Alright, this is great. We had the Craig cam for like four minutes. It's already broken. So we have three left and we're going to talk about a movie that came out in 2009 that Van Lathen loves. Love. I threw it at him and I said, Dan, just curious, do you like law abiding citizen? You made it seem like this is one of your favorite movies. It's one of my favorite theater-going experiences I've ever had. What happened? Because so go to the arc light, so many memories at the arc light and you're expecting a movie that's what was the movie with Ben Affleck and Samuel Jackson changing land changing land. I like that movie. So you're expecting something like that, right? Although you see explosions and stuff in the trailer, you're expecting something that's a little bit more grounded. And then you go to the movie and right off the bat, people in the theater are like, what the fuck is happening? Brutal, surprising, absurd in the best way. Everyone in the thing. Oh my god, what? Dude's like, what the hell, bro? And since then I've had a love affair

with the movie where I watch it every time it comes on TV, the vigilante movie, the 1970s tradition. Craig's least favorite rewatchable we ever did was Death Wish. That's a thought. Really genuinely hated it. Because the sexual assault scene in Death Wish is about as grim as it gets. Well, you thought it was about as grim, but you never saw Death Wish too, which was as grim as it gets. That's the nadir of all these. But we had in the 70s walking tall, we'd Death Wish, Foxy Brown. That was a good one. We had a lot of good ones in the 70s. And then they kept kind of making them and trying to figure it out, but it kind of died. And then the revenge stuff got more sanitized. It turned into like, take it and things like that. From a law-abiding citizen, it goes back to the old days of, this is kind of like peak 2000s revenge porn. I feel like Bangkokrag did enjoy this because. Oh, that's correct. I was upset the way Denzel killed Idris Elba. It wasn't enough. This movie gives you everything you want and more in terms of getting revenge. And going the full nine yards. Yeah, because the revenge thing kind of shifted toward

like John Wick territory or taken where this group of people did something to me. We rarely have the, I am going to actually make a real statement about our legal system and take out the entire city of Philadelphia, basically. So I have a list coming up of that kind of explores this, but like the visual any movies of the 70s and the 80s seem to be directly against like street crime. Like they're going against street crime. And it's like kind of racist. Yeah, yeah, it's going to kind of feel it. Well, whoever the criminals of the day were, that's what they're going to. It's like independent actors essentially of crime. Right. Not a system. Then that's what happens. Later on, people start to rage at like a whole system and those are the revenge movies that you get even like a movie like falling down, which isn't necessarily a visual any movie, but it's a off fucking had enough of this culture movie like us nap the now I'm going. They kind of became a little bit more elevated. You had to do more in grand torino is another one. There's another one. Yeah, they've tried to make versions of this movie like Jennifer Garner made peppermint. I never saw that. It's bad. But it was one of those

like I think her daughter got killed and she was mad at the legal system did her wrong. So she started taking what's the best one with the lady? What's the best late because Jody Foster made one. Right. That was essentially death wish like wasn't good. Yeah. Like what's the best one with the lady where Jennifer Lopez enough is that's against one guy. So I had sleeping with the enemy though. I had enough where it was like sleeping with the enemy rip off. But basically her trying to figure out, okay, if this guy comes at me again, I kind of like enough. Well, I like enough. I like enough because sleeping with the enemy she uses all of her gala with while in enough. She becomes like a MMA fighter. Right. And they see the enemy. She's in danger the entire movie. Right. Enough like I'm actually going to train to be someone. It comes out of you. Yeah, it's good. She looks good. That movie too. The four essentials for a vigilante movie. Our hero was driven to this. Our hero is broken. Our hero might have to cross a couple lines.

By the end of the movie, not even sure if our hero is a good guy anymore. He might be just completely gone. Way too far. Yeah. That's usually when they really work, that's the best for you're like, oh man, I was rooting for this guy. This guy dark. Yeah, it's like the moral ambiguity. It feels like a part of it. And this movie, I can't wait to talk about the end because I think it's it's the most fascinating part of the movie is what they decided to do with the two characters at the end. Also, see Craig thought he wasn't going to talk too much on the part. I'm not prepared. Let's fucking guess. He's in the game and get some shots up. What's up with you? I'm back. I gotta tell you about Craig Horovak. He just comes in one minute, one minute notice. He's right in the third chair. She was a high percentage. You mentioned that's what CR was going to be on this Philadelphia movie. Never saw it. Yeah. Yeah. What an unbelievable miss by CR. It's Philadelphia action. Filly. Like also weird CIA government type train killer type dude. The kind of guys that he likes Delta four special forces lying this type shit. I was honestly devastated.

One more thing about the visual Annie movie. Yeah. Our hero kind of becomes what he was fighting against. It comes with a despise killer of innocence. Yeah. It comes that to catch a predator. You have to become a predator. That was the old out of Krolyjok to catch a predator. You have to become a predator. Gerard Butler said there was one specific criminologist who had written a great paper on serial killers, especially revenge killers. I guess it's its own phylum. He'd gone very much into the obsessive nature of this, but the rewards and how somebody who gets into it can get really carried away in a really egotistical way and enjoy hugely the power they get from its cathartic. Yeah. Well, you're almost feeling the most in this movie. You'd almost have to, right? Because your belief in the system has to come from this fundamental belief and what should be right and wrong. And that almost always comes from you and the way that you look at the world. This particular guy has been out on ops for the government. By the way, man, vet the motherfucker. You don't want to

learn that the guy that you're fucking with is a secret CIA murder killer, right? Too fucking accent to the film. He's effectively Kaiser Sozeh. Yeah. And they just have no idea the entire time. So to mention we were to go into what you talked about earlier. I wrote down, yeah, he's to talk about Russell Westbrook all the time. And now he would bring all of these things to the table, but then take something off the table. And every basketball part does this. But Westbrook was the one you noticed at the most. Or it was like, oh, he did all these good things. But man, if you didn't do that. So he's called the 90 10 guy 90% brought to the table 10% took off the table. But you really felt his 10%. This movie, the ending is the 10%. I don't like it. But I kind of like watching it and getting mad how they fucked it up. I feel like they were so close to an awesome movie. And then they kind of kind of copped out, Vance. So why would they ran out of smart?

They ran out of smart. A lot of scripts. They have a brilliant conceit, propulsive action. Great. And then they just run out of smart. It gets to a point to where you don't have that next thing that next turn that makes the movie brilliant. It's the closer. Yeah. You have 44 minutes of the NBA game. But now it's crunch time. I need to run some plays for my best guy. They just couldn't do it. It just feels like it got Hollywood into death a little bit. I think I think the movie would have been better if it was a fight club ending. If it just like he kept going and everything and he did blow up the town hall. But I would imagine that they test screen that or the studio making the movie was like, we just can't do that. We have to have a little bit of research on this. There was like a urban legend that Jamie Foxx made them Hollywood up the ending. And I don't think that's true. I think they really just wanted Fox to be the good guy at the end. I think it was a huge mistake. But actually, the good guy in the end, like I know.

Well, that's the thing. I don't think they established enough that he was a good guy to make me feel happy at the recital at the end. It's like, oh man, he made it because I don't really like the character. He's one of the worst, most annoying characters I've ever watched in a movie this much. Hey, them. Absolutely. So how much is it is how I was written and how much of it was the Fox performance? Because I don't think it's weird that he's the weak link of a movie where we have two stars. Right. But I don't think he ever figured out what his character, if his character was a good guy or not. I think it's in the script though. Yeah. I don't know that they ever give Jamie enough to do or enough of a point of view in this movie. He's so reactive to everything. The only thing they give him, they give him this face. Yeah. Right. The only thing that he knows is that he's the most important thing, which is a shitty way to do a character. Meanwhile, his foil is legitimately holding the system accountable for not avenging the murder of his wife and daughter. They don't stand to start out with the same moral stakes at all. Yeah. Butler kills him in this

movie. Like this is an incredible Butler performance. But with Fox, so we really give this a word out and it's a relative of a reason one, but the clearance worldly should have died at the end of word for biggest cop out of an ending. How should this movie have ended? Because it's a really fun part of about why it's rewatchable. Because every time I watch it, my mind goes into like all they should have done this or they should have done that. My guess is Butler should have known the whole time that Fox was going to know that he had the cell. And when Fox thought he had the way to one up him, Butler then had an extra move on top of that move. And like blue Fox up in the cell and got away. He's just like, or or got out of the cell. They thought he blew up in the cell but he didn't. Or like he makes Fox make a decision where he's like, I knew you would know the briefcase was there. So I had a second briefcase. So you can either kill the two of us or kill town hall. Right, right. Chess moves it. And Fox kills himself and Butler and Fox has to die. Yeah.

Okay. So I think Fox has to die. He's outside of the two murderers who deserve to die. Fox is the other person who, I mean, Butler kills everyone else around Fox. But Fox is really the one who's most to blame outside of the two murderers. So here's the thing. The movie early on would have had to make a decision about what it was doing. You take the murderer off the table early. So anyone else that he holds accountable now is going to be like ancillary to that. Anyone else that he holds accountable are just going to be people in the system. By the act rationale Fox has to die. What I would say is, but this is seven though, where Gwyneth Paltrow's spoiler has to be the seventh murder. You can't be like, ah, we can't do that. That's we'll just do sex. And then the movie dies. It's a good point because this movie does feel like a bad David Fincher film. Yeah. But see, but in that movie though, John Doe comes from outside of our two main leads. Yeah. So he just acts as a chaos agent. In this one, both guys stand for something. And if you kill Jamie Foxe, then you're almost

validating the fact that this dude killed all of these people to get back at the system. Or he blows both of them up. And that's how that's both. I think Fox has to die. There's another way this could have gone though. And every time I watch it, I always wonder if they entertain this. So he's in the recital at the end. They throw in this scene. That's like, hey, just one more scene just to case the audience doesn't think he's a good guy where he's emotional watching his daughter. But he's got the tie on. And I always wondered like because we saw him do this earlier with the with the bad guy with the phone, where he's holding the phone. But it has like whatever those poisons in it. We're in the system. And Fox has the tie. And I always wonder if he touches the tie. And then it zooms in on the tie. And there's all these poisons on the tie. We are fucking killed. Because they tease the tie thing, right? Because the guy says the tie. His colleague is like, oh, he invented this tie that strangled a man. Yeah. This guy and the guy in the tunnel. And so they set that up. And I almost wonder if they had decided that was how it's going to end

