Woo! Free Friday! Friday Friday Friday Friday. Better believe it. You better believe it. On a Jets game day of all days? Come on. Game day! Ahead of a long weekend. What time is it? Day time. We are buzzing today Jim. And so are all Jets fans. So is all Jets Nation across the world. We're all a flutter. And happy Thanksgiving. Hey. We gotta head to that. Happy Thanksgiving to you. What do you do? What do you do? Oh, a single man in this city who may or may not have a Chiapet haircut. I spend it with the family. Oh, do you go home? Of course. They let me back for Thanksgiving. Most of the time they don't. Do you help with the dishes? Or do you just walk in and go, Hi. How's it going? Oh, this is great, Mom. I really got a run. I got an online gaming thing. Usually my bathroom breaks coincide right with when the dishes are being used. So I tend to get out of that. That's a veteran move. Yeah, from a I learned from the best. I got to go to the brother.

I would say, well, just leave the dish. I'll do them when I get back. But they would not leave the dishes. We're coming to you live from the Boston pizza studio for gourmet pizza and pasta. Bring the team to Boston pizza. And this hour is also brought to you by our good friends at wash method.com over on 690 St. Anzerot and at wash method dot com. Jim, we got a game day action. The phone lines are open. 204 780 68 68 already got a collar on the line. Just want to ask you to hold on for just a few moments as we go over some notes from morning. Today, important. Very important notes on the lineup and health. So top line remains the same Morgan Baron, Vigo Bjork and Gabe Valardi are aligned together. ESAC Rosane, Adam Larry and I follow Cole Keppke, Vlad Namassnikov and Brad Lambert make up the fourth line. This is where things get interesting. Jim on the D pairings. So Josh Morris, he wasn't at the optional skate yesterday. He wasn't at morning skate today. We do have an update on his status. He won't be playing in tonight's game and he's day to day though.

So sounds like they avoided any major injury. He's going to be out. Who knows how long I'll be out. But day to day, he will miss tonight's game with that absence Mario Mario Ferrero is on the top line with the top pair with Neil Pionk. Dylan Sandberg with Dylan Demello. Hayden Flurry looks like he's going to get his first game action of the year. Pared up with Tyrell Bauer and back in and the ducks have some heavy weights. They have no idea what's coming their way. Your headphones just flew away. My headphones came off. I have no idea. Oh yeah. I'll tell you what Mr. Hogan, you have no idea what's coming your way. Cup coffee. Cup coffee in the big time Tyrell. Tyrell rise to the big. You got to come get the premium stuff. The cream always rises to the top. I had no idea I could do a much old man. That was a really good one. Well, I don't know about that. I wouldn't say some people might say you can't do a much. Yours was pretty good. And then also Clayston and Gets the juices flow.

It does. Tyrell Bauer. Oh, absolutely. Clayston was in the Starter's Net at Moring Skate so he's expected to get the start. So you're all caught up on all the happenings around the Jets ahead of today's game. Which is interesting, right? Because he who shall not be named was here, he would be playing a lot. And I think now just five games in you're going back to and then I also think what it says is to Mr. Skinner, you're one A and we would like you to play against the Minnesota Wild another division rival. Yeah. And it's just goes to show you that there's a lot of trust in these two gold tenders early in their Jets 10 years. So that's always a great sign to see. But for our first caller could be Elizabeth. That would be awesome, but it's not. But let's go. Yeah, three or four 780 68 68. Let's bring in Steve to the program. Steve, you got any rest learned questions for us? What? I wanted to complete the part. Okay, go ahead. Go ahead. You've reached us. Okay, well, I guess you guys have to show your straight.

A lot of folks are saying, including some of friends, I just missed my opinion, I think it's really, you know, the first part of the season, whatever blah blah. But this is my opinion. I think these games matter just as much. I mean, two points to points. As middle of the season ended the season, I would even put an argument to the first part of the season, you know. And I know it's only with it four or five games, but they said it's home. And especially with what you said, Jim, the guy who shall rename it, we being nameless. You know, it's setting up positive home. So these things are, I think it's extremely important, even though it's just a start of year. Yeah, I don't see that's a really good point. I think every game is important. So I agree with you two points in October is the same as two points in April or March. They're very important. Now I will say this, I, I'm not trying to downplay this, start it all, but they did start nine and three last year. And then the wheels fell off. So if they go nine and three this year, that would be awesome. It's after that.

