Your vehicle doesn't just get you from here to there. It's a bridge to the people and places that matter most. It's how you show up for your family, your community, and everyone else that depends on you. That's why for 125 years, Firestone has been building tires with one thing in mind to deliver products that are as reliable as you are. Firestone always dependable since 1900. This is the Don Han and Rosenberg podcast. That sounds like heaven to me! Listen live weekday afternoon starting at 3 on 880 ESPN, the ESPN New York app, and your smart speakers. Big shout out to all the bars and restaurants that have us on. I know our friends at Blondes have us on their TV. Shout out to Stout everybody at Stoutwatch and all the different locations we have in New York City including our favorite one. Don just waved, which I did want to say what's wrong with you, but he's actually correct.

Most people can't hear us. All they're getting is the way. Most bars and restaurants. They get the subtitles maybe or we're just a talking thing they see looking at. Don, your wave actually, it's actually a lot of surfaces as for a radio show. It makes sense here. I'll also be supposed to communicate to them. We can just sign through us. Sign language leaders. Gracie knows sign language gotta teach me. Then we can just do sign. We can sign throughout. But we also have extra pressure now. Go ahead. Gotta look right. Oh yeah, we got to look right. Take what do you mean? We already did it. Take a look around. Robert Graham's gonna take care of that. And you. I'm just saying we just want to make sure though we're on point. Every day. Look, it's the first day of school for everybody. So we're all... We're saying tomorrow. I've just to the night. The only rule that I've set for myself moving forward with this in this era to show respect for the brand is I will never wear. Unless there were some sort of special occasion I made reference to it.

I would never wear a t-shirt with like logos or images on it. Meaning is there a world in which I would ever wear like a t-shirt? Maybe a plain, clean, black shirt with like a necklace. That's it. Sure. Maybe. But I'm never gonna wear... The Rosenberg days of like... It's a commander's logo. It's a wrestling shirt. I'm done. No more pajamas. No more pulled on. That's hold on. Now you're going back to the old or early yesterday. When I looked just full on a pug. But you said you weren't gonna go back to it. No, I didn't exist. Referencing... It's gonna be mostly... I would say to me, mostly this level of the nice, thicker knit semi-formal. My wife loves when I wear suits all the time. But I'm like, every day it's so much work. It's a lot of work to keep up. I agree. Although Nat did say, you know, we have... I don't want you into the specific details. But we have, because I don't know if it's announced yet. We have a remote coming up soon. We do.

In which I believe you guys will both be dressed. Yes. Because you both will have games. Right. Yes. I think I'm gonna dress up for that day. And I think Nat is gonna come. And you know what? I'm just trying to do something. It's gonna be a sentence. To the location. Yes. And based on where we are, we'll be right near another important location. Yes, you will. And she thought, given all the information and new things happening, if we're all gonna be dressed up, she would just take us out on the street near said location and do a quick photo shoot on the street for us. What are your thoughts? That's tremendous. You don't, Donnie, follow me. What I'll put it down here? I know exactly what he's saying. It's gonna be clear. I can't be 100% sure that I don't understand. I think that's what he's saying. Now, and now, didn't we have another important shout out you wanted to get to as well? Well, yeah, I mean, just, we should, we're giving shout outs now to all the people. Yeah. I did want to just quickly shout out my mom because she had quite a weekend, a little bit of a car accident.

Oh, it sounded like a pretty serious car accident. Yeah. But the good news is is that I got to go visit her in the hospital. She's at Madder. They're taking good care of her over there. And most importantly, I was able to talk to her because sometimes accidents like these, it was not everybody walks out. Oh, is that bad? Yeah. Oh, wow. So shout out Subaru. Because those Subruc... The Subaru came through. They're not lying about those commercials and walking away from accidents that... That was a big deal. So, mom, thanks for watching. Love you. Get better. Yeah. And we want to tell you as best we can. And I promise I won't say anything bad about the matter. I won't say anything bad about the mets during this time. Yeah, please let her... Well, she's recuperating at least. At least. It's at least I could do. It makes sense that she would survive an accident. She passed him through her. Yeah. Even the size of her... Well, he wasn't that bad. She was close. She survived me just growing up in general. If you can live through that, you can live through anything. But wow, no, that's a word. So yeah, so glad she's okay. But that's the best part is that I got to go and visit her

