“For many people, renting is a convenient option. It offers flexibility and may require less responsibility for maintenance, but only the home can offer a different set of long-term benefits.”From the transcript
On the 2026 edition of The DL Hughley Show, Jasmine’s “Jazzy Report” covers the Supreme Court allowing the Trump administration to resume deporting migrants to third countries without giving them a chance to argue potential harm, along with reports that severe stress can accelerate aging. The “Question of the Day” centers on what consequences should exist when one parent intentionally keeps a child from the other, sparked by an audio story of a woman who believed her father abandoned her until learning her mother cut him off; callers share similar experiences and debate whether legal remedies should exist beyond court-ordered custody.
In an interview, Chris Spencer discusses being replaced by Sinbad on Vibe, creating Real Husbands of Hollywood and White Famous, and his Jamaican upbringing in Inglewood, plus work with the Wayans and advice from Chris Rock after his show was canceled. Jasmine Sanders also shares a “Top 5” list of workplace antics to avoid, including inappropriate advances, excessive meetings, constant HR complaints, selling coworkers out, and getting caught doing everything except the job.

For many people, renting is a convenient option. It offers flexibility and may require less responsibility for maintenance, but only the home can offer a different set of long-term benefits. Instead of paying rents with landlord each month, homeowners are investing in a property that can potentially increase in value over time. That means your home may become an asset as you continue to live in it. Home ownership can also provide more control over your living space from decorating to renovations that really fit your lifestyle. And here's something that many people don't realize. There are education programs and financial assistance options available for first time home buyers. Some of these programs even offer grant funding that may help cover part of the upfront cost and grants typically don't have to be repaid. That's why learning about home ownership options can be an important step toward making the best decision for you and your family. To learn more, visit toolsforhomeownership.com

I want to go see my dermatologist yesterday. Her name is Pearl Grimes. She's an aka, she's so dope. She's like, get there and they have a fire drill. But nobody told me. I'll say it with your teeth. Man. Right. Dermatologist is not a dentist. Yeah. See, that's how it happens. That's how rumors start. And then so there was a fire drill and I'm like, why am I going down here for the fire drill? Everybody has to go. I don't have to go. I'm not going down there for it, but I ended up going for the fire drill.
And only I could get to a doctor's appointment late and then have to go to a fire drill. But doctor Lavon, I love a lot. But Dr. Graves has probably the best best side manner. This side manner. Yep. She does. She really like, she really act like she's listening to you. No, she does listen. I remember you gave me her information. Well, first of all, I found out. No, you gave me her. Right. But then you reminded me of her. And I don't know if you remember, but I had a little bald spot in the top of my head and I went to see her. And she was like, come here, baby. Let me take a look at that. I was like, oh, I think you feel so good. You're using it. Look like a teacher. You have my hair, look at that. I've been break dancing. Yeah. Jazz was like, like, Sherman Hems. Like, here. Shut up, D.L. No. I didn't have a bald spot in the front. It was in the back. Shut up. Okay. I was reminded to all my sisters out there. Don't wear your ponytails too tight. I got a little bald spot right there. You meant to try it. Oh, okay. You see that? I was eating good food. You mean she never shows you what they call it. Tension out the pizza. Yeah, that's exactly what it is. You have to be very careful. Yeah.
Yeah, don't you say it word? You just move on, okay? I was like, what's wrong with me to clown right here, right? See why I don't tell you no? What's wrong with me? I didn't tell you that. I didn't tell you what it is. I didn't tell you. I didn't tell you no. I said, I don't tell you no. I don't tell you nothing. Look, she got the same haircut as the clown from it. That's it. They, we're moving. Shut up, man. Every day, I want to see it. Let me see that. Holy, man. Oh, my God. I can't tell you. No, she got it together, though. She sure did. She got it together. Thank you. Well, believe it or not, Lindsey Clancy's back in the news. People are talking about that because her husband is asking for an acquittal. And basically saying there's not enough evidence to prove that she killed her children. Shut up. They're disputing that.
Yep. And social media is having a field. They're like, only a white woman can do this. It's the only have a four-white woman. But didn't he also try to get the president to partner with you? Sure did. No, take that. He's a perfect woman. Okay. So it's based on speculation. He's like, where did he admission? Where did she say she did it? Well, he says she didn't. He said all the argument is laughable. So what did he do to himself? I guess. So she could not be held criminally responsible. And of course, going back to the same thing. She's supplemental illness and all the things where they were like, she many here. What does she do? What does she do? What does she do? If she's mentally ill, then what does she can't be held responsible for? If she didn't kill the kids, what is she being held responsible for? Thank you for. Yeah. I don't know. So she did do it. They say that the case should be dismissed on the grounds that the whole Dow juror should have been removed. And the prosecutors haven't even decided they're going to retry her yet. Everything about this case makes absolutely no sense.
