Okay, boom. Section 10 episode 657 presented by Calche. It is the home of your eliminated in two games, Boston Red Sox, brewed by Blue Moon. So cool on. Produced by 2K Baghdad, Bagzouski. We're here. We are here. Talk to him, JC. Yeah. What a roller coaster of emotions the last 24 hours has been. You know, I don't want to like walk back anything. I'm trying to compile all of my thoughts in real time as they are fluid. Like I think for me, we had never advertised it this way. Have we ever done a live show with a Red Sox lost the game? Nope. Like I can't remember. Like we did the division series against the Yankees. They won those.

We did one against the Astros. They won. You're talking like watch party, right? Just like live show into a game where like, yeah. And then we kind of like watch party. Yeah, they've lost a couple. I mean, when we did on Saturday against the race, they walked us off like two weeks ago. Like a live show. That doesn't count. This wasn't a live show. Yes, it was. This was like a watch party. We didn't do a show at Gallon. Mikey did. Yeah, Mikey did a show. Yeah, true. But anything like this, we've had a couple of. I was before. I mean, the playoff lines were always. Section 10, whatever. The point is, I think because the event, I was like, I feel more positively about this game because we're having it event. Yeah. Yeah, like if we had just done the stream and sat at home, I would have been like, whatever. But like, no, the vibes are good. People came out. It's buzzing. People want to like once Lumer popped up on the screen. I'm like, we're good. That was the biggest pop of the night. Like nothing else had. It was like, Adley had a hit. And I think Sogi made a great play.

And like, that was it. The biggest pop of the night was when people saw Lumer Lone in his suit. Again, yeah, thanks to everyone who came out to Caldune. It was an awesome time. I had a great time. It was a great event. But as far as how I feel, I think I felt way worse last year because they won the first game and should have won the second game. And then we didn't realize that Cam was a demon at the time for game three. So I was like, oh, it's a he's a rookie. And he, you know, he might get the moment. It might be too big for him. So like, we even felt good going into game three. And then you lose that series. This one in particular, and we have to, we have to address the whole, you know, the September games don't matter thing. The fact that they were the worst offense in baseball during September is that mattered for sure. I think as far as the point of saying that the games didn't matter was, you know, you're not going to, like the teams behind you weren't going to pass you the teams in front of

you. You weren't going to catch. So in that sense, the games didn't matter for standings, positioning, playoff, seeding, whatever. That's where they didn't matter. But I'm not going to sit here and say that, oh, yeah, if you're the worst offense in the fucking league for the month of September that you're just feeling good about going into the playoffs, especially when it's a best of three, you're playing an elimination game. If you can't beat the best pitcher on the planet, who is also the best pitcher of all time against the Red Sox. The stat was it's the lowest ERA for any pitcher, minimum six starts with a strikeouts per nine of ten or better. I'm sure that versus the Red Sox, he's the best pitcher of all time against the Red Sox. So that's what you were up against. I also said, I didn't have it on my bingo card that he was going to come back out for the seventh, like my plan, my strategy all along was, wait him out. You're not going to touch him. I didn't expect to.

You didn't. And then when you kind of thought he would be done after six, he comes back out for the seventh and he's like, I got another one in me. And then he continued to just jam it up your ass until it was coming out of your forehead, not a fun game to watch. Red Sox, what two hits last night, T three. Three hits. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Three. Yeah. Like I, the path to moving on was weighed out, cam, hopefully keep it close and scrap up together, some runs against the bullpen. They'd scored not. So it's like, all right. And then going into game two, it's like, all right. It feels like your odds are a little bit less than a coin flip, especially since, again,

you're not hitting. It's max-free. I'm going to pitch well against you since joining the Yankees. And there was just no one that I felt good about in the Red Sox lineup mixed in with, okay, they blew your doors off in game one. They're feeling good showing up to the yard. The Red Sox are going into an elimination game. Roman Anthony, you get the news. He's done. It was just not kick after, not kick like the, it went from like, all right, a little less than a coin flip to what? I say 11% chance the Red Sox win this game before the first pitch was thrown. And yeah, it was embarrassing. I know you're going to hear a rant from Cole that he gave you a little bit of a taste of on the stream, but it's a big picture outlook. And I agree with the general thesis that I don't think this team gives a fuck about beating the Yankees anymore.

Like it's sad to say is someone that grew up late 90s, early 2000s and watched the rivalry and it's in its peak. And to be sitting here two years in a row having your season ended by the Yankees and not feeling like how it was in 2003 where tables are getting flipped. There's going to be an arms race in the winter to be better than them to come back and not just win a world series, but you want the rematch to go through them. That's how it was in 2004. You wanted the fucking rematch. It wasn't like, man, like we can't beat those guys, but hopefully they don't get to the ALCS and we can win our world series not having to meet up with them. To me, like yeah, Cam, Cam's a demon, but like that's not a scary team. That's not a scary lineup, especially with no Aaron judge. There's no excuses. There is no excuse.

The Red Sox are just simply not a better team and it simply was a season where you went 32 and five and that's why you made the playoffs. The rest of the year sucked. You started ass, you finished ass and you had an amazing summer. The amazing summer is why you were in the playoffs in the first place, not saying that they don't belong. I think it was a miraculous turnaround that I give them all the credit in the world for. All the credit in the world. That was not a fluke, but when you don't keep it going, this is what it looks like. When you lost three out of four in the Bronx, what was that? The first week of September? Last week of August. Last week of August. When you lose the three out of four and it's like, all right, the chase is over. We're comfy right here. You took your foot off the gas. How many fucking former players did we have the conversation with?

How difficult is it to flip that switch and turn it back on once you're in cruise control? It doesn't happen. You can't do it. The warning signs were there. Hey, if you're not chasing something, if you're not playing, if you're not starting essentially to play postseason ball in mid September, you can't just hit the ground running like that. Doesn't work. Am I surprised that they got swept, not really? No. Did I think that they would put up more of a fight? Yeah. Yeah. I didn't think that they would get blown out. I didn't think that they would embarrass themselves. If they lost two and out and it was like three to one, four to two, yeah. Sure. I could see that, but getting your fucking doors blown off, nah. I didn't see that coming now. It was bad. I mean, there's nothing worse than when your team can't hit or score runs as a fan. If you're a baseball fan and a new winning starts up, a new half inning and you're like,

these guys aren't going to do it. And then the next three guys aren't going to do it and the three after them aren't going to do it. And that felt like at the entire series. It's weird even saying the entire series, these go by in 27 hours in your seasons over. It's not much different than a wild card game when you lose these first two. It kind of feels probably like it felt for the Yankees in 2021. So I mean, they went 26 straight scoreless postseason innings against the New York Yankees against your bitter rival. And I know you make the point, Jerry, of like, they don't care to beat the Yankees. I don't think this team was capable of beating playing like this, like any other team in the American League that made the playoffs. I mean, especially to white socks. Maybe Houston, yeah, because then Chicago went there and embarrassed them. Still, I mean, this socks team, this socks lineup specifically just there was like no chance they were going to do it. There was a shot. I was watching the the Braves Phillies game and they had great drone shots. That was like the highlight of these games was NBC was crushing it with the drone shots, but they had a really good drone shot of the train going by Yankee Stadium. And my dumb ass brain was like, I wonder who's playing there tonight.

This series was so over that it didn't even hit me. Oh, yeah, right. We got we got game two tonight. I guess that's got to happen. And we got to go through that humiliation ritual. That's just how it goes. And you got a lot of Yankee fans that are obviously, you know, thrown it in our face that Schlitler was dominant. We knew he was going to be great. You were just hoping like we talked about last episode, we would get a start like we had at Yankee Stadium a month ago where he puts guys on for free. That's what you're hoping for. And then somebody runs into one. That was kind of your only chance. Totally ends up going what, four and two thirds. He gives up one or and five hits, four keys. Maybe want that to be a little higher. But I mean, he held his own. He's a friggin' rookie at Yankee Stadium in the playoffs and a kid that at the start of the year, like that would have been pretty crazy to say that he was going to do that. And he was totally fine. This was the biggest thing in my biggest concern going into the series is how it was going to be from the fifth inning on or the sixth inning on Red Sox starters, a 2.89 ERA in the series. They're bullpened 20.25. It was embarrassing once you got to the bullpen. I do kind of feel for crochet today. That's tough. I'm sure we'll, you know, break that down.

But like, I don't know. My biggest takeaway from Sox Twitter is everybody ripping Chad Tracy. Did he have a great series? No. Was he outmanaged? Absolutely. Yeah. They couldn't score. They were outscored 18 to two. Like I'm not going to lose sleep over bringing an Eric Miller and him giving up a run each time when they just can't score that run. They're not like they had two solo homers. Those are the biggest things going into the series. If you're going to hit homers, you need ducks on the pond. Couple useless solo dingers. That's all you had for the entire series. So it's, I'm not going to spend the whole offseason being like pissed about pitching moves and that Ranger Suarez wasn't on the bump. Ranger would have done exactly what Tolly and Gray did. He would have gone four and two thirds, maybe five, given up a run. And it wouldn't have mattered because the socks can't score in the bullpen sucked. So that, that's what the series was. Yeah. I think going into the series, we talked about what the loss of Tyron Guerrero was going to mean. And I think it was as impactful and as scary as a lot of us imagined when we talked about whether Eric Miller had it or not, whether he was going to be able to lock back in, he certainly

wasn't able to. I think the games rocked me just how much the blowouts really came across compared to a year ago where those games, all three of them fell so tight, especially through at least the middle of the game. The first two, you know, going into that seventh inning, you felt like holy shit, the red socks are about to sweep here. But it was just each side punching back and forth. You would hope a Yankees team without Aaron Judge, without Giancarlo Stanton being able to start and be his typical postseason killing self, you would be able to hold your own. Now Roman going down, changes all of that. Now you have such real questions about his future. Curtis Meade, we know it didn't get to impact this lineup the way you had hoped. So you have that to look forward to maybe next year. But I think a combination of just what these games looked and felt like the post game comments where I know you don't care too much for the the Chad Tracy stuff. Steve, I do think that is a pretty big part of this offense is clearly the leading thing and the most concerning thing.

I think Chad Tracy had basically the postseason that when we talked about him signing that deal a week ago, like could he have a playoff series that made you feel different about him? I think this was the kind of playoff series that brought that along. I think there's a lot of people raising real questions and I'm not saying I don't want Chad Tracy as manager of the red socks. But for a guy like Sonny Gray to be calling you out with his own stats after the game, that's a pretty tough one. And like first and third when he got pulled, I believe so. Seven years. I can't hear Sonny. Like he could be right. I understand that. Your first and third. Like I can get. I think you can make the argument for Peyton toly too. And especially what you chose to go to and a guy in Eric Miller who clearly just had not rebounded and there was clear evidence. He hadn't rebounded. His last session had been on that Saturday in Tampa when he was throwing in a simulated game, not against hitters. So hard to take any value out of that. But was extremely aggressive. And to me, which had Tracy, he managed like he was scared his offense couldn't do anything. He said it was right about that.

He said it and he managed that way. And it blew up in a few different spots where it felt like he got a little aggressive. I think how embarrassing is that to you? Because that quote where he basically said he felt like 2o was at a reach. 2o and like the fifth or sixth inning was. Yeah, he's not wrong, but that's pretty sad. Yeah, especially with Schlittler's pitch count getting up there. Yeah. And I think there's spots whether you want to talk Gamboa, Wyatt Olds, like Gamboa got smoked around and maybe they were they were so into the idea of the Yankees not being able to hit lefties. I don't know if that ring is loudly as many people thought going into the series. But even like the bringing in Brian Bayo at the end of the game was like one of the weirder moments where you're like, what is the value here? Wyatt Olds through 18 pitches. Like look at the score right now. If you thought the game was over to nothing, your mind changed. It's at five, nothing like that reshaped you. You thought, oh shit, we got to turn it up. So I do think there was some weariness there. It felt like even in game two at the end, they had kind of just they saw a defeat. So they stopped going with matchups. They left Jemay Jones in who looked completely cooked.

