You are listening to us on Building Fortunes Radio. This is the Cal News Radio Show on the Building Fortunes Radio Network.
We are here every Thursday at 8.30 p.m. Eastern time for the opportunity to be able to give you guys some updates on the public access media network project that Terry's been working on. And for those newer people that might have listened in, this all started. The radio show started a little bit more than a year ago as a result of a conversation that I had with Terry. And I had called him and was talking to different entrepreneurs asking for some of their ideas, opinions, suggestions. And I was really interested in some of the things that happened with COVID and the reactions to COVID. And when we started speaking, he was in the middle of driving somewhere. So we had a couple hours for me, he said. And I said, OK, well, let's have this conversation. We started talking about a couple of things. And I said, you know, I know you're driving. I want to be able to give you an email address. So when you get some, or I'll send you an email, but when you get it, at least you know where it comes from. And I bought Peter.News as a domain name a long time ago. So I could have a simple to remember email address for me
on them. It would be Peter at Peter.News. And when I gave him that, he kind of chuckled a little bit. And he says, oh, you like to dot news domain names. I'm like, oh, yeah. I was an early adopter. I jumped in. I bought a couple of them. I own MLM.News and health coach.News and a few of the other ones as well. And he said, well, I like to dot news too. And he started rattling off some of the dot news domain names that he owns. And for some of you, you might be listening in. You might be saying, I didn't even know dot news was a domain name extension. Well, it is. And he started rattling off some. And I don't remember which ones he gave me first. But I was impressed. I'm like, darn, you got that too. Wow, that was a good one. And he said another one. And then another one. And then another one. I'm saying to myself, what in the world are you going to do with these? These are really good. And the pattern was, he was developing, if you will, a niche market, almost like monopoly on the different domain names. And I just was out of curiosity. Now, buying them and registering is one thing. What are you going to do with them?
And then when he started telling me, I was like, wow. No one's ever done anything like this before I was thinking. And I was like, wow, that was really good. And then he started going over some other ones. I'm like, how many domain names do you have? And it was somewhere between a couple of thousand and a couple of million. I think it was crazy for a number of domain names in the ad. And when we started speaking, I said, here's the issue. We should really do some radio shows on this because what you're doing is so unique and to the best of my knowledge has never been done before. So a lot of people will have a hard time grasping it. And they might not also understand who you are and how long you've been working on this. So we should do some radio shows, and he agreed. And he picked up the domain name hell.news, k-e-l-l.news. And I asked him, why kale.news? I figured maybe Terry Keller had something to do with him. He said, well, my friends call me kale. And I said, well, that's a good thing. Let's call you kale.news. So that's what we do. We post these radio shows over the last year on kale.news.
And you'll be able to listen to what kind of documenting, if you will, the progress and some of the things where it could be applied to in the real world. And we are here today to tell you that Terry Keller is coming so much closer to having this launched within the second quarter of 2026. And I'm so excited to have him here. So Terry, thanks for being here on your own radio show. Well, thank you, Peter. I appreciate the intro. We've done it a few times now, I guess. Yeah. And we're getting very close. As you know, I was bringing the architect for this. I had to hire an architect to design my vision. And his name is Frank Clark. And I brought him out from where he resides, which is in San Diego.
And he's here now for the next couple of months, so we get this up and into the market. And we're working on the final touches of how this looks and feels. The back end is pretty much done, and according to Frank. And it's all there. Now it's a matter of showcasing how they come together and how they work and the content behind them, et cetera, part of this mission is encompassing the pet channel market, which is the public education government channels that were typical of Able, which is going away, because people are buying into the packages that Able offered anymore, which is how they were funded these pet channels, which are the local cable channels
that offered your local town, council, and so on. Those meetings and anybody could go to a pet channel and put up a local show or distributed, however, why they wanted to through the pet channel market. I knew someone actually who did a children show. It was called Ranger Rick. And he sang songs and did things with young children. And it was quite popular in the area. It was kind of a take off on something that was done when I was young, which was Ranger Andy. But that's another story. Excuse me. I've got kind of a cold today, as opposed to some other health issues I've had. But anyway, things are good. I'm real happy with Frank. He's someone of a character. But that's OK. His talent speaks with self.
