Knife, Lies, and a Campus Tragedy | Leicester News

A 19-year-old student, Harper Dennis, stands trial for the fatal stabbing of his former friend, Khaleed Oladipo, captured on dashcam footage. Claiming self-defense, Dennis says he grabbed a knife—belonging to Oladipo—that Oladipo lunged with during a heated argument over a failed financial scheme. Witnesses describe a struggle that escalated from playful banter to violence. The prosecution counters with evidence of a falling out and Dennis’s refusal to hand over his phone’s PIN, adding weapon possession charges. After seven days of testimony, the jury begins deliberations in this emotionally charged case that probes the line between self-preservation and deadly force.
