It's Sophia with the N.F. Franklin with the Y, and if you're looking for some bubble gum dumb dumb podcast, then you are in the wrong place, baby. Whether I'm reminiscing on the trials and tribulations of working in the corporate world to recapping today's latest reality TV show, you're gonna want to pull up a chair and stick around. It's a good time and always 100% unfiltered. Follow and listen to Sophia with an F wherever you got your podcasts. I'm not like you are laughing. Well, I'm laughing because of the that. That's brutal. Welcome on in. Welcome on in. It's the midday show. Hugh Douglas, Joe, Julia, as we say goodbye. The 2026 was that we got a lot to get to. We'll do some Eagles later. Big game on Sunday. Scott France getting in as always. Guess the takes. But here we started to post more to the fillies who go out meekly last night to the Atlanta Braves. Look, if you want me to come on here and yell about Wheeler versus

Nola, we could do that. I think they were going to lose either way. Guys, they they were going to lose either way. Should they have started Wheeler? Probably should they have started Stubbs if they were going to start with Nola? Yes. But they were probably going to lose that game anyway. The way it played out. The fillies go down last night in a really lame way. I mean, there are two runs were just like give up runs. The Braves just gave them the Braves are blasting home runs hitting the cover off the ball. They were juicing. Yeah, it was it was a gross way to end it. And look, I you go through all the emotions, right? Like the annoyance at the way it played out, the frustration at the moves they didn't make. I'll tell you the biggest feeling though I have is we start the show this morning. I just have I have resignation because of all the years. This one feels different to me than the other ones. And of all the years, it's the most obvious to me this time. They're just not good enough. They're just not good enough. And this is because the off seasons because of Dumbbrowski because the development of players, they're just not good enough. And every October, we have a manager trying to walk a tightrope trying to get across here. And it doesn't work. They're not good enough here. They go out in three of the

Braves. It's disappointing. Good morning, Hugh, but the fillies. Hugh, they're just not good enough. And I don't know how they get good enough. But they're they're just not good enough. Good morning, Joe. Good morning, Kyle. Sorry. Good morning, Phil, it up you music. Turn me off. I know how about those Browns though. No, no, no, man. Not that's morning. Oh, get the hell out of here. Not this one. I'm trying to make you feel better. No, like I told you yesterday, not this morning. I mean, but I told you yesterday, enjoy it, Joe. You know, enjoy what? Well, I told you to enjoy the moment that we're in. Be where your feet are. Be where your feet are yesterday. I haven't want to play off this. No, but when I'm doing what are we doing? If you if I would be allowed just before you guys jump all over, are you going to do it? I told you so. I'm not, but did you miss me, by the way? No, body did a great job. But the but the reality is this, this team has progressively gotten worse every playoff appearance that they've been in, right? And as fans, and I get it because we're fans, we we have

these tremendous highs. And we have these tremendous lows. But you're okay. Yes. But given given the reality of the situation, we kind of knew this was going to happen. We just we just didn't want it to happen. Yes. Yeah, you're you're you're you know, exactly. We knew we knew that this was going to happen. Because let me tell you the reality of this year, we were rolling out the same pictures to get out of this series. Like just the reality of situations is if we would have won this series, we were in trouble. We were in we were doomed. The next year, it's a tightrope on just we can we get your life can feel overwhelming. But on my podcast from the heart with Rachel Brayton were in it together. Every Friday brings you a new story. Listen to from the heart with Rachel Brayton, wherever you get your podcasts. Holy right, that I think most of us realized they were not going to win the World Series. Right. They weren't good enough. Yes, I had I think a lot of us, including me had this hope. Can we just beat the brace right? Can I can I get another week of joy at a baseball before it's over? I you're dead right. And what hits you when it's over you is they're just not good enough.

They they're they're a poorly constructed team. Dave Dombraowski has done mostly not good with the money that he's been given. Yes. I question how much John Milton actually cares about winning a World Series. He says he does, but he lets Dombraowski do whatever the hell he wants. The fact that Otto Kim took the last at bat last night is a joke. Then the guys had a major league player and I know the game was over at that point when you could have taken the last that bad outcome would have been the same. You could have. But the reality is when you're rolling at a minor league player to take the last that out of the season, you deserve what you got. They deserve what they got. And there's a local impact. The maddenly thing will unpack the the price Harper stuff, you know, and the stars and what they do this off season will get through all that. But I'm not surprised they lost this baseball game last night. I'm not surprised they got knocked out in the first round and the truth is, you know, every year here, when this end that I've had a different feeling, I was I was proud of their run in 22 to get to the World Series. That was awesome, right? 23. I thought they choked against the Diamondbacks. 24. I thought they ran out of gas to get some mats last year. They just they weren't quite buttoned up enough and smart enough and on like did the right thing enough to beat a team like the Dodgers. This

year to me is different. They're going backwards guys. Like they're not as good of a team as they used to be. They're in decline. And there is a cliff coming. I mean, I don't know when it's when they're going to fall off it, but you could see it. I mean, if you take a step back from just the whole season, they barely made the playoffs. Their run differential was plus 15, which is basically a 500 kind of team that they won more than 500. They were 87 wins or 88 wins. But they they were basically a 500 team in terms of the run differential. Their offense was the worst in baseball by adjusted OPS, the worst in baseball. They have two hitters in the whole lineup. You feel like, are those are good hitters, right? It's Torber and Harper. Those are those guys produce two out of nine. They're starting pitching, which is supposed to be their strength. They carry two guys in the rotation all year. They're basically at a five year right most of the time to have the five. Their bullpen stinks, despite having one of the better clothes in baseball. This is not a very good baseball team. So I wanted to be happy yesterday. I wanted to be excited. I think a lot of people did like maybe they'll go on a run. Maybe to be like 22. They're going backwards. They went up 22 up 23 up 24 another fall back down. They're falling back down. And it's not good. 215 592 94.

Here, what's the emotion? I'm in to me. I'm resigned to this now. Like I they are not good enough. And until they recognize it, I'm just I'm going to tell the Phillies right now if they're listening, unless they make real changes, they're going to get worse from here. Not better. The older players aren't going to get better. They're going to get worse unless they are willing to get uncomfortable and make real changes. I mean, you could see this thing going the wrong way, Hugh, all year. And they just happen to make the playoffs by a game. But it's it's disappointing because they spent a lot of money. And we spent a lot of time watching the last five years. And it doesn't feel like they're getting closer. Does it feels like they're way. You know what, Joe? I was sitting here. It doesn't answer your question. But I'm sitting here and you asked before you ask that question. How do I feel? You know what, Joe? To be honest, I don't know how to describe what I'm feeling. But I could probably give you an idea of what it is. It's it's somewhere along the lines of I can't do this anymore. You know what I mean? Given the fact that there was there was some like this is the thing about this series. There were there were some good moments

yesterday. And then there were some moments that were telling yesterday. And some of the moments were telling from the guys that we depended on and counted on to make some plays. It was it resonated with me when when Bryson was was trucking well, Trapson or whatever you want to call it down to the first. You mean after he stood there when the ball got away and and and Krug Yale's run or whatever it is. That's telling, you know, because this is the same guy. You can't you can't have a redemption moment yesterday. In my opinion and talk about, you know, how what it is to be, you know, life lessons and how you teach the young and all this other stuff. And then I'm in a and a do a die situation. Your Trapson on the first baseline. Somebody who played the game had been in this situation before is yelling at you run. You know, he got out of character a little bit. Krug, Krug looked like he wasn't too happy to be in the booth with those catch yesterday. I mean, he didn't look too happy to be in the booth anyway. I mean, shout out to John Krug for for

being who he is. But those those moments are telling. Yeah. And now you going into an off season of of unknown off season, no, no, what's going to happen to baseball season next year. And you definitely don't know what's going to happen with this team. But you can't run it back. You cannot sail to this fan base. You cannot sail to this fan base that you are in position to make a run. You must remember this presents the bisexuals. Libby Holman was a sexually fluid blue singer. He became famous in the 1920s. And then infamous when she was indicted for her husband's murder. Later, Libby began an affair with movie star Montgomery Clifft, who had to keep his own bisexuality secret in Hollywood in the 1950s, also featuring Elizabeth Taylor, Josephine Baker, drugs or geez and of course movies. Follow and listen to you must remember this wherever you get your podcasts. You can't you can't do no one buys it anymore. No, they you know what they've done. They have they have

rung out the rag of all the goodwill like they've run it dry. The well is dry. All the goodwill that they created with 22. The run to the world series and even the 23 run, which had a lot of great memories and in citizens bank park and all those wins and all those home runs, it's gone. Yeah, they they it's gone. Like all of that stuff, all the excitement around the Phillies. And look, they had three million fans this year. If they keep this team exactly the same and they just try to pretend it's going to be fine next year. There's going to be far less people in that building. I just they they all the goodwill they built up for years that they've used it all because now I think everyone's seeing this. This team is in decline and they're just not good enough. That's the bottom line. And you know what I know like that bright that that that that Bryce Harper thing not running that is yeah, he probably need to go though. He probably you probably need to shake this thing up. You should who has to go. Yeah, Bryce. Probably to go. Hmm. You could have started with that a 10 on one. And that's it. I mean, I'm not trying to be the way to do it. It's it's like wait a minute now. Now you're getting cranked up. Yeah, Doug was getting Doug was just straightening Bryce Harper at 1010. You you got it. You got to do something different with this.

That's going to be a big one this off. Alright, Kyle, what do you what do you feel in this morning as the Phillies go out me. Klee last night. Yeah, well, it sucks. But I guess I don't have like the I'm kind of with you. Like I don't have the same anger that I think a lot of other people had and that I heard from like callers today because the writing was on the wall for this team. Yeah, like I think I've I accepted this team wasn't going to do anything a long time ago. And I had no faith in this series whatsoever. So I mean yet does suck and the era kind of feels like it's tainted now. But you know, they got a lot of errors. Well, it is. They always tainted. I mean, well, they have a lot of questions to answer this off season. And I mean, you know, you brought up the Harper thing sort of. I don't know if he's being tongue in cheek or anything. But like they have to legitimately ask themselves, you got to look at it differently, man. Well, it's like how much should we be committed to this core. I know they're old. They're locked up for a long time. But like they need to do something drastic. They do. I mean, the drastic to fix this thing because I'm it's like watching someone go off a cliff. Like or like, you know, an accent and slow motion. You see, they're

going to be a bad team soon. I'm telling you guys like if they don't make real changes, they will be a bad team soon. They're going to go from really good potential championship kind of team to an average team, which is really what they are right now to bad if they don't fix something soon to 15, 592, 9494, I don't have the anger today. I'm resigned to this. They're not good enough. I'll tell you when my anger will resurface. Whenever the hell Dumbrowski gets extended or when he speaks next week and tries to tell me while they hit 231 in the series in the Braves to 232. That's when my anger will come back. It's not Thursday. But I am frustrated baseball. Yeah, that's gonna happen. It's short series. What are you gonna do? 215, 592, 94, 94. It is the midday show. We get mad at each other man at the Phillies. Yeah, we get mad and displaced anger. A lot of that. You want might be place anger today. That depends on our own fields. Well, 215, 592, 94 94. All right, your emotion towards the Phillies today as they get knocked out in three games by the Atlanta. I don't think anyone is surprised. This happened not surprise. It doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. It doesn't mean it's not, you know, it's the end of the baseball season is always jarring right because it's six months of basically every day and then it's like a

abruptly gone. So it always hurts. It hurts even more in the postseason. I'm just resigned to who they are. I mean, it's been a full season of it. They're not a great baseball team. They're not even close. I said they got hammered it before hammered before dinner last week. Yeah, you did. They did something obnoxious. Yeah, just like we all expect them to well, actually did a few things obnoxious. I mean, Bryce made up for it, but, you know, I mean, him letting the ball go over his head and game too was a drunk. I think to do right not running out the ball to first base yesterday, kind of a drunk. I think to do a lot. They look it ended. It ended ugly. And the reality is this team's got a lot of work to do. And I don't know if they're going to actually have the guts to do it. And if they're actually going to do it. So we'll talk through it the whole off season as we go through the show today. 215, 592 94. All right, we'll get to mattingly Harper, Trey, what they said yesterday first, go to the phone lines, mat in Phoenix, so up on WIP. Hey, Matt. Hey, Joe, how are you? Listen, so I'll make this pretty quick. I think they need to make some serious changes. They need to make them quick here. So I think the right thing for middleton to do today would be have told them Browsky. Hey, skip that end of season press conference, but you're not coming back next year. I mean, they just need to show the fan base here that

there's going to be major changes here. Like there's just no way that we can run it back with the same core and the same management, the same scouting department that can't draft anyone new. So that's where I'm at. I don't know where you guys are at. I agree. I know I mad. I totally agree. I don't think they're going to do it. I'm at it. It's a good phone call. Here. That's what they should do. I don't have any anticipation. They're going to move on from Nebraska, but they should. And that would show me that John Middleton actually cares about winning World Series because I just don't think Nebraska can see what he's doing wrong here. I think Nebraska wants to win. Right. He's been a general manager forever in a lot of places. He's won before. I don't think he doesn't care. I think he's. I don't think he can see what he's doing wrong. I think that's the problem. And he thinks he's doing right. And he's not. You know, you know, it's funny. You think about it like as an older gentleman, you get to a point where you're used to doing things a certain way. Right. And it becomes antiquated. And you can tell his defiance by something that he said early on. He didn't directly come out and say this, but it was something to the effect

of the guy where, you know, I've done this before or I've won other places before. Sometimes you need to have that fresh blood or new blood in there to kind of, you know, you could do certain things your way, but you got to kind of change it as you as you progress through this because it's not like he used to be back in the day. I didn't use the perfect word antiquated. Yes. It doesn't mean he doesn't have a resume. He doesn't mean he's not. It's your whole thing. But that that's not now. It might not resonate right now in this setting. And it feels like that has been the biggest problem because you've ran this thing back since I've been here the same way. And you've added not you've at I don't want to say marginal because some of the guys that we've gotten. They've been, they've worked out well. But we've had more guys that didn't work out well as opposed to the ones that did work out with. Well, unfortunately, yes. And unfortunately, the ones that you that haven't worked out, they've been, they've been bad contracts so they can't move off them right there stuck like it's one thing if these were not guaranteed contracts, you can just cut trade turner and say, well, we're going to go. You're stuck. You know what? And you know, we, we sat here and shot up to my man, Jack,

Jackie, baseball, we sat here and talked to him yesterday, right? And he felt like he was in a good place. And I saw a tweet that he sent last night. And it didn't say a whole lot of just like, he, and I knew who he was talking like he said we got this guy for seven more years. Yeah, this short stop. Yeah. And it was just like, it said everything. And then you know, trade turner, new to position that he was in a situation that we was in. He fell on his sword last night, but it felt too little too late. Yeah, what is and it is, but I applaud him. I commend him for for being able to read the room and all the other good stuff. But man, that was tough. All right. Let's hear from some of the Phillies last night. Let's start with Don Mattingley after the game last night, talking about, well, tough to score runs in these big games. Do you have any explanation sort of in hindsight? Why it became so hard for you guys to consistently produce runs, both down the stretch and in, you know, these three games? Not really an answer. I mean, scorned stuff. And in general with pitching the way it is.

Um, no rise for that. All right. So here's why that answer bothers me from Don Mattingley. His first point, it's true. Pitching is pretty nasty these days, right? Offense is down, compared to yours past just across the league. But in this era, someone is number one and run scored someone is number two. Right. So like, I'm not asking the Phillies to be a steroid era offense and score six runs a game. But even in this version of baseball, someone has the most runs scored per game. Someone is number two. Someone's number three. They're 19th and runs per game. So like that, I'm not buying that excuse from Don Mattingley. It's hard to score. Well, the team that's number one this year, they figured it out. It is. It is. It's hard. Wait, wait, how do I catch it? It is something you would say a few manage in the team. Scoring is hard. On Reddit true crime doesn't come from journalists. It comes from the victims, the witnesses and sometimes the suspects themselves. Every Tuesday on Crimes of Reddit, we read these posts out loud. I'm Sabrina Deanna Roga and I'm Alexis Linkletter.

One of us brings the story. The other goes in blind, reacting in real time, just like you. New episodes dropped every Tuesday. Listen to and follow Crimes of Reddit available now wherever you get your podcasts. Well, no, to be fair, a little cold, we're not saying in that setting. Well, okay. I would not say it in that setting. And especially given the fact that this has been the norm in the post season for this team for the last three seasons. That would not be my go to that would definitely not be my goal. Yes, the reason I think this one is different than years past is that years past, they were either the eighth best offense of the regular season or 12th, right? And then they struggle in the post season and we got to come on here and say, man, they got owned by good pitching. They weren't a good offense this season. They sucked. Like they thought surprising that they didn't score for three games in the playoffs, aside from the extra in the game and game to they don't hit. Oh, here they have in head. All right, let's hear from some of the guys that didn't hit enough this year. Let's start with start with tray Turner. He brought up what he said. Here's tray after the game.

It was over outposting offense across the board this season. Me, my name is pretty, pretty simple. You know, when you hit for a second, you get a lot of bats and I kind of get things going. So a lot of that's on me. I think, you know, come Bryce did a good job. I scored a lot of runs and that's mostly because those two guys had good years. But I think it starts with me and you know, it took a lot of responsibility for them. I'm Jennifer and I'm Angela Kinsey and we're the office ladies. We're still talking about all the hilarious behind the scenes details from the office with icons from the show like rain Wilson, Greg Daniels, Malora Harden and so many more. Follow and listen to office ladies wherever you get your podcasts. All right. Here you said it. I agree with you. I appreciate that he fought like the last horse was crossed the finish line here. Now he recognizes he's not good.