He's someone of an AI specialist. And today in that market, you need someone. His background is that he built for the former founder of Ancestry.com. He was the architect for a project that he built called Citizen Portal AI, which does some of what we do, which is an aggregate, the legislatures and small towns and some towns, and uses that content to deliver questions or content that are important to you as a member or to the community that it serves. And so we're doing something similar. As a matter of fact, that's how Frank bound me, or I found Frank called me and telling me that we are a partner
because I own the real estate, town government, news, state legislature, news, et cetera. It's a long list, as you know, Peter. But we're getting close to be able to deliver the start of the vision. And I'm looking forward to the next month or two that we're finally able to launch and beta the project to the public and expand to a national market. How to have fun anytime, anywhere. No for just necessary VGW group void for prohibited by law of 21-bloss terms and conditions apply. Excellent. So I can't help but make fun a little bit of the weather change. So Frank was in San Diego and you might as well abroad into Siberia because yeah, you're right. I gave him a friend of mine years ago. It gave me a very heavy wool blanket. And I gave him kind of a sleep, a quilt to use. And I said, well, that over there is a wool blanket if you need any more. And when he put it on, he immediately saw me dexed after having opened up the wool blanket. He said, this isn't just wool. This is really something. And it's quite warm and he's very happy with it. And he's acclimating.
OK, not leaving the house much. Unfortunately, he's a cigarette smoker. So he has to go outside to smoke. But that's his own issue. Somebody gave him some work boots and stuff like that when they knew he was coming here. So he's kind of, he's got the gear. But it's something to hold being coming from San Diego to get out of it. Yeah, so for those people who've never been in San Diego before, you don't even ask what's the weather like because it's always perfect. And then you go to Connecticut where it's freezing. Like actually, I don't know if it has he ever seen water freeze naturally? Excuse me.
Excuse me. I think so. He worked for a time in Colorado. So I think he lives in San Diego because he's a little older in the temperate climate. If you're a good pro, it's like living in Florida without the humidity, right? Right. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you don't even, you don't even ask what the weather is like. It's perfect, every day. Yeah. So anyways, so the cool thing is that now it's good to have the focus and all that sort of stuff of really what you know what it is. It's on right there to answer any questions, right? And, and we get to know each other better. That's important. And, you know, from a distance, it was one thing. But now that he's here, we get to talk about where and what it is and what some of the questions on the vision that he didn't quite understand that I had and how I wanted it.
And some of the things that we did, how he's utilizing them, I did a whole suite myself of wireframes for this on the different topics and the services. So we're adjusting to each other. What's actually feasible and what's not and from my vision to reality. But, you know, we'll get there eventually. I'm encouraged. I think we're, we're, we're, we're ending. We're entering the final phase. And very shortly, we're going to be able to be into the beta area and implementing it to the first congressional district. That's the second or third in first in Massachusetts. The first in Connecticut and the second in Connecticut are, because they're right around where I live.
I think we can work with them simultaneously. The sub-tounds will a lot of participate right out of the tube. Others won't. So, you know, wherever we go, where we go is going to be determined by the reception. And I'm just now reaching out to the congressional offices to their press people to show them what it is that's coming at them. And we have a very important election cycle coming on the next November. So, we're going to be right in tune with that nationally. So, it's very important that we work with their offices. I think politics and government are the strong suits on what we're trying to accomplish. It's building better communities. That's our mantra. And I think it's going to be special. Excellent. So, for those people that are listening in,
Harry's got a whole, I don't remember how many categories. I think there's like 22 or 23 separate areas of money, about 20 that these things fit into whether it's sports or religion or shopping or government stuff and a whole bunch of other things as well. By us doing our radio shows, I'm working with a whole bunch of people over in New Hampshire. Our basketballcoach.news radio show is really going to be something I think is going to plug into this because we have people that are basketball coaches, but they're also community leaders. They're working with young men and young women and they're working with a lot of these basketball teams are working out of community centers. So, people are doing like community centers for not only the basketball, but also for the community in general, they have like a gym and the people go to it and other kinds of activities like gymnastics and stuff like that. So maybe you could weave a little bit of the explanation of the applications for this project
towards people like that that are in a community and they're dealing with high school and athletics and kids getting ready for college and all different kind of sports and again, community where people probably that have older kids and then basketball might have younger kids that might need it as well. So how could this public access media network be able to work with and help this group of people in a certain community? And again, they're a new hamster. Well, excuse me, you know, there's just so many facets to this. The government and politics piece of this is its focus is on not being an algorithm hotbed for putting words and people's mouths.
