Strong communities are built in the places where life happens, where families build their lives, where students build their futures, where businesses create opportunity. Bloom Energy provides reliable power for the places communities depend on every day. From hospitals and college campuses to stores and factories, clean, quiet power that uses little water right where it's needed, so communities can keep moving forward. Bloom Energy. Power America relies on. This is Don, Hanne, and Rosenberg. On ESPN, New York, the MSG network, and streaming live on YouTube. And mostly got the Harry front. Three o'clock in the big city, Don on a Roosevelt on a Monday, and we've got a lot to do, baby, and a short period of time, or off at five o'clock, because we got to hand it off to baseball, game two between the Dodgers and the Brewers. I'm here at the Rock for Devil Senators tonight. Allen is in Madison Square Garden. He's got a game. And of course, there's Peter Rosenberg,

and there is just so much to talk about it so little time. So let's get it out of the way. How is everybody doing? I've been better, Don. I've been better. We had the same result, Peter, if there's ever a game where you had to see it, you had to feel it. You had to, you know, let's see what it looked like. It was that game. Because if you didn't watch the game, you'd be like, oh, it'll be interesting to hear Don and Peter today. They're probably both okay because their team's tied. But my God, the swing of emotion in that game, just unbelievable. But in that final moment, Peter, I'm celebrating and you're probably punching a wall. I'm celebrating as if they won. You're depressed as if they lost, but at the end of the day, 27, 27 tie. And that was completely reversed. Literally, I'd say what, five minutes of real life earlier. Right. Because five minutes of real life earlier, you guys are about to pull up and hit a field goal to end it. And, you know, I know Cam Skatabaugh could feel bad about himself. Maybe

tried too hard. You got to give credit. It's a great defensive play also though. They get the ball out. And I'm going, oh my God, they're going to win this game. Right. So we just said, we kept switching emotions. And this also comes off Don. I have to tell you, I did not really emotionally recover. And obviously we won't end up spending a lot of time there. Because now all the other interesting storylines are gone because the end of the game, the commanders are up 27 13 and get what appears to be a fourth down interception at the goal line. And I go, well, that's ballgame. You're up two scores and you got the ball back. It's done. Instead, they call pass interference Winston and throws a great touchdown. And now all of a sudden Dan Quinn, Dan Quinn now pulls the Dan Quinn special. I mean, we have to be honest about that part too. We're going to focus on the time management Don. Is there anyone worse about playing prevent in the world than Dan Quinn? I mean, he just the giants were shut down for two quarters and they just decided to let the giants move the ball at will. So he's got a lot to answer to today, even beyond in my opinion, the last

minute. And this is why you love John Harbol. This is why you feel like you're never out of a game because last year, tell me I'm wrong guys. They probably lose that game 35 to 13. They would have tucked their tail between their legs, not our day, but they fought. Yeah, they caught a couple of breaks, but they officiating. We all know going in. It's awful. There was a bank's defensive hold. I'm not even sure he touched them, you know, but whatever the case, they fight back. They tied the game and they find a way to get a tie. And for the giants of the situation they're in with Philadelphia, the way they lost that game in London with the cowboys losing at home to Tampa on Thursday. You know, it feels like a win because the giants actually gained ground on the entire division without winning a game. How crazy is that? So I was disappointed they didn't win the game, but from the majority of the contest, I'm thinking they're losing, especially on the last possession, but it was just an amazing emotional roller coaster again, getting to watch with the kids down in the man cave this time we had Declan. Jalen was with me because it was one of those

days where the wife's like, you know what, just take the kids. I'm going to watch a hallmark movie and get some laundry done. I don't need anybody in my way. So I was watching football slash baby sitting. Oh, they could have been abducted and maybe I wouldn't have noticed because I'm so lucky to game. And the final play, they don't understand football the way we do. They don't know what a tie is. You know, they don't, but so they're confused like what's going and daddy's like punching the air and I'm screaming morons, morons, we beat morons. And they're like, who's a moron? Like they weren't even as much as I call them the giants, morons, the commanders were, I had to sit down and explain to them. They tied, but they didn't know. Do we celebrate this daddy or Uncle Don, or are we upset? And I'm like, no, we're happy because we got out of the dodge and didn't lose a game. I'm sure the reaction for the Peter Rosenberg's home was the complete opposite. I, well, I was, I didn't want to say more on myself, but yeah, I had, but I had the baby with me

and so I was actually being quite calm and not as I'd kind of already given up on the game. So in a weird way, while the end blew my mind, in some ways, I wasn't as angry as I would have been in many other circumstances, because when you guys had the ball with a few minutes left over time, I already was resigned to the game is completely over. They blew a game in which, I don't know, guys for three quarters, it was just clearly a commander's way like there was us. And and we won't even talk about the mainst what was originally would have been the storyline. Jaden Daniels looked just fine with the brace. The Giants defense did a great job dialing it up to contain him, but that kid is really damn good still. That would have been the storyline. And instead the storyline is a the Giants come back and then b the single dumbest piece of coaching. Maybe we've ever seen in a football game. And I, we've been talking about this a lot. And I know all of things to say about it. I'm not going to get up here and lie to you guys and say,

