Oh Feedback Friday here live on the purple daily YouTube channel where we turn the show over to you guys To answer your questions your comments your critiques and there are a couple of those that made the batch here again This big no I can't believe that kind of spicy last feedback Friday people were People were not happy with I feel like this is the most angsty I feel like the fanbase has been Despite the record in the first month of the season the gap between like angstiness and record has been Misaligned so far Yeah, that's or maybe not misaligned like you know If you think they're fraudulent or whatever just that's not a joyful for now Exactly, it's just the people are mad at the team and they take it out on us, which is fine

It's why we're here We're here as your sports therapist your Vikings therapist the sports dad Judd Zulgad executive producer Daclan Gough who found an alternate line successfully for Thursday night football last night sweat and a half shot out Don't you know when all the money when all the when you see a large side of the public going one way on a spread Not a good idea also double digit spreads like nine and a half It's a lot Yeah, I mean you never know a guy might fall down at the two instead of scoring the touchdown Oh, I think Dex Dex has taken his his new hobby too far. He's from now. He's back now Before before he never know and I'm feel mackey by the way We're gonna get into feedback Friday here. We're gonna get into a snake draft of the weekend Whatever else comes our way, but let's start a quick trip here Judd start the spread of the right way I think that's a great idea and guess what it's Friday so tonight You're thinking of dinner for the family and what are you gonna do? Can I can I make an offer on Sequan Barkley? We all kind of said He's 29 he's got a hamstring now

So Robbie becomes in with a reality check for us and he says Sequan Barkley is the full Rams move Actual champion organizations make Worrying about missing out on a third-round pick is cowardice It's the cowardice that plagues Minnesota sports. Wow. I'm pretty sure The one in one before I die is referring to a Super Bowl, right? Super Bowl defense and special teams and here we are worried about the future cost of Getting the offense over the hump for a third-round pick cowardly hedge if we win a championship who cares about future drafts if you truly believe that they can win it all with a few offensive Upgrades, I'm okay trading a whole year's worth of picks away Your proximity to Thor in his draft bias has killed your perspective Barkley is a rental And because you I think you could get off that contract based on the lack of guarantees beyond

2027 but anyways, he's the email finishes with last I checked the full Rams didn't tank the Rams go Effing get it F those picks Okay, well first of all my say quen Barkley problem was his age his amount of work like if you can assure me he is If you told me hey, you're gonna get say quen Barkley and he is in his prime Mm-hmm. There's no hamstring problem. Yeah, then I'm doing it in a heartbeat But I have an issue I I guess my issue more is I have I don't have a problem with going full Rams I have a problem with going full Rams and going to a potential garage sale to do it Like if I'm good like if I'm gonna get a if I'm gonna get a Ferrari I want to get a new Ferrari not one that's in some guys front lawn So I'm way more fixated on where say quen Barkley is at full Rams is fine I would by the way so that thing a painted a broad broad brush over all of sports in this town

Bill Garrett and Tim Conley are making moves. They're all in moves So I think we need to stop saying and I know what you're saying and there have been times where I agree the teams have been way too reluctant and We can certainly have that debate at times on the Vikings But I'm just gonna defend Tim Conley and Bill Garan You know Quinn Hughes is exactly what you're talking about it takes big brass ones to go make that trade Tim Conley is continuing. I mean, it's like a yearly thing. So Let's not include everyone in this mix. I get your points But my problem with Barkley is far more it's more about say quen than it is being reluctant to do a move because I'm afraid of the move itself I agree and I'll even give you this this is no longer a possibility because he's out for the season but the the full Rams equivalent to me like if you're talking about paying a high price for a player You know has a ton of gas in the tank and is maybe even here for multiple years Devon H& to me would have been the full Rams

equivalent of for a running back trade and there might be some other ones out there You know, I mean like Tony Pollard is not a full Rams Trade but he's available and and there's some speculation So to me it's like you've got you've got Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason and Mason's gonna come back And so you have like you've got two professional good running backs I think Mason's gonna be a nice boost to this offense if we're talking about a full Rams running back trade It has to be an obvious obvious upgrade Explosiveness ability to break a 60-yard touchdown run You're not getting 2024 sake on here even if the Eagles were willing to live in salary cap hell and eat all the dead cap You know 2026 going forward He's kind of falling off a cliff since 2024 when he had like 450 touches including playoffs. He's 29 He had a next-dinger in week two that took him out of that game came back played a game and a half Pops a hamstring now he's on now he's on the the sidelines with a hamstring injury

So like if you're trading for 27-year-old 2024 Say quam Barkley oh Yeah, like that a hundred percent interested if you're trading for pre knee injury Devon H& 100% so I think it's not just if I could speak on behalf of the whole show here I don't think it's a cowardice to not we don't want to go give up a third round pick full Rams It's about identifying the right player so you're not just lighting picks on fire Failing in the now and now you're devoid of assets going forward beyond 2020 I don't want I don't want big names who are well-passed upon Like it sounds great. Oh my god say quam Barkley's a Viking OBJ yeah exactly watch him pop off for like seven catches Well, I get the point I get the point completely and if that's what if we were reluctant to make a trade because we're afraid to just Get give up draft picks, but this is for the to me. This is far more of a layer discussion than just a simple. I'm afraid to make a trade

Andy rep repy Andy are chimes into the show Phil I hope you address this on feedback Friday, but I feel like you have completely fallen off your rocker with your takes this week about the team I love your rocker. I love this show and I've been watching for years, but unless I missed it Have you Once addressed the teams that we've beat this season to get to for no You and I both know that two of the teams have yet to win a game Andy sent this before the bucks won a game last night, so he did beat the buzzer on that Winning ugly versus a competitive team is one thing, but winning ugly versus two winless teams is another You're taken Jordan Mason being better than say quam Barkley for a third-rounder who is no guarantee to be anything in this league Please help me understand where you're coming from with your takes this week It's been a painful listen this week love the show, but please come back to earth Phil love the show hate your takes