and joke around and see her smile. And she was laughing a little bit and was able to... Yeah, which is good. And some matter now, I'm just working away with that. And I'm glad we're able to help her out. And now she can view us on TV with this whole msg story. She made sure, first thing she told them. Now, you bet, have msg. My son's going to be on msg. I wonder if my parents have figured out. My mom's back too. We got her again? Yes. And have you confirmed? I have not been able to... I should confirm during the break. She's got it on, yes, right now. One of them. We did that. That's a great point. Where she lives, it's... It was a channel 578. It's 78, but if she wants it in HD, and really, why would you go anywhere else? 578. Whenever we have a storm at home and we lose HD, No, no, no. Only direct TV. Not HD. Marcus. Marcus, like... Well, they flip it to the old timey chain. By the way, it's 100% correct. By the way, The long res is old timey to Marco. Update, Peter. All right.

From mom. Okay. From Michelle. Michelle. I agree with Peter. What's that? There's a divide with baseball fans in New York, but not with the Nix. That's right. The whole city and tri-state is behind the Nix. Thank you very much, Mama. Thank you very much. With two hearts. Thank you. This is where I am going to get into... All of a sudden, he's St. Peter. That's right. That's right. With Nix and H. Go ahead. The Yankees are a different story. As much as I don't want to admit it, I'm not a Yankee fan. Yankees are different. Now, basketball is the city's gay. And on the island of Manhattan, for sure, the Nix are number one. There's no question. But when you start sprouting out to the tri-state area, and you start counting N.Y.s out there on hats, on t-shirts, people that are Yankee fans, especially certain older generation of fans, that if you want to just say, if we could agree upon 60-40, that 60% of the town or the tri-state area are Yankee fans and 40% Matt fans or other, whatever. It was... That's 60%.

In my opinion, is bigger than the Nix 100%. As far as sheer... You mean numbers. ...than numbers. So that's why I think if Judge were to win a championship, he would be the king of New York. Well, it has three... It's the Yankees. Almost three million people came to this parade. Oh, no, there's no question. And the Yankees might be... That's a big deal. Listen, how many millions went to the ranger one when they won 54 years? Not a million. The 53. But that was also 30 years ago. Everything's different now. Again, I'm not going to sit there and tell you the Nix don't have fans. They certainly do have fans. I'm just saying the Yankees... It's a thing. Well, I'm agreeing with you. It goes beyond... I'm agreeing with you. Like extra generations, I think, a lot of older people are more baseball fans, than basketball fans. And I just think the Yankees with their history now Peter brings up a good point. 53 years, that's a long time. But the Yankees fans, 2000 and I was a long time. But it's not even about the length of time. It's just... It's the Yankees, man.

That's... And they're fandom outside of New York and... But you would... And think about... That's... Think about what you're saying though. You're making the point for me. Why? Because he's saying the Yankees thing would be bigger or where? Outside of New York. Well, I'm saying the Tri-State area. But when you think really king of New York, meaning like they walk down the street in the city. And the whole city just carries them. I don't think Judge Winning's changing them. I hear what you're saying. It can be more people everywhere. The Yankees are such a national team too. The NYXR too, but Yankees even more. But I don't think... I think it's still... Here's... Here's the thing. I think you have to have the caveat of judge having big moments and being like the centerpiece in the World Series MVP. You got to have all that. It can't be the Yankees win a World Series. And Judge was meant. Oh no, well it has to be... If he did, he was... He was... And had done... Oh well. That's the Apple's comparison. Right? He's the World Series MVP. He's hit the whole world over the place. He is the man.

Okay. So I'm with you with the sheer numbers of it all. And the magnitude of the Yankees presence. The logo, the franchise, the history, the fact that it transcends. And also, which is something that Brunson and the NYX went through this past run. People who aren't really sports fans. Got into it because it was something everybody got into. Right? The Yankees are some... Are a team. It might be the only team in the city. That when things are going good for them and they're a show like when Judge was going for 62 is a great example. People who don't really pay attention to sports get into that because of the brand. So that's why it would be really interesting to see how big it would be. And what I was saying, Peter, I know it's 16 years. But that's again, that's like dog years. You don't understand.

