Hillel Slovak: Red Hot Chili Peppers' Forgotten Genius

Born in 1962 in Haifa, Israel, to Holocaust survivor parents, he moved to the U.S. as a young child and grew up in Los Angeles. Slovak met future bandmates, Anthony Ketus, Flea, and Jack Irons at Fairfax High School. Teaching Flea to play bass and blending funk, rock, and reggae into their style.
