Hey now it's your brother brother Marcus with another edition of the Elements of Inspiration Show. Today we have a very special guest who is in here today and I'm so glad and excited that she's taking the opportunity to hang out with us very busy woman, a true woman of God and she's a borrower. For some of you you'll understand what that means in the moment. But right now ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Elements of Inspiration Show. None other than Kisha Brown Moore. How you doing? I'm wonderful. Thanks for having me. I'm so glad that you're here today. I mean you could be anywhere today. You know traveling doing something but you step into the studio today. So I'm glad about it. So tell me Kisha let's back up a little bit because I want people to know everything that they need to know about Kisha Brown Moore. Where are you from? You from Philadelphia, Los Angeles. I'm an act like I don't know you. I am from Willemboro. Oh so that's what I'm talking about. She is a borrower. A borrower girl. I like that right?
Is there a bunch of you guys? You know? I have two sisters and a brother. Okay. Alright and the sisters are definitely blessed by God. None of y'all are unattractive. All of y'all you know we got to keep the truth and we're going to speak the truth. So now what was it like for you growing up in Willemboro? I liked Willemboro. I mean it had it pros and cons but I mean we were pretty pretty good. Popular really because of my brother. My brother knew everybody. So you know it was like oh you knew Brown's sisters you know no one messed up with us because we didn't know. They couldn't talk to us anything because they knew who my brother was. It was pretty cool. Yeah yeah. So I want people to understand where you're from and you know high school and all those kind of things. And now when you left Willemboro because at some point you did leave right? What was that moment where you set up this time for me to roll up out of the borough? Let's see so I stayed in Willemboro all the way until I graduated from high school and
then shortly after that I met my husband. But that says it all. Yeah yeah yeah. That's it. We don't need nothing else. Yeah. And definitely I got to give it a shot out the end. He definitely got one of why would say one of the fights of Willemboro. You know you were well protected and you don't have reputation of craziness you know what I mean. And so that's a good thing. And so now as a life would do what it does you became a mom. You got married of course. Yes. And you became a mom. Yes. And of how many? Mother of nine actually well raised nine but my husband and I. And then later on we took in for. That's how you do it. And that's this is what I like about you you because I see your success you know from the outside looking at and you are always helping people you know I mean always always always
always and that's one of the biggest things that stands out to me is that you're one who really wants to see people be connected do well for themselves and mature spiritually. You know that's one of the things that I see and I was telling you why we were on the radio on one of the radio stations that you know I watched you on social media some time ago you know and how you wake up every day and doing some great things and you also have a women's group. I want to kind of get people to understand the authenticity of who you are. The women's group let's talk about how did you start like the women I don't say it's a woman's group or fellowship or you know. It's an organization I started it about seven eight years ago it's called Precious Gems. So you know growing up people have always been attached to me young girls always looked up to me. I can't remember going to church in between we used to have two services back then in between the services. Children always want to come over my house and hang out with me.
I would do little girls hair on my block and things like that. And so you know I started to realize that you know there was a reason why these children girls were connected to me and you know through prayer and everything the Lord led me to start this girls group called Precious Gems. And yes so that's where I am now with the girls group is all about empowerment teaching them to be who they are who they are called to be. And yeah. Yeah and I think that's that's an awesome thing because sometimes people they are people they become successful and they move on with their lives and they never look back. You know because you could have easily done that. I mean not being weird or funny but you could have easily just said I got mine. Go get yours. You know right right but you reach back into the community and you're still connecting the dots you know. Now I'm going to ask you crazy questions and then we're going to give it to some other stuff. How did you meet your husband Jay Moore? And you know I want to know I want to know because a lot of like choir reminds one of
no some jealous people. Wow. Well I met my husband actually through a friend. We both were going to the same church. Well actually he started going to the church first and one of the people he was close to in the church he was over their house and I was friends with that particular person and they brought him over to my house and they introduced us to each other and then one thing just led to another. And there you have it. Was he a preacher man then? No no no he was I think then he was a sound guy. Okay. Okay he was a sound guy. But definitely a good quality brother. Oh yes. You know what I mean? Yes. Because if he wasn't I'd be like Keesh. I didn't even know him. I didn't even you know I was there. I'm like get away from him. But so with him being in your life that was definitely you could say a match made in heaven. You know we all go through things and you know our marriage.
