes. And I think most problematic Cage sounds nothing like John Madden. Look at this guy right here. He's got a steaming head. You see that? He coming off of his head. You could have a barbecue right there. You could have a barbecue. I don't think I'd want to eat anything cooked on a man's head. I hear a funny pat. Oh, she is. They've been slow walking this thing. Yeah, I didn't know why. Is it meant to be funny? I can't tell. But like Christian Bell looks like Al Davis and he's not distracting in the trailer.

That doesn't sound like John Madden. And you don't have to do a perfect imitation, like to say Frank Calliindo does. But I can't not hear Nicholas Cage in that. That's like Nicholas Cage in Conair. I mean, he doesn't look like him. You know him too well as somebody else. I, I'm not, every time that we get, we heard about this at first and then we heard Nicholas Cage is going to be playing John Madden. We're all like, yeah. Then we saw pictures. I did the again. Now, I mean, just each step that comes out about this makes me less and less interested in seeing it. Maybe, I mean, this is what's his name, David O'Rossel. He's done some really good movies. Maybe the director, maybe this is intended to be satirical and we don't realize it. I don't know. But it's not surprised to me anymore why they are not opening it in theaters and so. That's a good, that's a good topic for us next week.

Movies, favorite movies where based on a true story where the actor looks nothing like the real person. Yeah. And sometimes they pull it off and it doesn't matter. Yeah. Anthony Hopkins is Nick, but Nick's it. I mean, he didn't nail Nixon, but it he captured the spirit of it. I don't know that we're going to do that with this. Now hire low since our last show. Presented by wealth charter retirement planning and tax. Afed feds just raised the interest rate may do so again this year. That means a lot to the economy and potentially to your savings and portfolios. If you want to contact somebody like wealth charter retirement planning and tax to talk about what this means to you and how to make your money work as hard as it can. I am I'm in between low and high today. I'm happy that it's the weekend, but I'm not happy that it is weather like this.

I'm going to go high though because I did we did get enough sun yesterday. Yesterday wasn't as bad as it was supposed to be. A little bit of surprise sunshine yesterday. Yeah, I got out I got the lawnmode. I did a bunch of stuff outside and felt like I actually had a normal a pretty normal day off. Good. Good. I just don't know what's going on with the weather or I mean we were talking about this the other night. Have we ever felt like leaving Iowa because of the weather in September? No. We feel the same January. I normally love September. I love September. Yeah. Big wedding month. I got married in September. I mean you count on September. You count on September weekends. The forecast sucks all the way through next week too. I mean I got anyone to talk about it. Told you it. It's getting it's taking pills and stuff I think. Yeah. Geez.

Poor guy. I know he takes it personally. He does. He can't control it. Gosh. Well soon Ed. I'm going high. It's a follow up story. So did I talked about a couple of months ago when Fuzz Buzz Ebony came over and she'd taken this big swing of buying her own mobile pet grooming service and telling the story about when she was adopted and she just showed this inclination out on the farm to be able to calm animals and animals just took took to her in a way. You couldn't even really explain. And she came by to do the shampoo and the nail clippings and the grooming and all that. And it's going so well since that was all mentioned that she's thinking of adding another van and I just filled my heart. So that's great. Yeah. That's really cool. But you know how it is Andy. This happens with us when we're walking around with Jenny.

It's like dogs can sense that Jenny is a dog person like a dog lover. They're always, dogs she's never seen before. They'll start angling toward getting over toward her and that kind of thing. Animals can sense that kind of stuff. Some people want to. I kind of have that. Do you have that? I have that trait. I bet. Yeah. That wasn't it. It's crocodile Dundee. He was able to just do this to the. Was it to the bowl? To the bowl or something. Yeah, yeah, to the brombie or whatever you call it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, he hypnotized it. Go along. No, I'm not throwing a football with my favorite son Charles. I'm talking to my new Duke Cannon Puck of soap. It's triple mill to last longer than retain its shape down to the last nub. In fantasy football terms, you could say this long lasting soap takes no buy weeks or that it's bench proof or even that it's a surefire league championship winner. Duke Cannon Pucks of soap triple mill to last longer. Before this. There's this. As you celebrate the game, take a deeper look at its roots. The people grow in the grass. They've in the lots. Well, in the goalposts, inspecting every football. The hard working people to make every Sunday possible. Carhartt is proud to outfit the crews behind the game. Visit carhard.com slash join the trades to learn more. All right. So Andy has had a chance. We've talked about this for a couple days to watch the new 30 for 30 on ESPN. It's called 14 days in Gainesville. It's Steve Spurrier's first year as the head coach and the gators are getting ready to play Oklahoma State in the opener. And this is also about and more about, I guess, the five murdered college students in three

days. And the first two victims are August 24th. Now one of the reasons I'm talking about this is I was in news at the time in Gainesville at the station there. And I did quite a bit of coverage on these murders and these 14 days. And it's also the reason I'm in Iowa because I was looking for a job in sports in Florida. And I hated this part of news coverage so much that I just immediately said, I'll take the first offer. You're working in Gainesville at the time. Do you know the station in Gainesville? Is that where you were? Correct. Yes. And so I'm there with the understanding. I'm going to continue to look for a sports job. Well, I'm there. But my parents lived in that area and they were able to watch Gainesville station and for those of who followed us for a long time. My parents used to plan each and every day around our radio show.

They always listen. They always watch. And they had me send them every newscast I ever did on VHS tape. So the only reason I have these videos or when we moved about a year ago, I found this big tub and the tub was full of these old VHS tapes that my parents had stored and then left to me. And Andy brought his old VHS in because we don't even have a VHS player at 13 anymore. And I don't have one at home. So Andy brought his VHS player in and I was able to convert some of these videos to add some context to this story and my coverage of it. And you're going to notice, yes, this is 1990. I'm much younger. Have you given that back to me yet? I have not. It is still there. So sorry about that. I forgot. But yeah, it's still there. And some other people have used it too because converting VHS tapes, you better do it while

you can. These tapes are going to start snapping at any time. But with that explanation, August 24th, I'm working at his channel 20 and Christina Powell who is 17 years old and Sonja Larson is 18. And they are roommates and they're getting ready for their freshman year. They've just moved in at the University of Florida and their parents call and they can't get hold of them. So they stand over a welfare check and through the window, the person who checks can see blood everywhere. And of course, the police then come over, show up. And these young women had been raped, bound with duct tape, which was then removed. And they had deep stab wounds, a lot of stab wounds.

And then one of the details I remember about the time is they both had been displayed or I'm not sure what their hair was fanned out to like taunt the cops when they were there. And these were awful, like staged. Staged is a better word for it. Yes, they were staged. And they were roommates and it was just terrible. And here's a little snippet of some of the first reports. The killing sent a shock wave here through the University of Florida campus. You know, it really makes me fear for my life. I just think it's really frightening that something like this can happen in your backyard. Well, it was really shocking. We were sitting on the floor in the dorm and I immediately got up and locked the door and cronestined my mother even more. Many continue to go to classes even though they say the administration should postpone school for a few days. I think they should until at least next week see what happens. I mean, they should catch this guy.

