Listen live weekday afternoon starting at three on 80 ESPN, the ESPN New York app and your smart speakers. We welcome our audience on MSG network. It's an absolute pleasure to be a part of their family in a different way. Alan and I are already there. I mean with the Devils and you with the Knicks, but to be a part of a talk show for four hours every day. Leading into Devils and Knicks and Rangers and Islanders coverage.

Do you remember the first foray into sports talk on MSG was? Sports doesn't sports desk. Well, you know, Rick and I had a show on it. They took our show on MSG for a while. But this is way before us. I want to say early 2000s. Two people that we know very, very well. One of them you saw during the Sassos off ball. This was it angles? Something like that before that. Yeah. Wasn't on long. Tell me talk of our town. Talk of our town. Bob was shoes in and build archery. Yes. Remember that? Yes. Now, yes, talk of our town. I'm so sorry that I'm. Yeah. Well, listen to this. I do remember there were a lot of shit. What was angles? Wasn't angles like a. Yeah, there would come around to you. And kind of yeah, kind of that different subjects back and forth.

And but just it's an absolute pleasure to be a part of the MSG network. And it's going to be a big, big year for MSG with the Knicks trying to repeat as champions. The Rangers trying to get back into the playoff hunt. You've got the Devils or the Hughes Brothers going to be all together. There's a lot of. The extoppersatio about that. And the islanders trying to get back on track with Pete the Boer. So there's a there's a lot to look forward to and we'll be a part of it every day from three to seven here on the MSG radio network. And if you're consuming us on 880, the SPN app and YouTube will continue doing it there. There you go. Well, MSG radio network. Old habits die hard. Yes, it's got him. No, listen, I mean, I don't know how I close down when I did radio. Every time it was ESPN, New York and the MSG radio network. Exactly network. It's just, but I'm not going to apologize. It's not the only reason. I'm not only would you do it again? You will do it. I'm I'm limited. I accept that. Right. I've been able again every every time I speak on the air. It's a completed hell. Yeah, it's a complete miracle. You know, so if this if this is the the price you got to pay.

And I've got Alan keeping me honest. And I'm sure he'd be doing the same damn thing. Oh, I absolutely. So it's muscle memory. But I just want people to know as they're watching like MSG. Wait, they're on TV too. I don't even know. And radio. MSG has a radio. But judge back. He's going to about third play right field tonight when the gang he's taken on the Rockies. That's been a topic of conversation. And I want to piggyback something that happened on MSG earlier today. Oh, with Rick and Dave show. That's the morning program. And I watched a lot of it. It was really good. There was a there was a moment. I don't know if anybody. It's been talked about. But they had Buster only. Radio information. We played some of a sound there. I'm his great. But he had. I guess this deep blue screen. That he was looking into for his camera. His glasses. And it replaced his eyeball. Yeah. So it kind of looked like he had these piercing blue eye shooting out of his glasses. It was really weird. The car. A lot of anybody's got a picture of it. We repurposed it on social media. But it was it was a nothing.

We're working it out. But that was kind of on Buster. But he does a great job. That. Where the season starts. Jets Titans coming up on Sunday. One o'clock. And unless somebody signs in the next five minutes. Your backup quarterback. DeGino Smith who's 36 years old. That's right. Is going to be club Nick. And people are happy about it. Because he would have been the first round. They could be didn't get hurt. And you know, that he's got a future. And maybe he's going to be the quarterback. And then I can have the draft the quarterback. I'm sure the Jets are happy with it. Because they want to look at him. And I'm sure club Nick's happy about it too. The guy that wouldn't be happy about is Aaron Glenn. Aaron Glenn's got to win some games. Otherwise he's going to get fired. Right. That seems to be the perception. You won three games last year. If you turn around when three games again, you can't survive that. Are you sure? Can we say that definitively? No. I'm a starting to think. That Aaron Glenn's a lot in a lot better placed than people think. And I'm going to tell you why.

