This is Steve Covino from Covino and Rich. Quick trivia fellas, every guy listening is contestant. Answer honestly to yourself. You got a belly in a little chest, gassed by the afternoon, no drive left in the tank, you lack that confidence and mental edge. Those are classic signs that your testosterone's been sliding. And nothing drags it down faster than extra weight. So why not take matters into your own hands? Shrip off the weight that tanks your testosterone with Bioma, GLP1 booster. Every serving is packed with science-packed ingredients that crank up your natural GLP1 production. Visit bioma.health slash GLP1 and use code CR Show for 15% off your first order. Live from the heart of the nation's capital, this is a Jim Acosta Show special report. All right, welcome to the Jim Acosta show. It is now 28 days until the midterms in America. Of course early voting starting in a lot of places. But Donald Trump has stepped in at big time just four weeks
before November 3rd at a rally in Nebraska. He suggested that Iran could strike L.A. and San Diego in a nuclear attack. It has obviously dropped a rhetorical bomb in the middle of this campaign. Let's talk about it. The governor of California Gavin Newsom is here. Governor Newsom, good to see you. Thanks for coming on. My honor, Jim. I'm sorry to be under these circumstances, but this is a hell of a thing. It is a hell of a thing. And we're used to Donald Trump saying these unhinged, deranged things and it gets explained away. And unfortunately a lot of people in the media, they sort of do the White House bidding here and sanitize and normalize this stuff. I guess what did you hear about that? How soon did you hear about this after he said it? What was your response? Well, let me just jump right into what you just said. This is not, it goes without saying this is not normal. I mean, that's table stakes. This is madness, but it's also genderless and it has consequences.
And let me be very specific about that. I got a call first thing this morning from the head of my office of emergency services. And they were already tracking more activity as it relates to cyber concerns that we've been tracking for some time. All of us, every major state's dealing with cyber security issues. But now with new intelligence coming in, I don't want to overstate that, but I'm not going to understate the impact of the words of the President of the United States. And so as a consequence, our state operation center had to be lit up because of what the president said about taking out two of the most popular cities in the most profoundly consequential cities in the United States of America. And one of the most military rich cities, San Diego in the United States of America. Right. I guess we should play the sound just so the viewers have a sense of what he said. And I don't see how you can clean this up, honestly. Let's play in this topic. With the words just artificial, it's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay for keeping the world safe,
keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. That's, this is the first of all, right, to pay. And it's going to be all in the same. It's essentially almost over with. And they might keep going a little long, you know? Yeah, Governor, I mean, you know, he jumps to, you know, naming California cities. I mean, that's the thing that stands out to me. And then the way that the crowd applies to this, it's sickening. Yeah. The only way to describe it is sickening in the president of the United States. What kind of deranged mind even says those things out loud? He didn't say him with a lot of ironing, didn't say what a smile on his face. Didn't seem to be a big punch line. But they're 130,000 military personnel down in San Diego that may take it a little bit differently. It's where the Navy seals train. It's Camp Pendleton. This is Miramar. It's also one of the most robust and enriched research and development sites and planet earth and scripts and salt and Caltech and Los Angeles and USC.
You see, I mean, what the hell is he saying? There's a great mission slip. And this is the thing. And I think this is really important. You've been, you talk about this more than anybody. Once a mind is stretched, it never goes back to its original form. And he starts, when he says these things, they have consequences. Back to words matter. It creates a framework in different conversations. And don't think for a second our adversaries aren't listening to that and try not to manipulate it. And we're seeing it again, real life consequence of governor of the state of California, having to open the office, our state operations center because of the incoming we're getting as it relates to cybersecurity. But and so this is just outrageous. And this is the, it's got to stop. And you know what's the worst part, Jim? Sorry to blame us. Where the hell are you, JD Vance? Where are you, Speaker Johnson? Where are you Marco Rubio? The great Marco Rubio? Where are you? Why are you calling this out? Why are you condemning this?
Yeah, Rubio was supposed to be the one who was going to normalize Trump and, you know, keep the wheels on and so on. Keep us safe. This is a way of keeping us safe, keeping the American people safe. I mean, this is the, by the way, these are, these are, these are also cities that are 10 pull of the US economy. By the way, California is about 18%, 17 and a half percent all the job so far, this year in the country. And by the way, reason that the president is even able to claim to any credit that he's trying to least absorb because of the stock markets primarily because of companies that come out of the West Coast, the United States. Companies are founded in the great state of California. Yeah, and so when Governor, when the White House says the rapid response team, they jumped into it and they went off on the LA Times. And they're saying, no, no, no, when he says a small price debate, he's talking about gas prices. Okay, that might be the case, but why even bring up the scenario of these cities being, any city, any American city being attacked? I mean, this is, I'm sorry, I'm old enough to remember. And I know you remember, I think most people listening,
watching your old left remember, this guy took 700 active duty Marines and didn't send him overseas, sent him to the second largest city in the United States of America in Los Angeles last year, took 4,000 National Guard and federalized and put him on the streets of Los Angeles to terrorize our diverse community. So it's consistent. That's the, that's the perverse part about it. It's not anomaly, this is not a one off. This is, this is the same guy that has turned his back on the American people, Tornace Sundar because of those winter fires that we had last January, where he's lifted a finger, hasn't done a damn thing for the people, the American people that lost their homes, lost their community, their way of life, didn't do a damn thing, same president. Yeah. So this is, it's a pattern. And so, you know, all due respect to the White House press office, you can't explain this one away again. You can't, you're not allowed to. Yeah. And I guess, what do you, I mean, to me it boils down to,
do we have a 25th Amendment crisis in this country, do you think? We have a problem with the president of the United States. By any other, if this was anyone else, you can't create them on the curve anymore. The answer's un-equivical and absolutely yes. But so, so, the idea that you can, you're asking that question and I'm having a response that's not flip, of course it is, because it actually is, like objectively it is. Yeah. And it's, again, it's a pattern. And it's in the only, the only thing we can do to stop it, because it ain't going to be bestened stopping it. And ain't going to be these guys are countenance in all of this madness and are part of the great grift and the Wicca family, Luckha family and the Trump junior and everybody else is enjoying this great grift. It's we the people, this November. It's the only thing we have left. We, the people making bad news. I was in Congress. Yeah. What is the message in the midterms? Because I know you, you were out there, you're not running this time around.
