Kat Graham Out of Michael Jackson Biopic, Legal Issues Strike

0:00On April 29th, Cat Graham just dropped a big update on the Michael Jackson Viall Pick. She won't be in it after all. The actress was set to play Diana Ross, but her scenes got cut from the final version ahead of the April 24th release. Graham shared on social media that legal issues took out those parts, even though the team fought to keep the story intact. She got cast back in 2024 to portray the Supreme's legend, who crossed paths with Michael during projects like The Wiz in 1978. The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Jaffa Jackson as his uncle, covers Michael's climb from the Jackson 5 days through the bad era, hitting highlights like Motown 25 and Thriller. Fuqua aimed to show the man behind the myth, calling Michael a transcendent artist, with a real emotional depth. Jaffa drew from family stories to nail his uncle's essence, and Nia Long, playing Catherine Jackson, stressed how the cast wanted to honor the real person. The movie's journey wasn't smooth or ports, from 2025 point to reshutes and edits over

1:02legal hurdles tied to old allegations the estate. Denies. Stuff like a 1993 police raid scene also hit the cutting room floor. With the film finally rolling out, it promises a focus look at Michael's highs and heart, minus some key cameos, but still chasing that true vibe. Everyone involved chased so hard.