I Yankee years. That's like an eternity. But it's not. But it's not 53. It's still even in dog years. It wouldn't add up to 53. They went what, 18? Done between championships from 78 to 96, right? Yeah, that's right. So this is almost that. Like you were almost there again. It's 96, man. That was... People wept. Now, the bigger down, the better... Again, we don't know what it looks like with Judge. But if everything happened the same. Clearly, the story is Brunson slaying the dragon 53 years. That's something that the Yankee's hands possibly produced. And his size is stature and everything he's about. But Judge is... Judge is a better baseball player than Brunson is a basketball player. I think we can all agree on that. Judge Brunson would never be considered... Maybe when you talk about clutchness and winter, but I don't think he's in the conversation of the top five basketball players in the NBA. Judge is in the conversation of it's either one or two of the best players in the game. Believe now, he's at least considered top 10.

And he's in that conversation now. Judge is either Otani or Judge, your best player in baseball. And again, it's just something about the Yankee's. But when it comes to offensive talents in the history of the franchise, which the Yankee franchise has a history of some amazing offensive talents, Judge is in the conversation as one of the best. Jalen Brunson is the greatest offensive player in the history. Oh, I'm not going to sit here and start playing the game. He has become that whole length of time throwing any shade at Jalen Brunson. I know, you know, I'm just trying to just explain the Peter like it's somebody again. I'm not saying that. I'm really curious to see there's something about the Yankees. It's just so how big is the met powerful? How big is the met fan impact on this then? How big would the met because we know that the net fan impact was minimal. There were net fans who started, right? They changed back over and became Nick Vans during this run. That was really happening. Right.

But the met and their fan would never celebrate the Yankees winning or Judge doing something spectacular. So does that, is that what I think that's what Peter's saying that Carves out from what the Nix did? Right. The Nix had the whole city in unison celebrating. Absolutely. And because of the 53 years everybody got on the course. The Nix won the championship next year. All the lose a lot of people are like, all right, I've seen this before. I'm going to go to Lincoln Center this weekend. I'm not going to care. You know, so you had that. Listen, hockey's never been that big. But when the Rangers won, it was like, unbelievable because it was 54 years. It became just a story. The Yankees can't do that because they never go that length of time without winning a champion. That's right. But what goes on said, and I'm saying New York, not the country because I think in the country, it's football and basketball. Those are the two biggest sports in this country. But in New York, I think baseball is bigger than basketball.

And the reason the net fan is so shut out, it's just not enough basketball fans for there to be a second team to have any kind of pulse. That's the other story. There's so many baseball fans who could have a net fan base as significant because that's how many people are based ball fans. So you're talking about like if we were doing the numbers, you know, the Nick, the Nick contingent is like, you know, two, three million, the Yankee thing would be five. So it's just a larger base. So it doesn't mean a large percentage of New York. Well, Javier from Queens has a very, very interesting take here. Javier. What's up, boy? That's on the MSG. Thank you. Thanks, man. Oh, so Alan, I was thinking the other day, Alan, Javier lives. I was playing golf at Marshall, great nine goal golf course. Okay. A close family friend and he was introducing me to everybody as Javier. And now you're back for like five years.

Javier. Oh, my God. Carvassia. Javier. Related. Yeah. Yeah. So I think the next thing is with the Yankees, Brunson talk, right? A couple of things. Judge could hit a walkoff in game seven and Brunson will still be the king of New York. Don, I disagree with you. I think Judge could be the king of like Major League Baseball, King of the Country, but Brunson is so polarizing in this city. The Nicks are so like united on their fandom. And the other thing too with Brunson, kind of like Curry, he's a small guy, right? So I just think they're just more Yankee fans. Javier, I just think they're more Yankee fans. It pains me to say because I'm not a Yankee fan. I think they're more Yankee fans. But in the city, listen, what we put so much up the wall, you're saying if he hit a walkoff in game seven, I still don't think it wouldn't move. Well, I'm not going to limit it to the gallon. That and why? I don't know. I would say the entire five burrows or the Nicks are bigger in the five burrows.