I don't have any disappointment in Jaden Daniels. Of course I do. It's a time and place thing. He is way too heavy a player to make that mistake. He is he is always struck me as a sharp kid. So I was very disappointed in that moment. But all I'm thinking about is they wear a headset. When I'm watching this casual huddle and I know there are no time outs and the time is dwindling. Guys, let's just play a game. It was 50 seconds after the Rashad White run up the middle, right? There's 50 seconds left. I see Jaden casually go to the huddle. Even if they had let it run from 50 to 25 at that point, the coordinator could go, Jaden, spike the ball right now. Are you forgetting? We don't have a time out? Go spike the ball. And they could have spiked it guys with 17, 18, 20 seconds to spare. So what is happening? I need someone. I watched Dan Orlovsky talk. I watched

Michael, Michael Irvitz. I watched this so many different people talk. No one explained to me. What could be going on that someone wouldn't say, kid, we got to spike the ball. What are you doing? Peter, I think everybody looked at each other like you should know this. That's what I think happened there. And it's just like they all expected that each guy was going to just do the right thing. And no one took control. That goes to the head coach. The quarterbacks to CEO, he's in charge of the offense. He's supposed to know what he's doing there. But he clearly did. And also the giants were smart too. Because once they saw that he was going to run, they laid on him, got up. One of the linemen like stepped on the ball so the referee couldn't touch it right away. Like there was a lot of little clever things going on. In the end, if you're a giants fan, you looked at that game and you said, we have John Harbaugh and they don't. Simple as that. Dan Quinn still is undefeated against John Harbaugh's head coach. But that felt like a win for it from a giant perspective down 14. And now

look at the division and where they are. I mean, I'm telling you, man, this might be too soon. But they are set up. And this division is theirs for the taking this early in the season. Well, we'll see. But I think what you're seeing is that this is going to be a fun season. Whether they make the playoffs win the division, they're going to stay alive in this thing. And then they're not going to go away. They're going to be a pain into butt whoever does win it. That's for sure. And they're well coached, donnie. But they're well coached. And that keeps you in every game. See, that's what's so underrated about coaching. You know, people start fantasizing about, oh, we're going to win a Super Bowl. We're going to the playoffs. Good coaching keeps you in games. Good coaching doesn't have meltdowns. Good coaching doesn't get embarrassed. You might not win all the time because it still takes being more talented and having things break your way. But you know you're going to be in every game because you've got to coach that just as good as anybody else on the other side of the field. And that's a good thing to have. That's something that a giant's haven had since Tom Conflin. But as far as what happened on the final play, guys, you know, the speculation, did they think they had an extra timeout? Did they think they were given three timeouts and over time instead of two? Well, here's why I don't think anybody thought there were

any timeouts because not one player tried to call timeout during that whole time. So if they thought they had a timeout, someone on the field would have tried to call timeout, right? Would have pulled a Chris Weber. Yeah. They didn't do it. So I think they all knew that's why I kind of, I put it. It's there's only two people to blame, right, Peter? It's Quinn and it's Daniels. Those are the two people that are at full. It's Quinn for not emphasizing to the quarterback or coming up with a play that was a failsafe of quick few yards or throw it away. What made him improvise, Peter? That's where I think he's more to blame than the coach because at some point, you got to let the player go out there and play. And I don't think it's on the table that Quinn's going to think that his quarterback who might be only in his third year, but played in a championship game. Is going to try to freelance and make a play with and let the time waste away. Maybe it's just as simple as he had a brain fart. I mean, honestly, I mean, sometimes the dumbest thing is the reason,

but wouldn't that be it, Peter? Which is why no one can explain it. So you may be right, but that's why I keep going back to the coach because if Jaden was having a brain fart, like he just like blanked out, they had so much time to relay the information and be like, hey, dude, just so you know what this is what we're doing. No, they had no time, Peter, because that last play, but then he starts to make a run for it. What can you do with your head coach? You can't do anything. No, no, no, but think about it like this guys by the time they're breaking the huddle with the slowness at which he's moving. It should have all been realized. He doesn't know what's happening. It was all too slow. Well, what did you want Quinn to do? He's on the, is he screaming from the sidelines? Is he saying anything at that point? It's like, I got to just my Quinn should have been saying to blow, what are they doing? And blow should have been going, dude, snap the ball. What are we doing? Because it was just the head set off out of the head sets off.