Love the show, but I can't stand you and well first off I feel like if you've been listening to the episode this week Even positive Phil is acknowledging like no one no one's crowning the Vikings Super Bowl champions with the current state of the offense. I feel like we've we've properly Poked at their flaws all week on all the shows my entire point has been that this Vikings defense is Single handedly gonna win you almost every game on your schedule This level that we've seen the last nine games this defense is giving up 10 and a half points per game and so they are setting an astronomically high floor for this football team and And even if your offense never fully clicks you're gonna win 11 12 games off the back of this defense unless the defense takes a nose dive and And then we can sit in debate how much can you finesse and massage the offense here? So listen if you if you want to like if you want to if you want to fight my core take which is this defense is gonna win you almost every game

You can try but they're 9 and oh with bad offense in the last nine games and so like the the proof on the field is proving That opinion correct at this point Dex that you're gonna say so oh no I was looking through the comments, but but yes, I would say No, sorry, I was looking through the comments. I would say that yes, the defense is obviously carrying them and I feel like the Vikings are in typically and This is usually the case. It's very rare Vikings fans find themselves in what's called secure relationships, which is the relationships in your life whether it's Whether it's it's marital friendship work and with sports teams It's very rare to have secure relationships, especially with Vikings fans feels like we're in very the anxious stage We're in the anxious stage of this stage of attachment with this Vikings team because the offense isn't clicking and We we don't know if Kyle is the necessarily the guy either which I think is but I think that that take from the fans is completely fair Because I think what they're seeing is this defense. It's like oh my god. It's so great. Man Phil you are you

My relationship with PD is secure. That's good. That's it. Nobody will nobody wants to hear anything about how great the defenses We just want to bitch about the offense, but we're all but we're all agree with the fans is I think they also are seeing what you're talking about which is this This defense is awesome. Can the offense just start to do its job more because if we get that You're looking at it. I mean that can make a run then you can make a run if you can put those two things together Ks and 957 We need to see Phil's chat GPT history. I need to see this this week It would have been how to remove a An installed hanger from a closet without destroying the whole wall. That's a whole story and install that Like like the ones that have like the like the rack the anchor, you know screws and all that. Why were you wife did that too? Why were you taking out? We just because it's more space. It's ugly. We want more space. Yeah, my wife did that in the in the last apartment

We lived in a north loop to she took them down and then she tried to tell me how to put it back up and I said no No, no you can do that. I'm down. We'll just you're gonna put it back in a hundred bucks or whatever But but I need to see how he comes up with this stuff is the last part of this comes up with what stuff I Like I am sitting here this week telling you two things The the offense definitely needs to be better if they want to win a Super Bowl and they're working on that and we can see how that plays out They have a runway here to see how that plays out and also the defense is going to win you almost every game And you are debating that in the midst of a nine game winning streak that is proving that opinion correct And I'm the psychopath. Well who needs to come back to plan it or I think what people are saying though is is like if you have dreams of a playoff The defense your offense needs to do its job like like literally the fans are saying do your job and the offense is like I'm not sure about that now. We'll see but I get the reluctance. I totally get that. I'm with the fans that we need to

Yeah, here's my thing you know what processing a closet without a clothing rod Well, there are other clothing rods. There was just like an extra one that didn't need to be yeah Yeah, yeah, you know what I do in kick cases like that I close the closet door and go watch TV You don't worry about it. I just close up if don't want to you know what if don't want to do something with the closet God bless her. It's fine Personally, I just think you know what I'm gonna close the door take a deep breath. I got enough troubles I got troubles around the house. I got the closet in the bedroom because it's so small and then we have a long walk We have a lofted upstairs and the whole walk the whole walkway from steps to bedroom Which is super long is just all of Kelsey's clothes and shoes. Yeah, dogs like that. Yeah, yeah, I get the shoes are all over the house Yeah, is there you just trip in? Yeah, it's amazing It's amazing if I leave clothes around the house. I get a talking to But I walk into a room and there's like three pairs of shoes and by the way nobody needs that many shoes. It's incredible

I have right now I have two pairs of tennis shoes One pair of dress shoes and one pair of like casual dress shoes. Oh You have like a casual dress. Yeah, well, I mean like casual like like I don't know what you call them But anyway, but and I just got the two pair of tennis shoes in the last year or so because This is the most shoes you've had at one point. Yeah, it's because I've never had two pairs of tennis shoes that I recall Before I've got a white pair that I wear out like if I'm going out with Dawn and then I got a blue pair that she hates But I love and I wear those everywhere else What is she hate about them they they she doesn't think they look good with the clothes. I don't know I don't know. There's all these rules about clothes. I don't understand I don't begin to understand and believe me I long ago just accepted it So I'm not even bitching about it But there's all these rules about clothes and what you can wear you can't wear stripes with this You can't wear blue you had very strong takes on these before. Yeah, okay, you're clothing takes why are we talking about clothing?

That's a good question. I don't know exactly. I'm sorry, but I did participate in this Brooks with Chris we don't talk about how enough how handsome these lad's are By the way, if you want to see these handsome lads in person here. We're doing our next watch party on Sunday New Orleans Minnesota We're gonna be at running aces just up 35 on the North edge of the Twin Cities If you want to tell us to our faces how much we need to come back to earth or me specifically But Jud don't get too comfortable because there's a batch coming at you here in a second too. Oh Come hang out with us the sports lounge opens for vent line at 11 a.m There's a full menu. There's a bar. There's a 53 foot LED wall for for the game games possibly plural So we'll do a watch party and then a live Vikings vent line open to the public come hang out and In cheers on behalf of the purple here. Okay back to the feedback