But what's the message to folks out there? It's the same message that our founding fathers lived and died by. And they took the best of the Roman Republic Greek democracy, Co-Equal Brand, Co-Equal Branches of Government, Popular Sovereignty, the rule of law, not the rule of dawn, about a system of checks and balances. It's all in the line, our Republic, our democracy, our way of life. It's not hyperbolic, it's not overstated. And by the way, when I'm out on the road, people don't think it's hyperbolic and overstated. I mean, it's, you know, the people literally are coming up in record numbers and you're seeing every, every elected official will say this. There's nothing to do with me. But they're coming up and they not only want to be seen and heard, but Jim, this is the most interesting thing. A lot of folks want to be held. It's honestly, you always have a number of two owners. Like people, honestly, and the great thing is, they also have each other and people are showing up. And it's all on the line as we draw the line, November. And I know you got to go, but I mean,
are you concerned that he's not even going to recognize these election results that he's going to try to pull a fast one like we saw around January 6th? Am I concerned about? I mean, we lived it. And we said it was a preview of things to come when he sent the board, tech teams down last November in front of Dodger Stadium. These are the board of patrol tactical units. The Apache helicopters, he sent out in department of justice, observers so that he can file a lawsuit. He sent out a tweet and released a true social. The morning election, saying the election was ready. He tried to raid our voting roles first over a year and a half ago in California to try to analyze our vote by mail. This guy tried to wreck democracy light. This country on fire January 6th, out for 12. Am I worried about it? You better believe it. We all are worried about it. But we're also doing something about it. Tens of millions of dollars we put in to some of our election protection efforts, new felony status for anybody that tries to get in the way of chain of custody. We're not screwing around in California, nor can any state screw around as we do everything to preserve our republic this November.
All right, Governor Gavin Newsom. Thanks a lot. Really appreciate it. Thanks for doing this so fast. Thanks, Jim. Good to be with you. Good to see you. Thank you, sir. And that was California Governor Gavin Newsom with a very quick response to the White House trying to play clean up on aisle 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue after Donald Trump stepped in it big time after suggesting that Iran could carry out a nuclear strike on Los Angeles and San Diego. The White House is trying to clean all of this up. I guess Trump just a little while ago within the last hour or so went out in front of the cameras. And he was asked about this by reporters. A reporter asked him about his comments, whether he still stands by them. He did not respond. I think we have this video of this. Let's play this. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
No response. He made some kind of glib comment at the end there. So Donald Trump being asked about it by reporters just a few moments ago. And he had, he basically had no response to this. He knows absolutely, positively 100% that he has caused a major political crisis for the Republican party heading into the mid terms. I had a chance to speak about this with the great Rick Wilson and the great Molly John fast earlier today. Here's that conversation. Guys, it is great to see you. And I knew as soon as he said this, they were going to jump into this like, you can't say this. Don't take it out of context. He was killing. Yeah, exactly. And I just Rick, I was on with Molly earlier. We taped a thing for mom. I'm really sick and tired of the same washing and the sanitizing and the normalizing of this. This is a 25th amendment moment. The president of the United States should not ever be talking about this ever, no matter what the context is, just it shouldn't
happen. It wasn't a joke. It wasn't set in in an attempt to own the lives. This came out of his brain. Yeah, his brain is broken. This guy is not mentally well. He is he talks from a very dark place all the time, but this is as dark as it gets. You don't joke about a country with whom we are at war that he started. You don't joke about that country attacking American citizens on American soil. It's not even it doesn't even approach being funny. Yeah. Molly, your thoughts. Yeah. I mean, I also think this war is wildly unpopular. It's made everything much more expensive, right? Gas prices are more expensive. Diesel. Everything people are just suffering. And you have farmers going out of business. And then you have Donald Trump who's trying to justify it
again and again. And so he invokes something that is just catastrophic. Yeah. And the other thing too, I mean, I just don't get why this isn't a moment when all of the networks, all the news organizations, all the newspapers just finally say enough is enough. That's where I sort of hit this moment last night where I said, this movement, this cult movement of Donald Trump, let's play the video because it's not just Trump saying it. It's the crowd reaction that is equally disturbing. With the war, just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay for being the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. That's, this is the first of all price to pay. And it's going to be all in the nursing. It's essentially almost over and they might keep going a little long. You know, they always say they're a big threshold for pain. They need it. Let me tell you, they need it.
But it's going to end very soon. And it'll end one way or the other and you're gas and you're gasoline and all of the things. And the other thing, I mean, Molly, it clearly seems like he's in panic mode, you know, and I think that's driving this too. I mean, also it's interesting to watch the crowd not have any idea to do here, right? Well, that's true. It sounds bad, but we're not applauding. I mean, I think they, there's also something here about how he's right. You know, he's talking about California being hit LA and San Diego. Right. Diego, but San Diego is again, and we talked about this before, is the purple state. I mean, kind of Republican. Yeah. Right. The thing I'm, or a purple district, the thing I'm struck by is like, truck, we have all these clips of Trump saying pretty crazy stuff like this and then to shove it out their asses, right? That thing was pretty crazy. And, and it strikes me that you do see the audience, which by the way, is smaller in all of these arenas seem smaller and
smaller and redder and redder, which is like, there is this sunset boulevard kind of contingent component to this. Like this is his last tour, you know, he's like touring and tour. He's like the dead, but they've hit like the sort of the brain dead. Anyway, but so I do think, but, but you do see him saying more and more in hinged stuff and unhinged stuff and the, in the audience doesn't quite know if they should cheer. Yeah, Rick, the other thing Rick is, I don't know what you're going to say there, but I mean, to the White House people were like, Oh, you're taking out of context and all this. The guy running for the district in San Diego that is up for grabs right now, Republican candidate running for San Diego went off on Trump for saying this. We can put it up on screen. Jim Desmond, I vehemently disagree with President Trump's comments. America must stand up. This is Steve Kovino from Kovino and Rich. All right, quick round of trivia before we get back into the show, but we're doing it differently this time. Every guy listening right now, you're contestant.