But to me, the difference is, and it's only been four games, is the way they play. Not so much the result, but how they're playing is kind of their identity that had them success in the, in the previous three seasons, except for last year. And they got away from that last year. So that's what I take key to this for anybody who's like, oh, it's a hot start, but you never know. And I'm like, yeah, no, but I, I, I look to how they play the game. And if they can keep playing the game the way they are, they're going to have success. And realistically too, I mean, there's going to be ebbs and flows throughout the season, right? Like you're going to go on losing streaks. You're going to go on winning streaks. You do make a good point though about collecting those wins earlier because, say, if you find yourself on a five game losing streak to start the year, it's already like, wow, we're behind the eight ball here. And it's got a little bit daunting if that stretches over 10 games. So really good point there, Steve. And that had a distinct line up. It's what you just said. I think that was your high chances are, imagine if the jet started to reverse. And considering what's going on with the gold tender who shall read the name list. Can you imagine?

The heat that the mood as opposed to now where everybody, including, you know, we're seeing. Being fantastic, but a lot of people are saying don't even miss them. You know, whatever we don't even miss them. Hey, love the show. I got to hang up and both the comments. Thanks Steve. How good Thanksgiving. I honestly were the ones talking about it, not them. Yeah. And I know he was asked post game Chris or Stuart Skinner. Sorry. Big shoes to fill. And I was kind of like, I, I totally respect it and friends with the reporter that asked that. But I'm like, I wouldn't ask that after a game because they've moved on. I would ask it after practice. I'd be I would be like, hey, you know, you've had a good start. You've gotten points in every game and things like that. But after you just want a game, I would talk about that game and not the shoes to fill. And I would say, because I believe the team inside the room has moved on. They're not talking about it anymore.

Do you think that they get off the ice and go, okay, I wonder what he's thinking? No, you can't play that way, right? So we're the ones talking about it. They've moved on. And I think that that's to their credit. They've also moved on from last year. I don't think they've forgotten last year, but this is a new year. And all you can do is control how you played this year. But the lesson learned from last year is still hanging around. And I say the way they're playing is impressive because of and for all the people that we've seen before when it comes to playoff times at least, it was well that, hey, maybe this group doesn't have it. And maybe this group is weak mentally. Well, this is a very good sign that shows that they are. And they can do anything about that until they get to the playoffs. Yeah, right. But first they have to get there. So that's what they're focusing on, right? It's okay for all of us to talk about it and the fans and all that. But they're in that room. It's a different. That was a one big thing when I started covering hockey daily in rooms and stuff was how quickly they moved on from wins and losses. Yep, the buy-ins reel this year so far. Wicks on the phone. What's going on, man? Hey, guys, I'm coming in hot.

Oh, I like it. Like it. All these people on the bandwagon about saying we're fine with hell, you let them sit. Well, I hope Chevy's not thinking the same way. He'd better be on that phone every day looking for a capable second line center. And I say this because I see an issue brewing. It's early, but there's an issue brewing here. What was the Jets? What was one of their biggest issues last year? Second mindset. Well, I'm scoring with everything. Yeah, who was doing all the scoring? Top line. Exactly. And it's only four games. I could see that. I could see that happening. Well, first of all, Wicks, I don't think Chevy's not sitting around going. This is awesome. I don't think that I think he's got a highly, a high end asset sitting there that I think weekly. He's trying to move, but he's also not picking up the phone daily.

I mean, all you have to do is look at Buffalo and how Ucapeca, and how Ucapeca, Luke, and it's been out of the gate. You look at Brandon busying Carolina, two teams that want him and how their goal attending has done so far this year. Kevin Chevrolet Dayoff doesn't have to pick up the phone daily. He's moved on and he's he's going to do it when he'll improve this team. And in the meantime, he's focusing on his team. He doesn't have to call daily. It's the other teams that have to call what pressure is there on Kevin Chevrolet Dayoff? His team is three oh and one. And he's gotten good goal ten out of two guys. And I just want to add to that point, Jim. But I just wanted to add there that if Kevin Chevrolet Dayoff is canvassing the market right now, waiting for one of those second line players to become available. And they're not available yet just because it's so early in the season. He doesn't feel that pressure to make a trade because they're waiting right now. Like we get to 15, 20 games and some teams have fallen out of the playoff race and they've decided that, hey, you know what? This probably isn't our year. Let's maybe look to move some guys. He's monitoring all those situations and waiting for a second line player to become available.

