The Ravens are getting ready to play the Tennessee Titans at MIT Bake Stadium at 1 o'clock on Sunday. Today was the final practice of the week as well as an opportunity to hear from head coach Jesse Minzer. Just I want to really start off like we had such a cool opportunity today with the Crucial Catch game this week. We think we had like 45 plus kids get a chance to draw a design. We had eight of them out here today. Mira love this sweatshirt.
This is one of her. She's a big Ravens fan. It's just always great, especially for our players, just to see what other people are going through in real life and adversity. It hits home and then you got kids like that age. So just tons of love and respect for them and appreciate them coming out today. We're able to have a good Friday practice. Just one announcement. Trey Hendrixson will be out this week. We were able to get the finger fixed. We think it'll be very, very short term, but just in a quick way to get that fixed and get them back, I think that's going to be best for us moving forward long term. So excited about the opportunity that that presents for other guys and look forward to the challenge coming in this week and playing at home. Jessy, we didn't see Ronnie out there today, but he practiced one's in Thursday. How did he do with that? And was this more of a rest or? Yeah, I think he had a really good two days. And I think he's in a good position. But we'll kind of see just to make sure he feels, you know,
later today and tomorrow just to make sure how he's feeling. But I do think he was able to get a good amount of work in. We wanted to kind of give him the best opportunity going into the game. So. And with Trey out, what do you kind of think about the other guys in the past or studying? I'm excited about it. I think it's always opportunity. We may get, you know, we may get Ethan Burke playing a little bit of defensive week, which again, anytime you get a guy, you know, fresh and first time playing, I'm just, you just get it really excited for the player and the work that they've put in. Other guys, obviously, maybe a few more snaps. And so excited about where that's at and look forward to those guys playing the way we need him to play to be successful. I know Roddy is obviously going to see those, but would you see Carson Bitt's last week? Yeah, Carson, Carson's again, I talked about it like one of a much improved player played well. I thought he did well really in both phases. Obviously, the run end pass first start.
There's probably plays that you'd like to have back. But overall, to hold up in that game where we don't give up any sacks and we were able to run the ball, that, you know, maybe not as consistently effective as we would have liked. But overall, the yardage and things like that added up to a good, good rushing game. So I thought he played well for our offense to play and score the amount of points that he did. You know, obviously a lot of that goes on higher left tackle plays. So Kudos to him to how he played. And I think that just builds us more and more depth as we keep going through this long season. Andrew Borges is a full time starter last year. What have you seen from him over the course of the summer in early this season? Yeah, I mean, we were, I thought we were very fortunate to get him back. And I think now, like it's, it's, you know, tons of experience. I think he's had a really good camp and excited to see him maybe get more of an opportunity this game. So you love to have guys like that that have played. It's not just going to be a bunch of new guys that haven't played. You got guys that have played a lot of snaps. Been in the huddle with Lamar, been in the huddle with the other guys.
And so I'm excited. I think he'll play really well. Anything, Ben, go handle that. Having a whole week now to kind of let the dust settle. No, he's going to be playing center. Yeah, I think he's handled it really well. And again, Kudos to him really just for the mentality and willingness. You know, it's a lot to throw on a player. And he's handled it really well. He's put in, I don't want to say extra time because he puts in a really good amount of time every week. But more different type of preparation may be playing that position. I think it's really on everybody to help him out. When you got a guy playing a new spot, it's can everybody lift up just a little bit to take take some of those added weights and pressures off of him. But I expect him to play really well this game. With, you know, giving Jeffery Simmons in the impact he can have and have to reshoff with things. How challenging does that make? Yeah, it's a huge challenge. He's one of the, he's a dominant player. I've always had a ton of, like, love and respect for how that guy plays the game. And how impactful he can be. So it's obviously a major part of when you're looking at them.
Regardless of who you have, like, he has the ability to wreck the game. So I think the, you know, it's about having a good plan and handling them in different ways and giving them different looks to try to slow those guys down. And I feel like our offense has a good plan in place. But it's just going to come down to, you know, down after down. He may make a couple plays and not getting frustrated and bounce him back and, and stick into the game plan and sticking with what we're trying to do. Jesse, the vanguard that we've got and that was kind of the strong and silent side. But I mean, have you had to push him out of his comfort zone communication wise because of everything that's on his plate in a poor snap? Yeah, I don't know that I think I would probably say that, like, in between the lines, he's been a willing and enable communicator. He has kind of this quiet, maybe quieter persona just as a rookie. I think he really was humble coming in here to really try to earn, earn everybody's trust in respect. He's done that, which is how he operates. And so he's done a really good job, having a communicated a little bit more. I think Lamar, all the guys, help him in that regard.
We want to boost him up. We want him to feel really confident to do that. We trust him and just go out there and be himself. And if he does that, I think he'll play really well. Jesse was Lamar full-go since Wednesday. Yeah, yeah. He's gotten, you know, his normal amount of reps. I would say over the last couple days and excited about what it looked like on Sunday.