Forget about the report that we saw a couple of weeks ago about that they're interested in Tomlin. Glenn's Deadman walking. All the jet fans that want to see Glenn crash and burn get him out of here. He the reason he's the de facto defensive coordinator is is that what he didn't want to pay wink. Mark Dale. What is invest that a lot of money at the facility after getting that f grade last year, right? I don't think what he wants to get involved in paying three more years left on Glenn's contract reportedly. And then go pay big money to another head coach to replace him. I think, and I'm not saying that, you know, Glenn's definitely safe. But I think he's safe for the people think because how is there not a veteran backup quarterback behind a 36 year old Gino Smith who if he completely crashes and burns and he could, that's what happened in Vegas, right? I'm not saying it's going to happen. He might revert back to Seattle and make this completely a move point. But guys, if Gino gets hurt or Gino's ineffective,

then club Nick is going to be the guy that's going to try to save Aaron Glenn's job or is there no job to save? Is Glenn actually safe? Yeah, I think he is. The athletic had a very interesting in depth behind the scene story. That detailed a lot of things about the relationship between Woody Johnson and Aaron Glenn. And one of the things that they pointed out is that Woody Johnson never really liked Robert Salah. They never really kind of were on the same page. Right. Remember, Christopher Johnson's won a higher. Yeah, not Woody. And so Woody just never really was and and Salah really didn't love Woody either. And so there was a lot of not tension, but you could just feel that there was not a lot of connection between the two. And honestly, Woody is a guy that likes to be involved. He wants everybody to talk. He has no there's no hierarchy. He wants it to be collaborative. And he's been hands on.

But with Glenn, he was involved in the interview process to a point where when they when he hired him, the story tells us that Woody Johnson told because Glenn was asking questions about the franchise and why it is where it is. And what he said to him, I've made some mistakes. And I've got to correct it. This thing's I shouldn't be doing. I did things that didn't work and all this stuff. And a year later after Glenn wins three games and looks like he has no idea what he's doing. Glenn sat down with Woody Johnson in the, you know, the exit interviews they do and Woody's done it every year. And Glenn said to Woody, I made mistakes and I need to fix them. So it's almost like a full circle moment that Woody would appreciate because Glenn believed in him when he said, I, you know, it's not going to happen. I'm going to fix it. So Glenn said to him, well, you got to be patient with me. I made mistakes too. Let me fix them.

And he let him change his coaching staff. There were things that the players wanted. The F grade was a big deal. It was personal for Woody. Remember they put out a statement trying to downplay it. But if he really didn't believe it, then why would he have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to upgrade Florian Park the way he is? The whole the whole locker room is like state of the art now. They have built a sports science center. That is like a monster. They have changed the weight room. They've given the play. You know what else they do now? They have a big analytics department. That's Darren Mojius who came in and said, we need that. Moj. They've also done AI now. They use AI when it comes to players and picking players and learning about players and all this stuff. They have some kind of program that they use that is helping them. He's invested so much on that side of things that it's clear he really does. He's desperate to change and wants to win based off of the great he got.

And last year he got to be great. That's a long way from the F. So it feels like the two of them are almost in lockstep. And Woody now is invested in Glenn working and making it work and being successful because it looks like Woody wants to prove I hired him. I was right to hire him. Yeah, because what it does is kind of back up the whole idea that with no competition you gave Aaron Glenn big money. Nobody else was going to sign him to any kind of a deal. And it kind of just doubles down on. Listen, I didn't give it to him because I was desperate. I gave it to him because I love the guy. Yeah, I think he needs an opportunity. And if they do fall on their face, the benefit as much as I hate tanking is is that guess what? You get a pick of the litter or the great quarterbacks come out of college. I guess. And then Aaron Glenn now has a chance with a legitimate quarterback to go out and try to get something done. It just feels to it doesn't feel like there's any desperation. How do you look with the giant's didn't now granted it was a different timeline because they signed Winston and Wilson before they traded to get dark.

But they knew they were going to get a young quarterback. They wanted dark though. Right, they wanted dark. But even if they didn't get dark, they would they would have drafted a young quarterback. And they wanted the insurance of Wilson goes down. I don't want to have that young quarterback play in week one. If he pulls an Aaron Rogers, I've got Winston there to play. And then when Darts ready, he can leapfrog over Winston and take over the job. Jets didn't do that. Now again, they don't have a young quarterback. But what they do have is a quarterback that is the perception to save Aaron Glenn's job. I don't think there's a job to say I feel like Glenn's coming back unless it's an unmitigated desire. Yeah, I don't think or they're just still doing a Jetsie and thing and not handling their business. Crossing their teeth and not in their eyes. I think I've got... But Moog doesn't give me that vibe. Here's where I'm thinking. Geno is that risk you take of, let's see if we can kind of strike gold one more time with a veteran like we've seen around the league. He still has something left in the tank and he gives us a fit's magic kind of season where we're competitive because he's good, right? But do you think also don't invest too much in the quarterback position

