Now let me say good afternoon to my colleagues. Let me start with Luke Lamry. Just some words for brother Luke.

That's really good. I thought that was good. You're welcome. I'm here all week, maybe. I wonder what kind of stand-up committee. Now you wouldn't do that. You wouldn't do it. I have toyed with several times. I remember one year I set a goal and I just I chickened out. I was going to go to open Mike open mics at comedy clubs and just get up there and try. I think you could do it. I think I could do it. I think I can give you 15. 10. I think I can give you a good 10. Of stand-up comedy? Three quick stories. Three quick stories. What stories would you tell? They would involve you, of course. Chris Mary producer.

Producing laughter. Joy. You are something else, buddy. Brody. That's a new one. Brody. Bro and buddy. Dig it. Brody. At that to the moniker at the beginning of the show. Chris for David D Wayne, little buddy. Yeah, dig it. Brody. Anyway, I thought about going number by the way. The phone number is 865, 855. 8255. I just want to make sure you remember there. If you catch me getting the phone number wrong, I've already decided that I'm going to send you and your wife and kids on an all expense paid trip to Gatlinburg for the weekend.

Sweet. You catch me messing up. Okay. I'm going to have a little bit of a conversation. Meals, gas allowance, put you up in a nice hotel. Don't. Don't. It's just a involuntary response. Don't. No, no, no, I got it locked in. That's why I had to write a song. We're going to song about it. Here. Never mind. All right. Let's get this thing started. We got a lot to talk about. Here we go. This is my sanctuary of hope story. I almost didn't keep my baby. I was young, broke and terrified. Then I found sanctuary of hope. They gave me a safe place. Medical care, counseling. Sanctuary of hope believed in me. They helped me finish school and taught me how to be a mom. They gave my baby a chance at life.

Today, when I look into my child's eyes, I see a future I almost lost. You can be that someone. Just $25 can help a young mother find hope instead of walking away. Give today at jhm.org slash hope or call 1855-694-9647. That's jhm.org slash hope or 1855-694-9647. Sanctuary of hope. Real help. Real hope. Sponsored by Hageem Ministries. Did you hear what she said, though? She said, my face is taped. The what? The what? She said, I can't feel my face when I'm with you. No, no, no. She said, the what? She said, the hills. Our lives with the sound of music. We got people calling the show, man. Calling the wind. They're calling the wrong line. I'm going to, you know,

and you don't take them off that. No, I'm going to take them. I'm going to take them right there. They're calling the wrong number, though. They supposed to call Contest Line. 6562-Wheem 656-2940-Sleeves. Christophe. Christophe. Christophe. There was another execution schedule for this year. Executions in Tennessee have been temporarily halted. They tried twice with Christophe. She's in critical condition. She was taken to a hospital. The witnesses that were there to witness the execution were taken out of the chamber early as they were struggling once again with this process of lethal injection in the state of Tennessee.

Now it's bringing up the whole conversation. Ironically, she was set to be executed. They attempted twice. She did not die. She, one person said she looked up and looked around and said, is this supposed to be going like this? So now she's at the hospital in critical condition, but at the hospital, they're working to keep her alive. And as I mentioned the other day, capital punishment is really difficult to me and for me.

Not because I don't think people earn as a consequence of their crime, the sentences. This is not that. This is not that at all. As I said the other day, if you ask me if capital punishment is a deterrent, I would say, I don't think so. Not for somebody that is truly out of their mind or filled with a passion or a spirit, you cannot reason with unreasonable people. It's impossible. Does capital punishment provide closure? So to the victims' families and the people that they leave behind,

does capital punishment close the circuit, close the loop, finish? Give people a sense of relief, satisfaction and the feeling that the life that was lost, the loss is equalized by the loss of that life. I think for some it might bring closure, but I'm not sure about that. Does capital punishment is capital punishment justice under the law? Under the laws of men, I would say yes. It's justice under the law of men.