But you guys have been married for how many years? It's going on now 27 years. 27 years. Yes. Wow that's a lot of time. It's a lot of time. Why you look 27? To God be the glory. To glory be the God. Yes. I wish I had a Tamarina here so we could shake it. But so now as I you know I watch your life and I've you know always come in contact with you indirectly. You know like church events and just passing and you know we kind of have some people that we know that aren't common you know what I mean that are all wins and stuff like that. But it's good to see you prosper. It's good to see you become what I can put my stamp on the pride of Willembro a woman of substance and who loves other people you know how was it for you into coming into being an author. What was that like for you to being an author like you know. What does it feel like. Oh man it's such an accomplishment.
Just to be able to write a book you know it was always have been in my heart to do a passion of mine to write a book just you know to finally be able to do that was just so amazing you know I was just really overwhelmed that I was able to do that. Actually I am what I speak is actually my second book. I wrote a journal a few years ago when it was I am a affirmation journal. But yeah that that that journals are already out on Amazon. But yeah I have a few books in me so just being able to write a book is just it was amazing. I want to get back to your first book if that's okay. Okay. Like how was that to be a journalist so to speak you know you you created a journal. What was behind that thought when that when that was downloaded into your spirit. So I'm a big believer of affirmations so I am as a brand that I have.
And so I am affirmations it's that the journal has a bunch of affirmations in it and it has scriptures to go along with those affirmations just so people can recite those affirmations and those scriptures and and to believe that this is who you are and this is what God says concerning you. So that's powerful. Now the inspiration behind the new book that you have. How did that all come into play? So the new book so I was inspired to write that book actually through my husband. He's a powerful preacher. He preached a sermon called before you speak and that that sermon just resonated with me. I began to take notes and write a bunch of pages. It became pages and those pages became chapters and then I said you know I'm going to turn this into a book because this is so much in this that people need to hear about how we are to speak concerning ourselves so that's how it became.
Yeah and you speak over a lot of people's lives too. Yes. You know and one thing that I can say this with a certainty and assured. Every time I'm around you I feel good. Like I don't get any weird vibe. You know some people that have accomplished what you've accomplished who's gone through what you've gone through and you know you're still standing. That put it in firm on the word of God and you always make people feel more than welcome. You know what I mean? And I'm speaking because I'm a very sensitive person. Not sensitive like you say I'm a cry. You know what I'm saying. But sensitive to you know spiritual things and people and vibes that they give off. Every time I see you it's the same vibe. It's like yo bro like you know I'm saying so as you're writing this book you know the title of this book that was I would say brought to you through your husband sermon inspired by God that was packaged to you this way. What do you plan on you know connecting to your audience?
What is it that you really want them to gain from this book? Well I really really want them to understand how powerful your words are and that you have to be careful about what you say and knowing that what you speak what you say has the power to affect you in every area of your life. Now and one of your chapters I'm not going to give too much of your book away because I want people to get it for themselves and I'm gleam. But in chapter 8 but coming who God says you are there's a part where you talk about becoming requires movement. So could you share like maybe one or two thoughts on the becoming requires movement portion? Okay so there's a difference between no one who God says you are and walking like you believe it. You can say I am called but are you answering the call?
That right there. Yes you can say I am gifted but are you developing your gift? You can say I am an author but have you wrote in the book yet have you written the book? Have you started the process? You can say I'm an entrepreneur but have you started building? Oh don't give them too much. I got this book. Yes yes. Don't give me no more no no no no no no no no. I can get this book because it's going to be available everywhere by the time you know we put these microphones down. So that right there is powerful. I'm going to ask you this and you know I know you always answer me honestly. Are you a preacher? Can you preach? I am a preacher and I like to think that I can. I've been told that I preach. I know you can't. I know you can pound a tippa cake. I won't too much on one form but yes. That's the way I get it. We got the palm bumps. Go Jesus go for Jesus. But I'm asking this because I want people to understand the you know you are a well-rounded
person. I know so because you're a tripper and what I mean by that is a traveler. A world traveler. You travel everywhere. So I'm going to move the book to the side for a moment. Because I want people to understand you. Just Kisha not pastor Kisha not author Kisha just simply Kisha. What does Kisha really like to do when she's not having to be doing ministry, writing books, helping out other people. You know what I mean? I mean you'll never stop being a mom in a way. But when you can just be Kisha, what does Kisha really love to do? He should really love to just relax. I just love to enjoy being around my family, my loved ones and I love to travel. That's huge. A huge part of me. I love to get out there and travel the world. Yeah. And you know you love your family for sure. Oh yeah.