At Florida's highest rated news team. Good evening. Nearly a week has passed since investigators began to realize the possibility of a serial killer in our area. Five college students have been found murdered in their apartments in the southwest section of town. Now since that time, fear and shock have swept through the community while police continue to try to find the killer. More than that. All right. So back up a little bit there. So the next day from the very next day from those first two killings, Christa Hoyt is found and this is the most disturbing murder because she was at Santa Fe Community College. The only of the five that are murdered, she was the only one not going to Florida. She's going to Santa Fe Community College and she was beheaded and the killer placed her head on a shelf so that when you walked in, it was the first thing you saw. So this is a sick, sick, awful person.

And these first two killings, Andy, they start to put together because once you find another victim, now you know, I mean, now you know it's a serial killer. There's no, you can't deny and the police didn't deny that, okay, it looks like we have a serial killer on our hands. And she also had been raped and her wrists were duct taped together and he'd removed the duct tape, which left a fewer clues behind. But in both these cases, the murders took place at apartments that were right next to the woods and that becomes an important plot point as this moves on. And then one of the, I remember the city at this point is gripped with fear after the third, I believe that's when I did a police ride along. Davidson drives through apartment complexes near Gatorwood and every time he pulls in, people approach the car. Okay, let me back my car up here and we'll take a look for it. We pull up as many people are packing up.

You're leaving? Yeah, we're getting out of some details. Helping people is only part of this patrol. Deputy Davis and his looking for suspicious activity. Well, I'm paying special attention to power calls. Calls involving vehicles parked in places where they normally wouldn't be. And Davidson thinks the killer will strike again. Just type of person from my own personal experience doesn't stop until he stopped. Even though officers and deputies wish it weren't under such tragic circumstances, they say it sure is nice to feel both needed and appreciated. Keith Murphy, TV 20 News. Well, that's hard to watch on a couple levels. But anyway, so Andy, here's something I know you'll find interesting. So earlier the day, earlier the day the third body is found, the third victim, there was a bank robbery in Gainesville and a gun was used in the bank robbery.

Police then find a campsite out in the woods. And the campsite has a screwdriver, duct tape, a ski mask, and a tape recorder, and the tape recorder has a cassette tape in it. But the police never listened to the tape. Now it turns out this was the killer's campsite. And the tape had these disturbing songs he had written and they would have known right away. But somehow because, I guess it's just as simple as because a gun was used in the robbery and these were knife attacks, they didn't listen to the tape. It's just a kind of a fascinating look back. Yeah, that is interesting. Is that where they're quoting there, when they're quoting Danny Rowling and some of his writings in the 30 for 30? Is that where that's from? His songs? Songs and he also wrote in diaries and he had that at one point we won't get into all

this. He had that bizarre love story that developed when he was in prison, which was a whole another thing. But now we move on to the next day, the third day, this is after the campsites discovered, but the next day, two more bodies in this time a man. So Manitabota, who's 23, Tracy Polis is 23, so they're a little bit older, but they're Florida students. And this is where fear reaches a level that I can't describe and never expect to see again in my life because Manitabota was a former football player and a really well built guy and he fought for his life and lost his life trying to help his roommate. They weren't a boyfriend girlfriend, they were just roommates. And I remember at that time, sleeping in my bed holding a baseball bat like many people did, it doesn't really even seem like it would make sense, but I do remember doing that.

And the University of Florida allowed frighten students to leave without penalty and they left. I mean, they left by the thousands. Gainesville just emptied out after the fourth and fifth bodies are found. Yeah, because at that point, it's not just someone praying on young women. It's a full on predator. It looks like he is in the scrimminate and who he kills and who he's targeting. And you don't know at this point, I mean, you don't know the circumstances that he killed the guy and never had not, that it's defensive or anything, you're right off the bat. But this happens no matter what it is. I mean, I've never covered a serial killer before. But in any kind of big crime story, there's always this rush to judgment for any little

thing that comes out that seems like it could be connected or it could be indicative of a perpetrator. Everybody just jumps on board, right? And so hard to keep everybody to hang on. Let the legal process play out. Let the investigation continue. The people want answers and they're nervous and they're mad and they want to blame somebody. They want closure. They want answers. Police are under tremendous pressure in a situation like this. And the top story in the nation. The university is under tremendous pressure. Right. You know, they talk with the university, the man that was the university president, Lamberti in this several times. And you know, it's just really clear that he is just being pulled in two polarized directions, shut down the school until this guy is found or this killer's found, they figure out what's going on. Or absolutely have to continue on with life because it's the only way that people can

cope and the only way that you can show that this guy doesn't beat the entire city of Gainesville. And you know, I mean, nobody, life goes on. You can't just put things on hold. So I mean, he's just like, what do I do here? You know, what can I do? And I think he did the right thing by just giving people the option because there is much like you sometimes hear, well, we can't let the terrorists win. In a case like this, many people feel like we can't show fear. We can't let this person stop us. I mean, the football team is continuing to practice in their isolation at this point, getting ready for the first game of the spurrier era. But they're of course well aware. But the one thing that changes here is like up until this point, women who just went over and slept with their, their boyfriends, at their boyfriends apartment or a male friend, they would go over there. People were sleeping in these big groups. Football players were all in the dorm at that time, which is in the stadium there at the

swamp. And they're not worried. But then now you got a man killed and now men are starting to be fearful. So hundreds of law enforcement officers there and a suspect does emerge and is arrested. And his name is Edward Humphrey and man does he come from central casting. He's got scars all over his face. He's a Florida student. He's thought to be and reported to be obsessed with one of the victims. He had recently beaten up his grandmother and had been arrested for that. And the murder stop when he is arrested. So everybody thinks we've got the guy and he lives at Gatorwood apartments, which were when the victims was. So everybody thinks they've got him and I was sent to his hometown of Indiana. Right now I assume a lot of people do think it is him. Everybody in the beautiful coastal town of Indiana seems to have an opinion about Edward

Humphrey and not just people have driven to this area from all over to here at Humphrey's family house and the black Cadillac he drove here from Gainesville. But many people who do live here are scared Humphrey could be free soon. I wouldn't feel safe living around here. There's too many weirdos around here anyways and to let somebody off, they've got a decent idea might be someone that would do something like that. I think it'd be a mistake. There's absolutely no evidence if a bond is reduced and he is released. It would link Mr. Humphrey to the incidents that took place in Gainesville and therefore I would expect not to be any public cry. Humphrey likes to hang out here on the boardwalk with his friends. They still come here nearly every day but say they don't know if Humphrey will ever be able to return because they think he's been forever scarred. Even if he didn't do it, they're still thinking that guy's crazy. I don't want nothing to do with them. When it comes to Humphrey's high profile treatment, even couples often disagree. I don't think he's been treated unfairly at all.