None. And speaking of not making sense, have you seen the new KFC commercial? It is. How can I say it? It's very hard and satanic. It's basically like, you know, I can't even describe it. But it's like these people are all sitting around a table. They put these red, I guess, supposed to be a napkin, but it looks like a scarf of some sort over their head before they are offered a chicken that's in the middle. It's just it's bizarre and crazy. And people are saying, don't eat the chicken. Don't eat it. Something's going on with KFC. Something's going on in this country. Don't eat the chicken. Eat chicken foot. But it's hot chicken. I guess that's the whole motif. Yeah. What's crazy is it's really not about chicken. It's supposed to be about this new Louisiana hot burger that they've released. Yeah. I don't know why KFC is serving burgers, but I guess if a burger spot can serve chicken, a chicken spot can serve burgers. It's just this war. You can't put the red sauce on your hair before you can feel that.
Yeah, it's just got to do. And they have them say, you know, repeating chance and stuff. It's really weird, but listen, eat what you want to. I don't. I'm not fooling with it, but that's what's trending. Yeah, well, you'll need chicken no way. It's devilish. I'm good. She's jazz. She's a hot dog. She's smart. It's the jazzy report. I'm an DL. You go. So. The Supreme Court says Trump's administration can resume deporting migrants to countries other than their own without offer them the chance to show the harms they may face. The court granted the Justice Department's emergency requests to hold a Boston based ruling that the Department of Homeland Security's policies to remove migrants to so called third countries is unlawful. The court also agreed to hear arguments in December with a formal ruling on the policy to follow. We are cool. We are cool. Just pick them up and drop them off wherever they feel like it. Yeah, doesn't even matter. People research to say you really can't age overnight. Stressful life events can also speed up the aging process. A vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to cognitive problems associated with the aging within
a few months they say. And there's also the toll of a broken heart, also known as acute stress, cardio myopathy. And they say mainly this affects women of post mental puzzle age. Yeah. Age is going to get you. And then you could do about it. Yeah. You know, at least Jasmine guy alone, I know. Yeah. Yeah. That's a different one. Right. And the different. You know, she, you know, she did, she smoked a lot. Oh, she did? Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. That'll do it every time. You can tell you. Yeah, it's come up stock. You didn't know that. There's another reason. She got more than 40% in her. Yeah, perhaps. She did. She did. All the people that just, she just stayed, man. You know, let's do we always talk about it behind the back. You know, let's say there you go. It's much more. And because I was talking to Jasmine, she's like, well, you know, she's not nice. It isn't untrue though, but it is not nice.
But it isn't back. She could be there. Yes. Yes. All right. This is a very interesting question. I saw this yesterday on social media, you know, lady, and she told us throughout her father, father, a band, or but later find out that it was not true. And it is affected the way she has navigated or relations with men, like, I think that she would be abandoned. And it's a very, obviously very emotional for her. And now she can't rectify that because her father's dead. What's the need to be the consequence when one parent intensely keeps a child from the other? What's the need to be the consequence of that? Because I guarantee you that is a fairly common refrain. I'm not saying it's perfect. I'm not saying it's fairly pervasive. I'm not saying it's the majority of things, but it's not an uncommon refrain. What do you think the consequences of that should be? 877-2422-2426? Many people believe buying a home requires a large-down payment and years of saving. But that's not always the case. Across the country, there are programs designed to help first-time home buyers take the next
step toward home ownership. Some of these programs offer down payment assistance or grant funding that may help cover part of the upfront cost of purchasing a home. Grants are especially helpful because they generally do not have to be repaid. There are also organizations that provide home buyer education, financial counseling, and guidance to help individuals understand the home buying process before they begin. The goal is simple. And then obviously come to find out that it was not true and it is effective the way she has navigated relationships with men. I think that she would be abandoned and it's a very, obviously very emotional for her.
And now she can't rectify that because her father's dead. I know the feeling. We're going to go to our social media platform. What do you think the remediation for that should be? Junior, can you see what they're saying out there? I'm looking at Timmy from Cincinnati and he said secrets always have consequences. Yeah. But I think that that is either parent for either parent. And I know there are so many people who have parents who are dealing with mates who have disappeared and abandoned children. That is terrible and also very pervasive. But situations and I think that that has its own set of emotional drawbacks too. But I think situations like this where you grow up believing that your parent was a certain way be a mother of father come to find out that the author of that story wasn't telling it correctly and they were doing it for their own reasons.