It's off by the time it gets. What times the headset go off? I don't think you're going to center. I think once you get, once you approach the line of scrimmage, they, they turn it off because they don't want you, they don't want you, I don't, they don't want, they don't want somebody above seeing the defense and reminding that information to. So once he breaks the huddle, the mic is shut off. I really don't have a problem with any, but guys, they break the huddle I'm watching right now. They break the huddle with 24 seconds left on the back. Oh my god. So I guess, and I'll hold on, when does he snap the ball? He snaps it at 14. So you know what? It is an interesting point. 13 is absolutely plenty of time to throw a quick ball to the sideline. That is a, or just at 13. He can throw it to the sideline. Yeah. They might not have, they might not have known, they might have thought, no, we know the why he started running makes that that's the part. His choice to run there. Yes. And then not

get up with urgency. Other two things. Just stand out to me because we'll get to the giant side of this because the giants were thinking the same thing. What the commanders are realizing is we want our field goal to be the last play of the game. We do not want to leave any time on the clock if our kicker misses the field goal. So they want time to wind down. They've decided this is going to be our last play before the field goal. And the play was probably designed. All right, a quick out to the sidelines. Let's quick get five yards, something and then get out of bounds with with the seconds left on the clock. Go out there, kick the field goal. And Jaden, if it's not there, spike it. Yep. Now Peter wants, wants to mic off, wants to head sets off. You're going to rely that your quarterback is going to do the right thing. Now, should he have not said he have just kicked it? Well, I kind of understand that too because he missed an extra points. Maybe you do want to get a few extra yards there. But it sounds to me like Jaden kind of lost where he was, tried to make a play and then didn't realize how much time was left. And I don't know what happened.

But I blame him way more than I blame Quinn at some point. You got to be able to trust your players. And with no communication. And you know, Jaden went there by saying he believes that it's like with 15 seconds left on the play clock, they shut down the headset. So either way, by the time they're approaching the line of scrimmage, you can't communicate anything to him. You got to rely on him doing the right thing and he didn't. Well, I, I, we can go back and forth about who gets more. I think you made some good points. I hadn't thought of it. And then going back and watching it and seeing how much time there was, I see why they would have thought, hey, we could run a play here. And I also know as we talked about in our meeting, you know, the idea that you want to make it the last play of overtime. Guys, they were going to be kicking a 35, 39 yard field goal. I would have been just fine with no time outs left and a second down to be safe. That the second that plans with 50 seconds, you bring out the field goal unit and you kick it with 13 seconds left to win the game. I'd give the Giants 10 seconds left and over. You, we're still being too cute here. There's no time. I agree. Don't you need to be conservative like we don't have

timeouts. Just bring out the field goal unit and kick it. It's just bizarre. I mean, but you're right. And some of it is clearly on jaden. But I mean, this is, guys, it's just like, this is why you do have to feel good if you worry. Giants, and that was literally a game that you got the better outcome than you should have solely because of coaching. Yeah. The commanders had more takeaways. They had better quarterback play. They had their their their weapons were just as good because the neighbors was really good. But so is McLaren. All things equal. The commanders should have won that game except John Harbaugh is better than Dan Quinn period. I thought the adjustments of the Giants made offensively. I thought the adjustments of blitzing late in the game. I think turned it around. I really I thought I thought it shook up Daniels. I think it really swung momentum the Giants way. I thought that was very strategic. This is the second straight week. I thought the the pivoting the Giants coaching staff did as the game went on. Help them win the game. Now before we get to the calls, this this has been debated. And I really want to get everybody's opinion on this from the

Giants side of the ball. Giants are trying to do the same thing. They want to run as much clock as they can and get as close as they can because their field goal kicker had missed three field goals. And in overtime, missed a 46 yard field goal. So the decision was to let Scadabo get some extra yards try to milk the clock. Many people believed after Scadabo had gotten that first down. Why not just kick? I'm not kicking in the 40s. He missed that 46 yard field goal badly. He's he's he's a younger kicker. This is Mort Anderson. Okay. I don't know if he's going to be able to shake it off. I didn't have a problem in continuing to to run work the clock. Get as close as you can for the field goal. What did you guys think? I didn't think there was an issue there. The only issue was that and Scadabo admitted this after the game. He was crushed after the game. And he admitted that he was trying to get extra yards because he that's what he is. He fights for every extra yard and if I can get one more, I'm going to do it. And that's what it left him vulnerable for getting that ball punched out, which is what happened. And he was mad at his mill for it and said, I can't do that. And even

