It's the Lockdown Podcast Network, your team every day. The sharks have to st. Louis in a massive battle when it comes to the tank standings. Your Lockdown Sharks, your daily podcast on the San Jose Sharks, part of the Lockdown Podcast Network, your team every day. Hello, my name is JD Young. On today's episode, we're going to look at around the NHL, what to watch for for tonight. The big storylines, including Ascrow's return in today's game against the Blues. But first, we're going to get to see how the sharks and the Blues match up as a, again, a massive, massive game for the good old tankathon standings. We're back, baby, tankathon standings are back. So let's get started by how these two teams match up.

These sharks, 32, 31 and 6, the St. Louis Blues are at 29, 30 and 11. Sharks goals for per game, 3.03, 18th in the NHL, 3.59 goals allowed, 31st in the NHL. The Blues, 2.61 goals for, 28, 3.16 goals allowed, 23rd. Sharks Powerpoint, 19.9%, 18th, St. Louis Blues, 16.6%, 28th, PK, 78.7%, 17th, and then the Blues, PK is at 75.9, good for 28th. It's all bringing, of course, leads to sharks in all categories, 35 goals, 61, assists 96 total points. Cairo leads the Blues with 17 goals. Thomas leads with 30 assists and 46 total points. This Blues team is not very good, as we know. They'll give up their fair share of expected goals for, and they do a good job of,

sorry, they can create a okayish job at creating offense, but they struggle to actually finish. They do a good job defensively this season of limiting it, but the goal-tending has kind of let them down. The special teams for the Blues are woeful, and it's just been a season where they just have not been able to score, and then, of course, they traded a bunch of players at the trade deadline, and they're also going to be missing some players tonight. Robert Thomas, who, of course, tortured the sharks when these two teams played, the trade deadline, not available for tonight. So, Holloway Divorsky, Snuggaroo, the top line, neighbors, Buchnevich, Cairo, on the second line, Stenberg, Sutter, and Bergerin, and then, Toro Pacinco, Finley Walker, as your forward group, Broberg, Maloo, Mayu, sorry, excuse me, Linsting, Horaco, Fowler, Kessel,

and then Joel Hofer will be getting the net for the St. Louis Blues. So, very young group there, and you're missing the arguably your best player in Robert Thomas, but this team has still kind of found a way to kind of get things done here as of late, as they've gone 7, 1, and 2, and including in their last 10, and including winning their last two games against the Kinect Superbad and Washington, who's also bad, but this is a team that has been playing with a lot of pride, despite the lack of talent on the roster right now. So, as for your sharks, no morning skates today, so these are just based off the lines from yesterday, from the last game, where it was, Cherner Shobb, Celebrity Smith, Eclan Wendberg, Graph, Sherwood, Misa, Regenda, Goudreau, A Subject, Gaudet, or a lot of Klingberg, Mooka Moodle and Ferraro, Dickinson, Day Arenaise.

We do know Asgrove is starting for tonight, so Asgrove, who's been working his way back from his injury, there was much to do about him not playing in the last game, especially when Indelkovich was getting shelled. They were all working towards this moment to get Indelkovich, or to get Asgrove back into the net. So, you know, Asgrove is starting tonight, and as I've listened to today's episode, should get the lion's share of starts here kind of going down the stretch to try to kind of get him ready and get him into, you know, prepared to work on the little things for next season. We do know Tyler Tafoli is in the building and is considered a game time decision, so it'll be interesting to see where he goes in. If I had to guess, probably slides in with Misa, so you probably, you betcha have a Misa, Sherwood, Tafoli line with Regenda coming out, but I do think, you know, Tafoli, interesting to see if he kind of gets in here, or if they let him

kind of recoup for, give him a little bit more rest and try to get him in for Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets, or in a sense, yeah, the Blue Jackets on Saturday. To me, Blue's Blue Jackets here, or, and then maybe actually like get our practice and stuff, try to kind of work his way back, but to follow the veteran, he knows exactly what he's doing here, so we're going to look at the big stories to watch for this game, including yourself Ask Rob in his return to why I think that's, that's the thing to watch the most, as well as take a look at the other rooting interests for the Sharks around the NHL tonight, so we'll get to that in just one second. All right, what two watch-forward tonight's game and a number one is a return of Yarslav who has been out for the past couple of weeks here as March 10th at what's his last time he played.

So it's been a while for asking who's had a very up-and-down season because there are plenty of highs, plenty of lows this season. So his return in how he plays tonight is what I'm most interested in watching is can we get the guy closer to what we saw in November and not kind of what we've seen with a lot of the soft goals and such, especially after the kind of post-Elympics here. So his return in how he plays is the number one thing that I am watching for in this game. So the last time these two teams played, right, the Yarslavs that came in over time to a team that was playing five defensemen and looked like these sharks just kind of looked like they didn't care, slash want to be there, slash just it was just a weird feeling in the game where

the like the sharks outplayed the blues for good chunks of that game but couldn't finish and then they as we've seen multiple, multiple times the shark's team is any mistake becomes a compounding and crucial mistake that ends up in the back of the net. So I do want to see a cleaner game, especially, especially, especially after how they started the preds game, right, where you were very big game, you come out and you lay an absolute egg in the first period, including giving up five goals on seven shots or whatever it was, like let's much cleaner, more competitive start. I think it's a big thing for San Jose. So I'm really curious to see how this team plays here, right? Like they're going to keep fighting, they're going to keep trying to kind of win games and you know, 10 out of the last 13 or whatever they said they have to win to try to get into the playoffs here. But I mean, again, we kind of know and this game has a lot of significance if you're looking

at the tank of on standings here, because if the blues win this game, they'll jump the sharks when it comes to actual points. Now point percentage, but points as the blues are at 69 points right now, very nice. The San Jose sharks are at 70. So if the blues win, that pushes the sharks further up in the draft standings there, when it comes to total points, then it'll be basically Vancouver, the Rangers, Chicago Calgary and San Jose would be, so the sharks would have a top five pick potentially if the season ended now. Still a lot of hockey to go. So I do think the sharks win to be on it. Like they're not going to lose, you know, 18 in a row, whatever would be to kind of go lose out here and not having Robert Thomas is a massive massive blow for the blues here. So and this this team does play them one more time this season, but I know the blues have been playing

really well. I know the sharks have been playing like man, but these are just two bad teams going at it. And I'm at some point like the sharks are going to break this this losing streak here. So I do think they win. I think it's like a three to two kind of ugly game here, but I think the sharks win this in a very close one. So as for what else to watch tonight, if you're very much again into the tankathon standings here, the major games tonight for San Jose, right, is San Jose Blues. That's a big time one there. We're also keeping an eye on Anaheim Calgary. If Calgary can win that game. And then you're also rooting for of course, you're rooting for Vegas over Edmonton for Vegas for Edmonton's draft pick to get better for San Jose, as well as just keeping an eye

on the Chicago Flyers game as well. So so a lot of points that the sharks have to kind of fall or climb or whatever you want to put to kind of get back in that. So if I like top three top like top four to swap, but those are kind of the games that we're keeping an eye on here as we shift to to tank mode and shift to the draft. So he said, I do expect the sharks win. It's going to be, I think this is an ugly game though. So we'll be back tonight though to break down this game.