But yeah, I think there's just a more depressing feeling leaving this series than a lot of people thought. And I hope ownership looks at something like this and says, you know, losing to the Yankees two years in a row. That is something that doesn't sit well with us. Our idea of what we want Roman Anthony to be and I love Roman Anthony, we can't keep banking on that for a guy who now has more issues. The same injury as well again. Like we need to start to approach maybe the offense in a way where we need even more certainty and yes, Curtis Mead will be part of it. But you have to attack it in other ways to make this whole group work. Is that a Randy Eros Arena? Is it a say a Suzuki? Is it clearing certain guys out? It's probably all of those things. But to see yourself get over just look so overmash against a Yankees team. That's not operating anywhere near 100%. That's a tough tough pill to swallow and it sucks to see a lot of the main guys on the team now questioning the front office, questioning the manager because it makes you feel so uncertain when it felt like things were going in the right direction. And that's not to say they they aren't.

But clearly there's real questions inside the organization about what's going on from the players. Yeah. I mean, you know, you mentioned the Yankees not being at 100% the Red Sox are not 100% no, like the intended team. It's been some shit luck. Like Garrett crochet was the Saiyung runner up last year. You didn't have him. You'd be like, oh, yeah, we pitched not like he didn't fucking hasn't pitched since April. So like that was his first time on a big league mountain since April. Like that doesn't count. Curtis Mead was like you gave up Connolly early to get Curtis Mead. He was supposed to be your second basement. And I understand like Nick Sougar has been great. But like you want to say like you got Curtis. For you to do. You tell me right. And so guard hit a fucking home run in this game tonight. But yeah, like it is say it on Raphael not healthy Wilson Contreras not healthy. Adley Rutchman like that was someone that you went out and that was your big trade deadline acquisition, not healthy.

Again, no excuse, but to act like the Red Sox went into that series is just rearing to go just not the case. They still maintaining they are not better than the Yankees. They did not have a team that was better than the Yankees. You know, full, full health versus full health. They're not the better team. But it's just unfortunate that I wish I could sit here and say I have full confidence in the Red Sox organization to take this and motivate them to do like what you just said. Like you're going to have to clear people out. You know, like this isn't just out of guy here and there and let's let's send a back out there. Like you're going to have to make some decisions here. I didn't even mention Massa. I mean, he just exists on the treadmill. That's why I saw an update today. Like if they advanced, he was ready to go, right? It's not like that. Tantular. Yeah, I just it's I can't believe it.

Like I said, on the stream, that it was like the LeBron thing on the opposite end of the spectrum. I was like, I can't believe this is my life. Like going from 2018, the feeling of, wow, like they're building us like a super power. It is a team that is capable of winning multiple championships. And the ownership is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep this going. And it wasn't just like 2013 was awesome. Don't get me wrong, but they fell ass backwards into that championship. Whereas 2018 was we drafted, developed international free agency, free agents, trades, like the sale trade, the price signing, all that JD Martinez. It was just every, every way that you could build a team. They went out there and did it. And it was the winningest team in franchise history. And then they were like, all right, enough of that. Like that's just kind of like how it's felt ever since then.

They just they they had done something that was foolproof and dominant. And then they immediately abandoned it. And it's never been the same sense. The, the podra is just a swept the Cubs up out of here in the first player. The cameras found was Zander. It was a very first player because I believe he drove in a run and scored to today. And I, while while everyone was talking, I'm still reading quotes from Wilson and Trehrer is saying how much he hates nerds. And I see jazz chism. I know how people feel about him, but they ask him on the field how he feels. And he immediately references every time we beat Boston, I feel great. And I don't know that there's a single player on the Red Sox who feels the same about beating the Yankees that way. How would they know? They do even regular season like I we saw it. Well, well, Fleming was nearly killed in the streets because of how mad he got it.

Jazz who's still swiping bags up a thousand runs in August. Like he clearly even in the regular season wants to beat the Red Sox. Like you talk about gray. But I got it like we were talking about this on the stream earlier today. Like sunny gray wants to beat the Yankees because of like a personal vendetta. Yeah, he has against Yankees. It's personal. Yeah, personal vendetta when Anthony Rizzo personal vendetta. And that's yeah, that's Durbin personal vendetta. Yeah, it was traded away from them. But like before the either early of the game yesterday or before the game pregame, they're talking to Anthony Rizzo and he former Red Sox farmhand way back in the day, ancient history. He was talking about how like that hatred is cultivated. And by the time I got to the Yankees, like it still taught the other way, by the time he got to the Yankees, I don't know that we were still teaching it that way. I don't know that Roman Anthony and he was not in the minors for very long, but I don't know that it ever crossed his desk. Like you're supposed to beat the bag out of these guys.

I don't know if we're teaching minor leaguers how to win period versus just developing them as individuals, which I think is a larger problem at large for the organization that pivoted to a prospect based organization after the firing of Dave Dombrowski. You know what I mean? That was a hard pivot to a different direction. And now they're focused more on individual growth than winning baseball games. You see it with pitching, you see it with hitting. And when they build it around top guys, not like lottery tickets, but guys who the rest of the industry looks at and goes, yeah, that's a top five prospect in baseball, whether it's Christian Campbell, whether it's Roman Anthony. I don't think my ever got to five T, but he was top 10 for certain. And none of these guys make the slightest impact on your post season. Either year, last year, like you said, you felt worse last year. I feel worse this year. Last year, at least we could be like, well, we didn't have Roman. We'll get him next time.

Braggman was banged up. This team wasn't what it was supposed to be this year. Roman was out there. He got two bats. He was here. Roman into it. We didn't think that coming into the playoffs that we didn't have him. He was out there. Wilson was out there. Guys were playing Wilson played great offensively, real bad defensively, but offensively he was swinging it. He was getting on base, got on base, both games. So yeah, I feel much worse right now. I feel much worse about the culture. The Red Sox have chosen to chase and the lack of it and the lack of care that they seemingly have about winning baseball. Yeah, you can create individuals to be as good as you want, but if they don't know how to win baseball, it's a strange sport because it's a team sport played by individuals. It's not basketball where you can have weak leagues get exposed. It's not football where an offensive lineman can just get targeted time after time. These individuals need to come through, but if they're not playing as a team, which

is what makes it so disheartening because that was what the whole heart of the summer was. It was like anybody could step up at any point in time. The pitching is going to show up. I mean, we could talk about the injuries. What were we talking about last episode? It's the number one rotation, ERA versus the number two rotation ERA versus the number one bullpen ERA versus the number two bullpen ERA. Does it feel that way today? No, no, they beat you in every way possible and I don't know that they care. Even these quotes I haven't seen a quote being like they got us again. It's all just like, man, we suck and they do like the no doubt they do. But I haven't seen them at one point. Be like it sucks losing to them. I've yet to see that until you've seen every quote. I don't know if that's out there, but Sonny Gray is yelling about getting pulled with runners on even the totally stuff. Like people have been belaboring that all day. Like he was awful the inning before he got pulled awful and he got bailed out by Lombard's awful base running decision. Like that was first and second one out. He was scuffling. His velocity was down.

I have no problem with both of those starters getting pulled when they got pulled. You can absolutely argue did they go to the right guy, but we talked about it on the stream. Who was the correct guy to go do in those spots? Ben Rice, you're going to bring in a righty. I don't know if that's the move. What let you bring crochet yesterday? He did get it. He struck out his first batter, but he's also pitching to a catcher who had never caught him before. When he struck out that first batter with some filth in the dirt, it bounced away and he couldn't throw him out at first. That guy fucking scored. Does that just happen yesterday instead? Also, yesterday you lose one rough and like we didn't score a run yet. We were not going to win that game. The second they put one up on the board, not one. I know momentum, everything changes. They were not going to get a hit yesterday. They had no interest in that. Raphaela clearly not a hundred percent. Like I've never seen him jog to first. He slides head first when you're up five runs. You're like, what the fuck are you doing doing? Like, I don't know. I'm very disheartened with the direction of the organization because as the socks,

the guys would point it out. Like, you want big roster makeover. They have three free agents coming off of this team. And I think it's the whole 40. I don't even think it's just the 26. And one of those Patrick Sandeval. So it's not even like, oh, thank Christ. We can figure out what it is. It's Patrick Sandeval, IKF in sunny gray, who has made it clear at least in the seconds after the game ends like he's super all set coming back. He'll take his buy out and he'll sign elsewhere. So yeah, I don't know what the pivot is. I agree, Steve. Like, would Ranger have made a difference? You can't argue with how the starters went out and pitched. You really can't. However, I do think the strategy, and this is where I'm at with game two, once you officially drop game one, I think the strategy for game two needs to be, we're going sunny to Ranger. That's our two pitchers today. We can't, we cannot have our guy, big free agent signing. We got four pitching in the playoffs, not pitch with the Phillies. He didn't always start in the playoffs. He would come out in relief for long chunks.

I do think if they had gone to him because even after Eric Miller gives up the home run, it's too, too nothing. Yeah, I do want to say I think that fifth inning. So this is how it went. It was an awesome, all pop out in a Paul Gouge met lineup. There was nobody on base. Those were the only. No, I'm talking to the name before. No, no, no, I know the inning before when toley. Yeah, he had traffic. And that's why I don't take pulling him at the top of the order was the worst idea. I really don't because the getting prior was so bad. Not when he got pulled. Of course, it was a Ben Rice home run immediately by Eric Miller when he got in a meaty doubt. That was only a solo shot. But the inning before, yeah, he was, he was sloppy. And he seemed to be rejuvenated by that double play like he came off the mound. He was pumped. I don't think it was crazy for them to be like, hey, man, he was really like the velocity adept. He was all over the place. Like it was not how it looked earlier in that game, the inning prior. So I don't hate that thinking. But today, after you've dropped game one, I think the plan had to be we're going sunny to Ranger. That's it.

We're going those two guys and game three. If we get to a game three, we'll figure it. Fuck out. We've got Bale. We've got, yeah, we'd be Bennett. We've got Bale. We've got Bennett. I don't even think like so many people are focused on like the managing that happened. Like Aaron Boone didn't do anything. Like the tip of the cap like he just he didn't have to like, and the organization set it up. So they were like, we know Cam's going to go as many innings as we need. That was the confidence. I think you saw him where he's like, I know these guys this lineup. They're not going to be able to do it. We know our arms are good enough. So like I will be confident in the same way. Chad Tracy was like, if I, I'm scared if I just leave one starter in a batter too long, it's going to be the difference. And like even still like you could have probably been perfect in those spots and it wouldn't have mattered much. It mattered. And I do think that's where you like lead back to the Tyron Guerrero thing. I do think with Gray, especially I would have let him finish the fifth inning in that spot with his numbers and he cited him where he stands in the American league, which credit to him.

He knew his fucking numbers off the top of his head. Third time through the order this season, he has a 199 ERA that's second best in the A L Kumar rockers at 157 with way less half the innings. It would be third in all the baseball if you take Kumaro and it's Chris sale and Eddie Roderick as a head of them. Like how many third times through the order though has it been eight out of nine lefties? He's about to face. You know what I mean? Like, no, situationally, it's just not the same. I think for me like in those spots, you know your bullpen probably does not have the dogs it needs to get through it. And this is the hard part with crochet. Tracy said it after the game. I don't feel comfortable throwing him in the middle of an inning. He can't come in with you know, a guy on or whatever the situation needs to be. It's a clean inning and it was 25 pitches. We're going to max out there and they could hit the button one time. They just I think he goes to show you how badly they needed another fireman in that bullpen. And what it had been is great match up wise. Obviously with Guerrero coming in like you go even to the the Cody balance yourself. Cody balance your hits lefties.

He's at lefties for some time now. He even spits splits overall. I think it's a 110 WRC plus against lefties. Ben Rice while he's not the same hitter against lefties. He's not a bum against the me there. I think more people were just willing to ride with the rotation for another out because you knew who's going to be hard to match up with the bullpen. And unfortunately when Chad Tracy ended up matching up with the bullpen a lot of the time, it imploded the first game especially like you're working with lower leverage arm. So I do think it's a little different when you look at the end result. Yeah. But you know, this is the thing with Tracy and me during the regular season. I can't count many moments where I was like, I don't like what he's doing out there. In real time, I had multiple moments during this two game series where I was like, that's weird. I don't know about that one. So yeah, I wasn't super impressed with Chad Tracy this series, but he's a rookie manager and much like the lessons I think we've learned on Breslow to a certain degree. You have to leave room for that learning curve. You have to realize those things. And I don't think the Red Sox are shaken on their decision to hire him.