From what I've seen, I think he'd be the strongest suspect. What do you think? I think there's too much coverage on it and they need to look into all the other suspects. One thing everybody we talk to agrees on is that one way or another and would Humphrey's life will never be the same again. In Brevard County, Keith Murphy, TV 20 News. Only thing he didn't do it. He didn't do it. It turns out he was off his bipolar meds and coincidentally at the same time, the actual serial killer Danny Rowling was in jail for another robbery. That's why the murders stopped. And Humphrey, I do have kind of a, it's not a happy ending. I can't imagine what he went through. But he went back to college, graduated from college, went on to get his master's degree, and had a successful life as a businessman on medication and not wanting to ever talk about this again.

He's not on camera anywhere. He lived a quiet life in some ways. It reminds me a little bit of the Cubs fan who just declined. Bartman just went through this hell and a different kind of hell, of course, a more serious one. But he has had a successful life since this happened. So how this kind of wraps up, Andy is there is a murder that took place in Danny Rowling's hometown the year before and it's an unsolved murder, it was in Shreveport. And once they put the word out of the details of the murders in Gainesville, so there were three people murdered, a 55 year old man, his grandson who was eight years old, just brutally stabbed to death. And then the reason for the murders, the 24 year old woman, Julie Grissom, who was raped and what's the word you used to dislade staged staged.

She was staged after the murder in the same way and had the duct tape and the duct tape had been removed the same way in Gainesville, so they knew then. This was all because a woman in Shreveport, she saw the reports and she called the tip line and she said, I think it's Danny Rowling. You need to look into Danny Rowling and they already had him in jail. So they matched his blood type, type B and he was a secretor and it matched both crime scenes. They couldn't tie him directly to the 1989 murders in Shreveport, but then right before he's put to death in 2006, right before he's injected, he hands the priest or the pastor was the chaplain. He hands him a note confessing to those three murders too. Because he played guilty, right?

Like as soon as they got him in court in Gainesville, he did. He said it's time there's some things you can't run from. And I've been, and there's a whole backstory of how awful his childhood was and what a terrible father he had and all of that. These are just, these are murders that anybody around was haunted by. How long did your coverage of that event last? Well, do you personally? Maybe you were anchoring and reporting and traveling and yeah, maybe two weeks because I mean, here it's so September 4th classes resume. September 8th Florida beats Oklahoma State 50 to seven. September 22nd. I'm in Iowa for the Iowa, Iowa State football game in Iowa City. Wow. Wow, I didn't know that part. Yeah. That's how quickly you got out of there. That's how quickly. Next offer I get I'm going and thank you.

At the time, Diana Lam offered me the job and I pulled the U Hall up here thinking I'll stay a year or two and then I'll get back to Florida to a sports job and stayed. Love it. Well, I will say I enjoy, I think you did a good, your coverage of this event was good. I think your coverage of this event was better than the 30 for 30 that I watched twice yesterday. I think that's the worst 30 for 30 I've ever seen. Not just because of the sunshine. Yes. It's the first program I've watched on this. I've avoided it. I haven't read any books. I haven't watched any of these. I occasionally, I guess I pop up and some of the date lines. I think you're in at least one shot. I think I saw you at least one shot and I don't take this the wrong way. I'm not in any way disparaging interest in this. I would be just as interested and I am interested in it. I just thought the way they laid it out was odd.

It was way more about football and a football season which was kind of interesting to an outsider, maybe really interesting to a Florida fan, kind of interesting to an outsider. Just the pacing and the timeline of the whole thing didn't make any sense to me. It was going day by day and then it jumped ahead three months to the end of the season. Then it jumped back to the suspects and then it jumped ahead again to the football season and then it jumped back to Danny Rowling. I really thought that it did not do a good job of, I mean, you were like, wait a minute, I thought this was 14 days. There was not a, I thought it should have been contained to 14 days. Eventually you find out what happens later on but they jumped around so much and put way too much emphasis on the football season. I thought it seemed like they really ran out of material when it pertains to the crimes

and the investigation there, the serial killer. Seems like they ran out of that material far short of whatever the 90 minutes they were trying to make this, whatever. I was typically 30 for 30s are done by great filmmakers. I mean, really good filmmakers. I don't really know the person who did this. Maybe they're a really good filmmaker too. I don't know. I watched it in Kyle, I watched it and I was like, are you lost in this? You underwhelmed by this too? And she's like, yeah, absolutely. So we went back and we watched it again. So I just thought that I was like, why did they do that that way? I didn't get that. I didn't get that. The other thing that I think is kind of odd about it. I was going to mention, I think it's interesting. You'd say that since I know so much about it, I don't think I'm able to be objective as to what this is like in 30 for 30 and I finally wanted to watch one of these. I did, it took me a while to figure out what the 14 days even meant.

Then I put together, it's the murder to the first game. But I was originally thinking it would be about the murders themselves and school resuming or something. Well, like the first murder until he's caught. Yeah. That's what I thought it was. Yeah. But then as they're talking about the Florida football team and the culpeppers are in it and they've been in like two seasons of survivor, a Brad Culpepper who went and was a pretty good player in the NFL also with the bucket ears and stuff. And then his wife who's, she's in it also and she's, I think she was on survivor twice also. So, um, oh wow, didn't know that. Yeah, so they're kind of game to go on TV. But I just thought it was an interesting football season because it's Spurrier's first year and you see him as such a young man. He looked so young and college and that. And Spurrier's first year and he of course becomes what the greatest coach in the history

of that program. So it's kind of the beginning of that era and they're, you know, still paying for the, the past sins of the previous coach who's Danny Whalen, is that his name? What was the Gary Whalen? What was the previous coach? Uh, Gail and Hall. Gail and Hall. That wasn't even close. Gail and Hall. So they're complaining about still being punished and then the sports columnist comes out and just like they deserve to get punished. I mean, this is the second time this happened. You know, they deserve it. Just deal with it. Right. And then they're complaining about not being able to win the SEC championship because they had one more win than Tennessee. Well, Tennessee had a tie. So they finished five, you know, five one and one and Florida was six one and oh, but had to had Tennessee smoked Florida that year. They killed them and then she came for something. Yeah. And then the season by getting smoked by Florida state. So I was just kind of like, you don't really have this, this, this argument of, there

was kind of like this little side plot to this whole 30 for 30 was how screwed over this Florida team got. I don't think they really got screwed over at all. So I, I, I, I, I, I didn't have any memory of that. So I was very interested in learning about it. I just thought it was odd the way that they laid it out. But I thought your explanation and your storytelling with, with, especially with your reporting, wow, what a good news reporter you were. Oh gosh, I thank you for saying that. But you missed your, that's hard for me. It's hard for me to watch that. I don't feel like it's very nice. No, it's real, but not only is, are you good in it? Like the, the shots are framed up well. Your photographer really knew what he was doing there. It was just really good reporting. And then there you are sitting alone on the anchor desk. You can tell that those were long days where you're out reporting and then cramming it all together, probably on a typewriter and then coming back and, and, and, it was a typewriter. Yeah. So that was a really good time. I don't know. That's, that was, you know, people could disagree. I just, I watched that.