No buzzers, no calling in. Just answer honestly to yourself. Here we go. You got a belly and a little chest that won't go away no matter what you try. Gast by the middle of the afternoon, no drive left in the tank. And lastly, you lack that confidence in mental edge. Fellows, here's the thing. Those are classic signs that your testosterone has been sliding. And nothing drags it down faster than extra weight. The good news? Emerging research suggests that getting rid of it may actually be more effective than TRT. So why not take matters into your own hands? Strip off the weight that tanks your testosterone with Bioma GLP1 booster. Every serving is packed with science back and third party tested ingredients that crank up your natural GLP1 production. So you can enjoy a leaner physique, surging energy, and increased drive. Visit bioma.health slash GLP1 and use code CR Show to get 15% off your first order. That's bioma.health slash GLP1 code CR Show for 15% off. To a Ron Defender interest, but the first response we are in chief is to protect the American
people and our homeland. As a Navy veteran, I served protect Americans not right off American cities as an unacceptable price of war. Job is to keep America safe. I want to point out that you have a Senate candidate saying congressional candidate saying I vehemently oppose bombing my city and killing everyone. Really? You do? That's a fairly minimal standard, right? The weight is true. Thank you, sir. Yeah. If Republicans, we've seen across the country right now who are running away from Trump like scalded dogs, right? If they want to get away from this kind of thing, you can't just try to scoot up the middle. That guy felt like he was scooting up the middle a little bit. I love President Trump, but I don't think he should tell us all in blue. Right. And all of it comes down to I think a guy who is increasingly unhinged, increasingly
unable to control himself. And the vast majority candidates are not going to come out and criticize this. They're going to say, Ha, Ha, you live their own against snowflake. Oh, yeah. But if Barack Obama had said, we're going to, it wouldn't be funny if Al Qaeda bombed Charleston or some other Red City in America. Imagine what would happen. There will be pitchforks and torches people in the streets, Fox News running a 24 hour a day siren. Yes. None of it. None of it makes sense to ordinary people. They are watching Trump collapse more and more each day. And the only people that are sticking with him are Republican candidates who cannot escape him. Right. And the other thing Molly is, I mean, Joe Biden says we killed Medicare, whatever it was in that debate. And his political career has to leave the race. And so Donald Trump has one of these moments almost every day. And the bombing, the, the nooking of LA in San Diego is 10 times.
It's a thousand times worse than we killed Medicare. But also, yes, a thousand times worse. But also what Rick is talking about here, I think is really important, which is if you're a Republican candidate, you have a problem, right? Because you have a wildly unpopular incumbent who can galvanize the MAGA base that you desperately need to show up. And you, so you're going to alienate the middle. I mean, this is ultimately the problem that these right, very right wing candidates have. Because you have to run in a general election. You have a president who is poisoned to indies. I mean, if these polls are right, indie voters do not like him. And you need him to get people out. But you, if you get him out, then you screw yourself. I mean, Mike Lawler is a great example saying he's not going to campaign with Trump. Trump saying he's going to campaign with Lawler like, I think there's a story that Greg Abbott may not campaign with Trump. Greg Abbott's washing his hair that night, apparently.
Byron Donald is like, yeah, it'd be great to see the president, but I'm not sure I can find him wherever he's going to be in the state. Yeah. All these people are ducking him now. And he hates that, by the way. But he hates him crazy. Remember in 2018, one of the million shitty things he said about somebody when he said, she's dead now. But he said, me a love did not love me and the voters did not love her. That's why she lost. Right. That's right. Me a love for God about him. You know, Trump will do this. The more they resist him, the more he's going to want to come to their area. That's right. And then he's been, they've been taking him to Oklahoma. They've been taking him in Alabama. You know, with the purple tape local home. With the Byron Donald, I mean, Byron Donald, the reason that Trump is going to campaign with Byron Donald is because he saw that Byron Donald said him scrubbed from his website. Yeah. Yeah.
I mean, what's next to teleporting to 1930s Berlin? I mean, I don't know. Maybe that's next for Trump rally. But let's show Larry Sabato over at the UVA Center for Politics has a battleground map. He's got Mary Peltola in Alaska as leading D. Yeah. That's a democrat. That's incredible. Fox News has a poll that has South Carolina moving from solid R to likely R because Dr. Annie Andrews is giving Darling Graham a scare there. The Republican Senate committee just is sending 10 million there now to the again, the notorious blue state of South Carolina. And it's also she's a terrible candidate like Darling Graham. You can't she couldn't answer like a very simple question during that debate. Yes. No, she was she was a terrible candidate. She's still a terrible candidate. And I guess Trump again, as you were saying, Rick, you can kind of see the poker tells now with Trump. He did this insane true social post talking about Annie, Tranny Andrews.
I don't know why he's referring to her. Whatever that was about. I don't know what that's about, but it's what they think that they think that anti trans works for them. So they're trying to like remember, tell a freak out like they're trying to do whatever they can to make these people seem out of the mainstream. I gotta say, I gotta say, you know, and I keep going back to I keep going back to the Texas example because $130 million has been spent mostly trying to burn down Tallerico. And I don't it's now been seven or eight. I'll check seven or eight weeks since Paxton led in a single poll. Wow. You know, you see in in Iowa, Ashley Henson has spent like $40 million and she's still in a tie ball game with Josh Turrick. It doesn't knock their numbers down the way it used to. Byron Donald has spent $80 million in his favorability and his polling has gone down.
I think the environment has now reached the point because everybody got very like freaked out about mage of money. Right. They still have a lot of money. They're still spending a lot of money. It could still have an impact. But right now it hasn't had the impact they thought it would have. They thought these phrases would be over by now. But they're now they're now playing this this very ugly game of triage. They're moving money like crazy. You know, we're now the Republicans are now out of Georgia. Out of Carolina. North Carolina. They're leaving. I'm told they're going to leave Ohio. Wow. Really? Yep. Wow. They are not happy about Ohio. But Vivek Lentz. They're going to go to Alaska to try to knock down Peltola because it's relatively speaking inexpensive. So Vivek is a heavy left, you might say is that? Well Vivek. I remember lifting the kid. It's probably Q.E.D. But remember Vivek has lent himself another $5 million just today.