I do think they're happy they did this because I think the conversation would have been a lot more interesting. There would have been at least something to argue that didn't exist about whether he should be the guy moving forward. Having uncontrolled eosinophilic esophageitis or EOE can mean you're stuck in many ways, like cutting your food into tiny pieces or stuck chewing food for a long time. You pick some deppilla-map, a prescription medicine for patients one year and older weighing at least 33 pounds can help with that. It's a breakthrough treatment that can reduce inflammation in the esophagus and improve swallowing. How about this? You pick some is not a steroid. It proactively treats EOE so you can get ahead of it. Severe allergic reactions, including skin reactions, can occur. Get help right away if you have trouble breathing or weasin or swelling of your face, mouth, tongue, or throat. And I think we were thinking that when he signed that deal in the back of our minds,

I think a lot of us for thinking if you lose into a New Yorker. 100% can't really happen. You can't then. All right, we're bringing about a match in tomorrow works, stand in on works, and impress. So picking up the options, that doesn't really work. Yeah, it's like the two best players on the team called out the manager. That is like a crazy thing. When you just think about it like that, that is a wild thing that that happened because like say what you will about Kora and Kora was not perfect. I didn't love how we handled the bullpen last year in the Yankee series. That's a crazy thing that both of those guys and they didn't even hesitate to do it. Not even a little bit. Now, Gray's gone. Well, also get sure still has to be here and we know how well, so get sure. Wilson's always going to say stuff. Yeah, I'm not. So that's a big thing in a clubhouse moving forward that both of those guys, at least for Contreras, like publicly said, like when after they're, Wilson called out everybody in the organization. Yeah, he said everyone for him sucks basically. Yeah, not incorrect. Like I'm the decision. Talk about having your guys back.

Talk about him that sucked to. Yeah, he was really bad. He had like three eyes for a month and a half. And for just a team, it felt like everyone in that streak was like, have your back. It's us against the world. Fuck everybody. We won't forget how everyone talked. That was a lot different. That behavior was a lot different and it's Wilson, like a churse. He's going to say things. I understand that, but that's a rough, rough ending to something that at least I never thought it would get to that point. There wouldn't be a moment where these guys were willing to take shots at Chattracy, who seemed like one of the main sparks for the reason they did turn it around. Sure. It kind of, the way this season went, it reminds me of like a high school relationship where you have a little period that's just so great. It's like, oh my god, am I going to marry? Is this my person? I think this is my person. This is what love feels like. And then you go a little ways and you're like, are we good? Like is everything alright? Like I think we're good. And then it's like you go off to college like, no, we're not. We're clearly not good. This is over. It's very much over.

We were all trying to convince ourselves myself, included that some of these dudes that were part of 32 and 5, which just match really kind of reappear, come game one and hopefully tonight someone would run into a big swing. But realistically, when you're looking at these dudes, it's like physically they're there. They're like the bodies of the guys that were having the big swings, the Caleb Durban's Wilson Kichurras, even though he went to today. Say Don. Exactly. You go down the list. It's like, yes, they're present. They're in the lineup, but it's not that version. It's like with the monsters or whatever. Like they lost their talents. Like they got that got sucked out of them. And now they're just kind of existing in a postseason environment that they really have no business being in. Honestly, like there's other teams that absolutely would have put up a better run than that. I know a couple of days ago when we did the preview show, I was saying this series is probably going to be one between the fifth and seventh innings. Yankees won those innings, 11 to two. And you just kind of knew that at that point, okay, we're cooked.

Like that when it got to that point, the seventh through nine didn't matter. I felt terrible at Calum. Shout out to Andy Wong and everybody at Calum. They did an incredible job setting all of that up. That was the highlight of this series, just the hospitality that they had for us and everybody that showed up. But everyone kind of had the same energy for the first like four or five innings. I would down one. We're down one nothing. And if you remember it, House of Blues last year, it was the same there too. I would down one nothing, but hey, you know, you just need a couple swings here and there. I know Yoshida had one, I think, Braggie had one. And it's like, okay, you win the game. That's how you had to win this series. And it just didn't happen. And when it doesn't happen, it ends so, so quickly. I remember seeing a couple of days ago, and I always like taking a peek after we do our postseason preview when we can do a postseason preview. The first year we came back, they didn't make the playoffs. But I'm seeing PV. I love Jake PV. What are my favorite people in this space? And he had, and maybe this is just because he played for both these teams, but he had Red Sox Padres as his World Series matchup. And I'm just like, this team may make the World Series, but like the Red Sox and the World

Series, like, how is that possible? But you want it still stay a little irrational. Because as a fan, you kind of keep that in your brain of like, yeah, but if Toli's great and if Gray's great, and if you find a way to get three runs home, like that's kind of what it is. But this team's not close to the best team we ever had in section 10 history. In 2018, like that Red Sox team, as you need to do, one 11 playoff games, well, if you get the, you know, now you need to win more if you want to these wildcard teams, but they won 11 playoff games in 2018 and routes of becoming World Series champions. And the eight seasons since winning it all, the Red Sox of one seven total playoff games. That is embarrassing. You should be embarrassed if that's the case. It's, it's, yeah, seriously, it is. And you know, tossing a meaningless one last year. That's like the home playoff game thing. The fact that it's going to be a half decade now, since you played a home playoff game that way, it'll be six years next year. Like the idea of that like breaks my brain. And I do think that's one of the things you need to look at this year and how they build going forward where they're over the second luxury tax by about four million.

And they can get up to the third without getting a draft pick deduction or anything. It's just money at that point. They're paying seven million in taxes this year. It's not some ridiculous figure or something like that. But this is the most money they've invested in the team in some time. And they had a lot of bad breaks going into this off season. You need to look at a couple of things. You need to figure out a way for this team to be good enough through 162 that they're not on the road for a wild card series that their season doesn't come down to something like that. Or you can win the division and make sure you're or just make sure you have home field advantage or a buy or something. Make it so that you're not having to claw back to such a significant degree. You shouldn't have to get put in this spot all the time with what you're investing in this team now. And that's going to require stepping it up when you look at a team like the Yankees. But the race have been able to do what they did this year while spending way less. You just you have to be ready to act with the aggression of we're not satisfied being a wild card team. We're not satisfied just making an appearance in October.

It's about actually pushing for the World Series. And while that money did get stepped up from last year to this year, there's another gear that the Red Sox should be operating with. And it would give them way more margin for error when it comes to these runs and when it comes to making a push. And that's what people are going to expect. And you hope that would come out of losing to the Yankees twice in a row like this. But none of us feel confident in that. And there's no reason you should feel confident in that because they haven't acted that way. Yeah. No, and feel like they made the playoffs. No, I was just going to say that. I was going to say that. I was going to say it last year. It's the same thing where it's like when you go there and it's a best of three and you're done. And it's like the playing round basically. I mean, this isn't like the real post season. And I know the, I think the job like guys have pointed this out and it's funny. I would have done the same thing. The Red Sox had the, like whatever the shirt says, like we play ball in October or what I know you don't. Like it was Sox Timber. They didn't even get to Soxtober. Like that's how embarrassing this. You can't even say playoff run. They had two games. It's just high by. It was 27 hours and you're at it here.

It's been 1800 and eight days since they've won an October playoff game. He embarrassed. Like that should be embarrassing. And I know I say it all the time. You mentioned a half decade thing to you. It's been a half decades since they've just held Soul possession of first place in the ALE's that's great. At any point of any of those seasons, you're the Boston fucking Red Sox. Like that is so, so bad. And again, this was, you saved our summer. Thankful for that. First year we're independent without that. I would have, I want to jump, jump off the Zakrum. But like it's, we needed that stretch just to at least give us a little bit of life as the fan base. But you still now, when the reality sets in and the check comes, this is what it is. Here you go, guys. Two O sweep. And now it's the yearly tradition that we have where you just root against the Yankees in October. Like I'm sick of this. Call it. That stretch, and it was very fun. I'm not here to retcon how fun we had during that stretch. That stretch may have set this franchise back a half decade because not only did it change keeping Craig, who, I mean, they came out on radio and they were like, there may be

more fireings post-core. Like that's how bad things were, especially after the Rocky series, relaxed. It's like the bad. It's like the show bad. It's like show bad. It's not only do you do not fire Craig, and I'm not sitting here saying like he deserves to go, but it's like not, you extend him for two extra years. And I know he's not going in. You're celebrating. They're not going to be paying three or two, however many that be paying at that point in time. They're not going to be paying multiple for multiple years running the team. But you also don't got your farm system, which already wasn't the strongest it has been a reason years to go by. You probably, you probably still do make the meat trade because that was a long-term deal, but you definitely not make the Adley trade. You know what I mean? You're definitely not. You might do Eric Miller just because you want to get my erotic here. And it was crazy. He came up in the news this world's dad did. He came up in the news this week. Well, Meyer was in the news after the article because he got asked like, what was the best

moment of your season? He said getting traded. Love that. But you're probably selling and like strengthening your farm system so that you can't actually go out and make impactful deals this off season. Like it just kind of changes everything. And obviously, yeah, first year, like selfishly Steve, you're right. Like first year, we're independent and all that. Like we needed that summer. We needed to get into the postseason. We needed to play some September baseball. But like looking at it objectively, like it may have fucked them over for the foreseeable future. Whereas it may have just been a lot cleaner to just eat all that shit at once, make some different decisions and have a different direction right now because right now, I just am not extremely confident. We talked about during the stream a little bit like last year at this point in time. If you asked us like our untradable list, we'd be naming names. At least like five, six, eight, nine names.

It's like really just toly. Like it just give me toly and quote like crochet hasn't done anything wrong and can imagine a I don't want to trade and be. I don't imagine who is like dying to get the guy whose arm fell off this year. But in terms of like real, real guys who can go get you something right now, toly is like the only one I'd be like crestfallen if they moved him right the second. You want to go into next year and actually feel like on opening day because I don't think we were even at this point. This is a World Series caliber team. Like Craig, we need you to come out and have not only the aggression in an offseason, but the type of offseason where there's no part of roster deficiencies or anything like that. Still we look at this series and yes, the injuries, me, Roman, we hit on them all. You were still sitting there in the thought of Rafael Devers was allowed in your head of having that like 140 OPO's plus bad that could go in there, especially at Yankee Stadium. You are just going to go to Rafi. Like that is the man who raked there and put up numbers there and was just a threat.

He was in the franchise's head. You're still seemingly searching for that. In a lot of ways, Wilson was incredible this year. He hit offensively. Roman wasn't able to. So you need to make sure there's no worry. There's no doubt you are going to have two real anchors in that lineup next year. There can't be unfinished business. It's time to truly act like a World Series contender. If we want to talk about 2025, they acted like they wanted to make the wild card round. I would call this past season, oh, they want to make the ALDS and they didn't make it that far. You still didn't quite get to that level. And yes, a lot went against them. So I'm not going to call it a failure. We've talked about the most days or the highest F war loss to the high L this season. We can acknowledge all of that. You're still not where you're supposed to be. At least in terms of the way you're talking, where you are in your development cycle, it's time to step up. It's time to nut up and we have to see it. I want to see you get up to that third luxury tax number bare minimum. I'd like you to go beyond it.

I want to see this hurt you as bad as it feels for us. I want to see an AL East team. We sell it all year. We built like DH style. You know, we're an AL central team in the AL East, but I think the other thing too, like you know, when you talk about the highest amount of F war that ends up on the injured list, like sure, some of that is bad luck. But now when you start to get into Roman territory, it's like, well, how much of this should you bake into it? You can do a crochet too. Crochet Wilson Contreras. Like that's a guy that historically gets hurt annually. And now we're looking at a tape and keep going, Jared. You can't bet on Wilson having the chair again. No, but this is right into your head. Can you keep going? No, but you can't. You can't. Well, you're next point, Jerry. You keep going. Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of guys that you just have to know are going to get hurt. And there's a certain point where it's like, you know, not bad luck. It's just you should know that shit.