Harbaugh said, yeah, the idea was just to get a couple more yards. But what you're supposed to do is go straight forward and fall down. There's there's no you don't turn. You don't try to pit nothing. You just straight down. You get what you get and you fall right down. And he didn't do it because he got greedy. He had two great runs just before that and was probably feeling himself. So that was his I think that was a player mistake. That was not a strategic mistake by the giants. Later. I'm with I'm with you. Yeah, my bad. I'm the my my my my baby's screaming bloody murder. So I'm muting when I'm not talking. My my thought is you want to keep getting closer. Both of these kickers were struggling. Giant's there's no there's no give me yesterday on a wet field with the kickers. As you pointed out, no Morton Anderson, no Gary Anderson, no Pamela Anderson. And then there was no one who could assuredly put that ball through. So you got to try to get yardage. It's it's it's off play. I mean, I guess you could say you should have gone down faster. Guys,

we talked about this all the time. I'm amazed the ball doesn't get punched out on every play. It's so good at doing it. I mean, I got to rely. And as far as like who you're going to run the ball with, we'll scatter. Who's built to get those extra yards. Single Terry was an active. Obviously Tracy's had his issues. Fumble in the football. And Harris lost yardage every time we touched the ball during the game. That's the one thing you didn't want to do was lose any yard. So I didn't have any problem. I didn't even occur to be while it was happening. I kept thinking, yeah, try to get closer. He didn't come close on that 46 yarder guys. Like and then it's raining and the fields wet. And I I want to have a problem. If if if if player mistake and listen, if they kick the field goal there and he misses it and gives them a minute and a half at like their own 35 yard line and they lose the game, everybody's going to kill them. Why didn't you try to get closer? You got to trust your players not to make a mistake. And I know scatable hasn't technically lost the fumble this year, but he has he has lost the ball. But they but he talked about it.

Harball that they were they were practicing with heavy balls. They were practicing with web balls. They were totally prepared for that moment. And the player just made a mistake. At some point, you just got to trust the players are going to execute. And you also use this as a learning experience that didn't cost them the game, right? Maybe it cost them a win, potentially cost them a win, but it didn't end up costing them the game. But he's got to learn from it because this is going to come up again because what you said, they're going to use them in these situations to get one more yard or whatever it is. Yeah, and he's got to be smarter than that. And obviously work against Dallas. We're there able to milk the clock down. So there was a history there. And I think in a sense that's what they were trying to do. Let's just keep getting closer. Let's milk the clock and let's kick a chip shop field. Go get out of dodge. Didn't work out. Let's get to your calls quickly because we're only on till five because of the baseball 1 800 9 39 3776 Victor and Beth Page disagrees. You're on ESPN, New York. What's up, Victor? Well, you guys kind of stole my thunder about not kicking the ball at the end of the game for the Giants. But I was thinking since that's

that was the situation with the kickers, right? Why didn't they do that screenplay to neighbors, which they did a little bit earlier in the game that neighbor's dropped and he was going to be totally free to go down. You know, they should have tried that at the end, you know, in the rental. But the one more thing on the you think I don't want to throw the ball. Do you think I do not want to throw the ball there, man? No way. No chance of my throwing a football in that situation with the weather the way it was. Anything can happen that could turn that thing around. You saw that over time. It was a mess. No chance you're throwing the football there. But it's James Winston. I'm not throwing the football in that situation, especially in a flat like God. And do you so where would make a game in a half hour and a half? How does that work with the time? Thank you. It does get very. That's a good question. And believe me, they'll be the tiebreakers are going to be crazy. But but here's the thing. There's still going to be it's really about the least amount of wins of the least amount of losses. So that's going to help the Giants in a tiebreaker.

And listen, whoever wins that last meeting between the commanders and the Giants if they end up tied, you know, that'll be the tiebreaker. So it'll figure itself out. Listen, I don't want to get on Victor that hindsight 2020. Yeah, you know, Cam fumble the ball. So let's try a screen. Well, they tried to screw with neighbors. He dropped the ball. If he does that again, well, now the clock stopped. Right? Yeah. So he gets a finger on a basket. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, forget. I don't want to take that. Well, I don't forget. And don't forget. Don't forget. They had just had the brilliant pitch to scatter, which was their best run of the day. Oh, my God. Right? Like they it was a back breaking game ending first down from scatter. They felt really good with him at that point. It I had no issue with the play call. It just it happens. It happens. It does. It happens. What doesn't happen is on the commander's side of it. That's not supposed to happen. But players do make physical errors. And he made a physical error. Let's go to Tony on Stan Island. You're on ESPN New York. Hey guys, the some at some point, as you said, Don, the players have to execute the play.

And they had said goes off. And Jaden Daniels, we had clear instructions on not getting tackled in bounds, not getting tackled on them. Not being sacked. It was if the play was to throw it to the flat. If the man is wide open, throw it to him. He can get out of bounds. The man is not open, throw it over his head. The clock is stopped. And so I think Dan Quinn is the best thing he could have done in hindsight is just despite the ball with nine seconds. It was 14 on the clock and running. It was four on the play clock, which would have ran the clock down to about 11 10 seconds at a spike. You would have left the Giants nine seconds. Is he trying to kill more time? Yeah. It's trying to kill more trying to make that he misses the field goals. See, I see Tony. I used to with the Giants are doing because you don't want to live leave him over a minute. But we're starting to get down to like your own 35 with nine seconds left. You're talking about you're talking about a Hail Mary. You're talking about the Giants. I know time out. Giants had no time out. So there was nothing they can do. So you're worried about the standard ban play working. Yeah. The only thing I'll push back on the collar is I don't see how the entire sports world is talking about what was said. And he just said