and they chickened out. It just felt like this whole movie was the Dan Campbell, Hail Mary, fuck it going forward on fourth down. And it feels like the movie went forward on fourth down the entire movie. And then at the very end, they kick a field. Right? Good way to put it. Great way to put it. So how would you have ended it? Well, for me, I think the ending has to be litigated like earlier in the script. The moment that he kills the Selmae, the moment that he kills the Selmae, you know, Jarar Butler is out of there. Because he's now leaving such a trail of carnage behind him. Yeah. But I think Jarar Butler at the end would have had to die for something. Or he would have had to make the altruistic decision to not do the terrible thing and give his life up. If he leaves and decides to blow himself up on his own, I think that's an ending that would have suffice. But he went through it then and then Jamie who was dumb as fucking rocks throughout the entire. He wrote his movie. It's a bucket's promoter to do as rocks throughout the whole movie ends up outsmarting

the CIA badass. It kind of doesn't make any sense. Where do you stand on Jarar Butler? Just I don't have a worm. Yeah. Well, yeah. Kind of. He's in the Jason Statham camp of like he's the guy doing his own thing. It's like the two of them are in their own doing their own thing lane. And it's successful when people like it. But I feel like Jarar Butler is not kind of in the mainstream public consciousness. I'm not going to say my take it, but I'm higher on him than that. Where are you? So I he's one of the guys to me that settled into something that I didn't think he was going to settle into. After 300 came out, I thought Jarar Butler was going to be Bill Gibson. I thought he was going to be that for Russell Crowe. Yeah. He yeah. I completely agree. That level of guy. He comes back in a movie that like wasn't well regarded, but I love Rock and Rolla, the guy richy movie. And he does a couple of things is like this guy has something and then it's gonna give you 20 plus years. Mid 2000's Phantom of the Opera and 300. Now he's like you're looking at him like a lottery pick. Like he's I don't know like Drake may

write down or somebody. 0709 kind of get sucked into the rom comes. That terrible fucking gay way to get back week one. Come on. He does PSI love you with Hillary Swank. He tried it. Yeah. Not on the rewatch was less the ugly truth with Catherine Hagel also terrible. 09 and 10. He does law abiding citizen in the bounty hunter with Aniston. And they kind of tried to pretend they're maybe together, but who knows. 12 and 13 does Chacey Mavericks and Olympus is falling. Chacey Mavericks is one of my wife's favorite movies of the last 15 years. We love it. Absolutely loves it. Watches it all the time. And Olympus is falling. I ran up it going against Jamie Foxx and White House down to White House invasion movies basically. Denetheves 2018. Yeah. Greenland and Plane mostly settled into like action romcom. I just felt like there's a lot more there for him. Well, he settled into the mid-level action movie. He settled into being one of the guys who you see him in movies and the movies are better than

you think that they are. Denetheves is the perfect example. He's completely overqualified to be big dick neck and in Denetheves. And that's one of the reasons it's really good. He's too good to be in it. I thought that was more there. Oh, it's like some Scottish guy. I think he's aged in a way where it seems like he's had some hard days and hard nights. Yeah. He's had a few. Did you watch Greenland? I actually never saw Greenland. You like it? It's good. Yeah. Because they made a sequel. Yeah. Most of them. Greenland, the sequel is very, very bad. But like I got to watch it. I'm going to watch it. If you watch Greenland, it's not what you think it is. It's good. Foxx had a collateral on Ray back to back. Wednesday Oscar for Ray. Falls that up with stealth and jarhead in Miami Vice and Dreamgirls in the Kingdom. By the way, 2000 season, the soloist, law abiding citizen. He's in Valentine's Day. Kind of never never figured out how to leverage the Oscar into big ass movies. And this was one of the last stands for him for Jamie's delete of a movie.

And it's going to make a hundred million dollars. And then I think it started to tip down. I don't think he ever really figured out what lane to go to. Right. He never lost the Jamie Foxxness of it. Which is whenever you see Jamie Foxx in a movie, you're like, oh, man, it's Jamie Foxx. Like, I was watching this movie. And then I watched horrible bosses and he just. Another good one for him. He just adds so much to horrible bosses in the little bit that he's in the movie. Yeah. So a lot of actors act themselves out of their celebrity. They act themselves out of you caring that they're in the movie. He never did that. But he never actually then became the guy that you build a whole movie franchise around or something like that. I was like, he was better as the second guy. Like he was kind of overqualified. You know, even in Miami Vice, which he barely says anything. But he's got so much charisma in that movie collateral. He's great playing off crews. And I was like, when he was in that thing. But I don't. I almost feel like he would have been better off doing like a true detective season two, season three or, you know, some sort of prestige TV thing. It's surprising how quiet the last

10 years of his career has been. I feel like he has everything. I feel like he's got looks. He's got charisma. He's a good actor. He can actually like become characters. And there hasn't been a ton. The thing that everybody loves him. The thing is that he does so much. He's funny. Yeah. He does so much that it's never really quiet because when you don't see Jamie on screen, you see Jamie on stage. When I was you don't see Jamie on stage, you see him on television as a television host. He's one of those like five tool people that's just like almost ubiquitous in culture. Yeah. You don't think of the fact that damn, it's been a while since I saw the Jamie Fox movie. You don't think about it because you're always seeing Jamie Foxx. You can get entertainment from so many different places. Yeah. And I think sometimes you can just have too many choices. It's like he was almost too good at too many different things. Like he's also one of the great talk show podcast guests ever. Yeah. Um, he could host anything. He's so curious. Man, he's really funny. He's he's great at impressions. Yeah. He also had like he had Fox whole radio, which was like that was hysterical. So even if you are not getting your entertainment from Jamie in

the movies, you're going to get it from somewhere. So you don't think about the any one thing that you're not the way that you're not getting it. So was it tough for you and if you did it? Like what side were you on? Do you feel like you were both sides? Yeah. Were you on the side of Diddy or Jamie Foxx? When was the Jamie Foxx Diddy feed off you? I don't remember how you talk about like after the day. Yeah. Look at you trying to get a little spicy at the beginning of the day. Why not? I'm not a fan of Foxx at this point. At this point, it would be hard to be on Diddy's side with fucking anything. Right? That's the tough for you. Shut the hell out, man. Okay, Bill, you want to start going back? I could throw some jokes. Oh, sorry. I could have been fucking in the podcast. This movie was directed by F. Gary Gray, right? Who we just did another F. Gary Gray movie. What how many weeks ago? Yeah, what was it? It was telling a telling job. Yeah, F. Gary Gray telling job. You know what I like? F. Gary Gray. You do. I like it. I think his movies have like a splashy style to them. It's a little like a discount

Michael Bay. Not over the top like Michael Bay is, but same kind of just you feel him. Good explosions. Good good music in the right spots. I enjoy what he does. He's still and cool. Yeah. He's trying some stuff. Yeah, it's not playing. Good director. Yeah. Ridden by Kurt Wimmer. We have people like Bruce McGill and calm Meanie. I think I said his name correctly. He's another Scottish guy. Leslie Bibb. Regina Hall is the wife with really no role at all in the movie. Just a couple of lines. 53 million dollar budget made 127.9 million dollars. Pretty good. Yeah, it's good. I somehow didn't see this in the theater. I don't know what was going on with me. Yeah, this was the R-line phase where it's just going to see. I was just like making it. Yeah, this was right in my willhouse. I didn't want to go see this in the theater. And it was interesting because both of these guys were kind of still in their assances. We were still kind of in the Jamie Assance. We were definitely in the Butler Assance. So it was like putting these guys together. I was like, where did it go? Cook up? Well, because this was his this was Gerard Butler's first movie after 300.

No, he didn't come around. But it was like that he's going to have a moment right now. Sure. I don't know who is Gerard Butler right now. I mean, sleep. You mean, no, I'm saying like a younger version early 30s mid 30s people want it to happen. They really don't have any Gerard Butler's right now because the guys are guys right now. The grizzled white boy of that age is not around like the the rest of the world. I'm pretty or now. Everybody's a little prettier now. You can't say Glenn Powell because Glenn Powell is not really the same body. He's going for the Tom Cruise thing. Yeah, it's funny because I was thinking for recasting if this movie was 2026, MBJ would clearly be the lawyer. And then I was trying to think who would be Butler and I was trying to workshop like Glenn Powell as the guy and I was like, I just think he's too likeable. You need to see. You need to see. He's like a Bartlett has like a little bit of a dark side where you feel like some bad shits happen on 20 years ago. Yeah, you like Glenn almost went for that in a running man. It didn't really work. It didn't work. It's more you just want to hang with them.

Very shocking. Did an interesting point though that like we don't have a lot of like gruff male up and coming stars like that now. It's two buckets that are missing. Number one, the this might sound stupid, but like the 3035 year old 40 year old like really Italian American star that like does like the mouth like the the narrowed the down for now like those guys like that. And then you also don't have the man's man guy. I thought that mouse teller always thought that mouse teller would like kind of jump into that that mouse teller kind of brought that but kind of when he got jacked and top gun memory. Yeah, because basically you're saying the guy who could play a cop in a buddy movie. A guy who could play this guy in law abiding citizen and a guy who could be in a romcom. So I'm so for the romco. So it's three you have to be able to have those three moves. Yeah, someone where when you see them in prison and they're ripped and they're beating the shit out of somebody you believe it. Brad Pitt would have been awesome in this movie. Right. And there's that we're not making like Brad Pitt's in the same way. Brad Pitt also

he's so pretty though and his star brings so much. But he can do his ugly Brad Pitt. He can, but he would have elevated this movie to a point to where you'd have to bring in Mars. Of course, it's easy to direct this bitch. Like he would have it's like Brad Pitt's version of this movie is way way up the escalator. I like your idea that this was kind of a discount fixture movie. Yeah. Like if he went bankrupt, if you'd been in the birdie made off thing and he'd needed a job. Yeah. I'm like, all right, I'll do love. I'll make love by the citizen cool. Because there's a couple moments that are pretty smart in this movie. But overall, it's not as like as it thinks it is. It's just like this. I just think the script isn't as good as it could be to actually get to that point where you're like, wow, this is a feature level kind of action. Well, like the game is like this, right? The game landed the ending. Yes. This is just not quite like the dialogue is just not quite there to be an elevated movie. But the thing about the game though is that movie is a little too smart for some people. Like some people that feel like that movie is a little high concept. It's

