Hello, welcome to your Hollywood crime scene mini-episode. Hello. Hi, Dazzy. Hi. First mini back from Atlanta and Austin.
Yes. Oh, boy. I've been tired. Yeah. It's a lot. I had to decompress for a couple days. But you know what? I had a great time. Yes. And I just wanted to thank everyone who came out. And it was an absolute joy to meet everyone. Yes. Definitely. So, thank you guys so much. We'll get into more of that later in the, what did you eat segment? Because we ate some good stuff. Okay. Let's get to our top story. I couldn't wait to talk about this. This is from USA Today. Johnathan Taylor Thomas got arrested because he kicked an LA deputy in the stomach. In the stomach? I think it was in the stomach. Wow. And then the next day, he said he was arrested after the deputy said he interfered with a suspected DUI investigation involving the driver of a car he was in. So he wasn't even the driver. He was just like, fuck you.
He's like, leave my drug buddy alone. So he's in a car. The driver got pulled over for suspected DWI. And he got mad. He says, home improvement star, Johnathan Taylor Thomas was taken into custody earlier this week. The actor, 45, was arrested in West Lake Village, California. In the early hours of September 21st, after deputies investigated the driver of the car he was in for a suspected DUI. So yes, some his friend or whoever was driving. According to the department, deputies initially saw the vehicle stopped at a green light blocking traffic at an intersection and quote, notice the driver was acting odd and appeared to be intoxicated. I'd like to know details. What did he do? Yeah. Because I guess, I mean, technically he was like, okay, I'm too drunk to drive. My friends get a drive.
But you got to make sure your friend's not all so drunk. That's part of it. Authorities later conducted a traffic stop and performed field sobriety tests on the driver. During that time, Thomas, the passenger, quote, appeared intoxicated, continually exited the vehicle and approached the deputies, distracting them from their investigation. I like it. He's like, I got a plan. Yeah. I'm not defending DUI by the way. I always love when people think they can distract cops. I just admire that because I would be like, I'm just like, let's just move it out because it's drunk behavior. Yeah. It's very drunk. It's always a good idea. Yeah. You can't scheme in this. You just got to get it over with and move on. It's just, it once again, I think I told this story recently. It's like my friend Juliette when we got stopped by the cops for being drunk in public as teenagers. And she tried to distract the cop by hitting on him and what she said to him was, has anyone
ever told you you look like detective Stabler? Oh, right. It didn't work. Yeah. Yeah. But they're probably used to that. He said all the time. Yeah. Anyway, deputies attempted to detain Thomas for obstruction and public intoxication. At which point Thomas kicked a deputy in the stomach. Damn. That's a pretty high kick. Do you think he leaned over and did the high ass kick? Like I'm just a roundhouse? Yeah. Or even just like what you're just bending over and you're like, yeah. I think he did a roundhouse kick. Because kicking someone in the stomach. And he's like a short guy. He is. Yeah. I have no idea. He's little. I've never, I was never a question on him. Me either. He's not my, he was so, he was so popular. I never got it. I never got it either. And I was the exact age demo for girls who let, who were like in love with him. Right. But I never was into him.
I thought he was such a corn ball. I was like, like why are you, you can't have a crush on someone from home improvement. Sorry. That's not like a show. He was, but he also, those three boys, the three boys, everyone had a crush on one of those boys. But Jonathan Taylor Thomas was the number one in the stratosphere. And he also did the movie Man of the House. Right. He was like definitely the star. Yeah. And he was in all the Bob. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And the JTT. JTT. I mean, everyone was obsessed with him. I had a friend who was obsessed with him. I did not get it at all. I was like, he's too clean cut. As like, it's beyond even clean cut. I don't know why I actually don't think he's on. I wonder why. Like there's something about him just like does not appeal to me at all. I don't know what it is. I just wanted someone who looked like trouble. Yeah. I mean, we both had the same. My whole life. Yeah. I never wanted the clean cut guy. No, me either.
I am trying to think of like the cleanest cut guy. I am too. That I liked. I don't know. Channing Tatum. Maybe. But I would. Corey Ham. I don't know. He's a dirtbag. He's a bad boy. But he didn't really look. He didn't really look. He wasn't. That wasn't his like persona initially. Bad boy. No. But you could tell. Yeah. But you could still tell. You could tell. I mean, he was like, I'm just, I wasn't even that into him. He's kind of the closest maybe because he had a more traditionally good guy look. Look to him, I think. Well, I just love the last boys. He had like a heart draw. Look to him for sure. But I just think you could just tell. He was like, even when I saw the last boys, I was like, oh, he's cute. But I was like, but Jason Patrick. He's and key. You know, like that was really my, not my type more, but he was too old for me. Probably that. Yeah. I liked Christian Slater. I never really liked Christian Slater. What? No. I don't know why.