You know, I believe and Westchester along on the Jersey. I'm telling you the Nickster is that unifier because the next all the favor a new fire because they haven't won in 53 years. This is a bigger than basketball in New York. Yeah, but hold on, but real quick, he's saying the King of New York. We're talking about the King of New York. The King of New York is not, I'm sorry. Respect. This is this could get contentious, but I think Alan is going to agree with me. The King of New York is going to be determined by people who are out and about and living in the world. The emotional. I'm sorry. It's not also not a sportsman. Not by 82 year old sitting in their house watching. Yes. Under 70 if you go look. No, no, but I'm just saying in terms of determining what feels like popular and big. You kind of do have to wait. Under 70. Why? Because over 70 doesn't dictate the culture of the city. It's not the culture of the city. It's bodies at home watching, but they're not in clubs and at restaurants. And it would out. But why?

That's what King of New York is. It's, it's are you the person when they walked on the street people go, oh my God, Jalen Brunsson in the same place as us. I think that in terms of. You don't think they'd say it out of the judge. They say it now about judge. Of course, judges already very big, but with the question is would it surpass what happened with the next this year? Does he even get on the Yankees Mount Rushmore with one world series? Well, that's unfair because the Yankees history, but he's still going to go down. Right now there are people talking about he might be the greatest right handed hitter in the history of baseball. All right. The one thing that has eluded him is a championship. If he gets that championship with a walk of home running game seven. Well, by the way, we already remembering though, you don't think the Yankees are hip. You don't think that there are people in clubs that are Yankee fans? Not. I don't, I don't think percentage wise it's close. Well, I think that you're. And also we also we just, we just, we just waited the whole thing. We just waited the entire thing. No, we had it a game seven. No, we had it. We had even more sauce to make it because Jalen didn't do that. Jalen didn't even have the game winner.

Jalen didn't even have the biggest shot of the final. I am only speaking of the north of what Javier said. Well, it was a good point because he could get out game winning home running game seven of the world series. It wouldn't be the King of York and I just agreed. But don't you think in the moment we live in the moment, right? And we're trying to act like a game seven. That's time you say in the moment. It would be every walkoff. Let's just say a big hit to win the world series. It doesn't matter what game it is, but it's the hit that does it and they win it. In the moment, it's October. It'll be. It'll be through the battle. You can't pretend like that's just September. You've got to go through the war. It'll be huge. And then see that moment and then we're like, oh my god, this guy. And his stature, his personality. Well, no, he's. But the mind that that that that that. What? What you just heard your own argument. His stature, plus yeah, his personality. I don't think slight minus. Well, yeah, but I don't think he does not have a random. But in person's play lights it up. He's not lighting up.

No personality either. No, no, no, no. He's funny and sarcastic and charming. Aaron judge is sort of a vanilla piece of paper. We cannot rule that. Well, lots of that. I'm glad that with his rest friend, though, I go buddy cop movie every day for their fan base. That's it's it's judge. I'm sorry has a team that's been personality lists for a decade and that's why the thing is on unfortunately and that's starting to change now with jazz and letting them have but this is an organization that no names on the back you weren't allowed to have beards until last year but this is the organization kind of brought it there but I just think that there's I think you need to see the moment to know that is true of course I just think it in the moment is like whole like oh my god moment but wouldn't but as good as it would be now you start from there and what happened six months prior it starts to disappear. I'm just I'm just here's the thing I'm wondering I was out walking around the city I was downtown I went to a watch party for game three of the finals. I've been in New York now almost 20 years when I was walking around downtown I have never for one sporting event I didn't

really go out much the the eve of the Super Bowl either time so maybe that would have felt so pretty close because the Super Bowl but I have never seen anything like every single bar because it is because it is in 53 years but that's the whole thing I know but if the Yankees be 53 years right Yankees no matter what if the Yankees went 53 years without a champion but this would be that that shouldn't work against judge but it's going to that's what we're talking about like what it should do is irrelevant all it is is what it is Aaron judge wins the world series he will not surpass Jalen Brunson I I put my life on it it would be a big deal but I would not be a world but I also take exception that you just you making the world just about your little hip hop interest under the age of 70 but not everybody under the age of 70 there's a lot of this I understand a basketball is a younger type of audience but no no of course and there is a young baseball audience as well but you cannot remove the fact that they also have a really big percentage that's above