because if something happens with Geno, we can play Cade Club Nick. And if it really falls apart because his kids are rookie and his over his head and whatever like that, as Don said, the worst thing that happens is you'll now have a high enough pick to get your quarterback in the future in the draft. And you could apologize a bad season away for Aaron Glenn sing. Well look at it. Well, by the way, there won't be any sort of course correction with Baker Mayfield as the deal is done and Baker Mayfield will stay in Tampa for three years, a hundred million dollars. So that is done. That is official from out of Shephard as of four minutes ago. That's a big deal. That's not bad for anyone. Yeah, for the box, for the box, very good. Baker actually probably thought I would have imagined he could do even slightly better for them to get him at $33 million a year. How much are in the quarterback he's playing? Is that fully? I bet you'd get a hundred guaranteed. I bet you it's close. I know your Baker, a hundred guaranteed is a hundred guaranteed. You don't sneeze at that. That's a great people thought he wanted $50 million. And now he's going to get $33 plus over the next three years.

And because of that division, a very good chance that eight, nine will get him in the play obviously get him a home game. He must have also. You scour, you scour the league to know not many suitors and the options that he would have as a free agent probably weren't going to be appetizing. Hold on, you're saying, you're saying, Shephard added now it's three years at one sixty-five. Well, he quoted himself said compensation updated to three year one hundred and sixty-five million dollar extension as of 52 seconds ago. Oh, how do you do? So he's over 50 million. Yeah, how do you do? Well, by the way, Don, just give Don the credit because Don's like, well, that's a pretty good deal. At $33 million. Well, guess what? It was a good deal because it was 50 million because it was, it was a factual. So, wow. So now, now we don't know what exactly is guaranteed. Maybe the hundreds guaranteed out of the hundred and fifty, which is, which would still be still good. We'll wait on that one. But either way, we had kind of flirted with is there a world in which things don't work out. And we knew it's unlikely because everyone seems to say that Mujee and the Jets want to go with a drafted quarterback. But Baker is one of the, was one of the sexy options out there that you could go to.

Well, he is now gone. Yeah, now you wait in on Lamar Jackson or Joe Burrow or Joe Burrow, which I'm not holding my breath on. That's exactly what that is. Now, Aaron Glendid speak today and he was asked, what would a successful season look like? Successful season. I'm absolutely winning. Winning, I mean, hands down, effort, discipline. But winning it does have to, you have to have some semblance of quality wins. Not like, hey, they stole one late in the year and got the three wins. No, no, he knows it. He's got to put some W's on the board. But no matter how you cut it, I mean, seriously. But the question is, what if something happened to Geno Smith where he's completely ineffective and you go to club deck and he stinks, is that going to fall on Mujee? It's not going to go. It's going to fall. It can't fall on Glenn. It's got to fall on Mujee. And all I'll say is I'm a fan of Mujee like you are. But if Geno Smith falls on his face, well, just the fields didn't work out. Back to back to the states. Geno Smith doesn't work out that hero for two or quarterbacks, buddy.

Now, is that the guy I want drafting the next, you know, franchise quarterback of the jet? Like, there's a lot of them aligning. About fields. Fields was more of a Glenn guy. Glenn wanted fields. But Mujee made the deal. Yeah, but Glenn wanted them. What? Well, then. And apparently Glenn is the guy that talks to free agents. Mujee is the guy that just does the work. Makes it happen. But Glenn's the guy that, you know, like he wanted them. I'll Davis here. He felt like he needed some leadership, right? So he knew tomorrow Davis from down in Orland's. When he was down there, you know, Davis played for the jets. So he knew what he was getting into coming up here. There's a lot of, again, this is collaborative, man. This is not separate. Well, that's what this does. That's really good of that. No, they love that. You know, got to be collaborative. Yeah. That whole deal. Now Mel Kuiper Jr. was on the morning show, which KJ, 6 to 10. You can see it on MSG television. And of course, all our other platforms. He gave his outlook on what Kade Club did can be. Club Nick has talent. It's just like I said, last year, it just did not come together for that Clemson football team.