Is it justice under the law of God? Especially if you believe in a redemptive God and if you believe in Jesus Christ, and if you believe in Jesus Christ such that God forgives, redeems, restores and offers eternal life to any kind of sinner. Does his grace stop at a certain level of sin and dysfunction? My understanding of the love and the blood of Jesus Christ is that it knows no limit. That when Christ died on the cross, he was dying for all sin.

All means everything, all of it. And that it gave Christ claim that the law had been perfectly satisfied and it gave him the right to, as our atoning sacrifice, cover the least and the lost, the worst, the most wretched of mankind with his righteousness, redeem them, and claim them as his own and restore them and bring them to heaven with him to live for eternity. So if Jesus were to walk into Christopikes, hospital room, how would he receive her?

Now, this is what I would get back from myself and maybe from others. I'm not Jesus. You're not Jesus. So God forgives, God restores and on earth you may suffer the consequences of your sin. These are the natural consequences of sin under man's law. This has nothing to do with God. This has nothing to do with God. God loves Colleen Slimmer and I pray for Colleen Slimmer's family and how tragic going through all of this and reliving all of this

and reliving all of the moments they are having to relive as this story is relitigated by the state's inability to execute and execution. We've fumbled a bunch of these and that creates more mental pressure on the people who have been victims of the crimes because they have to relive all of it potentially. So that's the point of tension for me. That's the point of tension for me. The point of tension for me is Christopike in heaven with Colleen Slimmer. Christopike is still alive. She's in critical condition. They tried twice. Folks, I used to be... I mean, hardcore. What changed me? I don't mind being just fully transparent.

What changed me around capital punishment is Jesus Christ. I don't like it when evil people do evil things. I don't. I want to see Him punished. Earlier in my life, I made jokes about it. I wanted to chop them up into pieces, throw them in a woodchipper, burn them to death, all of those things. My struggle with capital punishment is Jesus Christ. And I don't know what to do with that. Old Testament God, He burned them up. He drowned them. He burned them up, opened up the ground, pits of fire, and people got stoned.

I guess they were doing that in a new testament too. We went on crusades. There are wars. Ecclesiastes three. Since there's a time for everything. So that's the ultimate permission to do anything. Maybe it's not for it. I don't know. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe it than Him shall not perish. But have everlasting life. Who? So ever. If I'm God, I don't want to let... I wouldn't want to let Christopuykin to heaven. She kept a piece of that woman's skull as a souvenir. Are you effing kidding me? I can't curse on the radio station.

But... But Jesus. I know Jesus comes second to politics. I understand that. There's politics and then there's Jesus. But I haven't gotten there yet. But that's the hitch in my giddy up. This has nothing to do with liberal conservative, whatever the... I don't know. Maybe not hell. And I guess if you think about the different flavors of Jesus, because you have Rambo Jesus, and then you have... Love the little children Jesus. So it depends on what sauce you use your Jesus with.

Hot sauce or... I don't know. I don't know. But were it not for... God and Christ Jesus being so prodigal, effusive with His grace and forgiveness? Oh. What did the old folks used to say? If it had not been? What do you think folks? Do you think about stuff like that or do you compartmentalize? Do you go, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. There you go, Haller, in mixing faith and politics. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, we don't do that. We don't do that. We worship God on Sunday or Saturday, depending on who you are. That's when God gets His thing and all the rest of the week we worship.

Something else. Jesus is an accessory. God is an accessory. God is not primary. God is not... He is not sovereign. He's not... He's none of those things, Haller. We don't do that now. No, no, no, no, no, no. God has as much control over this earth as we permit Him to have. We don't do... Hey, you do the crime. We fry you. We kill you. That's what it is. And I can give you six-old testament versus two-proof it. So move along with your little bleeding heart and your little... I don't know. They'll get her killed. I mean, she will. They'll... We'll get it done. The number is 865-855-8255. Let me take some of your phone calls.