I was like, I, I don't like the way that this was laid out just, you know, structurally as a, as a program. Well we do know it's Friday and it's supposed to be a front, fun Friday and that was a heavy topic. So we'll take a little pause here. We'll lighten it up. We'll have some fun when we come back. Scott will join us. So you know it's about to take a nonsensical turn. You're watching Murf and Andy here on Iowa everywhere. You will be told to follow certain rules for success. You will follow your instincts instead. You will envy the person who can log off for the day and you will accept you are not that person. Let's start a thousand sentences with, this might sound crazy. But what if you will do that crazy thing a thousand times? Because you love what you do. And love will make you do crazy things. The Staujah THC fruit celltars and quirky flavors like orange dream sickle, caramel apple

I'm talking to my new Duke Cannon Puck of soap. It's triple mill to last longer than retain its shape down to the last nub. In fantasy football terms, you could say this long lasting soap takes no buy weeks. Or that it's bench proof. Or even that it's a surefire league championship winner. Duke Cannon Pucks of soap are built for guys who want a hard working long lasting soap. Catch one yourself at Duke Cannon.com or a target store near you. Duke Cannon Pucks of soap. Triple mill to last longer. Scott school, Scott school, Scott school, Scott school. Yeah. Hey, everybody. What's going on? Scott school. The term meteor, we think of as this big fiery ball from outer space. But originally, meteor came from the Greek term for thing up high.

And so we used to call everything that was up high a meteor. We had aerial meteors like wind and tornadoes. We had water meteors like rain, snow, hail. We had luminous meteors like rainbows and auroras. I almost said ariolas, which would be different. And then we had igneous meteors like lightning and shooting stars, fiery stuff up there. And that's why the study of weather is called meteorology. And that's Scott school. Scott school, Scott school, Scott school, Scott school. Yeah. I appreciate that on this Friday in particular. Yeah. Well done, Scott. Hopefully Van Meter gives Jerry Ann the great meteorologist she is. A warm, warm celebration today on a rainy day. Well, they will be a warm hug. Let's hope the rain holds off during the game. And Scott school is presented by Carbless premium handcrafted cocktails.

Happy birthday to your co-host, Kenzo. Yes, I'm her date. I'm her date, Mackenzie. She is, as Adi said, 29 looks great on her. And she is a wonderful co-host. And also Keith, we need to raise a carbless to, I'm glad Adi said a little bit of this. You are a fabulous news reporter and anchor. I'm watching that stuff. This is not blowing smoke at all. I like, I got goosebumps a couple times because I thought this guy is a genius at this. This isn't like legitimately incredible. It's incredible. You just had it do it. Yeah, you had it. I'm not a giggle. You knew what to say, how to say, even your interviews are really good. I mean, every, I think a producer in this situation should say no notes. Would you? Would you like to do some more news reporting? No. I know a place. No, thank you. Oh, yeah.

How about some play by play? Would you like to do that? I'm doing that tonight. Yeah, that's fun. Perfect. Yeah, that should be good. I'll enjoy that. And yeah, this is how, how naive I was. So I was working in sports where I went to college in Valdosta. And I was there for like about two years. And we had some success and we didn't know what we were doing. And it was, you know, the definition of learning on the job and I was a one man band. I was a one man sports department. And you could do whatever you wanted. So we did a high school football show and I started a show called Sports Rat with Keith Murphy, which was an interview show. And I loved it. I had so much fun. And I was roaming with a good friend of mine and everything is going along. And they call me into the office and they tell me, hey, we're transferring you up to making Georgia or and to be the news anchor and news director up there. And I was so young and naive.

I don't know. I mean, now it seems stupid to me. I thought it was like the army. I thought I had to go. Like I didn't even realize that I could say no because I absolutely would have said no. I didn't want to go. I'm going to say you would have said no. You're telling me you would have said no. Yes. I loved my job. I loved what I was doing. I was getting better. I was having fun. I was becoming a big. Why did you think you couldn't say no? Because they told me they're like, we've got exciting news for you. We're promoting you to news director and news anchor. So then I go up there to Macon and I get kind of a cold reception because you know, any anybody in the newsroom wanted the anchor position. So it's a little bit chilly. And then at the end of my first week, there's a across the Metro section of the Macon Telegraph. It says Murphy, just 23, named news director. Well, they had assumed I was just like a young looking 30 or something like that.

Now they hate. So on Fridays, like they're going out to Applebee's or something up on the newscast. And they're inviting each person in the newsroom except me because they're just so annoyed that I'm there. And I had told them I'd do it for two years. As soon as the two years were over, I applied for that job in Gainesville and said, I'm not going to stay in news. But could I work here until I find a sports position in Florida? And they said, yes. So I'm working there. My parents can watch me do the news. And then in the meantime, I'm trying to find a sports job in Florida. The murders happen. I said, I'm taking the next job off. I get anywhere in the United States. And it was I want to change. Well, we have benefited greatly from that urgency that you felt could have been anybody. Yeah. That ended up affecting all of our lives. All of it. Yeah.

None of us would be here. The butterfly effect. Oh, man. It's crazy. It's crazy. Did you see that 30 for 30, by the way? No, I had no idea. I wish you would watch it. I'd like your opinion on that. I'm hearing your opinion. I just want to know if I'm on an island about it. There's at least one other person here agrees with me. But I just, you know, you know, a lot more about this than I do. But I just, like, producing a segment-wise, just laying out a storyline like that. I just, I want to hear your opinion on it. Well, you had said, if I were to guess, they came into this 30 for 30 with a sports orientation. And unfortunately, the sports story is not the most interesting part. Yeah. Right. And so that right there would lead you down the wrong yellow brick road. Yeah. It just seemed to me like they could have done like every day. It was going to be like, just make it however many days it took to find this killer.

