Katy Perry Faces Sexual Assault Allegation, Past Videos Resurface

0:00It's April 20th. This is Entertainment and celebrity news today. AI powered stories from the spotlight. Old clips from 2012 are blowing up online, showing Katy Perry grabbing 18-year-old Justin Bieber's butt backstage at a London concert. She was 27 then, malved, sorry Selena, to the camera, nodding to his girlfriend at the time. In another moment from the same show, she kissed a 14-year-old fan on stage, even though he pulled away looking uncomfortable. These videos resurfaced right after Australian actress Ruby Rose accused Perry of sexually assaulting her back in 2010 at a Melbourne nightclub. Rose, now 40, says it took her 20 years to speak out, sharing her story on social media this week. Perry was partying with her that night, and Rose mentioned getting drunk after being sober. Fans and critics are split, with some calling the clips creepy, and others defending Perry as just playful back then. The Bieber touch and fan kiss have people debating consent and power dynamics in pop culture, especially with stars and younger folks involved.

1:03Perry's team points out Rose has made similar claims before that God denied. Perry hit back hard, calling the assault allegation categorically, false, dangerous, and reckless lies through her spokesperson. No comment directly from her yet on the videos, but she's facing fresh heat from all this. Victoria Police in Australia are investigating Rose's claim as a historical sexual assault case from that nightclub. It's ongoing, so details are tight, but this whole saga keeps the spotlight on Perry's past actions.