Because I believe when you were coming into the studio, it's not like you were talking to one of your kids. Yes I was. Yeah. That there. They can't give mama a break. Now I want to just ask this. We're going to do a bunch of little questions again because even though Kisha is this author, Kisha is this wife, Kisha is this preacher, Kisha is this prayer warrior, Kisha is a person. Oh yeah. You know, she's a person. Favorite place is to travel. You've been everywhere so I know it's why I'm different. Let's see. The Virgin Islands. I really enjoyed. Bimuda. Uh huh. Um, you've been a lot of places. Yes I have. Man, I'm about to ask you some really corny questions. Have you ever been, I'm going to ask them because you know we have them one up in here. Okay. Have you ever been to Las Vegas? Have I ever been to Las Vegas? Yes I have. Yes. Yes. All right.
See, man, I'm trying to get a note. Yes. You've been to Mexico. I've been to Mexico. Yes. Man, this is what I'm talking about. You've been to Alaska. I have not been to Alaska. You've been to go. That's my bucket list actually. Yeah, it goes to Alaska. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. What is like now that we know that you like to travel? You know, um, what does Kisha like to do? Like, do you, are you, are you like to cook? Not really? You know what? I have to be in a mood. I can cook. I can do it out. I can cook. Um, but it's not something that I like, you know, I would say I enjoy doing. But you know, I can do it. Rich people, normally, you know, I love people cooking for them. You know, what's your favorite type of food? Oh, I am a big pasta lover. Yeah. I love, yes, I love pasta. Oh, okay. All right. Italian food, maybe Italian food. Italian food. Yes. What about tofu? Sofoo, yeah. Absolutely. Just checking, you know, because you know, you get up at Shalana, traveling, and finances.
Yes. Yes. You know, I do not like tofu. Oh, yeah. I love so food as well. All right. So now the, I'm asking again, I want people to know who you are because you, one thing that you're not is not funny acted. One thing you're not is not stuck up. One thing that you are is not a person who's going to deal with no foolishness. Oh, no. You know, I'm saying. And so when it comes to the word of God, what is one of the favorite of your, one of your most treasured scriptures that you could say, this is, I like this particular scripture or it might change for you throughout, you know, throughout the seasons. I would, I would say one of my all time favorites is Philippians 4 and 13. I can do all things through Christ that strangers me. Wow. Yes, yes. Yeah. Knowing that there's nothing that I can't do without God. There's nothing that I can't accomplish. I can do anything that I put my mind through as long as I do it with God. I know that's right. That's what I'm talking about. And with you being the woman that you are, you know, how do you feel your influence
in the world? I feel like I'm influenced in the world by just being who I am, just being real authentic and just showing them through writing my books, through preaching, through mentoring, just showing them the love of God. And that's when it really comes down to is showing, you know, the love of God to people. Now I'm going to ask you this and I probably should have asked you this in the beginning. When, because I know my, you know, when I got saved, I'm always, I'm just weird like that. But how old were you when you said, you know what, Lord, I'm all yours. Let's see. So I've been in church all of my life since I was a little girl brought up in church. But when I really, really, I guess I got saved for myself to know, you know, coming to no one got for myself, I would say I was probably in my mid 20s. I would say I liked that 23, 24, you know. I would say I would say I would like to know God for myself, yeah. Yeah, because you know how it is when we grow up, we only know God from what's around us
or from the tells us. Yes, yes. But then there's a moment in your life where you have to kind of have this experience. How much of knowing them for yourself here. And you are definitely what you speak, you know, powerful woman, you know, no nonsense. And you know, I want to talk about the woman behind the words when we think about the book. Kisha, before you became this author, right? You know, what experiences shape your understanding for the power of the world? Or of your own words? Oh, well, so I mean, I've been through a whole lot. I'll tell you this, one thing I dealt with was fear. And so that was a big thing for me, overcoming fear and being able to step out and knowing that I can do what God has called me to do. And once I got a hold of that fear and I began to speak over that fear of my life, I was able to go out there and do what God has called me to do.
You know, no fear no longer had a grip on my life. That part right there, matter of fact, all of that. The other thing that I want to know was, you know, was there ever a season in your life when your words just didn't speak about yourself, but it reflected the person that you were trying to become. You know, like, you know, speaking into the future, like, you know, some of us we're dealing with the right here and right now, but there is a future Kisha, you know? Yes. So, you want to share that a little bit? Well, so being able to speak, you know, to the future Kisha, like that's something I had to learn. You know, that's because we speak all the time. You know, we say things every day, you know, every day words are coming out of our mouth. But, you know, we have to learn to speak intentionally, like watch what comes out of our mouth and realizing that, you know, what we say, you know, it becomes who we are, it becomes our future and, you know, over time I had to learn that.