Because to your point, Wic, they do need some second line scoring. They won't be worried until it's further in the season. The other quick thing is everyone thought, well, we're going to get a Kings round some for Helle. I think it's the other way around. I'm right now. If there is a capable second line center, I see that Jats having to add in a package. They might add small pieces, but they're not adding major pieces to counter-hello. Well, I've said this before. If you're getting a top six player back, you're going to have to kick in a bottom six player. There's not a playoff contending team that's going to go, I'll give you this. Well, there might be a team like Buffalo who has a couple second line players. And they'll go, I'll play this guy more and I'll move this guy up. But I want somebody for my bottom six. And I think your bottom six is Chevy goes, here's your, they'll ask for Morgan Baron. Don't kid yourself. They'll ask for Dylan D'Amelo. That's who they'll ask for. And they'll go into the playoffs this year with that. But yeah, I agree with you. If you're getting multiple assets, you also have to send something back.

But you don't have to. More of a first in a prospect. No, no, no, no. Come on, man. Yeah, the capable second. Back center. You're doing for a top three goalie. You're doing a top three goalie in the league. And you're getting a second line player back. Because no team wants to ante up. Just because there's no mark. I want to clear this up, WIC for everybody. And TSN and sports and insight and all this has said this. Just because there's not a market for Connor Hellbuck doesn't mean he's not valuable. And that's why he's sitting right now. Well, and there clearly was a market last year. Like in the, sorry, in the summer, right? Because teams want him. It's just that now we're at the point in the season where teams had their roster said they want to see what they have with their groups. Like if we get, I, I can almost assure that as the season goes along, those rumors will continue to heat up. And players that we didn't think were available during the summer, all of a sudden become available. And maybe that gets a trade going. I mean, if Dylan Larkin didn't report back, is all of a sudden a month from now, he's a worse center?

No, it's just there's no market for him. So he's back planned for Detroit because nobody wants to pay the price to get Dylan Larkin. And, and, and the teams that have these assets aren't giving them away. WIC really appreciate the call. Sorry, we got to head out the next call. Thanks, WIC. Happy Thanksgiving. Let's go to Jeremy on the phone lines. Jeremy, how's it going today? Hey, good guys. Good, good, good pace to the conversation today. However, a little political angle here. Remember Maurice was saying that one day there'll be statues put up for Shifley. Yeah, yeah. You guys remember that? Yeah. Anyone kind of laughed at it? Well, you know what? Shifley was raised by number 10. We know who number 10 is, right? Oh, yes. Yeah. Well, guess what? It's showing, right? He's here. He's committed. He's not looking to leave. He wants to lead. He's becoming the franchise leader in almost every statistical offensive category.

He's grown his game defensively. He's trying his best to be the best player he can for us. And he's showing us loyalty back by signing that long-term contract. So you look at a guy like Hella Buck, who goes and hangs out with his American friends. And it was basically raised by Maga because he that's who he loves. You just get to see the product of their environments, right? I don't know that he loves Magna, so I don't want to say that. I don't know that. At the end of the day, when it comes to this situation, I do not think it's... And even I forget who it was. I think it was Vinnie Trocheck did a sit-down interview. And he was even mentioning, we haven't texted anything on our Olympic group chat in over months. And he's like, maybe I have to get it going now. But I really don't think that there's this ultimate collaboration between all the players trying to coordinate them to certain locations. I think some players just want to go elsewhere in the States. And it's unfortunate for the Jets here. There's a...

I'm sure there's a whole reason to raise it. I don't doubt that to Chuck Loved Ottawa, I think he wants to play with his brother. And I think he wants a better chance to win. I think Dylan Larkin wants out of Detroit because he's been there for over a decade with no playoffs. And he's had some conversations around that. And the organization doesn't do any much to get them into the playoffs. And then I think here you have a star athlete who has a rare chance to capitalize on what he's been bestowed with. And wants to play in America. And maybe further his career after playing by going that route and wants out. Like it's three different reasons in my mind. But I have no doubt they sat around and talked about if you ever want out of where you're at, you know, Ikele, I did it. I'm sure they talked about it. They talked about it. I just don't think there's this coordination. No, I don't either. But back to the point, Jeremy, I agree. I think there will be a statue of Mark Schifley. I think it'll be 20 to 25 years from now. And I also will venture to guess that he might be working for the organization when it goes up. He might be like an assistant GM or a GM or something like that.