Are you kidding me? No. He never appealed to me. I mean, I liked him in certain movies and I liked some of his movies. I think the last. I just never had a crush on him. I think the hottest a man has ever looked as JD and heathers. Yeah, I never, I never was like a crush. I didn't ever had a crush on him. I liked him as an actor. And I liked some of his movies, obviously. But yeah, I never had a crush on him, which is weird. I admit. But he is a thousand times better than Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I always liked the bad boy. There was also in the group immature, the boy band. I guess they were. They were like, they were like kids. They were like an R&B group, but they were like, how was that spelled? I don't remember. I think it's just spelled immature. Okay. But I liked the bad boy in that group. I think his name was Batman. Batman. So yeah, there was Romeo, Batman and somebody else. Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know that group. But he had an eye patch like that was his signature look. And that he was my favorite. Yeah, that's how I was like the bad boy. Of course. So JTT, he looks very different nowadays. We all these kids from home improvement have been in trouble. Right? Right? Every single child from home improvement, this is the trifecta now. They all have had some weird news story about them. We need to do a home improvement episode. We really should. We just put them all together. Honestly, I would love to do a home improvement episode because then we can revisit our Tim Allen material and the vegan and the vegan restaurant with the youngest one, Terran Noah Smith. They all have three names. I don't remember. What's that? The older one, the Zagre tie brine. See? It's like serial killers. Zagre tie brine is like a bad guy. Wasn't he like a domestic abuser? He was a domestic abuser.
Okay. I know he had some kind of arrest. We couldn't remember what? And then Terran Noah Smith, he like aged really funny. I mean, history is off the charts. I mean, we didn't have a so called sitcom scandals. Yeah. We let's put them all together in home improvement. But I'd like to do, I'd like to do like a revisiting. Yeah. And see if we can find any other info. We got, well, I think we should get that together. Because that will be funny. Okay. I'm excited. Okay. I'm really excited. What else do we have? Okay. So this is something my mom sent us on Instagram. Oh, God. And my mom has like the boomer algorithm on Instagram. Yeah. Like when she's always suspicious. We're always suspicious of if it's a real story or not. Yeah. And we have to like fact check. Yes. It is a real story. For you, it's sent us, but it's an old story. Oh, okay. But I'm gonna do the story. Okay. I guess it went viral again recently. Okay.
Um, this is from the daily star. It is a, it was a real story. Um, this is, man gets testicle stuck in five pound Ikea stool in tow curling shower mishap. Yeah. Remember that? Yeah. Ikea. Oh, wait, I thought it was in a shower. Oh, yeah. Wasn't the shower. So he, I, because he put a Ikea stool in the shower to sit on when he was showering. I don't know why, but they had little decorative holes in it. So when he sat his ball went through the hole. I don't know if it was one of the, you know those things for you. It's like it goes through easily, but then it swells up after you've gone through. Yeah. So that's all got stuck through the hole. That is horrific. I, I thought this, I didn't read the whole story. So I thought this happened at night. Yeah. No, because the key detail is that he has his pants off.
Yes, you're right. I mean, I don't, maybe people do that at a key. That doesn't really make sense. Um, okay. So a Norwegian man's painful Ikea mishap has gone viral all over again. So this story is about how recently one viral again. After social media rediscovered the tale of how he managed to get his testicle stuck inside a five pound stool during a shower, the bizarre internet moment first exploded back in 2016, but is now doing the rounds once more on Facebook, Instagram and Reddit. At the center of it is close your stad. Mm hmm. Then 45, a photographer and politician. Sorry. Sorry. From Alta Norway. Imagine if this guy was your representative. Honestly, in this day and age, yes, I could. Who said he bought Ikea's cheap, Marius stool to sit on in the shower because of a knee injury.
Well, now you got a ball injury. I'm just like, why would you get this stool, sir? The trouble is the Marius seat has eight ventilation holes. And Klaus says one quote, boatswain in his crew. What? He's trying to be cute about his balls. Seize the chance to escape. Okay. Here is a picture of the holes of the stool. Yeah. So they're about ball size. So he was really sitting on the edge. Well, no. No, I mean, the balls are kind of, they're in a circle in the middle. But they're kind of, I was, I'm surprised how close to the edge they are because I would think his balls would be right in the middle. I think balls can stretch. I think balls can be long. That's true. We don't know his ball length. Do I'd like to know if which hole it was? If it was a hole behind him. Yeah. If it was a hole in front of him or beside him.
Yeah. Where did the balls go? I agree. They should have circled it. I want to diagram. I do too. This is where I need that documentary animation to come in. This is where I need it to show me things that they don't want to show me. Show me. Or like a football commentator. Yes. Absolutely. For me. In his now famous review style post on, oh, so he left a review. Oh, that's funny. In his now famous review style post on Ikea Norways Facebook page, he wrote one boat swing slipped away unnoticed and saw his chance to slide down into one of the holes in the stool. I didn't notice this at first. And we as we know things tend to expand in the heat. Oh, no. So the ball only one of his balls went down. How do you not notice this, sir? I really, that would be very obvious. Yeah. Well, he's like, I'm going to use boat swing. He just learned boat swing.