Yeah. You know, Ohio is a surprisingly expensive media market. Yeah. Right. That's not going to go as far as he thinks. And honest answer. Vivek has not. There is a there is an underpinning in that campaign that nobody wants to talk about. And that is that there are a lot of people on the right who are not going to vote for him. And that's the same problem that Byron Donald's house, which is 100% we and we know this because we had Eric Erickson say the white nationalist is swear to God. This guy. You have the white nationalist who won't turn out for candidates who are that that died. Yeah. This is why Trump is saying darker than a latte. It's the word. Yeah. But this is why Trump is saying I'm the one who's running. Don't pay attention to these. You know, he calls Ken Paxton ugly and he says I think he said John Houston's a pain
in the ass the other day and he's going off on his own candidate. But he says I'm running. We should play this sound because I think this is you know. Three times a record three times. I think it's the amazing higher higher higher. And just remember I'm running. I'm running. Okay. Even if you have to pretend safe because it's a true way I am running. We have to keep it going and we can't go. It just you can't keep it going if we have these people in that come from a different world. The golden age of America is a promise. Yeah. You must get out telling everybody over and over again. He's running Rick and that to me is basically the opposite of what all of these Republican candidates are saying they don't want him to say I'm running. They they they would love for Trump not to be on the ballot. Yeah. But the real question here is they bonded themselves. They've epoxy themselves to Trump for so long. They define themselves as only being for Trump. They don't represent their district or their state. They only represent Trump.
And now it's kind of ringing hollow with voters like suddenly they're like Donald who that fellow from New York, the real estate. I don't know any other. Nobody's buying that crap. Yeah. Yeah. And I agree with you. I think there's a lot of I think there's a lot of racism out there. There's no question about it. But I mean, the other issue though is every time somebody goes to the gas station, they're reminded of how much they hate Donald Trump and how much he's host them. How many times have we watched these clips on MS now where the reporter goes to the gas station and talks to these Trump supporters and they're all livid Molly. They're livid. Three time Trump supporter filled my car up with gas. I hate the I hate the guy. I mean, that's it. That's because they can't afford gas. I want I sent you a tweet. I just saw this. Yes. About Elon Musk's big America pack, which is was expected to to spend and spend and spend and spend has spent here we go. So this is from today.
Elon Musk America pack tonight with its biggest spend of the cycle $4.3 million. There it is. I'm showing you now. And he's going to spend on Tallerico and Paxton. I mean, that's what I mean, Trump is looking to the oligarchs to bail him out now. But I don't know. Does the money work Rick? Because I also that's not a lot of money for you on the richest man in the world. That's true. Here's the thing. They're making a big announcements. You know, oh, we're spending another million from the from the super pack. They still haven't only spent out of the Trump super pack as of today around $30 million of the $450 million had on him. Because he wants to run again in 2028 or we want to use it for lawyers. He's hard to remember. He's hard to remember. Yeah. Elon is going at this rate of onesy to z spending where Elon could drop $250 million and wouldn't break a sweat.
Yeah. True. And Hans. I mean, remember that Wisconsin judicial. He spent 100 million in the Wisconsin judicial race, right? Yeah. Was it 100 million? Yeah. Yeah. Something crazy. It was the most expensive judicial race ever. And how the reversal factor down in the technical in the technical term we use in politics, he got blown the fuck out. Yeah. Yeah. But even the oligarchs can bail him out and he brings them to the White House almost every week. This tiny estate dinner. It was like an oligarch state dinner. Well, you see that, but you see all those guys, they've been, they've given their money to the ballroom fund. Yep. They've given their money to Trump super pack. But they're not out splashing big amounts of money except in Florida for Byron Donalds and the AI tech guys have spent about five to $7 million on Donalds because they want to build data centers. But other than that, they're not playing at scale in a lot of these races. Peter Teal's pretty quiet this year. Very nice.
And Peter Teal spent 30 million to put JD Vance in the Senate. So I also think part of what I'm curious about this because a lot of these people have moved to Texas because of the habit treatment, right? Especially Elon's a great example. I saw that Elon must movie, the give me movie which comes out this weekend. And in it, you know, Elon moved to Texas so that he could have these towns so he could have tax breaks. So he could have. So the question. I have it. Of course. Of course, right. Yeah. So my question now is what happens next? Yes. If Elon, if if if if if if Abbott loses, I mean, that would be humongous. And maybe he doesn't lose, but still like you would think you would pour money into that race. I'm sure they're seeing that, you know, the ship is largely sailed when it comes to the cycle. I think it's what they're starting to gather. And but the question that this leads me to Molly and Rick is and I Molly and I were talking
about just chatting about this before we got started. I'm anxious to hear what you think Rick is. Do we believe the polls? Do we believe that like, he knows that has a chance to win the governor's race in Texas. Do we believe that David Johnley has a chance to win the governor's race in Florida? Do we believe that Al Asayab will win in Michigan? I mean, I do think that there are some question marks about the polls that all Americans have. Sure. Look, polling is disappointed both sides of the political fence repeatedly. Yeah. But what we are seeing this year is a very broad consistency, even much more so than we've done in the last few cycles across every polling instrument, every polling outlet, every type of poll, every sample set, and definitely Americans are incredibly disillusioned about Donald Trump. They, they, when you've got an approval rating that starts with a three, you're in trouble. Right. And Trump is there. And that is, that is universal.
We've also seen that the economic hit that people have taken in the country over fuel prices over inflation, over wage stagnation, all of those things have hit all simultaneously. And we're seeing that Americans believe we're on a wrong direction in the country. They believe that our economic direction is, is attributable to Trump and Republicans. Yeah. Yeah. In a Hosa is a very close race. I think that if James Tolerico beats Ken Paxton by six or seven, she wins. If he beats her by, if he beats Paxton by four or five, probably not. Right. I mean, yeah. Yeah. Go on. No, go. Floor is a little different. Byron Donalds, it doesn't want to look at the health in the room. And that is the fact that he couldn't even win the Republican primary with a majority. Right. Because the public and public base are not going to vote for a black guy. Because of the white supremacists.
