Molly Gordon's Peaked: A24's New Comedy Film

0:00It's March 18th, here's your entertainment news in two minutes. Molly Gordon is stepping behind the camera again for her new comedy film called Peaked. This marks her second time directing and producing after last year's theater camp, and it has backing from A24. The story follows two high school mean girls trying to recapture their past fame at their 10-year reunion. Gordon co-wrote the script with her best friend, Ali Levitan, and both will star in the movie. Earlier this year, excitement built around the cast as big names started signing on. Stars like Emma Mackie from Sex Education and Barbie, Simone Ashley from Bridgerton, and Laura Dern joined the lineup. Other talents include, Mitra Jahari, Levin Hawk, and reality star Gabby Windy from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Fans and industry watchers have buzzed about the mix of A-Listers and Fresh Faces. Gordon shared in a recent interview that she's thrilled to make something funny and heartfelt during tough times. Her first project theater camp was a hit, so expectations are high for this one too.

1:03By mid-March, even more actors were announced, patting out the ensemble. Amy Sederis, Owen Thiel, Jaya Harper, Saturday Night Lives, Emile Wilkeme, and model Alex Consani are all on board. Connor's story, from Heated Rivalry, is in talks to join as well. Right now, the team is in early prep, with filming set to start later this year. Even I out for updates as production ramps up.