I have never heard that in my life. That's crazy. He added. I didn't notice this until I went to stand up and realized this stool was stuck to my back side. It's just like Charlie chop. This is like, this is why they had to keep mentioning that it was a five pound stool. No, no, no, five pounds like money. Oh, like denomination. Okay. I thought the wait, wait five pounds. This is the daily, it's a five dollar. It's a five dollar. I don't know. Or however much that is in town. Okay. I was wondering why they kept mentioning the wait. No, it's British. The story is dangling there. And I felt a holy pain strike me like lightning that God forsaken lump of a boat swing was stuck in the hole. Why are you being cute about this? Just say you're not. No one knows what the fuck you're talking about, sir. This is not a good review. Also, I like that this is a review where it's like no one else is doing this, babe.
It's like the warning. Like don't stick the curling iron up your ass. Okay. Thanks. It's like we don't need, we don't need this particular review, sir. It's no one else is finding this useful. Clouse even considered desperate measures, including warming himself up with a hair dryer. What? Or realizing that might be a one way ticket to electrocution. Well, was he in the shower with it on stuff? What is he doing? Why would that help? In the end, why didn't you just get some oil? Well, if they said things swell in the heat, why would you heat things up? I don't know. This guy. In the end, nature solved it. How? I don't know. In the hot water finally ran out, the shower turned icy and the swelling went down. The cold had actually caused that bloated boat swaying to shrink again. Okay, sir. Why didn't you think about in the first place?
This is sickening, thinking about him in the shower without ball sack bloated. So with a pop, I was a free man once more. He told us this for no reason because he could have never told anyone this. I assumed he had to be brought into the emergency room and there was no way that people weren't going to be talking about this. But no, he had to tell us this and we never would have known otherwise. This is crazy, dude. And this also isn't even, I mean, is he trying to warn people? There's no reason for this. Yeah. Also, this is like you said, this is a public figure. So you'd think he'd have even more reason to keep this quiet. It's crazy. Meanwhile, a bizarre new wellness craze has. What? Is this the same story? Yeah. I think you were starting a new one. No, no, this is the final paragraph on this story.
I don't know where it's going. Meanwhile, a bizarre new wellness craze has left, has left men chilling their crown jewels in a desperate bid to supercharge their manhood. What? The daily star previously reported the latest trend taking over internet forums is enough to send a shiver down your spine as guys are actively icing their testicles. Now why are they doing that? It's a biohacking trend, of course. Come on. Your pointless biohacking trend. I hate that term. Because it's always people who are into that don't know how to fuck. It's just so, it's like, it's such a red flag. If you say biohacking to me, goodbye. I'm turning around and walking my hats out of any place. Because that person is never going to eat a cron trap supreme with you. I'm just like, bye, like, that's so boring to me. You're a loser. I want to pig. Imagine like, that's your thing.
Biohacking. You want to live long to be boring? Who cares? Yeah. It sucks. Our next story. Okay, this happened in Burbank. It is not a butt sniffer. Oh. But it is a Burbank story. This is from NBC4 Los Angeles. Man arrested for pepper spray in Moogower over cell phone use at Burbank Theater. No. Los Angeles man was arrested after allegedly pepper spray another movie goer who was using a cell phone during a film at a Burbank theater. Officers. Officers from the Burbank Police Department responded to the AMC 16 theater at about 5.30 pm. On September 15th, following a report that one patron had pepper sprayed another inside a theater. They said the suspect 34 year old Matthew where became upset with another patron who
was using a cell phone during the movie and sprayed the person with pepper spray. That's crazy. I will say it is incredibly rude to use your cell phone at the movies. I agree. Put it away. I also feel like people are on the edge of a nervous breakdown at all times in these days. So don't push someone to this level. I don't think it's correct behavior to pepper spray someone. But I understand when you're at your wit's end. I. It's just we don't know what this person has gone through. Well, we've talked about this before about how the public has seemingly become more rude. Yeah. Since COVID. Yeah. Whether it has to do with the isolation we all went through in the first year or the brain damaging effects we know to be sometimes side effects of COVID.
I just think combined that with the fact that people literally are over everything and just like push to the edge right now for the most part. That's no excuse. You can't harm people like that. But I get like it's a perfect storm and it's like this fucking Yahoo on their cell phone. Yeah. It's just like can I just have a fucking movie? Right. That's like I think that's where that guy's coming from. I get where the guy's coming from, but I also very much disagree with pepper spray someone. It's too extreme. Unfortunately curse him out. Yeah. Be like get the fuck out of here. Exactly. Like you can do throw your popcorn on him. That's a great. It's not gonna harm him, but you're getting greasy but are all over him. I don't know. Like pepper spray is too extreme. Yeah. It's too, that's come on. Because I think other people in the theater also got residual pepper spray on them. Yeah. Yeah.