And if you overlay it, it's the, if you overlay the map, it's the same map that votes. This is Steve Kovino from Kovino and Rich. All right. Quick round of trivia before we get back into the show, but we're doing it differently this time. Every guy listening right now, you're contestant. No buzzers, no calling in. Just answer honestly to yourself. Here we go. You got a belly and a little chest that won't go away no matter what you try. Just by the middle of the afternoon, no drive left in the tank. And lastly, you lack that confidence in mental edge. Fellowes, here's the thing. So you can enjoy a leaner physique, surging energy and increased drive.
Visit bioma.health slash GLP1 and use code CR Show to get 15% off your first order. That's bioma.health slash GLP1 code CR Show for 15% off. Right. Is it an error? Is it an error? Is it an error? Press it out for this? They're absolutely is. Track that. Is the Jesse Hounds voters? Is that an error? Yeah. You can the old Southern, the old Southern Dixie Cratt voter area of the state. It's the panhandle and part of the big Ben. The other thing is happening in Florida. And again, it's sort of a bank shot, but it's an absolute reality. Angie Nixon is running a true grassroots operation in the state. Yeah. She is turning up the black vote. Like I have not seen it in my lifetime. And I say that, including during Barack Obama's two runs for president. Wow. And she's an engaging candidate. I have to say. She has got hustle for days. She has the gift. She has no money. Yeah. She has no money. She has the gift and she's working, working hard in a weird way.
I think that David Jolly and a lot of democratic congressional candidates are going to have Angie Nixon to thank on election day because we're going to end up with record African-American turnout. Wow. We're also seeing in Florida and other places. Hispanic turnout is off the fricking charts in the early vote. Did you see that Virginia numbers for four or five times? I saw it. What was that? Can we pick it up? The Virginia. There are five times the expected number in Minnesota and Virginia. And three times the expected number right now in ballot requests in Broward County in Florida. Hispanic numbers, as Mike Madrid calls it, the D alignment. After 2024, they said it's a realignment. It's D.O. on a pretty damn mask. It's called D icing, I think is what it's called. Yeah. And that speaks to the Miami thing we talked about. The Salazar, the Miami Sputting.
Molly and I went to her show. I was saying that you screw with those Cubans down in South Florida. You know, it's racial Trump. It's racial Trump. It's off to Africa. What they've been doing to Cuban migrants and Cuban refugees and people. It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. And these have been the most reliable Republicans. This is a factor that's affecting all every race in South Florida right now. Congressional, the governor's the Senate race. And Trump and Stephen Miller said we're going to send, we're going to deport about 350,000 people who are on TPS. Here working legally, living and working legally, playing by the rules who are who just happen to be Cuban, Venezuela and Haitian. You have blown a hole in the economy of South Florida. And while those people aren't voters, their family members, their employers, their friends, their neighbors are and they see these people being rounded up by ice and deported because Stephen Miller has a hard on against anybody who's darker than a latte.
And they are, this is not going over well. And if we're screaming about communism, we're deporting the Cubans back to, we're not even deporting them back to Cuba. We're sending them to fucking Africa. Right. It's insane. It's the same. It's totally the same. It's totally. The question is, if you're running against communism and you have the president of China in your, in your, in your, in your house, right, you're a big state dinner for him and you're like, we hate communism. Then you have socialist mayor of New York. You love him, right? You constantly have me love her. You can't say a bad word about him. He's a closet. Comey. Right. And you're trying to, I mean, my fate, one of my favorite moments in the Trump administration was at least a phonic saying that you know Zoran is, you know, something is long. The phobic and Trump says, no, he's actually a great guy. It's, it's crazy. All right, guys, before you go, as much as I like to rail on the merger of Paramount and
WBD and the merger of CBS, CNN and Under the Ellicons and Trump still has Fox and Fox, right? Every so often will even shock me without ridiculous they are. I'm sure you saw this. The former Speaker of the House, Dennis Haster passed away. He died and he is a, he was a pedophile. Pedophile. He was a child molester and Fox. I don't know if you guys have seen this. I think I shouldn't have Molly. Don't know Rick. You saw it. They did it as almost like an in-memorium. They like, they treated him with reverence. We should play this. And I just want to get your final thoughts before you go because I can't believe that Dennis Haster has died. The Republican from Illinois served that post from 1999 to 2007. He was the longest serving Republican House Speaker ever. His reputation was later tainted by allegations he had molested athletes during his career as teacher and wrestling coach. She spent more than a year in prison. Haster died Saturday of natural causes. Dennis Haster was 84. Look at that.
Fade to black. What the? I'm sorry. I've been asked not to curse as much of my show. Rick, what the fuck? What the actual fuck? What? Haster was not only a child molester. He was also a criminal, a fraudster who bought a he's a land for like a hundred million dollars and sold it to the federal government under some shell company for three hundred million dollars. He's not the role model you want for the youth of America kids. No. No. No, but I mean, they will polish any turd as long as it has an R next to it over at Fox. I want to tell you if I'm Fox news, I'm just not airing that real like it shows a certain lack of judgment. It's a later than right. Barry's been a news room like a thousand years. Sorry Rick. I'm sorry. Remember when they had the brain room at Fox all the smart guys who would like pick the right thing to write stories around every day. Yeah. Apparently they do not. They don't have that anymore. If you're a bread bear, you're a pretty smart guy.