Because it didn't seem like it did it go until the spring. And did they finally find him, or when was that? Was it the following year that they just, that they saw this? I think it was, I tuned it out when I left. But I think it was a couple of months before they, they got him. Should have commented that to memory, but it was, yeah. Real clear. So I mean, I just, you know, drill down on, I don't know, just take a, take a 14 day period up to that first game and just really drill down on every little thing that happened that day without jumping ahead into the season. And they did so much on the, the history of the Gators. It was really, it, it seemed like too much. They couldn't, they couldn't pick. And it also seems ironic that that's the football part is the part I know nothing about because I was not involved in any of that coverage at all. Yeah. I mean, it's interesting for Florida historians and Garrett Gator fans, I'm sure it was a really

big season. Just for the rest of us, I was just watching that. I was like, I mean, there weren't any really big NFL stars on that team. There weren't any really noteworthy players. They talked with Shane Matthews, who's the quarterback a lot. And you know, he kind of came out of nowhere to be the quarterback of that team. But I don't know that one of that interesting was season. The conflict that you're talking about about them, the screw job evidently they're supposed to get, it's not obvious that it truly was a screw job. So if you try and make that case now, it's just, you know, you're, you have such a juicy subject matter, you know, not to undervalue the tragedy. But as a storyteller, you know when you have something juicy and keep, the way Keith just laid it out here on the Murphy Nandy show on I, Everywhere, please subscribe, everybody for your serial killer content is exactly, it is like a great way to do it. Here's what this becomes are launching. I'm telling you man, this is already going to be a feature and it's going to, I'm thinking of the thumbnail now. It's like when I covered a serial killer or something like that.

And it's, it's because you really didn't lay it out well. And you have this original footage that it sounds like they did. Thanks to Andy's to Andy's VHS. Thanks to Andy's VHS and my, and my, my parents proud hoarding of anything I ever did. Like that right there is what they would have won in his documentary. Yeah. You should have given that to him. They would have made their whole thing better. They needed more content clearly. But here's something, here's a part of it that everybody can relate to. Much of it is, you know, they're talking about the, the drive to win the SEC. It's totally different SEC then, right? It's, it's, it's a, it's a totally different conference. It has the core players, the Alabama's and Tennessee's and LSU's and Florida's. But they're all trying to win the SEC so they can play in the sugar bowl. And we, we all, you remember it as an Iowa fan, it was everything to play it to win the, big 10 so you could play in the Rose Bowl. Right. But that is so dated now. It's so old, right?

It's, it's for anybody under the age, how old do you have to be to even remember that frame of rep that, that, that, that, that mindset. Like 40, 40. I would say play off. Yeah. I'm 40, I'm 43, I'm most 44. I think for me and AD, we're probably the last of the kind. Yeah. Like for everybody else, you're just like, you know, you hear Steve's praise. He's like, oh, you know, we just, we got screwed. So we couldn't play in the sugar bowl. And, and you just listen to your like, who gives a shit about the sugar bowl? Right. He's so what? I mean, like, so what? You could, big deal, you couldn't play in the sugar bowl. What does that mean? Well, man, everything. And that was like, that was it. They could play in the sugar bowl and then go to the sugar bowl and maybe a win in the sugar bowl, maybe, depending on the voters, could qualify you for a national championship. When you're making one of those documentaries now, bad system. You actually have to take time out of your narrative to explain that context. You do. Yeah. Yeah. You know, we did the, Kinic documentary. We had to take time out of our narrative to explain to people how big of a deal it was

to play and beat the University of Minnesota. Because they were a national power back in the 30s. So you had, but now you're like, PJ Fleck wrote the boat. What the, who gives a shit? Yeah. And we're probably, we're probably, we're at the timetable now where you would have to explain to somebody that Nebraska used to be a, no doubt, formidable national power and not a national joke. Right. Because they, and I've already forgotten what's the game they, they, they'd be in the orange bowl because they were big. They'd be in the orange bowl. I saw them play in the orange bowl. I played the ACC champion in the orange bowl, right? I'm already forgetting this stuff. Yeah. They played the game I saw in Nebraska against Clemson. Yeah. If you're the big 10, you went to the Rose Bowl where you played a team from this conference that was called the Pac 10, right? Or was it the Pac 8? I think it's a long time. It was. Yeah. We're forgetting all this stuff.

I mean, it's like, God, they're tight. It's like they're talking about playing Mumbly Peg. You know, it's our Jax. You're talking about Oklahoma. You're like, Oklahoma from the SEC? No. Oklahoma from the big eight from the big 12th. No, the big eight. The big six where they originally, no, no, they were the Southwest Conference. Web. Yeah. Texas from, from the SEC. No, the big 12. No. The, the, the, the Southwestern Southwestern. Southwestern. Swacked. Yes. It's so good. All right, let's get to a stupid, quickie poll from the mind of Scots. In 10 years, how will AI have changed your life? It'll make it better. It will have made it worse. It'll be the same or we will all be dead. I shouldn't laugh at that. I think it, I think it's better. I think this is underrated. I think the, the loss of jobs is, is somewhat overstated. I think we're seeing AI help with advances in, in medical science that probably should

be appreciated more. And I think if you approach AI as, as a tool instead of just something that's going to solve everything, then it can be helpful. So I'm going to go with the optimistic look here and say better. I think it should be better slash lazier. Right. I think of all the work. This is never moved from our chairs. Yeah. Right. Right. I think it'll be better. It's, it's, it's a little scary and just how powerful it could be and what it might be able to do. But I feel like we'll still be in control of it. Wow. You guys are really optimistic. Uh-huh. Be so easy for this thing. What are you going to do with this? I'll be dead. Man, I don't want to. Uh-huh. Dead for me. I or dead for my whole age. Well like AI just has released all of the biological weapons because they're like, eh, we don't need these humans anymore. But I am going to say, I'm going to go with the same. And by that, I mean, you have the natural curve of progress that sort of goes up. I'm sorry.

I haven't, uh, that dopamine here that's wrestling with my sheep of dual guise. Stop. And, uh, but I think it'll be mostly the same. Mostly the same. Yeah. Mostly the same. 80 days. 80 days for dead. Yeah, we're on 80. 80. Confluence is the official beer of Murf and Andy and Confluence is where good things come together. Andy. Man, what is this? This, this is the stuff right here. This came out last week. I was telling about this earlier. This is basic batch. This is this pumpkin ale they have. It's the best pumpkin ale I've ever had. This is like fall in a glass. What? 10 years, Scott 11 AI wife. Uh. That's the best stuff right there. That is out right now. They're, they're releasing beers right and left. They've also got one, a collaboration with, uh, John's grocery in, um, in Iowa city right now, which people know that is dirty John's right?