Yeah. See? No, I think that's exactly it. I'm going to be gay. You're gay. I'm going to be gay. You're like, like, I got you off to make your point for you. Yeah. I just moved to Jerry. That's so well. It's like when you see a sandwich and you're just like, I want to throw something in there to just finish it for him, classic. Classic. Sorry. But no, when like, you're talking even Wilson, like in those anchors, like, we can't expect Wilson to repeat this year. Simply based on age, simply based on how? Yeah. Like he was so free. He's quite reminiscent of Michael Loll when it's like, yeah, he got him in his mid-30s and you were like, man, this guy is the fucking man. And then they gave him an extension. It's like, this guy fucking sucks. I love Michael Loll. But like it, I think even he would tell you that like, you know, they won the World Series in 2007. They had the signs, re-sign Loll. And then they were like, all right, fine. And then it was just, yeah, like he's a platoon DH now. I want a DH back so bad. So for these last year and this year, it's just like guys, you're the Red Sox.

These are not Red Sox. DH is for playoff games. The Red Sox more than any franchise should understand the value of a really good DH. Yeah. History. There's no reason, Cole. Come on. Well, it's like, and I have people being like, they never wanted to pay or a tease. And that was true too. Like in real time, they were constantly, everyone always gets mad at David Ortiz for breaking into Frank Kohn as press conference to yell about one single RBI and being like, what a selfish prick. Why did he do that? Because he knew every year they made him beg for his fucking food in that front office. And I was thinking about today like why the Red Sox in part did that because no one ever came and tried to steal David Ortiz from us ever, ever. And obviously the NL didn't have DH at the time, but not the eight, even the Yankees. Like what was their excuse to never try and sign David Ortiz now that I think about it? And I was like, no, you guys keep fucking us, man. Like we love that. We love when you come in here and just blast home runs in our face. It's insane.

JD was so good. You had Shorber and we're not going to keep going back to like 21, 22 and all that, but you had the perfect guy. And I'm not even saying last off season because the last off season didn't even really make that much sense. And he didn't seem like he really wanted to leave Philly at that point, but you just, you'd need a DH in it. Like if it's Roman, I think that's a waste of who he can't, if people don't want to play in first, you certainly can't be like, that's our DH. There's no longer we don't need to play the Jarrin Duran game anymore, whether you think he can be something in that's what scares me. Kole that they're like, just he has to bounce back. He's not this bad of a ball player. And in theory, I agree with you. We can't do it here. You can't play the game here anymore. It doesn't work. So that's where I look at DH and I think it goes in two ways. If you're just moving Roman to left, if everything heals up and goes right, which now we have to live that fucking drama for the whole off season, what does he look like when he gets a spring training? Yada, yada, yada. Oh, what about Adley Rucketsman's extension? What does that mean? All this stuff going on, it's going to be his Curtis Meade supposed to be your DH or are

you going to trust him to play second and you go and sign one of those guys and I don't know if like Randy and say us as ooki fit that Kole like of the, obviously they're not David Ortiz, but they'll give you that level of security. But both guys that are kind of built for Fenway Park as a ballpark. I want to Randy, what's three years ago? Yeah, I'm big on say. I still that report that came from Japan when he was like, he's a boss in Red Sock and like it's done. He's wearing the jersey in his room right now. I'd be super into that. Yeah, I can't think about free, because the free class sucks, right? Yeah. Yeah, I'm not going to be able to, I'm not going to be able to think about free agents for a while. I mean, I'm not going to be able to think about free agents for a while. Is it crazy to say that I'm relieved that it was over quick? Just fucking bought in the back of my skull and just get it over with because like I just didn't, I didn't believe, I didn't believe in this team. And of course, people are going to be like, yeah, but you picked them.

Do you think I was going to pick the Yankees? I'm going to pick the Yankees. You can't pick the Yankees. You can't pick the Yankees. I did believe they could win like for the same reasons we talked about all season, the Aels bat. Like it's not good. And when before the the series, when I was on stream with J.A. and Dallas, I was like, this does not look like a Yankees lineup. I also said before that, like watch they're going to hang eight runs on us tonight. Please don't clip this. I haven't seen it yet. Thank Christ. But like it's not a good light like I still don't feel like the two teams we watched, the talent gap is as wide as it was on the field. That's what's so disorganing. 18 to two does not represent what these teams are. No. And it's like the bullpen, like there are a lot of things bothers me because it's just like when like how is a guy like that? So we're going to leave them off the postseason roster. No, of course not. Like so he can only bounce back by going out and pitching and bouncing back. You know what I mean? And T like you should be taking the largest victory lap in the world. Like you were talking about it.

And T you're right. I can't remember who he was right. You're right. You're right. I just like you you. I'm not seeing you have to pitch in both days. Obviously that's a little crazy like the doubling down. Yeah. Right. Day two, I have more problem with than day one day one. It's just like well, fuck that didn't work. But also the damage. The damage in either game wasn't crippling. It didn't end you. Exactly. But because the offense was so shit like it also did. Like it was just immediately after Wilson, Homer's you just give it right back. And it's just like good Christmet like the. I don't know. It the Yankees team right now just speaking as players as they went out and attacked that series far more likable bunch than the Red Sox and at no point in my life have I ever felt that way at no point. It is sad because you're in a likely a lot of people listening are going to look back at this as kind of the one that got away. Like this is a season they easily could have ended up in the world series. But once we got to this point, it was like, is this lineup going to do it, man? That's why like Cole, you're not wrong about the competition sucking because the American

league blows. Like I was even just thinking after that as it was what the seventh thing I'm like, all right, well, this game is over. Let's think about like who else could actually come out of the American league. Obviously, we hope it's not the Yankees. And none of them are sexy. None of them are going to like blow you away. None of them are going to come into your your building, especially in the national league and be like, oh no, we've got to face these guys. There's not a single lineup that has that. And that's what sucks when you saw this team buzzing in the summer. It's like, oh yeah, they could be in the freaking world series. They could actually maybe by go all the way. I mean, get at least to the stage and end up with the silver. Like I'm fine with that. But yeah, Felger wasn't being a homer. No, like Felger was mocking me when I was like, yeah, this team could come out of the American league. It was after they had swept the Yankees in four. They swept the raisin four. I was like, those are the teams that are going to stay in your way. If you are going to go to the world series, they swept the season series for the white socks 6.0. I was just like, okay, so that's the best the American league has right now.

And of course, like if they were the summer socks going into this series and yeah, completely differently. But like that run is over and it's it's been over. It's been over for a while. And they were. Were they they were under 500 after the run T. I get wonder. Yeah, they're just call it. They were 500. They were 500. They were 500 August 8th. It's been two months. Yeah, they were they were 500 since the run ended. But the worst offense in Major League Baseball for the month of September. So like, yeah, like I didn't. I said it was the least confidence that I've had in a Red Sox playoff team since the 2019 team. And they got swept by the angels. Yeah, I just I wasn't I think that if you were to honestly ask the of course, there are going to be Red Sox fans who like every year I feel like they can win the world series. Okay, like that's fucking stupid. But the fans that are actually watching 162 and they see it.

It's not just oh, like I you know, I saw the commercials on Nesson about how great this team is. Like sure, like if that's the only thing that you're consuming and then you have your delusions that they could go on a run. You just you can't be considered a serious team or a threat to anybody when you go down to and the game feels over. You can't it's just the amount of times and even in this series when it was one nothing that crowd of cow loon is looking at each other like are we cooked like is one going to do it for the Yankees right here that's kind of what it felt like I forget T and maybe you remember but whatever that stat was I know Lou would reference it a couple times the first few months of the season what their record was when they went down to runs. It was some like oh and 40 it was really real real bad to the point where I had to like triple check with other probably because this can't be right. There's no way this is right but it was and there be games whatever first thing you give up like a two run bomb and we would jokingly but kind of seriously tweet have a fun night like do something else with your night because this games over and you know I always keep

an eye and the Yankees are a good example of this when they're not going well their social media count kills me because it'll be like you know big game tonight and it'll be the starter and then it'll be final like red socks five Yankees zero that was us the red socks social account have one tweet during the series and it was the Wilson over and that was it everything else was there was I got to pull up the one from game. I'm gonna say no I don't blame them but it's just if you told me going into this like yeah hey socks social is going to tweet once during the series who you got like who you think's winning this one the game one one they tweet the roster and then thank you red socks thank you red games game one six inning they just tweet. Here's the lineup and we'll see and spring training that's basically what happened yeah it was let's do this thing with a picture of being totally and then it goes final Yankees nine red socks here I'm like I don't think I don't think we did the thing man I really don't think we did the thing and then yeah set for game two it was the lineup post you

had ready to turn the page tonight with a little sunny sunny gray pregame thing and essentially Wilson goes deep final Yankees nine red socks to so I don't know it's it's just blows man it sucks and blows I would say Jerry I think it's both and now you got to have the off season where I had said a couple weeks ago and I think we would all agree like it's only got to make a million changes you know you got you luckily you have guys on this roster that are still going to be there here that you're going to rely on it was a little funny to me that meet ends up making the roster and it's like I was kind of used to but yeah hopefully he can be somebody that matters for you and in that D.H. position somewhere that you've really struggled not just in general but in the post seasons like that guy has D.H. next to his name so we'll see but it's just it's going to be a long off season it could have been why we'll say it's not just the be mister positive like I try to do this could have been way way worse we could have had like three more months of just meaningless shit after that first couple of months at least we got that run but now it's like okay be realistic like put a team out there that you think can actually win the division and not just get

to a best of three where we're just in this same spot again in 2027 I would much rather have not made the playoffs and lost the Yankees and I know people got yelled at me for that last year but I really don't like losing to the Yankees like it's not fun it bothers me tremendously like is it better from a show standpoint I suppose but like I really don't like how I feel right now I don't like how I felt last year at this point in time like we went like I'm 37 we went 20 years not losing a series to the Yankees in the playoffs and then back to back fucking years back to back years yeah it's what it'd be now three and four series record all time in the playoffs against the Yankees they'd be I think it's 14 and 17 in games now so yeah it's not ideal no I don't like any of that like they already have the ring count over us like teen and have forever like I yeah it's not like oh we got the series over you but it was like yeah they they knew come October like fuck we can't beat these guys and now they don't think

that way because they shouldn't but I kind of do think some something crazy does need that I do think they're a little further away they were giving them credit for there's less 18 to fucking two like they're pretty far away like we built an AL central team and the Yankees love playing AL central teams and September and October and it was supposed to be their pitching that carried them and defense the defense was shit yeah yeah I made it well well said well said was awful how was Wilson doing today he had no idea what is doing in the field stand at the back of the bag just hand out to bad plays at first base yeah I'd leave fucking fired one into the center field mix so bad Nick so guard was fucking playing I'm telling you you asked one guy to show up and do something for you he'll give you a homer he made the insane double play the day before you want guys like that that you're not worried about I was I saw so again the lineup I'm like yeah he'll be fine he'll be good he's not gonna be worried about this he makes like the best double play I've seen all year and it's a solo shot tonight I know it doesn't really matter but again like

he wasn't the issue and it's an athlete I do give him credit he saw a shitload of pitches but that's what sucks where it did or socks fans are like he's saying pitches he's fouling them all we're getting the pitch count up like this is so weak to be rooting for a pitch count to go up and that's all we had going for us like our second best player this series was fucking Nate Eaton who yeah had a double where he just ran directly to second base and he threw someone out at home like legitimately he did the things you thought willier would do yeah it's like willier we've we we talk about how unfair we've been to Roman we've bet we expect willier to be like way better than he actually is and he's been better than he was supposed to be and that's not like that's just when we acquired him it was like in manual valdez is the real ticket here and then will you maybe so no me and the willier was just like by the way I'm nasty and he is he's got a one gold glove like he says he had a horrible throw game one I think is a hit over the air I guess he had hit last night one and split there was running on fumes but like we need we we cast him as like a

a top three hitter and he if he's going to be Venezuelan trot Nixon like he does need to be hitting six seventh eighth like he does need to be down there for this to be that world series caliber lineup that we're talking about if he's going to continue to be top half of the lineup like we know how streaky he is that's not going to work Steve. Yeah, very important thing that we got to talk about I think everybody knows this is coming they knew it was going to happen. We got to talk about who's headline and the Super Bowl halftime show. Who do you think is favored on Cal's percentage wise doesn't be a headline just in Bieber's fourth he's got 13%. That might have been my yes what's Taylor Swift at she's done it right now. I think she's done it. Yeah, she's not she's at four percent but that that's I think just out of respect for the popularity. I thought I thought is third. Good guess 27% from my Lee. See if you can get the top two here. Post Malone. Post he's on here. He's at four percent. There's no world he would do it or should do it.