Yeah. And that's terrible. It's a place to happen. I think a lot of times on either side there's some kind of hurt or blame game that's being played. And unfortunately they use a child as a pawn in the game. It's very sad. I'm not even thinking five, ten years down the road when the child grows up and they have this perception of their father or mother, which isn't true. I know there's no legal law unless it's a court ordered situation. There's no legal thing that you can do. But I do think that people pay for it. The only thing that is going to happen is when that child gets older they're probably going to resent you and that in some cases can be punishment enough. I think that if you can make somebody pay a rears and child support and you've emotionally damning somebody like that, that should be some kind of consequence. I just did. I think that it's just not okay because there's what is the deterrent for people doing anything. Things happen because there's nothing to tell them that there's no real consequence.
Yeah. Yeah. And it has there isn't anything. Yeah. I do think that it should be something. It is the deal you could show you a 2026 edition. Take a listen to this audio. My parents were married and then they had me. I guess their marriage was difficult so they later got divorced. I don't know why. I don't know the details. All I know is that they did separated. So I used to be with my mother one week and then I'll go be with my father the next week. Okay. So back and forth. One week my dad never showed up to come and pick me up. I sat by the door, literally waiting and waiting he never showed up. The following week I did the same thing. I did this for months. Okay. He never came. So I felt so rejected. Okay. So quite literally turning to that little girl when I talk about it has changed the trajectory of my life. Okay. So I didn't find out until literally recently as an adult that my father did not abandon
me. My mother cut him off because she was afraid that he was going to take me from her. Now we have discussions like this all the time. And obviously we come at this from two different perspectives but based on our own individual experiences. So you think what about this? Like I said, I know from a legal perspective, there's really not a lot that can be done. Unless it's a court ordered situation. If it's court ordered custody or a visitation plan is in place and you violate that, there are consequences. Outside of that legally, nothing you can do. I do think it's unfortunate because I know for sure there are cases where you're upset or the father is upset and you use the child as a pawn. I don't know what you could do to deter that. I mean, mature relationships. I mean, I have no idea. But again, I do think when the child gets older and they realize that you have lied to
them, I think there will be a lot of damage done to that relationship. And I think that might end up being punishment enough. I don't know. It's a difficult thing. I have a very, I can call it nuance and you guys might think it's simplistic. But I think laws exist because people saw there was a need for something to change in the dynamic, right? That's why laws exist. It wasn't always against the law not to pay child support. There wasn't always against the law. Some of the laws we have in place, all of them came as a remedy, right? Correct. Right. And I think that there is an inherent way that society looks at somebody who's not financially responsible for a child. There's an inherent way they look at that. And what they did was they had a legal remedy for that, right? Yeah. I don't think that there's a requisite view of that in terms of the emotional damage
that parents do. We have laws against abuse. So I think that because we know that things like this happen, we write laws to remedy societal eels to some degree. Right. And so I think on the back of that. You're not going to get carried on. What do you think the remedies for that should be, Juneis? What do you think should be? Well, these are always touchy subjects. I mean, because they're variables involved that we're not exactly sure of, because depending on how the severity of the breakup was or the trauma involved, say, for instance, if it was a rape or something, you know, you just don't know. You would not share that with a child or make up an appropriate story. But if it's just pure malice, then there should be some kind of, um, it can't just be nothing. Yeah. I think that if it were, if it were, whenever something like this is perpetrated, and I'm, this is, we're gone.
So we did, if you say man perpetrating, I think society tends to think that that needs a legal remedy. Yeah. When if a woman is, is primarily perpetrating a thing, it has a different new eyes view. The law feels like, well, that's just something that I have to say. But I know for me, for years and years and years, my mother told me what a horrible man my father was. And when I met him, I had only heard version of it. And when he died, she, when my mother called me, and I'd be even better sandwiched, like Mike, like boo, and when she, I was, I was in New York. I'll never forget she's like your father died. And I was like, oh, I was crying. I mean, she was beside herself. And I was like, my daddy. And she said, I gotta get on with, she's like, oh, no, no, you're biological father. And I'm like, what? Why do you cry for him? But that's what you call me with this cry for this. And then she told me she had always had a relationship with him and he wasn't as bad as she thought. She had put on. Wow.