You know that this is just don't air it like just say, yeah, I can't read this today. You know, reminds me of the Angela Paxton video. It's like, oh God. Yes, I'm Angela Paxton and sometimes you have to vote for the ex husband. Whose name you refuse to say right. The degenerate. You have some right to force it on biblical grounds. I mean, yeah, please elect this slime ball. Yes. You will Texas something like that. Is that. I think that. Yeah. Guys, love you. I hope we can do this again before November 3rd, but let's make it up. Everybody's busy. Now, we got some fancy maps and stuff coming. So maybe we'll bust that some of that stuff. We want you for the maps. All right. All right. Thanks guys. Really appreciate it. Good to see you. Molly and Rick. Always the best. All right. They really are the best. Love having them on the show. Let's turn quickly now to Congressman Jim Himes. He's the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, waiting very patiently for our
high jinks to end. Congressman, can you hear me? Okay. Oh, Congressman, you got me. I don't think the Congressman can hear me. Congressman, you got me. Hello, check. Check, check, check. Hello. Can you hear me? I don't think he can hear. How about now, Congressman? I'm not hearing the show. Not hearing the show. Okay. Let's have him jump back in if he can. Let's see if he can jump back in. Guys, we get the Congressman to jump back in out and back in police. This sometimes happens, folks. We see this happen for time and time. I will say very quickly before we get the Congressman back. And I hope to, I hope to goodness sakes we can get the Congressman back in here because he has some very interesting and important stuff to talk about. He and the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, they're both writing to the Intelligence Community that they need more information about foreign threats to our elections in this country. And the just of the letter that Congressman Himes has sent out is that they've not been
getting the required information from the Intelligence Community. So we're going to try to get Congressman Himes back in here occasionally. This happens where the tech remlins intervene. So we're going to get Congressman Himes in here in just a second. I think he's jumping back in now. Congressman Himes, can you hear me now? Hello, hello. Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now? No, can you hear us? Hey, Jim, I'm sorry. I'm having a hard time here in the show here. I got some new gear. That's OK. That's OK. All right. Can you hear us now? Sir, nope, you can't hear us now. The other thing that we were going to talk to the Congressman about is he is sending a letter to a lot of the defense contractors out there saying he would like to know more about these dealings that have been going on between the defense industry and the Trump administration. Let's see. If we get the Congressman back in here, he can explain both of these things for us, but I don't know if he can hear me just yet. If not, we may have to try this on a different day as much as we like having Congressman
Jim. The other reason I wanted to have the Congressman on, obviously, because he's very likely to become the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee there in the House of Representatives is that he may have some comments to offer about what Donald Trump said last night in the brass group. Of course, we've been talking about this all hour long. We had Governor Gavin Newsom at the top of the show. You missed the top of the show. You missed Governor Gavin Newsom of California. He weighed in on Donald Trump's comments about, you know, about Iran. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. The White House has been furiously trying to clean this up, clear it up. I think to no avail, except with the diehard Trump supporters that are out there and maybe there's sick of fans and conservative media, but I wanted to get the Congressman's take on that as well. Sometimes this happens, folks, hang in there in just a second. I do want to recap just a few moments ago and we can show this to you, everybody.
We can get the Congressman back in. We'll do it. But just a few moments ago, Trump was out in front of the cameras. We played this near the top of the show. He was asked about his comments that he made in Nebraska last night. And when he was asked again about these comments, do you want to defend these comments? What do you have to say about these comments? Trump had this reaction. Let's show this one more time. Where's your flat? They let it go. President, where is President? How did this happen? Yeah, there's Donald Trump right there. You can see very clearly. He's asked again by reporters what about these comments about Iran taking out Los Angeles
in San Diego. Hello, hello. Congressman, can you hear me now? It's Jim. Can you hear me, sir? Yeah, I can hear you. I finally have audio. Sorry about that. No, that's okay. Hey, I can vamp and tap dance with the best of them. We were just showing the video. I guess Trump was given a chance by reporters to respond to whether or not he still stands by these comments he made at this rally last night about to Iran. Let them take out LA. Let them take out San Diego. Just a quick comment from you on that. Then I do want to talk about the items that you've been working on in your role on the Intel committee. Yeah, Jim, I've got to tell you. What can you say? I mean, seven times a day, he says something just obscene and absurd. The question for all of us is, how spun up do we get about it? This is the thing for six years now. And obviously when you're that stupid about an American city, it hits hard.
It's not a joke. However, let's push through the nonsense. Two things are true. Number one, thank God the Iranians don't have the capability to put a nuclear weapon in either of those cities. Not because of anything that Donald Trump has done, but because we had a JCPOA for a long time and we were able to actually watch and stop the development of a nuclear weapon. And number two, what his spokesperson said, which is that they don't have a military, they don't have nuclear, they don't have a navy. They may not have a military, but boy oh boy, are they keeping oil prices above $100 a barrel or $90 a barrel and Americans are seeing gasoline. And oh, by the way, the nuclear stuff is there. It is there. It has not been turned into dust. This stuff has got a lot of rubble on it. If you want to talk nuclear, you've got to ask yourself, you know, the Iranians had a deal. Donald Trump tore that deal up. You know, Donald Trump attacked. You know, if you're an Iranian leader, you probably say to yourself, okay, we weren't going to do this before.
But once we sort of lose whatever leverage we've got over the straight of our moves in American gasoline prices, which they have a lot of right now, what do we do next? What do we do next? They're going to look at Pakistan and they're going to look at North Korea and say, you know what, Pakistan and North Korea aren't getting attacked. Yeah. And he's doing these rallies all the time. Maybe spend more time on trying to solve this issue of this where he started in the Middle East on his own that, I mean, that is coming back to Haanam big time with these midterms coming up. But I did want to ask you about a couple of things. You have, you and Senator Warner sent off a letter to the intelligence community director of national intelligence, Jay Clayton asking for more transparency about foreign, or foreign threats to our elections. And it sounds as if what you're saying and what the Senator is saying is that you're not getting the required information from the intelligence community from the DNI. That concerns me because, you know, Trump gave this wild speech about all these foreign threats and stuff. This is Steve Kovino from Kovino and Rich. All right. Quick round of trivia before we get back into the show, but we're doing it differently
this time. Every guy listening right now, you're contestant. No buzzers, no calling in. Just answer honestly to yourself. Here we go. The belly and a little chest that won't go away no matter what you try. Gasped by the middle of the afternoon, no drive left in the tank. And lastly, you lack that confidence in mental edge. Fellows, here's the thing. Those are classic signs that your testosterone has been sliding. And nothing drags it down faster than extra weight. The good news, emerging research suggests that getting rid of it may actually be more effective than TRT. So why not take matters into your own hands? That's bioma.health slash GLP1 code CR Show for 15% off.
And I would think they would be informing you guys as to what's going on. Yeah, let's put this in the right context, Jim. It is a sure bet. Take this from the guy who is in the Chamber of the House of Representatives on January 6th when Donald Trump sent a mob to stop the peaceful transfer of power. If the numbers are right and the Democrats win a big majority in the House of Representatives and if you check Polymarket today, it looks like the betting is that we'll win the Senate too. It's not a chance in the world that Donald Trump will say, gosh, remember what Bush said? I got drugged or something like that. No, he's not saying that. He's saying this was a corrupt election. And so I am operating under the assumption that that's where we wind up. And there's lots of scenarios. He's going to try to instigate the whole lot of undocumented aliens voted in California, all the nonsense that we've seen. My little part of this is he's going to quite possibly make up out of whole cloth that the Iranians compromise the Michigan election. I mean, sort of, yeah, it's put your wordle in here, right?