So but okay. Now it's on the fillies moving forward. They can't just let him play shortstop anymore. And they can't just let him hit at the top of the order. He's going to moving forward. I recognize the contract is probably unmovable and we're stuck. But you that I think there's been enough years now where they can't just let him sit at the top of the order. If he earns it back. Like if he hits next, you're okay. Whatever. Then he could hit the top of the order. But this whole thing of he's trade turner. He plays shortstop. He hits first or second. They can't do that anymore just because of who he used to be. And not only that, Joe, it. I there's there's layers to this because I commend you being, you know, transparent. But there's also the aspect of you not or the thought that you don't want to move when the team was trying to shuffle folks. You know what I mean. So there's that aspect of it too. It's like, you know, you knew this this this outfield need to be a shuffle around a little bit and you weren't playing great at the position there at. It could have been a little bit different. If you would have probably been a little bit more forthcoming earlier in the season. Yeah, you're right.

And my delusion. It's almost like you know, okay, they don't they you know they're gonna take a dump on me. So I'm gonna try to get ahead of this. That's what it kind of all. It kind of feels like that a little bit. I'm gonna go ahead and get ahead of this to try to to soften the blow a little bit. Well, and look, trade turners last. If you go back to game six or game five of the NL CS in 23 and you look at his playoff numbers. Since then, I mean, it's a pistol. He's hitting the 100s. 100s. It's supposed to be one of the better hitters in baseball. He's been a brutal performer for the Phillies in just every way. All right. One more in the back to your phone calls. Let's hear Bryce Harper last night after the game. No, I don't know. I mean, that's that's the way baseball kind of floats a little bit sometimes. So I don't like the shit of wood a car. You know, if this ball would have dropped or we would have put this guy in or anything. I don't like that. You know, so you're here to do business. You're here to win games. And we didn't do that. I think I would see some of the pitching decisions. I that might have been worth a question was some of the what a kudas, shedas to the shot of Wheeler and Nola. I know people were upset about that last night.

Ultimately, I think they were going to lose that game either way. You know, as much as Nolas was getting hit hard. Wheeler wasn't sharp. You know, it was on three days rest. He gave up a home run. You know, I mean, the problem last night was they were they didn't have enough pitchers on normal rest. Right. They didn't have enough good pitchers because they part of this is they goofed around last week. You know, playing in their celebration instead of winning those games and setting up their pitching. They had a use Wheeler on Sunday. And then that through the whole thing off this week. Yeah, it is, man. It was like it was all hands on deck situation. And to be honest, should have never been in the situation. You're right. You got in you got in the playoffs. The last. The last game of the season when you had a five game. What was it? Five game. You were five games up before the end of the season. Five would eight to go. Yeah. So I mean, it's cool to say, Hey, it's my fault. But hell is what about you could have you could have changed this earlier. I mean, it's, you know, this needs to change. And I think the thing that you have to do, you have to be comfortable being on the conference. Yes. And so some cats got you. You got to shake this thing up man. Some cats got to go.

Cats got to go. You got to make some cats. You got to cast got to go. The word in my head. I keep coming back to a serious. Like with the Philly serious about being the best team of baseball. It doesn't feel that. It feels like it on serious baseball team. Like they're they're interested in being good. And they've committed to that. Right. They spend a lot of money and good for them. And they're obviously been good for five years. But it doesn't feel like they're serious about winning a world. A team that's serious about winning the world series doesn't let trade turn or take 630 F at and suck the whole year at the top of the order. A team that's serious does more the trade deadline. A team that serious doesn't have auto camp. I know they had injuries, but they had a minor league player take the final at bat of the season. It's it's remarkable that just it's un serious. And you watch the Dodgers and they are serious about winning the world series. Even the Braves are serious. They don't know what's accomplished. But they're serious about building a team. I look at a team like Milwaukee. They have limited resources. They're serious about how they built their team. This just feels like we're just goofing around and hopefully we'll win. It's annoying that that part I'm annoyed about the reality of the team is I've accepted it. Let's go to Chris in middle town. What's up Chris?

Three stooges need to go man. Let me let me let me let me say some things here. First of all, welcome back Kyle condolences to you and you're left once. But what we're on the topic of the condolences my deepest condolences to the Philadelphia fan base like we just watched the death of an error of Philadelphia baseball. Like last night's game guys, it was just completely feeble and pathetic. I don't know any other way to describe it. They just keep rolling the same team back year after year. The team ages and becomes less and less effective and as the results dropped, they became like a typical old man. You know about this become more and more stubborn and to play as the players and management. And then you know what you you're catching crazy because they treated us like you do and like Ryan Clark. They told us that they're the smartest guys in the room and we are more on we don't know any better.

And you know what happened during the process. Yes, I'm this during the process. They kept telling us. You that they deserve more money and longer contracts. Bryce Harper wears his goofy rivalry pack and sells his overpriced broken and you'll stand up there and lie to you that he's a man of the people and he's with you. And he says all the right things but then you know what he does he goes out and puts his actions in out there and refuses to back his words with stupid base running or not running terrible played approaches when it matters. And then he is the goal to listen to more money Douglas and ask for a longer contract and more money. So you know what you're as my message to Bryce you sir can hit the door and take you take you with you because he is cooked and I do not want to see that.

Do you take take the floor for another show again and you know what well we're looking at problems let's address the biggest king of morons. I remember back when there used to be a billboard across the street from the illegal scene that said fire how we you know what it's time for the fire Dave billboard because if the pot of plant Mr. Middleton pays Dumbbell and and does that and extend this guy and keeps the guy. And then he says I'm here it's the biggest single finger salute to the fan base we can't accept this we deserve better than this and you know what we demand betterness and if he doesn't listen guess what John here's the problem we're not all done we're at the end of the show we're going to vote with our dollars we're going to stop throwing a harder money at your tone deaf people and your tone deaf organization and you're no longer going to laugh at us all the way to the bank. Do it let you says to us all the time be where your feet are right now our feet are standing in front of a window that is nailed closed slammed close and there's nothing but a reflection of aged old players there that are stubborn and are not going to change so my final message to the team today you all can kiss my ass.

Chris we got you a couple things one the Nebraska situation he should be gone I mean if the if the Phillies are serious and I keep using the word serious serious about winning world series number of you should be out of here I fully expect he's going to receive a contract extension is this happen yet if they are smart about this they will bury this on a Friday or they will put it right as the Eagles are about to kick off in a game so we're all distracted for a little bit but but I that's what I expect to happen because I think John middle to the show and he likes to have a very experienced executive next to whether that be paquilic. Whether that be any McFale or it be Dave Dombraski I don't think John Milton is comfortable not having that kind of baseball person next to him in the organization so that's where we're going to have we're going to have this guy until he decides to retire and it's not going to work out well for us the other part of this is the window being closed I think you can make a fair I think you can make a statement that the window actually closed last year when they walked out off the field in L.A. and here this year they got in because six teams make the playoffs they got the last spot they weren't actually a very good team.

I think the window in terms of like them looking like a championship team having that kind of field of them it ended last year they never really at any point this year. It was a roller coaster. No question about it was a roller coaster but we as fans you know diehard fans you want to you want to try to believe in his team as much as you possibly can Joe but this the signs were there that's why I think me and viny we're mostly about or in Kyle as well well Kyle was more like he was done but it was it was more be where your feet are just enjoyed the moment now because you had the no you're not describing me at all you know I know you are not going to be the you were you were you were done you were basically you saying is yesterday you was trying to tell me not to be excited for game three to enjoy the moment well I yeah that's what I was saying enjoy the moment yeah basically it's about to happen. Yeah but enjoy enjoy the moment watch the game and just pray for the best outcome but you had didn't know watching pray. You know you saw you saw Willa warming up. Yeah we know walk the first two I was like oh let me tell you because the reality is not in habit tonight I started doing math you know math is hard okay Will is out here he's on he's on short rest they're ready down yeah they're already down so how number one how long is it going pitch and how many runs can he give up yeah in whose next like all of that so

the reality is this you get a couple days off but you're still figuring out who you don't know pain are out there like who who's who you gonna throw out there you know you know what I felt like with maddenly and I'm not saying he did everything right and you can make the case they should have just started Wheeler I think they lose either right but okay it's almost like watching trying to someone defuse a bomb like this is this is hard and it's probably going to go off at some point like it's probably not going to work out just wait for the bomb yeah and you know who created the bomb Nebraska Nebraska this is all his roster he's been here forever let's go to Jeff and Wilma to what's up Jeff Jeff auto camp we had to watch the auto the garbage man white flag camp and the game dude I was watching I'm like what are we doing here who is this guy I don't honestly I didn't recognize him at first I'm like oh yeah he's on the roster now it's it's embarrassing it's a minor leaker took the final lap out of a playoff series it's a embarrassing do you know who wouldn't have looked at that ball or took his shin guard off before he realized the ball went to the back stop Luis

arise and unfortunately he's hurt yeah that guy is one of the only guys that has some dog in it I know he doesn't walk much but we have the most dysfunctional lineup the only guys that would keep on this team right now Wheeler Sanchez Luzardo Durran and others in that dude I don't really care because the only interview I want to hear about is the exit interview with three guys outside of middle to the door numberowski number one Donnie bat Donnie baseball number two and Kevin long number three and you two can wait outside until don until a dumbbell comes out and you'll figure out what you're next move is this is ridiculous to keep running this crap back every single year and honestly dude I'll go back to when they lost Arizona two years ago yep that that to me is where we lost our chance to go to the world series and get

there again I agree that what we're going to look back as that was the one Jeff that was that that was the missed opportunity and they've never been even even is half as close again that was it they came home up three to in the NLCS with the Texas Rangers in the world series waiting and that that was just an okay Rangers team like that was the moment Nolo was still good then Wheeler was that is best they had Ranger Harper was sitting that cover off the ball that Jeff that was it and they blew it and all these guys are probably cool dudes like they're we don't I don't hate their personality so much I just hate the way they play baseball and I hate the way the disorganization organization will not do something with tray Turner they continually have sure we're batting in the top of the order he could have had 140 RBI's this year if he was batting fourth and said no he's up in the number one or number two spot and we got a singles hitter hitting fourth that we didn't get until two months before the season was ending how does that make any sense in a baseball world yeah if it doesn't it does it does not and when you when you unpacking I know you're talking about a rise when you unpack it that what makes it even

worse from Nebraska Jeff last off season a rise signed one year twelve million dollars they could have signed him instead of they could have now look whatever they traded a prospect but like just think about the like the cost acquisition instead of just signing him for a little bit of money and then keeping your prospect they traded one of their better prospects to have him for two months and he couldn't even play in the playoffs it's brutal Jeff it's it's it's it's brutal and in Nebraska and we preach to the called Nebraska sits at the top of it well now what Jeff just reminded me of camp being the last out yeah uh twenty twenty three yohan rojas being the last out pretty like emblematic a K's and Jake cave come in for oh I think it was Jake cave was one of those two well I remember he was talking he was like blaming Rojas yeah well because Rojas had the the moment in early in that game with the basis loaded I think it was yeah yeah so maybe it wasn't the series losing game but no but I remember you're I mean Rojas took a big FAT in game seven so yeah it's the same thing but that's Dave Nebraska's effort to fix the outfield for you know talking about the same exact thing three years later it's it's unbelievable this outfield is her you know and my favorite part is

when one of these outfielders starts off hot next year you know it's gonna happen I'm so yeah feels fixed we did it this year yeah when Mars had a good star I was like oh the outfield maybe it's not that bad Garcia started off okay the first two weeks or whatever it stinks the out they had to move Harper back to the outfield just to have some semblance of a lineup the outfield is horrendous and you know it's kind of funny well maybe not funny sad even Alec boom maybe their best hitter and he will see pro Roe be here he probably won't I don't think he will much drape postseason's a boom maybe being their best hitter that's how you go out early I mean that's not a slight to him he's not enough right it's it's he he did he did hit this series 215 592 94 94 are you reaction coming up next it's your day to let it out about the Phillies what's the emotion this morning is the Phillies season ends in game three last night it's the midday show we'll get to a lot of the show we'll talk about the Maddenly future the future of these players he already greets in the skids for the trade of Bryce Harper this off season midday show sports radio 94 WIP right there

won't get the ways to talk with Harper didn't realize it so rather late in the game and it's unable to take advantage that right there man that that like for me you can't you can't have the come to Jesus moment yesterday they talk about you know being a stand-up guy and talking about your son and doing it for him and then in a moment in an elimination moment you have somebody in a booth that that that knows you intimately run tell you to run I mean you can't you can't have that man you can't be that guy you you can't be that sometime you do you got to be a leader all the time and that that right there man they need they need to do some drastic things Joe they need to do some drastic things and and I said this what I said earlier this year when we talk about who who we're gonna get rid of topper or Harper Harper need to go man Harper needs to go because it like you can't for me you can't be the guy that that sits there in wax poetic one day

about what it means to to redeem you have redeem redeeming qualities of redeeming moments and then have that lackluster performance run it down a line you can't do that it doesn't go they don't those don't go together and it's obvious that he has a lot of say when it comes the things that have happened with the squad you got to shake this thing up man you cannot run it back the way that you ran it back before all right so listen for the first time well for the first time in a long time I see the light on what you're saying I would consider if I was the Phillies I would be open to trading Bryce Harper look I when we say shake up out letting Alec Bohm leave through free agency it's not a shake up right then he that's whatever now some other pieces trades okay but they don't have much of value to trade that they you'd want to trade right no one wants only one with value right so like let's go through the Chris called them the three suitages the three high price off fence of players Kyle Schwarber I'm a huge fan he's a DH DHs are not gonna bring back huge value in their 30s right so you're not gonna get it on back for him uh trade turner has negative value you'd have you'd have to pay

that contract you'd have to pay someone to take him take that contract you're not getting real anything for him I actually think you and I know you're speaking from a emotion frustration and kind of change the culture thing but if they wanted to shake it up and get something actually back they had to get rid of right well Harper's the one that could of those three of the three guys we're talking about he's the only one I think that could bring something back I could see a team that's close thinking he could be a missing piece for them and they give something of value back that that it could happen but again does anyone think the Phillies have the stones to do this no because they just good well again especially not with Nebraska they're content no if you're content you sit on your hands if you are not I'll just tell you this how he rose when we consider trading a huge contract away from the Phillies he would he would consider dumping somehow some way he would shake this thing up whether that be Harper or be Schwarber or be Turner or he's cashing one of the pictures at their highest value he would do that 100% man yeah he would to Nebraska he will not now if they get to Nebraska out of here you know it would be interesting it would be interesting if they actually got to Nebraska out of here and Middleton had a you know

an interview process trying to find the next GM next president based operations then he could probably hear someone speaking like you someone would come in with a fresh set of eyes and say yeah I mean it's not gonna work if you want to win you got to break this thing up in a real way yeah you do man because it's it's not working and right now like it's not it's not so much for me the Bryce thing I mean although that's part of it are you looking for a football podcast that doesn't put you to sleep with a fog of analytics or insult your fandom with phony hot takes I'm Dan Hanses and I'm Mark Sessler and we're the host of He the Call the NFL podcast you've been waiting for he the call covers the entire NFL not just the same five or six teams you're sick of delivering news weekly power rankings plus previews and recaps of every matchup yes we cover your team and we do it with a touch of the Murth because football is fun why shouldn't your football podcasts be the same follow and listen to he the call NFL podcasts wherever you get your podcasts the the fact that you had one day where you had a redemption moment by

hitting the home run you had a play that put the braves up and you had a redemption moment get yourself back in it it's it's not the leg in it out it's it's right now what is best for the baseball team and you have to change the way you do things another thing resonated with me during during the broadcast is how they talked about and I know you say we talked about the games and we talked about the other games that were played home runs were a big deal in the game even in the one yesterday home runs were always isn't the post season yeah but the small ball aspect of it too is is what kind of put you in the position that you were in in the playoffs you know it's still resonating with me that you were five games up and then you backed into the playoffs and then you had to claw and fight your way to being a game three yeah you know so you cannot and I know for a lot of people this is uncomfortable conversation because they love Bryce Harbor they love a protein powder they love it really they really want to hear talking about and you know people talking about no one likes whatever you know they talk about thank you for choosing me and and being

that star stud individual he ain't that cat anymore man he's not and it's time like you got to look at it and think about how are you going to make this team better right like that look at it from that perspective don't don't even worry about Bryce Harper whatever what moves can you make to make the team better because trade turner going to be here with that contract he's going to be here you have to look at it strategically in a way where okay what move cannot make that can maximize the individuals that could potentially get and that's the only one nobody else want it like we got a squad they don't nobody want anybody else well the other problem that they have you and this speaks to why they have to they have to be bold is there could be a salary cap coming you know we've talked about the lockout in terms of oh no we might miss time the whole sport might be different you guys think the fillies are going to operate well with a salary cap have you seen the way they develop players right here well I mean what if it helps us shed well I got amnesty close yeah oh man you get rid of one try or no look to me it's try I mean I clearly yeah even though no is not really good at

any but but I mean I'm not if I can give it a try but no but but the salary caps going to hurt them they don't develop players well but they don't have young cheap players that are are you know maybe painter now is about to pop but they don't have many of them that are here for so that's also going to factor it that they have they have these huge contracts that are not going to give them much it the whole thing is just a mess it really is Greg in the northeast is up what's up Greg man Joe here what's up man Greg has been a while what's up buddy man the bros he should have been fired last time it seems like he said auto camp was coming up the bat but I don't like we've been talking I don't think done bros he's only a fired because middle 10's not going to fire him because middle 10 does not want to say that he was wrong and bring him in here because he's obviously not who he who he thought he was or whatever because this team is just the same team every single year I was hoping at the end when we fell apart that we wouldn't even get in the playoffs because I was thinking if we didn't get in the playoffs then there would be change in this

