How to Revitalize a Church: An Interview with Jon Benzinger

What does it take to revitalize a struggling church?

In this episode of the Unashamed Truth Podcast, Grant Castleberry sits down with Jon Benzinger, pastor of Redeemer Bible Church in Gilbert, Arizona, to discuss the biblical convictions that shaped the revitalization of his church.

Jon shares how a declining and unhealthy congregation was strengthened through a renewed commitment to the Word of God, prayer, expository preaching, biblical leadership, and intentional shepherding. He also discusses the importance of training elders, caring for church members, building strong pastoral teams, and remembering that the church belongs to Christ, not to the pastor.

This is a practical and encouraging conversation about trusting God to bring health and renewal to His church through ordinary, faithful ministry.

The conversation explores:
• Church revitalization through the Word and prayer
• The pastor as an under-shepherd of Christ
• Training and investing in elders
• Why expository preaching matters
• Preaching for transformation, not merely information
• and more …

Whether you are a pastor, church leader, or simply someone who loves the local church, this conversation offers practical wisdom for pursuing faithful, biblical ministry.