Andrew. Yeah. Dirty John's. That, that, that place is a good place to, to buy beer. Um, it's, do you know why it's called dirty John's? It's dirty. Now, I think it's because the guy that used to own it sold porno mags. Oh, hard core barely legal porno behind the counter. I think it is. I got a friend who's like a dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, what a name. What a name. Okay. It was that bad that they gave them the anyway. Great guy. Uh, really newest beer. All kinds of stuff. There's also this going on this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this is Lua logger life. The collaboration with Lua bearing, which we'd like those guys to, but this is a German fest beer. Oh, I'm going to guess you're going to find that today and tomorrow over at the October Fest celebration. More on that. Some people show up at that because it's, uh, it's not ideal whether to have October

fest. It works so hard on those though. You just want to go. There will be, there are tents. There are, there are, you can, you can take cover. Yeah. Yeah. We'll, uh, we'll touch on that and some other things coming up here and more. Oh, let's get some more. But wait, there's more from either or eatery and patio. Right time to point out that either or has a nice roof. Yeah. It's sealed. Good and tight. Holds that rain out. They got a little, a little big windows. So you can see all the weather happening. Yeah. A little light hanging out over the sidewalk. You can get out of the rain quickly there. Plenty of room inside. Good for grabbing dinner before the homecoming game tonight in West Des Moines. Or even for like a, like, I don't know if the kids still got to a home like dinner before the homecoming dance, homecoming dances have changed. I don't even recognize them anymore, but, uh, that's, uh, that's tomorrow at Valley High School. It's a good place to go out to eat before that or for mom and dad to escape once they

ship the kids off to that dance. As you said, more of tough weekend for outdoor events and God, there's a long list of them too. Apple Fest at living history farms, uh, pumpkin fest. It's set a grove orchard in Cambridge, which gets more free television coverage. I think than any other entity in central Iowa, especially for being so far away from the Metro. It's pretty far way farther than you think. It's nice. It's a nice place. Um, Latino Heritage Festival going on downtown. A lot of streets blocked downtown. So be wary if you're going out to dinner for something else. Homecoming for Valley High School. It's my turn to wince is my daughter wears a dress shorter than anything that anybody in my age would have worn. She does wear shorts underneath the dress. Apparently a lot of girls do that. They wear shorts, which I don't know if that defeats the purpose of a short dress, but whatever, the worst thing that I can do is open my mouth right now.

I have to shut up, dad, because there's nothing. He's there. There's nothing. If you put your foot down and said you're wearing a dress that goes below the knees or you're not going to even approach the knees at this point. Andy and many other dads would be happy. But it's like I did. We talked about the. We have the hour a couple of weeks ago. We can't believe where the. You're the dad. You've got to establish whatever the standard is. You know that that's bullshit. Approach the thighs is what we're going for at this point. You just, and you got to like pick your battles too. There are certain things where you put your foot down. You're like, I absolutely will not negotiate. This is the way it is. But you can't do that with everything or you get tuned out. I'm figuring all this stuff out the hallway. Remember the rest of you? Got teens, older teens, kids in their 20s, you're all laughing at me at this point. And then of course, October Fest in Ankeny. Now we will point out, first of all, our friend Mindy Tonne is the best event organizer in

Iowa. And she has been planning for this. For a week, they got their their. They are as ready as you can be for a rainy day. They have extra tents. She says they've consolidated the layout a little bit to keep things, you know, closer. Back down on the amount of time that you have to be outside a tent. The stage is all covered up there. They will be ready for this. It's not going to be this. And I have my group loves to go to this. My neighborhood group loves to go to this. We were there last year. It was fun. Oh yeah, you guys were there. And Iowa, who were they playing Indiana? Was that was Indiana game? That was a good game. Indiana or Penn State. I don't know. We were all gathered around a TV. And it was Indiana. Yeah, it was a really good game. So yeah, I mean, you know, the crowd will hurt, but the beer will flow. Be the same. It'll flow. McDonald's plans to provide about $8.5 billion in total support to its franchisees.

Through the year 2036 to modernize its restaurants, expand technology and improve operations as the fast food giant looks for new ways to attract customers and grow sales. So does anybody think this looks better than the traditional old school McDonald's? When, why did they decide to make them look like banks? It's cheaper. Is cheaper? That's what it is. I'm sure the dining trends told them something like far fewer people are eating indoors, eating in the restaurant now. They're just doing takeout. I'm certain that that's got something to do with it. But I just feel like we could all put our heads together and be like, all right, McDonald's, we're going to tell you what you need to do. Just give a fail-safe plan to improve without them spending a dime on research. Make your restaurants more like they used to be, right? Cheaper, better food, more actual people inside.

You can go in there and like not see a person that works there until until your food comes out in a bag. And people are just kind of sitting around waiting. It's just not a fun experience anymore, right? I'm a McDonald's fan, I always have been. I don't get it. A quitting insulting our intelligence too with the shrink flation. God, that drives you nuts, doesn't it? I mean, inflation is bad right now, no doubt. But you know when it was worse, the early 80s, the early 70s, they didn't jack up their prices and shrink the size of their sandwiches at the same time at that time. They just made less money. We wouldn't stand for it back then. Now people just take it. God bless the onion. I love this headline. This here is probably our best-selling love seat. This man who would have been powerful, revered warrior, 4,000 years ago.

This day in 1984, Rusty Stobb goes deep for the Mets. And in doing so, he becomes the first player since Ty Cobb to Homer in his 40s, in his 30s, in his 20s, and as a teenager. Oh wow. It's good stat. Remember the back of Rusty Stobb's baseball card? I was always fascinated by that. They'd use like a whole different type size to fit it all in. Look at that, that career. You'd like to pull out a magnifying glass to read all of his stats there. This day in 1965, Sacha Page pitches three scoreless innings for the Kansas City athletics against Carl Yostremsky and the Red Sox. Sacha Page on this day is 59 years old. Oh, geez. Gives you a pretty good idea. He might have been effective if he had been allowed to pitch in the majors sooner. Yeah, absolutely. There were like 9,000 people that paid to see that and shortly thereafter the royals

removed to Oakland. But can you imagine if you could go back in time? That would be something that seeing Sacha Page pitch. You could sit anywhere you wanted in that stadium. You imagine how fast that stadium would sell out if you knew now. You knew then what you know now. Real quick, a round of scott, I'm glad you're here for this. Tell us, is this AI or not? Here's sliced it all, it's still on. Here it goes on the grandkids. It's the landing. Geez, I believe this is real. Your mama believe this is real. He did stick the landing. That's great. Back to baseball, Chicago White Sox shortstop, Colson Montgomery tied the major league baseball single season strikeout record yesterday, whiffed for the 223rd time this season. He has got three more games to break the record and chances are good. He'll do it.

He struck out three times on Tuesday and three times on Wednesday. He is batting 200, but he's got 31 home runs. And that's what they care about the most. Something tells me he's swinging for home runs. Geez. Just feels like that might be the case. Struck out three times. He struck out in his first at bat yesterday to tie the record. He struck out in seven consecutive play to appearances and he's still in that lineup. Meantime the race who are really good, they have someone Chandler Simpson. He has a chance to go the entire season without a home run. And he has... I can't believe he stayed in the lineup. He's batting like 320. And he gets on... He's the fastest from home to first in the major leagues, but he has zero home runs and hasn't hit one since the grapefruit league a couple of years ago.

That's so out of step with today's game in a good way. Sounds like Ozzy Smith with Cardinals in the 80s. All right. We'll end with this. There's a bit of a payoff here, but more than anything, apologize, it's a little long. More than anything, this video does make me wonder if there are, in fact, too many people attempting to become social media influencers. Welcome to afternoon, lunchtime, strip club review of lunchtime food. Today we're at Club 205. Buddy John is in Canada, so I found a random Australian to be in this with me. Had the club sandwich. It was very good. The vegetables were good. It was cut into four pieces. I don't like to cut up my sandwiches either. French fries was like shoe string fries. They're a little salty. Complementary ranch though, was pretty good. What do you have, mate? The red one. I had the Deluxe Cheeseburger. Very good cheeseburger, I would have to say.

