He's average six point six yards per carry And that in college counts getting sacked and he's been sacked four or five times So you know, that's negative yardage for your so he's probably averaging about eight yards of carry basically And they have a hundred yard rusher to some talented wide receivers The coach where did this come from because they were not it's supposed to be this good They it's the third year for the coach and

4:10But he's the guy that was he just was he was the DC for The pirate oney Mike leech what when he just bumped up when Mike leech passed away No, that was the other coach the DC now is that coach who got fired. Oh really? Okay He was to coach there. They fired him as head coach and he came back Jeff Jeff Levy Jeff Levy is this coaches his third year. They had been They've said that he's been bringing in some pretty good talent But I think maybe they need the trigger man and I this that this maybe is a building process I mean they he took over a team that had only one two games and I think they work he went to his first year Then he went one five and so most people thought they were a team that's improving There's quarterbacks from like 30 miles down the road right and apparently he's You know a die hard Mississippi state fan. He really wants to be there You know he's taken ownership of you know wanting to revive Mississippi state football seems like it'll probably stay if he plays even if he plays well

5:13That remains to be seen in this particular landscape Chris Jones I asked him me and Todd were were hitting him up with questions Todd started the subject of N.I.L. and guys coming in having a check and It already making money, you know before they get here and we start talking about I said well Are you gonna give to the N.I.L. or have you been he said no, but but yes, he's gonna because we got to keep the quarterback And that's a good point because uh he's if he plays continues to play like this now their schedule The thing that's important about this gets game is vital for both teams Mississippi state schedule is awful after this game and Missouri is very much better. So This is a really important game. I think for both teams. I think the loser of this game could see a promising season Go in the wrong direction and I think Based on their play so far Mississippi state is a warranted touchdown favoriter six point favor Who's got the better win is the better win South Carolina at South Carolina? I think it was by Mississippi state or is it well at Kansas?

6:15Well, they by Mizzou they both raised Minnesota at Minnesota to The week before South Carolina. So they've got two excellent wins so far So I would say that their body of work is is better overall, but which is the better when you think are both of those games You think better than beating Kansas? Yeah, I do I do think they are unfortunately. I don't they Kansas I think is gonna struggle this year. I think they're gonna end up with a worse record than maybe their team is because I don't think they're And let's the quarterback, you know, he I don't want to divert to Kansas But he he looked better last week, but he only looked better in comparison to you know horrendous performance in the first game So I think it's a huge game You know We what we hope for Missouri is that they you know they look good against Arkansas pine bluff their impressive against Kansas Simmons was impressive against Kansas and that there was just a letdown because Troy Pretty much outplayed him I thought I mean, I thought maybe Troy deserved to win the game If they hadn't had an untimely turnover or two

7:17Missouri's had trouble running the ball on a down to down basis They've had a couple of nice big runs which has made their statistics look a little bit better But which which Simmons is it I mean, no that was true dr. Jekyll and mr. Hyde I mean he couldn't look better against Kansas and he was dreadful there right game that was that was martial Esk and there were a handful of throws where it looked like that even come out of his hand right And I was one was like almost end over end that that did not the zip He was putting on the ball in Lawrence and he's like did you is he throwing with the other hand? 8:20But I I think Missouri's gonna come play a lot better. I think that was a complete flat spot. Yeah, I got caught off Kansas I'm willing to look at it that way. Yeah for now, but I think this game will prove the point you know have Mississippi state while play you know while putting up an impressive resume so far and no question about that You know There probably no world beaters. They're likely to lose their next four games after this. So Yeah, I you can't say that when you're going on the road and you're almost a touchdown underdog that you should win the game But if you have designs on being you know a good team this year Team that's going to improve say on last year when they won eight games And this kind of mandatory that you win this game. They follow it up with two home games, but they're against Florida and Texas A&M and Then you hit the road for Ole Miss to follow so Well, the only give me left on their schedule based upon what we've seen so far now that Mississippi state has played its way up into being a top 25 team Florida's made its way up to playing into a top 25 team can tuck you in at a

Yes, Oklahoma just fell out of the polls so Arkansas is the only gives it right And so what what Curtis what do you expect them to do the rest of the way Nine games I That is that is just a gauntlet I Five and four maybe I think they're going to have to steal if there's a particularly if they lose This one they're going to steal one somewhere along along the line Um, well, I think Florida and Texas A&M at home if If they lose to Mississippi state all bets are off. Yeah, they could lose a bunch of Games, you know, that's I don't think there's much question about that But if they win and look good, you know, you would figure you could at least split against Florida and Texas A&M And you get the Arkansas win and Kentucky at home. Okay, Kentucky's better, but where will they be that then they may have lost

10:24Several games then got beat up whatever Oklahoma never scores so it's the last game Where how they play this weekend? Well not only give them a win if they win it would make me Maybe they can win one more the other so it may be a two game difference maybe only win how one other like you know One of the games it yeah, they might win an extra game if they win this weekend I may be feel better about one of the other games and and it really ends up being at a two game net if they they Take that one down you feel better about them beating an A&M or at home or even The Texas or a Kentucky at home But it lose and I think you have to see you have to start re-evaluating every game the rest of the way and That's why it's such a it's such a pivotal Match and Mississippi state is usually one of the easier stops in the SEC to play They usually don't fill the stadium up, but it's is gonna be uh You know, I think just Full house they're fired up like all the club bells they Guinness Book of world records is there for the most cowbell

Yeah 17 Big 10 and SEC we're gonna talk about this in college game day tomorrow some because It's scheduled Viewing your schedule has become far too important in college football I mean the way that leagues are so big and you know you catch a season where you've got the more home games that year Or you don't play any other good teams. I mean next year Missouri plays Look at their schedule next year on the road. You could read that off. You'll have a lot of fun with that one But like I said BYU and Tech don't play anybody some other Teams do Mississippi State plays four gauntlet games right in a row right after this So the most important thing and in candycapping any Season is looking at the schedule. Look at Kansas the schedule This is a year where they have four home games and they sold one to go to London and lost it

So you got to prove that I mean that's their only path to winning the game is to have him You know run it 28 times even at 3.8 per carry and Eat the clock on you and then you're in a tight game. So I think still think this early in the game You're just not going to shrug your Shoulders and say oh well ho hum 20 to 17 we won

So there's definitely whatever they are now. There is definitely ceiling still to be had Well one thing I think that's important about Mansor D'Alene being in and an excellent player is Do the chiefs have a home run hitter on defense? Well, when was the last time they did? Well, Chris Jones, I think you could say was Home right here. Okay. I mean he was a player at the points of his career He was one of the best at his position if not close to the best. I don't think he's that player anymore. So Who is? You know, you can make a great defense or a very good defense out of a bunch of good pros But most teams that are great on defense have some guy you really have to account for That they people game plan to get around be it an air and Donald type or a cornerback you never throw at

I don't know if the chiefs have that and maybe D'Alene could provide that is I'm not so sure that's a hundred percent important, but I'm looking at evidence of most great defenses Do have someone that you're worried about?