Now that to me, I'm angered with her now because not only she treated my father crazy, the one who raised me. But she denied me an opportunity to know that man who had been looking for me the whole time. And shaped your opinion of him. And shaped my opinion of the world. Yeah. Oh man. Like I always wanted to be a hero. I never was a hero. I found out that the name I had, the people that I come from, literally, only area I live in now. They came from the south. They built, there's a place in there like called Ballard Mountain. They called it an old town. They changed the battle. They told my forefather that is five minutes from where I live. So you took my birth right away from me. That's not to me. The unfortunate part, it's hurtful. It's horrible. It's a horrible thing to do not only to a child, but to a young man and certainly an older man, period, whenever you find out the lie. Unfortunately, lying is not a crime. We know that just by the the world that we live in. No, it's not. And apparently it is not a crime.
The only way it is a crime is that if you commit perjury, if you lie to federal officials, if you file a false police report or fraud to obtain money, property benefits or anything like that, or any kind of ID lying. But in terms of lying about whether or not this person is this or that in terms of their character, that is not a lie. It's a horrible thing. Now it should be. It should. It should. And a lot of things weren't laws until somebody made them that way. The laws like that have champions. Right. And people who champion a law that have maybe they go to the Congress, they tell stories, they they supplicate billmakers from just because it isn't a law doesn't mean it shouldn't be. Yeah. Oh, absolutely. But I think you you you hit the hand the nail on the head because that isn't it. Someone has a lot of you for that, right? No one has done it. There because there's no extensive. I'm not going to be the one. I'm not going to be one of those. I'm not going to be one of those. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. I'm just saying, I just say I think that it is it is unreasonable to say that this doesn't
have something that I think that should be a legal remedy for. Even for sure. But they can be a civil situation, but you can't know I totally you can be recognized if you're wrecking people's lives and and there's no record points. I think that that's until what do you think the remedy for that should be going right to the phones? The consequences to somebody demonstrating that type of behavior of denying a child a healthy life experience with their own parent, particularly a black girl with their father should be severe. However, no matter what the punishment is, there's not going to be a replacement for those opportunity and time pictures, videos, conversations, cards and other life experiences connected to the healthy development of that child with their parent, particularly a father, those aren't going to be replaced. So no matter what the consequences are, opportunity and time is gone. It is your fault if you were to want to involve with helping to contribute to that type of
behavior, whether you be just a parent or a parent's henchman. First, you know, I feel very sad for the young lady that this happened to. I can't imagine not knowing my father. I couldn't imagine it. I knew both my parents. They raised me and all my siblings and I just couldn't imagine being in that situation, but I do have one that I didn't want to say that. I learned a very long time ago not to get involved in that revenge game because it seemed like that's what happened with her parents. They are playing some kind of revenge game or you know, or whether they meant to do it or not, it affected her in a very negative way. And I feel like what should happen is what is already happening, which is that now the other living parent is going to have to deal with how this child feels about what they did or what both of them did. Now both of them can't confront it. Now it's just one parent that has to confront what has happened. I hope that this young lady does confront the other parent.
I hope that she finds, you know, peace and all that. I learned a long time ago. You don't play this revenge game. I'm a Christian, so I believe vengeance is the Lord. So I just got in my car and I heard the conversation and I can resonate with that because I have two daughters who are one is in her latter 30s and the other ones in their younger 30s and both of their mothers would help them for me for 30 plus years. And they both came to me. One came to me about five years ago and said, my mom finally admitted that she lied about you and she kept me away from you and the other one did the same thing. She said, my mom admitted that she lied about you and kept me away from you. So I'm going through the same thing that most of them haven't going through in that situation and I understand I heard the girls, the young lady's pain who was speaking out on it. So I understand and yeah, so it's a bit too long and right now I'm trying to bridge the gap with my daughters and develop a relationship after 30 years.
My husband is actually going through something similar to that. When we got together, he explained everything to me in the house. His child's mother has a one child support and how the eras and everything and how he was in. He was in his child's life for the first little bit of her life and then the mother just opened left and pretty much told the court that she was scared for her life and made everything private. He didn't know he was right up until we got together and we started doing research and we found out what he actually was right and they got him on a false allegation or they did not fall for allegation. He wanted to take her to court for false allegation for child alienation. His child is 6.30, 16 years old and he hasn't got the see her since she was Bob.
We did our research and we found out what we can do. We can't do court and it's just a whole lot of mess that's going on. When you all were talking about it on the ready, I was like dang, like doesn't exactly look as we go through right now. My parents were married and then they had me. I guess their marriage was difficult so they later got divorced. I don't know why, I don't know the details. All I know is that they separated so I used to be with my mother one week and then I'll go be with my father the next week. So back and forth, one week my dad never showed up to come and pick me up. I sat by the door, literally waiting and waiting he never showed up. The following week I did the same thing I did this for months. Okay? He never came so I felt so rejected. Okay? I still quite literally turned into that little girl when I talk about it. It has changed the trajectory of my life.