So thanks for the call, Jeremy. Unfortunately, we got a head to break here, but keep those calls coming to 470 for 68 68. And then our last segment, we will show or will play the audio clip, the wedding voicemail for the $50 gift card to Boston pizza where you can come in for lunch every week day to Boston pizza, get a delicious main side and ice cold drink for only 15 bucks. All me at BPS. We'll be right back with more jets at me right after this. We'll be right back to scutts and a little scooter. We have time to fit in a quick call here. Let's go to Carl on the phone lines. Carl, really quickly hear what you got for us today. We just got to have a positive attitude. We got to enjoy this 301 one record. The guys are playing good. Enjoy the goalies. Let's stop talking about Hello, Bucky's not here. And like Jim said last week, we got we're not we're going to let the good time to go to enjoy the good times.

We can't let them go by us. You got a moment. Don't yeah, take it for what it is. It's a run especially. Oh, you're going to give me a slim Jim. Carl, stay on the line. We're going to give you the V. I'll throw in a slim Jim at wash method. That's an example we need head into the long weekend. Hopefully his wife's name is Elizabeth. We'll be right back with more jets that noon right after the 1230 news. Thanks, Jeff. Thanks for the whole week as well. Hey, you're welcome. Thanks, Jeff. I hope you're having you. I hope you have a great weekend and an even better Thanksgiving. Likewise, Jen. What are you thankful for, Jeff? I'm thankful for every moment I get to spend with you two guys. You just have yourself a lovely weekend. You too. Welcome back to JetZed here. Legend. Absolutely. Hall of Famer. Yeah, eventually. Before we go any further, I do want to mention this. Sad day.

Mike Dick has passed away. Yeah, it is a very sad day. Absolutely. Legend, icon in my mind. And the Bears years were amazing. The Saints years were not so much. But because the Saints years weren't so much makes me even love them even more. Sad day in the sports world, RIP to Mike Dick. One of the best personalities in NFL history. Maybe even sports at sports history. And for years, somebody suggested this for Halloween once. And then some other people were doing it not in my circle. But I am, I'm going to go buy one of those Bears Vests. I'm going to start wearing. Real the mustache show. That's a good costume right there. We're coming to you. Move members coming. So I may look like Mike Dicker for the entire month. We're coming to you live from the Boston Pizza studio for gourmet pizza and pasta. Bring the team to Boston Pizza. And this hour is also brought to you by our good friends over at WashMettheCarWash on 690SaneHansRoad and at WashMetthe.com. Fall lines are open. 204-780-6868 on this free-for-all Friday. Free-for-all! Let's bring in Gord to the program. Gord, how's it going? Going good. How about you guys? Good, thanks for all.

You know, you took it away, but I'm going to say it anyway. Tyson, you know, I know you're a young buck and that's good. And you're doing a great job. And you know, you remind me of a young, I mean, I'll show my age. You remind me when I started listening to Bob Herbring 30 years ago. Oh, wow, wow, that is very high praise. I know why, because I know you don't know. Unless with the world of Internet. Now, I knew you'd never seen Mike Tyson. You might know him or not Mike Tyson. Oh, right. You don't know him from fly, but you made that comment before he ended the news. And I was very impressed because there's a guy that was a coach back and he old era. He's the one who started saying to the NFL, he grows up, the commissioner. We don't need to wear suit and ties when we get off the plane and blah, blah, blah. You know, he was, he was one of them outside the box, quote, guys. And my kind of guy, Gritty, whatever, and that's, that's, and I appreciate you mentioning that comment.

But you guys did show class and both you did. So I'm very impressed with the show. I'm not going to take up any more of the time because the jets are doing great. But I just wanted to make that comment. Thanks a lot, Gordon. Really appreciate that. And those are, hey, if I could be even half the, even half of what Bob Herbring was, I mean, how would be, I'm going with that. Bob Herbring is an absolute legend in the game. And so, the other half could be like Mike Ditka, then you'll be fired. Thanks, Gordon. Thanks, Gordon. Thanks a lot. Thanks a bunch, Gordon. Really appreciate it. I was raised, I was raised right. My dad showed me Mike Ditka. I remember watching kicking and screaming. My dick was a bad movie. So I've got to hear juice box. Let's bring in the legend. Well, to the program. Well, how's it going today? Good, good. Have a lunch. Nice. What are you having today? Just wanted to say that first game against Boston, the jets would have won that game if we wouldn't have missed that empty netter with a minute to go. They had a one and right there. Yeah, they've been flared away. So they'd be undefeated. And one other, one other small point.