Daniels had clear instructions of what to do. How do you that's the problem? Because you're assuming the ball. Yeah, you're assuming that because that that Jaden ran with the ball. And so that must have been an option that he thought was available. And no, no, there was zero chance that should have been an option available. Right. But just because that should have happened doesn't mean that did happen. Right. Right. And everybody's protecting their quarterback. Every protecting their head coach. And I'll love. We'll ever get the truth behind that one hundred nine one nine three seven seven six. Here's the lay of the land. Because again, we're getting out of five o'clock because of the Dodgers brewers game two. Your calls. We're also at four thirty. Still going to do a binge because it was a crazy week. Five. Yeah. It's going to continue tonight with the Rams and the Bills. So it should be a lot of fun. But let's line up the calls. We'll get to the jets as well. They did what they had to do. They won a game. Was it ugly? Yeah. Well, that's how they're going to win games. But they found a way to beat the Browns. And I'm sure somewhere the Miz is crying. Don Hahn and Roosevelt just getting

started here on Monday. Who sucks. Yes. BN New York MSG. Hey, and it's all about here. I want to tell you about rings and I had a project on my house. I'm sure Yankee fans are chomping to the bit to watch this one with the rays taking on the guardians. I don't think I think Alan's good. But we're talking about the giants, talking about the jets. I thought the jets did what they had to do guys. It was ugly. Yeah, the browns gave it to him on the special team's

mistake on the high snap. But the jets offense, I wouldn't say it clicked, but it got the necessary points. I thought they ran the ball well. They did what they had to do. And again, it's good to look ugly. But guys, this is how the jets are going to win. You know, they're going to lose ugly. They're going to win ugly. And we'll just see if it's enough games to save Alan's job. But Aaron Glence job. But you know, this is what Alan's doing. Okay. I know Alan's more than okay. I need to say my job though, because I mean, you know, look, what you said, Don, is how I felt that the jets fan following that game. And can we stop having the jets and giants play at the same time? This is not optimal for viewing. It really is annoying because both games actually work compelling in their own right. And the back and forth trying to keep up with both. I did DVR, the jet game just to make sure like I wanted to watch it, watch it. But at the sea, you want to see it live. So enough of this one o'clock same time New York thing. But it, I don't know if it's, if it answered any questions about the coach and we need to have those questions answered by the

end of the year. But it did tell me a lot about the group and the team and how the tournament they are to just put away the whole same old jets thing. They are not buying into it. The Demiro Davis talked about it after the game. So you know, in the room, they are very well aware of this thing. It has become a topic of conversation among the players that they're trying to kill this thing. But they still, you know, they still were benefited by whether they were benefited by the Browns are not what their records said they were. They're benefited by the fact that you know, I had another good game and it mattered and that Garrett Wilson is an absolute stud. Let's be an absolute stud. So they got to win. They were supposed to get scheduled to get an easier. But this was a game they had to win. This was that proverbial must win early in the season. And they got it for better or for worse. I wonder Peter how many people are affected by the jets and giants playing at the same time we are because we got a job to do. But in the old days as a giant fan, I wouldn't care. I just watch in the giants. And I'm sure Alan wouldn't care. He'd

just be watching the jets. So is this just a media thing or are people kind of aggravated that they they have to sacrifice watching one of the other locals? Well, I think there's a few there's obviously people like us. But more importantly, there are fans who are just very dialed into football care about the local other local team because they live here. They have friends who root for that team. They just pay attention. But then guys, what about like the bigger family situations? Like you grew up in a house like Alan's where you had Yankee fans and met fans, right? You're telling me that there aren't households where people all like to get together do Sunday dinner. They do a whole thing. Half the family's jets fans, half the family's giants fans. And they used to do a one o'clock and four o'clock situation. And now it's just this annoying. It was so annoying. I tried my best. But like I had to go back and watch the highlight after because you can only keep up with so many crappy games at one time. And I was focused on my crappy game, right? Not the other crappy game. But I because I 100% agree with Alan when he said it, we got to stop with these teams playing at the same time. And then I thought like, is that something other people are worried about?