Jared Hemma says dumb football question for you guys Why is it that NFL teams are less likely to go trade their star players around the deadline compared to other sports? Teams like the chargers and Texans come to mind because they're cooked Maybe the cowboys although the cowboys are still like a heavy favor to win that division Despite being two and three Maybe more says more about the division than the cowboys true But a lot of talent on these teams that you likely won't and you likely won't see a lot of guys traded at the deadline It just curious about your thoughts as to why that doesn't happen more in the NFL. Well It happens more now There there was a time when the deadline was like early November late October and it absolutely sucked like nothing nothing Happened for years and then it's begun to change in like the last I don't know five to ten years Part of the reason why we don't get more huge trades though I think is the cap and the contracts and you know if Justin Herbert gets traded the team that trades him

The chargers in this case eats a ton of salary the team that takes him takes on a bunch So it's financially more difficult just from a logistics dance standpoint now if you make that trade in March You can screw around because you're not in season with your cap. It's still difficult, but it can get done Yeah, I think that's why but I also will say if you have if you started to follow football in the past you know 10 years or so back in Back in the odds you guys remember the trade deadline was awful. Oh terrible. No, it's nothing So so this is this is the salad days compared to that Can you smell that? Fallen football are in the air. What's up score Northers Ross Brendel here for my bookie the place to go to enhance your football viewing experience All fall long that's exactly what I do my bookie is super fun and super easy Plus it keeps me engaged in games. Yeah, but it is it is much different than it was like 15 years ago

There's there is actual movement and it feels like the Vikings are gonna be involved in some capacity in in the next month Yeah, I would even say like the last probably what last five years. It's been it's it finally has picked up to a point where it's like Okay, there's gonna be some trades. It's not it's it's really the only thing and it's like said It's it's gotten better, but it's the only thing that the other leagues have on the NFL is The NFL's trade deadline is just now right now. It's it's okay But all the other leagues they do the trade deadline better than the NFL and I also think that's because Typically it's draft picks being used and draft picks for NFL teams are At a fall at times are very important to them. They don't want to give up those draft picks We're in baseball you can get creative with prospect tools and NBA. There's a ton of draft picks You can just trade and sell and move so yeah, it's become better, but I am curious to see what it what happens this year Yeah Okay, one more poke at me and then we're gonna get to some pokes at Judd here Alex says fill put your Vikings defense wins 11 games this year on right that down put your money where your mouth is

I did before the season you did he did said went on the record and said they're gonna win at least 11 games because of this defense right this down So okay Judd brace yourself Scott Grooters Chimes and then says Scotty not you Scotty a two-shotty I've been a listener to the show for five or six years And I have to say listening to Judd's hottest take on Monday and reasons for it is not what I want to hear after another win And a forno start to the season. I know Judd will say he's the sports dad and has to be honest with the audience We get it the offense hasn't looked good, but for the good of the show and in the enjoyment of the audience Can we get more of positive fill and less of judgey Judd? You know what that's that's not harsh. That's very very fair. I mean absolutely not so so I'm not changing it And I actually do think it's funny. I got pushback on that take But it's probably one of my favorite hottest takes of all time that I've done

Because I really do believe if you had had teasley in place if you would fire I mean if you're gonna fire Quasie after the senior bowl you should have fired him in January But that being said that that judgey Judd is incredibly fair Cardi B. I'm more well I'm not a cardi I like Cardi before she went a little wacko I'm much I was much more of a Nicki Minaj fan than I was a Cardi B fan for the audio audience that's your idea What we're talking about now after 17 100 says Declan sings Cardi B songs while in the shower All right Judd Chad Burkett says Dear per don't try don't try to buddy up Chad because he's gonna Dear purple daily crew Judd the sports dad Zolga Zol God has Completely lost the plot his negativity about this Forno Kevin O'Connell is perplexing K. O. C. has the highest winning percentage of any Vikings head coach full stop Does Judd have some kind of superpower that allows him to know what K. O. C. is thinking?

He did change the offense against Miami for Kyler Murray God knows I'm no K. O. C. Stan and he deserves criticism for the offensive penalties But Kyler is a number one overall draft pick and we should expect him to be able to go out and execute better than he has Again, that's not that harsh at all. So he did change it. He went to more shotgun and pistol I don't think that they morphed enough until the second half I Believe Hawkinson cut three passes in the first half he cut three alone in the third quarter and then he caught a bunch in the fourth but This is losing speaking of losing the plot. Let me explain here. I have pounded the drum on this Kevin O'Connell is a good head coach Oh wow judgey jud two-stay after news at three central time on Fox which Fox a Fox because like Fox news. Ooh FS1. Yeah, okay, Fox business in a Fox business I'm local and the Fox and the last time I look a lap

River Murdoch could put me on any one of those and it would crush But I but the thing is I think and I guess I'll say it again Kevin O'Connell is a good head coach Like we're dissecting play calling an offense. I never once said he's lost a locker room. He's doing a bad job I don't want to fire him. I Don't want to I don't think it's a Personal attack on on what he does as a head coach. I think it's very fair to critique is a lot of folks are right now The offense, but I really don't want this to become and I don't think that we are doing this I don't think this show is bashing him at as a coach the win percentage is good are there flaws? There's flaws with every coach But does he do a good job with this team and while he doesn't coach the defense? You know what he's the guy though as far as I know went out and got florist right he gets credit for that so I hate having to say this again and again and again

And yes, Basham Kevin says no, I'm not gonna bash him as a coach I'm not gonna bash I've seen too many guys I've seen too many guys who have an expertise on one side of the football and Their crappy head coaches and this guy is the opposite. He is a good head coach Well, Alex Boate disagrees because the title of this email includes Alex Boate I think so three of the star asterisks and then K.O.C. needs to give up the offense followed by three more star asterisks Okay When are we all gonna admit that Kevin O'Connell should not be running the offense anymore He doesn't adapt his play calling to the skill sets of his players many say he just needs a quarterback like Donald Their Kirk that only enables his inept abilities if he gets a quarterback like that again He'll forget the run game go back to spamming deep past plays People act like when Darnell was his quarterback the offense was amazing. It wasn't yeah It was 14th in EPA, and it was I don't know like ninth in the artids or something Yeah, I distinctly remember the frustration of not having consistent offensive drives people forget the offense with