like a riddle. Yeah. This film didn't want to be too smart for people, but it also didn't want to be too dumb for them. Yeah. So it eliminated everybody. Is it Austin Butler? I know he's kind of he can kind of play it both ways. A little bit, but like not still we'll see, maybe we'll see. I never know because you never would have told me I never would have believed Keanu could have been four John Wicks. Right. Never saw that at any point in his career that that that art could happen. So sometimes people can surprise you. This surprised me. Ebert three stars. Like it. He wrote love-biting citizen is one of those movies you like more at the time than in retrospect. I mean, come on, you're thinking still there's something to be said for a movie you like well enough at the time. So I think he had a good time at the art light. I think he probably did. I would expect that. Now, did he write that then or did you have a right a couple of days ago? You know I'm going to get you back. Are you a true through with this? Oh, he can't make fun of you now. I can't make fun of you now. My Roger Ebert character that I

created. There's very few movies are like like to Roger Ebert's point about in the moment. The second I finished this movie, I did just go into the bedroom and I was like, Liz, I got to tell you about this movie for like 16 minutes. I just described the whole movie to her. That's the type of movie that it is. Like somebody actually said that in another review that I read someone said, is the type of movie that like right after you come out of it, you're going to be like, I fucking loved it. But then you're going to sit with the four-year-old. Yeah, wait a minute. Yeah, I watched it with my wife and Ben because Ben had never seen it and Ben really liked it. My wife was like, this is terrible. I can't believe I'm bad. This is what the hell is going on. And then when Leslie Bibbs carburelup, she was like, wow. I was like, oh, you're it. You got second. We're going to take a break and then we're going to do rewatchables. For adults with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis symptoms, every choice matters. I had a surprising amount of them. Jamie Foxx's character meets Clyde. Why didn't you want to try the case? I did not put in the opening scene as a rewatchable scene. That's it. That's a brutal. Foxx didn't want to try the case. Home invasion. Murdered little girl rape. Not interested. Just wants to plea bargain this thing. What's going on? What happened to DNA evidence? Oh, it wasn't admissible. It wasn't you have a witness? You have you have I'm sure all kinds of fluids and blood. This what how is this case? They're a criminal crazy picking. This is beyond a picking. But this is this is he's explaining and I'm like, what you can't try the case. You have a eyewitness. You have DNA. He's like, you

black down. You can't be that you this is one of this is one of the most detestable scenes. Yes. In a movie that I love because he is sitting down here telling this man who has been through hell and back. Yeah. Why he can't get him justice. This guy watched his wave get raped and his daughter get killed. They say, yeah, yeah, we're just going to play back. This is a victory. What the thing you talking about? Get the fuck out of my face. He shakes his hand. Yeah. Are there not fluids? DNA fingernails? Hair wouldn't it be everywhere? Right. It's not what you know, Clyde. It's what you can prove in court. Well, you have a witness and evidence like, well, I was right there when they broke in. And he's come back. And he said that's this is just the justice system works. This is a victory for us. After this scene, you're like, I want this guy to kill everybody and Bob. I don't know if I'm a dark person, but my next rewatchable scene is the lethal injection scene gone wrong. It's a good thing. It's a good scene. And in general, like lethal injection movie scenes,

you always feel like it's never going to go seem something weird. It's always going to happen. It feels like I don't think I've ever seen a lethal injection scene. I was I was kind of morbidly curious about how it went. I actually had no real sense of how it would go. Is it do people do like 10 people go watch it? Yeah, they do. Really? Some of the police people and then some of the victims families and stuff like that, they will check out. Why do the police need to be there? I guess to make sure it happens. I don't know. They worked the case. I don't know. I just find a fascinating that like Jamie Foxx is like, Hey, Leslie Biff, let's go watch this. Like, why did she need to see that? It's even better. He missed his daughter's violin recital. I got to go. Bro, this is the thing. This guy sucks, bro. This guy's this the thing. We're going back and forth from a cello recital with his daughter to him choosing to go watch somebody get fucking executed for no reason. Don't have to be there for no reason whatsoever. He's like, sorry, baby. I got to go. You know, I'm busy. This is one of my favorite tropes and movies when we did a Floyd award later. Yeah. Like something traumatic has to happen for a guy like be a father

to care about his life. I didn't want to go to my kids little league game until after the terrorist attack. Yeah. Like now 25 innocent civilians get hurt. I think you see him going. Yeah. I can fix it. I'm a human being. Right. Darby finally goes down as our next rewatchable scene. Perfectly executed by Clyde. He have a feeling he's doing it, especially when there's like, there's a cop who's passed out or not, whatever. But he plays this, uh, fantastically great cameo by Darby's, I guess, sidepiece. Just slumped on the ground and get up. Could it be grosser? Is every respect? Why is she illegal? By the way, he goes, you're fucked. Don't want the table. Bitch on the ground. I'm like, why is she illegal? You can't he came fucked? Yeah. Is that one of the terms of his bro? Darby goes and then, uh, the gun reveal. So good. Now we've never seen that in a movie. Now we in the shit. Yeah. The moment because they don't do the thing where they try to hide that is him. You could see that is him. Yeah. So you know that

the surprise is coming somewhere else. So it's got to be a pretty good surprise. So when he shoots the gun and the barbs come out now the movie has fucking started. Tetra Detoxin founded pufferfish that black nerfed singles by binding to voltage gated sodium channels. Who figured that out? Yeah, what was the trail? How did they get in there? I'm surprised. Bella checked that he used it on the footballs. Patriots. I look at it's real. Yeah. Paralyzes you, but you still feel pain. I'm like, how the fuck did they think about the pufferfish probably hit a couple people? Sure. Or animal and they were like some sick fuck. We could take what the pufferfish does and do it to a person. It's the only thing missing in downtown LA right now or some pufferfish. Clyde pretending to confess to Jamie Foxx's character. What's his nick? Nick. Clyde pretending to confess to Nick. But doesn't actually confess, which weirdly this movie is a totally watchful.

When you're rewatching it and you watch how he does the dialogue and he's nodding, but he's not confessing. So he's like, yeah, I did dream about potentially murdering, but he doesn't actually admit that he murdered Foxx's so stupid he falls for it. So here's the deal. I feel like a smarter movie lets that whole scene play out. Then all of these things start happening. I totally agree. And then they come back to that and he goes, well, did I actually confess? Yeah. Instead, he's like, he does his whole spiel. And then literally five seconds, goodbyes. Like, you see what I did? They're Nick. Like, right away, yeah. Right away. After he does the whole dance, he tells him that he did it really mean it and he doesn't have anything on them. It's just too straight. This is where it's like discount fincher because in fincher, it'd be like an hour later. Yeah. Yeah. Session would come back and they're dropping a coffee. They're listening to the tape and they're like, oh, he actually never actually never or somebody else tells him. He's like, I got the guy confession. He goes, what'd you get, Nick? What the fuck did you get? The guy never says anything.

And then like, that happens later on and it spurns on the third. Well, then he got that set stuff talking to the judge, which I see now. I love because he says the title of the movie. Your honor. I'm a law abiding citizen. Boom. Um, but then he gets mad at her. He goes, you're about to let me go. Are you fucking kidding me? You're like, oh, cause her bitch. She gets, she starts banging the gavle. You probably take it in the ass. I'll bro. That's fucking hysterical. That should not be funny. I believe it's like you fucking bitch. You probably take a guess. You like, what's wrong with that? She can do that if she wants. Why are you judging her? Why are you judging her? Judging the judge. Next scene might be my, my pick. Um, fight. That's so funny. He's so mad, bro. Fucking bitch. You probably take a guess. I'm sorry. It's a father. I got a drink. It's so

fucked up. Well, we're now in the jail cell. He's ordering from Del Frisco, steakhouse and his new mattress with his big burly, uh, cellmate and is just eating a steak as he said in these dudes up. He had a spork. Yeah. Which then he proceeds to stab this dude 20 times. And Bangkok Craig loved this thing. Well, it's not, he makes a shit out of the bone in the steak. That's what he's actually. I thought it was the sport. No, no, no, no. He's not one of the steak because he knows he can make a shit out of the bone. How did I miss this when I've seen this movie nine times? I'm a stupidest, Jimmy Fox character. I thought it was the sport. Oh, yeah. No, no, no. He, uh, he used the bone. That's part of like how ingenious he is. That's why he orders the steak so he can get the bone. And he's like ripping off the meat to give to the guy, but he's keeping the bone. Well, he stabs the guy 20 times so that blood goes absolutely everywhere. And he's playing an iPad and he's playing eminence front, whatever else is going on. That is the point. I guess I

should have known that that wasn't a sport. Yeah. I mean, powerful sport. I don't know. But that is later on picking nits. That is the person. Can't really stab somebody 20 times of the sport. Now I feel better. It was that in the movie, like when, um, because this movie wants to keep you confusing for a lot of time, it does. But like when I was first watching it, that was the part where I was most confused because I was like, what kind of movie do we have if he kills that guy? I want to get what's the purpose of killing? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Why is he doing this? Is he just hate having a sellmate? What's going on? And then it's clever when he wants to be moved to solitary for a specific reason. Well, you didn't realize is that he spent the last eight years digging tunnels under the jail, right? To every single cell perfectly so that whatever cell he went into. I could use the flashback of the 10 years of him preparing. Oh, yeah. Yeah. At some point, he's explaining it and he's and you're seeing it as a happen. I spent 10 years digging tunnels, making my plan, rigging cell phones. I would have been cool to see that. But at that point in the movie,

though, you now know he doesn't care who he hurts. It's not just going to be the people involved. It's going to be a lot of collateral damage. Next scene is the cell phone blows the judge up. This is an all-timer. My favorite scene in the movie. At a fucking nowhere. And she's kind of feeling it. She's talking about getting ready for the weekend. Yeah. They're not subtle with the messaging of the movie. We're in the line right before she blows her head blows up is like, I'm the judge. I can do whatever the fuck I want. And then her head blows up. So, you know, the movie's trying to tell you like, just the department thumbs down. That is horror movie level shot. I jumped out of my seat. I almost texted you guys again. Because I texted you once after the first scene of the movie saying, holy shit. And this one is the next huge jump scare. We're watching the movie. We're sitting down. It happens and Klee could just go, uh-uh. What you said before. She's like, I can't do this on a Wednesday. I'm out.