Okay? So I didn't find out until I literally recently as an adult that my father did not have been to me. My mother cut him off because she was afraid that he was going to take me from her. So I literally had to grow up without a father thinking that my father didn't love me. So I would go on dating these men who were amazing to me. I've had wonderful relationships and I would literally feel like the love was never enough because my father didn't love me. How could another man love me? What do you think to remedy for that should be going right to the phones? My son is going through the same situation. He pays child support every week. He's caught up on his rears but he can't seem to talk to the kids and has been some months now. I think the last time the kids been over to my house in Anna was last year in the summertime and that was the last time and we saw them.
The last time the mom, I don't know some sort of vendetta, all because she want my son to be with her and the kids. But I have a funny feeling that she's feeding the kids a lot of negativity about their dad and when the only thing my son, he won't reach out or anything. I mean he hasn't reached out. But it's like, I guess I had to wait until the kids get older in order for them to accept me. I said, but whether they don't accept you because of what she's feeding them. So basically, one who's going through it myself dealing with a woman that is basically keeping me from my child. I've been going through this for about three years, four years now and still there's no consequence in the courtroom. At all, he's violated plenty of times and I've never gotten any remedy over it and I tell her all the time that you're going to make this child present you when he gets older because he's going to find out that I've never abandoned him. I say fighting, I say fighting all the time and I'm not going to stop.
But there needs to be some kind of consequence to this. I think the child should be able to see their parents. Yeah, even if the man is a dead-be-father, it should be up to the child to still see their parents and let them figure out what they want to do with their parents. I even let my child make the choice when they were younger. I say, you know what, he's going to find out I'm not going to tell him anything. I'll take care of him and he sees who they care of him. Have you ever thought about the difference between paying rent and owning a home? When you rent, your monthly payment helps cover the cost of living there, but it usually doesn't build anything for your future. Home ownership is different. Each payment you make on a home may help build equity, which is the value you own in the property over time. At that equity grows, it can become a financial asset that may support your long-term goals. Own it a home can also provide stability.
You have a place that's yours where you can build memories, establish roots, and truly make the space your own. And the good news is that many people are surprised to learn there are programs designed to help first-time home buyers get started, including grants and assistance programs that may help with downpayments or closing costs. What the hell? God, this is my problem with you, six-eighth.
You don't empathize with what people paint. Six-eighth, you don't know what it is like to have to put your car in part to put a gate to the podium. You have no idea what it is like to take eighth. Six-eighth, you know what it is. Four of my ten minutes are going to get my phone through the drive-through. With my foot on the brake, I'm like, come on, treat me. This is the thing right now. It's crazy. No, I'm not going to open this door. You're going to reach with me. You're going to tap a bell for paper to zoom around. You're going to pay for it because it's crazy. He is supposed to bring it through here. It's actually a bell. You have no idea that you know what a pain of a **** here you go right there. Back here with it. You've got to receive it. Give it a receipt. Thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you. That is a funny dude right there. It is the DL UGLY Show, your 2026 edition. You were, you were, you were replaced by Simba and Unvi. Have you ever been replaced by Simba and any love relationship? Yeah, I don't think so. It was the time in Iowa. I was trying to think about it like, right in the balloons. This thing comes to mind. And he's like, hmm, that's a great show.
Should we ambiguous child up there? Excuse me, I wish the meeting was up. He's really thinking about it. No, no, no, he couldn't have possibly happened. So would you ever be interested in creating the show Real Husbands of Calabassus? Of Calabassus? No, no. No, I don't see the humor. But you created it. You created a lot of shows. I created a couple shows. Calabassus Hollywood, white famous, which was Buddy Lewis and I created. And then they fired us and then hired a six-year-old white man to tell us how a black comedian should talk to that. Wow, they fired you, but you still got to check. I got to check, but it was, it was in a deal check. Right, right. It was smaller. He was killed yourself over that check. Right, yeah, it was, it was time. White famous was hilarious, though. I don't think so. You didn't need it. You know, they missed the boat on what we were trying to do. Because there's a difference between being white famous and black famous. Black famous is like, you know, the comedians who sell all of it, he still had money.