Of course. Why does a man have pepper spray? I was actually wondering that like why did he have pepper spray? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what anyone's doing. I don't know what anyone's doing. I don't know what anyone's doing. Two other movie goers reported experiencing irritation from the pepper spray and retreated at a local hospital. A witness who was there said the mayhem happened about 40 minutes into the movie. Everything was normal and all of the sudden behind me, I hear the sound of an aerosol can like a spray. Oh. Says Joe Rodriguez. And a guy just yells out, I just got pepper sprayed. I'm sorry. This guy just pepper sprayed me. Rodriguez told NBC News he was sitting in the road directly in front of the altercation and saw where immediately run out of the theater. Three other movie goers appeared to chase after him before locating him elsewhere in the theater. What was the movie? I would like to know that. I don't know why it matters to me.
Rodriguez said he'd later watched where speak with police and came away with the impression that the confrontation was not done in an act of self defense. Yeah. The thing that stuck out the most was him saying that the guy on the phone quote got smart with him. Oh. It's Rodriguez told NBC News. This was just a guy who was frustrated and lashed out because a guy was being rude at the movies. He probably told them to turn the phone off and the guy was like shut up dick and then he got his ass peppers. That's the other thing I'm always baffled by. People act like other people won't willingly harm them and that stops me from doing things. When I get like road rage, I'm like, I don't want to get shot. Yeah. Just because I give someone the finger or get yell at them. It's just like not worth it. I do have a. I mean, I know how to control my temper, but there are moments where I'm definitely like,
I don't care if this puts me in harm's way. I'm seen red right now. Like if someone I agree if someone does something incredibly like rude where you don't even think no, and your reaction happens. I'm like that too. Like where I want to like, deck someone. Oh, yeah. I've had those instances too and it is always when I do it, I'm like, thank God the person wasn't like going to punch me or whatever. You know what I mean? Like, I've gotten lucky. I don't know when the last time I went off on someone was. It's been a long time. Yeah. Because I generally do not do that. It's not good for me. But there was a moment where somebody was outside of my house being incredibly rude and Brendan sees me charging about to charge out the door and he had to stop me because he knew what would happen. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm glad he did because in that moment I didn't pause and take a breath. I agree.
You always get a pause. You never know what you're walking into. Yeah. And it's like, and I am a loudmouth and a loudmouth too. Yeah. And I'll pop off and I'll hit you where it hurts. And I don't want to be that person. I don't want to be that person. Yeah. I don't mind when I'm that person because I'm not always that person. So it's, I'm driven to that point. Like it's never like my first instinct. So I don't mind when I do it occasionally. Hmm. I don't know. Yeah. It's not like I'm doing it to an innocent person. I never see it. I wouldn't call you like I don't like you're not a rude person. No, that's what I'm saying. When it happens, it's very rare and it's completely driven to that point where it's like are you kidding me? Like, so I don't feel guilty about it as my point. Yeah. Because it's not who I am. I'm driven it. I'm driven to that point by someone. I never start something like for sure. Yeah. I will tell people though, not in a rude way.
Hey, I like I told that kid to stop kicking my seat on the airplane. How would you say to him? Well, I looked to the crack. I didn't really say it to him. I said to the mom, I was like, can you stop him? He's kicking my seat. I wasn't like me. It was firm, but not mean. Yeah, but some people wouldn't even say anything. Or they would do some passive aggressive, whatever and get more worked up. So I will take care of myself when things are happening and be direct. I guess. But sometimes. An air travel's tough. We're often too hard. Sometimes people have pushed me. Yeah, the last time I could think of getting mad at someone was getting my bag at the airport and no one fucking moves out of your way. Yeah. I don't, it pissed me off because it was like then it's like more dangerous when no one's getting it. I'm trying to get my bag and I was a can you move? Yeah. And she got mad at me, but I didn't give a shit. So I just walked away. I got my bag. Well, let's take a quick break here.

If you explore, search explore. worldwide.com. And don't just travel. Explore. Desi. Yes. Is there anything new that you're watching or reading or listening to this week? New? No. I've just, well, as you mentioned, we got back a few days ago. So I just have not. I've been busy. I had a lot of things to do. Yeah. Because you know when you're gone, you're like, I got to do all these things. Like the end of the month, we always have a ton of stuff to do. Right. Um, and no, I just kind of have been catching up on things. I did finally finish while we were away, the Lizzie Borden series, which is completely
unhinged. It's crazy. Yeah. Um, that's the new Ryan Murphy. And I was catching up on next gen NYC. And yeah, I've actually been really following the big brother stuff because you got me invested now in Taylor. I love that. I love that. I like care about his Taylor. As you should. We want her to win. I'm so, I like follow, I like my threads algorithm is now giving me a lot of big brother. Because I guess I read a bunch of things. So now they're like, oh, you like this. So I very invested now in the thing today I was reading a lot about was how it seems like Drew is starting to get Taylor more or being like, oh, you're cool actually. Yeah. Which is crazy to me. Somebody. I'm sorry. We're going to do a small big brother corner right now. So if you want to fast forward, that's fine.