a certain age that's that does not move the needle one way or the other because the fact of the matter I do think baseball fans are older but they make it seem like they're all like 70 years old just saying at home that are Yankee fans is tons of people that are Yankee fans tons they are a huge one of the biggest team that all have a moment like the nicks because they never go that long without a championship but that's the main you're making the main argument for right but that is the main reason it's not because I think judges so much better or Brunson so much better than judge it's because the situation is so unique you're talking about you need to so it just puts him in a place that just is incomparable that's exactly it judge judges been the better player for his career of course he has he's one of the greatest ball players of all time Jalen Brunson's not going to be one of the greatest basketball players of all but I have to be as if the jets found a quarterback that you just fell in love with and they want to start all but but even the jets aren't there split with the job of people going to stout and all the people that

went to the parade they're not around for if they win next year they're not around if they win another championship two three years from now because it's like been there done that right so his crown so the so he could actually win multiple championships and the crown gets removed because now the catch a of the 53 years goes away and then there will sit judge and if judges won multiple maybe judge surpasses it I don't know if he has to I just think nothing I think nothing would surpass you know it's funny moment is we've gone as a market how many years without any of the major four sports teams winning a champion to rise since 2012 so the Yankee won't let me the big one was the first time that we've had a major four sports champion if you have a situation where the next winning June and the Yankees winner in October that's pretty good for business boys now I'd say so in our world is a win for all and it's a reality let's be honest we got to realize we got tons

of calls on this we got to talk about coming up next but I'm talking about it we can talk about this yeah that's fine we can talk about whatever we want we don't answer that we do answer to this right there you know that give it down he wants to show to be good I know but we still answer them he's not even paying attention what you're saying right now he's missing a good show I like things my way my coffee my schedule and my treatment so I talked to my doctor about self-injecting with the Vivgard Hydrilo pre-filled syringe which contains F-Gartiga Mada'lfa and Hyleronadase QVFC it's injected under your skin subcutaneously it means I can inject in my space on my time it's my treatment my way visit Vivgardmyway.com that's v-y-v-g-a-r-t myway.com and talk to your doctor about Vivgard Hydrilo brought to you by Argenics life insurance is one of those things that's easy to put off because it doesn't feel urgent today but it's not just another financial box to check it's about having a plan in place so if life throws something unexpected at your

this we we had a lot of different directions to go but i think this could be the talk about it we should talk about it because my my my problem with it and it is that i just think people are are biased right so Nick fans are gonna be oh of course it's Bronson and Yankee fans are gonna say well i didn't care about the Nick Rahm and Yankee but like but aren't i perfectly objective and i think i'm too because i have no love for the Yankees at all i you are but you are you are well you're gonna i would say you may be baseball slightly baseball bias well you could be basketball bias but i'm not like basketball boy i love basketball i'm not baseball boy does it mean no i think i honestly that's pretty good both very neutral enough to be in this conversation your neutral i'm not but you do have two dogs in the fight which makes you neutral but does yeah that is true as you could say because i was leaning judge based on the sheer size of the Yankee brand and it's fan base and what he's become judge i was leaning that way thinking that

you know the Nick thing the further it gets in the past the further it kind of starts to fade and this would be the new thing and you know people are with the new thing it's the next thing it's that's why i was saying this is the whole version our minds in the battle to get there in the wins and the losses and the whole thing and if he actually comes out on top and is a big reason why in the moment i just feel like he probably gets hailed and we move on to the net you know again long live live the king yeah and find out all ages because even though there's not as many hockey fans mark messier still not paying for any meals 30 minutes later you look jalen brudts is never gonna go hungry in this town that's for sure you know mark mark messier still yeah very relevant for how like less fans there are of hockey but because it was 54 years and it was a thing like i'm a firm i'm a firm believer maybe not to the extent but if that had happened now i think it would it would be close to the reaction we got the next everybody be ranger ranger jerseys there'd be three million people at the break is you know if they if but it was