Well, so she missed the next scene, which is when he blows up everyone in the parking lot, including poor Leslie Bibb. Another jump scare. Who's 35 who's given up her career and probably will never have kids to serve Jamie Foxx. Why did you get the blow up in a car? Why did Jamie Foxx make everybody go to the office at 6 a.m. to wait and see if they might die? Great question. Yeah. Like, because you know, he was like, 6 a.m. It's going to happen. And they're all just in the office. Why aren't they home? Why aren't they like in a park? Why aren't they as far apart? Why have been in like Mexico? Yeah. Why is that staring at the car? I'm like, my dad's having a procedure. I got a flat of Boston. Let's see you guys in two weeks. Why is the DA like on the beat of the case like this in the first place? Why is the DA in a chopper going all the displays? Why is all it is happening? Is that like, are there any other crimes that filled up? Yeah. Like, why is the DA the one? He's like a the grizzled detective on this. I felt really bad for Leslie Bibb. That scene where she opens both doors and she realizes she

can't get out and she kind of gives Nick a look. Pretty brutal. Yeah. I didn't expect it. I have something to say later on. Okay. Maybe find a husband so that you don't blow up alone. Is that what you're going to say? Let's see. The funeral scene. Really great. The drone gun. And you don't know who's at that point the movie makes you think he's getting help from the outside. There's a second person. Yeah. Right. Because nobody would ever think he could just be sneaking in and out of whatever. But that guy Jonas, get shot like nine times and then blown up by a grenade launcher. I do like the finishing touch of the rocket. Yeah. Second, we share his dead. I wrote down the first 80 minutes of this movie. It's just a leap. Yeah. This is the 80 minute mark. This is like, basically like they've taken us almost to the finish line. Now just run a good play. Score your touchdown and go home. But now we find out. We we find out that he tunneled in the prison. That's the next scene. And then the last one is Nick

confronts Clyde. I don't make deals with murderers Clyde. You taught me that. They should both should have blown up. And but they give himself 25 seconds to leave. I like the almost operatic beauty of watching the fire slowly rise around him while you look special. Yeah. While you look at the bracelet that is darted made for. So what's your most rewatchable cell phone? My most rewatchable is the cell phone easily. But also Nick and Clyde's first interrogation scene is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Because yeah, but let's cook it. Cell phone, but honorable mention. We didn't even mention the torture scene. Bangkok Crack Love the Torture Scene. I bet you when he's explaining everything he's doing to Darby when he puts the ceiling there. When the mirror. He's fucking great. I'm going to cut your islands off. He can't close your eyes. It's so hard to watch. My wife gets what to watch. Yeah. He's recording it. I'm like, why is he recording it? He sends the tape to Nick's house. Really tough. Mine is I like the cellmate. I

like the cell phone and I like the parking lot. But that whole stretch is fantastic. That's where it's like we're pasting Dan Campbell's like going for it on fourth and 38 at this point. You don't even know where it's going. What's the most 2009 thing about this movie? It's got to be a crucial iPod scene. Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. Two years later that no way this happens, right? Because everything comes out on the phone. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This is kind of the end of the iPod. It's like one of those big fat ones. And you had to plug it into the big speakers. I also had no social media in place to be outraged by the plea bargain for the two killers. Mm-hmm. Like that would have been a big thing on Twitter. Right. Can you fucking believe it? Can you fucking believe it? We could have a crash. We could turn into a Karen Reed case. Yeah. The sky. Why wouldn't he try the case? They definitely did it. Well, that's what I have. The existence of true crime would have completely changed this movie. Right. They would have done documentary about this. Yeah. By the way, the documentary about Clyde after he did all the stuff he did, but that's 10 parts I've never done that. You should have done that.

You fucking yeah. After Clyde did all it is, Clyde's going to be fucking hero. There's going to be a Clyde side of Twitter, the Clyde Proud Boys faction. Clyde called me the fucking man. What's the name of the guy who killed the United CEO? There'd be a little bit of that. Yeah. I hope I never said Clyde. Yeah. You're going to be the man in the world we live in today. They should just make a true crime documentary about Clyde like he was a real person. I agree. That's a good idea. It's an interview people making fake documentaries about fictional crime characters is kind of awesome. Yeah. It's a clad. People we should. We should. I'm about to say we should take this out of podcast. I'm pretty good. And we should do a ringer movie sting where we do fake true crime docs about characters and we should actually do that. We should crime y'all about John Doe from seven is kind of sweet. Well, like you can even you can do like how many the victims of Vito Corleone? Like how many people over the course of his life, the Vito Corleone kill. Problem is is you'd have to get some of the actors to come back and reprise their roles for the interviews. Yeah. They tried this. They did fake 30 for 30 that I was not involved with about Drago. I think it didn't work. Oh, it sucks. Yeah.

Coyote to corny because wouldn't you need like Brad Pitt from seven to sit back down in character and give an interview? Yeah. Maybe. Maybe you would. Or if you had the right voiceover, you wouldn't need it. I mean, you could do it without it. But yeah. Yeah. The Floyd Gondale butter and my ass. La La Pops and my mouth award for something I just enjoy. So for me, it's any movie where lawyers trying to protect either a high conviction rate or high plea bargain rate. I always love this. They always put in the first they didn't feel good. Ben first 20 minutes. What kind of lawyer are you? Oh, well, you plea bargain 98% of the time, Kathy. You always know the guys that piece of shit. It's the easiest way to explain it to devil's advocate. Got devil's advocate. Can't believe it's a guy fucking never loses, right? And that's a part of his hubris in the entire devil's advocate. Devil's advocate. Like, oh, you thought I was saying I want to be the devil's advocate. No. In the movie, the devil's advocate. That's another devil's advocate. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. What do you have for gun dolly? Oh, I said earlier,

I like movies where something tries to cast a happen for God to be a father. Like, he's not a dad. He's not a dad. Right. He never go to a cellar or settle in his life. Doesn't go to the sun's baseball game. Terrorist take over the town kill 50 people. And after that, the last thing to the movie, he's at his son's baseball game. That's what it took for him to go out there and coach him how to throw a fastball, which like isn't connected. Like Nick going to his daughter's cellar or subtle isn't connected to what he learned from the movie, which is why if the tie started strangling him, like, I don't know. What is the tie? Start strangling him during the cellar recital. This movie's fucking amazing. I like, honestly, this is this becomes this becomes like a seven level kind of twist. He's like, wow, Clyde taught me a lot about the justice system. So I have to go to my daughter's cellar recital. Right. Exactly. My whole fucking team is dead. Everybody's dead. A guy got stabbed with a bone is Nick. So now I should go watch her player instrument. Plus I'm now the DA and the mayor of Philadelphia. I got promoted three. I have all four of the

high record jobs at the city. What's age the best? So initially Fox was going to be the the Clyde. Butler was going to be the lawyer and Butler pushed to flip it. Oh, Butler pushed to flip it. Yeah. Butler had a whole I'll find it. I think it's better the way it is. He said, maybe I think Jamie plays that role though better than he played his. I think Jamie probably I think he plays his role better, but I don't think it's a good use of. I think Butler's awesome in his role. Yeah. I don't think Jamie's going to be better than that. Butler said I became seduced by the other role. I'd often played more heroic, more straightforward subtle journey. I wanted something that could get my teeth into and I asked if Jamie would be interested in doing the other role. It's awesome. Yeah. The fact that they that they could talk about that the movie was supposed to go that way and then they flipped roles. I think it's a worse movie. I wouldn't buy Butler as the lawyer. I think it's probably a worse movie. It is. I think it's a better role for Jamie though. And the fact that he was

the fact that it's an away game for a good role for anybody. Yeah. It just could have been I even think like Tom Cruise like name anybody. Another one's age the best. The all new to rest. What a choice. The cops are coming. I'm stripping all my clothes. I'm just going to just going to flap it around. He's he's the Butler added himself to the pantheon. I've talked about this before of white guys on their way up in their sexiness. Show their butts to the camera. Him, Kevin Costa, Roderhead, Minnitheves, Mel Gibson, butts to the camera, Tom Cruise, butts to the camera. Very important to white guys. Also, Gerard Butler is a hairy guy. Yeah. Scottish. Bear naked ass. Nothing. Not a hair on it. They always do that movies. All these hairy men when they have to show their butts. No hair ever. Do you think they get waxed? 100%. 100%. I just think no matter what they're like, they can't be a hairy ass on screen. I'm surprised he didn't

go saubern on us and do a little self-fluffing for the front shot. Can we get it? Yeah. Yeah. More would say it's the best filly as a movie location. I'm not a rated. I was forget where we are right away, but then as we do it and you're in the city, it's like, I kind of like it. Everything's confined. That's why it's an awesome movie location because you don't recognize it like off the bat, but you know that it looks cool. Yeah. I wish they used it a little more. I wish Clyde was like the rocky statue. She's going to explode at midnight. That would have been cool. Oh my God. The spectrum. Yeah. I think the city wouldn't have been upset until the rocky statue was just blown up. The Liberty Bell. That's pretty good. I have one more with Ted's Best, but you have any? Reginaul. She's in this movie only for like a couple of scenes. She was already building like a phenomenal career, but like you see her, she looks beautiful. She's amazing. And she still brings like a gravitas to the character to where you know, like now you see the courage she has now. You

can see it right there, even in the smaller role. She's like three scenes too short in this movie, but I so this movie is almost two hours as it isn't my other way to say to the best. I like when a guy has a special set of skills that you need another character to explain. And in this case, he basically can kill anyone unconventionally, but you need the guy to come in who's, you know, we're in like a tunnel with this dude. We don't even know where that character came from. He's like, you don't understand. He can get to anyone. He doesn't have to be there. It's like, okay, cool. That's the house of cards guy, right? Yeah. Yeah. Why is that guy? Yeah. Great shot. Gordor award. Probably the naked arrest. What did you like? Huh? But like it's like the most deliberate shot. I thought it was the burning at the end when he's sitting there. Oh, that's good. And it's like, yeah. Okay. Big Gunna Berger wore a best use of food to drink the Del Frisco steakhouse. Actually, it may be kind of hungry. You feel the pretty good. We're going to throw in some potatoes a grotto maybe. I don't know if I would have included a

sparing dish like this. No, I'm not. What do you eat with your steak then? What's your green? I mean, sure. On a normal day, but if we're in like final meal territory, I don't know if I'm including a vegetable. Yeah, true. Our director Gary Gray, um, through this end because they had been eating at Del Frisco steakhouse and really liked it. So wanted to work them into the movie through the mobile. Got a little perk, little steak perk. Chess Rockwell, Brock Landers award for best character names. So Butler's character is named Clyde Shelton and Fox's character is named Nick Rice. Kind of makes sense that initially Jamie Fox's character was supposed to be Clyde Shelton and Gerard Butler was supposed to be Nick Rice and they flipped it, flipped the names. How many white guys named Clyde in American history? That's really good. Three? Yeah, I didn't even think about that. What are the names? What are the names? What are the names? Jamie Fox does not look like a Nick Rice. What if what if his name was supposed to be Darius Jackson? They just a little, they just leave.