You know, I we care because we want to be able to you're right. I consume everything. But there are things you're going to miss. Yeah. And it's crazy how all these one o'clock games they seem to go to half time at the same time. They seem to have the commercials at the same time. It is it is kind of crazy that there is a lot to miss. And even any of you invested in two TVs, you only can watch one at a time, right? You can kind of look back and forth. But it's really difficult to consume both of them equally when they're on at the same time. Let's get back to the busy calls at 1-800-939-3776. Let's talk to Steven Brooklyn. You're on Don Hannah Roosevelt. Hey guys, first time long time. So he is my point. I'm watching the game. My two sons. I got a 13-year-old who was a razor, a baby, a safe fan. And I got a Ravens fan next to me my 18-year-old. Oh, we're talking about Hannah. The time doesn't matter. We both agree. As soon as they got the first down, you could see that they were rolling at their hands trying to get the ball away. If you

pick the field goal, the game is over. They don't get three minutes to play the game. They didn't over. Yeah, but what if you miss? What if you miss the field goal? You're making it seem like it's what she is. We saw extra points. We missed. We saw that he missed the 46-yard field goal. It was not even close. I'm glad you had confidence. I certainly didn't. Yeah. I just think I've seen enough 58 years old. I see that enough bad time. If you did a list tomorrow, guaranteed that Giants would be on two of those things that happened in the worst minutes of a game. They would make that list. You just had to end it. You had to give them no more practice. Let me just see what you're saying. Cam should not have had one more run. They should have kicked it. Absolutely not. If I tell you in the context of the plan there is just simply take the ball and just push forward a little more and fall down. Don't try to just do what you do. Be a battering ram and don't try to

outrun anybody. Don't try to make anyone miss. Just go straight down. You don't think that that's still like sound advice. I think Alan, my gut at that point was the way he were grabbing at the ball. A sunny style sunny 1000 was one of the guys that was trying to get all game. Yeah. I understand that's the but that does not excuse the fumble. But what are the percentage chances? Here we are. Living in an analytic world. The chances of Cam fumbling. Chances of the kick being missed. And to me the odds of the kick being missed were greater. He had missed the 46. So I must fumble the missed two. Cam is the only goal that's running the field is awful. The wrong guy had the ball. Cam is fumbled and every game the last three games one time. I think it's hindsight is 2020 man. He fumbled the ball so it's hard for me to convince you that they did the right thing because the wrong thing happened. But I can under I always the opposite. I'm sitting there going I said we got to get closer. We got to get closer. I guess what would have been

like a 42 43 yard field goal after the first thing is the first down ticket to what the 24. So what is that a 42 43 yard field goal? Three yards farther. He missed right off the bat. So I'm thinking we got to get closer. We have to get closer. I understand. You need to get it. You need to get it inside his hook range because he's been hooking all day. Right. You get it close enough. You can overcome. It could be all right. Peter. You're at the new analytic called hook range. I love it. The hook range. Yeah. You never heard of the hook range. But love for the hook range. You know the caller is saying you don't have to leave any time. We understand the rules of overtime. It's if he misses it. I don't want to leave too much time. It's a minute and a half to go. If he misses the field goal. I'm giving Washington over a minute and pretty decent field position because again it's not the it's not the line of scrimmage. It's where the spot was. So I'm leaving the ball. What would that be like the 32 yard line, 33 yard line with over a minute to play even with the no time outs. That's plenty of time for them to get in the field goal range. I'm glad he was confident he

was going to kick the ball. But he had missed three previous and missed the 46 yard in overtime in the same direction. And I don't know. I mean, maybe John Harbour looked at its kicker in his his pale face looking scared to go out there. I don't know. But giving the ball to camscat boot to me. It's it's a no brainer. Honestly. Yeah. All right. He fumbled. I get it. But I still think he was the best option. He got him down there. He just he was a little too hyped up. But he lost the ball. I'm telling you, I thought he was feeling himself after those two runs. And I think he admitted that after the game. And I don't think he was able to give a ball to Harris. I agree. I agree. Tracey had been unreliable this year and losing the ball. Single Terry was an active. So it's funny. We have one caller who said we should have thrown it. And then another caller said it should have just kicked it. I so no one likes that they took one more run at it. After the kid just ripped off two runs. Well, they've got a benefit of seeing it didn't work. So they will in a court of law. They win. And by the way, this is the big blue report brought to you

by King's Hawaiian because you saw the result. But I could tell you a few plays earlier. The possession before I saw the result of a 46-yard field goal. And they showed the replay. He his head was down the second. He kicked it. It wasn't even close. You know it. If he hits the crossbar Peter or something, I'd say, you know what? Give him another shot. But I and he's been great all year. He had missed all year. But he missed three times in that game in the slop. The reins coming down. I'm sorry. These people who think that it's just a it's a it's a lock field goal to me. To me, it's more like the other one. It's not going to fumble the ball. And that's the big blue report brought to you by King's Hawaiian. King's Hawaiian best slider in football. 189.193.776. Brooks is in Stanford. You're on ESPN New York. Hey, good afternoon fellas. What's up? I got a question. I thought in the end of the day, I had a specific guy who will tell you the time.