94 was just that there wasn't the social media aspect that was still the number we lived it was a big deal it was monstrous that thing it was definitely it was definitely monstrous it was people who didn't care about hockey that suddenly were into it because of all the reasons you're saying i you know like it's it's a very fun topic to talk about and let's do it with Tommy and can advocate you're on dawn on a roseberg what's up Tommy good afternoon gentlemen i think i'm gonna pivot from my original point as far as the fan bases size but it's judge were to win i think the one trump card is that he's homegrown and i think that's gonna take the cake um and then as far as fandom i mean i might be the outlier i might be the outlier but you know for me it goes baseball football hockey and then i don't really care about that so i i i can't be alone in that it's interesting like because football is so gargantuan here too um but it still always felt like it was more of a baseball town

than a football town but god when the giants are good and you look at how look at the yellow man he's still doing stuff like even though giant fans still that use overrated and all that like like he's still doing commercials he's it that championship was 2011 and and Eli still walking around like he owns the place it that parts a lot isn't it crazy the Eli thing is actually bonkers when you think about it because he might be more popular now than that was oh yeah now he's got like this personality i mean because the giants are pop up in that and that's somewhat repugged polymark commercial that which was gonna be original talk about actually think he was the star of the commercial he was you know just since since we came here real quick just for a second since to talk about it Tuesday listen i don't i'm not gonna claim to know a lot about the whole polymarket thing except that it's just like part of society now gambling anybody knows but it's just like the idea if i believe i'm correct here is it just gambling on absolutely anything with no guardrails no guardrails because it's not gambling now it's invested it's invested right it's

you're just betting you're you're betting that a certain thing will happen to familiar with this time yeah because i the way because um was it uh i i don't know how to pronounce begins with a case similar college yeah yeah the same thing right where somebody will say Dodgers are winning the world series and and you'll bet that he's wrong something like that yeah but it will remove the sports part from it because we already have that with gambling this about everything right but but including sports though right i think so yeah i'm seeing a lot of these at the game i believe that's not going to happen right right that's not gambling i'm just i it's my belief right but there'll be actual real money and and it'll be a percentage of people who believe the same thing you do versus others and it's not enough that we have the legal sports gambling that's not enough for people to do so we now have to have polymarket where at any moment you can bet on absolutely any single thing to have it anyways they did a commercial today yeah with Lebron yeah and they just so many people are in this commercial and it just a lot of people are very grossed out at how many people were like oh is there is there so money i can get and i guess it's hard you know i think i think us regular people who live like normal lives and you know understand

that the three of us sit here getting paid to do a really fun job but we still all live in the realm of normalcy uh financially like it's hard for us to conceive of how people worth in Lebron's literally a billion dollars how much money was it worthwhile for you to go promote this like weird thing that everyone's very unsure about how it's going to affect society like did you need it and they got jitter they got manning they got Lebron yeah it it was on and on and on and just a lot of uh some question marks from a lot of people about like hey to my favorite athletes need to go do this but i guess everybody's got a price yeah what do you think the number is by the way that they get someone do it like oh i think a piece investment right like the Yanis is on the calcium side right that could be it and Yanis got a sizeable piece of the biz so they give you what they give you a a probably a very little piece but a little piece is you know by the way if you've seen this whole thing i'm from Greece and then they do like a whole spoof on the

the actual is the polymarket also or i thought it was calcium okay but it's they do a spoof because he says you know like i'm from Greece and then they spoof the movie Greece with him as the main character is jon trovalda it's not good anyways sorry but i know i digress it's to the point though elie manning to this day in spite of the fact that when he had a playing career while his teammates all thought he was amusing also on the outside thought he was a bore and it turns out now he's this is a funnier lovable yeah all because he want to cover super big it's it's because he put the order of you know as a what what's the biggest thing in the tristate area is it is it football because you can't look at television ratings of course football is going to dominate everything right there's the giants cowboys are probably going to do better than so here's a great example of that though football we know is king we all admit it right it's huge and even in this market where both local teams have been garbage for years right it's still considered to be the biggest sport