organization but we did get in and I think it's stock home syndrome because after game two I was all we're going to win it all we're in it and then or last night the same thing happens we lose yeah and you know what as much as like we all feel silly today if you believe gesture it's okay I mean that like that's what fans fandoms for it's the playoffs it's a one game against the braves like yeah it's okay if you believe gesture but once it's over it like you sober up real quick like that's what happened to me as soon as the game ended I sobered up real quick I was like this team sucks they can't hit yeah they don't have a good bull pin they're expensive they're old it hits you like a ton of bricks Greg when it ends now do you guys think matterly gone and we're bringing in Korra probably yeah I do yeah that's my Greg a good phone call man that's my guess as we close you yeah that's my guess my guess my guess my guess is they're gonna when he think Monday Tuesday they put the statement out I'm addingly thank you for your service you're gonna be an advisor to the organization yeah that's that's my guess you're back to his role his his original role well I don't know it kind of awkward to be the bench

coach wouldn't why what do you mean why well okay because you got you're talking about the new guy the new guy you sit next in I don't know I feel like maddenly wouldn't I don't know he didn't see like when we talked to him in spring training he was kind of like yeah you know never said never but no I you right maddenly might be the stage of his life where he does it just shrugs his shoulders but yeah just skating his wing but how often is a team move the the head coach yeah manager down a notch but he stays on the staff it's awkward as you're the Eagles fire Siri ony one day and keep marana's an assistant let me in not nice not gonna happen mom just I just make a comparison yeah yeah it's just different baseball though because well you know in his sons upstairs that's why I think maybe he stays in the organization like I know it's different because he won the world series there but you said that one of the home runs was out we'll hit last that they showed snicker he said there he works for the team you know they team baseball teams do it all the time 215 592 94 94 that's how you operate all right we got a lot to discuss here on the show today coming up some thoughts on Sunday we'll we'll take a just a quick detour

to see how we're feeling temperature check on the Eagles and the Rams this is the biggest Eagles have been an underdog at home in a long time so yesterday I said it's the biggest is the Niners game of 23 it might have jumped over that it's three and a half now they this might be the biggest home underdog Eagles have been since 2021 I'll go look but it's been a long time plus we have a rough injury situation heading to this football game we'll talk a little Eagles Rams they'll write back to your phone calls well pack the maddenly thing the future of the stars who Douglas Strong today thanks to Phillies you need to consider moving Bryce Harper the hell out of here 215 592 94 94 the midday show the recap show is an inside look for fans into the world of global soccer women sports and all things gal culture from the inside perspective of two world cup champions and Olympians follow and listen to the recap show wherever you get your podcasts as we react to the end of the city Phillies season on sports radio 94 WIP you know y'all know I like bourbon and I like some really really good bourbon and my bourbon the choice is none other than the WIP for reserve the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby and this month we're celebrating national

bourbon heritage month and trust me if you're going to honor America's spirit you got to do it right we're talking about raising a glass of the most elite craft is still whiskey on the planet because it month this big deserve a bourbon this good how should you celebrate right now at your local fine wine and good spirit stores WIP for reserve 750 bottles are just two dollars off when they're not just two dollars they're two dollars off on them you know nobody any wrong information and that's just not for the classic straight bourbon the deep rich double-loked and spicy woofer reserve rise 750s is also two dollars off whether you crave a smooth old-fashioned or preferred neat head to the fine wine and good spirit stores today to elevate your home bar national bourbon heritage month and woofer reserve celebrate responsibly welcome back midday show you Douglas show jilly your guys would ask two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four usually you hear this song you kind of get some goosebumps for a big game and it is a big one Eagles Rams Sunday at one o'clock I'm sensing way more trepidation around here than I am than I am full excitement for this game well I mean no one has more angst around here

that you Douglas you how you feel another day to think about it here income the Rams the line is now up to three and a half part of the reason is the optimism around Devont A Smith playing this game has gone from maybe he'll play to he's probably not going to play to make vannis reported little optimism that Devont A with the hamstring is going to be able to give it a go so no Devont A and Zach Bond is still in concert protocol I find it very hard to believe he'll clear in a short week so we could be without Devont A in the office of side without bond on the defensive side you can you can make a case they've been our two best players on each side so far well in the beginning of the season yeah I mean season still young yeah Zach Bond is kind of you know I don't want to say regress but he hasn't made as much noise as he did in the first game sure but he's still really good but he's still really good yeah yeah yeah they need it yeah they need it so yesterday Bond didn't practice with a concussion Hollywood Brown didn't practice got it obviously out for a Johnson Devont A Smith a limited practice for Davis for apps for a jomo for Shipley here they're banged up they're on a short week and income San angry Rams team that has been beaten by the Eagles a lot

the last years I'm nervous about this game I just I think the Rams are going to win I'm just gonna tell you guys right now I don't think Eagles are gonna win this game on Sunday I hope I am dead wrong I hope you can come on here Monday and say Joe you thought the Rams are going to feed it and they're now they're one and three they suck I hope I'll be so glad if we have that show you I don't feel good about this game it feels like the Eagles are in a very tough spot and people sometimes pay attention to the betting line they don't I think it's notable that the Eagles haven't been this big of a home underdog in years they usually win here they usually favorite to win here to me it's saying something that the people who decide to say the Rams are way are better yeah I mean there's a lot of signs that point to your your trevidation or your your angst about this game their question about that it doesn't feel good Joe and one of them is you know it just feels like it feels like something's going on over there and again don't haven't talked to anybody over there don't know anything for certain but it just feels like this early in the season for it to feel like it's coming unraveled is is a little out of character for this squad and and some

of the things I'm pointing to I know that the Jaylen Hurst things aside side bars far as him being animated on the sideline that that's something that I don't directly correlate to the to the falling apart of the team but it's just I to see Jaylen out of character like that some of the things that I do point to are the fact that you know Seth joiner had a had a story where he he talked to somebody it feels like you know there's a little bit of a rift between the coach and offensive coordinator which to me is not a good place to be when you talk about the offense and the maturation of the offense and trying to get it where it needs to be and another thing and I know for a lot of people this is a small thing but to be in a huddle in a in a in a stressful or a must need a first down situation to have one of your offense alignment a well-respected pillar of community offensive lineman say you know hey there was a play that we know where there was a miscommunication yeah like in the locker room even if you know certain things to be true

you never speak them out loud because of exactly what I'm talking about you allow me on this side to recklessly speculate about what's going on you know that and you've been in a game too long to to to know you need to know that when you say stuff like that people taking a run with it you know so there's a lot going on with the seaman when I the defense the way the defense has been playing lately they were supposed to be the ones that were going to be the the bedrock for this offense getting to where it needs to be it's just a lot going on with the scene right now that makes me a a lot uncomfortable so I found it I found the last time the Eagles are currently three and a half point home underdogs if we don't count the final week of the 2021 season remember the Eagles rested everyone they put everyone in and got a covid protocol before the playoff game Dallas came in here and beat him up but the Eagles rest all their starters the last real game the Eagles were this much or bigger underdogs at home kio was week six in 2021 Tampa Bay with Brady came in on

a Thursday night the long time and we were just like not a good team not a good team not a good well you made the plus but nine and well nine and eight yeah very average football team because I mean well that could be this team this year yeah we're going to find out on Sunday I think like it's a brutal spot for the Eagles like it the Rams coming off a loss Eagles on a short week and I mean the Rams are just a better team especially with the Vontane's act on probably outland and Pooke is in yeah yeah they have the QB and coach advantage too well not according to Elliott's chart he put up yesterday you see that one I did not with all time or see now Elliott always puts up the like the advantage at quarterback and wide receiver and tight end and running back and all that I loved his choice the best he had the the advantage in the the coach area to seriani over McVeigh disagreement from me on that but I would have a QB both in the elite okay I think it's that for slightly ahead if I if the the the Rams symbol was slightly ahead but both are over the elite barrier he's just slightly better than jail just tiny bit uh yeah we're

in I'm not feeling great about this football game so I said this last year yeah maybe this will turn out the same exact way I've never been more confident in an Eagles loss we're going to get rolled okay then though then let me ask you this off of that with a close loss make you feel good yes me too if look without to Vontane without bond Rams coming in here angry Rams at the better roster if this game is 24 23 and it just goes the wrong way like whenever they we almost beat them last year was a block field goal if if it flips around and somehow they win on a weird play at the end but what we played with them for four corners I feel good need a style point loss yeah I just I want the game to be close this time I just we if we come in here Monday and it's not close we we're hit the we're hitting the panic button on Monday I here would but with a close loss be okay with you uh I guess it would but I don't think it's going to be a close if it's a loss I don't think it's going to be a close loss I think it's going to be I think there's a lot of play here I think that coach Rebea is coming in given what has happened to his team the last few times that he's been here that

you know and given the fact that if they get up on us they're going to put their foot in the gas pedal you know I I just don't you know what the biggest my biggest concern is especially when you talk about Zach Bond not being out there I don't know what this defense is going to look like well trot and and Campbell yeah and I'm not and that's not so much like the linebacker is going to only do their job if the defensive line do their job so if Jalen Carter is not the Jalen Carter that we need him to be and Jordan Davis we might be in trouble and we haven't really gotten that much pressure from the defensive end maybe you know Jonathan Grinard coming out their plan you know and and having a couple good brushes last week maybe that changes things but man that's a that's a lot to ask for a team that's going to throw the ball down the field like they're going to come in they're going to run a lot of motion and you saw last week how much motion confused our defensive line they're chucking the ball down the field and they're going to keep chucking it so that there's some concern there well I think the next few weeks are really we're going to find out

a lot about the Eagles I mean I think we all recognize there's not in a great spot for this week on a short week a lot of injuries Rams coming in pretty pissed that they're one and two but then they go to Jacksonville against the Jaguars that Jaguar's teams looks like it's pretty good they were pretty good last year and then the following two games after that they played teams that have good offense is not so great defenses Carolina scoring a lot of points I think Bryce Young leads the NFL on yards per game and then the Cowboys so like next four weeks this Eagle we're going to find out if this Eagles defense can rebound and we're also going to find out can the offense help them out if the defense is a rebounding two one five five nine two 94 ninety four all right we're out on the Eagles for Sunday it's a weird spot I've I kind of put up a poll we usually wait for the poll results but early on did you see this one you I don't know if I've ever seen the fan base so concerned about a game at least at least in years right you know this team has been a surbocatender or at least close to a surbocatender every year says 22 what do you feel more about Sunday versus the Rams confident or nervous you what do you think that breakdown is early on

do you really want to know yeah do I want to see what your guess is compared to the reality of the votes uh I'm gonna say nervous what's the percentage hi 93% nervous 178 93 because they hear it the same way did I hear it you know the other thing is what's that deep down no one actually believes a win is a win we're finding the sound no that's not it Joe wait wait wait wait there two winners a wins one ass kicking and now everyone is just jump a chip no no that that's not it Joe let me tell you what it is it's it's it's it's the fact that I did a tremendous job oh this is about you know explain no I mean but I did it's the truth I did a tremendous job of explaining exactly what's going on with this football team see I see they're starting to get the fact that I have some hard hitting analysis sitting here from 10 to 2 so when I explained it to folks early in the week and I slowed down and I explained it in detail and not only that Jason the Vont set right here and he validated almost everything that came out of my mouth

right he watches film so when they heard that couple with the Jason the Vont commentary yep they were like you know what nervous and on and another thing another thing that is happening the parking situation got people stressed yeah apparently doing a press conference today that's you know that's gonna be my guess is that not enough people are gonna pay attention to what has been put out there or said and we are looking at a bleep show on Sunday it is it's gonna be because I I have some friends that are tailgating and we were we were planning to do some things right but uh they want to see before anything happens they want to see what this looks like yeah because from the way it was explained uh uh the week after the first game yeah a couple weeks ago the weight can I say the week after the first game the way it was explained we had a whole off season to do this but it was explained the week after the first tailgate that they were gonna change the way that the RVs and stuff come in that now we have to deal with yeah well it's gonna be a thing and

the fact that there are people that have been tailgating for years that have set their menu months in advance for each tailgate that they're gonna be in they have to adjust that because they don't know what that's going to look like Sunday so yeah there you got there you have all right 215 592 9494 we'll get back to everyone's phone calls coming up there so you can give us your thought on the Eagles the confident nervous I'm nervous I just I feel like the Eagles are in a bad spot on Sunday I hope I'm wrong this doesn't feel like a win to me uh and we'll get back to the Phillies here the Don Mattingley situation with the players said yesterday many players on record endorsing Don Mattingley and wanting him back as the Phillies manager one notable absence of an endorsement though we'll tell you who that was since the midday show on sports radio 94 wip let's take a look at the latest pro football injury report presented by fanatic sports book it's week four in NFL everybody and the Rams you know I'm going with the Rams and the Eagles and

for the Rams questionable you got Kobe Parkinson you got Terrence Ferguson Aaron Donald is questionable Pukin the Kua and Cameron Kitchens for the Eagles questionable you got Zach Bond got the Vante Smith Marcus Epsson Hollywood Brown and doubtful is Dallas got it that's the days in report presented by fanatic sports book the only sports book to reward every bet download after date this season has given their fair play bet protection game changing boost gave it's given them a game changing boost everybody first there's the original first half inter protection if a player in your prop bet goes down with an injury in the first half any effect the straight bet is voided or if it's part of a parlay or SGP the rest of your bet can play on but now fair play but now fair play max also protects you after your player goes and gets the job done like when your quarterback goes over his rushing yards and then lose the yards or kneel down or you're running back hissed over but then gets stuffed and takes a loss it doesn't affect you once your player hits the over it's locked in for the win even if a

negative play happens to take them back that's fair play protection when players go down protects you when a player goes up that's fair play max from fanatics the only the only sports book to reward every bet must be 21 plus gambling problem called 100 gambler or 1,800 my reset very bottom up here yeah so let the filly welcome back midday show no reason why yeah you're done with joe jilly who comes with us 215 592 94 94 are coming up we're gonna go back to the phones and then we're gonna tell you what was said last night about Don Mattingley and what wasn't said about die melis so I think the expectation right now is he will not be the fillies manager next year that that Dave Nebraska who we assume will be back and probably to contract extension that I'll scream about is good to try to bring Alex core in here man that's been the worst kept secret in baseball he tried to get him when you still manage on the red socks before they fired him and top was still here that whole thing was going on

that weird weekend when they when they made the shifts I guess core got fired first and then he was available and you know top stops it was still here bottom line is to brasses wanted core the whole time I think the anticipation is core will be the next fillies manager will see if it plays out but you let's take a phone call and then we'll hear everyone what what was said about Mattingley last night some players endorsing him including one player who just did not choose to do that frank is up on w i p what's up frank hey guys doing hi jo hi you hey Frank what's up buddy hey joe do you remember meeting me at the rally and lawyers heard I do absolutely you were there at your kids at the table by the you know big TV I remember you so got a good memory yeah well yeah I saw you uh you you had somewhere to go yeah places to be people to see but uh oh yeah I had I had a lower as a that was the day we were out there a couple weeks ago I had to go in the bar exam yeah not the bar exam but I had to go talk oh I thought you were becoming a lawyer sorry go ahead Frank no he's good man um so and that's cool too I was also there at the Eagles game but uh so it's

devastating to live down here in the state of Georgia with all these fake racial and then what I mean by fake is before the game after game two they said you know apart from came up to me I'm not that invested I'm gonna sleep you know when uh if we don't win and then after the game they all acted like they had no pressure I know you said it wasn't a big deal that no let's start it but I was there earlier on this year April 26th offers last game no let gave up two three run home runs and you could just feel the stadium in April I can't imagine what it was like last night but I'm not just letting you guys off the hook but I really do believe if Wheeler started that game even if he gives up two and it's just two to zero or two to one in the six I feel like the game's not over with this offense when you're down three to zero it felt like it was over it did for so Frank here's what I'll say I don't I think they were gonna lose probably anyway just the way the game was going but you're yeah if I could go back in time I you're right I would have rather started

to Wheeler I think the Phillies made a mistake there uh I think it did give the brace momentum there was a moment in the game I think it was Vato on the broadcast and Vato didn't make a lot of great points but he did make one really good one yesterday that the braves didn't have an uncomfortable out that the first two winnings like it was just they it was like they were taking bad practice it felt easy for them and you're right it got the crowd going I mean when Harris hit that ball out it was like oh no you know that place was rocking for the first time yeah yeah and uh the only thing I'd say about the team is I'm open to what he said they got to give better I hope they reassign arise um but they got to go through and shake things up and he was right look I like Harper but man not running out that ball like you know somebody brought up at the night before there was a rally started after a drop third pitch strike yeah and you just never know you don't you don't think yeah it is it's well there's a lot of what ifs with this unfortunately Frank there's I could probably add a what if with this group man and we appreciate the phone call there's a lot of

what ifs um and and a series where it goes to a deciding game there's always going to be what ifs right I mean like what if they started wheeler last night I I think the thing we're missing with that and I again I think it's fair to think they made the wrong decision yesterday we we was better and we'll have picked more effectively you just you to just prolong the inevitable I think you to just inverse the problem right we we were it was on three days rest he was only probably able to give some he wasn't able to give a normal start so they ended up doing it in the middle innings instead of start the game but let's say they start the game he goes for innings two runs well what are you doing in the fifth is an aeronol coming in that game anyway yeah yeah yeah and and and say if if for whatever reason you could have got six innings and say if you were to won the game then the problem still exists that you got to put one of them cats out there you got to put no out there in game one against not yeah you got to put him out out there because because will is not going to be ready so it's one of those things you would just you would just holding it off for a couple more days that's the way yeah it's a tight rope but they tried to walk the tight rope they almost got through this one right I mean they got to a game three and they probably

