This podcast is supported by your Southern California Kia dealers. It's hard not to notice how many electric vehicles are on the 405, 101 and 10 freeways these days. Better technology, convenient charging and longer driving range are making the switch to electric more practical than ever. Kia offers three all-electric models that combine performance, technology and capability. With compatible DC fast chargers, they can charge to 80% in less than 30 minutes, making it easier to get back on the road. One model that really stands out is the 2026 Kia EV9. It's an all-electric SUV with three rows of seating over 300 miles of all-electric driving range and the capability and technology you'd expect from a modern SUV. Whether it's your daily commute to Burbank or a weekend drive to Ohio, the EV9 is built to fit the way you live. If you're ready to make the move to electric, Kia has an EV designed to fit your needs.

A conversation. A deadline.

Something you forgot. Something you wish you had done differently. A face. A worry. A sentence someone said that somehow stayed longer than the person who said it. Maybe your body has stopped for the day, but some part of you has not. So tonight we're not going to fix anything. We are simply going to let the day leave. Find a position that asks very little of you. Let your hands rest. Let your shoulders fall naturally.

You don't need perfect posture. You don't need a special breathing technique. You don't need to become calm. Just notice that you are here. And the day. The day is behind you. Take a comfortable breath in. And let it go. Again, breathe in. And slowly out. Notice something simple. The breath that just left your body.

Didn't need to be held onto. You received it. It served you. And then you released it. Perhaps a day can be like that too. Think back to this morning. Not in detail. Just remember that there was a morning. Perhaps an alarm. Sunlight itching your face. Or the room. Coffee. Traffic.

Messages waiting. A familiar voice. Whatever it was, that morning is gone now. You don't need to recreate it. You don't need to preserve it. It came. You lived it. And it left. Then came the middle of the day. Things happened. Some expected. Some not. Maybe you did something well. Maybe you didn't. Maybe someone disappointed you. Maybe you disappointed yourself. Maybe nothing particularly memorable happened at all. And still, the hours passed.

Now here you are. At the other side of them. Imagine the day as something you have been carrying. Perhaps a bag you've had over your shoulder since this morning. Inside it are all the little things you've collected. We unfinished task. Make it out. Set it down. The conversation you're replaying. Take that out too. Set it down. Something embarrassing, something frustrating, something you wish you could redo.

You can place it beside the others. You aren't denying that it happened. You're simply choosing not to carry it into sleep. Now perhaps there's something good in the bag. A small victory. A laugh. A delicious meal. Someone checking on you, something beautiful you noticed. Take that out too. Look at it for a moment. You don't have to cling to good things either. Appreciate them. And let them belong to the day in which they happened. We often think letting go means deciding that something doesn't matter. But perhaps letting go means something much simpler.

It mattered. And now it is over. There are things from today that may require your attention tomorrow. They will still be there. Resting tonight does not erase responsibility. It prepares you to meet it again with a different mind. Tonight's tired mind doesn't have to solve tomorrow's problems. And if there is something you cannot change, something someone said, something already decided, something already done. Notice how strange it is that the event may have ended hours ago if the mind can keep producing new versions of it. Another argument, another response, another ending.

You don't have to attend every performance your mind puts on. You can simply notice. There it is again and let the curtain fall. Take another slow breath. As you breathe out, soften your forehead. Another breath. Let your jaw loosen. Another, allow your shoulders to become heavy. Let your hands become quiet. Let your legs rest. You have spent enough energy moving through the world today.

For these next few moments, nothing needs to move. Perhaps someone misunderstood you today. You don't have to correct them tonight. Perhaps someone is unhappy with you. You don't have to repair everything tonight. Perhaps you made a mistake. You don't have to put yourself on trial tonight. Perhaps you don't know what comes next. You don't have to know tonight. The day has already happened and you don't have to keep. Happening with it. Imagine standing at the edge of a quiet river. Nothing dramatic.

Just water moving past you. One by one. Allow moments from today to drift by. No judgment. No analysis. Morning. Passing. Afternoon. Passing. Basis. Passing. Words. Passing. Things you wish had gone differently. Passing. Things you are glad happened. Passing. It's just that you remain. The day moves. You remain. Thoughts move. You remain.

Feelings rise. Change. And move. You remain. And perhaps that is enough for tonight. You don't need to end the day perfectly. You only need to allow it to end. Tomorrow will ask something new of you. But tomorrow isn't here yet. This moment belongs to neither yesterday nor tomorrow. It is simply this small space between doing and dreaming. Between carrying and putting down. To put down what you can. Forgive what you can. Leave unanswered what can remain unanswered. And whatever cannot be resolved tonight. Let the night hold it for a while.

Take one final easy breath in. And release it. Nothing to hold. Nothing to force. But they came. You met it as you were. And now. That it leave you. Rest well, my friend.