that gets the most ratings in new york right yeah but when you think about the most beloved players in the history of new york how many of football players in the top five where it's like everybody just iconic name my lt that would probably be the even lt but even lt for who he is in his personality like he's never really become even after career right like others have post career others have become even more loved Keith Hernandez great example right right but yet like Clyde great example but yet in football who is it Joe that's one if I if I walk like football why they don't have that you guys the closest thing now because he's got a personality post career but I always found that he has been a while since I've gone to a game but if I if I go to a giant game and walk around and count like a giant fans they right but I'm saying oh there's still 56 jerseys I understand

it's been 30 years since he played at a giant's game I'm talking about in just like Peter says you're walking anywhere in the five boroughs and I tell you name me or your favorite New York athlete go how many would go football first mom or would they say baseball or basketball or basketball or the last decade of pretty much ruined it being a football and that's my point but that's my point so it's still the most popular sport but yet we don't have like the transcendent mega star iconic player that well I'll tell you this average fans not die hard giants fans I'm talking about casual sports fans in New York because there's more of those than there are the guys I bet you that if you with the exception of Bronc and because he's fresh on everybody's mind of the championship if you walk the streets of Manhattan started asking people who your favorite athlete is you'll hear

jeter you'll hear Eli you'll hear Messier you would hear Sims you would hear Clack I don't think you'd hear too many current you hear judge obviously because the current you hear you see every like a few lindore is an egos but but who's giving you the memories that's the thing it's always about who gives you the most memories and then it's the personality of the player after that you just love the player yeah and it doesn't matter what sport you're rooting for we're getting calls from people that are saying I'd like like Tommy I don't I don't even count basketball I like these three sports and I don't watch basketball but I guarantee you if I said to Tommy but you've got to have one basketball player you're like I respect him he'd have a name right unless the thing is is football is less about the player and more about the game I think you think it is because the players wear helmets and masks you only know them by their number so sometimes you know you can be a diehard giant fan and in walk past Andrew Thomas on the street right that's true you may not he needs one of the best players on the team right even when Dexter Lawrence was here is the best

player on the team like how recognizable is he can see his number or you see the giant uniform you know that during the game you see the player's size and figure you must play football that's what's even Jackson Dart it's still new you know the name you see him play right you know I think football is just different in that way it certainly is football is different what else football is here yes and draft kings is on then this September draft kings is giving all customers the opportunity to get boosted every game that's right every game day all month long draft kings customers can get a profit boost plus get extra protection with early exit opt in and if your player leaves the game with an eligible injury in the first half your bet is protected new draft kings customers sign up with code whsq spend just five bucks and get 200 in rewards within 21 days that's code whsq in partnership with draft kings the crown is yours gambling problem call 8778 open wire text open y467 369 21 plus New York only eligibility restrictions apply $50 in non-metrable bonus bets

bulls fan but i was kind of happy about the nicks winning but i wasn't saying that jill and brunson was a king in new york now because of that well he is for a second of all like me don't feel that well look at Lewis i hear you and number one jayne brunson is the king of new york uh deal with it is just the way it is and number two i did not say i didn't say most of the fans are over 70 again this is where and Anthony's in my ear say no i didn't say majority either relative to the nicks base if you were to remove the above 70 crowd for the nicks and the yankies it would hurt the yankies significantly more could we agree on that so you think that i've that many 70 year old people alive though yeah like a million 70 people alive there's a lot not that many 70 year old bro what errand you think we like what is it 17 you know like you're making it like there's a lot of people bro there's a lot of old people bro peter i don't think you mentioned

that's what i heard so maybe i'm mistaken yeah i didn't say the majority definitely ever said that i said there is a bigger percentage of yanky fans that are old then nicks are nicks fans that are old of course are we even around forever we hear from them they're absolutely are i just think that in general guys this is i'm not inventing this we could just we've wanted to dig into the demographics again the NBA is a younger sport that you you brought they have been growing the last decade whereas mageley baseball is going the wrong to have a graph the country in the country but not with it but in the york yeah the yanky fans you think that you think that in new york still a young fan base it's it you relative to i think you're scarred by the years on the case show and the older guys calling in and so that's the the majority of the voices you've heard but all you have to do I mean just john boy a great example of everything they do in the whole following that they have skews young very young it's just a large it's a very very large fan and listen every