Kid Cuddy, proceed to happiness where a best needle job eminent in front, eminent's front by the who met, remember from Craig's favorite show on Tourage? Which side were you on with Doug Allen versus Grineer and Piven with the bed-edged? Well, I'm not on the side of Jake Paul ever. I guess I'll have to take Ellen's. Right? The team Ellen. I don't like it. The fuck you guys are talking about. What do you think about the gambling ad with Piven and Grineer and it seemed like an entourage scene, but it wasn't? You can see that. The entourage creator got upset about it. Jake Paul is a gambling app made a commercial for it. And you don't miss anything on the internet. I don't understand. It starts Piven and Adrian Grineer. Well, what era is this? Two weeks ago. Yeah. Oh, it just happened. Okay, cool. I'm off Twitter. And they're playing Ari Golden Vinny Chase, but they don't see their names, but they're clearly speaking like them. They're at a party. And there's like it now, I think HBO. It's just this. It's just this. Piven shows up and he's trying to get in the party and ask for his name. And he's like, Ted Lassole. And he's like, there's my movie star, Motherfucker.

And it's like, okay, this is clearly entourage. Yeah. And it's like a big wide shot of a party and it's Jake Paul's party. And it just feels like an entourage scene. Because it felt like an entourage for a bottle. It was like a blatant repulsive. He didn't like it because of that. Not because of that. Well, because he was basically made it seem like it was the two characters. It didn't make it seem like a hit. Okay, so it was a creative thing for him. No, he wasn't like, don't use it for that. Ellen wasn't included in the process. So he was like, and he was just like, this was a water down version of the, you know, the funniest thing was he started out like, I'm not going to make a big deal out of this. And then he did like three tweets. And long, it's the good video. Also like, even though it was kind of cheesy, I still kind of like seeing them. Grinien and I kind of be out of that kind of a journey to do. I mean, it's like, Vince, you go back and you, if you spin the show, you are so happy to be back in the world, bro. It's just, it was, it's a fun time. Remind you of a fun time. Next little snapshot of LA in the 2000s. Take a relaunching now and I watch every episode. It'd be much more interesting. From your mouth to Doug Alan Sears. He's ready.

Was there a better title for this movie? I want to say yes, but I couldn't come up with the titles. So I have one. Okay. The name of my title is Shut the Hell Up, Nick. That's the name of my title. That's the name of my movie. Every time Nick says something, every time Nick says something, the opposite happens in a terrible fucking way. He's out there with his home crew. They're in the parking lot and he goes, we're going to find this guy and the boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Everyone did. Every time he says something. So if he just doesn't speak, if he just like, if he just fucking chills, maybe everything is okay, but legitimately every time Nick has a thought, the opposite, they make this guy look so dumb throughout this entire movie. It's a good point. I love the scene when Clid's like, get me a nice mattress and I'll confess. And then Nick leaves and he's like, we don't negotiate with murderers. And it seems like what the fuck you talking about? Get him a mattress. He's going to confess. Ben, you ever flex category? Yeah, so my top five, we shouldn't have fucked with this guy movie. Oh. Okay, so there's a lot of movies like this out here,

but I tried to use body counts and consequences to qualify this list. You have to have Death Wish on the list at five, but like Death Wish has sort of a conservative body count with all the, only the only thing I think is like, in the first movie, but let's try the entire movies. He kills 125 people. So she never mess with 125 people died. Number four, the equalizer, Denzel. Okay, she left him alone. Robert was chilling and a lot of stuff, but throughout that, he becomes a vigilante, kills the whole Russian mob over the course of three movies, kills up a bunch of people. Number three, Taken. Yeah. Taken is interesting in this because what you guys talked about before, Taken, I feel like is the only one where somebody else didn't describe to us how good Brian Mills is. Brian said it. So like normally you bring a guy in and it's like, just the baddest motherfucker ever, but Brian goes, no, I have a very particular set of skills. He also told this guy, I don't really care about human traffic.

If you give me my daughter back, you can traffic all you want. Brad, I like to stuff out. Yeah, I'm not going to bother you, but I like that. So you, so Brian was a self-promoter. Brian was a self-promoter. Because we just stayed in Rambo too with Kyle Brandt. Kyle Brandt was saying, how trout men was Rambo's wrestling manager basically. Yeah, so you don't understand, but we've got here. The man to kill a machine. Everybody else has somebody to come to Ramon. Right, but like Brian was like, I'm going to come to get you. I have all of these skills. I'm going to go. All right, number two is first blood. Rambo was not bothering anyone. Brian didn't, he just wanted to, wanted to breakfast. Just walking through the town, walking through the town. He actually lives at him at one time. Like very sincerely, and goes, why are you riding me like, what are you doing? Yeah, goes to the wood, kills all the cops over these movies. He went around the world killing killed in the US, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Myanmar, and Mexico. They, they initiated Rambo and people died everywhere. There's an alternate universe where he's just working at a black bus service through the entire eighties. Well, he's, he started an Italian restaurant in the Pacific Northwest.

Yeah, just chilling. He's going to therapy. It's kind of hanging out with his brand-bones Italian restaurant. Restoree. Exactly the whole deal. He's not bothering no one. Yeah, but they fuck with him and they unleashed the demon. Number one, obviously John Wick. They killed the dog. Then John Wick proceeded to kill 439 people Wow in seven months. 439 people in seven months after they stole the car and killed the dog. He completely obliterated the high table. It is one of the worst mistakes in the history of organized crime movies. It's good. Best Rebel Ridge. Shout out other movies around. I didn't make it but Rebel Ridge is another one. What they could have made a Rebel Ridge to Rebel Ridge to reverse three. Yeah. That was good. But we'll take a break. Then we'll do Butch's girlfriend. This message is brought to you by Apple card. Clive. Clive. Couldn't Clive just, did he need to take 10 years to do

these elaborate murder of everybody? Could it just kill Darby when he got out of jail? Yeah. Could have killed all the people. Could have killed the judge. Like he just kind of stipered him. He had to like dig tunnels for 10 years. But I was revenge. But what was his ultimate point? The, well, could the system was fucked up? Just kill everybody. But if you're killing everyone anyway. But if he anonymously is killing all these people, he's not a public figure in prison who's making a point to the justice system. And everybody knows that this man who was wronged by the system is now getting his own love. All right, so let's say we're friends with Nick. Nick's like, here's my plan. We're like, dude, just kill everyone. You make clive. Clive. Clive. Clive just kill everyone. This is, this would be 10 years of your life. Just take them all out. Because you know how to kill people. Yeah. Just get out of it. He could still like write letters and send emails. Right. This is the, he could probably go on the news do an interview after he does it all. Yeah. Wait, look at him. Then we'll have him. Darby gets out of, after five years, he lets him live for another five years. Yeah. I guess. I guess all the fun that Darby look like he was having fun.

Oh, how many more people did Darby kill because the clive was taking his time? The judge, Jamie Foxx, are going to do more damage like, why do we wait so long? He's basically waiting until the lethal injection to start his revenge thing. Or maybe he had to finish all the tunnels. But this is, this is, this is, this is, the guys fucking maniac. But this is part of the movie. Part of the movie is there, you, after the, the film kicks off, you feel for him. And so there's going to be an implicit sense of altruism and like whatever he does. Yeah. Right. But it's really not. It's like the difference between justice and revenge. Like, like, say, in Batman begins, justice is harmony. Revenge is making yourself feel better. So he really didn't have a point, which is why he did it in such a staccato, Scottish outweigh. The other week link would be. He, him being able to be in isolation. And just being able to move in and out. And nobody realizing it. Also, like, those are the most elaborate isolation.

Like, I'm used to Oz, where you're just in like a, round cement box with, you're just naked the entire time. He's got his thing has like nooks and crannies, the ability going in and out. And he was just able to build tunnels for all 20 spots. By the way, the tunnels are very manicured and extremely nice. Yes. There's a lot of them. There's like brick. Right. There's like, was he rich? Like, I feel like all this. He's like, he's in a part a lot of technology. Batman. Yeah. But also he started a whole genitorial service called Nomo's that he's working in the mayor's office. They know them. They're like, hey, Nomo, let's go down. So he's like, so he's also working at this guy's sleep. Well, he's also, that's a full shift. He's got to work. Right. So he can't, yeah, we're exactly. So he's got to leave. So it's like, Clyde, what are you doing today? Uh, nine to four. I got to dig some tunnels. Then I got my janitor shift from four to 12. Just fucking kill everybody. Right. This really might be Apex Mountain for like the long con. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah.

10 years of planning this is a, and him taking the bus shift. I've been in there for years. And then he also has the dig. All the tunnels. I don't know. Maybe he contracted guys out there to do it, you know. New award. The Death Wish to award for did this home invasion scene go too far. It's obviously it seems like his wife gets raped. I would say they don't really show it. Usually no, it doesn't go too far. But what happens is grotesque. The little girl shows up. Yeah. And that guy's I love playing with kids. Whatever. That's why we had that part. We out of here, man. But that point is like, it allows you to, to kind of get behind Clyde, the whole movie. Like you keep thinking back to that scene. And so then when every, every time Clyde does something, you're kind of like, I still get it. How come he and John Wick himself out of that situation? How come he like in that situation, you got to hit with the fucking battle. I guess John Wick didn't John Wick himself out of that situation. Yeah, but so I had this in the picks, but we can do it now. This guy by all counts as one of the great murderers and planers of all time.