should have won game one so it's a tight rope walk and but you can't it's you can't make you that the baseball playoffs have changed they keep adding rounds right like you can't get through four rounds tight rope walking maybe in the old days we only had a win a series or two to get to the world series or just one back in the well you know now old days that's different and just think if you to all if you to made all the through by time you got there your pitches would have been shot and you don't hit yeah yeah your pitches would have been shot I don't listen if you were someone out there there was a noise last night and you thought we should have started I I don't disagree with you he he should have and also if they were going to start all they really should have started Stubbs because Stubbs was good with him for a long time and and and JT it was different all right before we go any further maddeningly actually thought for the most part how to good serious I thought one game one and two he he'd hit the right buttons last night we could argue Wheeler Nolan let's hear from maddeningly last night asked about his future with the fillies and as you want to be back do you want to come back do you think you've earned the right to come back I don't it's not the time to talk about anything like that um not concerned about

myself in this situation um what the fillies to do with you know they need to do to uh to set themselves up for success um yeah I'm not really you know see what I don't I don't know what I really like my stuff doesn't really matter again I want the best you know best for the fillies I had a great you know I love being in fillies this year um actually like playing in that environment I like I like the environment it's a it's a rough environment but it's good yeah so again I think you you know let the organization evaluate talk about what they think move them forward what what what should what they should do uh and that dictates a lot of a lot of different things here that sounded to me like a manager who knows his fate and I also thought he did want to put um the spotlight back on the like if he says I want to be back well then immediately the questions go to to broski maybe his son like hey he wants to be back you bring it

like I think he was trying to let his son mostly off the hook there because if he says I want to be back the onus is on the front office yeah yeah but I think at this point even though you are gonna organize organization and that's your pops you have to look at you have to look at changing everything and I know he hasn't been here long but you have to look at moving forward how to make this better you can I cannot imagine especially when you talk about the time that you're gonna have to figure out what you want to do uh running this thing back the way that you ran it back and not knowing what the future baseball is well yeah I look I don't I'm not married to Don Maddie Lee they can upgrade it manager that's fine but what I'm saying is I think that internally you have to figure out what the dis team look like and it's I think it's also kind of telling that you have your biggest star not not committal I mean but he's kind of always been not committal well let's get to that all right so let's hear some Phillies players on die man I thought it was interesting that there's some pretty strong endorsements here for die man let's hear J.T. Real Muto on Don Maddie Lee should

he come back like to see Don return yeah I mean like Don he's great for his big force he's in the search return that's he's serious going to be a person well of course yeah I mean it's not obviously yeah we love Don if we play well for him who's a big manager of course because his speculation of his other names out there has been all summer you know yeah that's not that's not for me to speculate I have the utmost respect for Don and I thought that are you serious like I know James everything like you know well he's locked into playing he's probably not paying attention to stuff that we've talked about about rumors out there but it almost sounded like timing yeah one almost sounded to me like he didn't even think about the idea of Madeline not being back because it's time he did with the team yeah it was the timing of the question you know because everything is it's so it just happened right you know so it's like oh what are we doing but that's that's the news cycle that's how it goes that felt to me more like maybe I'm wrong but that felt to me more like are you serious like thinking that I'm gonna answer that question maybe maybe like you're gonna

get that answer to me yeah maybe okay so J.T. though endorse them we also have Kyle Schwarber here here Schwarber on Don Madeline's future I felt like you did a great job for us when we were in that tough spot and the way that he was able to get us to turn that page from a really hard time where he lose a guy he lost our manager who brought us to a lot of important games and um now I felt like just his demeanor was great for us and the way that he was able to get us to move on and the way that he kept even when things got hard the the way that he was able to keep things that even kill pace for us I think that was huge for us the this focus on a day of the time a task and a time all right so we have J.T. Remuto on the record saying Don Manley should back we have Kyle Schwarber on the record endorsing Don Madeline quote here from Aaron Nolan and Todd Zaleki's story we love Don Aaron Nolan sets that's one two three big names

with big contracts endorsing Don Madeline now I don't have audio of this but I do have a quote here from one more name Hugh Douglas that would be Bryce Harper Bryce Harper when asked after the game about Don Manley's future with the organization quote I don't want to answer that question he said well you know what that means you don't want him here I mean but if that's how you feel say that yeah but it's not gonna do that well oh just say hey you know the best thing to do in that situation say uh I'm gonna let it out of total organization to make that decision and even when you say that Joe is still this telling of course of it but that that kind of takes you off the hook to be non-committal is it leaves you it leaves you open for reckless speculation what's interesting to me every time this happens is the team isn't gonna listen to the players anyway right so like does it ever hurt as a player to say how you feel well no or does it ever hurt to just endorse your coach or your manager or say how you feel well but if you say how you feel you're gonna cause a problem you causing a problem anyway well you be cause a bigger like what if

he set up there yesterday it said I want him out you can't do that the guy's down the hall here's here's the reality of what he did Joe when you say that we're still gonna do what we're doing right now oh what does that mean it leaves you open to I know I know I know the other two guys did exactly you know even if you don't mean it say it I just thought it was interesting because let's just play it out let's say all four say that's the organization's decision right or something to that effect then you just kind of shrug your shoulder and say that's how they all feel three of them had an endorsement of the managers that's the problem one of them did not because you you kind of know when you ask questions like that you're out of the first or you're somewhere in between the last and in the middle right so as a former guy that's been in those situations like safe incident in the locker room and it's a bag and hey you think any reason be here yes I do because you know you stand the chance in that moment of being the father if you say anything else if I sat there in that moment and I say well if if I sat there and I pregnant pause that I'm still the

father so as a as a former professional athlete you got to be smart in that situation just say hey he did a good job he should be here because to your point Joe I know and you know that whatever I say doesn't make a difference but if I say something negative that's what's gonna be posted there's that you know you know I mean it's like folks complain about the median and some of the things that they do but you could you could put out a lot of these fires if if you just sit there and just lot if you have too lot let's see if you dug with stone as game ready should blue jeans still be here yes say you're good you got it yeah yeah now do it again and see what happens when I'm pregnant okay here should blue jeans still be in charge of WIP huh see how see see how easy that is yeah see how see how hard it is yeah see how see how I worked yeah it's like hey you know and now he's looking like oh but no it's it'd be funny to be just tuned in right at like second question oh crap what is what's you doing let's go back to the phone lights you're mav in Delco what's up mav

hey what's up guys how you doing hey mav what are you thinking I'm disappointed man I mean you know like I fell for it again I fell for it's our fifth time like we write it back again and the same result happened they couldn't get it done like I think a lot of changes need to happen but a lot of people can't be moved like Turner Turner sucks don't do anything to playoffs and he's we're stuck with him so he's what 40 yes 40 no no let's do like no in the first game of the world series he gave up five runs and then our team had to score six runs to come back and win like I've never thought no let's have been like a good pitcher he's just always been shaky like I'm not blaming it on those two guys like it's a team sport but like something new needs to change like they need to get out here well and for yeah well look if they can move them sure but mav unfortunately and you know this they're gonna be almost impossible I mean he's contracts are terrible and yeah they're long

term things and that the problem is they're not gonna get better right like that's like that's the reality of this is these they're just gonna get they're either gonna stay like this level off or they're gonna get worse as players that's just what happens it's it's father time and we've seen it with every athlete ever as they go into their mid 30s and late 30s so it's a problem and she'd do anything for yeah I was I mean I wasn't gonna say it out loud but he's gonna get passed that we all we all saw it I mean guys sit next to me it's a good player and then what the Jackson Bill was over is this was it just was over Matt good for him you know what the problem is you can't have a whole team full of that man you can get away with one you Douglas and still win some games you can have like five or six who's who's worse this current version of tray or Doug or Jacksonville Douglas oh no I was defining jacksville like you you know how a lot of times like being here you say you know I'm the I was real to find a jacksville I'd be like man this yeah he was

also a problem off the field so yeah I in the locker room I'm telling you man eight yeah that'll add to it yeah one day we should get someone who covered those Jaguars teams like for the real story of what Hugh Douglas was up to and just like I hated down there's a Bart Hubbush can stand Bart doesn't Bart Hubbush in the news a couple years ago with Aaron Rogers is that the same guy yeah Bart Hubbush was I feel like that he purposely didn't vote Aaron Rogers for MVP because he didn't like him yeah that's Bart yeah I think I was that dude that never mind me because they got kind of like Bart I too too yeah I got a part Bart Bart was a was a Richard he was a good to get a good show yeah you can get him on the show I probably won't say a whole lot and let's you say something directly and then I'm maybe we'll do it this is your life you Douglas Bart Hubbush and Sharon blue and Jim Miller that'll be the surprise for your last day like a retirement show but it's all the people that you've wronged over these or have wronged you and they come back to talk yeah but you know what like if Bart Hubbush whatever the hell his name is came in the show I would have to invoke two shorts favorite word you know two shorty is right never mind but I'm pretty sure

everybody out there you see who you're talking to right now yeah oh I know who Kyle might know but Joe definitely I've heard the name I don't you never know you know what two shorts favor word is okay I tell you you can't tell us on the air okay you can we've dumped you before all right let's go to more somebody I didn't know what I'm talking about Mark in Atlanta wants to talk to Hugh Douglas sorry what's up Mark hey hey how's it going guys what's going on man you big fan of you when you're at 92.9 the game you and Verling Coatley had some good times down at the Falcons game but I'm not calling to talk about the Falcons or the Eagles I'm calling to talk about what is it the braves yeah the braves you did that on purpose didn't you it's like we didn't know we didn't know who just won yeah but um you know it's uh it's amazing that they didn't put Zach Wheeler in maybe y'all've already beat this dead horse this morning but um you know we're

pretty lucky that they didn't bring him in because he's got he's got a braves number and in general the Phillies and Philadelphia sports teams have Atlanta's number but uh that game last night was like a world series game it was amazing well at least there was a little atmosphere in there the first couple games there was not I guess that you guys sold the park out last night because first two games it felt you know I'm in the Riley home run there was a pop but it just it felt was a little weird atmosphere those day games it wasn't full last night did have more of a that had a good atmosphere you could just feel like before the first pitch yeah but it's uh you know it's a good feeling on our end to finally beat the Phillies I mean they they they own us I mean 11-5 and pre-post season games but um you know y'all have great fans up there uh but you know it's going to be fun going out to LA and we'll see what happens yeah we will I mean I would guess the Dodgers win but the I guess the braves have a chance Dodgers haven't been as dominant this year as they usually are Mark we appreciate I mean nice call or Mark's really nice guy I feel like we're getting

empathy now from braves fans yeah that was yeah kind of hurts yeah that accent made me sick seem like a nice man but yeah yeah you know most judges are nice yeah well that's why they're not the greatest fans are too nice yeah have you got to have a little meaning yet it be a good fan I mean that's just think that's the way it is well yeah a little too nice down there uh doesn't get disgusting enough in that but they they're just they like the team too much you got to you got to have a little edge to you to be a great fan base all right let's go to Tom who's up on WIP Tom hey good morning guys how are you what's going on Tom what's up buddy oh these Phillies man they are giving me consternation um I've been watching them since I'm six years old I'm 54 so you know what I've been through um I understand you gotta get rid of Dave Dombrausky but look around the league look at the cardinals look at the tigers look at the the nationals look at the athletics they all have kids behind the other kids yep we do not so sometimes gotta change also with the

farm system with the farm director somehow when we had the chance to trade aiden miller or Crawford or paint their oh they're untrainedable by who standards we got mediocre season rookie season out of Crawford paint their blue up in his opener and aiden miller or we gotta see him trade turners here till he's 30 till he's 40 aiden miller will be 30 by time he comes up so what are we doing here well Tom what you're talking about is the biggest reason why they're in trouble as the future it goes on like I don't know if it's next year the year after but they're gonna they're gonna fall off a cliff with the age of this team and the only way that changes is what you're saying like if they develop young players and they don't have a good track record and so far from what we've seen from these guys it's not great I have hope for painter because it feels like he kind of found something the last couple months and then what he did the other day but Crawford I mean after watching Crawford all year guys he didn't look to me like anything more than an average player he just looks like a guy I mean might end up being a fourth outfielder or maybe your third best outfielder but nothing special so and then Tom to your point on aiden miller young kids with back issues

that's not a good recipe so I hope for him but I don't know I mean we can't count on that now no no we can't count on that and the other thing that bothers me is who's touching Romuto hit 205 this year all the testers in the minor laser are like passed off the only thing I can think of is you gotta get rid of Harper maybe for Adley Rutchman and the Red Stop and then find him the long term deal that's the only option I see yeah I do like Rutchman and he's been an all-star and they just trade a lot for him top yet they they have to be open and creative to make this team better and and Tom Goodfonco here the problem with the real Muto thing is he's right real Muto is declining fast here they gave him a three year 45 million dollar deal so like out of out of uh that's pretty yeah yeah that's the word almost like I feel like I'm sorry contract too because they were about to move off him for a bishet and then when bishet was like now I'm going to the mat seems like oh here's here's 45 I can't believe they gave him three years yeah but I mean you you you put yourself in a situation where you know you're gonna have to cut bait with somebody's guys even though they're they're gonna be you're gonna have to pay them that

that's that's the uh reality of where this team is right now let me ask you guys question with cutting bait now uh I guess there's if there's a salary cap you can't really do this but let's say there's not a salary cap or let's say the players win and there's not a salary cap and they whenever they come back to baseball they come back do you think the fillies would entertain the idea of just cutting trade turner and eating all the money like they'll try to trade them but if they can't trade them would they just cut them would they eat a hundred ninety million dollars hmm that's a good question Joe I don't think so I don't think I think if that was I think you're right I don't think they would but I do think that if if he was kind of but that they would have more wiggle room to do certain things that they want to do with him you know what I mean like if he had to move him to the outfield or something the movie mouth of shortstop so I think that or moving down in the order three options one move him off a shortstop move make him an outfielder and try to help you outfield and you're in field I think that's most likely is the first way we go

with this that's the first dominoe to fall second and that's probably a year from now is they try to trade them and eat some of the money and then the last option would be to cut him one day I mean you I don't think he's going to last year all seven years left in the contract I mean I just I don't think that he's going to be able to play for them for seven years at a viable level also I don't I don't know if anyone would take him in a trade it's brutal it's I remember the discussions we had about trade when he first got here in the first two months and we did the magic one show and it was like no one could even open their eyes the possibility that we signed a lemon we signed a lemon I mean this guy is not worth the money and he just left it and someone we did yeah he took some heat yesterday from a caller for the lemon stuff macaque oh by beta male he was a beta he was was it about the name yes yeah well so I think the caller was kind of referencing the macaque starting to come around like a decent game Monday maybe his best one so he kind of wanted you to apologize for all the malachi stuff it turned into a thing well no he started cursing on there oh really yeah he was a beta oh he started cursing

yeah you got a new skin well he called my beta so could have been other of you twice in the segment yep all right 215 592 94.94 your reaction to the fillies here you dog was throughout the idea the thought you should explore trading Bryce Harper do you agree Don Mattingly should he be back as the fillies manager most don't think he will be notable no la real mootah shwerber all back Don Mattingly Bryce Harper he pleaded the fifth on the biggest question and answer last night and I think Debraska needs to be out of here by tomorrow he won't be they're gonna give him a new contract I'm gonna lose my mind where are you where are you on the fillies we'll react all day scott will join us at 12 to wrap up the season it is the midday show on sports radio 94 WIP delete why listen what I'm a says is kiss for licking we're on our way oh my gosh it's awful we've only begun

nothing cures what's ailing this morning like the suit suit sounds a few dog listen and promises something quite an offseason around here yes it is what if you had a ballpark the date that embrowski contrite the extension hits when is that week oh oh I'm already sick about the press conference in the gonna be a press conference is gonna be no no he's gonna he'll do an exit press conference they'll do one next week oh you mean exit press like I get into season wrap up I'm getting my breath comfortable well I would advise the fillies not to announce that before the press conference get my breath you know it kind of you could find it do you remember the press conference they fired topper i think it was tim kelly asked um donbrowski why philis fans should be confident in him and he was from my recall very um what's the right word smug about his resume or like you I'll let you enter my track where yeah kind of let you answer that question I was thinking about that as we came back from the break i don't know why he was singing jog my memory of that but it like

he came to me that he was very like yeah you know you you can answer that question better it's like basically better ask somebody yeah like you you don't know who I've done and what I am yeah I got it let's hear it Dave given some of the shortcomings whether it's in roster construction or production why do you think philis fans should still believe that you're the right person to lead the front office you can answer that question i'm not gonna get into that you already well i can answer it can i answer Dave you're not you're not the right person or we tim should come back anyway if they do give him a contract that you ask him again just see what he says uh probably probably be even worse than it was that time i mean let's see that that's part of the problem it's because you you don't want to be you don't want to be challenged on what you used to do see it's different when you when you're old and you can't do it anymore right you know this because you're yeah cuz i yeah cuz i hit you with you better check my track record because i don't play football anymore but we're in a situation where you're still being tasked to build teams right i don't give a damn what you did with where you were before yeah you're a winner where you were before yeah what is your track record here and that's the only thing

that matters because when you get when you get signed or you get hired here and people are looking at your resume they're looking at it with the with the adulation that you could do it here and for you to sit there and say that that's a smug way to do it go about things because i don't give a damn what you did back when you played about okay since we like to since i've been catching so many strange today uh i had 12 and have sacks here in Philadelphia when i left to go to Jacksonville didn't nobody care about that it was more like what are you gonna do here in in Jacksonville and i didn't get it done right so that's it's the same exact thing so what what here's my issue with the Nebraska thing and maybe this isn't fair but i this is what i feel i don't feel he cares that much like he sure he wants to win but is he dying to win at the stage of his life or career he's he's probably going to the hall of fame anyway he won't because he's done it he's right down with the red socks that it with the marlins got the tiger's true world series twice i just what the way he operates comes across it's like if we do it great it's wonderful but if we don't

i'm i'm no no what it is what they call you living off what you did in the past yeah that's what you're doing you're living off what you did in the past and you're expecting everybody to kiss the ring what that ring doesn't have a pee on it well you know it's it's this is middle to zamo though because this was mixed fail now he's better than mcfail mcfell was a disaster the mcfell had the if we don't we don't comment crazy than that's nameless why it is especially because he failed here but like he had a world series from the twins he was successful with the uh the orals he he's in this was like the final stop can we get someone in here that's young and hungry is that hard that's that's the annoying part because like middleton is very clearly dying to win the world series like he's he's can't stop saying but he hitches his wagon to this these old guys that aren't that's what i mean that's extremely bothersome it is i i feel like every minute the dodgers were making another move to try to win the world series and we're sitting around like yeah you know what if we have to use auto camp in a playoff game or tim tim mason was in the second inning that's the name of mason that i don't care when frat did got you going i don't care these pitch against jack the tim mason was pitching in the second inning of a play uh i go back to the phones losing it