And so Mark and I are doing a ton of work to make sure that we understand where we are in terms of the efforts that countries may be making to try to interfere. And therefore, you said it exactly right. By law, the Director of National Intelligence has required to provide reports to us 361 in 20 days before an election that have not been provided. Now, in J Clayton's defense, he did send us a classified readout of what they're seeing out there, but they're still way behind in telling us what we need to know so that we can, you know, actually, if the president makes something up, we'll be in a position to know whether it's true or not. Right. It's almost like throw a dart at a dart board and see what excuse he comes up with for why the Democrats have captured both the House and possibly the Senate. And he may come up with some bogus foreign assessment, foreign threat. And if you haven't been briefed on this, how are we supposed to know? How are we supposed to put any confidence, I mean, obviously we can't put any confidence on anything that he says, but even from the intelligence community, how can we put any confidence in what they say?
If they're not sharing with the gang of it, they're not sharing with you. What is going on? Well, I mean, it's just a good news. Yeah, the good news is it's pretty hard to make up, you know, an attack out of whole cloth. So if he goes on TV and says the CIA director has called me and we have evidence that the Iranians have compromised the election in Florida and North Carolina or Michigan, there's lots of analysts at the CIA or whatever entity who are going to say, oh, yeah, not true. And the director of the CIA, and I promise you, I will be on the phone with him, would be lying if in fact the president makes that up. So that's actually pretty hard to do. But nonetheless, none of us would have predicted an attack on the Capitol on January 6th. So we are going to be as prepared as possible. I think it's much more likely, Jim, you pointed out the July speech was just this grab bag of weird stuff that didn't really land in any meaningful way. Like, oh, the Venezuelans messed with their own elections. No duh, right? It's a dictatorship there. And so I think it's much more likely that he's going to work the theme that he has worked
for years now, which is the election is corrupt because lots of illegal immigrants voted in the election, which of course will be total nonsense. I mean, you can count on two hands, the number of undocumented aliens that have deliberately voted in an election. But my guess is that, I mean, he just sounds that theme all the time. My guess is that's probably where he goes. And I just don't know, again, I don't know that that lands. I tend to think you're right. And then I did see the story in the Wall Street Journal a few days ago that you're preparing to investigate the spy industry's work with the Trump administration, the latest sign, that anti-corruption efforts are going to be the center of the legislative agenda for Democrats. You're expected to become the chairman of the Intel Committee. And you've been wanting to look into what you call nakedly corrupt dealings with the private sector, appeared to inappropriately fuse the government contracting process with the attempted extraction of political or private favors. Can you expand on that? And you have a little time left before you got to go. But I mean, the corruption has been just unbelievable since he's come back into power.
Yeah, exactly. And I mean, one of the really sad things about this era was the extent to which corporations and law firms, looking at you, Paul Weiss and universities and you name it, just bent the knee. I've got lots of constituents who stood up to this guy with everything to lose, their jobs, whatever it is. But meanwhile, Paul Weiss and Amazon and the Washington Post and lots of contractors for the intelligence community when, and I assume, let me just tell you, we don't have all the facts. So I'm not going to tell you that we do, but we know that lots of them gave money for the ballroom, right? Now, the Constitution, and you don't need to be a constitutional lawyer to look up the fact that Article I, Section 9 says that the money that the government spends will be appropriated by the Congress to stop precisely this sort of nonsense. And why should we care? Because we don't want Donald Trump having his own source of North of Grumman, Palantir, Ballmart, I mean, name your corporation here and I'm naming them, you know, not for
any particular reason. You know, budget that he controls that is contrary to the Constitution. And also, when a contractor gives $10 million for a helipad or an arch or a ballroom, you know, what are they getting in return? That's where we are. We told these corporations that donated preserve your records. We're going to want to know if there was a quid pro quo. And what your lawyer said about doing something that looks unconstitutional on the face of it. Yeah. No, it seems like we've returned to the spoils system of the late 1800s in terms of, you know, doling out money to our buddies and cronies and friends. Jim Himes, Congressman Himes, great to see you as always. Thank you so much. I know you got a split, but thanks for battling through the tech stuff too. Thank you. Thanks for taking care. All right, you too. Thanks a lot. And I just want to say before I go, I'm trying to restrain myself. Now, I'm trying to be in a good mood. I'm trying, I'm trying really hard to not go off on some of my friends in the press.
But I have to say before we go that it is not our job in the press to make the president of the United States sound more sane. It is not our job as journalists and as reporters to make the president of the United States make sense. That's not our job. That's not what we do. So when he goes out in front of the press or he goes out in front of a rally and he says something that's batshit crazy, it's not our job as reporting. I'm sorry, I know this sounds like grandpa Simpson shaking my fist of the clouds or yelling at the kids to get off my lawn, but I'm yelling at the kids in the press to cut the shit out. I saw tweet after tweet after tweet today from some pretty good reporters, sane washing Donald Trump's comments about LA and San Diego. And how he meant this and he meant that and blah, blah, blah, blah. It's not your job to do mind reading.
You're not a mind reader. This is not a Ouija board. We're not breaking out the tarot cards. We're not Karnak trying to imagine what Donald Trump meant when he said let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego, which is on its face. No matter the context, a crazy thing to say, a totally insane 25th amendment, crazy thing to say. And yes, when he said, well, it's not a high price to pay or whatever that he was, yes, he was talking about the gas prices granted. Fine. Why is he using? Why is he fantasizing? Why is he suggesting that Iran might take out these cities? Why is he talking about California? A blue state that he goes, he goes after again and again and again.
