Manhunt for Escaped Immigration Detainee in Western Sydney

0:00It's April 9th. This is Sydney News Today, AI-powered stories from your city. I'm Cory with the story. Police and Western Sydney are hunting for a 30-year-old immigration detainee named Michael Angok, who bolted from custody. A big search kicked off right away, with cops and special teams sweeping the area around where he was last spotted. Angok used to live in the Blacktown neighborhood, so he might be heading that way or hopping on public transport to blend in. Officers found some of his personal stuff ditched on Gallipoli Road, but no trace of the guy himself. If he spotted dude in a black-hooded jumper, gray tracksuit pants, and white crock-style sandals, stay back and hit triple-zero cops. Lead eyes on ground to wrap this up quick.