I'm impressed that they've got a tough guy now with Tyrell Bauer. I love this guy. And I dubbed the from this point forward. I dubbed the Bam Bam Bauer. Wow, Bam Bam. You shall be known as Bam Bam forever now. I kind of like that one. Wow. Maybe you have, may you have a long illustrious career and win a big. And I hope you find your puzzles and win a big here. We'll pass on a lot of the Tyrell. A lot of know that. Yeah. That's the new one. I do want to say this and we're going to get to more of the calls about he who shot on the speaker's name, whatever. David Peck not our good friend from the fourth period reported yesterday. Connor, how about trade requests? I think Utah is still lurking in the weeds. Vermelka would have to be part of the mix going back. We were on this like three months ago or two months ago. We were talking about this. And even David on that don't sleep on Utah. Like Utah is that team that unlike the Carolinas or the Buffalo's that is really looking like we hear San Jose all the time.

But San Jose for a coronalian Friedman isn't sure they're there yet. Like they think in two to three years they would love to have a hell of a buck. But they're still developing and don't think even if they do make the playoffs or a quote unquote contender. Utah does Utah feels like this is their time to shine. And I wouldn't surprise me if they stepped up because they've had a bad start to go. They got smoked last night against the Bruins. Give up six months. And I don't know for Melco would have to be part of the return anymore. But you know, I mean, if you could add and to have something else or whatever. But I've always felt you and I have talked about this off the air. But about a month ago or two months ago on the air we talked about it. Don't sleep on Utah. Like they're aggressive. Yeah, they got to know that's willing to spend really appreciate the call. Well, thanks for that. Let's go over to Rick on the fall lines. Rick, how's it going today? It is going all right except when I look in the mirror. I'll sell yourself short. That's because there's somebody behind you. I can't help it. I'm five, five eight. I have to sell myself short.

The hot take of the day for you guys. Clay Stevenson called her. Oh, I don't think he's eligible called 27 years old. He's only got a couple. Oh, yeah, he's too old. And it's stupid. Oh, no, I appreciate the hotness of it though. Rick, you can win the call. If you went to the pal Amino. Oh, yeah, no, that's not going to happen. I mean, why people are at the pal. Thanks for the call Rick. It's a good thought though because like, hey, if he does go on a little bit of a stretch here. If they do like split it, I don't think it's going to be 42 and 42 games. But if it goes like 55, what's the math? Jim, you asked the totally wrong person for that. But it looks like it could be one A1B, right? And that's the way they could go about it. And why not?

Because we'll see tonight. But every indication we've been told up into this point that Clay Stevenson was NHL ready like a year or two years ago. So if he can come in and play well and Skinner can too. And Skinner is clearly getting the Central Division games. But if you can get a specific team in here and get a win with Stevenson tonight. You can't be 26 by September 15th of that season to qualify for the call. I thought it was 26 and unders. Unfortunately, but hey, still maybe Vesna. I don't know. William and Jennings award. Jennings would be nice. There could be some. I'm going to get over to Mike on the phone lines. Mike, how's it going today? It's going good. Cool. What you got for us? I was just wondering what you two guys are going to do to get your fat boys in your lower ball. Once Salbot comes back to play. Get our what? Sorry. Get your get your fat boys in the lower ball seats at the arena. I'm not following you. I know you're trying to make a joke. But what do you? I don't know.

Like would we go to the arena if Halibut came back? No, it's going to say it was going to pay for your fat boys at the arena seats. So almost money's last. He's going to come back. I'm not trying to say Mike. I'm not following you. Sorry. Just say what you want to say without the the connotation. Not that I'm offended by it. I just don't know what you're saying. Okay. What's going to happen when Halibut decides to come back? I don't know that he is. And if he does decide to come back, I think it doesn't just happen. I don't think it's not going to be like I want to play now and he comes back. He's going to say I want to play now. Then he's going to have to have a conversation with probably the owner, I would think. Then he's going to have to have a conversation with his teammates. And then the teammates will probably decide how they feel about it. And then I think the team will move forward that way. That's just my guess. But I don't think he just walks back in here if he wants to. What do you think? Well, I think the scene quite a bit of money needs to be two people right now.

We're all happy that doing well. But seeing a lot of skiner over the years and I don't think he's the answer. Maybe the other kid is. Hey, Stuart Skinner might not be the answer. We don't know yet, but from what we see. There's a lot of hockey left, but so far so good. A lot of confidence. Thanks for the call. Mike really appreciate it. Let's head to Jim. Great name on the phone line. Jim, how's it going? Hi, first time call. No, I'm just kidding. Go ahead, Jim. Hello. Hi, Jim. Go ahead. Oh, OK. I'm sure you spoke this comery situation. I don't know if you guys know anything on the inside. If there was a burned a bridge burned really bad, but comery had one. Probably is I think his best season ever last year. One of the best backup records in the NHL last year. He was released by San Jose. And why would the Jets not have them back? Was there a bridge burned here or something we don't know about? No, I think he's 31 years old and they just feel it's time.