They get a postmates. Obviously, might have some people with an axe to grind. Yeah. Right. He doesn't even like look through the little eye hole. Doesn't, doesn't just like, oh, smells good. The guy gets him to head with a bat. Makes no sense. It's night. It's dark out. He doesn't look through the people. He just opens the door for strangers. Who just opens the door at night without looking at his face? And he just opens the door for strangers. Somebody that hypervisual it as well. Like other people might have been like, Hey, whatever, but this guy with this murder around every corner. And like whatever like that, he just wouldn't have been that way. Ridiculous. What sage the worst? The Philly accents are just not existing in this movie. They even try. They even try. They just said, fuck it. No Philly sports references. This is like the Philly's are I think are in the world series in 09. Sixers, not really sure what's going on with them in 09. Probably nothing great. But the Eagles. And the Igualdala. Yeah, early Igualdala. The Eagles are, I don't know, felt like somebody could have been like,

I'm going in the flyers game tonight. Sports is such a big part of Philly. Um, here's my other one now. Chase Utley will die tonight if I don't get a Delphurus go steak or have them in a game. Like have them at like a Philly's game. And then, you know, they get some message on the board. Sometimes I like it when the killers in this, in these movies just say like a passing reference. It's like, yeah, you probably loving it, which a family going to the birds game or something like that. Like just a passing reference to it. It's something Clyde would have done. You catch the Philly's game, Nick. You like Chase Utley? Good players and he net Ryan Howard hits bombs. I do bombs. She liked that. Brand signing Nick. My other one, Sage is worse. It's just Violet Davis is in this movie who's one of our better actors of the last 20 years. She's completely wasted. Yeah, she's in the mirror for like three scenes. She has lines like, yeah, boy, sure, fuck this one up. It's like we need Violet Davis for this for this. Well, look, earlier, but she's also,

she also pops up like for a brief second in, damn, I'm drawing a blank. What's in black hat? No, she has like, she's in a bunch of movies where it's like, why is Violet Davis like she's a legitimizer? People just throw away the movie to raise the world. What was it? One scene in out of sight. Right. Yeah, one scene in out of sight. She pops up. Interesting character. But like, I think she was still on the, you know, took a while. She was still on the camera. If you have her, I'm writing three more scenes with the mayor. The mayor's going to just be more involved in the, any other one stage of worst for you. No, just, I say, just Nick. Every time I watch it, I'm like, yo, Nick sucks. The Vincent Chesaward for, are we sure this character was actually good at his job? Mayor Violet Davis. She's like, first of all, everybody blows up and she has this speech and she goes, I'm going to have to swear you in as the new DA. As she's operating him for all the damage that he just caused, you don't want to have a little search here for a week.

Right. This gotta be Nick. Are you crazy? Nick is the worst, bro. This gotta be Nick. No, Nick, Nick for no reason, by the way, Nick, take it to trial. You're going to win. Dog, you're going to win. You don't think that Nick is the, Nick is the worst DA that I've ever seen. He's the worst, everything. He shakes a rapist's hand on television. Right. This sort of been like the Jaguar is bringing urban mayor and being like, this is going terribly. You're now the GM. Exactly. You gotta be Nick. We'd like to have you also be in charge of the players. The Ruffalo Hannah Rubinick Parcher Joe reacting where I think goes to Darby. Darby was landing on thick. I think that could have been a really good criminal role for somebody. And that guy, I've never seen him before. I don't know where that guy came from. You didn't look greasy and disgusting. I know. That could have been a really good part, though, for somebody like a good scumbag part. It was a day-to-day. Him landing at the Nabi apartment. Darby was getting to it. He also got about it that quick, man. He turned into Jason Bourne on the roof for a second.

Do we talk about that scene? That's the matrix. That's Nio, like go left, go right, go. And that's the matrix. That was a fun scene. Really good scene. Yeah. Little shades of the fugitive. Sierra thinks Luke Wilson could have been Harris for it. I was taking where. Do you prepare one for this? I did not. Because I did not know I was going to be sitting in this chair. Did you prepare one for this? Yeah. So, Sarah. Which is Leslie Ben? Yeah. She deserved to die. She should have had a husband. She should have. Like, Sarah, it was just, she was working too hard. Sarah deserved to die. I can tell you what's going to happen in, with Sarah. Down the road, she's going to make a run at Nate. It was good. It was a naked, naked, naked. Down the road. Sarah, while talking about Chip, the boyfriend, they're already getting a little too familiar. I know. I would argue that maybe it already happened. Down the road, Sarah. Sarah was a scene missing. Telling you. When they jumped to 10 years later, you're like, what man, they've been working together for 10 years?

I'm telling you, what was going to end up happening? Is Nate becomes a governor or something like that? He brings Sarah to the NAACP awards. Anybody go crazy on Twitter. Them till Sarah was that had to happen like that. She just, she just, she needed to die because she might have cheated on her boyfriend with Nick. I put the black family ahead of everything. Okay. She's a single mom with a biracial baby. She's like, it's adopted. It's adopted. Here's my how to stick. I think Gerard Butler should have been James Bond 20 years ago instead of Daniel Craig. Interesting. I think it's a great fork in the road. I think they were both at around the same points of their career. And I think he would have been a better James Bond. So this is... I would have rather seen him at Casino Rayao. Skyfall, name of James Bond movie. I'd rather have Butler. I think it would have been fun as Bond got older and fatter from other cigarettes and drinks. So this is why you are who you are. Thank because this is the most entertaining total bullshit take.

I can like really wrap my mind around. But it is, it's fascinating to even consider it when you consider the trajectory of both guys' careers and how successful Daniel Craig was as Bond. Yeah. And the fact that drop Butler kind of couldn't make Olympus's fallen work. So when you look at it through that lens, it's like this almost dazzling, dazzling future take. But it's very entertaining. Yeah. That's what that's the fucking thing. Yeah. Also if he's James Bond, is he now in better shape? Do we get dented thieves? Because he can't play somebody like Nick because he's got to be staying James Bond shape. Right. So you wouldn't have gotten... Wait, hold on. What about Daniel Craig and Dino Thieves? As maybe that's what happens. Right. Daniel Craig could have been in law-abiding citizen. Daniel Craig could have been easy. Clive. He's got a little bit of that grit to him. So you don't think that you're our Butler could have been James Bond. You know, I think that James Bond draw Butler's brand is brutality.

Yeah. And James Bond's... There's a swab. There's a swab that's in a subtlety too. Is your art Butler ordering Martinez and sleeping with mistresses at casinos? I don't know if I'm in a suit. He's also got that Scottish thing where you can't talk to her or shout her mouthful. But... Right. Could he keep the Scottish action as Bond? Well, I was like this though. He is sort of... Oh, you're coming around. Oh, no. What I look... I entertain every idea. It's my problem. Like, he does kind of fit into the Sean Connery man's man version of James Bond. Yeah. And kind of been subverted. I don't know. But no, it's fucking terrible. But it is an interesting thought. I feel coming around. I feel coming around. Casting what he has, we mentioned the Butler Fox thing. This movie was originally supposed to be directed by Frank Derrabont Oh, from Shawshank Redemption. Hmm. Creative differences left the movie. He was like, I can't do another movie with tunnels leading to jail cells. Maybe that's why they wanted him. He's a creative differences guy. There's been a few of those. Like, even Walking Dead ended up like,

suing AMC for Walking Dead. So, um, never. Okay. Joey Pantsoward for Best That Guy. Cole Meanie is the guy who ends up basically, he's the only one that survives other than Jamie Foxe. The sidekick. He's been in a bunch of shit. He's like Star Trek guy, right? Mystery Alaska. Like, he's been around forever. But I think people, some people might know is Cole Meanie. The Warden. Oh. Is a full fledged over the top. It's not Bruce McGill. Bruce McGill is Bruce McGill is Bruce McGill. Bruce McGill is Bruce McGill. Okay. The Warden was played by President Logan from 24. I didn't know what this guy's name was. I had to go look it up. Yeah. Yeah. He was the evil president in 24. I didn't know what his name was, but it's Gregory Itzen. He was the Warden. So I think he went. The only other guy throughout is the dude who plays Clyde's co-worker. Oh, that guy's a Michael Kelly. Oh, well, no. Michael Kelly. Well, he just got added to, um, season three of Lamin. Lamin. But what makes me think, I'm not going to spoil anything.

But he is also online. So I feel like he's maybe sort of a send it. I think he's Michael Kelly. I think he's Michael Kelly. DM Waiters Award. I can offer you Derby. Clyde's old co-worker, Michael Kelly. Leslie Bibs in it too much. But I think the answer is Clyde's so mate. They're doing a whole separate movie for five minutes. I'm like, I kind of spent 20 more minutes with this guy. But they've got a couple of bitches back on. I got a cross. You know what I'm saying? They made us like that guy. Yeah. I was in it like that. It's DM Waiters. He checked. We cast and couch director's city. Can I offer you Denzel and Tom Hanks making Philadelphia? Are you fucking nuts? I cannot believe you just said that. You have that. I cannot believe like I cannot believe that you just said that. That was my big reveal for this thing. The Philadelphia shadow sequel that actually has Denzel Washington in it. We just go love hiding citizen three years later. After Philadelphia or two years later. This my approximation of myself has gone down to surgery.

Who's who? Because we're going up. Well, I thought that what you would do is have Denzel as Clyde and have Tom as like the Jamie Foxx character. Yeah. Or we go the other way and Tom Hanks finally breaks bad. He's finally a bad guy in a movie. He gets like ripped. But I'm like fake tattoos. Neck tattoo. Yeah. Goes shows his ass. It's like this that Tom Hanks would never see. Wax his ass. Yeah. I feel like Denzel has made nine versions of this movie. But never actually made this movie. But he's done a bunch of these. This is all you believe me. I believe do. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And you should be excited that we had the same idea. Instead of upset. Yeah. Stuff. I'm obsessed. Craig, give a fuck category. I was going to do Kevin Costner award for the worst American accent. Which has got to go to Gerard Butler. I got he just there's the Scottish is falling out of his mouth with every line. Is he even trying to do an American accent? You like mac and cheese?