Jake from State Farmers Online. Jake, welcome to the broadcast. Hey, how formerly I still wear the khakis. But... First was relaying a story to me. It's a beautiful day. And I appreciate him sharing that. Anyway, so yeah, I wanted to kind of chime in on this on a couple things. Please do. Yeah, so, you know, during her sentence in hearing, the judge said, you will be... You will die by electrocution on January. I think it was January 12, 1997. Here we are 30 years later, right? Right. Well, and like you were saying, old testament, I mean, there's a handful of verses that you can refer to specifically related to this. And I mean, you know, man killing man, you know, it's got to be punished.

Absolutely. In Genesis 9, 6, numbers, 35, 30-31, Exodus 21, 12-14, Leviticus 24, 17. I'll kind of go into detail about that. And it could be a lot worse, right? I mean, I've been researching stuff about the French Revolution, man. And oh my God. Yeah. They were absolutely brutal. I mean, just disgusting. Disgusting. And how they treated one class and the other. You know, some of them got drawed quartered and mulled and all done. And everything else, another just got the team. But either way, you know, it's got to be punished. I will say this too. And I don't know if this has been touched on by anybody really. I've been doing research all day on this because I'm very frustrated by this. You know, everybody is on both sides of it, honestly. I see it out. Tony Carothers, the previous inmate that was scheduled to be executed earlier, I think earlier this year. Right.

And that was botched. Look this up. Doctor by the name of Mark Piler, F-A-L-L-E-R, former E-R doctor, who's now a weight loss doctor, apparently. I hadn't put an IV in somebody's veins in 13 years prior to Tony Carothers, but Tim, and so from what I understand, we spent about an hour trying to get an IV in his vein. That's unacceptable. Why is this guy back doing the same thing? And Christopher Pikes, complaining about burning under her skin, well, I'd sound like he didn't hit a vein. It's the same guy. I mean, that's what I'm, that's the, I'm seeing a lot of things about that going around. And it's just like, where are we at here? You know, I mean, if you were me, honestly, and the thing is too, you don't want to, uh, people like, you know,

vigilante justice, right? And that's the other aspect of it is because if you have a society that doesn't have faith in their institutions that are going to deliver justice for them, they're going to take justice upon themselves. You're going to have even more pay off and even more death. Yeah, and when you have societies like that, all the power concentrates in the hand of the most powerful people. And our preference is for the individual and individual liberty in this form of government. Jake, thanks for the call. Let me get Cliff in here. Cliff, welcome to the AAA tradeo experience. I just want to say I see your boy blue last night is the national court take convention before we get started. Where else? Oh man, it's great. And every little excited. So I was saying he provided some energy. So I was saying, he's great. Yeah, I had to explain to my wife who he was. I was. So I had to tell him that that he was a local voice sounded no doubt about it. He's good. He's very good.

Yeah. So and then we had to look up his, uh, his voice thing. And that was, that was smooth. His voice was very smooth. So about about this death penalty thing about that. Once again, many people have touched on it, but man has man and God has got. We have our law. We have our standards and then there's God's standards. So you know, as people will we be hypocritical? Absolutely all the time because we are people. But, um, like I said, call it said he bought one earlier. Come on. One thing about history. If you don't learn from history, you're condemned to what? Yeah. So I have to say, come on man. What's that Chris Burman? Come on man.

Yeah. All right, Cliff. Thanks for the call. I'm glad you get to see Chris blue. Coming up in about 15, about 20 minutes, Tim Burtchett in studio. We're talking about Christophe. Right now the death penalty. It's the triple a trade. It's a trade. In about 15 minutes, a congressman, Tim Burtchett in studio. Christophe is yet alive. Critical condition. Another botched execution in the state of Tennessee. It's talking about capital punishment where I am on it. Capital punishment as a deterrent. I'm not sure. Capital punishment as closure. I'm not sure. Capital punishment as justice. Maybe under the law. Right.