He was a legitimate, dull threat quarterback. He got a really move. He's a tough kid. So there's some, there's things to work with with Kade Club Nick. So I guess the view of the jet just, okay, if we got to put in what's to see what we have, we have to know what we have by the time we get to April. Because then you're going to go back and get a quarterback. What if you catch like in a bottle of Club Nick? What if he gets a chance to play? And week five, six, seven, and he shows really well. Then you have a decision, mate. Did anybody think Brock Party was going to be Brock Party? Yeah. So to me, the audience said that's what you have to say. And that's kind of the decision, Cleve was going to have to decide when should do it at the end of this year. They're starting with lots and see how that goes. You got to know what these young quarterbacks can do. That they show you any promise that you can maybe go with them as opposed to an unproven guy coming out of college. It looks great, but he did it in college. And we see a lot of those guys that go in the first round, you know, top 10, top 15s that are chewed up and spit out pretty early. I love Mel, I don't love these comps. It's a different, so it's so funny that when I said MKJ,

Jacob said in my ear, when you said MKJ, or mine maybe have MLK. And I'm well, that's perfect because Mel Kye per sounds like he had a dream as well. The K-Clubnic thing. Ignore what you saw last year. And just trust that the Jets have seen something vey- like, and sorry, I live in reality. Mel, I love you, but no. But the other part of it that really goes against everything that the season's supposed to be for the Jets is you've got to know before the draft, if you have something in Club Nick and I'm thinking, if I'm in December and I've got a chance to win, I can't go, well, I need to know about this quarterback. But that's what I would exactly. I got a win here. See, that's what I'm saying. We were all talking about. All glens got to win eight games, otherwise it's going to be out of a job. Yeah. You've got Mel Kye per say, with like, I got to find out what Club Nick is. If Club Nick plays, your season's over. How good he is. I agree. Because he's a rookie. No, no, no, a fourth round rookie, no? Right, but even if you believed that he would have been drafted higher, and then that season and Clems it, whatever, the thing is, you got to find out how he's supposed to find out if Gino Smith is winning games, he's not playing.

Well, two things. If Gino Smith is winning games, and you're fighting, let's say, a December, you're thinking we could maybe get a wild card, right? Then no matter what, you're not switching quarterbacks, you're happy where you are. Yeah. But even in a world to me, Don, in which you would go, hey, we're starting to think we're losing it, we're going to go to our quarterback next. Generally speaking, that is done with first and second round quarterbacks. The same level of we need to get to the guy who was a fourth round pick, it just doesn't happen that often. Not saying never, but it's uncomfy. He didn't have my deck, Prescott. Sure, it happens. And Tom Romo got hurt. I mean, we'll see if Cade Clubnik becomes the next act Prescott. I'm going to bet against it, but you go with everybody. I know. Push this kid because you had no other option. He's your backup quarterback. That's a lot. Not only your fourth round pick, he's your backup quarterback. Didn't weren't they going to bring someone else in last week? Didn't we just hear there was, there was, while they were waiting to see it. Oh, they worked out, they worked out levis. We'll love us. By the way, by the way, if you worked out will levis, do you feel that Cade Clubnik is ready?

Well, levis could end up being a guy you just would have as a third guy. And then as a third guy or as a guy we don't want to put it in. And I think this is fair because we got to trust Frank. If Clubnik looked over his over his head, they would have probably gone out to find a quarterback. They clearly were pretty comfortable with they saw. And for the most part until the very last until his performance in the last preseason game that he played in, like he actually looked pretty good. So I think they just are thinking, you know, I think he can handle it. He's not over his head. He's pretty sharp. He's a lot of the guy. And the guy is a lot of the lot. It's a lot to have. I'm not saying you're wrong. You're right. It is a lot to ask. And it feels like there's no safety net. But you got to believe that they are thinking we can, you know, if the worst thing will happen as we go to him and we'll get to know whether or not we have one or not. If you got an analyst saying that they got to see what Cade Clubnik is, nobody's expecting his team to do anything. But I think there's enough talent there that they should.