time everybody comes on the bandwagon but the bandwagon was huge for the nicks because they had one in 53 years and then they became a relevant thing that the yankies can't do because they're always good so the yankies winning a championship even though they haven't once since 2009 to the majority of the people you know that that the average fan that jumped on the nick bandwagon probably won't jump on the yanky bandwagon because it's like I didn't they just win recently like to do a lot of different people this is question but judge is what what did what did what did what did the NBA finals with the nicks played in this year what didn't what did it max out at one of the games close to 30 million oh yeah and that's obviously and I would never even argue nationwide and be as bigger than baseball but in New York I'd have to find out what the yanky Dodger numbers were in New York compared to what the nicks numbers but the nicks were probably bigger because again they and one and I always watch and again I don't want us to get used to the playoffs every year again and I don't want to keep recycling the same argument over and over again but the question wasn't what are the extenuating circumstance the questions were was would Aaron judge replace

jalen brunson as the king of New York if the yankies were to win the world series and my answer is a firm no and a major part of that is all the things you're saying right now this moment was a once in a lifetime literally sort of moment that jalen brunson was the face of if judge wins it would obviously be huge is gigantic star to be a big deal I just don't think it surpasses we need to just because we don't know yep we don't know what it's going to look like what it's going to feel like and we may never be playing you know maybe they play the brewers and it's boring but if they play the Dodgers and get revenge and you know judge hits the game winning home run just two years after he dropped the ball and gave like you don't know what becomes things right what becomes what no the meme what becomes what yeah him catching him catching the final out taking the bottom is glove and holding it up like no you don't know you don't you don't know but I just feel like the even like you mentioned john boy they've obviously done a great job and there's a lot of attention around what they do but their stuff for example the john boy stuff never reaches

like my wife's world in any way next Twitter stuff crosses into all these other different social places that baseball stuff just doesn't and not did not know things right or wrong I'm just pointing out what like I've seen over time but I just don't think you can't you run that change you've become and we all become this is we live in our own little world like social media has made what what social media confirms to us is what I'm interested in rules because people don't the average person doesn't realize that Twitter you know they they come up with the algorithm to so I see I go oh my god I mean the Hughes is is trending all over the place everybody must be talking about Quinn Hughes and his non-extension minister that's big and you're in Jersey in my and I see it confirming that Twitter so I'm thinking this is monstrous and you live

in your world and you've got your algorithm and to you that's the biggest thing in the world and in his albums we but I'm just saying don't know stretches into other ones where sports isn't even your algorithm it had a new your cultural peace attached to it that I don't think a Yankees run is going to have and it may be because they've been so good it's just not news if they go on a playoff run they played the Dodgers in the world series five seconds ago it wasn't that big a deal I'm sorry they lost on their field and they celebrated in their face and it wasn't that big a deal well it was your world no no no one even knows what I'm angry about it it was like just a moment that happened I don't I don't do you remember that does not feel like it was a earth shattering moment they lost the world to because you guys that was your other show but that's all with that's all I live with forever was that it's why judges basically a variety of Yankee fans and and everything and maybe that's what we'll keep it from that world series was was a was a big deal

it was it was a big deal but it didn't even sniff what this one was a big deal but it was a big disappointment yeah but it was very quickly a big disappointment because of the mistakes that were made early in that series well even leading up to it though I wasn't a sexy way and no one felt it I didn't even feel there was that much judge before we got to the world series yeah but what you're going to score toes and you start doing things where everybody just face paulming as fan base you just start to get fresh and you know how this is going to end and that's the part that got fresh and of course there was the abomination of that inning the fifth inning you know like I remember it as watching as a fan who was just like we're embarrassing ourselves but with me stage and I just can't apples and ranges is that he's right the Yankees are in the world series if they go to the world series it's two times in three years the nicks don't go to the finals that often the nicks never win like so that's why it's really a tough there's just a tough cop for that exact um there's just back that's a judge is back that's a judge thanks for listening to about Don Han and Rosenberg podcast I don't want to know how the