I mean he resonates with like the hillbilly NFL. He's not selling concert ticket to sell his life. He can't afford to store. They're each males. It's two males. Okay. I saw people talking that Jay Z could be in the conversation. Jay Z is number one to 40 every percent. And then a guy that sells out every arena he goes to Harry Styles. Number two styles would put on the show. If you would willing to do like you know a rest in peace to Liam but if he was willing to do like a one direction somewhat of a union moment that would go pretty crazy. He can't. He has way bigger songs than what one direction had. No, but I think if you're looking for the fusion and the whole catalog that gets you there, right? Like how many not to get too deep here? How many songs are you doing from like sign of the times or is that is that the his first project Martha plays in the car all the time? Like I think that's his one big song for that. No, he's good. He's got the water mountain sugar high. That's him. Yeah, water melon sugar tits. Yeah, he's got that watermelon sugar

tits. Yeah, fine line. If you told me for this series on Wednesday night, we're going to be talking to the Super Bowl headline is I'm like, but doop doop doop. But yeah, that's where we are. So Jay Z who's a ego. Who's a fucking fifth? Are you on a ground day? Madonna's right behind her followed by the backstreet boys. Backstreet boys. That backstreet boys. They're not carrying a punch in 26. But if they were back to big two side, yeah. But they did the sphere last year. That's why they're on this list. I got to get to the sphere that looks fun. That does look enjoyable. You two, you know, you two, right, T? Yeah, they gave you the fucking elbow when you used to buy the iPhone. I was like, who are these fox? Right. I did hate that. It's like, I didn't invite you in here. I do like you too, but I do like that exactly once and everyone hated it. They're like, all right, we're sorry.

Yeah, I can't do it. All time, half time show what 24 years ago, but yeah, that was forcing about that. And someone responded to it like recently, but the tweet was from the time. Who the hell is searching my tweets for you to takes? I just got to see what he thinks about you. He's definitely tweeted about you too in the past. He's got some thoughts. Yeah. You do September 14, 2014. I tweeted, well, I have to tweet about this. Apple sneaking a YouTube album onto everyone's iPhone is worse than Ben Charington sneaking Steven Drew onto the 2014 red. That's a bar. I would have retweeted that shit. Yeah. Yeah. Sox lose a thousand to one. Yeah. Yeah. That's tough. I don't know. Like I said, I hate to say it, but it's how I feel. I'm just, I'm kind of relieved to be able to put this team in the dirt and

move on to just covering the rest of the playoffs and being able to like watch stress free baseball games and having to sit here on a nightly basis wondering if the Red Sox will even score one singular run. Yeah. There weren't any stress in these games. That's like, I don't feel like I watch two playoff games. I feel like I just watch like the Red Sox can beat down smoke in the regular season. I'm humiliation ritual and then went to bed. Yeah. And then the Yankees like clenched their playoffs. That's what I feel like I watch. Like we got eliminated from the regular season. They they punch their tickets to the playoffs. That's how it feels like that. I know we say it, but it's you didn't really play in the playoffs if you didn't play in October. You just didn't. So like they play a couple games at the end of September and the Yankees are like, we still own you, see you later and they're going to Tampa. That's basically how it is. It sucks. And you know, we set it before the series started like, yes, it's a best of three things can happen quickly, which kind of made gave you a little delusion to the socks could do it because it's like, no, we can kind of sneak in there. Maybe get a couple and get out of there. Like there's just the nature of the series, but then so much rides on it. And then this is the obvious stuff because

it sucks Yankees and then they have that over you that that part blows even though it's a short one. And now if they lose the Tampa, it doesn't matter a ton, but still you don't want them to have that over you back to back years. And you know, what's the last time like you beat him in a one game playoff in 21 and then you got to go back to oh four. So it's you don't get many chances at this. Maybe now with the the new playoff or new wish playoff format, you're going to get a couple more chances at it. But ideally, you're in a position where it can happen at Fenway. And I look at like the bullpen and the rotation and like in my head, I feel really solid about them moving forward. Like the rotation you move sunny gray out of it. Obviously, that's a very significant loss, but you plug crochet in and whatever the if maybe they go and chase an innings eater like that righty to kind of fit in the group. I would have that lower on my list because I think you have so many fine arms. Right. You have Bayo in there. Like I know Tanner Halk. Like I don't love him as a starter. I'd prefer him as a reliever. You still have Johan Oviato. You still have Cutter Crawford. Like these guys are going to need a role of some sort. And I'd probably put Cutter

closer to that bullpen combo as well. But like I feel really good about the rotation still. The bullpen like get healthy. Justice Layton should hopefully be in there as long as as UCL is in like non-existent by the end of the offseason. Tyrone Guerrero will be here. Chapman another year older. Okay. Like you hope the stuff obviously declined a little bit from a year ago. Let's hope it just stays where it's at. You will be fine at the closer spot. You can play defense. It's just about making sure that lineup gets to a point where it's not okay or a little bit better than okay or like we saw at certain points this year. Not even average. After the Deverschrayed in 25, I think they were like 12th in WRC plus this year. They were not that elite offense. They had that hot stretch that great six weeks. But they were never an offense that was feared and we kept building up Roman and all that. You need to find a way to make that lineup at least somewhat close to what you can do pitching and defensively. And then you'll have a complete team that can push for the division or at least home playoff games. And that's what the focus needs to be on and goes back to Brazzles

comments in November last year. Power in the playoffs. All that shit. You didn't check that box off. Wilson in the first game like over four three Ks. He wasn't right. We understand what it is. That's a guy who's been hurt a lot in his career. You need to make sure it's not on one guy or two guys. You need a full lineup. That's ready to go to war against the best team. Is he just the DH? Is that just as simple as it gets? I would think about that simply because if it just protects that body and he gets beat up playing first base. I don't think he was the same defender after the first couple months of the year. No, you know, but Curtis needs like defensive metrics of first word. It's terrible. And yes, they're bad everywhere. That's the whole thing, which is the DH combo all again. You know, to piggyback off what you said to you. I should have mentioned obviously the 2018 series. You need a team like that 2018 team that goes into Yankee Stadium is like whatever man. Like obviously we're going to win this series. We're going to knock him out in their house, flip the bird, see you later, celebrate in their clubhouse, play the music and do all that. Like that's what you want. And not to say that this roster was like scared of going into Yankee

Stadium. I just didn't think they had enough guys at this point of the year that could that could be boppers that could actually have, you know, I say big swings every three seconds, but that could actually have big swings. They didn't have those guys. So it's clear they didn't believe in themselves. No, you can tell in the middle of the season when they were like it's us against the world. By the time they showed up to the playoffs, I think the injuries definitely play a part of it. I'm not using that as an excuse. I'm saying for how they felt. I think they knew they were out of gas. I think they knew they had nothing and didn't believe that anyone was going to do it. And you saw the, you saw those looks after game four a month ago, Yankee Stadium and everyone's bitching about the state on play. And it's like you lost by 16. I don't know if that was worth 15 runs. And even at the time, and I'm saying that can change the whole game and all that, but still, that was probably the first time we're really kicked in like, and we might be in trouble here. We might be in trouble. This was a game where you had to show up where you could have clinched the tiebreaker, which likely wouldn't have mattered because then you played 500 ball from that point

on. But still, that was like a nuts on the table. Let's go. What do you got? And you laid an egg. Nothing. And that's like exactly what they just did going back to Yankee Stadium here. So obviously you got to shake things up a little bit to not have a rerun of this trash. But that's an excellent 9-2. Yeah. That was Paul's game quotes, man. They, if it was like a positive like, hey, man, it is what it, you know, you're right. Like last year, like I can't remember a single comment after they got eliminated. Like anything that was said that stood out or like meant anything to just have multiple like that and to bring it back to the nerd conversation, like where things are at. Like is there, is there some frustration, frustration? Thank you. Amongst the group with like the numbers and the way the organization's running, how they're approaching hitting. I don't know. And even the

questions like with injuries and the socks prospect guys keep talking about how hitting development, like the red socks are constant conversation that like, are they doing it the right way? Are they able to get someone of the big leagues and not only have a stretch of success maintain that success? Can they be a good hitter for five years and not to bring it back to this guy, but you look at someone like Ben Rice who's just kind of, all right, we gotta go to the sunny gray comment. Go. Like that's crazy. He's kind of wild. He's kind of he's been asked like multiple times about this and he's had the same demeanor of like almost dumb question. It's like, no, that's like the only question to ask you right now. The scene. It was never when it came to the Boston and the red socks was always how much I love the city, how much I've enjoyed my time here. Like yada yada that right there. Like what was the what was the point unless you truly are like, fuck the way this team's being run?

I don't know how I was handled. Like that's just it's weird. It's very weird and things are wrong. I understand that. Because I mean like, Boris clients are a different breed, especially when you're a veteran and he is a Boris guy. No, wait, nope, I typed in Scott Boris agent. That's not smart. Who's Boris agent? No, Scott Boris and agent are Scott Boris. I'm getting full mechanists. I go with Scott Boris. There he is. He's still there. Yeah, bull machinist. Yeah, no, this is just a weird bird, man. Dr. Peasant on cat. He's a weird fella and he unbelievable regular season. They didn't pitch bad in the playoffs by any stretch or whatever one I call that, but I'm not going to cry if he's not on the team. I mean, we talked about that like a month ago. Like I wasn't prepared to overextend from to begin with. So yeah, and I also want people that want to be here. If you're if you're propped up to say like, I love my time here and

you're just like, I don't even fucking know if I want to be here right now. Like it. I don't know. Anyways, you can give the double answer. You can give that. I don't know what's going to happen by the last year. It's the it's a layup. It was just I want to stick this to someone and it seems like yeah, trying to stick it to Chad Tracy. I think he had something and this sounds like a Yankee fan thing to say. You think maybe two would say it, but I I thought he had something going on and his neck there. Like it actually looked like there was some some goop or something going on there. Yeah, he did the way he spins that baseball, which I'm fine with by the 100% what I am. When we're getting our dicks punched in, I want as much cheat and going on as well. Like if you're watching just about every picture has something of course you're back to the old rule of don't make it fucking obvious. Don't be insane. Don't be obvious. Yeah, but it was very obvious what he was doing. But not it's not Michael Pineda. It's not Clay Buckle just fucking digging into his hair like walking back behind the mound. Like there's ways to do it. Yeah, this is this is Wilson

Contreras with some interesting comments. We have the worst team of all time. I mean, this is a lot of things to get better at in each area of the game. If you watch the game, we have to get better at the game running. We have to get better at taking care of the of the of the Steelers. We have to do a lot of different stuff and it's not enough when you have talent or you have data or you have computers that's telling you what to do because this is baseball and in the data here to help us by at the end of the day, you're going to have we're going to have some unique experience and and and better than guys to to win games and and yeah, I mean, there's a lot of stuff that I that I was that I would like to say but not stay like that. You feel the follow-up do you feel like you're too much of a rewind on data?

To watch the game. You watch the game. You watch the game. I mean, that's the thing I cannot make decisions. I cannot take that from granted. I just nothing that I can control is my part of the my part of the game. You watch the fucking game. Yeah, you stupid bud. You fucking asshole. You imagine Craig. You're a little famous. Are you the ramen guy huh? You're a dickhead huh? You're a funny guy. Interesting. Jared, can you play the other Wilson too? You tweeted nine of them which one? The one that says he didn't want to give an honest answer about what changed down the stretch. I think crochet talked about the Yankees. He may be the only one that referenced that. Did say he's 100% healthy which is very nice. It's like I just feel like fucking shit. I love him. Especially during the hot stretch.