Darnell was very average and it only seemed competent because Darnell would connect on two to three deep Completions each game how bad does the offense have to be before K.O.C. is forced to give up the offense who's gonna tell him is it ownership? The teezinator Do you think we're gonna get to a point like let's say they have two or three more clunker games? Yeah, no, I know what would he would he know? Remove himself from play calling. I think it's his identity like I think he sees it as his identity So I absolutely don't now, but that's see Alex is going after what we're talking about which is the offense and the and The offense was not outstanding with Kirk or Darnell But you could see from most of the time what they were trying to do With Kyler at times you don't know you're like what are you doing here? With Darnell and with Kirk it was at times questionable, but it was not I Don't get what you're trying to do here, but Alex is going after what we are talking about which is Kevin O'Connell and the debate about him as an offensive guy

There's so many more things that go into being where for all of you who want to fire him and bring in the next make floors the head coach Okay Let's talk about that for a second Brian floors is a great defensive coordinator. He's a great defensive mind quite frankly I think he's I think his personality type appeals to guys to play defense They want to attack they want to hit quarterbacks. They want to cause harm But you have to be I guess the best way to put this is to be a successful head coach in 2026 and it's changed you also have to be somewhat of a politician You know what Brian floor is not it's not a politician doesn't give a damn what you think and I'm gonna tell you right now That might work for a year or two But that's a shelf life thing then like you're shelf life if that's you if you are if you are This is what we're doing and the defense is like yeah and your quarterbacks like what the hell? Guess what you lose the team So it's a very important distinction here Because we could certainly talk about guys that are really good at offense

We can talk about guys that are good at defense, but just saying well then the guy that's good at defense should get the head coaching job You are so far over your skis if you think it's that simple you're crazy Yeah, I The because there has been a little bit of ground swell of well what what you brought Brian floor is Don't you have to consider at some point? Shouldn't he be the head coach? I hope he gets an opportunity to be a head coach I think he deserves a second crack at it and I think the circumstances that have prevented him from getting that second chance or Are unfortunate it's possible that if the defense continues to to be number one in the NFL that he's just gonna be Undeniable in the hiring cycle in in January February despite the ongoing litigation But I think the best case scenario for the Vikings is that he just gets to make six million dollars a year in a lab cooking defense And not have to worry about the CEO stuff from 30,000 feet that takes away from your ability to to scheme up the way that he has

There are some really interesting I don't know enough to know if like we're at the point where offensively It's like been like a 23 game sample size of pretty bad offense here I don't know if we're at the point where Kevin O'Connell should should not call plays you know It's so hard to know what the inner workings are are of like why some of these Offensive tactics aren't working, but I do know that there are some really interesting CEO head coach types that do not call plays on either side of the ball right now Right and I'm 95% sure I'm accurate on this It's not the full list, but it includes John Harbaugh Mm-hmm It includes Dave Canales in Carolina It includes Kevin's to Fanski. He does not call offensive plays For the Falcons no like okay, you could say Carolina and Lana. They're not exactly a super bowl juggernaut But they've got both those teams have a lot clicking on offense while the coach gets to focus on You know, I'm sure he I'm sure Kevin's to fancies coming in on the headset if they run 60 offensive plays is he strongly

Recommending 12 of them or 15 of them. Hey, it's a high-leveraged spot or I I've been observing something here I think we should I think we should dial this up Versus like being in the 42nd play clock Grindr and hamster wheel where you can't necessarily take some time to figure out all right Let's just like think about the big picture here while I don't call a play for the next 15 minutes, you know Well, I think that's a fair discussion to have if the offense doesn't start to click on a on a higher level here soon for All the people including us who complain about why does the play take so long like like why is the quarterback Waiting why is the play clock at five? It's because of that and the thing too is coaches who call plays talk about the fact that as soon as you call the play You're onto the next play So like the play is developing right the play that you called but you've got to be Thinking of the next play and what it might be down in distance or dnd as I like to call it all of those things Are a very and Oconnell here's where I think his strength is too Phil it that that you bring up the CEO title

I actually think Oconnell's strength is as a CEO I agree everything he does about being a coach is a CEO And so it makes sense that by tying himself up on game day in the minutia And not having an extension of himself to help call plays He is he is hurting himself when it comes to the team's functioning because his strength is big picture. Yeah Yeah, so I feel like this is a big week you're going into a biweek as well and There's just you know you got a few weeks until the trade deadline There's just a lot a lot a lot week to week is on the line here with how good this defense is We'll get some more feedback. I started thinking about um Why is nobody talking about grant you dinsky the absence of grant you dinsky What if he was carrying more weight behind the scenes than maybe we thought going back to all of kosis press conferences in previous years Kosie always gave a shout out and credit to grant Would love y'all's opinion on that so grant you dinsky is the current offensive coordinator for the jaguar's the last couple years And that offense has been humming under Liam Cohen and grant you dinsky I think it's a very good point. I mean he's he was it's funny because First of all when it comes to assistance right especially like position guys. It's hard to tell like coordinators you you can tell but When you get into the minutia of you know grant you dinsky is doing into great job Is he really doing a great job or do you like him and you're throwing him a ball and publicly because it's gonna help his chance to get a better job now Since he's left and the fallout from that I think there is something to it. I think there definitely is but Phil you've

Certainly covered the Vikings long enough to know that it is hard to tell on position coaches exactly Exactly how vital they might be especially on game day But with you dinsky gone there was a void and I'm not sure it feels like the Vikings might not have filled that yet and that is an issue It he feels um He's probably gonna be a hot head coach in candidate for even next year in this next coming cycle You know different paths obviously because because Kellan Moore was like a college quarterback But he bounced around to the cowboys to the Eagles then got has the same job where the Vikings are facing this year And you dinsky is still pretty young-ish But wouldn't shock me at all if he probably got some interviews obviously that coming this this off season But yeah, he's he's been great. He's he's he's he's young But he's he's been awesome. He's a big cog and big reason why Jacksonville's one of the best teams the NFL this year Yeah, I think for the it's so hard to know like who deserves credit for what behind the scenes often I mean obviously from a scheme in play calling standpoint Kevin O'Connell and Liam Cohen are the main guys in Minnesota and Jacksonville throughout you dinsky's career