A good ratio of bread to meat to lettuce to tomato. Deluxe, so was huge. I just pretty much ate the whole thing, but I was full. I had the fries as well. My fries were not too salty. I think you might have got a bad batch of the fries. But... You were salty. Mine were fine. Everyone seemed welcoming. They had the World Cup soccer game on the TV. Everyone's kind of engaged with that. Video poker. A lot of video poker. Where are the dancers? They're the entertainers here. Right. They were nice. So, Jez, what's your rating? I give the club sandwich, a club 205. I give it four and a quarter, 10 out of five. Really good sandwich. The little salt on the fries was too much, but other than that, everything was really good. Yeah, I'm going to give... Out of my Deluxe Cheeseburger, four 10 out of five.

Yeah, I said 3.5 before, but I'm going to bump it up before. I bumped it up. I bumped it up. Yeah, yeah. It was... I got the comeback for it. It was a really good burger. And it felt healthy as well. I felt good off to it. Cheese. That's your more, everybody. How are they doing? Those guys have a hit on their hands. They've got more than one out there. Yeah, they're still doing it. Oh, all right. Let's find out what's bugging you. Hey, guys, it's Jez from Makein' Me. I am really annoyed about how difficult it is to switch your phones and your phone plans. It should be this awesome thing where, hey, I'm getting this brand new phone that has amazing new camera and features and all this kind of stuff. But you know what? It sucks. You have to change all these apps and re-sign in. And you think you're all signed in. But then all of a sudden, hey, it's a critical app that you need right now to be able to sign into work and you need multifactor authentication. Oh my gosh, it just sucks.

And maybe it's because I'm getting older. I don't know. Eventually, I'm going to love this brand new phone. But right now, going through it is the worst. Gentlemen, this is John up in the 501. Just want to have a kind word out there to all my fellow drivers. You know, when you're turning, making a right hand turn into a two-lane road or highway. Just a small suggestion. Stay in the lane that's closest to you. Don't just let that car drift across. This isn't an ask car race where you got to put a frickin' slide job on me when you make your turn. Turn in your own lane. Stay there. Stop driving like assholes. Have a good day. All right. Thank you for those. Thank you, A.D. That is what's bugging you. And then you can leave a message anytime at SpeakPipe.com. I wouldn't have asked for a guy. That was a guy. Sorry. A guy that I had a little run in with last week. I was turning on 63rd right by either or. Nicely done. And I did go out, come out a little wide. It's pretty tight there. And then he laid on his horn. And then I waved sarcastically back like, you have sorry, man.

And then we got up to 235 where the lights are. Dude gets out of his car. Walks over. He's ready to fight. An older gentleman probably in his 70s had an old Iowa state. And I was like, and his wife gets out of the car because she's clearly embarrassed by him. And I was like, I'm just not going to do anything. I assess the situation. He didn't have a weapon. And the car is locked. And he goes to open my car door. But it was locked. And then he goes, he goes, you're dipshit. And then Ronald Reagan popped in my head. And because he would always pretend to be deaf when he didn't want to answer something. So I just go, what? And then the light turns green. And then the light turns green. But that guy could have been it. That could have been that guy because he really mad at me. And I told, I made a mistake. I did. That is always a feeling you have when, when, yeah. The kind of the universal. I'm sorry. Sorry. Well, I did because he wouldn't stop laying on the horn.

He just kept laying on the horn. And so then I did get a little. You can go on and tell. And no, no, no. I waived overly politely. Like I just kept going. Hey, hi. He probably thought she, and then his wife thought she reckoned like new me, like because I was being so friendly. She thought maybe we knew each other. But we did it. How old was he? 70s. Well, he's got you. He's got you. He's got you. Bruined his day. I know. But I could have like, I was like, do I, I could just easily open this door and knock his ass onto the curb. But I thought, I don't need to hurt somebody. I don't need to accidentally kill somebody here over this. Go along. No, I'm not throwing a football with my favorite son, Charles. I'm talking to my new Duke Cannon, Puck of Soap. It's triple mill to last longer than retain its shape down to the last nub. In fantasy football terms, you could say this long-lasting soap takes no buy weeks, or that it's bench-proof, or even that it's a surefire league championship winner. Duke Cannon, Puck of Soap are built for guys who want a hard-working, long-lasting soap.

Catch one yourself at Duke Cannon.com or a target store near you. Duke Cannon, Puck of Soap, triple mill to last longer. We have a live newscast at four that were live in from Waakie, so let's get to throw downs. It's throwdowns backed by Hartlin Tyronado. Hartlin Tyronado and authorized the other of both Firestone and Bridgestone Tyres. Murf, one of the few issues I would stay has shown this season is that lack of accuracy in the passing game. And that's leaving some fans to call for giving Conor Moverly a shot. How quick of a trigger should I mistake have on Jalen Rainer tomorrow against Utah? I think you do whatever you have to do to win. I don't know enough about how Conor Moverly looks to know if they think it's that close where putting him in could make a difference. But if you're in this game and accurate passing is keeping you from having a chance to win it, and you feel like Rainer is inaccurate and you feel like Moverly can be more accurate, you make that switch.

I mean, we're not far enough along and he's not into that job enough where you have to be hardened about making any switch, or that you have to stick with Rainer because he's your NIL transfer. You're trying to win a game and they have a defense and special teams that can keep them in the game. But they're going to have to pass the football effectively, even in wet weather. And if Rainer can't do that, go to the next guy. Yeah, I can't add a lot to that. I totally agree. I don't know what Moverly is looking like in practice. I mean, if he's looking like he's ready to play, then yeah, I would have a quick twinker finger. The moment you can tell that Rainer is the reason that you're not being competitive in this game, I think you pull him. Or if you adjust or like, well, we really stalled out, we're going to be out of this game. We need to spark. And sometimes it doesn't matter what the change is. It just change for change shake. It can actually make a difference. Maybe you go with that coach getting a technical foul and basketball approach where you just try something different. But for the most part tomorrow, it's going to be about how do you control the ball on the ground?

Because that ball is going to be hitting the ground a lot. Andy, it's that time of year we're making chili tomorrow. How do you take your chili? What do you put on it? I always put some, I like some cider vinegar in it or definitely Frank's red hot, but I even put some more cider vinegar in it. Trying to eat healthy, so trying to stick away, stay away from the sour cream and cheese and fritos. But if I'm not eating healthy, I like all of that. At the base level, I want as much meat as possible. I mean, some beans are fine, but if there's meat in there, and I just drown it in hot sauce, preferably Frank's. I want to add a little bit on the spicy side. And if there are, if there are fritos there, I'm putting some of those on the top. The rest are really, and there's sprinkle cheese too if that's available. That's like you just kind of want nachos. That'd be fine too.