I found so many fitting parts in the lineup. Especially so many fitting parts. The parts fit together very well for a longer time. Yeah. What do you think happened down the stretch? That's a good question. I'm not an answer because I'm not an answer. But we got a limit here. That's a good question. Fuck that though. We didn't produce. We didn't execute any part of the game and that's what we lose. I mean, I know that we had a really good stretch. I'm really proud of what we did in the past like I said. We were able to do the season around for sure 100%. But that's not enough. It's not enough. And at the end of the day, you win games in the road. You're able to clean the playoff. But then I'm feeling sure in the playoff, it's stuff. What do you think of the season? So well, what's the thought on the team when he left for the 15th?

He zipped his muscles. Yeah. Yeah. Which is just stuff like that. We can't improve the opponent. But I'm opening there next year. You watch the games idiot? I have tried to kitty when he jumped out. Stupid fucking morons. Yeah. Follow up. Kiteo wasn't in anyone jump him in that line. I'll tip my cap. But even though she's going to get for a long time, he's got a jump in there. Just from a leadership standpoint. What's the game's dumbass? Yeah. The dumbest person I've ever seen, maybe. Did you even spell the baseball stupid? I do feel like if he was going to snap and start choking someone, it would be Kiteo. If I'm just honest, that's like very... Why are you such a big dickhead? For Wilson, that was very par for the course. None of that to me was crazy. That's kind of what I expect him to say.

It's just to me, I like the energy that Wilson can bring. I think a wild card can be a dangerous, but a great thing. I don't know if he's the adult voice I want, leading the team. No, at least from the position player side. You fucking stupid. Yeah. Figuring out who that is going to be. The dumbest I've ever seen in clubhouse. We were just saying that all year. We're going to say like, all right. So last year, we were like, this team needs an adult in the room and they ended up getting Alex Breggman. That's great. Okay, so then Alex Breggman is not here. So who's the adult voice in the room? It's the two most psychotic dudes in the league. It's fucking Wilson Contreras and Jared Durand are the vocal leaders of the team who hate each other. Yeah, even they don't get along or whatever. And yeah, so I don't know who that guy is going to be. I don't know who, and it's hard, right? Like it's hard to just be like, all right. So someone who's in year one of their Red Sox 10 year is going to come in here and you're going to be the leader of this group.

A group that's been to the playoffs two years in a row and now you're going to be their leader. You know, at a certain point, the guys that have been here are going to be like, why not promote from within? It's like, well, because none of you can be that guy. Well, and that's again, where it's so self-inflicted and we can talk about his play on the field, at least it's been on the fucking field. Like I do view letting Xander go. I'm not saying he should have matched, I've never said you should have matched with the Padres offer and he never should have hit free agency in the first place. Like he had been through every run international, single low A, high A, double A, triple A, World Series champion as a rookie, World Series champion on the most dominant team of the 21st century for all baseball, not just the fucking Red Sox. You let him just walk out the door and you never really replaced him with anyone who's lasted at any length. Like you story kind of tried to step up into it, but he's never on the field. You know what I mean? Like he tried to. He tries, huh? Justin Turner was like that guy for a year. And like he was like classic veteran

who his legs fell off in the middle of the season. You know what I mean? So it's just like, I do believe that needs to be someone who came through all the levels, had some skin in the game. Like the way they elevated him throughout the system and had him join that team, like genuine perfection. You cannot bring up a prospect better than that. Half him integrated better than that. And then they fucked up a little bit when they had him playing like third base instead of shortstop that next year and 14 and 15. But like they did do everything else right. He he all wasn't just thrust on him and 15 and say, like you had other guys come up and join him and he was able to show them the ropes, probably get them suits and shit like that. And now I just see like the Padres are having like their best four year run ever. Is he like dominating while doing it? No, of course not. Is he definitely helping guys on that team? I've no doubt my fucking mind. He is like no doubt in my mind. And he'd never like if he had lost to the Akees last year, which I've tremendous doubts

that would have ever happened because he never lost the Akees in a big game. Like this year, there would have been so much better prepared. And they just do not have anyone like that. They don't have that voice. They don't have like, it's such a miscalculation. Like I'm starting to view that letting him walk is worse than trading mookie. Like I really am. Like I just for the culture part of it. And it's I'm not here to agree completely with Wilson because I try not to agree with sociopaths on all everything all the time. But like there is an intangible to the game that can't be quantified and like having like your franchise leader, it's shortstop for the whole fucking history of the Red Sox. Just walk out the door. Don't bang. They're downstairs and they're sleeping. They're gonna get mad at me. I do. It's just it's inexplicable. It's so self-inflicted and inexplicable. inexplicable. Yeah, like we were talking about this on stream today. But like it shit all over me. You're like sucks. I hate him. I hate you. I love talking ball with you, because I know I can say like my opinion

and like you don't give a fuck not in a way or like I don't you don't not value what I say, but like you're gonna feel the way you do and I can say the way I feel. Like I view that with the Kyle Schwarber situation. That's the I feel the same topic. Like the same agreement. I just kind of draw the line with him because one of the hard things is there's no one. There's no connective tissue to those years anymore. And like Devers was the closest. But we know he wasn't acting in that way. He wasn't able to conduct himself in that way. And obviously you can't go clone someone or find a way to find those guys and bring him to modern day. So like what can you do? Kyle Schwarber is one of those tone setters and he seemingly fit that role down the stretch in 21. It's easy when you have other veterans there that. Xander was there. Yeah. Xander that you could connect with. So maybe you'd be a little different. But we've seen how he's established what the fillies have had. And that group and you know, right now is it what it was a couple of years ago, but he's always been viewed as that culture guy. I looked at Schwarber that way. And while I like Trevor's story as a guy, I think we all know the final year of this contract. Do we even expect him to make it to the end of the year?

It seems pretty hard to see because Franklin Arius is going to be kicking down the door. But that's another young, young dude who's going to be walking into that clubhouse who needs someone to put an arm around him. And I have a hard time even though Trevor's story is a nice guy. You think he's going to love sitting there and coaching up the dude who's trying to take his job by May 1st? And with the pick who knows, maybe the Red Sox get more aggressive. I don't know. But like finding that kind of adult in the room that can get that position player group. Seemingly on the same page and finding just that top 10-ish offense that can exist through a whole 162 season. These big ups and downs stop and you become a consistent baseball team. That's what I want. I don't want any more roller coasters. I don't want this year again. It was cool one time. Give me a team that can come out the gate strong and maintain a strong performance and carry momentum through a season. I said, I always feel like you're either at the top of the mountain or the bottom. I hate the fucking hot and cold socks. And it feels like it's been years of that.

Having uncontrolled eels in a philic esophageitis or EOE can mean you're stuck in many ways, like cutting your food into tiny pieces. Or stuck chewing food for a long time. What's that? I mean, I just, I, kind of echoing what Koli was saying earlier. Of course, the summer was fun. But overall, did I have a good time this year? No. Like the first three months sucked and it ended on a shit note. And now I'm not just talking about the playoffs. Like September sucked. It was not fun. It was boring. Yeah, it was 32 and 5. You played 162 games plus two playoff games to really just enjoy 37 of them. I'm kidding. I'm not saying it was a waste of time, but like, I can't look back on, like I will not look back on 2026 fondly. I'll be like, that was a, a, a shit year disguised by a good five weeks. It was a group that was like, walking on egg shells and, yeah, just fucking, I guess, good ridden.

You know, like I'm good. It was a five month and a half. You had a five month and a half, four and a half months was an absolute grind. That's, that's the 26 socks. Yeah. And they were so bad to, like, we undersell how bad they were before the 32 and 5. Like, see, I'm glad you brought up. I had forgotten about the down two thing. Those games were over and they were over immediately. First inning. Immediately, there was no fight. There was no reason to believe the 32 and 5 was going because they showed no signs of fight. They weren't getting their doors blown off, but they were just losing immediately in those games. It was as bad as it's ever been to start the year. And the 32 and 5 was awesome. Definitely awesome. It may be, again, not awesome long-term based off of some of the accident. I mean, the brazilian thing, I find that it, I'm finding it more and more interesting that they picked up those options months ago and waited to announce them when they did. Like, well, my question is, and Rob Bradford said this to someone

that he heard that it was before the deadline. Part of it was a giving Craig Brazlou like the confidence to make the Adley move. Like, hey, we're putting the battery in your backpack, bro. Like, we believe in you. Make that deal. Go get it done. You're not about to get canned. You're not about to get fired. Like, you can act boldly. I don't know how much that impacted it. And I think even the, like, outlook of the deadline will be fascinating as we go over the course of the offseason with the Adley talks. I'm curious what happens to the coaching staff. Like, Chad Tracy is going to get to organize this in the way he wants. What does the hitting staff look like? You can't blame Pete Fatsy. Can't blame Alex Kour. You had another real down that last month. Are you going to find a hitting strategy that works? Are you going to find something that works for everyone? I don't know. You know, like, the pitching side has been locked in. They don't fucking touch that shit. Right. Yeah. They don't have much to do there.

No. So, like, you need to figure out what the future is. In a non-Pete Fatsy world. And for people who think like Kyle Bodys out of the org and they're not doing driveline, everything they're doing, they are driveline based. That is how they operate. Those are the philosophies they believe in. I think John, the annoying part about this season will be that the fans who accurately were pissed about the way that the season started got the, I told you so, people for the 32 and 5. And it's like, they were right. Like, they were right. Like, the team wasn't as good as, they were not as good as the 32 and 5. They just weren't. The vast majority of the season was incredibly disappointing. The vast majority. And that's not to say that they suck or that they didn't belong in the postseason. The record is the record.

If you get in, then of course, you deserve to be there. They didn't rob another team that deserve to be there of their spot. Like, they were the second wall card. They weren't the third. They didn't sneak in. They did what was necessary. It was like they did their summer reading the day before they had to go back to class. Like, it's like they crammed it all in and they did it. Congratulations for doing it. But the vast majority of this season was a huge disappointment. And I don't know how you, good luck to, to Brezlo on trying to make sure that that doesn't happen. That's a big one. We've given him a lot of credit for how he's handled the media. He's going to get asked directly about these comments. And, you know, just the typical off-season shit at the end of the year, presser. Sneaky big moment. Yeah, I forgot about that. When is that see? You know, probably Friday. Yeah, it's usually a Friday thing. The, the analysis tomorrow. Yeah. He's going to have to have these exit interviews.

All right. You can do some final thoughts, but, Koli, just, I don't have the, I don't have the bedoot, dude, dude. If you want to, if you want to fire that off at the end, I have that ready to go. Should be on page three. The first, the first green page. Go to page three and your sound effects. You'll find, you'll do. No, they're all green. They're all green, page two. No, no. The BID, the BID is blue. The section 10 is green. Page one, green. Page two, green. Page three, green. Page four, blue. Yeah, no doubt, but you said the first green page, the third one. That's wrong. I believe it's the first page of green. No. I played it earlier by accident on the fuck to go. Page one. I just like to page one, I wasn't there. You just do a little run down of all the sound effects. Well, we're here. Jared Cravris. Fuck.

Should be under Bidu, Dup, Dup, Dup. That really isn't, I'm looking at, there's nothing on the page. I'm on bank one, unless it's on the before that. Is it, it should be under positivity. Under positivity. That's positivity. It's called dirty water. It's not called Bidu, Dup, Dup. It's called dirty water. There we go. Yeah. That's the name of the song. That's like the, we're basically around the two year anniversary of Bidu, Dup, Dup, Dup. It was because it could stay the last game. So you got to find out for the final time. See? See? Final thought. Nothing prospect wise at the top of my brain. I just want to shout out everyone who came to Calune. It was so cool getting a chance to talk during the event, after the event. Abby, Tammy bringing awesome stuff as usual.