But my hunch is as as kind of an on the ground whether it was In the quarterback room or now as an offensive coordinator who doesn't call plays and is is involved kind of behind the scenes I think you dinsky Across two different stops now is regarded as just a great communicator Hey, this is this is our offense I know you as a human and as a quarterback and he's clearly able to To build that connection And so he's been associated with the best seasons of Sam Darnold and Trevor Lawrence's careers like statistically So hard to know exactly how much his absence has made an impact But the offense has been pretty bad since Grant Udinsky left the Vikings Maybe that's not a coincidence logical conclusion Sothernexile says he's bringing some data to the Vikings 2026 makeup here He said we have precedent that teams with similar outputs on offense and defense have won the Super Bowl in the last 25 years

Most people consider DVOA is one of the best overall metrics for success when analyzing offense and defense It is DVOA is is an old football outsiders metric that is used in I believe most front offices It's like expected points added in DVOA or kind of the the analytical Measurements in the NFL As of week four the Vikings are number one in defense number 26 on offense The offense is definitely a struggle bus, but let's consider the following The 2000 Ravens won the whole thing with a number two ranked DVOA defense and a number 22 ranked DVOA offense People might be wondering wait a second the Ravens the second best defense I don't I haven't pulled up the list, but I think the tight the Titans were Almost as good of a defense that year But obviously don't get the pub and the credit because they got beat by the Ravens in the first round of the playoffs And then the Ravens went on to win the Super Bowl

The 2002 Tampa Bay box had the number one DVOA defense and a number 20 DVOA offense The 08 Steelers number one in defense 21 in offense And then the 15 Broncos number one in defense 25th in offense. So that is four examples That are very similar to what the Vikings current profile is That have won a Super Bowl in the last 25 years Your thoughts. I would like to see the Vikings if they I feel like if they were 20th right right now We probably we might be complaining a little bit, but not a ton So I would like to see them. I'm can you get up to like 19 or 20 Yeah, I'm not asking I'm not asking for top five. I'll jump on that wagon with you I'm not asking for something higher than 26. Yeah, yeah, so I'm not asking for and I think that's where I hate to say this because it sounds so demeaning But I think that's where the sweet spot is just get up to like 19 or 20. Yeah, because I think we'll back off

Yeah, well, I think yeah, if it was if it looked a little just where you're not you're not only up by five points in the fourth quarter against the dolphins or something If you can do what you did in the second half against the dolphins, okay? And Jefferson comes back and you mix in a little bit of the big play stuff I don't think we're I think we are still talking and praising the brine floors defense for sure But the consternation the hand ringing the gnashing of teeth goes away up it if you just get this thing up I do have bad news and that it might not Look that way this week because you're probably not gonna have the left side of your offensive line Yeah, you've got it you got a couple receivers that are if they play are not a hundred percent That's a tough one, you know, it's uh This this might be a week where they just have to get out of Louisiana with any type of W And then we can start gnashing our teeth again after the bioweak. I also I'm curious how things go especially at left guard

Because with Jackson out for the season I'm wondering if the bioweak is is where you make a decision on trying to bring in a Left guard there. I just don't see I think that Joe Hubert's a nice backup I don't know he is a full-time player and their depth there is so thin That uh, I'm actually I think Darisaw is going to miss the game he misses time I'm hopeful that because of the bioweak he gets a week off he comes back The left guard though is a potential problem I don't know who all the available options are gonna be and it's probably fewer than the guard options, but If a center option popped up between now and the trade deadline and I mean well cam jurgens was clearly available Yeah, and he went to the ravens Yeah, I could see them shopping center and then moving brand L to left guard and that's that's how you roll forward like a starting Yes, yeah, yes, I don't want to put so Michael Jurgens going in and brandl to left guard feels to me like a bad idea

But if you make a trade for a guy who who's a starter then yes So keep an eye on uh keep an eye on if there are centers that might be available in the next few weeks said from a place a little bit of knowledge I feel like you're doing a lot of I wouldn't be surprised if there were some centers available like should I not print that or what don't print that David Rose chimes in Says morning fellas I have a pretty big ask, but I think it's a reasonable one We haven't talked about Dallas Turner enough Can we do a little deep dive into Dallas Turner where he ranks on some key metrics I think we have a dp o y potential player here and we should be talking more about him please and thank you So here is where Dallas Turner ranks in some key categories He's third in pressures among all ed rushers He's third in quarterback hits among all ed rushers Profitball network has has him ranked fourth in ed rusher impact rankings

No idea how that stew is made But but dammit he give me a bowl of it he yeah PFF has him 30 second same ranking Yeah, well as he has he cracked the top four yet he's 37th now. Oh great. Wait. Wait. He dropped again. He's 40 second He's behind only TJ Watt will Anderson Jr. and Greg Russo in ed rusher impact rankings And then profitball network also has Dallas Turner ninth in pass rush efficiency Which basically measured how disruptive you are on a pass rush snap basis It is fair to say that the scheme is helping a lot and he's getting some Adventages matchups and situations because the scheme is so great But I don't think anyone should have to apologize for marrying a great scheme with a highly talented player And seeing it all come to fruition. It's like people like people are taking that equation and being like well. I mean It's awesome. He he's playing in a great scheme. They drafted him for the scheme

He's blossoming in front of our eyes and it's exactly the way that it should look through four games Bill Barnwell had him as his third most likely person to win defensive player of the year and also The odds makers agree only TJ Watt and will Anderson Jr. have a better odds to win defensive player of the year So far through four games And so like if it was just in a vacuum who is the more like if it's just one-on-one peer dominance Okay, like TJ Watt will Anderson they have proven track records of yes But hey don't apologize for dominating in a great scheme Dallas Uh, okay, let's see here. Let's get to it. Let's get to a few more here um I'm trying to set if we want to go down this trade rabbit hole here We might as well just do it real quick Because there was like two or three people that emailed the feedback tab So I'll just throw this out quick to you guys Riley goal says with all the Eagles trades and speculation Why not kick the tires on jalen hurts if you're gonna go all in for a quarterback