We wouldn't sing games, but hey, listen, we all said he lose the Tennessee on Sunday. Did he see all the other? I see one of the last time they won. That was a hilarious point. I thought that was a hilarious point by John though. In our pre-show meeting, it sums up football fans. He goes, but Peter, Peter, listen to you. You have to admit, it's not hyperbole to say that if they lose to Tennessee, their seasons and free fall. I went, no, no, that's exactly what hyperbole is. That is the definition of what hyperbole is. But when you're home against the Packers and then you've got the bears and you just don't, but we don't know who any of those teams are. We don't, but you, did you watch the Titans in pre-season? No. Oh, yeah, I made a point of it. Everybody. Of course you did. That's my point. You didn't watch them, but if you just take a look at what they did and how, by the way, their second year quarterback looked, not good. I understand, but I just cannot lose to this. No, I just want to series about turning things around. If all the things that were said in that story about how things have turned and the cultures changing, but the Peter's point, it's time to will one game it.

But the Peter's point, let's say, Gino Smith, soft serve. We pants in your pants. Three picks, sixes, they get blown out. Three picks, are you going to start club nick in week two at home, the home opener against the Packers? Of course not. Well, three, by the way, three picks, sixes and anything's on the table. I want to say that. Well, right now, I don't know if I started the second half. Yeah, I'm going to say, if I take him out immediately after the third pick, six. But yeah, I hear you. And I'm just saying, let's all just, this is, I know it's not fun to do a constant. Let's wait and see. We're going to have to wait and see someone. I'm sorry. We wanted to kind of look like something to me. Big gasman said it earlier in the summer. It's a must win. And I kind of laughed it off the way you did. But now I'm starting to think like, it's not going to be good. We come up, we come out on Monday and we're talking about a jet law. Hey, listen, I got, I got, you know, dear Gunning, what do you think Jeff fans are going to do if they lose the Tennessee? They're going to sell their tickets to Packer fans and it's going to be Lampo. It's going to be Lampo East. No, they sell fans. They are not selling their home opener tickets.

If they lose the Tennessee, they will absolutely, they will absolutely. If you're a side coming from Suffolk County, they're, they're, they're itching to make some money. Hold on. If you're exactly, I'm telling you, it's going to be Lampo East. It's going to be the Jack, Jacob's list Packers. Jordan Love God forbid gets nicked up in a week one. You don't know what's happening week two. It's the NFL. The first month that we are going to come in next Monday. And there is going to be one or two games that we go, can you friggin believe so? All right, all right. I know. I know every week one of us is crazy. And now it's every week one through four. This is happens. Yeah. I mean, listen, I, I hear you and I'm not defending it. I'm just telling you, I know. Listen, my, my buddy JP Finley, who show I do in DC, he doesn't think the commanders are anything. He's picking them against Philly because he thinks Philly starts slow every year. And Jalen Hertz has to get comfortable with the new, would new wide receivers. No, there's always things take time to show. No, no, there's going to be a game where like half of your suicide pulls out because somebody,

somebody shocks the world. So that's why you can't bail even if they lose right. It's the game of Robert Salas life, by the way. He's coaching this game, thinking his life is running the stadium steps that day. Oh, he's going to be shot out of a friggin cannon. So there's a whole chest bump in every time. Dude, there's, there are 53 guys and an entire staff on the other side who are playing for their guy, thinking this is our Super Bowl. So you just have to remember, there's another team that shows up. The former Jets on that team. Yeah, oh, by the way, great point. It's happened. There's a table there too. I mean, it's going to be a very interesting game coming up on Sunday. Laster only here for LeQuinta by Wyndham. Just subscribe to us whenever you get your podcasts. Well done. Yes. We've talked about the jet side of things, and the importance by the end of the season. For the jets to know if they really do have a coach, even though we're starting to learn that the relationship between Aaron Glenn and Woody Johnson seems to be ironclad. And with that in mind, you would think that Woody would want to make sure that he gives Glenn every opportunity to be successful. And the one thing that it feels like that could take down the season is quarterback play.