I know Yankee's Twitter was getting after her, but she's such an awesome part of this community. Always brings it to every section 10 or 10 events. She's the best. I hope she knows and I hope the fan base knows. How awesome she is because she brings the right energy that we want when support in the Red Sox and talking balls. So shout out to them and shout out to everyone else who showed up. Because even though it wasn't our night, being in those spots, they recharged me in a way that I can't quite put my finger on, because I usually hate social interaction. That shit to me, sign me up every single time. You hate social interaction. Yeah, what? Yeah, I'm not like a social person. Like I'm a hermit. What? Yeah, you definitely. Oh, yeah, I definitely scream loving social interaction. Tea, you don't shut the fuck up. Anytime more in public, you're talking like what you're the most social interaction person that I've ever met. The reason why I'm like that is because I'm just genuinely uncomfortable all the time. So I just talk. I just I don't know and I don't want anyone else to ever feel

like unwanted or like not like. Oh, like you've gone unwanted. No, but like, you know, sometimes if you feel uncomfortable or like you don't fit in. Like if you don't get a jet or a party. You just want to make everyone feel like, oh, like part of the crew and we're all hanging out. Bobby Dolvin. Bobby Dolvin. Bobby Dolvin. No. Yeah, it's not him. Bobby back. Get it on loop, not my fault. Michael Jackson just being like, and you know I hate dancing. You know that. Hey, dancing, hate singing. Yeah. I hate public social interaction. Let me tell everybody this big secret about Jaren Durant hating my fucking guts. And I hope you're sitting down because it's going to be long. And great detail. It all began. Is that when the fellas really lost their Mosha? Yeah, we'll figure that out.

No, yeah, yeah. That was all star break. No, we had a there was a run after that. Wasn't the all star break? Yeah. I don't think it was way more recent. Yeah. I think it was like, it was the night after, it was like the Thursday night after, all star. Exactly. I feel like the run ended when the A's took two out of three. Yeah, I remember we felt a little bit. When the shattered meets hand. So yeah, no, no, no, no, that was a different one. Oh, I had fun way. Okay. It was right after the all star. Or the trade deadline. Yeah. Yeah, there was still some juice because I remember they were like down four in the ninth and bases were loaded for Eli White. And everyone was like classic Grand Slam. That's common right there. I mean, that was the end of 32 and five was August 7th. The first game where totally had his career high with 14 Ks at Friday night. It was really downhill from there.

Yeah. Stephen, you know, I'm not section 10 merge.com for the best merch on the planet patreon.com slash section 10 podcast for the best bonus content on the planet. We are going to have a lot of that this off season. Appreciate everybody that's been following along on the patreon this season. That's been a cool new wrinkle we get to do an independent land and shout out to all you guys to on this program. Shout out to Mikey with clean 40. That was really fun to do this season. We're doing it a lot in the off season. The Roman injury I just I really feel for a man. I do feel for Roman. This is like a nightmare. He can't wake up from that's kind of what it feels like. I mean, seeing him in the media availability. The kids defeated. He is really, really defeated and he's going to probably be getting cooked all off season. That's the killer with these where this is now your your last taste you get here. This is the last impression you get now you get to have a bunch of. What's up? He's not going to have a chance to redeem himself for a long time. Yeah, exactly. It's just like, all right, we'll right back to where we were when he was hurt and everyone was

starting to just get after him and make it worse as it went along. The long he didn't see him. It's like, what about those? What about that? He was just getting killed. So it's unfortunate he has to go through that again. He had just a kind of a weird comeback for being honest. Like those first five games he was filthy. Then there was that stretch where I'm like, this doesn't look like the guy. Very similar to how this Yankee series went where it's like physically the guy is in the box, but he doesn't have the skills. I don't know what's going on with him. And for him to say that he wasn't 100% and kind of playing through it and all that, like you give him credit, but at the same time, it's like, okay, you knew he was right on the corner of being able to maybe make that a lot worse. And that Tampa swing, the second it happened, I'm like, no, tell me that's not something. Because it looked very similar to what happened last year, what in early September when he got hurt. So hoping that he's all right. You know, he still can be one of the best players in the team, but I echo what you guys say. And with this situation, the socks can't just assume he's going to be one of the best players in the team. You can't just pencil that in now. That's the reality of the situation. He had five homers this year. He missed 108 red socks games this year.

So who knows who knows how that goes. But in closing, yeah, shout out to all the section 10 listeners, roller coaster overseas. But you guys are with us every step of the way. Loyal ask group of people. My favorite thing will always be bumping into 10 people with Fenway at Volpin at Game On. Just kind of shooting the shit and talking about bits. And this kid came up and referenced the Thanksgiving eve episode from 10 years ago the other day. And I was like, that's awesome. Man, I appreciate you bringing that up. Because stuff like that is what really keeps us going. And I don't know if you guys truly know the impact you have on the four of us and everybody behind the scenes. So very much appreciate all the support from everyone who listens to the show. And once again, got a lot coming for you in the office season. Wait. Thank you. Oh, no, yeah. The whole time. The whole time. The whole time. The second I started, he's like, I got so no right now. Steve, you actually inspired this thought. Roman Anthony saying he always was feeling some level of pain.

Chad Tracy said in like July when he had like that last setback before everything started clicking that he was not going to swing about until he was completely pain free. That wasn't the case. I just want to understand what happened. Where did you get there? What made you change it? Because it feels like you went back to where you originally started. Where was let's figure out you away for you to swing without too much pain, where you can tolerate it. And he was apparently dealing with like little bits of pain. They call them zingers throughout September. So like you factor that into the version we saw. Hard G. What was it? Zingers, right? That's why I said. Yeah. Yeah. The sound wearer. Sorry. No, it's good. Yeah. Yeah. It's two, 15 or whatever. I just want I just want them to talk about that. I hope they get pressed on that at the end of the year. Presser. Wonger. Eat a better backup coach or two? There's only one game to win. Yeah. Three out of four. Yeah. The only game three.

Yeah. That's a hell of a series. You got a time, Jared? Eight. Oh, eight. What gate pay? The McMahon? It's just demoralizing. So much of my life has just been beating down this team. And so much. The last few years has just been like, all right, fired Don Browski. We're pivoting to these prospects. Here they come. They're beautiful. They're raking. Christian Campbell, unbelievable first month. Tweaks is back. Haven't seen them since Roman Anthony. Here he comes. And I'm one prospect in baseball comes up. Tremendous. So good. Tweaks is back. Comes back next year. Let's see how he looks. World baseball classic best player on the team. Maybe starts the season. Can't hit anything. Only home run comes off the bench. Gets hurt. Fucks up his wrist. Should only be a little minimum stay.

Turn to the longest day ever. Comes back. It's a mammoth home run. Was it his first at batten AA? Here he comes. Doesn't come. And it's it's it's just so goddamn frustrating to spend as much time as they do, as much time as we do investing into this for seemingly no payoff. I know it's not like it's not they need to win the World Series every year. It's never that. But it's just not the Boston Red Sucks. It's not what we signed up for. We're I feel like living up to our part of the bargain feels like the people in charge over there do not and have not since it seemed like they figured out baseball in 2018. And I don't know why that needed to be the end of it. Everything everyone said about last home playoff game. Just having one first place having it for a day could be the first day of the season. Good to you could just be as simple as you want to know. They don't do it. They can't do it. It doesn't seem like they want to do it.

And until something drastic happens in terms of player acquisition and really feeling like now they're going for it. It doesn't feel like there's any reason. I believe it's going to come again. And I know it's super defeatist. But we've lost three fucking or four games in a row to the Yankees over the last two years. Where it really hasn't felt super competitive. If it'll last three of them at least. You've built an A L central team. And I saw people saying like, oh, 1617 where you got smoked in those playoffs too. And if I remember correctly, you won the division both of those years. It wasn't wild card nonsense. You won the division in 16. You won the division in 17. That is not the same as being a wild card team. Not the top wild card team, just a wild card team. You should, that's a bare fucking minimum. This is being one of the top six teams in the American League. I'm not super impressed by just showing up and coming in fifth.

So yeah, I just want to see a level of care that the people who are sitting at home give, that we see every time we do live shows, that we see every time we do live streams and people are in there for the whole time we're on. Because that's all people want. People just want a chance. And it doesn't feel like they have one right now. Yeah, I was also thinking about, obviously this team has deviated from their typical spending habits and team building methods. And I was like, you know, I saw Brock Holt come back to his cell in his beer. They have it in the bars around Fenway. And I was just like, over the last, like since 2021, like the last time that they played a home playoff game, how many players from those teams could come back after leaving that anyone would give a fucking?

How many players could come back? How many players would want to come back because a piece of their identity belongs to the Red Sox? It's just it's weird. It's just been this, you know, yeah, they're here. Okay, but like do we have like an emotional attachment to anyone really? No, not really. Yeah, it's unfortunate. I'm with Kohli. They need to get back to being the boss in Red Sox. I do have a final thought, but I do want to share this final thought with you all. Special final thought. Woosh, it's that awkward time of the year. I'm talking weather here, folks. I know that's usually Steve's job. I'm taking control of that for right now because when certain weather is happening, you need certain clothes to match. And we're entering that fall season, but we're at that part where summer is still holding on

for dear life. So you wake up in the morning. It's a little chilly middle of the day blistering hot end of the day back to chilly. How do you dress for that? It's impossible or was impossible until our pals over at Mac Weldon crafted the ace collection because boy oh boy, is this stuff comfortable shop looking? But most importantly, at least for this time of the year, it breathes. It doesn't it'll keep you warm when it's warm. It'll keep you cool. Excuse me, it'll keep you warm when it's cool. It'll keep you cool when it's a little bit warmer throughout the day. You don't have to go put on a big jacket in the morning, take it off in the middle of the day because you're sweating, put that big heavy jacket on back at the end of the day. No, no, no, that's nonsense. Other woke nonsense, Mac Weldon and I won't stand for it. Mac Weldon balances classic pieces with updated details to keep you looking. Shop, not flashy, just classic always in style. Made from the world's most comfortable performance materials, easy to style and

versatile looks that you don't have to think about. Mac Weldon is effortless by design, crazy comfortable, but elevated, sweatpants shorts, sweatshirts and even blazers if you're lucky enough to grab one while they're in stock that is. And again, that ace collection modeled after Ace, Jerry's dog. People don't know that. So you really get to listen to this program to know the history behind the history there. But yeah, they've got they've got blazers that look like a blazer, but feel like a sweatshirt. I know me and me and John Cruck, we put that blazer on and boy, do we not feel comfortable? That's macykweldon.com code section 10. Yeah, Koli. I'm glad you asked because Ace is really picky when it comes to eating. I know that you've you've witnessed this now having moved into my house after I fired you and you're homeless. You had to move in and now you see Ace's eating habits up close. Oh, yeah. Very picky, very frustrating when it comes to meal time, but is a year and a half old, super picky. We've tried different foods with him and if he's not feeling it, he'll let you know. He will absolutely let you know. But Sundays for dogs has been a total home run with Ace. He eats it every single day twice a day and he legitimately loves it. Sundays is made with human grade ingredients, including real meat, organs, and superfoods with zero synthetic ingredients or artificial preservatives. And I love how easy it is. It's air-dried, so there's no refrigeration, fine, or meal prep.