But I need to talk about this really quickly. When he posted a video clip today from earlier in the season when Angela, the Karen, the Karen final boss was asking Taylor why she doesn't, you know, do more do this or do that or whatever. I don't remember exactly the context of it. But Taylor basically explains to her like, I've tried to game with you guys and I get turned away. And every time I try and form an alliance, it gets blown up. So I just gave up because I'm fucking, I'm feeling beaten down about it. And she was like pouring out her soul to Angela. And I feel like this is a woman who has gotten so much criticism from casual viewers of the show because they think she's doing nothing. But it's like, I've seen the way she's been treated by other house guests and discounted this whole season. She is a black woman. There has been a ton of microaggressions towards her throughout the season. And I'm, I guess I'm not a casual watcher.
I watch the feed. So I see this stuff. I see the stuff that's not edited and stuff in context. And CBS didn't err that like that didn't make the edit, the CBS edit that when she broke down in front of Angela and was like, I'm upset and was explaining herself basically. I'm also happy that Devons is showing his true collars and looking like a total dick. It's kind of crazy because he's been like America's dad the whole season or whatever. He's the edit. Yeah. But this is a 42 year old man who has just who just can't not talk shit about Taylor, who's a 28 year old woman. Right. And it's like, I mean, some people speculate that Drew realize it is realizing how bad it's looking that they're so mean to her when she's been so upset the whole time. Yeah. He's kind of clocking what America is probably thinking about them.
Clocking, but also Drew now by virtue of there being only three house guests left, Drew has no other choice but to hang out with Taylor and he's realizing, oh, she's actually really funny. She's really smart. She's really cool. And she's a sweetheart. Yeah. Like this woman is a sweetheart. She's not mean. I agree. And she hasn't and she's not scary as other house guests have called her. So now my thing is I still want Taylor to win, but I want Devons to not be in the top three. Me too. That's what I want because I feel like at this point now, I wouldn't be as upset Drew winning that I would be Devons. I don't want Devons to win. Yeah. I want him out. I love this. I love this. See, I can only become I like when I once I have people to hate that I'm invested to do it. And there's been so many people to hate the season like from week one. I just I'm always I always hate the good guy who's secretly actually a dick, but he likes
to present himself as this good guy. Yeah. And it's like you, you're a clown. He's a clown. Yeah. Because I've seen now I've read a lot of the stuff that he says. And it's like even when Drew is trying to like kind of push him in the right direction, he like refuses to go. Yeah. As far as Taylor goes, like he's like, oh, come on. And Devons will just like hunker down and be even meaner. Yeah, because him and the other two icons when they were still there, like they would all just like talk shit about people and like especially Taylor. And it was just so weird. It's so weird. Obvious. It was like the thing is is like it just it was exhausting. It's like you guys are just punching down all the time. The whole season. And it's like, well, it's like and she makes a great point. Like if you keep getting shut out and no one wants to do anything with you or like whatever, scheme with you or whatever, there's nothing you can do. Right. Except to try to survive on your own. And she played her own game basically on her own and one of and she and you can't make
people collaborate with you. People were so unbelievably disrespected. She cooked for everyone. She was one of the only house guests who cleaned. And people just treated her like garbage. Yeah. And so difficult. And now I'm concerned that the big brother producers are helping Devons for the third. Oh, I know. That was like a big conspiracy. I don't know. I don't know. That's accurate. Taylor. I watched Taylor late at night last night because sadly the feeds and the and the season's going to be over on Thursday. But I watched her late last night. She was she was working on her hair because she's she's currently taking out her braids right now so she can have like fresh hair for for the finale. And as she was doing that, she was just drilling questions that are going to be like, yeah, suppose it like they don't know. They don't know what they're going to be asked, but she was just drilling and studying and like and now Devons is panicking. Devons is a no shit. And Taylor is locked in. I have faith in her.
Regardless, I do think she has a lot of people supporting her on the outside. And I hope she feels that love when she gets out because she does seem like a really good person. I think she's going to win and be on the top two. And then she just needs to lock in on her speech. Yeah. And lay it out what she actually did. Right. And a way that makes these idiots on the jury get it. Yeah. Like yeah. Because it's like, it's actually harder to move through the game alone than when you have an alliance. So that's actually takes more. It's more of a challenge. Right. And not the built in like advantages that the icons had right off the bat from the auction. Yeah. So I love her. She's my big brother winner. And if anything, I do hope she at least is like in the running for America's favorite player. I mean, even if she gets second place, at least she gets money.
