The Italian Defense Ministry confirmed the hit early Thursday morning on social media, saying all personnel are fine with no casualties or injuries. Defense Minister Guido Cresero has stayed in close touch with talk commanders about the incident. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani added that troops took shelter in a bunker, and everyone is well and safe. Italy keeps around 300 soldiers in Erbil to train Kurdish security forces.