He can sell all over the country. You know I'm in Detroit, you know I'm in Chicago, but you don't know I'm on Ventura. Right, you know what I mean? He would be at the red carpet of a big movie and they'd be like, is that the guy at the end? That's the guy at the end. That's the guy at the end. That guy at the time of the show. And all of a sudden, that guy from NACA's comes in and they move you out the way. Right, right. You can get a line free. You go straight to the front of Roscos and we love sure. Why don't you ask the guy? Yeah. So you are a Jamaican American. Yeah. What percentage of your blood is everybody? Everybody. Part, apple tin, part. Everybody in the family is Jamaican. It was a time when I was a kid. You know Jamaican. They better be a kid. No, it was a time when I wouldn't claim it. Why? Really? It wasn't cool. It wasn't cool until Shaba. You know what I mean? When you were a kid and you were the only Jamaican in Inglewood. Everybody was like, yeah, they Jamaican, they Jamaican. I remember one time when I was at a shoe store and it was a roster there. They were like, hey man, just do Jamaican. He don't want to act like he's Jamaican. I was like, what about Jamaican? And the roster was like, where are you? Where are you? I'm not a bond. I was like, Jamaica. He said, we have five to bond. I was like, Jamaica.
He said, we'll have two golds that my kid and a big sti. Where I'm from. I was like, Jamaica. I don't understand this joke, sir. And that's when I finally realized it don't matter where your parents had you. That's their blood. That's what's running through your veins. It got to be wrapped in gold from Jamaican Inglewood. That was nice. That's how I got funny. Because I had that everybody was joning on me begging on me cap and whatever word you use. And I had to be able to fight multiple people. So what did your parents, so you ate, managed water, accees, so everything. And they came right from Jamaican here. My father had a soccer scholarship to Compton College. They didn't get soccer scholarship. Where did God. But if you were a junior college in the 60s and you're trying to compete with these other people, you're going to also Australia. Let's go get some Jamaicans. Let's go get some souls before he got a point. I think all of the magnificent seven. It was like seven Jamaicans they brought over here.
I think they won state. Yeah, they won. Yeah, they was great. They better actually brought them all away. And then how fast did you get from Compton, Engelwood? Compton, remember that was an upgrade. That was. Yeah, that was like you could only live in Compton. Yep. You could live in Engelwood, you could live in Carson, or you could live in the middle of that. That's all you could live with. Absolutely. You could. So the Jefferson's music played as we drove. It was like, he's like, we've got to do that. Did your daddy walk into the building? He's an arbor fighter. What's the most amount of bands you've hired? They fired me. Oh, yeah. I used to do all the way in movies early on. I did a blank man. I did dopey minutes in South Central. I did a low down dirty shame. And then they made a fjohn and he took my spot. He's lighter. I wouldn't say any more. He's lighter. We know what happened is we had a little, remember, when my show launch, Keenan shows launch.
Show launch at the same time. Right. And so, to my mind. Five years. So then there was a little tension, but it was kind of weird. Like me and Shawn were closer than me and Shawn weren't close to more. Why? Well, what really happened was after I got fired, they wanted me to come on the Keenan every Wednesday show. And I was like, I'm not coming on this show. I've been competing against this dude. I'm going to go over there and wave a white flag. So I said, no, I'm not coming. But then Chris Rock called me and said, yo, you need to come do my show. And I was like, no, I can't do what I told Keenan. I'm not doing this show. He said, dude, how long was your show on? I said 11 weeks. You've been unfunny for 11 weeks. Oh wow. I'm showing in America how you fucked up. That's a ****. Take a good friend to give you the truth. Remember you can hear more of our discussion every day on our radio show. Check out our website, thedo.uklyshow.com, for local listings. We'll be back coming up on the DO. Hugh Lee, sir. It is now time to give it to everyone. Someone to show the other week award. Now it's time for the shoe boot of the week award. Mitch McConnell. He's an American politician and attorney
who has been a United States senator from Kentucky since 1985. Woo! And has been Kentucky senior US senator since 1999. Has a majority leader of the Republican party, McConnell is in his 70th Senate term, making him the longest serving senator in Kentucky history. Wow. So, why is Mitch the turtle McConnell, this week's recipient of the shoe bootie of the week award? I have no idea. He gets the shoe bootie for people whaling him in Congress like weakin' at Bernice. The swear the God will feel like the toughest people of callin' me. After a fall at home, pneumonia, rehab, and roughly a hundred days of what his office called recovery, MIA Mitch, rolled onto the Senate floor like a guy who got lost on the way to the gift shop and just decided to stay.