Why not one that's won the whole bleeping thing and then Mac and Wyoming says Hey, uh, how about not trading for bark Lee but jalen hurts some reckless speculation for you guys I don't know if the Eagles can can reasonably do that even even if you just like don't account for the fact that I think jalen hurts would be one of the last quarterbacks you want operating a Kevin O'Connell I was gonna say yeah, how would that work? I mean you'd have to literally you'd have to completely change everything to like a read option sort of you know gap heavy your run game But I think the Eagles would have to take on like a 90 million dollar accelerated cap it if they traded jalen hurts At any point in the next copain. I just don't think you to fit Yeah, I agree completely So I think they're kind of no thank you stock there. Yeah Horn fans says I know our offense hasn't looked great Except for TJ Hockinson, but should we be concerned that juwan Jennings is pretty much nonexistent

Especially like on third downs he brings up here in this email because the Vikings are dead last in third down conversions It's weird. What are your thoughts is he is he washed or is it just another criticism of koc for not using players the right way It feels like he's not a fit and and as you and Thor brought up a couple of days ago or on Thursday on thursday It's also a situation where because Kyler doesn't throw to his receivers a lot that you know Joanne when Jefferson's healthy Jefferson Addison Jennings But it also doesn't feel just from the eye test of watching it It doesn't feel like he's a great fit. He definitely is blocking which which is fine But you know, it's funny that in in the game that Hockinson breaks out and Jennings who is as close to a tight end as a wide receiver can get Still doesn't get the ball. No Um, and this can't be and I know that he can I know the blocking was a selling point But when juwan Jennings signed here, I think it was in May right because he had asked for too much On the market in March. He's sat there. He sat there. He finally took the one your contract

This couldn't have been the goal of the juwan Jennings camp. Hey, we're just gonna go block. We're not gonna catch any passes No way. Yeah, it is yeah, there's there's no way anyone involved figured that it would it would look like this There's no way and especially the Jennings camp Because they they turned down a pretty hefty multi-year offer for San Francisco and got themselves into a bad spot Somebody screwed up there. Yeah, somebody screwed up bad by turning that contract down So I think some of it too is you know schematically the Vikings have moved much more toward heavier personnel before the jisholver injury And so there weren't as many wide receiver three snaps to go around But then also you have a quarterback that has one of the lowest wide receiver target percentages in his career Well compared to the average quarterback So there's just like there's just fewer wide receiver opportunities in this offense right now But I guess what's weird about it is against the dolphins Jefferson doesn't play so Jennings bumps up to the the number two guy

And I'll go back to what I said Hawkinson has this breakout game. He's a tight end Jennings is as close to a tight end as a wide receiver can get yeah, and he doesn't eat it all really Yeah, they're might if if obj is playable And Jefferson and Addison are healthy and you've had typhelt now out there in miles price If obj is playable as just like a fifth receiver on your active roster And you can get a draft pick for juan Jennings Don't you think they might explore that in the next few weeks absolutely Yes, it feels like that feels like it could be a biweek thing for sure. Yeah, yeah Kevin Murphy three two eight three says what's the point of snake dress What's the point of life Kevin? It's the point of anything. Oh On our way to a wild game. I live in Los Angeles where I've had plenty of celebrity sightings including a few names You guys might appreciate I've run into Stefan digs Jordan Addison even Stephen A Smith But my lucky seventh trip to Minneapolis in town for a Vikings game put me on the same train as the one and only Judd Zolgede Yeah, it was great So you do remember this interaction? Yeah, it was Saturday after the Michigan golfer game and I was taking the train back to the station to get my call

Oh, okay, yeah, and I'm sitting there and the guy turns around and goes Judd and I'm like hey What's going on sports dad Your nice girlfriend or wife was there was very nice got to talk to him both Yeah, he says I'm a long time listener frequent emailer So I introduced myself as the nicks met and Vikings fan who wrote in after the nicks finals Yeah, well, I remember Tim you you send good emails to him Judd thought he was just taking a train to a hockey game instead He got an unsolicited presentation on how a kid originally from Connecticut becomes a Vikings fan It was the Anthony Carter game for me a weekend full of local wins Although I won't be telling my grandkids or anyone's grandkids about how I was in the building for a 15 to 10 win over the Malik Willis lead dolphins So so Judd also he says Judd even if I suspect you got off a few steps early to avoid further conversation Oh, that's not why I don't know he got off at the halfway point the last car Yeah, which was the scene of an unfortunate good to go incident after that. So yeah, no, I actually that was a sincere

Because my car was in the parking lot. So nope. I did not avoid you It was a very pleasant conversation. He was very normal. It was very nice It was very normal very normal very normal. Tim also adds PS We did the us bank stadium tour great time and proof that your listeners do support your sponsors. Yeah Awesome, man. Shout out to Tim And then South Dakota Sam has a life event update fellas. I recently got married it to my lovely wife Ashley Shout out to South Dakota Sam and Ashley nice Been together for eight years finally tied the knot. Oh eight years I believe I remember Declan saying a while back When he got married that one of the best feelings from the wedding was the first time he got to say my wife I couldn't agree more it was electric the first time I ripped this is my wife while I was introducing my wife Yeah Anyway, keep up the good work. I haven't been on the show for a few years But try to keep up as much as I can the defense deserves better from the offense

I'd say go full Rams F them picks They end up being Lewis scenes anyways Sam South Dakota Sam doesn't have to be that way Sam doesn't have to be that way Not that the big team the big tease is gonna change that hopefully. Yeah, no kidding So are those of your purple daily life event updates here. It's time for a snake draft of the week Declan will give us the results and set up today's snake draft All right last week we did Best days Snake draft the best days which we will definitely still have to do the worst days We got the bookmark that and and do that sometime as well. I could that could get morded It could be really bad. Yeah, that could be really bad Uh Phil you finished in third place 21% of the vote You Judd you were second at 32% of the vote Oh, I took home the win With 47% that is my third consecutive win

