The who? The question who can be ordained to the priesthood is a matter of faith. It goes back to sacred scripture. It goes back to our Lord choosing who the apostles were. Numerous people, and I think even Bishop Barron said this once, if our Lord wanted to ordain the ladies, he would have ordained his mother. If there was ever a woman who could be a priest if our Lord had made such provision, it would have been the blessed Virgin Mary. If women could be priests, the Virgin Mary would have been the first among them. Well, he didn't. And now we have a story from the German bishops, because it's a course. It's always the German bishops. You see, the German bishops, when they have a news website that they are very active on, the USCCB isn't this active, no other bishops conference is nearly as active as the German bishops. I'm publishing what they think.

They publish five articles a day at least on their website. And when they publish something, if it does not have a disclaimer, it's their endorsement of what's being said. It's katolish.de. This is translated from German. Their headline, the position is out of touch. Exclusion of women for ordination cannot be derived from the Bible. Oh, really. Oh, really? Why? I guess for him, the argument, our Lord chose men. And only men is not a sufficient reason. St. Paul's words about women teaching, some of the hardest words for our modern, soft ears who believe in liberal equality. I guess those don't apply.

No, this is the opinion of the scholar. No, none of that. From the article, women cannot become priest or bishops in the Catholic church to this day.

However, according to bookum based biblical scholar Thomas Sotin, this norm cannot be derived from the Bible. Sotin called the central argument still put forward in support of this that Jesus Christ can only be represented in these offices by a man absurd on Friday and Munich. This position, he said, has nothing to do with the biblical text. The leadership model described in the later letters of the New Testament quote, pays homage to the spirit of the age when it excludes women. It says Sotin. Aha, you see what he's doing? The spirit of the age is a warning. We're always warned to stay to not be sucked up into the spirit of the age. It's a warning. So here he's saying we are sinning. We're being whipped up, taken off by the spirit of the age. If we defend the church's ordination practices. If, according to these sources, a man was to head the local church. It was not about a principle that was valid once and for all, but simply about

acceptance in the public sphere of the time. The theologian made his remarks at a conference of the Catholic Academy, but very marking the 30th anniversary of Cardinal Reinhard Marx's Episcopal Consecration. The conference entitled the Sonato Bishop will run until Saturday and explore how the leadership role of the church can be reconceived. The leadership role of the church can be reconceived. Do you love how the sonatollist are just very open about wanting to reconceive, meaning change the role of the church in various things, including its leadership role in the world. Marx was involved in the preparations that will also deliver a lecture himself. Soding advocated for the creative development of the Catholic bishopric, the creative development. In other words, just changing it. Following the lines of development already found in the Bible. This requires ongoing structural reforms, ongoing means permanent never-ending changes, which in principle can never truly be completed. However, the process continues to suffer from the

fact that quote, the cultural conditions of that time are seen as normative limitations today. The criteria for a bishop is laid out, for example, in the first epistle to Timothy and the New Testament are not met by a single Catholic official today, said the biblical scholar. Taken literally, a bishop would have to be married and a good manager of his own household, an educator of his children, and obedience, and propriety. He was fascinating. He contradicting himself here. ongoing structural reforms that can never be truly completed. Sounds like a development of doctrine, argument, right? Bishops not being married, and priests not being married are part of the capital T tradition. They cannot be changed back. They can't. And the best part about it is that he's invoking that and saying, well, we're not we're violating biblical foundations by not having married bishops. When the office of bishop and the office of priest later were restricted to unmarried

celibate men was done so through the development of doctrine, and the church had its reasons for doing it, and undoing that would not solve a single problem in the church. It would actually create a whole host of other problems. I have heard defenses of the unmarried celibate priesthood from married priests, Eastern right Catholic priests, or priests who had been like Lutheran ministers and had been married, but had been given a dispensation to become a Catholic priest. They are the ones who often are the most vociferous in defending the unmarried priesthood. Because they know how much more complicated their life gets. The scholar believes it is wrong to present the then prevailing patriarchal system there it is as an immutable doctrine. However, even according to a so-called pastoral epistles, a bishop is not an autocratic city ruler, but must be a team player like a captain. He must seek advice. He must accept criticism. He must learn from others.

This man's gospel is feminism. That's what it is. And when you understand that, you understand how we got to a re-ar because the German bishops are not actually that much out of touch with the rest of the radical elements in the church. They just choose to be more in your face about it, more honest about it. Are you surprised by anything I just showed you there? I'm taking a little in the bigger picture when talking about bad bishops getting constantly appointed or the embrace of secular values, including secular models for oppression and oppressing dissenting voices. When you put that story in with the rest of these things, you see how it all fits together. They have replaced their faith with something else, politics, ideology. That which they accuse their opponents in the church of. They have replaced it all with their own ideology.
