Gibbens Joins Cardinals, Pats Lose Linebacker

0:00On March 28, linebacker Josh Gibbons just bounced from the New England Patriots to the Arizona Cardinals on a one-year deal. The past chose not to tender him as a restricted free agent, making him free to sign anywhere and Arizona scooped him up quick. Earlier this week on Sirius XM, Gibbons called it bittersweet, leaving New England. He shouted out Coach Raeble and the staff, saying they had an unforgettable year together, but he's pumped to join a Cardinal squad rebuilding like. The past were last season. Gibbons stepped up big on defense with 81 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. His role grew late in the year when veteran Robert Spalane dealt with injuries, making him a key rotational piece. Meanwhile, the Patriots cut Gelani Tavae loose two, leaving them short at linebacker. Officials hint they might target a young one with a top pick in the 2026 draft to rebuild that unit. Now Gibbons turns his focus to sparking a Cardinal's turnaround while New England leans on Spalane and Christian Ellis moving forward.