And my complicating factor is Jesus. So what do you think? Professor, welcome to the triple a trade. I'm a good expert. Good afternoon, how are you? Good afternoon, professor. I am a staunch individual on capital punishment. What's that mean? Too many too many people have gotten off with it. I'm not sure if they're going to get a death sentence. They get a life in prison. And the individuals that have died. Their family is getting no justice. I believe it was botched. But from what I'm hearing, the medicine that they injected in her was nothing date. Basically, it had been sitting on a shelf for a while. So that may have to be looked into. But I'm really in favor of making sure that a person that does deprive is the time. It's executed. Just like in the Bible, it's rendered to see her watch see her and render to God what's God's.

And maybe this lady will have a death bed confession and get saved. I'm not nobody's judge or jury or executioner. But I believe and rights right and wrong is wrong. Give these people closer. Thank you for the call. Beverly, welcome to the triple a tradeo experience. Hi, Beverly. Oh, hey, I'm sorry. I didn't hear the last part. Anyways, I'm this the first time I've ever done this. So I'm kind of nervous. But anyways, I just wanted to back up the talk a little bit on this. You were talking earlier about God and Jesus Christ and forgiveness and all of that. And I totally am on board with that. I'm a Christian. And one of the things I didn't hear and you may have said it. But I think one of the key parts of that is a person having remorse and asking for forgiveness. God totally is he sovereign. He's over everything. And you know, he's just as you know and from what I understand from a news thing.

I saw the other day about the monom she was talking about how this woman had not even asked for forgiveness. She had no remorse. She had shown none of that. And so I'm struggling like you are with the whole death penalty and putting people to death. I need to have been on a jury duty. I've said, you know, to myself, if they ever want me to do this, I'm going to have to step down. But at the end of the day, I'm really struggling with the fact that even though it got bots, whatever the reason is that they're trying to keep her old. Trying to keep her alive in the hospital. I just I feel like you know, the law has been put in place and we're to you know, support the law. That's a God thing too. And I don't know. I start like you do on this. It's it's it's it's complex. I saw an article that said that she has Christophe like this is has had some type of spiritual conversion that she's at peace that she has a spiritual advisor. I don't know what that means. But yeah, it's um I said that's an interesting. Yeah, I didn't know that. And I don't know if the parents, you know, family know all that too. You know, it's it's like.

I mean, I feel so bad for them because they've had to go through all this too. And I just wanted to put it out there that it's not just a matter of, you know, you get a free ticket and everything. Just anytime when you want to ask, you have to be very remorseful and really want to ask for forgiveness and be sincere about it to the Lord. I mean, he knows anyways, but you know what I mean? I just want people listening to get the wrong idea. You did a good job. Beverly, thanks for the call. Thanks. Bye. Chris, welcome to the triple a trade-o experience. Yes, sir. Thank you. Real quick. I want to say that it is not a deterrent because it is not is not utilized correctly. I mean, this woman settled on death. Where were I mean you use 30 years? What kind of deterrent is that? That's the first thing. And then the second thing to I read the Bible from Genesis to the revelations back in 86 and I was in the military. And I can't remember where they're been and I know, you know, confess that I haven't been reading the Bible like I should over the years. But I know that there was a verse in the somewhere I believe it was in the New Testament. I want to say it was in Luke.

I'm Mark and it says that there is one sin that is not forgiven and Jesus Christ says and he says that it is the spent a blossoming and back then in the King James version that says against the Holy Ghost, which is our guest today's words and other Holy spirit. It says there is no forgiveness for that. That is the one sin that there is no forgiveness for. And then there was another worse in there. I don't know. It didn't elaborate on if there was forgiveness for it, but it says that for anyone who does something to a child, it is better put them behind like a whatever a meal stone is placed around their neck and not into the ocean. Then to do something to one of these children. So only the whole thing about just forgiveness for everything in grace and everything that the boss of me, but I know is in the New Testament and that there is no forgiveness for that. So I want to throw my two cents two cents in on that. So just two two to say so. All right, Chris, thanks for the call. It's the triple a trade-o experience.