So this is gonna be something that is generated by users and closely monitored to take down the temperament of our communities that the national press and the current administration have pushed us into. My goal really is to build better community, as I've said. And the only way to do that is to get people interacting on issues and with the idea of understanding and developing a, my thought process, my thought and my belief is that there is very little disagreement truthfully. I think that there are plenty of room for common ground so that we can come back and talk to each other
and build better policy that serves the general public at all. The thing about the world today is that it's more important at the local level, what's going on, that it is at the national. How about I give you a, for instance, my count, Edfield, Connecticut, it's school board or the superintendent of schools spent money to the two to $5.6 million with the idea that he would be reimbursed by the federal or state government. From the federal, through the state to the town. Well, that didn't happen because of Trump dismantling the education department. He froze all those funds, they were never released. Now the school department owes the count $5.7 million
because they operate separately. Everybody thinks it's, oh, it's just government. Well, it's not. Everybody's accountable for themselves. So now they've come up with some formula that they're going to be able to repay this $5.7, $6 million over a certain period of time by taking out $1.8 million out of their budget. To put back into this fund that was never executed. So that's a local issue now. Somebody, ultimately, who pays those bills? The taxpayer. It's not the school board. It's, maybe they can save some money. More often than not, people are stuck with the infrastructure that they were given. So it's not that they're going to be able to really cut. They may be able to, but then who suffers the kids?
So somewhere it's got to be made up. And it's a local issue. The town should be able to weigh in on it. They're not. As a matter of fact, they were given some excuses that, oh, everything will be fine. Reality is it's not. It's going to be a major issue for a number of cut of years. So better minds have got to prevail. And the only way to achieve that is by discussion. Close doors make for bad policy. And obviously it has come to that. But changing that is not going to be continuing by not discussing a way out. Somebody's going to come up with an idea. The only way to hear it is by communication. And if it's only a small group, the odds of them coming up with those answers is very slim and done. So the wider that birth, the wider the discussion,
the better off it'll be for the community at large. You'll agree, Pete. I do. Absolutely. And that's what we're offering. We're offering a number of ways for towns to now communicate in ways that they never have before. We're expanding that public access channel that was on cable and making it interactive and really bringing it up to the code of present day AI and public service. So I have nothing unless I have the trust of the communities I serve. The only way for me to, I thought for me to gain that was to work with some people that we're already doing it, but we're struggling to keep themselves going. And that was the peg channel market, public education and government. So that's how we started to build the infrastructure for this.
And from it, we came out with the town Bulletin, which is Town Bulletin News. So it'll be like in my town. It'll be the Edfield.town Bulletin News. In New York, it might be the Bronx.Vero Bulletin.News. Or New York.CityPulletin.News. We're trying to meet people where they live. And that's on the ground. And in many different ways through politics and government education, religion, the faith access network, interfaith media, and a different faith-peace faith news positions were providing the Muslim faith news, the Catholic faith news, the Jewish faith news,
all intended to serve their congregations, but also to give them an interfaith media, to give them a way to work for the common good within their community. To come together, no one's going to convince someone of the Indian extraction from changing religions, from Hindu to Catholic. JD Vance has got that problem right now, doesn't he? His wife, Usha, does not want to convert to Catholicism, because she's a Hindu. She was brought up in that culture. That's who she is. There's no changing that. We'd like Ram, mother, found out that I was going to a congregational church and found a home there spiritually. She said to me, you will always be a Catholic. Well, she's right. I will always be a Catholic, but my other grandmother
was a non-practicing congregationalist. Her family goes all the way back to the Florence, Lewis and Clark. She was a Higgins, which is an English name, but has a lot of history to it in our country. But anyway, my understanding is that this is going to be something unique. And I'm looking forward to its launch. And I think it's going to have a good impact on local community. And obviously, we're going to have problems. It's not going to be easy. When you put a town bulletin or a town chat, you're opening yourself up to the crazies of the world who might use it as a bully pulpit for things that are not important or not on target.