She gets money. And then can she still get America's favorite player? Yes. So she can get both of those. And then hopefully she has a nice little career. Yeah. She could be on the traders, whatever. That's the other thing. Whenever she mentions, like she's mentioned several times about all the other like competition reality show she wants to do. And then behind her back, Devon's indeed would always be like, she'll never get on that. Like she could never do survivor. Could you imagine her yelling at the producers on survivor? It's like yelling. I can't with them. That was so gross. It's like if you could do it, you're an idiot. I can do it. Like how they think they're so fucking smart because they were on survivor. I know. It's so funny. By the way, now that I'm like about to not have big brother anymore, I did watch the first episode of the new season of survivor. Oh. And it was pretty good. Ever is a good show. And I was thinking about like, I should give you a few classic seasons to watch. Please. Because there's some seasons that are just fucking so good.
Okay. Tell me. Because now I have a lot of time on my hands. Yeah. I don't even know what new shows are coming back soon. When's Dexter coming back? That I don't know. It's been a while. Yeah. What is fucking coming out? I haven't even started Salt Lake City. I haven't either because of the first episode. I know. It's so heavy. I just haven't been ready for it. But I do want to get on that. I do want to get into real housewives of New York. The new version which I've never watched. So I don't know if I have to rewatch all the old seasons or what. Cara said in the group chat today that you don't, you can just have the season. She said that. I don't know if I can personally do that because I am always like, I got to know the lore. I need the lore. Yeah. So we'll see. Yeah. I don't know what's coming out that I'm trying about. We're going to try and get Cara to watch Big Brother with us next summer.
Yeah. So next summer we'll all watch it together. Okay. And we're going to have to convince Cara to jump on that train. Yeah. Well, I think she'll do it. Maybe. Yeah. And then maybe we can all pod about it. Yeah. That sounds fun. Okay. Food. Food. What did you eat, Dazzy? What did we eat? Well, let's talk about what we ate in Atlanta. We went to a waffle house, of course. Yes. And what did we have? We had, I had a pecan waffle. We both got hash browns with the onions. Yeah. What's that? Which one is that? It's the smothered hash browns with onions. The onions, damn, the hash browns are so good there. I know. I wish I still, I'm like, I should have got a double. And it's so cheap there. It's fucking cheap as hell, man. We were in Alpharetta. I can't remember the barbecue place we went to, but it was really good. What was that? It was like Jack's something. It was in the cute little town of Alpharetta, like this little downtown area.
And the barbecue was good. The waiter was super sweet. Yeah. And also those colored greens at that barbecue joint were very good. And they got, and I got a corn souffle that was so good. It was just really good. Hot Jack, what was it called? Jack, I don't remember. Jack Link. It was a Jack Link. I don't know. We had Jack in the title, look it up. I went to almost every morning, we were only there a few mornings. I went to Valor Coffee, really great coffee drinks there. Smoke Jack. Smoke Jack. Really good. It was a good barbecue place. Yeah. I mean, obviously there's lots of great barbecue in the South, but I really liked this place. Their sides were good. And then we went to the Busy B, which is an iconic. This was in Atlanta. Atlanta institution. They've won a James Beard Award. Yes. So it was really hot.
We placed our order, walked over to the Walmart, and then walked back to get our food, still waited a bit. It was a long wait, because there was a lot of people. It was Sunday, so everyone's getting their Sunday dinners, I guess. Yeah. We got fried chicken. I got more colored greens, because I love them. Yeah. I got a carrot souffle. They got that. The South, they know what to do. They're puttings and souffle. They're hot savory puttings and souffle. Yeah. They're all good. I'm going to get them all. I need to go on a souffle putting savory binge. I need more of them. They were so good. That carrot souffle was so good. What else did we do? Do we get anything else? I think that was pretty much it in Atlanta. What else did we eat in Atlanta? Did we just like worked the whole time? No, because we had leftovers, and we had a fridge
and a microwave. So we would bring leftovers home and eat them. Well, there was that. We ate so much at Busy B that we were just like a not hungry the rest of the day. Because we ate it like fourish, then we got stuck in traffic from the football game, because we were right by the Atlanta Falcons stadium. Yeah. The truest stadium, I don't know what it was. Yeah, and then we went to Austin, and we had really good fajitas at El Gerado Cafe. Is that what the title was? Once again, we had tons of leftovers, and we had a hotel room with a microwave in fridge. We decided that is like one of our things we have to look for for the hotels we book on the tours. Do they have a microwave here? Right, because we eat out a lot. We always over order, because we're hungry. And then it sucks when we have to throw food away, because sometimes we'll take it back, but we don't have any way to heat it up. So it's sort of just whatever,
depending on what it is, we can't really eat it, but we feel guilty throwing it away. So this was perfect, because we ate those fajitas for like breakfast, lunch. I had like, there were so much food. I love that hotel. That was really good. It was like an extended stay hotel. And I was like, when I have like a little living area, I'm like, ooh, I'm rich. Like even though it wasn't expensive, it was very pretty. You just feel like, wow, it's like an apartment. It had like a full-size fridge, and a microwave and a dishwasher. Yeah, I was crazy. And so we ate those fajitas all day while we work. We were just like, I would hear Rachel wake up at midnight, heat up a fajita. Yeah, they were really good. I was afraid, I was so afraid you were going to hear me like cracking open. No, I would hear you, and then I'd be like, oh, I'm too tired to get up and eat. You know, you're kind of like, I want it, but I don't know if I feel like getting up and dealing with that. Yeah. So we went there. We finally went to Justines.