So, continually speaking positive with my life, no matter what situation I was going through, no matter what circumstances I was going through, you know, speaking over that, you know, gave me the ability to conquer whatever it was that I was facing at that time. Yeah. And I have another question for you. Can a person unknowingly become a prisoner of their very own words that they speak every day? Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. Because what you say, you know, that affects you. Yeah. So, you can become a prisoner of your own words, you know, you can be lock yourself into that and really think that that is what, you know, whatever you say of your life that that's who you are. Mm-hmm. And, you know, me and you were talking on one of the radio shows and I was saying, you know, one of my favorite quotes is the way you run your mouth is the way you run your life. Oh, yes. And I see how you run your mouth because I see how you run your life. Positive, inspirational, encouraging, never discouraging, always helping people.
And that shows in how you have, you guys, you and your husband, a pastor, more have children together, but you also bring other, you're brought other people into the fold and continue to help people as, you know, time would allow it because you guys are getting in. Now, when I say this is not to say take it the wrong way, you guys are becoming more seasoned in age. You're not old. You're not old. Right, right. But I know that you're always going to have a space in place to help people, but do you ever try to find a way to duplicate yourself and some of the people that you've helped raise? Oh, yes, absolutely. Mm-hmm. Absolutely. I try to do my best to instill, you know, positive things in the children that I raise, even the God children and the spiritual children that God has given me, you know, always trying to steer them in the right direction. Yeah. And that's a big thing to do, especially, you know, with someone like yourself.
That's why it looks at all of the people that the children that you got, nine, ten, twelve, nine, 54, whatever it is. How, like, so that's why it's important for you to get away sometimes. Oh, yes. You know, do you ever feel guilty of, because you have so much on you that, do you ever feel bad? Like, I need to take a week or two weeks away from everything. Do you ever feel like survivors or some sort of, you know, like, I'm making it, I'm successful, I feel bad, because I can't be there for you guys, like, because you need to enjoy your life as well. Yes. No, I mean, I can't say no. I don't think so. No, I feel like, you know, it's important to get away. You have to have that time, that downtime, to just, you know, decompress and, you know, to get your own self together, you know, because, you know, life is life and so you got to take time to just breathe and just enjoy life for yourself sometimes. Now, let me ask you this. What words would you say to help shape families and relationships, you know, to people like,
because I know that you're an inspirationalist, period, no doubt about it. We ain't even questioning that. But what would you say to people that are really just struggling right now? And, you know, what would you say to them, to their families or to their relationships, or people in situationships? That's a whole different, you know, a category. What would you say to them to inspire them? I would just, I would say to them to keep holding on, like, holding on to God, knowing that, you know, that there's no failure in God. If you're a believer, you know, holding onto your faith, you know, faith is a big thing. And just knowing who God is and knowing that God is going to come through, never give up, just keep on keeping on because, you know, God is going to come through. He's a God that can't fail. So I would encourage you to just don't give up, just keep the faith. Yeah, absolutely. You know, I want to ask you this because when you become successful as you are in terms
of loving God, and that's when I talk about all of your other successes, everything really starts from your relationship with God. Yes. And as you become more successful in God, in God provides you with all the things that you have in life. And you guys are not materialistic. You just like nice things. It's just so, isn't that wrong with that? But when I ask you this, do you feel that some people might treat you a little differently? Like, I knew you from way back when, and now like, you know, you know, some people can be, I mean, how do you deal with that as being a positive inspirationalist? Well, honestly, I haven't had to deal with that yet. So, you know, fingers crossed, I won't have to. But, you know, it is what it is. I know people are going to be people. And, you know, I know that I got to where I am because of the grace of God. Amen. God has no prospective person. If he did it for me, he can do it for you. So there's no need for you to be jealous of me for any reason. I'm not jealous of you.
Again, you know, God has something preaching every one of us. So I'm just trying to do my best to go after what God has for me. Yeah. And, yeah, that's why I am in life. Yeah, you wanted a brown girl. Is anybody like that for me? You ain't got to be jealous of no one. Brown girls is in the house. I was like, you know, it just took me somewhere else. You know I'm half crazy for the Lord. And so being this inspirationalist, being this author, you know, what do you see coming next for your literary works? What's your next steps? Okay. So my next step is to actually I want to make this book, this I am, what I speak, words of power for. I want to turn this into a conference. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I'm looking to do in 2027. I want to make this into a conference because again, this is, I believe this is something so powerful and that, you know, everybody needs to know this word, needs to, you know, hear it. And everybody again can, I think, can learn from this.