Alexi king of brush what's up Alex you know the the fills were poppin champagne a little bit too early well a lot of it too quite quite a party on sunday just to be the last team in the playoffs i know yeah i knew it was over once uh no one threw that uh free run homer i could see it in his eyes see the over yeah it did Alex that three run leads for the braves felt like eight when they went up three nothing i was like oh uh oh this could be a long night yeah it's set to tone what i did yeah i mean it was it definitely did it hurt man it hurt i could feel it yeah yeah but don't be got others birds game to look forward to hopefully uh put us out of our misery well you mean that that that don't sound encouraging no i mean if i guess i get something yeah i mean i know it but it's just what you said it was like yeah we get put all about minutes well i mean if we go down early it might it might be one of those like i mean you you're not making me feel better about this Eagles game on sunday what do you mean i'm not usually

count on you to be the guy that you know sees the positive you're sitting here like i don't know i'm not gonna ask this kicked yeah i feel like that might be the guy i know blame you for either gonna either gonna come out firing on all cylinders or we're gonna lay down and die i'm not sure how it's gonna go but we've been here before and and you know what to be honest the game for for the last few seasons that i've been here has been a somewhat of a turning point for these you know think about it the the the Cleveland game that was a turning point game was game five oh that was game five what my master's math game four was game four they had the it was the buy than a meeting right yes they got the they got beat up by Tampa on the wait yeah we had a week was it a week four buy five buy so it was games game five weeks six against Cleveland okay but but the point is pretty shifted head yeah you should get a lot of details here out thank you for the call he's bound down and the rest is history because well the point is this usually when it feels like this they use to come out swinging and and and hopefully that's the case but there

has not been to be honest with so much stuff swirling around his football team and and the offense the unknown with the offense it's hard to feel comfortable saying that they're gonna work their well that's why and i know it sounds weird to say i would take a close loss on sunday i'm being honest i would take a close loss if the Eagles lose this game close but they fight and they're in there the whole time with the Rams i'd feel better you know i obviously hope they win i don't think they're gonna win this game i'm just hoping we don't get trucked again because they got trucked by case kingdom on monday night and now they're facing the team that has the when the MVP last year i mean case kingdom had had a good game in five years now we're facing the MVP the league from last year so i'm i'm just crossed by figures we have a game in the fourth quarter considering all our injuries no divante i mean that wide receiving core on sunday is thin suspect but no we got this is your win from a guy i was about to say this is a game where you know you you can you can earn your stripes a little bit well as a first run pick i expect him to make some plays when he's given a lot of opportunity all down he's got a throwdown yeah he got a trust him but that that comes with trust in my opinion you know when you got a quarterback that's that's

learning offense and trying to go through his progressions and everything you have to trust that when you throw the ball to the receiver that he's gonna catch me yeah and you have to give him to the like let me give what's his name whatever's name was yesterday calling a guy in his fillings i game props you got to put him in position to be successful yeah he wants his name to really forget not i didn't forget his name it happens to one five five nine two ninety four ninety four coming up your phone calls we'll talk to scot france gives well a post mortem on the fillings as a season ends last night land where do they go from here and how do we how do we unpack this thing as they go out and three but really this season they were not a they were not any close to a great baseball team we'll put a bow on it's the midday show on sports radio ninety four w i p with football season underway time to see how your predictions are shaping up who makes the playoffs who wins their division who takes home the title calcamerica's number one prediction market platform let you trade those predictions in a live market i'm looking at a bunch there's a lot of good games this weekend as i look here hmm i don't want to go with a pick this week you know i actually think carolina's got a chance at an upset carolina plus three and a half on sunday night football that let lines

defense is suspect right now carolina 100 out of trade on carolina to win it outright pays out two hundred sixty five dollars and eighty six cents on calcier trading against peers in a live market meaning there's no house as a probability change you can buy in and out of your position trade the draft picked the game and more on calcier delo calcier's code g i g l out to get twenty five dollars when you trade twenty five dollars k al s h i calcier trade what's next it's time for a francekey friday the midday show we talked to the voice of the fillings scot france and i wish and i hope to me kind of talk about last week that we were getting ready to preview an nlds against the dodgers that would have been awesome that is not the case we talk about the end of the season with our guy scot france he's got good afternoon scot what's up fellows well you know you know just kind of post-mortem trying to figure this thing out scot yeah what's the pulse not we got yeah it's what he wanted to be on it we landed it i got home at four in the morning from Atlanta so i haven't been keeping up with the the public i'll tell you scot and i'll tell you i recklessly speculated this thing has to change and that that's my opinion there were a lot of

moments you know especially when you talk about the the brics harper saving the game in the second game and then not legging it out and and crook pointing out the fact that he didn't uh i feel like it's time it's time to make some tough decisions that that's my opinion that that's my opinion as a guy that sits here every day and talks on the radio and watches the fillings that something has to change when it comes to this team well so it i'm just curious because yes i agree the things need to change for the team but you pointed out two things about harp and someone wondering if you you're you're inciting anything's have to change with harp yeah yeah i am i am i i feel like i feel like when you look at like and this is not nothing against brics harper right there's nothing against him but i feel like when you talk about shaking things up for this team you have to look at your your your assets and what assets do we have and right now he's our biggest asset you know and he's like he's the he's our biggest asset to get the biggest returns from in my opinion i don't know that that's true i think your bigger assets would be

Luzardo or Sanchez well that those are those are assets that i'm not willing to move on from oh which is fair which is fair but um i mean i get the idea of trying to you know uh obviously if you do something like that you're you're you're pushing the plunger down and detonating the whole thing right you're you're talking about really blowing it up yes um i i mean i would assume everything's on the table okay again i would also i mean again who's like with who will who all will be part of the decisions that that get made right i mean what will the leadership look like moving forward i mean i think all the questions are out there much you know um it i i mean if it's me i think some things certainly need to change and i wouldn't i wouldn't sing a lot Harper i mean Harper was one of their you talk offensively he's obviously one of their best players right he's he and this year he was one of two they had two good

offensive players for the whole season that's it they had shorber and they had Harper that's all and if those two guys didn't hit they didn't win and you sometimes when they did hit it wasn't enough to win um but you know trade took a lot of responsibility countability for you know he he obviously last night said a lot about i have to change i mean the the biggest failing of this offense he said was me and he's got a lot of work to do can you trade him i i know a lot of people suggest that i don't know that it's possible yeah um but i do think with all of those guys um i think there's been a hesitancy uh to to go to them and say look this is what we're going to do you're gonna play center you're gonna play left you're gonna play um in ride you're gonna play first you're gonna hit third you're gonna hit seventh you're gonna hit you know what i mean um and i think that if you were to and i think everybody's speculating that there'll be a

obviously you know managerial change and who knows maybe coaching changes um that they might have to sort of lay the groundwork out so look this is how this is how i see it this is how we're gonna do it um this is how i see you as a player and i'm not talking about anybody and specifically whoever's on the roster this is how i see you this is how i see you this is how i expect to use you um and go from there but i i do think it's time to i think it's time to make some hard choices um and i don't know whether any of those things are possible you know those those kinds of trades turn so i'm being i'm being i'm being i'm being a i'm being a little hyperbolic then what else is them around here you know i actually don't think you are i think it's i think those are the thing if you're at this stage in your franchise i think you have to consider everything um you've gotten to the playoffs five years in a row and that's awesome we sat around and went

eleven straight years without going to the playoffs right so it's great you're going to the playoffs every year but it's pretty obvious that this is a team built for the long haul of 162 with great starting pitching right that helps you win most games even helps you win when you're not hitting right um think how many one run games or one nothing two nothing three to one these kind of games they won early in the year even when they weren't hitting in may they want all those games in may and they weren't hitting um so i think you need to obviously do address the offense it's really obvious you have to address the bullpen and those are the two things you've always you've said for four years now um Scott yeah right i agree um i grew zero overall point on all this the other thing i i'm wondering and you talk about who's making the decisions and the hard decisions i wonder like an honest look at is the arrow still is the arrow pointing up is the arrow pointing down is it leveled off i mean offensively you mentioned it they had two hitters that were good

this year shorber and harper they were 30th and adjusted op s the worst in mageley baseball they were 23rd on base 20 seconds slugging like to to me there has to be a real conversation of are we just a player or two away or are we not and then off of that then you make the decisions moving forward i i'm just not sure like they often fell off a cliff this year and was that just hey some of these guys had down years and they'll bounce back or do we have to replace them you know are they not the guys they used to be i don't know the answer but i think they have to figure that right and and for each player it's a different question right tray fell off the map entirely brice really struggled all season long to hit left handed pitching he was a completely different hitter lefty versus riding so what do you do can you fix it can you fix what he does against righties do you or against lefties pardon me or do you need to move him out of the three spot when you're facing a left handed starter right something that seems like it's been foreign or taboo to even discuss right but should he really hit third when you face a left handed starter i

don't know i mean can you can you improve that right um with swarber it's like it was a total balance but the other part is you're locked into big money on those guys right and you're locked into some contracts on those let's say you know turner swarber arper remute to four players four out of five four out of your nine right so let's say now what do you do with the other spots right you brought up just in Crawford this year um bread and marsh struggled mightily they didn't really have options right they didn't have a minor leager that that was ready to maybe threaten for the job um to try to couple guys and you know rinconus obviously wasn't ready um and i think if you if you're if you're a team in a big market that that spends a lot of money on free agents and long

term contracts you still have to have a system that is bringing guys to big leagues right um you know luisa rise went down and i know there were injuries in the minor leagues as well but luisa rise went down and there was no really ready replacement for him and there was no um um i mean you you ended up getting a guy who hadn't been in the big leagues since April and added him to your playoff roster um you carried two catchers on the playoff roster on the bench that you knew were probably only going to play if there was an emergency um and the reason for that is because there wasn't there were no other options so i think that's if you're going to have all those contracts and big money guys you have to be able to supplement with the farm system um and you have to be able to bring up talent that's that's at least ready to compete somehow i'm not saying i'm not even i'm not even asking to be a superstar but be ready to

compete at the major league level but if you if if fans are frustrated and they say oh well Brandon Marshal we got to move on from him well okay but what else is there right what what's what's waiting behind him at triple a or double a i don't know the answer i don't watch the minor leagues but it doesn't seem like there's players coming to the top so i agree uh and they have to do it fast because the way i view it the the braves are not going anywhere that's a well run organization the bets probably will be better with the money they have and i just would think they're going to be better than they were this year and i thought the marlin's a national started to improve a little bit as the years could compare to last couple years so i think this will just be harder they have to get better it's got your thought on last night the one that if that you know mostly today has been a big picture day for the fan base but if there's a point of consternation from last night it was the decision to go with no to start then Wheeler especially because it seemed like Wheeler had something in the tank to give you know he went the forenings my perspective was they were trying to tight rope walk this thing anyway and eventually know what i had probably come in that game so i didn't like lose my mind over that i probably would have

went with Wheeler it didn't work the way they did it what was your thought on how they arranged it and then you know obviously Wheeler to maze it to or no little maze at a Wheeler well you know in in looking at it and in talking beforehand about it everybody was really coy about well how i mean how much could they have expected from Wheeler let's say and i don't know what they went in necessarily if they had a hard number in mind but i know i know what they just felt like because nola was on regular rest was the only fully rested guy that that was worthy of of going there and no i had never really done the relief thing before um but i mean i understand all the counter arguments and i can probably get behind it you're right you could start Wheeler who by the way gave up a two run homerf you know walked a guy and gave up a homer um so it's not like he was perfect either um it's not like oh if Wheeler had just started we would have won the game you still

only scored two runs so um i'm not i mean i don't necessarily buy that oh because they got down three nothing early they had no chance to come back to me that's not true um if their offense was good enough they would have come back and they would have made a game of it but this this was an issue of the offense this wasn't a managerial decision this wasn't uh um who should start or whatever you knew that all all those guys were gonna have to pitch that day right in some order or or another um might it have worked out differently yeah maybe so but um i mean you guys watched the games in september you guys watched night after night if two runs or one run or three runs or two runs or one run um it's just it's just obviously they struggled and they were struggling right into the finish line and they struggled during the you know the game

they won they scored four runs um but they hit the long ball and you know last night they didn't and they scored only the two runs they couldn't get that the one big hit they were over six with men in scoring position the braves had one hit with a man in scoring position last night um but it happened to be a three run oh yeah that's a big one all right Scott let's let's end with this and it's obviously going to be an interesting offseason around here and look there's not a silver lining to losing to the braves and losing getting knocked out but if there is one real positive it felt like the last couple months at especially in game number two it's what I thought was the coming of age of angiopanar here what what did you think down the stretch what you think in game two and uh and then looking forward and we we people were thought he could be a great pitcher we hadn't seen it but perhaps we're starting to see him you know become a different guy down the stretch here I sure hope so I mean he um you know he obviously was the crown jewel and and and talked about for many many years and um to me uh he showed some real uh some real professionalism some real

guts some real moxie to work through what he went through because I mean this guy was was getting crushed at the beginning of the year and that could really derail a lot of people there's a lot of there's a lot of people in this game that would take that and and maybe never recover um and and always wonder if their stuff was good enough if they could ever be good enough and Andrew didn't do that I mean Andrew went to the minors got to work made changes listen to suggestions learned work learned and worked and um I was really happy for him I was really impressed by him to come into that spot and do what he did he had trouble like he had traffic right he worked around it um he didn't lose his cool didn't lose his composure um I think everybody everybody internally believes Andrew painters gonna end up okay he's gonna end up fine and he's gonna be a good pitcher and I think he has the he has the makings of being a great pitcher right um time will tell

takes a long time to go from good to great in this game and to stay that way but I think he has it seems like he's got everything not only physically but also the intangibles as well to make that happen I agree it felt like that's the best positive to come to the end of the season Scott we appreciate we appreciate it all the spots all year uh we're excited obviously for whatever this off season brings hopefully baseball on time we'll see you about that Scott but have a great off season uh don't be a stranger you're calling time you have something to say and uh we'll we'll talk to you soon thanks a lot Scott thank you very much sounds good guys and huge yes fit he goes games don't blow me off I'm not a promise got I will not blow your better not thank you Scott here boys there we go Scott fransky with us there as he is every Friday that's what they always say a part about today see it's the end of fransky Friday yeah yeah but I see my decals game you better say hi this yeah I definitely will you blew him off no I don't know what was going on last season there was a couple of seasons ago I don't know what was going on but when he he spoke I was somewhere else and I said dark I felt bad Scott trying to say hi and he blows him up like he is and talks about like yeah I felt bad about it was

it was a bad look for the show it was bad look for it's unlike you to blow somebody off no it's not like it was I forgot where I was or or what I was thinking but I was thinking something it's not like I'm blowing people off it's like a lot of times and I understand it's for people they listen to us every day right especially no Scott yeah and people listen to us every day and a lot of times people speak and I don't remember people and it's not like I'm trying to be disrespectful it's like but you're speaking to me like we're familiar and I'm not and it's it's it's just the reality of it you are familiar to them you are familiar to them yeah but it's like a lot of times I don't remember like I'm thinking like that we you're right the 50 something sacks here people know yeah yeah but I'm like I'm thinking I'm like in my bag I don't want anybody to feel bad that happened the last time we got the tailgate some guy was talking about I was on I wrote on his fire truck and he was like you don't remember me and I was like I'm sorry I don't and he looked at me like I was trying to big time I wasn't very I like did not remember I know shock the whole thing is not not so much big time and now standoff is yes little standoff is but not big time but not

in London next week if you're going who's promised to be a different person 215 592 94 9 for coming up on straight we'll get into more of the future with some of our fillies here the free ages who should stay who should go and you're Douglas not the only one suggesting a Bryce Harper tray we'll tell you about that next it's the midday show sports radio 94 WIP you all know I like bourbon and I mean I like some really really good bourbon and my bourbon of choice is none other than Wilford reserve the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby in this month we're celebrating national bourbon heritage month and trust me if you're gonna honor America spirit you got to do it right people we're talking about raising a glass of the most elite craft is still whiskey on the planet because a month is big deserves a bourbon is good how should we celebrate well right now at your local farm wine and good spirit stores woodford reserve 750 bottles are two dollars off and that's just not for the classic straight bourbon no no the deep rich double oak the spicy Wilford reserves 750 rye is also two dollars off whether you crave a smooth old-fashioned or preferred neat head to the fine wine and good spirit stores today to elevate your home bar national