Right. On the giant side of things, we know John Harbaugh is locked in. He just got the job. He is a big name. They invested a lot in him, and the plan is now to let them lead, let him lead the giants back to prominence. Where they were when Tom Kaufman was there. Another obviously coach of a name. But we also need to know by the end of the season something about the giants. Yeah, for sure. And that is whether or not they have the quarterback that everybody believes Jackson Dart is, which is a franchise quarterback. He had a really good debut, but there's still a lot to be seen to be convinced that this is the guy. They think he is. They love him. Harbaugh believes in him, but now it has to be seen. Because the giants, while they're schedules tough, and there's not as much expectation to win right now, there's some talent there. And you have a guy like Harbaugh as a head coach.

Jackson Dart has probably the most pressure on him this season of any player in the uniform. You agree to disagree? Oh, I think for sure, especially the way things have been built up for him, driving here on the Jersey Turnpike, he's got those cuboid boards all over the place. I mean, people have really fallen in love with him and are expecting big things. What I find interesting is the pressure they've applied on him with wide receiver depth. And it's now time for the big blue report, which is brought to you by King's Hawaiian. And that's the fact that they have released a serious slate. According to Connor Hughes, he did not ask for his release. So why was he let go? That's the question. Was it just the case of, hey, you're not going to play much. So you're a veteran. You're the longest tenure giant. We're going to give you a break. We're going to cut you loose early enough for you to maybe latch on with another team rather than you languish on the bench. Because giants think they're set, but you're only talking about four guys. And two of them are kids. And neighbors is young too. All right, I guess neighbors is healthy.

So you got neighbors in fields. They love fields, but he's still a kid. And then you got Mooney and Beckham, Jr. You got the old man in the sea and three kids. Yeah. Mooney is the one that if you're slate and a slate wasn't able to beat Mooney out for the job. Mooney's Mooney with Mooney's good. Like what does that say about Slater? Well, by the way, it was there a long time. He's seven years and he's not 40. He's not 40. But he's he's he's can you name the big catch that he's had? Like, you know, he's been there for a while. And it feels like they were probably giving him, like, listen, you're not going to play much. So I mean, he he really must have fallen down in the depth chart. Yeah. I remember last year's telling about what their offense has been for the last several years, by the way. Yeah. But remember last week I failed to remember Peter. I feel you forgot his name. Yeah. When I was talking about their depth chart. And I was like, Oh, wait a minute. That's right. He's there because it's not like the first name that comes to mind anymore because of who they have. It says a lot about what they think that O'Dell can give them.

They think Mooney is right. And by the way, Mooney had a hundred and six catches. Sorry. Mooney had 64 catches for 992 yards two years ago. Yeah. Last year, I said kid. He's 28. He's still. He by the way, he's the same age as Slayton. But last year he had 32 catches for 443. He wasn't an absolute world. How many did he get? Did he get injured? No, he played 15 years left. 15, okay. Yeah, his bet. His best year was in Chicago in 2020. I don't I remember him. Yeah, most he had a thousand yards in 81 catches. It's just amazing. He was drafted in 2020 and that makes you, you know, seven year better. Yeah. I hate it. It's I hate it. I'm just I feel like this game. To I'm not old man, but you know, and obviously Beckham's the old man. They, you know, it doesn't it feel like, like, feels locked up a job like right away. Like that's going to there's going to be chemistry there. But when I saw Slayton get caught, I said, well, there was a lot of drops. He had some tough, he had a tough season last year. He did. But they about that. They would tell me the team over him though. Think about that.

But this has to mean neighbors is okay for week one, right? Maybe yeah, they hope that. Well, I just, but think about this. And then Barrios, Barrios is there too. But wait, what's Barrios's status though? I don't know if he's, he's not going to be ready for week one. By the way, that'll be more special teams. I bet. Well, Dan Graziano was on get up and he gave an update on the league neighbors. And the league neighbors has been a very pleasant surprise for the giant coaching staff since they got back to training camp. Since they, you know, they take you take five, six weeks off after mini camp. They believe that he was further along in his recovery when they arrived at training camp than they had reason to expect him to be. So he's passed every test. He's been out there with a non-contact, not with a non-contact jersey last couple of weeks. It sounds like he's going to be good to go for Sunday night, which is massive for the giant. And it felt like that the entire camp, right? That he was going to be ready for week one or at least not the whole prognosis of he might miss the first month of the season. That felt like it was off the table the second they reported the camp.