I've never met a chili I don't like, but if you can give me chili, cheese, fritos to crumple up and put that extra crunch in there. And then also like Murp, take that shredded cheese and spread that on top. And maybe instead of a spoon, I get a salt-team cracker out and I use that to scoop it all into my mouth. Now we're talking. Scott Las Nitas at my daughter Socker practice in the rain. I was the only person there with an umbrella. Everybody else was just huffing it out. Is it embarrassing to use an umbrella? Yes. Did you have a design on the umbrella? No, it was just a black, it was kind of like a clay middle tin here. No, I think that's fine. If you got out there and you got some NASCAR looking symbols on your umbrella, then you probably look a little silly. But you know what? I listen to Rick Rubin. I think you should just be who you are. And if you're an umbrella guy, do you stick with it?

Heck no, don't be embarrassed. I mean, I'm assuming you're not in some kind of configuration where your umbrella was blocking the view of people trying to watch their kids. No, no. You're just standing on the sideline. Yeah. Oh, stay dry man, you do you. No, if you're wearing a business suit, you got work to do. Yeah, break out the umbrella. Use the umbrella. If you're watching the game or you're a grown man out in the, get a raincoat. Yeah, even all the little seven-year-old girls were running around on the field. I was the only person in the world. You look like a fancy boy. I did. No. You look smart. I was dry and warm. It was warm. Yeah. Yeah. That's true. All right. Time for the Ender Downs audio drop of the day we call it the AD Squared. Yeah, powered by Game Day Men's Health. Thank any West Des Moines. If you don't want to be embarrassed around your co- what?

I guess players, families. Go to Game Day Men's Health. They can help you out. You don't need an umbrella if you go to Game. Well, I guess I do. I go to Anky Me, Andy goes to West Des Moines North Liberty. I got into that and didn't know how to get out. It is Friday. So some parental advisory is necessary here. None of these bleeps are necessary. It's all innocent conversation. But I place bleeps to make you hear things that aren't actually being said. Well, here's on you, not us. It's this week in Iowa, unnecessary censorship. It's like his first and only touchdown ever. And he just, you don't know whether he's going to like f*** the ball or chuck it into the stands or give it to a kid. I mean, he just, he is so happy. I was going to play North Dakota, not North Dakota State, not Andy's old nemesis. North Dakota, the f***ing hawks. They've not stopped f***ing. They're still going, but they're feeling really good and certainly got a really good response. The Arizona game last night. I need to go off on this. Chris and I were f***ing mean when this was happening. Tapping today at Confluence, big f***ing pumpkin ale.

That in Kenny Sands is a 19 and a half inch f***ing. That is a big f***ing. And this is as big as you ever see Ken Smile right here. That's a big smile for Ken Pink. Nice. Well, that should get back to him at some point. I don't know if he's back, but he'll hear about that for sure. Quickie poll results from WCI pulled and spas. Two quickie polls today. One of them stupid. Yeah, is it okay for fans to boo their own NFL team when it plays poorly? 88% say yes. 12% say no. Stupid quickie poll also brought to you by WCI pulls and spas in 10 years. How will AI have changed your life? For the better, for the worse, it'll be the same or will be dead. 31% say it'll change it for the worse. 27% say it'll change for the better. 22% say we're going to be dead and 20% say it will all be the same.

We're pretty split. 50% of people think we're worse or dead. That's not good. Let's check the weekend's red. We're presented by Jim The Licker King. Woo! All right, Andy, what do you have going? All right, so tonight obviously we're doing the DCG walkie game. So I'll be standing outside. Tomorrow, I'm going to really lean on some indoor activities early on. But then I'm going to watch the games, obviously, but I'm going to, I'm going to go to October Fest. I have friends in the neighborhood who really want to go. And I do still like to go. I'll be okay. We're going to go up there, get under the tents, go to the October Fest. Anthony, obviously tickets are still available to that. I'm excited. Don't think it's going to sell out both football games tomorrow. Too bad they're at the same time.

But looking forward to that and then bills, chargers, real nervous about that one on Sunday. So we'll get through this weekend of nervy sports activities. The chargers aren't good. You're just feeling, you sense their desperation to lead to a surprising win. I get that. I understand why you think that. I have football Friday tonight looking forward to that in prime time. First we've got live shots. I don't know four, five and six if those will still be in the rain, but I'm bringing Andrews umbrella just in case. Tomorrow when Iowa is playing Michigan and Iowa state is hosting Utah, I'll be at a wedding. Yay. And where's the wedding? Wakanda. Oh, well, that's interesting. I think they moved it inside. It was intended to be an outdoor wedding. No, you reminded me. You had a September wedding. I get it. And this is just bad timing.

Well, I was guy. We ticket holders. I'm sure they were hoping this was like an 11 a.m. game or something. It's just smack dab in the middle. I think we did look at the schedule. And somebody, at least one team was on a buy that weekend. Do you remember us watching some football that day? This was chosen because Iowa was a way for the Hawkeye fans involved. But yeah, this is a tough one. A new with Michigan, right? Yeah, they knew. And then at some point this week, I am going to the new Brad Pitt movie Heart of the Beast, which is getting great reviews, has good buzz, Jenny wants to see it. And Andy, you'll be interested to know that it is like, it's Brad Pitt's homage to Jeremiah Johnson, supposed to be a very similar kind of movie, man out in the wilderness. Is it a period piece?

It is not. He is an Afghanistan and a racquet or vet and his combat dog. And there's only one other person in the movie with exception of flashbacks. And that's JK Simmons. And he gets Brad Pitt is dropped into the most, the emptiest, what would the word be for? Remote, most remote. Most remote part of Alaska, because he doesn't want to be around any people. And JK Simmons is the one person he runs into in that remote area. But that, I'm going to that. I'm going to that. That does sound like it's going to be, I don't like any movies with dog sadness. And you know, I don't think, what this story is, but I bet the dog dies. That's why I'm going to guess it happens. Well, I know what happens is, don't ruin it. Oh yeah, Jesus, keep your mouth shut from here. All right, now just shut my trap. I do that, does sound like someone I want to see. So shut up.

Shut your face. All right, thank you. It's a long show today. Thanks for making Mervin Andy party your Friday. That was a show that was all over the place. That's a perfect Friday show of Mervin Andy. My goodness, that was all over the place. We are back Monday. We hope you have a great weekend. And then we hope you'll come back and join us on Monday. 80 Quick Plug for instant Iowa, instant Iowa State tomorrow. Who's going first? I will be going at the same time probably. Yeah, as soon as those games end, we'll go Hassel and I will be there. As soon as it won't be a half time show this this week. I don't think it should. Hopefully it will be a full. If it is, things went really well. Yes, right.