bourbon heritage month and Wilford reserve celebrate responsibly welcome back midday show you Douglas show you guys with us 215 592 94 94 that is how you hop aboard as the fillies go out in three games you I thought a really interesting spot mean always love having Scott in the show but I just thought it was interesting his candor and yeah appreciate his can and and kind of just open to any to I think we're all at this point where everything's got to be on the table to to go from where they are to better because if I just keep I hope the fillies recognize this if they don't change anything then you said at the start the show they keep going one step worse right yes what's the next step they're going to miss the playoffs yeah this is happening yeah right there's a bunch of teams in the annale that are young and getting better that one of those or multiple those will jump up to the 80 something win range soon so if the fillies don't get better they will naturally get worse because they're old and we're going to be sitting here I don't know if it's next year or the year after not even in the playoffs they have to fix something yeah and you know when when he was talking about Bryce on the stand is his his comments about that in Bryce is one of your number one hitters but

at some point you you have to send a message and you you're not saying that Bryce is the message but he's your biggest trade piece you know and and if you want to make this team better I think it starts there so I agree with you that he of the hitters right he's the number one trade piece right I think he's more valuable than store ber you know because he plays a position on a trade market trade has no value but Scott did bring something up that's interesting you're most valuable pieces are your younger yeah and you know I don't think you want to move on well I don't but if we what do we think the flows are better at creating pictures or hitters I think it's pretty obvious they are better at developing pictures yeah but there there is a school of thought I mean it's not insane to say what if we traded one of the pictures to get a real hitter like a guy that we know can has a track record of hitting he will make our offense better and then we will develop the next arm like I don't who are you talking about then are you talking about well it's good the two would that make the most sense would be Sanchez or Lazardo right mm-hmm they're both very good they're both

it would be insanely valuable and you probably could get back a hitter that has a track record like not a prospect that you hope can hit like I'm like I'm just I'm throwing out ideas because we're all throwing out ideas but if someone's shaking things up and trying to make the offense better you probably get a real hitter for one of those guys who would rather part ways with Lazardo or Sanchez are you asking me like in the moment Sanchez right now I was thinking that because he's a little older he's three or four years older yeah and and it all depends on what type of hitter I'm getting yeah I and I'm a Lazardo guy I love Lazardo I just I mean I like I like I like I like what can say I like that though but I did your guy he said it a lot yesterday uh yeah that that would probably be that that would probably be the most attractive yeah you know and and you're talking about trying to be young and relevant so yeah that that I would not like to part with him yeah but yeah well these are these are not great problems to have unfortunately we have two one five five nine two nine four nine four all right let's take a phone call and then we'll get back to Moore who stays who goes what was said yesterday and what was written this morning I don't know if you dug this

contribute to this article but there's someone out there big baseball name yeah just banging the table saying maybe Bryce is out here Ron and Monco's up on WIP Ron well the fat lady singing yeah yeah I hear she hasn't stopped since the 11 o'clock last night or 10 or whatever that how that came at you yes you know what you can you can do that Harper out of here but that what are you gonna do uh I don't know if you's workshop the next stage but no no I think I think you know we I think after Harper I think that if we move trade off a second or for sure oh excuse me off for off is short and put him in outfield uh I think we try to get some hopefully we get we get us a shortstop in here right I mean it's it's not it's one of those things I'm just right I thought he wanted me to say I'm saying again I don't know I don't know but but you got it you can't run it back like this I you can't run it back like you I'm with you I'm totally with you I'm not I'm not

poking at you I'm telling you the truth but I'm gonna take you out of the game with checkers guys because you're playing checkers now I'm gonna take you into checks okay that's the way you got to look at this you're gonna stop with the buildings in the bodies and the chimneys in the joes that's you gotta stop this is girl is stop okay how long is the middle to bid here 10 years now 10 years can you imagine he's already been here 10 years that's off the top of my head what was his first move oh I broke mixed failed he broke mixed fail on the clentak in here okay okay look at the next five years so what's he doing open up the check well we'll just wear it go it off here they can't even spend money right okay guys they here's the bottom end of this is the minor league system sucks it always has suck it I'm telling it my whole lifetime there minor league

the big four it came up I think that happened one other time in my life time and it wasn't four guys okay the other eight team four guys they've always had to buy their players yep because they're it's you that is the heart that is the blood pumping through this thing is the form system they ignore okay they know it magically came here when when you already came here and what's what does he brought to us see this he's gotta think but I know it's not something guys but I'm telling it so what do you want to do run you want to blow it up you want to blow the whole thing up boom what did I tell you before to see the story last year I said this time let's sell it all yeah had but guess what years the other problem on the other side I told you last year not this year last year you've got to sell everything if they nailed down you got to sell well Ron the problem is they're running at a time

because they did this with the the the oh the oh wait team they waited they waited till those guys had no value they got nothing back for ron's they got nothing back for oddly they kept they kept towered until the wheels fell off I mean they're gonna they're gonna do it again I mean we all see where this is going they've already done it right under your nose they've done it what is called trade counter why he's in movable they'd have to pay to get rid of him they got a big a team to take the half that contract he stinks I get it Joe but you're missing my point if you don't make that mistake in the first place we're not talking about I know they don't run they don't run they can't run eliminate stand I told you the things are smoking mirrors the organization is what they're good at is PR and advertising and marketing that's what the fillings are excellent at yeah and this is why I've been this is why I have a major problem listen I'm gonna explain my real quickly okay I hate my government but you know what I love

your country I get it I get it yeah well I love my fillings I love that uniform but the clouds and the welfare cases get a walking around there while we're watching this flock year after year you've got these special advisors they might really study that baseball welfare that's what it is this isn't joke and these white kids so upset with this because I love my fillings I love baseball and we're not watching baseball as yes you I'm with you get rid of him get rid of him why did you sign that catcher for how many twenty five million dollars a year it's brutal it's a it's a run it's a brutal contract he can't hit anymore at all and he can't hit the best thing he does now is challenge pitches and let's be honest and I I like JT I've always liked him but the his best asset now is tap in his helmet and saying that was just right not a ball it's the best thing he does 15 million dollars a year and I know and let me tell you about Mars I said watch let him be hot I'll leave him alone but I'll take

what I can get out of him and what did he go he flipped right back to who he really is yeah he did this is what I'm saying I think guys this whole thing nothing is going to help this because in glory middleton is at the top he's going to get 10 years of bad and now he's put you in such bad because of he's listening to that clown the GM that guy he needs to be out of here but he even and that's what scares me middleton doesn't see the running on the wall there's kind of stuff standing here tell me about this well it's it's a joke well he well here's a problem and wrong we preached a phone call I middleton he he it's his track record speaks for itself he likes to have an old baseball guy holding his hand that that's the way he operates the organization is he Gillick to Mcfale to middleton so as much as we want um not middleton Nebraska as much we want Nebraska out of here he's not going to fire him he's going to extend him and if he did fire and he's going to find the next old guy who wants something in the 90s or the 80s and bring him in that's the MO he doesn't feel comfortable this guy was born during nom let's love and run the team

all right changes we're talking about changes you Douglas of course throwing out big changes let's hear from some guys who either think they should be changes could be part of let's start with Kyle Schwarber he doesn't believe you Douglas he's not with here there should be mass changes here's Schwarber after the game I don't think our groups like the type group that you can say ages gonna be a factor I think that our group is more than capable of running out of games and funnier way back here and being with us team at the end of the year so I'm looking forward to the it's hard to say because well guy loves Schwarber he's not the right person to get that answer from he's the leader of the team you he says he changes yeah right and he's who's inadvertently if he says we need changes he's throwing his teammates under the bus he's not going anywhere no so I I don't buy it I mean he's just being the team leader guy who says I believe in my guys in this clubhouse I don't buy it now one guy that might be out of here I'm curious I think the temperature might have changed for some

people in the city it hasn't for me I still don't want to back but he certainly was better down the stretch and the biggest reason you know with the hidden game too that they got the win let's hear Alec boom does he want to be back forget if it was one him would he want to come back here's boom I don't really know it's me honest with you yeah I don't really given any ton of thought but yeah I really honestly don't even know to be honest with you stepping so like do you want to be back you expect to be back again you know how do you how do you look at that you know you think you're gonna be much better to be honest with you I have no idea what to expect but I would love to be back they would have me back but like I said definitely feel like we have unfinished business here and the apartment it's a ton for sure

I guess a lot of it's out of my hands but when you make a boom's comments there he knows where he is he made it clear that he wants to be back but I think the consensus is I would like to have him back but I don't he's done enough to be back but I don't think that's where they're at with this you know because I think unfortunately for him it's a little too little too late type situation yeah you know and he had a lot going on but you know this is a this is a this is a fickle business man so I don't think he's come back I don't want him back the only thing I could think there's a reason why there's a chance if they do move Turner to the outfield they're kind of reshuffle in the hole in the field they may need an infielder and you know I don't know what they're going to do with the whole situation with a rise where stocks gonna play if Aiden Miller they could count on him so I think there is a chance this happens I think there's way more of a chance there was two months ago but I still think he's not gonna be I wonder what he would command and like you don't know I I well I mean I don't know if we have a salary cap but like let's say that we don't right so

we operate where we are right now two years 20 million 30 million like he gets like a rise money but for third base I would be interested in that yeah I don't think I don't think he's gonna get a lot I mean he had a pretty dread I know he got hot at the end but like his overall numbers all we miss is 30 home runs well how can we survive we can are you talking to me out there 30 home run prediction oh you take a shots again let's get in there catch straight yeah well we are I mean no but I think I think I think it I think that he played he was he was a he was a big time contributor oh okay maybe that was a little bit well down the stretch he played he was a contributor he was more of a contributor down the stretch yeah but the first four months yeah it was tough yeah and I think that when you talk about the ability or the willingness to kind of kind of change a game a little bit I like that aspect well he played first and third yeah I like I like that aspect because I think I think what got us in trouble and Scott alluded to it I don't but I don't I don't know if it's the players

fought it's more so up top when he talked about there was unwillingness to ask guys to do certain things now that that's a problem Joe yeah it is especially when you're talking about an all hands-on deck situation not feeling comfortable or not having the stones to ask somebody to do something different the other thing to to note on this boom situation and we'll talk about it as this offseason goes on it's not a good free agent class there's not many good options so that they may be forced back to this even though they're trying to get out of it for years all right one more let's hear Bryce Harper talking about the club and how my look next year are you worried as it's group gets older that it might not happen just because you know guys get older and performance starts to fade at some point well I don't know I can't really answer that question you know we haven't played the games for next year anything else so each year so different than the year before so I don't really put stock into years before or what happened or anything else you know this was a brand new team obviously we had the guys that are part of

that core groups that we are I'd imagine the scene is gonna look a lot different next year the guys that are kind of leaving this club us so we'll see it's a lot to say for the guy who well you know I'm not picking on you but it's a lot to say for a dude that didn't leg it out right somebody yelling at you you know you feel like that see that I think that's part of the problem too you're you're real comfortable real real comfortable talking about other folks and not talking about yourself like that that's a problem for me you're real comfortable having something to say about other other moves in the organization but but ain't nobody asking you about some of the stuff you did well it's it's similar to the maddenly answer right like Schwabber said love maddenly want to back we said we have the right guys don't you think it's kind of ironic I'm not gonna answer the matter of the question and we need changes don't you think it's kind of ironic that you wax poetic about teaching your son how to be a stand-up guy like and yesterday when you talk about how you made a mistake and then you had a moment to correct that and then the next day

the absolute next day you don't lay one out and ain't got and ain't got well number okay to in his defense nobody asked him about it I don't think he wasn't asked about it right and you offered up your your thoughts on other folks what I find interesting about this is this morning Ken Rosenthal one of the biggest baseball insiders out there right echoing a sentiment from Hugh Douglas I'm reading a column this morning about the fillers and how he thinks they need to shake things up and here he throughout the idea that the players should have some open mindedness to moving either Turner Schwabber or Harper in the article he talks about how trade because of his play and his no trade clause and his contract might be immovable right they just might not be able to find anyone that would take trade Turner talks about how Schwabbers the heart and soul the team the leader also only a D.H. right so sometimes that have D.H. is they're going to be boxed out of that they might not be able to move him or want to the one that he's that he wrote the most about in this column like he expounded on is the idea of trading Bryce Harper and while he said it'd be difficult no trade clause Harper might want a contract extension from his next team if you accept a deal he did he did mention

by name and he was just speculating recklessly but I'm going to read from the article quote for Harper to say join the New York Yankees Boston Red Sox or in a long shot the athletics who will play one more season in West Sacramento before moving to his hometown of Las Vegas in 2028 he likely would require a contract extension interested teams could view Harper as either first baseman or right fielder feels like a pretty substantial reckless speculation just it seemed like I don't know I don't this is the second straight off season we start where there's some at least feeling out there that maybe the end of the road's happening between the Phillies and Harper yeah I mean and I understand that I'm in prayer like probably a lot of people out there are met because I brought it up and they probably now I don't get over it I know I mean definitely that's what I'm about to say I mean you don't know better but I you'll be all right I'm not going to lose no sleep over how you feel but you have to shake this up and it kind of bothers me where what I like to call you're you're being a selective leader because you can't and I might be making more of that then it needs to be made but it's a lot to digest coming off of the way the season ended and the fact

that you're not that you're not that you're not endorsing anybody you know you have a lot to say about what everybody else doing but not what Bob what you're doing so yeah that that bothers me a little bit that's that feels a little bit not being self-aware I'm not reading the room I agree I think everything's on the table 215 592 949 for all your phone calls coming up plus Eagles are practicing right now we have the latest on the injury situation not good not good for two of the guys and one of them I feel like what is happening in the practice field right now might mean a definite for the game on Sunday we'll explain next midday show on sports radio 94 WIP back midday show you Douglas Joe Julie guys with us 215 592 94 94 you want the news on Eagles injury reporter now oh yeah give it to me okay they are practicing right now no sign of Devonte Smith or Zach Bond now the Smith one is not surprising the reports came at him at a Slesley said very unlikely we're going to see Devonte on Sunday but the bond one is notable because you have to have a practice to get through the protocol right if you're not

good enough to practice they don't get you through the protocol so well you know the perhaps there's a chance he he's out there and was mister who'll come out late but he'll if if it plays out that he's not practicing he's not going to play in the games on the yeah that's the tough part about it you know it being Friday like today is kind of like a walk through kind of deal it's more predicated if you practice on wins in Thursday right but specifically for the protocol yeah yeah you don't it you know I'm talking about Devonte for the most part outside I'll tell my Devonte yeah we're born if he doesn't have a practice he cannot clear the protocol so it's just the rules of the NFL it's it's kind of the opposite last week with Tyson Beijing was we were following that with Eagles Bears he practiced Saturday I guess it was so then he was eligible to play obviously he was the backup that night but but it's the same kind of thing so it doesn't sound like bonds going to then sound like Devonte is going to play and it sounds like Sunday is going to be a big challenge for the fold-off Eagles yeah I mean we knew that anyway yeah I mean we knew that like even if they were playing that was gonna be a tough challenge so you know it's it's one of those things where you know and I know you hate when I say this but you got to get the job done you got to try to

try to figure out how to get the job done because because they have to because they have to do they have to this isn't a nice win game this this is a must win from the standpoint of this is a must win game from the standard dogs this is a must win game from the standpoint of and and this is me again I always got a purpose it with this because you know a lot of times people don't listen to what's being said and they kind of just taking a run with it from the standpoint of me feeling like there's a lot of angst in that building right now so I feel like you know winning saps all wounds always or you know why all this speak speaking to that you know what's the irony of big creepy last night winning that game what's that is that like he a few weeks ago we were we were debating and talking about how the the Browns fans should we shouldn't start him because they don't like you get a heater they probably still do it was hard to tell last night well they won yes that's that's the point that I'm

making he performed to at least to a decent yeah he was decent and and that that place was loud and rockest well they want to win yeah but but that that's what I'm saying Joe winning helps cure all those ails I never get when Josh told we were we were in the we were at SPN and he said something I forgot what is but we was about the Eagles and he said winning saps all wounds does like deodor so that's what that's what we need because what's gonna happen if there's already something faster and underneath if there's safe instance just going off of what what Seth said if that there's a rift between the coaches and in the play calling there's a good chance that there's going to be if it goes south there's going to be a rift this weekend and only thing it's going to that that crater is going to get bigger it's going to get bigger and then the first thing you know somebody gonna say something and we're gonna hear it and we're gonna talk about it and it's gonna get oh oh like Kyle send me alarms this that's why you got to win this game man you got to win

not to be and I told you so Julia but this is why Kyle and I were trying to tell everyone week one against the commanders was a must win because I could see this on the horizon bears on the road I didn't even know Caleb would be hurt and then the Rams if we didn't win with the must win game in week one guys would be staring one in three in the face at least two and two all right we could we could recover from it I mean yeah but it's it's different now it's a little different in the sense that I think that early on it would have been one of those things where if we'd have lost you know we would have talked about it but it would have helped them see where they are and you know keep it moving forward I think this one just beat down that they took I gotta tell you and the fact that it happened a way to do it yet yeah shaking in his boots Douglas is a new one but he you're scared dude he's sweating it's like you know I could feel it I hate both of you all you know do that because that's not what I did I'm giving you some hard hitting analysis and I've giving you I've giving you clues I've giving you some stuff you close yeah I've given you I've give you things that you want but you just don't want to see you usually you're the captain the Titanic going down with the ship you're like the first person saying water's coming in water's coming