Simply for the fact that a lot of Democrats live there. And by the way, enjoy living in a beautiful state. It's a great state. And sure, the Republicans would like to take it over, but Californians don't want the Republicans to take it over, especially in the age of Donald Trump. And so Trump has a bone to pick with California. He denies federal disaster relief. He screws around with getting aid and storm relief and mudslide relief relief and wildfire relief. Every chance that he gets to screw with California, he screws with California. So for all the point he had to know it all reporters who were whining and complaining today, I asked you this. Why did he mention LA and San Diego? He wasn't fucking Nebraska. He wasn't fucking Nebraska. Why is he ranting and raving about LA and San Diego being hit with a nuclear bomb?
Why is he doing that? Why is the president of the United States of America doing that ever? Ever? How is that normal? How is that sane? And I can't tell you how pissed off it made me think when I saw these reporters doing it. And I'm not going to mention them by name. I don't want to go down that road and start up a whole shit storm over this. But you know who you are and you need to cut that out because it's embarrassing for you. And the American people are on to what is happening right now. Donald Trump just drove a stake into his own mega cult movement with those comments last night. American people have had it up to here with the nuttiness and the craziness and the lies.
They've had it. Donald Trump has gotten himself into this own and into his own mess with this war in Iran. It's his own mess of his own making and he's desperate to get out of it. He's like a bear caught in a bear trap and he's not willing to bite off his own legs so he can run off into the woods. He's trapped. He's in trouble. And he is basically going to stop at nothing to try to distract the American people from what's going on. And he comes up with these ridiculous excuses. Oh, people are willing to pay high prices for gasoline. No, they're not. They're paying these high prices because you started a war that did not need to be started. It's affecting everybody all around the country in particular in California where they are really paying through the nose for gas right now. And so I've had it up to here with members of the press, members of my profession, carrying
his water. And I'm not even talking about the guys on Fox. I'm talking about like regular reporters carrying his water. It's totally nuts. And I, you know, so I needed to say something about that today. So I said it, but I just think that this is why people have gravitated towards independent media. This is why people just want to hear it straight from guys like me and guys like Don and other guys who are doing this because they've had it up to here. And I'm going to tell you right now as soon as Donald Trump said that and they saw the response that they got, they started, they started calling. They started texting. They started cajoling. They started going after news organizations, the rapid response, 47 account, retweeted the LA times. You buffoons and they were, they put this tweet out going off on the LA times. I guarantee you the communications director over there, the people in the press shop over there, probably Donald Trump himself calling news organizations, calling reporters, calling
executives harassing news organizations to try to get them to move towards their narrative, which is that he didn't step in it and that he didn't have this spectacular radioactive gaff that he had in Nebraska. The most charitable, the most charitable thing you can say about those comments is that he's just losing his marbles and that he's just not all there anymore and he can't control what he says. Then why is he president? Why does he still have two years left in office? Why is it that there's no member of the cabinet who would even contemplate for a moment the 25th Amendment? Why is there just not even for a moment a Republican in Congress who would contemplate impeaching and removing him from office? You know he's not well. You know he's not well and he gives you reminders day after day.
When Joe Biden said we killed Medicare, that was it, his campaign was over. He had to go, everybody threw him out. He did that one to, well, I guess he mixed things up from time to time, but he had that one really bad one and that was it. He had to go, Donald Trump does this almost every day. And the only reason why he doesn't do it almost every day or every day is because he's falling asleep in the Oval Office or he doesn't go out in front of the cameras because he's not with it anymore. He's not all there. He needs Natalie Harp and all of these people around him to roll him out there for the five minutes he does this or that. And when he does go out in front of the cameras like he did today on the South lawn, he's he just utters the same simple, stupid comments that he has stored in his head. He could only recycle the same responses. Watch him. He could only recycle the same ridiculous lies and responses to the things that he says.
But I ask the know-it-alls and the elites in this profession who are trying to run damage control for this unhinged maniac. What's in it for you? Why are you doing it? Why are you doing this? And ask yourself, why did that audience cheer? Why were they starting to applaud? Why were they starting to lap up this idea that two California cities would be vaporized in a nuclear attack? Why were they cheering this? What's wrong with this movement? What's wrong with this movement is that it is not a political movement, folks, it is a cult. It is a dangerous cult that is led by a dangerous person who will say anything and do anything
to stay in power. And by the day is losing his ability to regulate the words that come out of his brain. And I asked the governor of California about this at the top of the show, do we have a 25th Amendment crisis in this country? The governor said, yes, we do. Unquestionably the case. And I think that's what we're staring in the face right now, folks. This bitter, Donald Trump keeps saying, my name is on the ballot. He's not technically on the ballot. We all know this. But the important thing to recognize in all of this is that he's going to be the president to be in office for another two years after Americans go to the polls on November 3rd. He still has 24 months to go. We all have about 24 months, 26 months to go after November 3rd of this national crisis,
this national nightmare that we're all trapped in because he is not up to being the president of the United States. If he were up to being the president of the United States in the country that I know and love, that I grew up in, with presidents from both parties who could keep it together, Donald Trump would never say, let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. A real president, a normal president with all of his faculties would not say that ever, in any context, and for those of you in the national news media who are continuing to explain away this nonsense, this craziness, this crap, please spend a little time this evening. Thinking about what you're doing to this country, what you're doing to our profession.
We are here to tell the truth. We are here to communicate to the American people what is going on to people around the world, what is going on. We do nobody any good when we go whistling past the graveyard. I want to thank the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, for coming on today. I want to thank Molly, John Fasten, Rick Wilson, Congressman Jim Himes of California. I hate all of you tuning in today. This is an important turning point, I think, in this country these next four weeks, you need to make a plan to vote. You need to make it your job to vote. Make your plans now. Whatever you are doing, when it comes to voting this fall, you need to make sure you're going to the right place at the right time. If you're mailing in a ballot, you have to make sure that the governor of your state is not going to screw with it because Donald Trump puts pressure on him to do that.
If you're worried about that, go down to the local election office, drop off your ballot. Or please go in person on election day. Or please early vote as soon as possible when your early voting starts. You have to make it your job to vote this fall. I said it once. Say it again. Say it again and again and again. You have to make it your job to vote this fall. We appreciate everybody tuning in. Still reporting from Washington. I'm Jim Acosta. I'll see you next time. This is Steve Kovino from Kovino and Rich. Quick trivia, fellas. Every guy listening is contestant. Answer honestly to yourself. You got a belly in a little chest, gasped by the afternoon, no drive left in the tank.