Like don't they have somebody to tell you about one of the stylized up in the booth. Yeah. Most of them just have to be in the barn. Yeah, he should be fired. No. Well, there's also a thing called a war board with a huge clock on it that tells you the time. Right. Right. He's actually. He steps the ball. It's right. Yeah. And I got a and I got a and I got a talk. James. He has too much of his James experience. There's two reasons of that. If he's like everybody's a happy, go-go, go-go, to God. Well, you look in the eye yesterday. It was nothing but game-paces. It's time to go. Yeah, definitely, definitely like it. They put out on the whip. I don't need to love. And you put McCartney when you were just starting to roll. I understand that. A McCartney just to hand off. He looked like he was doing that. Yeah. He ain't wet. The McCartney thing was not cute. It never worked at all. Yeah. No. They were trying to create an option there because McCartney can run out of the

James is definitely not as mobile as it was. But yeah. But that's not to me. If that's him, he's not James. And you start seeing them. They're bringing this kid in now. Did they put him in the place? I got to dial it up. Yeah. He was in that second half. Yeah. That's what he's been doing. He was a lot. They experience with James with a good experience yesterday. Actually, the week before as well. He's getting too much fracked, I think, man. He's a ball. He's doing his thing. I like him. He's in his way. I ain't going to look at him. He is broke. Yeah. That's it. Thanks for the call. Donnie, you were saying this before the show that you really like James Winston, don't you? I think he's a good teammate. I think he's I know he's entertaining and kind of goofy, but you could see how desperate he wants to win. How players rally around him. I like him. I know what he is. I know he's not going to take them to a Super Bowl. I know he's never going to live up to the expectations of the first overall pick. But for what he is, I like it. And Jordan Ron was on. I think he was on Dan Show Saturday.

And he said, expect McCarthy to be in some packages during the game against the commanders. And he said there was there were packages that they were going to use him the week before against Arizona. They just never got to it. So this is something that Maggie's been itching to do. Hopefully he stops because it doesn't work. But the one thing we saw both on the way Winston's played the last couple of weeks and just McCarthy looking like he's not game ready. We're nowhere. It's close to replacing Winston with JJ. Not nowhere close. And as long as they keep winning in any way, shape or form, he's not going to see the field until he's ready. And by that time the season will either be over and it will matter. Or they're going to be in the thick of this thing. And the last thing you want to do with that point is make a quarterback change. So I think it's James the rest of the way. Yeah, I mean, the Jamest Experience yesterday was not terrible. I do have to give some credit, to Dan Quinn for the Jamest Experience. Because if you guys go back and look at what the commanders are running defensively, and Doronte Jones, the coordinator, they for a guys at half time,

did you see the stats on what the commanders had held the giants to in the first half? Yeah. I mean, there was nothing going. And the second that team gets a big lead, Dan Quinn goes, Oh, I know how to handle this. Did you not see my Super Bowl performance? And all of a sudden they get soft. And James looks like a different guy altogether. So while yesterday's experience was good. And by the way, neighbors is turning into exactly who you hope to do it again, which is a great feeling, like least fantastic. I don't know if you guys saw the, I don't know if you guys saw the the all 22 look that I just sent you to your text of the likely touchdown. If you could explain what the commander's defense was attempting to do on the likely touchdown, someone let me know. Why aren't they? Why aren't they doing a lot of heavy blitz and the giants were picking it up and doing a much better job in the second half on it, because it was so much one on one going on. I thought in the second half, it looked like they went to a prevent for a lot of it. They looked really soft. They got thrown underneath. They blitzed and they just got caught one on one. Well, that one, there's just no, but Don, where's the one

for a one on one? You have to have one. There's no one. He just he's literally alone. Middle. Yeah, he was in the middle open. And then the not. And by the way, the fumble, that that that's that rules crazy. Isn't it another punch out? But because it crossed the line without his knee touching it ends up being a score. That was such a close play. I don't want to get on the broadcasting of it all, but at that moment, because again, you got to go to break in the replay. To me, I it felt like he had crossed the line. Yeah. And so the question was going to be did he fumble, I got I know he fumble the football. And I know it was recovered by by the commanders. Yeah. And then they come back and like touched down and I'm like, oh, as if maybe the giants had recovered the fumble. I'm like, no, show me the damn the the plane. Because I think it crossed the plane. That was really the only thing in question. And he did. He got more than half the football across the plane. So watching in a real time, I thought that was really the only question. Yeah. He clearly fumbled and clearly Washington and recovered. The only thing they were replaying to see is if he crossed the line. And then when you finally saw an angle, he definitely was on camera.