It's like it's just not there. It's it's not like they're like this is the best we're going to get. Let's just keep going. But is he supposed to be American? Yeah, I think so. Well, I would think so. He's a CIA. Opportunity. Well, I mean, he's some kind of got it. My take on this always consistently is just have your normal accent. Totally. But Chris Hemsworth and Black Hat trying to have the Brooklyn accent. Just be Australian. Who cares? We never remember it like in Robin Hood in the movie that this is named after. He's I don't know the gods from fucking Long Island or whatever. Like Robin of Long Island. But it doesn't even fucking matter. Like you don't remember it. It's a good one. I don't first go steak Nick. And you're just like, come on. Would you like some steak? Half-ass-errant research. Butler loved the script because he actually graduated from Glasgow Law School. And Glasgow. Wait, wait, what did you just say? He graduated from law school. It's got there. Yeah, wow. I never knew it.

And was a trainee solicitor and got fired and then decided to become an actor. He also said this movie really fucked with them. He spent three weeks in a very funky place. Came back to Scotland, went away, climbed a couple hills, got a 10 out, and then went off to India. He might be one of the five most interesting people in the world. Yeah. I feel like he would be a good BS podcast, charred. You've ever talked to him? No, I would love him though. He'd be great. That sounds great. I wouldn't just ask a lot of Thin-A-Thieves questions. They filmed in Philadelphia. Butler said that there was one scene when he kills the guy. When the blood was gushing it. No, when he kills the guy in the cell. We had guys working on this who'd worked in the industry for 30 years. So we're standing in front of the cameras with their hands over their mouth going. Holy fucking shit. I've never seen anything like that. It was incredibly graphic and powerful. But the ratings board said we had to be rated and see 70. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

So they somehow cut that down. I thought that's a pretty brutal scene. They're blood everywhere. I wouldn't have been really interesting. I'd be really curious. Yeah, to see what it was before they tried to do. Did it just pouring out of his neck? I know. He's dead. Already poured out of his neck. 10, 20 times with the shit. Yeah. His name NoMo, the cleaner, the janitor identity had. In Greek, it means law related to the idea of dispensing justice. And then Bruce McGill, two car explosion deaths for him in his career. The other one was what movie? We've done it rewatchable. Oh, last boy scout. There you go. Oh, I was thinking there should be a website that has all the deaths, all the deaths of real of the actors. Oh, interesting. How many died? I am DB for death. Just to see who had the most, who's died the most. Yeah, how they died.com. That's great. Yeah, yeah. Somebody, somebody should work on that. That's the end of last boy scout. That's great. Headed good.

Gets punched. Blows up. Apex Mountain. Dr. Drawer Butler. What is it? 300 right? It's probably mid-2000s. Mid-2000s. Coming out of 300 felt like the world was the next we got. Jamie Foxx probably after Ray. Ray collateral. He's wins for Ray. There's no name for car all same year. He's the biggest fucking thing in the whole industry. I don't know what it is for less than good. Oh, my lotus. Tall day, good nights as well. Kind of close to this. But yeah, white lotus. I guess it was. She's the lead in Tall day. It would have to be Tall day. She believes lady. Yeah, yeah. That's probably mid-2000s. Philadelphia law movies. I'm going to say Philadelphia still has that one. Vigilante movies. I'm going to say death wish. Delphirisco stay cast definitely. Then double legal. Eminence front. Still probably the first episode of Onto Rush. Yeah, right? Sure. What would you say? What would you say?

Eminence front. Oh, no. Who song? Oh, the who song. Yeah, yeah. Bound and out. Cruise or Hanks? Well, that's why I had it. I had cruise and the Philadelphia shadow sequel with Hanks and Nick, this Dinsale and Clive. Cruise would be a phenomenal Clive. It's the role I always kind of wanted cruise to do as a many roles I've wanted cruise to do. What? Just like a law abiding citizen where collateral is the closest. He came to be in Dark Cruise. But this would have been a good version of it. The thing is he was so good at it. It was so seamless and collateral. The fact that he never spent time as that in movies as much as he should have. In collateral, it is so natural. Almost grounds his performance in a different way. He's a different human. Different. Who's what a crush Clive? Like the hyper fixated, like manic. Right. He would have learned tricks too. Over the top. Yeah, you would have totally bought it. He would have learned like how to make bombs. He would have learned how to tunnel. Yeah. I was tunneling under my house for six months

to understand tunneling. Does he have any running to do though? In this way. They would have added something. Put some running in this. Yeah. I think parking lot, when he has to park in the garage at the end, he probably has to run. Sure. Yeah. Would we think of that interview, by the way? Which one? The cruise GQ. Oh, I haven't watched yet. I saw it. I saw it. So Craig was thinking cruise would be a good rewatchable guest and we argued back and forth about it. And he would be. And my take was he would not be. He'd be phenomenal. Would he be would he be one of the best talking about the movie though? He would be one of the best ever. He didn't I'd be answer. I'd be like, all right, Tom, what's your most rewatchable scene? And it'd be like, you know, I think one of the best things about race car driving is the feeling you get with hair. If Tom Cruise is sitting in the seat, I think you would answer the signal category question. I love this. Talk your shit. Tom Cruise is not good enough for my movie podcast. Well, we've talked about he would have been good. All I want is to have a good podcast. I think that Tom Cruise, if you've ever listened to him when he gets going talking about movies

and talking about like, I tried to listen him in the GQ interview and he was in coherent. I'll go ahead. I think what's nice is when he sits down for a GQ interview, you have to ask about him and he is very skilled at skirting around things. If he's sitting down talking about a movie, he gets to talk about the movie. If you have him in here with doing days of thunder, that's gonna go crazy. He's gonna probably tell great stories, but he wouldn't do a movie he's in because we usually don't do that. All right. So Tom Cruise, don't be a wuss. Come on the rewatchable. Stay cool. He proved me wrong. I had another category. What's going on with this guy? The Ed Norton reverse dunk award for did this movie did a rid of sports team. What's up with this? Let me give you this. Jamie Foxx, he's playing, he has a Saturday morning basketball game. Mm. Basketball plays with some of the, some of the people, some of the people like in the in the legal community. Saturday morning, it's like nine o'clock. Right. And the Gatorade jug is poisoned by Clyde. No, the basketball somebody's going for a layup and the basketball just blows up, blows up five, but Fox through the past.

Right. He didn't get it. Yeah. Yeah. Rap is playing. Are you trying to make this? What's what would we have done? What do you want? Tennis? I was trying to think of a Gerard Butler trying to blow up some sort of sporting event. I'm fucking with you. Yeah. Tennis would be good too, I guess. No, no, no, no, no, basketball. Basketball is the best. Does the guy's going for the layup? Yeah. And the ball just explodes or he's like, he's like somebody's mad because they won't swing the rock. He's like, hey, you're not passing the ball. Nick, you taking every shot because Nick is like, airing it. And so Nick goes, fuck it and he passed the ball to the guy and the guys, so is the ball. Good. There's slow, slow, but it just blows up. Rips the fucking skin off of his face. Yeah, then when I was thinking with softball, it'd be great. It's like the, I just don't know if they would have been playing a lot of, Philadelphia softball is the city was blowing up. All right. The fox is the pitcher and throws the ball and the guy hits the thing that everybody loves is that he's actually playing this game while all of this shit is happening, which is exactly what his dumbass character

in this movie would do. It's like, I can't skip my Saturday hoops game. Right. I can't go, my, I can't go to see my daughter play the chello. We're in the 70s. Sorry. The van Nathan and word did this movie need more black people? I don't think so. I think we're good. You think we're good? Okay. Because if the more people that you have in this movie, the higher the body count goes and I think it's good that we were spared. Picky nets. We've mentioned a few of them already. I mean, there's a good question of two guys just randomly raping murder the wife and daughter of somebody whose guys are so say and don't realize it. Pretty massive coincidence. Well, see, this is the other houses to go to. But there's another reason, there's another way that this movie could have been a little smarter. And maybe the Fincher version is that this is not just some random crime that happens to this revenge. This is something that happens in a different way. And like you start to learn all that throughout the movie. When Nate, Nick, Nate, Nick, Jamie Foxx character when he shakes Darby's hand

in front of all the reporters, I've never do that. Nobody sets stupid. Yeah. It's the dumbest thing he does in the movie. Right. You know, I know I'll hold it on the handshake. Right. I can rape this guy. So it's in the isolation cell. No cameras in this cell. And one stuff starts blowing up. Nobody says we should put a camera in that cell to see what he's up to, what he's doing. They're not just photographing him 24 or 7 to make sure he's not doing that. I mean, yeah, he's now the most dangerous guy in the whole city. If you're the mayor, you're going to call that one in. Hey, let's put a camera in the cell so we know what he's doing. Also, on the Clyde side of things, at the end of the movie, wouldn't Clyde have noticed that Nick in what's his name broke into his warehouse, went into the tunnel, moving things around. Yeah. Clyde was in there after that. He wouldn't notice. And by the way, they broke into the warehouse. How do the motherfuckers know how to do that? They don't know how to do that. That's the DA and a cop. How the fuck do they know how to do bombs and all of that? They Google it. They don't know how to do none of that.

I just think the biggest picking that is that the final crime that Clyde is trying to commit is the least inventive. It's like the least smart. Just blowing up the mayor. He puts a bomb under a table. But by this point, no cameras on it. He can't see it. Wouldn't he rig a camera to be able to see if anyone's messing that? All in the name, the function of it. Not the actual. The function of it. Yeah, we're almost sort of a better. The mayor was giving a press conference. And it was almost like how the bodyguard ended where it was like the cameraman ended up trying to shoot Whitney Houston. Yeah, so he had the camera shooting by old Davis. But really, it's going to be a killer. It would have been better if he'd have had some want. If there would have, if there was some ask of something that gave him some sort of purpose beyond carnage because to you guys' point, if it's just carnage, there's no reason to play all of these games. You wait till everybody is going to fucking to the day. You just blow up and kill as many people as you can. Because the best part of this movie is, is every 10 minutes, it's like what is Clyde going to do next? What is the next elaborate scheme?

And then the last one is he puts a bomb on a briefcase and puts it under a table. You're like, this is, you know, a little underwhelming. How do they get to his jail cell before he does at the end? Is another one I've always wondered when I watched this movie? I guess you could say because he has to go to the garage because he can't get through. Maybe they've got bought more time, but he has a big head start. The biggest, the biggest picking that is, it is one thing for one of the richest men in the world to build a command center bunker under his mansion that exists outside of the city limits. With Wi-Fi and state-of-the-art cameras. Right. So it's one thing for a guy named Bruce Wayne. It's like, hey, Verizon, I want to install my Wi-Fi. Can we get a fiber under here? It is another thing for a prisoner to down essentially be a super criminal in a base while incarcerated. It is so nonsensical that it makes absolutely zero. There are no guards just walking up and down.