You're on a heater good for you Um, according to the fact checkers aka aj Uh, if I win this week it will tie the longest streak there has not been a streak longer than four Wow between us so Get hot a potential Don't get hot. Yes, a potential a big clenching win if I can pick it up for the fourth time This is 112th all-time snake draft Fill you have 29 wins Judd 38 wins with me picking up three in a row. I have 27 wins aj 15 for 24 of course when filling in of course he is incredible business. Yes He's got i think aj is gonna be on next Friday snake draft Yes, so yeah, I'm off. We're not springing it on you this time. You have a lot to mentally prepare. I'm on next Friday I'm off next Friday so so no matter what even if I do pick up the fourth win it will stop

After next week got you well. I would argue it doesn't stop How does that work does it stop because you wouldn't have lost I? Feel like the streak should continue as long as you yeah are a participant well It'll stop as far as the consecutive weeks at the time go but yeah for you it for you it won't stop It's like a biweek for decks well, it's not well. Yeah. Yeah, it's like you are in the midst of a hitting streak If you don't play it doesn't stop correct. Yeah, I think it should you pinch it and go over one. It's done So true, but you got listen you're already looking ahead though. This is already the first the first trope here He's he's already look this is now become a trap game today because dexter's already looking ahead beyond to like the buy we and winning for an aerowax tough Yeah Especially in this league So so jud which mentioned the great mystic lake in the hot palace we can stay dying and unwind Mystic lake is hosting the price is right

Early next year So that Inspired us to do the best game shows snake draft So the order this week will be me with the top pick Fill with the second pick third of jud with the third and the wrap around pick Okay, a lot of pressure on the the first overall pick here. Yeah, yeah, I feel like I I feel like there's a lot of good options like I don't think there's a unanimous one But I also don't think that there's really a bad first pick option I have I think eight on my big board right now Um, I also have I have eight you have to I have eight as well. Oh boy. Yeah, I was going through What if if it's the same eight then wow then then someone's gonna be in trouble I'm sure it's not because Judging our school age differences. Yeah like

I went through a list of 30 game shows last night and there's a bunch. I have never heard of Oh really, okay, yeah, well, there's a bajillion that got like a year on TV or something Yeah, or they were for kids Some of the some of the Nickelodeon stuff I know some I don't MTV had game shows at one time. Yeah, yeah So with my first pick up. I'll take it. I'll take the aforementioned I'll take prices right I'll take the prices right I can't really price. I can't show prices wrong Bob The price is wrong Okay, so the price is right. It's a classic. Yeah, I'm trying to decide because you've got you've got my big board has like some classics It also has a few that are definitely more like a little more obscure, but I love them And you're kind of taking a chance on from a voting perspective Do people come with you? Oh, yeah, I remember that too. Are they like? I don't know what is that? I don't know. Yeah, that's a really good question

But no no matter what the number the number one on my big board. It is stood the test of time It was uh, it was a staple in our household growing up. Give me wheel of fortune with my first round pick here Yeah, I will pat say deck for you Yeah, and then what doesn't age? My My grandma watched that show in the afternoon in the 70s when when Chuck willery who hosted love connection actually hosted that show oh before pets before pat say j Okay, I can't got a can tell many times we were literally sitting down at dinner and that was playing in the background growing up Yeah, all the time six thirty right? Yeah, it was a we were 30 cc oh and cc news six six thirty And it's great because you don't you don't have to be watching the whole thing You know, you can just kind of pop you can literally just pop in for like five minutes and be entertained and then just piece out Yep, so okay, that puts Judd on the board here for back-to-back picks. Yep Mm-hmm boy I've got two game shows that I really like you know what I'm gonna go with it this one

It's been around. It's it's morphed and changed but it's an easy one to plan I feel like you stop lots of times on it. I'm gonna go with family feud Okay, yep family feud Yeah, who is the creepy old host that used to kiss everybody? Yeah on the list You are a lovely young woman Richard Dawson who I think was in Hogan's heroes too. Okay, but yeah He would kiss everyone. He would kiss all of the ladies on the lips. Yeah, super super weird Not creepy weird not creepy at all And then I am going to I'm actually going to go with a sports one here. I'm going to go with stump the Schwab Oh, stump the Schwab Yeah, dude, that was that was on my big board. I kind of shocked that you grabbed that this early But it's a great pick. Yeah, I figured if I didn't That you might Because I would have in your wheelhouse, right? Absolutely. Yeah, that's what I thought and then the Schwab got got so big Didn't like Yahoo hire him. Yeah, all right, like The Schwab got fired

He's dead now, but the Schwab got fired um Chris what's his face who was on Game day and is now with Fox Full of something it begins with oh Polika. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the bear he's the one that got but no the Schwab was The Schwab was like a researcher and he was so good that they get game a show and then in the last I don't know 10 years or 15 years they fired the poor guy and I think he's dead now. Yeah Okay, that was that's a good it's a great pick by you. It's a great pick So I'm back on the clock here. I got I gotta go with Who wants to be a millionaire? Ah, okay a classic I know there's been some different iterations But the OG with Regis Regis. Yeah, it was must watch appointment TV And I like the the fact that they were gonna possibly crown a random person a millionaire at the end of the show too It was just the whole thing was just brilliant Probably got a little I think they put it on daily in the afternoon for a while with like Meredith the era right yes