Right. That's how you see it. Yeah. I'm not going to be I'm not going to be that guy today because my team deserves to be eviscerated. So I'm not going to be that guy. But like this is like the second we can at least watch my game where there's such a game altering play. The the pass interference on the interception. Yeah. Literally. And that was game over. No game on in well one moment. I will say I didn't understand. Vilma saying that he's not touching him when he's clearly touching him. No, that's not. Now was it there wasn't enough for a flag is a different story. But there's a lot of clutching grab going on there. And Vilma's like he's not touching it. What do you mean he's not touching this hands are all over. No, there was a tug. But it was that's guys. They got you right. They can't play with the receivers unless they tug. That is the only hope you have to stay in front of an NFL receiver. There's going to be some they have to have a more clear line of what that is

because that was a beautiful pick. James threw it right to Robertson. It wasn't because of the there was a lot of inconsistency. I say the jets had it. The jets had a couple two on on fair catch. They got they got they got they got hit no call. Then the jets got involved in a hit and they were given a flag and Aaron Glenn was losing his mind on the officials after. Well, we'll get into that. Hey guys, Jamie and JC from Burona, New Jersey. First time long time. We love you guys. We love your show. Thanks. We were just talking about it. I mean, you understand why the giants were running in another play because they had to get as close as they could. But for the Redskins, it was sub-deaf. All they did needed to do was kick the field goal. Games over. So why run the play? Well, I think they were hoping to have as little time as possible. I think everybody was freaked out. But what happened? You did an Eagles game in that Eagles game. And we've seen it. This is the second time that we've seen teams exchange field goals in what the final like 10 seconds of a game. So they're afraid if we leave like 10 seconds and we miss this because where was a lot of scrimmage Peter? I'm trying to remember where on that on that second downplay for Jaden. I think there are 24. All right. So you're going to give the ball the giants, the ball, maybe the 32, 33 yard line with 10 seconds left or eight. And listen, it can be a hail. Mary, we were just talking about the past interference as a defensive hold to get called. I mean, Banks got called for

a defensive hold. And again, I in the replay showed he didn't even touch the guy. You know, you were talking about a pass interference in the jet brown game. A little tug on the shoulder pad. And that was enough to call a pass interference that also wiped away what would have been a turnover. So I can understand in the perfect world, let's have the kick come as time expires. So there could be no answer if he if he misses the kick. And I think it was really that. And the fact they're freaked out about the weather, guys. I wasn't there. But if it was anything like it was in New York, man, it was an awful day. Yeah. Awful. And I just you run the risk of a bad snap. You run the risk of they're just they're just trying to make sure that it's the last play. Did they have to? I guess in hindsight, no, because they botched it. But you can't tell me it wasn't in the back of their minds, guys. I'm just I just keep trying to figure this out. I have watched it a thousand times. And what do you do this to? I know. And I'm what I'm reminded by a tweet. You know, now the algorithm is just showing me other like angry commanders fans and media people. And someone reminded me of week one against

Philly. And I told you guys, I've liked what David Blow has done. You're familiar with the worker David Blow. Yes. And I've liked a lot of his play calling. He's done some interesting stuff. But then I think about week one against Philly that last two point conversion. Remember, they tried to run a shovel pass to like the tight end John Bates. And I was like, wait, you didn't go McClore or digs with the two point conversion. You thought John Bates, that's an interesting choice. And now you're sitting here going in this spot. You ran Jaden Daniels under center to try to throw something out to the tight end and the flat. Like is that through and then but then I end up watching the play and I go, why is nobody hustling back? Like they can't have known the whole team must have thought they had a timeout. It doesn't. But there's too many things happening at once. None of which makes sense. But I'm just but like I said before, Peter, if they think they have a time out, then why didn't anybody try to call time out when Daniels was tackled? Nobody did. So were they jogging back just assuming they were going to spike it? So the guys that jogged back,

did they did they just think that the call was going to be we're going to spike it and kick it though it doesn't matter? Yeah, I get but again, that just must also be lack of awareness. Because if that's the case, you should know you're sprinting back the second to play ends. They wouldn't have made it in time anyway. But I just do suit. I'm saying I can't be said. All these different things being wrong. But that's also the problem, Peter. Don't draw up a play that's going to have bodies be that far away from the line of scrimmage where they're not going to be able to get back if Daniels gets tackled line of scrimmage. That's the problem. This why it always circles back to Daniels. Everybody must have assumed the play was not going to be him scrambling around trying to buy time that there was never going to be an issue of them running out of time because he was going to throw the ball away. But if you even go look at the out to Ben Senate where he where he ran the the play, there's no guarantees getting that about. Look, I'm looking at it. He's seven yards from the boundary. If he catches the ball guys, there's a very good chance. One of the giant's line

backers tackles them in balance and the game ends. Like it none of it makes none of this makes sense. But like I said before, kick the field goals. The only thing that makes sense. That's the only thing that exists. Well, it was a time that was there. And then, but Peter, if they thought they had a time out, wouldn't somebody who thought they had a time out call time out, especially Daniels, you would think Daniels would immediately look up at forgetting tackled time out. He would have jumped right up at immediately. He didn't jump out. He didn't do it. No, he got up slowly. Made no sense. None of it makes sense. That's why nobody can explain it, Peter. You're waiting for somebody to give you a rational explanation. And I think the rational explanation is there is no rational explanation. You guys remember last year, like Don said, do you guys remember last year? I'll tell you on the other side, there was something very similar that happened with another team last year.