That's in Austin. That's in Austin. It's kind of like this iconic restaurant. The vibe was definitely, I can see why it's popular. It's open late. It's a French place. It's a French place. We thought it was fine. It was fine. The food was fine. The vibe was cool. I could definitely see, it's a great place to have like a glass of wine and whatever. And you can just tell it was definitely a vibey place. Especially the outdoor area was super cool too. It was really cool, but unfortunately it was still very warm. After that, we went to, what was it called? Doe. Doe. Gordos. Gordos. Yeah. Gordos. This crazy donut place. In Austin, that we went to last time. This year's a problem. We were going to order dessert at Justines. But unfortunately, it was mostly mousse and creme brule type situation. And I feel like I like those things,
but I want something, I wanted something to chew on. Yes. So we were like, we need to find dessert elsewhere. We got like a banana's foster donut, right? Something like that was really good. It was warm. And it was covered in caramel. It was covered in caramel and creme cheese frosting. It was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was a scene, but I, you know, the flavor was good, but I was like, I can't eat that much of this unfortunately. And we also got a Nutella Strawberry with like a cinnamon sugar coating on the donut. It was really good too. We've been there before. We've been there before. It's really, really good. We also went to on our way out. We stopped at another Mexican restaurant that had Mexico City style quesadillas. No, that was recommended by a listener. Yes. And we just had one each.
It was kind of like breakfast almost. I want to go back there because that Mexican. I want to try that Mexican restaurant. Like more of their food. That quesadilla was so good. It was like a blue corn mosa kind of like folded like in an empanada shape. It's like a half moon except it's not like, it's like mosa. And it was stuffed with, we had one that was stuffed with chicken and green chilies and the other one with, with beans and cheese. And we split them and it was so good. Yeah. I didn't love them as much as you did. Why? Because that was fine. I don't like blue corn that much. I would have preferred it if it was a regular corn. I don't like the flavor of blue corn. I love blue corn. Yeah. I honestly don't notice that much of a difference. I do. Really? Yes. I can always tell. It's like, what if I see a blue corn? I'm like, oh, come on. Oh, I get excited. No, I don't. I don't love blue corn. But people have a blue corn tortilla. I'm like, just please.
You know, I love it. I get excited. I don't. I, so that is like always like a, going to be a downer to me. So I did love the chicken filling. I didn't like the bean as much. Oh, I love the bean. I guess too. It was too smoky for me. I'm weird with smoky. I don't like too much smokey. But the chicken I really liked. So I would definitely want to check out that restaurant. And it was a cute place. I liked the place. I bet you the food is really like, when I say I'm being picky, it just wasn't my favorite thing that we had. That was my favorite thing we made on a trip. I do like that restaurant. All the servers were really cool and cute and fun. So I feel like that place is definitely something to go back to. Do you remember what was called? Oh my god. What was it called? The fuck was that? Oh, wait, we have to figure this out. The Mexico City style. I was like, it was on first street. The one on first street. Oh, wait, wait a minute. No, because we have to give them a shout out.
They were so good. I remember there are these margarita shirts. Daynada. Oh, daynada, right? It was called daynada. I was getting confused because the other one was like Derrada. El Derrada. So we went to like very similar. Yeah, we did a lot of text mechs on that trip. We didn't get barbecue. Unfortunately. We did the first time we went to miss it. Yes. That was the first time we went to miss it. Overall, I think the food was good in both cities. We had some good meals and good food, for sure. Oh, I did get my bean club beans. Did you explain this to the listeners on the main feed? I think so. I thought we just talked about this on Patreon. Oh, I don't remember. Well, I joined the big club. Yeah, we only talked about it on Patreon. It's at the top of one of our episodes there. That's funny. So I joined the, what is the bean company? El Gordo. No.
Rancho Gordo is a very famous heirloom bean company. I had been on the wait list to join their bean club. I know. Pretty cool. Pretty cool person. And I got a notification that the wait list had opened. And I had a code where I could join the bean club. Because it's like a limited thing. You have to, you know, you have to get in on that. Now I'm on the wait list. So I joined, because it's a great deal, you get six bags of beans plus one other thing for only like $50 every four months. These beans are like $15 a bag, typically, when you buy them. So that's a great deal. You get heirloom beans, and you get ones that are typically unavailable because they sell out really fast. So it got my beans that they were waiting for me when I got home. How many bags? Six bags of beans. And then one, you get one additional thing that's not a bean, but like a grain or whatever. So what'd you get? I got hibiscus flowers to make like a hibiscus drink.