There's nothing. It's like, hey, that bitch like I just moved in a while. It looks like it's climate controlled. There's electricity down there. Like in no fucking way. She see what he then he puts the pillow in the blanket under the other blanket. So it makes it seem like there's a body in there. Every other prison movie we've seen, they're like making fake heads with hair. Half a pillow in the air. Trash is then making the lives out of molds of themselves. So they can fucking listen. I love that movie. I just fucking love that movie. I was telling Craig about that movie. I haven't seen it. I saw North Carolina. See, I heard you fan in that movie too. That's a classic. I like it. We went after do that one. Sneaky hot take. That movie's amazing. That's my favorite Eastwood movie. But all the movies that he's done, that ain't unforgivable obviously. But like, I love that movie. I'm not even gonna ask you if you thought they actually got away. I'll save it for the podcast. Right. Um, sequel prequel prestige TVL Blackcaster untouchable. So May 22, they announced that there was gonna be a sequel by 22 win. Four years ago. Oh shit.

Kurt Wimmer hired to return a screenwriter. Gerard Butler was gonna be a producer. The producer Lucas Foster said, we look forward to revisiting these great characters and said the premise seems even more relevant today than when the original film was released. But then three years later, they basically said this isn't happening. So later on, I'll just do it now of what happens the next day. I have an idea for the sequel. Is it about now? Yeah. We basically already talked about it. Nick realizes that Clyde said all kinds of booby traps for him, like in his world in case he died. In case something happened to him. And Billy Bob Thornton comes in, gets hired as a former accomplice or like person of Clyde that has to get into his brain and figure out all the booby traps. All the booby traps that went off and are gonna go off. That could be my basketball scene in the sequel. It's like, oh, he knew you played basketball in Saturdays.

Can blow up the game. He raises home because he gets told there's a bomb in a cello. I had for the sequel. I actually just said, Nick goes to jail because he blew up a prison. Probably all the people in it and security guards. He's nothing to do with what the 30 people to get revenge on this guy. He didn't give anyone a heads up. I mean, that was like a huge bomb. The prison made it collapsed. Yo, this is the take. There's no way he didn't kill a bunch of people. 100%. He's like, he should be arrested at the cello recital. Because when their bomb expert opened up the briefcase when it was at town hall, he's like, this could take out two floors. Right. And they just put that in his in Clyde cell. So that thing takes out the whole floor. And some dude in his cell, he goes, God damn, man. You know, it's going to be tough. I only got three years on the minor Wii charts. I'm going to do my time back over there. Got a stake in Mac. You're right. Like I'm playing the who I'm good. All of a sudden he's fucking dead.

Is this movie better with Wayne Jenkins? Fergie the florist. Everybody else. My triant think of football for this. Go Collins worth. We go Trey Ekman. Um, I like Josh Allen out there, Mike. He's running the offense. He's calling on almost left and right. He's reading the defense. I'm like, I can't get over Clyde. Digging tunnels for 10 years. Just one Oscar who gets it. Probably Butler, right? Yeah, I guess. Imagine if Butler got nominated for this. They're the. All these categories and drawer Butler for long. A lot of biases. They show seat of him stabbing us. So he's like, I'm going to cut your penis off with a box cover. Uh, probably an answer for questions. I only have one. So we talked about if there was a different ending for this movie. What happens if Fox is at the cello recital for his daughter?

And something jars his memory and he realizes the recitals about to blow up. And we go watch out and just entire school blows up. The net's ended the bill. I'm sure I think how dark how dark of an ending could this be? Because now here's the whole school blows up. I think that's too dark. There's definitely too dark. Yeah, hundreds of kids died. But I wonder if the writers room did they did that? They were. They blow for prison. Yeah. Well, yeah. The whole children. Well, we could they. Okay, let's put what could they blow up? But could the recital is there a moment where he's watching the recital and you do the thing where he did the fate and then you're like, oh no. Maybe when he plays a note, it triggers a bomb. Yeah, like I was trying to think of what movie this reminds me of and it's Arlington Road. Did you ever see Arlington roads great and they actually fall the premise all the way the follow all the way through. Yeah, yeah, don't. I'm not really. But I was wondering like how dark could this get?

The cello blowing up. Yeah. That's that's really dark as it gets. The school blowing up really dark. Him starting to get strangled by his tie. I think would have actually been a really good because he him doing this like right. And then we do flashback of Butler in his closet just adding shit to all his tie adding his weird sea ashore or Nick is sitting there during the recital watching his daughter play the cello and then he kind of looks stage right and behind the curtain is Clyde and he just picks his head. And he's like that would have been hard. Yeah, so I could maybe he sneaks back in the tunnel. Maybe he's fucking escaped. Yeah. Well, like something like that. When we see the flames coming behind him, we know he dies. They shouldn't have showed that. Yeah. I think they should have left it open that maybe we never found his body. What's Nick leaves? If Nick leaves and we all see that, we would almost assume that he has a bomb. But they can still show the explosion when Nick's outside in the parking lot. I don't think they should have shown the flames around Clyde. Right. Of course, she's playing the cello recital and there's other people on stage,

including the teacher with the playing the piano. And Nick's kind of looking at the teacher and realizes that it's Clyde. Clyde's playing the piano and kind of turns to Nick. Maybe a phone rings in his pocket and his wife's like, turn off your phone. He's like, I didn't bring my phone. Oh, got you motherfucker in text. Basically Nick has to die in the last scene. Yeah, I think we all agree. Yeah, I can't believe it. It's a better movie. I can't believe Nick made out of life. Remember Billy Ead most want from this movie? I was going to say the sport from the jail scene, but I guess I'll say the steak bone. Yeah. But definitely the bone could put it right there under Farah. Coach Finstack, Mr. Miyagi word, best words, life lesson. Lessons not learned in blood or soon forgotten. Yep. Lessons not learned in blood soon forgotten. You believe that Bill? Best double feature choice. Half Italian. Best double feature choice has to be Denetives.

You need both ends of Butler. I'll put it. Butler when he has it. And then Butler when he doesn't. Both ends of Butler too. You want both of them more fuckers? Yeah. They go Bill, go ahead and get to that. I put rock and roll. Just because I love rock and roll. But then it days is a good one too. Sure. Maybe John Wick one. Oh, another eventually. And then I think we all think Butler won this movie without a doubt. Yeah. Yeah. By the way, he wins most movies that he's in. I agree. And it don't matter. You don't want him as James Bond for some reason. No, hell no. But he wins most movie that Daniel Craig. But that's kind of the design. Daniel Craig. Daniel Craig. Daniel Craig. I like Daniel Craig a lot. Revolutionized to carry. He really likes it. He was like very important. There'd be Butler whatever. We never get him a chance. I'm a draw at Butler guy. Me and Coleek and Winston. I could say not. You don't think he should be James Bond. I don't think he should be. You know what? I also don't think he should play Malcolm X. That doesn't mean that he should be in every movie. Right. But try Butler's Malcolm X would be a trace.

Yeah. Pumeth Rock. But we went to see every Olympus movie in theaters. I've never seen any of those fallen. Angel is falling. And again, all of everything's fallen. They're fine. The first one is possible. This is better than any of those movies. It might not be better than the first one. I could make a argument for the first one. A Olympus. A Olympus. I could make a argument for the first one. What role would he play in the Colin Kaepernick sports movie? Retired linebacker. Jim Tom Sula. Let's see. What would he play? Jim Harba. Maybe he's Harba. Jim Harba. The Scottish accent. Maybe Harba. Maybe Harba. We got to do a little more shotgun coming out of there. We got to use Colin's legs. But he has been underused, though, to me. I agree. I think he's great in chasing Mavericks. That's not a movie that should be good. And he's great in it. For his physicality, I'm surprised he was never like a football player in a movie.

I sure. He could have been a linebacker. He do sports movies. He do like what's called Dennis Davis. He was a high school star. He could have been in the magazine serving. Like he could have been in the replacements or something. You know? No question. Do you need to do your closer? Because you already talked about the movie. Anything left? No, I just, I think, I think the most interesting part of the movie is when you decide that you are no longer rooting for Clyde. And or does that ever come? When was it for you? When Leslie Bibliw up, I was like, all right, he's killing paralegals and assistants now and people who are barely related to this case. And he's kind of lost his mind. Yeah. But you know, but until then, I was like, I'm on board. And even till the end, there's still a percentage of you that's like, I get it. You know, one of the great reasons why this is a rewatchable movie. It's like, why am I fucking rooting for this guy? Right. It's a complete Bediac. And I think maybe it's why purposefully Nick is not a likable character. Because if Nick was a, if Nick was a great guy or more charming, you might be more against Clyde. But because Nick sucks, I think you're in the back of your head.

You're like still rooting for Clyde a little bit. Clyde's right until he becomes criminally and crazily wrong. This whole movie is like one big gray area. And you just like don't quite know where to land. So it makes it a rewatchable. Yeah. Well put. Craig, thank you. I can't believe you hesitated. Yeah. You did great. Well, I just walked in and he was like, you're in the third chair. I was like, oh, I didn't prepare to host. He's like, it'll be fine. Tracy Letz doesn't hesitate. Tracy Letz is great. And have you seen I play Rocky? He's great. So you liked I play Rocky. That was really good. I was, I had low expectations. I thought I don't know what I was expecting. I thought it was. And the guy who played Stallone was realista. He's amazing in it. Really? Yeah. It's a real crowd pleaser. I'm excited for it. And there's a sports movie coming out too. The Mr. Oralvin. Oh, yeah, with what's his name? Maybe sports movies are making him come back. Yeah. I just didn't realize how interesting the Rocky story was. Like the whole negotiation about him with the studio. I didn't. It's pretty compelling. It was, it was like a story of legend, like around the town for just the amount for yourself.

It's an all time, then, and yourself. All time better. He's they offered him 25K for the script. He said, I know I want to star in it. And they went all the way up to $360,000 in 1974 for him not to star in the movie. And he still said no. And they ended up allowing him to star in the movie for $20,000. And nine years later, he ended the cold war. Don't ramble. That's what happens. Band, thank you, Craig. Thank you. Thanks to Gihau and Eduardo and Chris as well. Back next week on The Rewatchables.