in the scoop is right walking the line walking the line y'all remember that green mile walking the line yeah walking the mile walking the mile that's a good movie yeah it was I can I can feel like the studio shaking from I know walking the mile I'm gonna get to the pregame show I'm gonna have to be I'm gonna be the rock on Sunday let's go to Mark and Woodbury Heights what's up Mark a lot of people Sunday what's up what's up what's up my lag to him Sunday oh great hey Mark guys how are you what's going on man you know I just real quick I agree with you it is a must win on Sunday for the Eagles the snowball is starting to be built but anyway the fillies what's the number one problem why are they in this position they can't hear they can't hit it's this it's one of the worst offensive teams at baseball which is per it's crazy they can't hit and in past post seasons you saw basically the same thing right they can't hit so why I don't know oh well I mean I'll

say a couple I will I give my guesses their top players are declining they're not like what they used to be I mean even prices in an MVP anymore is just good hard to turners gone from was supposed to be good to awful and then they're they're middle tier guys never progressed Mark I mean marshes what he is boom has hot and cold months but he you know he kind of is what he is and it's the same thing with stock so their best players don't like they used to and their middle tier guys are not very good well here's the here's a synopsis of trade turners theory some of you guys said this or not he had eleven of that he saw four pitches per that he didn't walk and he swung at more pitches out of the strike zone that then we're in the strike zone and that's a microcosm of this entire baseball team and let me ask your question and it really is this simple and it's utterly ridiculous would you throw these guys strikes never never especially turner especially

turner so how how weak and stupid is the people running this offense right if this was the Eagles these guys would be crucified you know okay is it Kevin Long is it maddenly was it topper is it what's the philosophy why don't these guys swing at good pitches why do they swing at bad pitches who's there is anybody gonna ask them Braski this question is it going to be addressed because it happens every breaking year it does I mean mark it's it's it's it's so easy to pitch to them and that's the embarrassing because it shouldn't be easy to pitch them mark we preach the phone call you're right just quickly on I two thoughts on trade turner or one the stats his last 14 playoff games in a Phillies uniform this dates back to game five NLCS 2023 against

a diamond back so the end of the diamond back series the met series in 24 Dodgers and 25 braves in 26 last 14 games 14 five batting average with a 164 slugging percentage and this is the way this is pitchers hitting against off the joke and the fact the Phillies just let him hit the top of the order it's the it's the most entitlement I've ever seen with an athlete how the hell is he hitting the top of the lineup it's it's embarrassing you should call the bum why call the bum now he already fell on the sword yesterday he let it be known that you know he didn't call himself a bum we call himself a lot Billy he's right about that he he called himself a lot Billy the last thing on the trade thing you know I always think about the Dodgers traded for him and had him and you know what they did they didn't even off from a contract that we should have but we should have had a sense of this three years ago team that pays everyone every the smartest team with the most money was like fillies knock yourself out you want to give him 11 years take it to take him for 11 years 215 592 94 94 all right coming up we'll get to your phone calls on

served but you know when people try to apologize for the Phillies going backwards you're well they made the playoffs five years ago it's never been easier to make the playoffs six teams make it now you know like when they made it five you know if they made it five years or another points of baseball history that's way more impressive you know the opposite was kind of that team the the Howard Utley team and Rounds like if they had an extra wild card they would have made it probably in a maybe 0 506 and then seven and then eight like that team was in the upper eighties wins every year than the 90s for like six or seven straight years this team I mean all right I mean and then actually to make it five straight years it's an accomplishment I just don't want to hear like all you know here's what here's what I'm preemptively upset about the brosky or middle Tim will say it next week we made the playoffs it's ball it's not that impressive I mean two of the other kind of well twice was the 60 yeah yeah I mean to get in the playoffs is still in the but can I get upset if Timbrows get you the next week okay I'm not saying you can't get upset but what I'm telling you is it's still in a constant well it because you can want once what's the

expectation you know what it is that exactly that's what it is it's it's like when you say that for saying for instance if the Cleveland Browns get into the playoffs now that's pretty good that's that's an accomplishment they suck but if you're if you're doing this and you're down this path every year and you progress a little bit worse it doesn't care the same way also they have a $300 million payroll so like this should be the baseline the six seed 88 wins that's not that's not super great no okay I'm glad we put that out there before them brosky and noise being next week it's gonna happen though but see it and what I'm trying to do and it's calm you down because it's gonna make you sick you should actually write out of the brosky pick a card we should do that next week we made it to the playoffs like because that's how they think we should work like most cast we like our club we like our club that's baseball uh-huh short series you know that kind of thing anything can happen we weren't the worst at so and so yeah well I did see a stat this morning that they're batting average in the series I think it was brave 232 Phillies 231

he'll throw something sort of crap like that out there but if you look at it it was same batting average in the series oh really Dave that's great all right before we go back to the phone lines we do some pretty big NFL broadcasting news you Douglas Tony Romo and CBS have officially parted ways you know Romo got in trouble in the summer yeah they kind of back for his job a little bit well they put him on the shelf and then he didn't he put a statement out that he was going to get help and with it within the statement I thought he I thought he put CBS on the spot yeah he put it back because he said you know I'm paraphrasing but something to the extent of once he gets himself right he is excited to rejoin CBS and it's like not and continue his role and and I I didn't hear them say he had a role of CBS and he doesn't anymore this is parties over yeah oh that's yeah that kind of that's kind of fitting yeah well Tony yeah well too little too much partying my thing is this man at a certain and you make a he make a ton of bread yeah ton of bread why are you driving like

I'm not like listen what you're you I know you you have issues and and that's that's one thing but when you when you you got a potential a fumble of bag like that don't get behind the wheel yeah I'm obviously Tony could afford a driver anyway yeah man you know even like say fences when I'm hanging out when I hang out and I know that there's a potential that that I'm gonna it's out of the either or for me if I go out it's one of two drinks that's it if I'm driving one of two drinks that's that's the minute maybe three if it all depends but after that third one it's time to go home yep if I know that there's a chance that I'm gonna be drinking I don't drive at all it's not worth it it's really not worth it I rather be drunken and over talking crazy then to be behind the wheel trying to explain to my explain to somebody who I am and help me out you know what I mean I'm not doing that you two owe for that 55 and up well it's two over for any age to begin to do you out now with days with so many different options to drive but when you're an older person you you need to do better you really need to do better look there's a lot to the story I mean he he seems like he has

some some real issues right he's talking about paying medication being on dependent on it so look he's got he's got to take care of himself as far as his role I I saw this coming when these networks not take you out and they replace you and they don't have a date you're coming back you're not coming back they've moved on they got one in number one spot they got our guy Ross talker number two that they and I don't think just from the broadcasting perspective he was that great anymore so not not that I think that they are happy this happened but I think CBS probably looked at it says we can get out of this deal let's just get out of the deal unfortunately what kind of stinks I there's not much juice I'm with I feel a two Kyle's I'm much juice to the booth with him and nants or Ross is you know looking at his name to blossom a little bit yeah could he be the new number one maybe I mean I I think Ross is very good not just because we know I'm I think he's very good to get too big for us he's like yeah yeah I was about you you call you beat me to a cow because now they were this news now we are we still we still got Ross on the hill be with us yes on Tuesday not getting brand new all right he's seen a lot of people get brand new I also I wonder if next

year if if CBS tries to steal Greg Olson and make him the number one yeah because yeah he got slighted at five yeah yeah he's he's to me he's got better though Brady has gotten better Brady got better kind of quick well actually things Fox has two number one voices Brady's a number one and Olson's a number one yeah but Tony Rumble out of CBS oh let's go to will in Kate May what's up Will how are you guys good will what's up I want to talk about the bears gang okay I want to blame number one blame is on mr. Oom you know mr. Who I think you know you know mr. Oom is right um oh um I mean it's harder than I mean Sean's every other word is um um um um I'm like oh my god man you're driving me nuts but anyway number one was on him how could you not run the ball when you had holes that I watched that you could run through remind me of when the Eagles had a good

offensive line and in the second half you run it four times yeah that wasn't great I mean so I hear you and I agree they should have run it more they also were down double digits in the second half with the defense that couldn't get off the field so positions were positions were not in their favor with the clock wait a minute wait a minute am I wrong that it was seven ten going into the second half and Eagles got the ball yeah but okay sure after that possession the quickly became 20 to seven yeah all right whatever and then as far as defense is concerned um you know I respect stuff during a lot I do what he has to say and he's got it very well he said you know you got the best defense of the line in the world but if you're not pressing the corners what good is it and there was no pressing the corners I understand why I vicked at it he's trying to stop the run which is a good job so I didn't you know ace is on that but you know when you're not working when you're leaving the whole middle of the field open and five yards in between every receiver it's

just not right it's not right and I think thick the difference that they're going to be in the Rams game is Zick doesn't respect Keenum but he'll respect Stafford and I think he'll have his guys more on top of the line there that he did against the Bears and I don't know we'll see we'll see what's going to happen I think he just can beat the Rams um depending on how they run it but they better run the ball and they better press the corner well I figured you on having to run the ball this week because we got to we got to shorten this game we have to keep the ball I mean I well I'm I'm concerned about the defense right now because they're living without bond um and they're not I mean jihad is a mess right now the safety positions of mess and McVe is going to take advantage of it so I we got to keep them off the field but the path to a win will I agree he would I agree they got to run the ball this week they got to keep the Rams offense off the field yeah as far as the uh you know he didn't respect Keenum I quit like dude like you know that like Mike quick dropped a stat last week before the game started that against big fan Joe's defense

against Keenum was o and three pretty wild stat yeah so that that like over yeah yeah I didn't either I didn't either and to say to overlook somebody you can't overlook anybody in a film man so I don't think so I so I to your point to Hughes point I don't think he overlooked him I do think my guess is Vic Hugh thought that they were coming out and running the ball I think he got caught off guard by Ben Johnson's plan yeah yeah I don't I don't think he disrespect and will good phone I don't think he disrespected um Keenum but I do think based on Hugh the game last year when the Bears ran it based on the fact that Keenum hadn't played that much yeah he thought he thought that we're gonna run yeah yeah I think Ben Johnson just totally ran circles around our coach staff on Monday yeah he got like that that that quit hitting offense early on man had a mosquitos yeah it had a mosquitos and and it felt like they never recover from that it felt like the Bears basically did whatever they want to do offensively I agree um and look I know Vic is the defensive guy and and Manian he called him the um god is does Manian do a lot of

ums and is talking I haven't really felt that maybe he does not and and and and and and guys aren't like public speakers they're just their coaches one he's also just brand new it having to talk every week right is that you know what we'll say I mean now I'm gonna think about it when I hear Manian speak the other thing that that stood out from Monday and we're gonna see it again this week the last two times the Eagles faced a great head coach I would say is Shanahan in the playoff game and then this game Johnson we're getting how coached I mean I I know there's less seriani people out there but the last two times we face the guy that's like one of the best Shanahan the playoff game and then Ben Johnson Monday we got thoroughly out coach so we got another one coming in here this week that seriani's team has had success against they beaten the Rams I just I I don't want to come in here Monday and feel like it's one thing if they got beat right if their players are just better than ours this week I hope we don't come in here Monday and say this the third straight time they face a good coach really good coach and seriani's getting he's getting dog walked around I mean I don't want to I don't want that yeah it's this game has the propensity to go a bunch of different ways and to be honest it's a lot of a lot of the scenarios look

kind of bad for us it really really does when especially when you talk about going into it and listening to coach say you knew he needs to do a better job of coaching and having a hat of guys prepared the fact that you know we got some linebackers heard the offense is still trying to find its footing the bontay smith out probably is out so there's a lot there's a lot going on with this game this weekend man so that's why some must win you got to figure it out I'm gonna go I got to step up you know I would love though what is a high limit as a big game that after the game is like yeah he he mispronounces your name and you know what with all the respect if he did that ain't nothing I can do but if he gets great you know what if you say that that that old ass dude on on the radio that huge tumblr that used to play I I couldn't do nothing but say hey respect you go doggie yeah if he did that I you know but see that's that's what you do when you're a grown man you don't get in your feelings when somebody you know say something like the greatest drop yeah it would be awesome it would it would you go doggie now that be great and you know what I would

say if he did that hey you got to do it again next week you got it done you got to do it again a little L if that no I would no I would grisly take it to take it graciously but I mean I hate this this is the NFL you got to put in work every week I'm rude for that to one five five nine two that would be Joe what be awesome that would be awesome and that means that we would have a victory money around these parts well that be great I mean yes it'd be great it's not Eagles number one pick has his first big game we have a new thing we could play on the show tell me to shut up yeah shut up oh man it'd be great I'm I've been waiting for trade turn to tell me to shut up what is played for four years hasn't happened I don't think it's going to happen all right two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four we'll keep your calls going on the other side guess the takes of course use favorite segment plus funny exchange which is Nick Sireani and reporters on the backup quarterback situation is it's still Andy Dalton shouldn't be we'll talk about that next midday show sports radio ninety four WIP October belongs to one team the question is who on CalChi America's number one prediction market platform let's you trade those predictions in a

CalChi trade what's next changes are coming yeah what kind of changes I mean if you Douglas has his way Harper's on the first train out of town we heard that today welcome back midday show all right let's get this in poll questions today I'm I'm very curious at the temperature of the city Twitter question sponsored by the PI dental center your smile is the first thing I see when they meet you learn about and schedule your evaluation PI dental center dot com all right how are you feeling about the foolish loss today sad angry annoyed or whatever here what do you think had the most votes for

say whatever what I'm gonna say whatever 32% 39% whatever I'm gonna rule again but that's the Phillies fall beer best one ever that's the options too I know and they did that usually checks us up yeah that told me off usually which you feel more about the Sundays game versus the Rams confident or nervous nervous 73% 93% nervous wow so the food is considered trading Bryce Harper this off season yes or no yes 58% yes 55% this might be here's best day ever because I'm not saying I made a valid point man it's one of those things where your hardest telling you one thing but your head is saying something different you know Kyle's today might be the day that you went full w IP I really get me that's absolutely great Harper thinks the equal season could unravel now on the Twitter polls he's out of hell of a few weeks saying man in piti's pants yeah our trading Bryce this great I'm not happy to be here but this is

where we are this is where we are and that's not that's not that's not being hyperbolic now will he double down or run scared from the home crowd we have to make our predictions Sunday at 1245 you know it's going to be he's gonna talk I will say this I will say this and this is not being scared but game they hits a little different when the day is actually there so I know exactly what's I here's my prediction for Sunday you're gonna run scared at least gonna tell me that's make serianis better than mcday ice could have pumped the crowd up and there's gonna be hatred or jillios saying 27 17 ramps no it and everyone's gonna boom me as we end the broadcast and you guys are getting everyone should get I tell him here no even though Friday you were scared no no this is what happens Joe hope springs eternal on Sunday right different day it's a different day yeah today this is the way I feel right now when you wake up in the morning and and you know you all those cliches that y'all don't like me to use those are when those kicking right and that's when when when young he dug this thinks about the game and he gets excited for the game he's walking through the parking lot and he's walk way I was fitters we're walking through the parking lot

and I see all those eagle fans and they're getting all pumped up and the kids are throwing the football in every game and you hear out of eagles chance and you and you get stoked so it might be like I'm not saying that's gonna be the case but it's a good chance that that might be the feeling going through the parking lot until we actually start breaking down the game so everyone's listening now that's also gonna be listening during the pregame just know that he was telling you right now that he's going to fly to you I'm not so that he is not know what exactly what's gonna know how I'm a feel Sunday I don't know how I feel Sunday today though I feel today I feel a lot of angst I think no matter what you feel Sunday you're gonna you're gonna play it up no I know see what you what you guys are trying to do is trying to pigeonhole me push yes the paint me into you said something I actually agree with I sometimes I think you could tell the feeling in the parking lot before the game yes not I don't walk around the whole thing right there's a lot of areas of the parking lot but you could just when you pull in and you walk around for a few minutes before we go over to the pregame you can feel it sometimes it's you know it's gonna be a good crowd and it's gonna be a not good day and then you feel angst sometimes I'll tell you another thing that's gonna gonna uh

probably uh dictate the mood at parking situation like like we we've kind of danced around it but boy it's it'll be here Sunday and it it might be it might be a what they call it a show with that other s on the front of it it might be it might be bad man it might be bad and it might be a lot of eagle fans really upset about their parking situation so that that could play into they better win Sunday because it might be hostile it might be a little hostile situation yes I was reading the I guess that a press conference this morning I was reading a little bit about it so they updated the pricing $200 for four spaces $100 for two additional spots maximum of six spaces but that you're gonna apparently they're gonna be assigned specific spaces that's what I'm saying not gonna be a lot of just do whatever they want and and and and when I hear that I've never tailgated but I go through the parking lot and there are certain tailgates Joe you notice that we walk past you're in the parking lot and we see these people every week and they speak every week

it's a good chance that they might not be there and they might be somewhere else and it might it might throw off everything that they have going on I did see a couple quotes here that I guess the tailgators are happy that they at least it was explained to them and they sat down and talk to the officials so maybe it won't be as bad what we'll say let's go back to the phone lines here and then we'll let you would guess the takes for week four in the NFL body and acronym up on wip body buddy hey good afternoon guys what's going on buddy what's up want to just want to apologize for the Phillies they wreck the ice cream I was going to deliver that on Monday I'm sorry you know what I was cool buddy it's on them buddy it's not on you they got to remember sprinkles are for winners yes that's what that's what he says to me every day before we start to show sprinkles are for winners what they're called jimmy's we're sprinkles well I feel team so I'm gonna I'm gonna offer that one again that for the Eagles win I'm gonna bring that ice cream okay I want to bring you guys all Monday okay and we'll get on we have to wait

for the next Eagles win for ice cream we can get no ice cream so we're gonna we're gonna be back from London before we get sparse I'm sorry it's okay buddy it's cool I appreciate it but it's it's just a reality in a situation like Kyle looks like Kyle looks to disappoint ice cream is delicious yes it is yes you know what makes football Friday better what's that ice cream jox straps and chicken wings sure jox actually chicken we that's a hell of a combination why those two things together you I was hoping that you you would kick up on that I read that in your book oh of course oh you're talking no no it was we we were you're talking about the Dott of in thing that was the first thing that Dott of in did when he came into the locker room he had a trap and chicken well we you know what back what chapters this but I'm pulling my copy out right now back when we in the vet right I think nine no it was a back when the vet yeah Andy used to set up like on Fridays we used to have like a like a little you know get together and

you would you would eat your food like you know had chicken wings and cheese steaks and stuff like that and I think it was one of the first times that Dott of in you know was a quarterback Dott of in walked up to the table with just his jox strap on and graph food everybody was looking I might man with the hell are you doing but that was one of the that was one of the ways that that Dott of in that in a sense endeared himself to the to the team because it was just why it was the wildest thing because quarterbacks don't do stuff like right you know they're always button up and for Dott of if you could imagine that Dott of it walked through the locker room with just his jox strap on ass cheeks hanging out eating was like it was ridiculous you pictures that often yeah no I do not do not go the audience now I was victory and later as a line here when buddy said it I like it it took me back because everybody's like what the hell's wrong with you back to Dott of it's but she's hanging out yeah I played with guys yeah that that was you know I am I buddy I am playing to read Hughes book on our flight to London and then we could talk about it once we land but I am I am I am interested in this there's a chapter called Jackson villain here yeah these stories should

be pretty good we'll get to those all right go ahead buddy well all I want to do is say have a great weekend I appreciate you guys always let me on I'm sorry for that chicken wing thing if somebody was actually having something enjoying oh man that be all man people so so flicking nowadays man stop being so snow yeah that's a problem buddy we love you man have a great weekend you won't even eat a hot dog normally I know who me I mean I do I just don't eat them the way y'all eat them when did you stop like when the Clizzy thing becoming thing in your head because you I mean when you're young you had to eat a hot dog like a regular person no I didn't because you know what even when he's good to the ballpark because the ballpark has the best hot dog for whatever reason I'll know if it's the water or whatever it is but I used to squeeze them right with the ball around the bun yeah okay and then taking part that sounded real strange when I said that's when you start that we didn't took the ballpark no in the bun I hate that I I walked right into that well I was holding until he told me no I'm not gonna make it the rest of segment no no because never