So what kind of beans did you get? Well, just guess. I got, I got chick, I got chickpeas. I got pinto beans. I got big white lime beans. I got, I don't know, other beans. I don't know. There was ones I've never heard of, like, but you get recipes for each bean. I got some like beans that are more common. I got some two kind of more common beans. And then I got four that I've never heard of. OK. But one is like a type of lime of bean, which is great, because I love lime of beans. So what are you going to make with it? Well, I already made something. I made the pinto beans, because whatever. That's obviously something I know how to make. So I made a really good, like, just pinto beans. I kind of made them soul food style. I put green olives in them, and I had a little bacon in it when I boiled them. Like Cuban? Well, soul food is Puerto Rican.
Oh, Puerto Rican style. Yeah. I mean, the olives are in the soul food version. I don't know if that's traditional, but I really love. The rest are on soul food. Yeah, the restaurant. I thought you were talking about like soul food. Soul food in San Rafael. It's a restaurant in San Rafael. It's a Puerto Rican restaurant. Puerto Rican restaurant. They have really great beans. So I tried to emulate their beans with the pinto beans. They're so good. You know who went to that restaurant? Bad bunny. Bad bunny went to that restaurant. And my mother was texting me. Yeah, that was pretty cool. So I made that, and then I made like the kind of Mexican rice, the tomato-y one, and it was real. It came out really good. Yeah. So I just had... I can never make that rice good on it. I finally made it. And it was real. It came out so good. It came out exactly like I wanted it. And that was also... I looked at a recipe and then I made up my own version. And it came out really good. So I need to remember what I said. So yeah, that's the first thing I've made.
I do have some recipes for the other beans. I do like that they give you recipes for the beans, because like I said, I don't want to just have all stewed beans. I want them to all be different. Well, you have to cook them. Yeah, but you don't have to eat them in a stewie bean thing. You can have them in a salad or like whatever. Do you know what I'm saying? Like I don't want them all to be beans and rice. I want it to be like, oh, this is like a salad with beans and tomatoes and whatever. Or... The one I have that looks really good is... Or I... It's crispy chickpeas, so I cook the chickpeas and make them crispy. And it's like a salad with like preserved lemon and like other stuff. It looks really good though. It has like a lemony dressing. So that sounds like pretty good. So I'm gonna try that maybe. Well, I'm really jealous that I'm not on this bean log. I know. I should come over and we can make some beans. By the way, the stuffed animal that I got at a thrift store
in Austin, a Brendan texted me late one night and he took a picture of it and he said, is this haunted? And I said, don't tell me that because now I have to get rid of it. It's not haunted. It's not haunted. But he was just fucking with me. He's like, is this, he was joking. Yeah. I just wanted to give you an update. It's not haunted. I don't, I didn't think it was, but now I'm just kidding. Well, that's what I told him. I said, you can't, I said, I'm very paranoid about ghosts and things haunting my house. It's not though. No, no. But yeah, I guess do you have any other food? I don't know. I feel like I've just been like, I don't even know. I can't even tell you what I did yesterday, honestly. Yeah, I'm like, I don't know why. We don't have to. This trip was very exhausting for me.
It was hot. I had a great time and I want to reiterate again that I loved so much meeting everybody in Austin and Atlanta. Just physically, I was like not doing so hot at the end of it. Oh, two of our listeners did bring us some really good desserts too. Those were excellent, by the way. I loved those. Do we want to give a shout out? It was Zenev? Yes. I want to also give a shout out to the bakery. It was like Rochelle. Yeah. It was Rochelle Petissier. Petisserie. Petissier. Petissier. But Tissier. They were so good. And they were these beautiful. Beautiful. They were like a pear. It looked like you had a mini pumpkin and a pear because it had the decorative hard coating. And the pumpkin one was a pumpkin cardamom flavor.
And then the pear one was a pear flavor. Yeah. Probably with something else. But they were so good. Right. It had like a cake with a cream and like chopped pears in the middle. And the pumpkin was like a pumpkin, like a light cheesecake-y with a um-space cake. It was really good. You never know what those beautiful desserts. Because sometimes when they're really pretty, it's like they just did all the effort on making them look pretty. But these were pretty and delicious. Yeah. So they were really great. So I want to go back there if we go back to Austin, I would like to go to Rochelle Petisserie. Me too. In Austin. Really good. Okay. Okay. That's it. That's it. I'll be back in a few days for part three. And the final chapter, well, the final installment of Loop Avales. Thank you. What? Fans of this podcast enjoy being expected.