He arrived in a wheelchair, a bruised hands, voiced doing that thing where it starts a sentence and then checks out halfway through. Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? And the first words out of his mouth to reporters were basically a week? Hello? And a cricket thumbs up? It didn't look like a comeback. It looked like a hostage finally coming home, and he didn't know he was home. Hello? Hello? Anybody home? He looked like a zombie and had a weird facial expression like he was A-A-R-P in his pants. I don't feel so good. He looks like he lost an argument with a turtle neck. His skin looks like leftover mashed potatoes. He looks like he should be on a cover of a funeral home brochure. I see, get me both. And look, I don't want to pile on a guy who just spent the summer in the hospital
and a rehab center. Holyo, after effects are real. But this is also the same man who spent years treating the Senate like a luxury timeshare. He only showed up when it was convenient. So when he vanishes for 100 days, releases a couple of photos that look like they were taking by a witness protection program and then rolls back in like nothing happened. I'm sorry, what was the question? People are going to make turtle jokes. That's the deal. You can look like a Galapagos tortoise for 40 years and then act shocked when America takes shots. They call this a comeback, but it's more like a farewell tour. And that's why the shoe booty of the weak gold goes to... ...much! McConnell! Now here's a swift kick in the ass.
Now it's not what you need to know with the one-only simple wails. It's civil wilks with what we need to know. The United States military completed its final troop withdrawal from Iraq, formally concluding a 12-year combat and anti-terrorism deployment under Operation Inherent Resolve. As a Rafi official declared a national holiday to mark the full departure of foreign forces. In Mississippi, civil rights demonstrators gathered outside the Jackson County Courthouse demanding justice for 18-year-old Nolan Wells, following a local grand jury decision declining to issue criminal indictments in the college athlete's death this summer. And California federal judge officially terminated 23 years of federal oversight by opening the Oakland Police Department, ending judicial monitoring established under the 2003 Oakland Riders Corruption Settlement. And in Utah, 71-year-old Douglas Carter was released on bail after 41 years on death row after newly analyzed DNA evidence from a 1985 murder scene completely excluded him.
I'm civil wilks being formed be empowered. Thank you so much civil judge. Oh yeah! More of the DLHUGly Show is coming up. On the DLHUGly Show. Many people believe buying a home requires a large down payment and years of saving. But that's not always the case. Across the country, there are programs designed to help first-time home buyers take the next step toward home ownership. Some of these programs offer down payment assistance or grant funding that may help cover part of the upfront cost of purchasing a home. Grants are especially helpful because they generally do not have to be repaid. Also organizations that provide home buyer education, financial counseling, and guidance to help individuals understand the home buying process before they begin. The goal is simple. To help more families become informed and prepared for home ownership. If owning a home is something you've been thinking about, start by visiting tools for homeownership.com. This message is brought to you by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling's Paving the Way Forward Initiative.

FD number 247. It is the DLU we show you a 2026 edition. Hey, listen, if you're going to be in Columbus, Ohio this Friday and Saturday, I will Friday, I'll be at the first shot auditorium in Columbus, Ohio, the following day at the TAF theater in Cincinnati, Ohio. I will give you a heads up right now, okay? My cousin is coming to see you in Columbus. Be nice to her and if she gives you a gift, no matter how strange it looks, please make sure I get it. No, I've made sure, no, she didn't give me the last one. She gave it to I think. She said, I made you a nice necklace and you never got it. I was like, yeah, I'm sure we took it. I'm sure you did. We sure we took it. And probably put it in the trash can, so terrible. But thank you. Well, I had nothing to do, I don't know what happened to it. I'm pretty honest with you, I don't know what happened to it. Look at you looking how snazzy. Yeah, you know, where you been? I had to do the gender for her. And she's really beautiful. Yeah, I like her. I don't know when in her air, but it was too remote, Charlie. Did you dance down the hallway? Not at all.
You did dance! Come on! I don't understand. I don't understand. I don't understand why it is. I say I'm not going to do something I don't do and people think of people shocked by it. Not even a bunny hop. Oh my god. I walked out and said I fly. Boo! Boo! Boo hiss! Boo hiss! I'm way too old for your pressure. My peer pressure is going in. My peer is in there and the blue play is special. They get it. You look nice just as an... Thank you. I appreciate that. I was watching something, I forgot what it was the other night. Do you know where Starbucks came from? Starbucks came from? I don't. You don't know where the... Seattle? I have no idea. But do you know where the name came from? Maybe somebody's last name is Star and they got a lot of books. It was the first mate in Harold Mellville's Moby Dick. So the name... The first mate was... His name was Starbucks.
