Jamie Lee Curtis Stars in Murder, She Wrote Movie

0:00On March 25, Universal Pictures is adapting the iconic TV series Murder, she wrote into a feature film. Jamie Lee Curtis takes on the role of Jessica Fletcher, the sharp mystery novelist turned detective in her main hometown of Cabot Cove. Jason Moore, director of Pitch Perfect, leads the project, with a screenplay by Lauren Schuker-Bloom and Rebecca Angelo. The original show aired for 12 seasons on CBS, created by Peter S. Fisher, Richard Levinson, and William Link. It spawned four TV movies afterward, but this will be the first theatrical release. Angela Landsbury starred as Fletcher across all those episodes and specials, earning an Emmy nomination each season without a win. The series hit number three in ratings during its second year, and remains hugely popular, with reruns on syndication and free streamers like Tubi. Fans loved it so much that Universal Studios, Florida, built a murder. She wrote Mystery Theater Attraction, a stage show about TV production they ran, until 1996.