I forget it all right because at this point I'm leaving it explaining because you're out of the you're out of the guy what you want it I've been 3d printing you're out of the guy what you want it so forget it I don't even know need for me to go down that rabbit hole all right I'm just wondering do we do we throw the husband dropping here or just wait for that one say wait for it I want to be on TV with my husband yeah you know I love I love that that's become the drop that most people talk about it and they will bring it up hey where's your husband hey man okay fine thanks for listening you know what I'm expecting I'm fully expecting when we get to the airport on Tuesday and we're flying out I believe what a bunch of Eagles fans right oh it's coming I just imagine you in the terminal just sitting there trying to mine his own business hey you would raise your husband up he's not coming along with it yeah yeah that's probably what happened yeah and he was not gonna handle particularly well and I'm gonna be no I'll be pretty mellow well plan on being pretty mellow on this flight it would help yeah well aren't you guys all guys are on a bit of an interesting flight yeah I think we're flying out with all the fans

fans fill it oh we're fine I would the fan yeah oh it could be great it's gonna be gonna be nice and rowdy we'll talk about your husband on the flight well hopefully I'm gonna be rowdy I'm probably be you're leading the Eagles chance no I'll be asleep okay so the lowest pass we're gonna be they're gonna be loud Jan every five minutes what the loudness is probably will probably be an issue but I'll probably stop at a chicken piece and uh you know have a couple adult beverages sure you know to try to loosen up a little bit well we do have a we have the late we have a late flight 10 p.m. yeah 10 10 we're flying out yeah a lot of time to get back up well I know the show ends at two yeah I probably get there a little early and you start packing yet mm-hmm okay mm-hmm I'm a pack today usually an early pack well it's not it's it's not like I'm gonna take a whole lot I was just trying to get a feel for what the weather's gonna be like probably take a hoodie or jacket because they say it gets a little nippy at night so you know it probably do that and uh you know I looked at the weather it's gonna be cool in London next week's low 60s 50s yeah so it's probably yeah yeah probably take a couple you know I like that no shorts

you know no t-shirts so you're going over his packing list here all right yeah great let's get to guess the takes yeah for week four all right every week we try to guess what everyone is talking about on Monday now here you've been on a little bit of a heater you want to start us off I mean this is you said this segment is your least favorite I think you're starting to like this segment oh man I'm telling you I think and I've also been on a heater for the most part on Thursday night football here we go I picked the browns to in a row I'm gonna run and I tell you what man I think people don't sleep on the browns that's gonna be to take don't sleep on the Cleveland Browns and big creepy um creepy baller man well it's plain okay big creepy got a big creepy win it big creepy there were the three one yeah yeah I'm snoring on the brink I'm not buying it okay I might that might that might help me on this this survivor will sleep on it for what like the division you mean I think that yeah I think they're going to vision I think they're gonna challenge for the division don't sleep on them to challenge for the division over Baltimore yeah okay all right all right it's

your take all right I'll take you yeah I know I know I'm all done all fired today all right I'll go with this one one of the more interesting games of the weekend two undefeated teams the chiefs and the Raiders I think the Raiders are for real now I don't think they're gonna seal the division or win 12 or 13 games but I think they're they're not bad anymore and I think they're gonna compete in this game this distracts me as a fuel goal game and I think the other part of the take you're going to he locally is going to be how the how do we let Nicobie Dean leave Nicobie Dean has been maybe their heart and soul yes of that Raiders did you see the clip ahead and they're talking about they got to protect the ball and protect your soul they got one race we missed that guy it would be a big win for the Raiders just like being the game if they're if they're in the game and then it touched down the fourth quarter it is a big I think they're going to be I think they will because that you talk about a guy who when you see and you know that he was he like damn he he has been he has been starward for that defense thus far doesn't it feel like every year there's a bad team that gets a new coach and the changes fast I think a lot of people thought it was going to be the giants and John Harbaugh but dark it and her through the whole thing up I think it might be

kubiak in the Raiders they just have a different field of them I think they're going to be in that game against the chiefs are a Kyle what do you got I've been considering dropping this one for a few weeks I don't know but I think the NFC North is the Vikings division to lose that's what people are that you know it's funny I was looking at like just in four weeks the one that like looking at the top 10 defenses in the last four weeks Vikings number one they're I mean they should roll my amy they should roll so I'm looking at their schedule they get the Saints next which is an interesting game but they they probably favored in that game if they win this one the crazy part is they're not scoring any points it's all defense I'll make there of the other bears matchup interesting well they beat him once right they beat him once they could beat him yeah I mean look if they get to four and oh that's that could be a favorite in the division all right that's a good one let's go to Joe in the Northeast up on WIP Joe Joe Joe just sleeping all the browns and sleeping on like everybody else waiting Joe's doing besides taking a little nap well he wanted to talk about the pitching plan you think he wanted to bring back Taiwan we're not think he was talking

about they should have started will and maybe maybe that's what I think a lot of people feel that and ultimately but that outcome probably would have still been the same probably like we'd have probably if we had got past this game what are we gonna do in the next I don't even know if they win the game if they start we yeah yeah kind of like Joe's background noise as part of the show now like that we just decided what Joe's take was it had a had a had a conversation with him anyway if people just call in we read what they want to say then we talk about it as if they're on the show with this right okay we'll go back to Joe see if he's okay I mean Joe's usually a great caller I mean I expect them to be great when we go to him and happens let's go to swank who's up on WIP what's up swank hey Joe how are you hey swank what's up man well I sort of a bit it relieved by totally pissed well I can't still understand is Dumbbrowski doing this for three years with the same crew the other two things that get me is we swing at anything out there we're never we're going to go deep so that's a relief maybe that it'll bring it to their attention

and lastly I do not get if you go back remember Harper this what great teams do I don't think they get it I just don't think their attitude right the way they partied after winning that other game I would have went like I come on we got to lay in a two Tuesday let's let's let's scare them I you know I just think their whole attitude I think they think they're better than they are I agree they do and swank they they seem to just think that it's going to happen for them without doing everything they need to do to make it happen like that they don't they don't act like they're desperate they act like I will you know we'll get in and win one of these years and their time is running out it's running out on them the time's gone I mean two three years ago we should have made moves our pitching is unbelievable and if you look back at the last four or five years with our you know pitching over those those those years we should have had a world of one world's years maybe two I agree it's going to be looked at swank you're right and we're

going to look back as they blew it I mean they had and specifically for me it's white good focal 23 I mean 23 was the year up to like it was going to get the one diamond backs coming back here up three two Texas Rangers the world series it wasn't like there's a juggernaut on the other side that Rangers team was fine but the fillers would have been the favorites in the series and they choked it away and they just choked it away and and as far as wasting the pitching you they are it's it's a shame I mean the other part because we were talking about like they have to be honest about who they are mm-hmm how many more years are they going to get this good of pitching where they all stay healthy and I know Wheeler got hurt last year but for the most part they've gotten a lot of starts at these guys Wheeler Sanchez Lazardo I don't know I don't know how many more years are going to get that so it's a shame because we might look back and say they had this run of these three years I just great start and we had all this great pitching and nice yeah that's going to be tough yeah and they didn't hit enough during those times we got Joe's show back let's go to Joe in the northeast what's up Joe hey Joe you how you doing hey Joe what's up I was

talking about the use of Wheeler mm-hmm you know first of all they were saying these pitch on three days rest well would you get down to hours how many hours is this three days 72 isn't it 24 times three 72 yeah right okay so when he finished up pitching on Sunday I hear only one six earnings game was 230 just say it was over 530 so if you go from Sunday to yesterday at 530 that was 40 that was not that was 96 hours so I'm getting so so them getting back pushing that short time back six hours that was even more helpful to the filly so and when when he started this year he's never came anywhere he was behind three to nothing so unless you were going to use hoping they would win the game and that he would start against the Dodgers if you don't use him

at all if you're not starting him so he should have started that that that wouldn't change anything of them scoring two runs but you know that was ridiculous because they're left hand it loaded the the the race yeah I know Olsen hits him and I heard of through the on your station so that or the rally has it's it's no yeah who can you hit they on him I mean they on him yeah yeah so you know the put him out there like that and and though you got a good can't hit and I'll tell you they don't they much they must not do too much studying uh and you know here's a picture you know I saw this guy pitch for the Braves a few times a few and they'll be um yeah but he's only he only puts nine games yeah 32 32 years old and the only one that you know cost Warburhead him you know uh the first batter turner he's he's wanting to know uh the pitches

outside he swings he swings at that now he's wanting one and he pops pops the ball up to to the right field so I mean the guys should not be up the top so just in Crawford should be should be the lead off hitter next year and and and and who Luis arrives who who is his agent is it Boris you know I could look that up I don't know if it's Boris I'm not sure who rises agent I mean he didn't get a big contract last off season so I'm not sure who he's got but so I mean unless he unless he has an agent that says that he's going out on the on the on the free agent market why wasn't he signed to an extension uh this year and you know Joe and I think even I heard you say oh we survived you know yeah he has one-e-track power but I'll tell you what he would have faced that guy cur and he would have done a better job they missed him I mean Joe they missed him in the series there's there I mean he's he's obviously a good hitter and and I like I'd bring him back and I thought he played a good second base and never anyone break down the days of rest with the hours

like that and kind of the day game on Sunday first the night game on Thursday yeah I was big Joe's calling BS on the three days rest you know like thing that's been thrown out there calling wheelers soft well I think he's calling everyone saying a cliche cliche Douglass like oh he's on three days cliche Douglass what I catch an off-stray but that's a great bug right here because they have to that's why they're gonna win it's a must win 215 592 90 for you people coming up it is the midday show on sports radio 94 WIP oh yeah it is that time of the day I wonder what the temperature is of the you people audience today as as we reacted the end of the fully seasoned Kyle what are they got so I watched that crap last night and now I got to listen to you and some idiot in a hoodie really at least that's crazy yes well you don't you don't have to listen you're choosing to listen and we appreciate that but like yeah definitely appreciate not just yeah also just like we all chose to watch the Phillies last night it was your choice we all made the choice Phillies choice is a bad one yep well Joe this team is different but just not the way you met it that's true I

still think the spirit of what I was trying to say is I thought they had more guts and I actually think they did I mean the game they're just not good enough like they could have guts and not be good enough yeah like the 2014 didn't have any guts the way they lost in the New York they just rolled over and died I think this team had some guts they just should a little bit but yeah but not good enough now great the other idiot is back which one well you didn't go anywhere this week yeah was hoping Kyle was fired that's a lot that's a lot that's a lot that's a lot that is crazy yeah I mean you know there seems to be a backup quarterback thing when you're out like they just you know how people fall in love with the back of quarterback yeah like they they Bonnie got a lot of applause yesterday I love you know somebody says she needed a must-ass which was weird well they wanted it to look like you yeah that was weird yeah I thought it was a bit bizarre thing yeah well speaking of bring back Bonnie who isn't a complete jerk okay Bonnie yeah Bonnie you got a couple Bonnie's yesterday yeah Bonnie I had to do the she she she she reprimanded me because I kept saying

Vanny but when you see it spelled is VA yeah and but she got me right I'm like but we like this when you we first met her no no no you know what because you know I'm I'm literal I heard her name yeah but when I saw the spelling you changed I changed it and unbeknownst to her but she told me what it was just goes to go with what people want to know but when I was going with what I was spelled I know like she said Vanny I said my best you are too literal yeah you're literally people know what their own name is yeah yeah I'm sure you're not all right you don't know what your name is are you sure you're not all is yeah are you sure your name is Vanny yeah yeah yeah I basically did the same thing I mean kind of a point of Vanny is not a jerk I am no yeah yeah big time jerk uh Joe Gillio needs to challenge Dumbrowskid his presser reporters are too soft nowadays why don't you so we don't go well you they're usually around the time of our show sometimes we air them live so I can't be there um otherwise sure I would I mean I'd fill in for a couple hours if you wanted to go down and it actually be a good bit awesome can be good got you down there we get we need you down

there hey Dave uh we want to trade braze Harper Dave if you have if you any guts you trade Harper yeah that would be a lot his Harper still leap yeah and he probably you know yeah somebody's got to ask him that yeah I would ask that one we actually just think about this there be I think it'd be really funny if we got to go down there and ask but now they might get mad after a second but they take the microwave yeah we probably got our our credentials you know what they would do they freeze us out that that's not this not just a philis teams have a way if they don't like the questions being asked that person as they get that microphone back after that first one yeah yeah you're the biggest issue yeah yeah hey well it's uh enough about the philis well they just lost yesterday yeah yeah then it was today's the day to kind of get let it all out you asked want us to talk more about the Eagles who you think is gonna get trucked on Sunday not good not good today um so Tony rumour got fired but didn't even eat a croissant what that's true yeah yeah yeah well we speculated about yeah it's not it's not actually fact that he got fired over the croissant photo but it's it's the time illusion though yeah I mean

it was a tough look we can't confirm or deny um being scared of the Rams is crazy we do absolutely have the QB and coach advantage is that from ESP in the chat you know what might they sounds like a ESP we don't have the quarterback or no coach advantage on Sunday yeah but look four and oh against them well yeah they've won without that so that's not it it hasn't tipped the scales of the game but can we be honest please no we know we can't okay uh if they trade Bryce you you can kiss that protein powder goodbye which everyone has been talking about yeah it's right protein powder ain't probably having so as much as no one's talking about besides you I have seen it more in different stores it's starting to become more mainstream yeah at first I didn't like I didn't know if you got it anywhere but online now it's like in the regular grocery store or target I've seen it yeah yeah yeah yeah just you have you bought it yet $60 dollars no we're doing that it's way too expensive that's too much like the sticker doodle does sound good though hey does it does it sounds like it hits yeah he makes 330 million there's no need

to down you know I'm like giving him my six when are you gonna do my 60 bucks can't have it give it to him in my in pennies don't don't don't tempt me well the fills went down like losers the Eagles play Sunday and he starts to show giggling about his browns we all we all felt it and we all felt it listen man can I just say this with all due respect y'all need to go out y'all fillers I don't I don't vibrate on the same frequency that y'all do so when when teams lose and stuff like that it does it bring my day down as much as it does yours well you did grow up a brown fan didn't you I did and also it's I told you so Douglas in a way like call the browns but when last night all well because I you know I lost $2 on these bets and stuff I don't I don't cry for that $2 loss you know I mean so y'all need to get over it man it's really strong of you well it takes people longer to get over it than it's different when you say it out loud it's like $2 what do you talk about I think it was the timing like we come on it's post-mortem it's like you know some of you you kind of laugh when something bad happens to make make sure feel better but not

it's right after no but it's not support like listen man we got we got stuff to do you didn't you like you can't land the bed and wallowing your your you know your fillers because of the fillies lost all we talk about it and we keep it moved oh I mean you think we're talking about we talk about trade and folks I'm going home wallowing yeah the whole weekend so wallowing weekend all right one last one I bet you who's gonna say today well not everything's bad Cassie and Ty Wander still getting paid and I find that fascinating fascinating still on the rough thing do you think Cassiano swatched it with an L president in his hand last night yes he did it and tell my ha I think he did too well didn't win with me didn't win without me stick though so I don't know if he's we had only it's a man only thing I think it's like Dombraski in the fillies the organization right because they moved on from him and they didn't actually went less far this year without Cassie now this is the least the far they've gone he's not on a team right no he's not he's not he's not fascinating I find I do I do find the whole thing fast all right that's it for us today you guys have a great weekend weekend we'll talk to you