Oh, yeah. There's something that we all can get from this. Men, women, children, boy, girl, everybody. So yeah, I'm looking to turn this into a huge conference. And it's going to be crazy because when you were just giving a little increment of the book, I'm like getting goosebumps. I'm like, no, no, no, no, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, you know, I'm about to say, just read the whole book. Just read it, you know, and, but this is awesome. And this is the first of many. This is the second book. Yes. This is your second written book. Your first one was a journal. A journal. Yes. But, you know, in my world, a book is a book, you know, but that was a journal. This is a book. Right. And there's going to be other things happening from this book. Yes. Do you have something inside of you right now that's saying, here's, you know, book number three coming. Oh, yes. I already have another book already in the works. Oh, okay. Oh. I've been working on it. Actually, I actually started that book first before my journal and before this book. Wow. But that book is a little personal.
And so it's taking me a little longer to get that book together. But yeah, that is in the works. Yeah. I just feel that it's going to be a very revealing uplifting book. And it's one that needs to be told because the way you said, look, you know, that book was the first. Yes. That's like the baby of the baby. Oh, yes. That's going to probably raise some eyebrows. I'm sure. And it's going to quicken some people's spirits. And folks are going to have to get it together, you know, because this is a part of you that's really being ripped out. I feel that you're putting out there. So go ahead, take your time with that and continue to pray. So the other thing, I have a couple more things I want to ask you. First of all, how can people get in touch with you to stay connected? But here's my disclosure, everybody in America. She gives you this information, use it wisely. John Moore is in the building. That's all I got to say. John is like, that's for you.
I'm on social media. I'm on all the social media platforms. So you can follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok and all those, you know, avenues and reach out to me. You know, it's crazy. You know, we've known each other, you know, through the years. And you're a humble person with writing books, being on all these platforms that you're about to be on. How are you going to deal with the popularity? Well, you've always been popular in school. It's kind of like the same, but a little bit more wilder. How do you think you're going to be able to deal with all of the popularity of the fame? Because I know you really don't care for that stuff, you know, but when you step into this next level, this is the kind of stuff you're going to do. You know, are you ready for that? I'm ready. I'm ready. I'll be able to handle what the help of God. I'll be able to do it. Plus you with the. Got a little hood in me from the girls. Just a little bit of it. Just a little bit of it. Yeah, you know, saying she's her hood softened up a little because she traveled around a lot. Now, how can people, you know, connect with you like through cash app and all of that?
If you don't mind us putting that out, that's okay. Oh, yes, I put up my cash app so that my cash app is dollar sign. First lady, Keisha. So that is the word first F I R S T lady L A D Y and then Keisha is spelled K I S H A. There you go. Make sure y'all support what she's doing because again, and I don't endorse a lot of people. And I'm not being weird or anything like that. But I know the authenticity of your characters. You know, everybody support what she's doing. It's not about her. Believe me when I tell you she's not doing and selling the books because she needs the money. This ain't a money grant for her. This is a ministry that's going to help build other things and other people's lives because your door is always open to helping people. You know, have you ever helped somebody and they did something like really crazy to you and you're like, wow, and had your husband look and like, what in the world? You know. I have stories on that. That's going to be a book in itself.
That's going to be a book in itself and we're going to give you all the exclusive because we can talk about that. You did my dirty. Well, yes. Yeah. But anyhow, I want to say thank you because you have really been an awesome guest. And you know, and I know how you guys roll. Y'all busy. And for you to even take the time out to come hang out on the elements of inspiration. Show I so appreciate that. And I want to extend this to you. You're always welcome to come back on any of the platforms that I have because of what you do and how you do and just how you love people. Pairy, you know, so y'all better stop trying to treat my girl wrong even though they don't. I'm just putting that out there and extra do's. You want to give any shout outs to anybody before we go? I want to shout out my husband, shout out my children and KRC, my church family love you all. And her sister. Yeah. And my sister. Yeah, absolutely my sister. You know, I'm so crazy. I love y'all family. I love y'all family. I love y'all family. All right, everybody. We'll be right back. We've got more of the elements of inspiration. Show our special guest today was none other than Kisha Moore.