We think that with AI, if people get out of context, that if you start talking about Trump on the town bulletin, a little AI is going to come up or a little message will come up and say, this conversation doesn't belong here, you should go to a political chat, which we also provide where I was able to buy a number of domains at the chat.chat feature that are topic-driven through the categories of topics that we're covering through the public access speed of that work. Well, let's do this. Let's take a quicky commercial break. For those people listening in, you're just listening to Terry Callagher, he's the founder of this project, and we're going to be right back. Peter Mingles here with Terry Keller. We're talking about the public access media project. And in reference to, I always like to continue to ask some local issues. They're talking about having some severe weather across the United States over the next weekend, if you will, where it's going to get super cold. And I would imagine if it's super cold, there's probably going to be people needing to communicate, pool resources together. But people know about events that might be happening or not. So how will your public access media network be able to help coordinate things that probably will happen over the next weekend? Well, there's obviously the town chat will be able to be able to get the word out
that you work your car indoors, stay off the street, the weather is not going to be amenable to your travel needs. So park yourself for the weekend. It's a matter of, you know, and then, obviously, we'll have e-bales and for those who want to have weather updates also, you know. But, you know, I'll tell you, we're really not going to be too adept with weather, because you can get that by calling the weather channel. What we're really trying to master is, obviously, the other part of this is we'll have school closings, those types of news. But as far as the weather itself, we're going to rely probably on the weather channel or, you know, those resources that are pre-existing
to get that message out. We're not reinventing the wheel. We're just presenting in a way that's useful to the community and trying to make it better with the technology available. And I happen to buy the job aids to give you the real estate and the heel controls the news controls the story. So I think the stories and good hands with my team. And we'll, you know, the people that we're involved with have dedicated themselves over the decades of working with cable that they'll be able to migrate to a larger platform and benefit and keep those peg channels alive, as well as expand from the technology that we're offering through the venues of the dot news channels, of the dot TV, and which are streaming channels, state legislature
TV, town government TV, et cetera. There's about 80 different streaming channels. We have a different topics. So it's quite a robust platform that we're building. Obviously, it's not all going to be up at once when we come out of the shoot. But we have plenty of room to grow. And we think that growth will benefit our members and the communities that we serve. Excellent. OK, good. Well, we're looking forward to this. What kind of progress do you suspect you're going to have over the next week or two? And well, I think that's it. I think that Frank, when he came here, he said, you know, really, I've just got to pull the pieces together. And him being here with me will help finalize my thought process in making it reality. The backend technology is there.
The fundamental infrastructure has been created. The domains are all loaded into the databases. The functionality is there. Now it's a matter of presenting it in a way that's intended through my vision. And the only way to get that is to sit with me and to fire it out the final facts of what I've been telling him. But, you know, it's hard to vision something unless you're really close to it. The only one really close to it is me, because I'm the one who's been thinking about it for the last 25 years. Absolutely. I've been involved a year. So he doesn't quite have all the answers. He's relying on me to come up with that vision. Now that we're together, I think it's a lot, he says. It's a lot of help having me around that, you know, I can answer some of the issues and problems that he had really considered.
So anyway, that's it. Excellent, excellent. So we're going to be back next week. At the same time, we'll hear more about what's happening with the public access media network. And I'll continue to be talking on the outside to the people that I'm talking to about the application of this. We have a lot of people that are super excited to test this out there in the beta stages. And then eventually I have this launched and I know it's going to be around and active in the summer and in the fall. It's going to be really important for the elections and a lot of other things as well. Some of the vacations, next holidays for sure. So, looking forward to it. So having said that, Terry, I'll let you wrap it up. Well, everybody be safe. They'd be happy, especially with the weather coming. You know, around the world, you're not getting this, this would or so business, but it's kind of a port to us. Anyway, everybody be safe and happy, and we'll see you next week. Thank you, everyone.