I literally just pour it into Ace's bowl and we are good to go. Sundays was also founded by veterinarian Dr. Tory Waxman, who created it after she and her husband couldn't find a dog food that was both healthy and easy. So if your dog is anything like Ace, give Sundays a shot, go to sundaysfordogs.com, slash section 10, or use the promo code section 10 for 30% off your first order. Now back to this God forsaken podcast from Will. I love it. Hey, oh. Well, fellas, here we are once again, my least favorite voice submission of the entire season. You know, one of these years, we are going to be on duck boats together and it's going to be glorious, but it is so tough once again to sit here at Yankee Stadium and see the season come

to a close two years in a row. You make the playoffs and you don't get a game at Fenway Park. I'm not here to talk specifics, talk details, talk moments. All I'm here to do is to kind of mourn with you guys. And with all the people that listen to our games on the radio and listen to your great podcast and to kind of feel like we're at a funeral together because that to me is what it feels like. And I do want to thank all you guys for caring so much about the Red Sox. I want to thank the section 10 listeners who so often come to me in ball parks and tell me how much they enjoy all the things we do together. But I also just want to say that it means so much to me to be able to talk to people on the radio every single night to tell the story of the Red Sox. And it does break my heart when the season comes to a close. It does. I mean, it is such an enormous

part of my life and what I love about being a part of this community. And every single year, it hits you like this where it's like a freight train coming down the tracks. You give so much of yourself to a thing, a group of people, a community of listeners and fans. And by the way, before I go any further, I do think that I know that Chad Tracy is going to be asking and answering questions about choices he made and pictures here, pictures there. I want to thank Chad Tracy for making this summer so special. And his coaching staff and his players made this a wild fun ride for us. And I know that he hates that it ended this way. I sure as hell do. I don't know what else to say other than I'm hoping that in the future, we don't feel this level

of pain over and over again, where it's just you don't get the payoff that you think a season and that a group of players and coaches deserve. I want to thank Will and Lou and Lenny and Coup and Mike and all of you guys, you know, Jared, Cole, Tyler, Steve, Jose. It's a joy to be a part of this thing that we all share together. It really is. And what's just so wild is that we all invest so much into it and then it ends. I love all you guys. I love doing these games for our fans. I cannot wait to get it started again whenever baseball figures it's act out. Thanks for having me on. Thanks for making me a part of your community. Man on live. Fucking a we'll see you guys in Fort Myers. That is Will motherfucking Fleming. Another great year from Will shout out to the whole

catch up panel. That is even Cateo's first year shout out Cateo. Even shout out him. OB, Jemay, Paladin, his first year, Lenny, his first year, middle Brooks, the catch up crew, you guys on Patreon, Loomer, Will Fleming and even Dan Prolt. Yeah. Jose. Especially Dan Prolt. The most recent tiebreaker. Yeah. Jose. Yeah. I sneak one in real quick, Jerry. Just kind of piggybacking off of what Will said. Shout out to you three guys. Shout out to you fellas. I mean, this has been a roller coaster. It's been a wild year, especially you, Jerry. I think it's we had no idea we're going to be able to pull this off. We had no fucking clue. We're going to be able to do this. So to even get to this point, I'm very thankful. And you know, that wraps season 10 of the 10 seasons of this program. And yeah, it's just I always feel lucky, honored that that I get to do this, that we get to do this,

that even if the series sucked, it's like we get to yuck it up with our fellas, with our buddies and do something that people care about. And you can hear it in Will's voice too. How much he cares and just like how much this all matters to him. So it's just really cool, man. It's really cool we get to do this. And I'm thankful that get to do with my boys. Thank you, Steven. Well said, uh, it's been a it's been a fucking holacious year. Like it's just like, it's been the worst year of my life. But this has been the one good thing is is what we've accomplished as a as a team on the BID side on the section 10 side. And obviously it's been a lot of hours from the people that are on camera in front of a microphone. It's been even more hours for the people that are living a double life that are, um, not just I mean someone like Jose who's sitting in on the podcast,

but then also producing editing after, you know, we're we're signed off and it's a fucktown hours for him. Two K another phenomenal season of just being a a master of what he does editing the videos, Mikey, like again, like talking about like living the double life. Like he's, he's editing videos, but he's doing logistics and he's doing this. He has his hands and everything. Uh, Corey, he's fatar, he's he's got the graphics like late at night. It's like we finished a show at 2am. Here's your graphic like he's, you know, he behind the scene. I know that it's a different show, but he's very instrumental with the family feuds. Um, yeah, it's we and then Steve, I, mom, I'm not going to say POTY, but like Steve had a career year this year. Steve had a career year this year. Uh, it was his first year of, uh, not being a dickhead. Um,

hey, but tell me multiple jobs. Is that what that mean? Steve Steve had a had a career year where I think, you know, when, just for example, like when we went to the Bronx and him and Mikey, I don't even have to say anything like they just have a system down like they're fucking coordinating with each other and they don't miss a pitch like they're, if something happens during a game, they're going to get it. And um, yeah, it's, it's a, it's a, it's a great feeling to know that, um, I don't have to say shit. You just know what needs to get done and it always gets done. 24, 7 around the clock. I know it's a lot of late nights for you because, you know, you're, you're staying up and going down with the ship every night, which is always appreciated. And then T man T big time T T mother fucker year of full time T

and we yeah. And this guy, biggie, I got a bad guy. This guy gets, uh, resuming his duties with section 10, but then also joining BID, which is three episodes a week and then doing social for selfishly his own Twitter account, but then also killing it on the BID socials. It's incredible. You don't, you don't stop, you don't stop T. You're, uh, it's, it's a big MVP season for you. T you're an animal, you're an animal brother. The, the, our whole social presence is not uh, close to what it is without the hours you put in the endless hours endless hours. You guys have all helped me get to this point and given me the opportunities and boosted me up when I needed it because there have been plenty of times when I hit that wall and whether it's been through talking, this is a feel confident or learning lessons, you guys are there every single time. And you guys are my big brothers and I really couldn't ask for better people to kind of navigate

this part of my life because genuinely I was lost in a lot of ways before I found you guys and I'm thankful to be with you all and I want to keep going with all of y'all. Well, unfortunately, uh, I'm going to let it go. I'm going to let it go. I'm going to let it go. I'm going to let it go. I'm going to let it go. I'm going to let it go. Fortunately, this is Tyler's last show. He doesn't know that. Started podcasting with T in 2022 and always wondered what it would look like if he was able to be all in on just this and it was well, uh, past whatever I thought it could be. I haven't even mentioned the blog like he fucking he writes for the Patreon blog. He's doing the bonus episodes. He's doing both shows every podcast. He's fucking driving from where him to be at Fenway career high in Fenway appearances this year with 11. He's down 55 pounds. Yep, we hit 55 on five pounds. He could still be 60 60 this year in that club. So it could be 60 60. I think T had himself in his first full season of very, uh, MVP season and it shouldn't

surprise me. It doesn't surprise me. But again, you have exceeded all expectations in terms of what you've been able to take on. And it's, uh, it's fucking awesome to see. Cole has been fired. Obviously, Steve. Yeah, Cole has been kidding. No, real quick. Sean, shout out to Sean. Graphics massive help, massive, massive help, uh, work with them. Obviously a lot. Ankory, uh, with the graphics and these guys are at the top of their class and the, uh, the response time is always great. The turnaround time is always great. And that's the kind of stuff that just makes our pages pop and it makes a huge difference. Ankory with the picks to obviously, uh, rusey. Shout out to rusey. Shout out to rusey. Hell of a year for rusey. Um, you never know what rusey's going to say. That's the beauty of rusey. That's kind of what drew us to rusey. So a few year for, uh, I'm sure unfortunately, Cam was probably thinking about her in game one. Uh, shout out to Leah, our intern Leah, uh, who was working her tail off. What's up? She came out twice this year.

She did. She did. Yes, she was there at, uh, at section 10 night and then in count of noon and really always put, you know, a ton of effort into everything she was doing, helping with the TikTok, helping with behind the scene stuff, writing out scripts for the video she did. That stuff's awesome. And we'd help out at these live events too. The pizza. Shout out to the pizza man. I mean, they, they bust their ass. We're going on the clips. Going crazy during the playoffs right now. And then yeah, obviously all of our sponsors too. You guys are the goats. Yep. Yep. Big shout out to the pizza. That was, I've been dreaming of the day that we had a team of people that would able to, to cut clips for us. And, um, we have, and all start team for everything for, for the pods for, um, production for social for clip cutting. We've got it all. So thank everyone, everyone for their contributions. There's more where that came from.

We're obviously going to continue doing the streams for the postseason. And, um, we'll figure out a cadence. What are we to Steven? Back to your Kully thing because I cut off the Kully thing. So, I said, he's fired. Oh, right. Okay. Can't. But yeah, obviously the McMahon being able to do three hour episodes of section 10, three hours of mixed tape and have three children, small children, the three, three, three club, the three, three club where it's sleep is not an option and still being able to maintain the life and, and the family man not interrupted and still providing a shit ton of content for all the people that have been following him for years and years and years and years. And, uh, it's not, it's not easy. I don't even have kids of my own. So I don't know how that came and take care of myself. It's very impressive. Yeah. Like, the work life balance on top of the hours and hours and hours of content.

And, uh, and I can also speak to it. Fucking not missing a beat while moving. Very difficult. Very difficult to, uh, continue a full-time content schedule while moving. And I just moved a few towns over. He moved to another fucking state, uh, several hours away. So shout out to Cole. It was, uh, not, I'm sure could not have been an easy year. Can't just simply could not have been an easy year. So he's here the last year. Fair. Yo, yeah, true. Yeah, that is true. I was actually fired that last year. Yeah. Yeah. Much tougher. Yeah, much tougher to be really fired. Yeah. And then, uh, fired on Reddit. Yeah. Yeah, we joined you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah. Thank you to everyone for all the support. It's, um, going independent. We heavily depend on our community for, uh, obviously when the red socks suck to still

fucking listen, you know, like, or we, we try to be as entertaining as possible, even when the team isn't. So thank you for this. Cord, dude, the game chat, that live game chat was, yeah, a lot of skiva. Everybody that was in there just, you know, uh, noticing the same profile pictures. I'm like, you guys are great. Dylan in there. Um, a really good group that would kind of keep you sane. You'd see something I'm like, this is insane. I don't really want to tweet it. I want to head over to the discord and talk with, uh, what the hell is over there. You can just write off your thoughts in real time and you're not really held accountable for them. Yeah. They just kind of disinpeared. It's nice. Yeah. So shout out to everyone who subscribed. He killed it all. He killed it all. Yeah. Yeah. I guess, sure. Yeah. Some of them do make it to the other side. Uh, but yeah, shout out to everyone who subscribes to our Patreon this year. It's a big part of how we were able to get off the ground. And, um, someday, someday, I will tell the whole story of how, how this happened and how we got here and, uh, I didn't know what to do. Oh, it's a lot of glue is low.

Hopefully, hopefully it's, uh, it's an even bigger success story than what you know, I think it is. I'm going to get a picture of my character. Wow. He just, uh, he tossed himself. Okay. Yeah. It's still not a main suspension. Oh, that was real. It's been suspended. Massage usage and Florida and I thought that was it. That's it. Yeah. He's got two in the year now. But he's really building up a streak here. This is two episodes in a row of them, obviously. A little bit of a naughty boy recently. Yeah, you're being a little bad. Gold. Yeah. No, I didn't get to spend the last episode. It was the episode before. Okay. Two for three. There we go. Good damage. Yeah. That's not exactly pressing the bottom right. Yeah, Shadow Days. Shadow Nicole. Shadow Pan. No, no, no. Tracey Nicole. Yeah. NASA. Livey. Livey. VJ. JP. JP. J.

J.A. The boy. In the call. Of course. Brin. Shout out. Shadow Clare. Clare. Great to see Clare. Clare came to the live show by herself, which I know is, uh, is not an easy thing to do. And every time that she comes to one of the events, she does like custom nails. And she, she tweeted them out. She left a look at them yourself. But I requested a Caldune nail and she made one. She fucking nailed it. So I love Clare. I literally, I also, what the game was like getting out of hand. I just like jumped off stage and like went into the crowd and like sat with Clare. Yeah. Well, that's the best part about these events because we can genuinely just go out there and just hang out and like have our conversations. Keith, who is it? All the events where I was talking anime baseball. I know. I don't know if you ever return his text. I know. I do sometimes. I'm not the best. All the time. I really say that. But he shows, he'll scroll. I'll be like, all right. I responded like one of the last three or four.

Yeah. But always at every event, always talking ball and like, real-ass conversations. And it's not just about baseball. It could be about the weight loss. He's going to help me a little bit with adding muscle and bulking up. But shout out Keith, he's awesome. I don't know about that. All right. When will we be back, Steven? I don't know. We'll figure that out. But we got obviously, and it's more credit to you guys. I'll be doing more behind the scene stuff with Bid. But you guys are going to be streaming every single day and pod in every single day. Yeah. So a lot of coverage coming up because October is now just beginning and the Red Sox are like, we're at a, yeah. We ain't knowing it. Cancun. You said the weather's bad in Cancun, Jerry. It's been, yeah, it's going to rain every day. That is tough. Three to one cancun. You're going into a monsoon again. Not ideal. All right. Someone's echoing. It's definitely Steve.

I don't think so. You just don't blame the two people in the same room. Yeah. It's 100% y'all, but it's all good in the same room. mute Steve. Test test. All right. It's calling loudest echo I've ever heard about. Well, I'm doing it the whole time. I figured it out. All right. Thank you guys. Give me sogy. For watching. Thank you guys for listening. Thank you guys for supporting. It's been a hell of a year, at least, at least for section 10, at least for section 10. Maybe not the Red Sox, but for the 10, 10 seasons. Thank you guys. You're the best. And we'll see you on the next one. Badoo. Badoo. When a snow chase, amigos.