But it's interesting. But and you also have camps cataboos, you're going to be in your back field. Yeah, you know, full back, you know, starting. They're going to be, I guess, to just going to place some smash mouth until they figure it out. All Harbaugh talks about is that the physical we're going to be physical, right? They want to win the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. And it's going to be, again, not three yards in the cloud of dust, but it's still going to be a lot more of a physical football approach with the offense. I really do think they're going to run more and not rely as much on darts arm unless they need it. And let's not forget, likely is there as the tight end. So he could be someone that's a major part of their passing game as well. He's a tight end, but yeah, he's, yeah, he's really another receiver. Right. Yeah, yeah. So I think, oh, Del is the one that jumped off the page. To me, the idea that you have a guy in Darryl Slayton who basically was like, you could count on him for 500 yards of season. Yes, he was not a superstar, but he's been a good receiver.

And he's a good, he was a good vet. And Odell is a guy who people like, does he have a place in this league anymore? You know, he's barely played in two years, guys. And Odell made the team and Slayton's gone. And now he might play more than you think. That's the way the office, he saw a little something. It knows either that. And Harb has a real sucker for a story and just like, you know, well, just, you know, just, you are always really impressed with him and ball to more and just likes, you know, his, his presence. I mean, I know we judge him by the last time he was here. And there was a level of immaturity, but he did win a Super Bowl in LA. It bounced around a bit. I'm sure he's a completely different human being. And there is something about the prodigal son returning. And there's a motivation there. And the fans are going to love it. I mean, it's past me. It's, I don't see it, you know, but there is a younger fan base that relates to him. And how good he was, especially that 2016 season when they made the playoffs. And it's him like him and Eli were the reason that they were at 1-11 games that year. But no part of you as a giant fans excited to see him back.

No, I got, I have no feeling at all. It's really, I do not, I do not look at his 10-year fondly. All right, but, but there's nothing. I have about this. He's already been looking. He's already been the best player to ever play the position on the team. But I'm not saying that wrong. He might be the most talented. But, but, but, but, name him more talented. I'd receive a film of conkey. I mean, he might be the most talented. Why'd receive a never-had. I mean, listen, nobody stayed along in a period of time. That's the thing. You want a championship with Plexigal Burris. But he's not even a giant. I'm not. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't, I don't. That catch against Dallas comes in a loss. A created a monster they couldn't handle. And it ended, it ended basically Tom Copeland's career within New York giants. It caused a rift between him and John Mara. Yeah. Like they didn't end up playoff game at the time. He was here. True. So I don't, I don't dislike him. But I'm, I'm kind of dumbfounded on how we celebrate his 10-year here. I don't, I don't feel it.

I don't know if I think people celebrate his 10-year. There's people talking about. He should be the last one when they do introductions. Like he should be the last one introduced. Well, I mean, you don't have a lot of, you don't have a lot of options. They just caught, like, they're, isn't sleeping like their longest 10-year playoff. Who should be the last one introduced? It's now Andrew Thomas. They don't have long term. They're like, oh, they should be like the last one introduced. Like, he's returning home. No, but I'm saying I'm not feeling. But what's slain gone, Andrew Thomas is the longest 10-year giant. Yeah. So for Odell to have an important role is not supposed to be there. And I kind of look at it as good. This decade has been complete garbage. But don't you would retrospect look back more and have, no, no, here. You're not going to get arrested. Hey, you're not me. And that guy, Alan, do you hear when he suddenly becomes that guy? I don't care. No, no, he doesn't want it. And then you write it down, save it for Thursday. In retrospect, though, doesn't it make you blame the giants more than Odell? I like see. He was a 23. He was a 22-year-old kid. I told you. This organization couldn't handle him. I was right. That was an air fault more than Odell. I'm not saying you're wrong. You know what I mean? But I'm saying I, I told you, I don't hate him.

I just don't look back at the Odell era as anything special. Yeah, the giants and lip orally, Tom Cofflin and lip orally, it wasn't all Odell's fault that Cofflin got fired. It was just a state of the team. It was the state of everything that just, I don't look back at it fondly. But isn't there a part here that gets to clean that up? Wouldn't it be nice to have it end a little cleaner? Have a little cleanup here. Have one positive note. I want everybody to contribute to see if this team could win. But I don't look at the prodigal son returning. I don't look at that era as anything. But if you're a giant, if you're 20 year old giant fan, it's the best you've seen. I get it. That's the difference. It's Donna's seen better. And so for him, he's not impressed. So you're not looking forward to seeing him. But you are kind of curious to see how to play. Very curious. And you know what? I believe in Harbaugh and if Harbaugh keeps him on the team, he saw something. I'm all for it. I'm not against him being on the team. I don't dislike him. I'm just curious why this era is being celebrated as much.