Yeah, okay, oh then they try over over milled that thing but yeah At the time was cool. All right, that puts decks on the back here for back to back picks Yeah, I was hoping that one was gonna fall but I'm also floored that this is still on the board. So give me Jeopardy Yeah, not a Jeopardy guy true smart for me. Oh really? It's good. I love I still put I will put that on it's usually on at 4.30 So and I usually get home with sunny around then if and then if I don't bring Vinnie I usually leave like the TV on forum and then usually what happens I get home sunny and we're you know Getting getting settled and then all of a sudden I'm blaring out usually incorrect But sometimes correct answers while watching check me I do not like the contestants Yeah, they can be hotty pompous. I find them to be pompous. I find them to be it's like a it's like going to a like Ivy league club. It's like you're a bunch of it's a little pretentious. It's a little pretentious I don't like you also. Why do we why do we need to be answering in the form of a question? Yeah, that's enough and if you don't but if you get it right but you don't answer in the form of a question that it's wrong

Yeah, what are we doing here? We were granted I think I passed out right as they started doing it funny enough The bachelor party I went to a couple months ago the last night Shocking All the guys is put on sports jeopardy and just watch that for oh apparently hours. That's cool The rock is night that that that bachelor parties in your mid 30s sports jeopardy You know Okay, so I took Jeff what happened to this country. I know you said sports jeopardy to bachelor party Um, so I'll take kind of more it's not around anymore But man when this when this came out I was hooked as as a kid and teenager. Give me dealer no deal Yeah, the brief houses It's good Yep, that that was I love that and if you ever play it like they have like video game versions and slot versions Eccacinos and stuff or you can kind of play yourself. It's a good time there Okay, two more picks left here one for me one for Judd I

Feel like there's a whole category completely untapped here. We did not discuss it before the show oh boy I'm gonna go MTV's the challenge the challenge MTV's the challenge Yeah, this account accounts accounts it totally counts. It's a it's a physical competition game show Yes, yeah, okay I did drama the challenge. Uh, what was it was the challenge and then versus what was the what they had like a combined show too It was road rules versus real world real world Which it yeah, real world was ruined by that crap when that show started I loved it because it was just a bunch of people having sex and fighting And then but then they made them get jobs and it's like we're gonna go have a job y'all good and it's like oh my god This and then it's like road rules versus real world the real world was meant to be lived in a hot tub in one house with a bunch of people who by the end hated each other

And inevitably kicked one person out. Yeah, it is funny that they made them like get jobs I hate what are we doing with the jobs? I hated that just go get drunk the first cut exactly go out to the bars get drunk fight I've so with you on that all right that puts Judd back on the clock for the final pick here Okay, I'm gonna go real old school. This might lose me it, but I don't care. I'm going with the gong show the gong show. I love the god Chuck bear. Yeah, yeah, I've gone. I've never completely start to finish super weird and vibe like it was the 70s just fueled with drugs whenever you hear someone say it's a gong show It's just a mess of chaos Yeah, and a performer a performer so there would be three I think ordinarily celebrity judges a performer would Come out and be so bad that the question was who would be the first celebrity judge to pick up the big gong thing and hit the gong Yeah, which was right behind him. It was great, but it was also a freak show. I loved it

So with that here are the results dex winds up with the prices rights Jeopardy and dealer no deal kind of a classic list of Game shows I wind up with wheel of fortune who wants to be a millionaire and the challenge Judd goes with family feud stump the Schwab and the gong show Kind of all over the map. I was all over love it Yeah, I had you can you can vote on the great stuff on the youtube channel homepage purple love this topic Yeah, I had the other two on my big board if I if we ran out of picks or something I had doubled air from Nickelodeon Yep, and another one I really liked uh, I liked the weakest link You guys remember the weakest link you are the weakest link goodbye that that was it was probably more iconic for that than it was like the actual show I feel like but um you always had the celebrities that were always involved I think cane from ww one at one time like there was a ww version like mast cane Um did he have the voice box thing? Yeah, it was actually tagging

He's the man out right? Small town in Tennessee uh nox nox county tenets. Yeah, nox county. Not nox field nox Legends of the hidden temple was buried at the bottom of my of mine. It was the the Nickelodeon Run of shows like double there legends of the hidden temple and then what was the other one guts guts was in I never heard of those Dating game dating game was mine. I didn't use that but I love that's another freakish 60s 70s show The new ed game The gray area of mtv like date my mom was great um silent library was great As a teenager like 13 growing up without those shows were was was was real peak television was uh I think it was called remote patrol correct on mtv patrol remote patrol Single about control single doubt Jenny McCarty oh yeah control remote control in the 80s and 90s yes

And I don't remember that one though. That's what it was yeah That's before your time, but that that was I think that was one of the first ones that they did Thank you remote control Jeff says that too. Okay, apparently Mike dick had died according to comments here. All right Legend man. That was a great run for Mike dick. Dude. He did have a iconic iconic run Sure, that's gonna be uh pretty big topic over the weekend down the football shows. Yep. Yep. Yeah This he was still loved there too New Orleans too Oh, they're gonna they'll probably do it tributes him right straight it away the whole draft Well, yeah, but but let's talk about the fact quickly here that Drew breeze is going to call the game on Fox Run down to the field at halftime to be honored by the Saints. Yeah The whole thing the fact that he's calling a saying I think it's one thing if Jonathan Vilma calls the Saints game when you have like the icon of the franchise I was gonna say that I it does I get that Tom Brady might call a Patriot's game at some point if he has already

um Whatever like it's just Vikings fans are gonna be telling us about it. It's just a weird though But it feels weird that a guy who who is a legend of the franchise And and he's going to like run down at halftime to be fed to be fed by the Saints Is calling the game on national TV. I'm gonna. I'm not gonna lie. It feels like an odd it feels like an odd sort of choice I think I would have given breeze the weekend off and said you know what just go there. It's cool Let's bring Mark Sanchez back for that slot there for just one week. Yeah. Yeah, I Happening in that case. I love Adam a mean too. Adam means like one of my favorite play by playguys And I feel like he's just kind of dragged down by and breeze breeze has gotten better like I don't think he was as a train Reck as he was when he first started, but I would have I would appreciate a better tag team partner for a mean Yeah, they might have rushed that one. I feel like the the bottom of the barrel on foxes. They got to let's examine like Drew breeze Chris Myers like some of these okay. There's got to be some more fun options out there