Gotcha. And he was a Mormon. He was a Quaker. And he didn't drink it. I was a Quaker from Nantucket. And he was like Captain Ahab's, you know, conscious. And he was all just... So when they were thinking of coffee and somebody was sober and all that kind of stuff, they named it after that guy. It was a reach for work. It was a reach for work. Is named after it. Why... Why I know this? Why else would you know this? Of all people, why would you know this? Because years ago, my teacher, Irma Bailey, she read... She read Captain Moby Dick to us and she read the Iliates. Okay. Can I ask you a question without being disrespectable? Yes. What would you take as a long book? It is. You stayed for the whole book? Well, she didn't read it at one time. I know. I know. And whatever. I was just a fifth grade and fourth grade. So of course I stayed. And we got to the fourth grade. How can you ditch the rest? I thought maybe you started early. But I always knew that the first mate's name was Starbucks. I just never put two and two together.
Until now. And until I was like... In the middle of the night, I was like, wait a minute. You woke up in the middle of the night with that phone. I won't wait a minute. I said, that's what I came from. I don't know where he's at all. Oh, Lord. And so I didn't read that well. And Miss Bailey would... I don't know if anybody did. She read the Iliates, Homer's Iliates, which is the Trojan one and all that kind of stuff. When we just went and saw that and she read this, Moby Dick. And out of the whole book, you remember Starbucks. And out of the whole book, you remember Starbucks. No, I remember Homer's Iliates. I remember Odysseus. I remember all those things too. But I remember that it was the character was Starbucks. But I never put together that it was... That's who the coffee company was named after. And if you can't see him, don't tell him to hold down the job. I'm going to tell you why Jasmine gave us five workplace antics. You should never pull by Tanvier Perk from Adam and O'Waugh. Number five. Try to make physical advances so you can get it hit. Get that in your ocean.
That's how you got to do it. Okay. Here we go with Moby Dick again. No more shame. Number four. We are right. The type of antics you should not pull, calling for group meeting every time you get in your feelings. Yeah. I am. I don't like that no kind of way. Yeah, we're real. No, we're real. We're real. Oh, you're at peace. Number three. Of the top five workplace antics you should not pull, filing complaint to HR about everything. Yes. He was looking at me. What? Yeah. What an advanced suit to work. Yeah. Number zero. Number zero. The top five workplace antics you should pull, selling people out. It was him. He was him. He wore that suit. He was him. The number one of the top five workplace antics you should not pull, getting caught, doing everything except your job. Ain't that something. That's what it is. That's how it goes. That's how the immune workers are. That's how they get to do it. That's going to do us a deal. As you can show you a 2026 edition. So make sure that, well, first I want to thank you all for tuning in.
You're welcome. If you are in Columbus, Ohio, I'll be there Friday at the Merchant Theater along with Don, lemon, DL, and DL. Then the following day we're going to be at the tab theater in Cincinnati, Ohio. So come check us out and take a note. Yeah. Jasmine Sanders, what did you learn today? I saw an interesting something. What's it really that you said? It's kind of disturbing. She said, well, she never said anything that wasn't... Well, I don't know if you've ever heard something like this before, but I haven't. She said that when she's on her period, she wears a diaper around the house with a baby T shirt and a binky. Yeah, okay. That's what I thought. Carry on. Well, that's not disturbing. That's just... You don't think that's disturbing? That's disturbing. Yeah, disturbing and weird are the same thing to me. I don't know that I'm a disturbing, but probably. What a girl puts in her mouth is her face. Yeah. It's a diaper for me now. I think Raven's a mole kind of as the first Amanda Seale's, right? She's like the first dog in the head. She was just catching me. Yeah. Woo! It must be Get Amanda Month because when I tell you they are all over her, wow!
It's a nice... Yikes. I'm skipping my man's sheet on what you learned today, baby boy. What I'm supposed to say after Raven and the diaper... The diaper. The diaper. The diaper. The diaper. The diaper. The diaper. Blood issues. I'm following that. You know, you're crazy. Yeah. Is that it? That's what you got. You have nothing to say. I'm not even trying to say it. You're not following. You don't like running real life skips. That's crazy. That's why I'm following you. That's why I'm following you. That's why I'm following you. That's why I'm following you. Yeah. It's a whole different day. Yeah. Yikes. On the next deal, you will show Kyle, you will A.K. Especially how Kyle is going to drop another joint on short bucks. Records plus the medicine, Andrew Malik, Kingsley returns to his vocal race. Hitting in our everyday lives. It is the deal, you will show. We will definitely see you on the other side. Kyle, my favorite short bucks operator, pull that string we got to go. Tau, tau, it's the deal, you will show. See you on the other side.