In the time slot, what the show is. I was taking my last lap before going to bed. I'm like, I'm going to go to MSG. I want to see if they have it up there. And of course, right away, I saw a DPA drone, Robert, okay. And just to see, I love the guy. Like when you see your name in the guide or in the lower third, you're doing something. Yeah, pretty exciting. I love it. I love it. I love the fact that somebody takes a picture of your cable TV at home. And then let me know if we're in that bar at the bottom. I'm looking. Hold on. Change the channel. What is it here? I'm looking at the TV. On YouTube, TV. Okay. While you do that, yeah, you don't know. Let's talk to Phil and Quizz. Oh, that's sending the other one. You're on ESPN, New York. What's up, Phil? Phil. Hey, who's going on guys? Long time no talk. What's happening? I got to say, out and on, man, you are quite a specimen on TV, man.

I'm missing your ugly blood, man. And Don, yeah, man, you're all right, Peter. You're your Peter, man. I love you, either way. Whoa. I love that. You're good. So something you want to tell us about. Yeah, dude, whatever time. You're right, Peter. Well, you're just Peter. By the way, is this? Should I be concerned that the description for us appears to be just a book? Should I be just a blank screen with an empty chair and a microphone? Oh, no. I guess that was the angle you were supposed to be. Yeah, that is. I don't see. Oh, no. There's no description of us whatsoever. All right. What's up? Yeah, what do you got, Phil? All right. So there's just a couple of quick points of, I'm not, it's a new idea, I'll join you on things. But the fact that Aaron just come back after 99 days. I mean, look, just put money on the Yankees when the World Series is. It's a Nick's Yankees championship year, baby. Let's go. I mean, I feel like that. Or the Nick's Arrangement for the, or the Nick's Arrangement for good marketing. Or the Yankees. Yeah, that's a good idea. The Yankees are not going to do it with him, but. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, no, I get it. I get it. And so I feel like, as a giant fan, I feel like the jets are always in the same situation,

where they're never bad enough to get the number one pick. And they're always relying on, like, or hoping for, like, their fourth or fifth round picked to, to save this season. And I just feel like they just got to just tank and go, you know, just let it all, I know Aaron Webpoly has his job safe, but still, like, just tank, man. And for the Giants, I think we're going to have a winning field. I don't think we'll make the playoffs, but I see like a 9 and 8 season. Well, I hope you feel, let's see. I don't see the playoffs either, just because I have too much respect for the really good teams in the NFC. And if you're telling me the cowboys are making it, then that's a team that didn't make it last year. Like, so I don't know where they were able to squeeze in. Nine to me is not going to be enough. But, you know, as far as the jets tanking, okay, let's say they tank. Well, they've been in position to take quarterbacks high. It took Zach Wilson too. Right? They took Sam Donald III. Remind me of that. They took Sanchez at five. Like, they tried the veteran quarterback.

They've tried drafting the quarterback. Nothing is seen to work. So I can understand you feel like you're in a losing treadmill with the jets every year. It's the same thing. Young coach trying to prove himself with no quarterback. The head coach loses his job. Go to another head coach and try another quarterback. But the one thing is, is that it does feel like the jets do have talent. They just don't have talent in the right places. It's quarterbacks league and they haven't had one in 40 years. Yeah. Now, I got to tell you, I'm seeing something very interesting happen. Interesting happened in this Alex Mikkelsen Francis Tiafo match. How are we doing here? Well, Tiafo Mikkelsen has not had not lost a set in the tournament. This is a battle of two Americans. Tiafo was down two sets. However, it looks like he's in route to winning the fourth set. Let's go. So what you'd be having right now, if you're lucky enough to be at Arthur Ash, is a five set all American clash, which is what's happening. But it did look like earlier Tiafo was limping a bit.

And, you know, I worry about pain. And because of that, I'm doing something about it. I am actually a patient of Dr. J. Shaw. That's right, Sam L. Payne. Dr. Shaw is a Ivy League trained.