They've got two really good young gold tenders in the mousse and he's got a two year deal. And I think even if they did bring him back, they wouldn't need him for longer than this year. And so I think they're just letting him go. Yeah, I think Stuart Skinner. I don't think there's any bridge burn. The organization loves air, comery and air, comery loves the organization. They've gone back four times. That's why I understand he was very powerful in the dressing room. Did anyone pick him up? San Jose did. Well, he's in the minors for San Jose. Nobody picked him up. Yeah, but he's. Yeah, thank you. He's 31 years old though, right? And at some point you're like, we're moving on. And especially in the backup position. I think we can agree that Stuart Skinner and Clayst even center both better at this point. They had their eye on the three goalies we mentioned on waivers. If that I think they had their eye on comery too. But when Clayst even came around at 27 and I think that's just a no offense air comery. But he's 31 years old and he's a backup. And I think they want to get younger and they also know what's coming from the moves. Yep, let's squeeze Rod in here right before we had the break. Rod, what you got for us today? Hey guys, I have a question.

What's the heritage classic were the jets are wearing white normally. NHL the home team wears the dark color. Why are we wearing blue? I think it's just a choice. I think it's because of the heritage back in those days, the heritage days, the home team wore white. And then I think it's also the Montreal Canadians heritage jersey would be the red. And I think that's part of it, right? Like back in the heritage times of when the players, I know like baffling and all them are out there. But the actual heritage stuff is the home team wears white jerseys. And then I think it allows Montreal to wear their classic red jerseys like like this is the winnipeg's heritage classic. But it's it's not like winnipegs. It's like the leagues. And so I think they wanted the red Montreal jerseys and then the so then they went with the white winnipeg once appreciate the call rod to have a great weekend and great Thanksgiving. At least I think that's how it like it's it's a league heritage game. It's not despite the two teams that are in it. It's like a league heritage game and they want the traditional. I do wish they went a different way.

I would have liked to see the new jersey, but I mean that don't say that jersey isn't good. I honestly think that that white jersey with the navy heritage jerseys. I think if they switch to those home in a ways, best jersey kits in the league. Well, I know the red pants are back, which excites the traditionalists. They love the red pants. I think that should be the norm no matter what jersey they wear. Yeah, the red pants are sweet, but we're going to take a break. When we come back, we'll play the winning voicemail for the Boston pizza gift card. Great. Oh, yeah, fantastic calls coming for lunch every weekday to Boston pizza. Get a delicious main sight and ice cold drink for only 15 bucks only at BP. And we'll be right back with more Jets at noon right after this. Regarding team toughness, I'm going to take you back to 1979. First year of the Jets are in NHL. Boston Boons coming for the first time. I have my season tickets for $320. And back then you could attend the game.

They practice the both teams and sit behind the coaches bench and hear all the banter. Scott Oaks says that John Ferguson big bad bruins are in tonight. Fergie says number one drop pick. AKA Jimmy Mann. Mann fights, Stan Jonathan, LC cord, Ontario Riley gets kicked out for three fights. Jets go on to win the game. Fast forward 10 years later, I'm in Atlantic City. At the craps table, some young guys bugging all the people begging for money. Pit boss stands up, takes off his three piece suit jacket, takes his watch off, says to the kid, you punch me first. Is an end name tag Jimmy. Jimmy Mann running AC. Come on. That's a cool story. That is. Is that true? I don't know. But congrats to Ken. Oh, but that is a true story. It is. He won the $50 gift card to Boston pizza coming for lunch every week.

Data Boston pizza. Get a delicious main side and ice cold drink for only 15 bucks only at BP. You know, you're in trouble when somebody says you punch me first. Yeah, that's that's where you just kind of take your losses ahead. I didn't know you could watch the practices back then. That's pretty cool. That is cool. Yeah, that definitely wouldn't fly in today's age. I don't know. We get went to the phone right before you wrap up the program. We got Reynolds on the line. Reynolds. How's it going? Good. Good. You know what? I just wanted to say it's a breath of fresh air for the Winnipeg Jets and their fans last year. I said it a long time. I've been saying for 15 needed an injection of youth, speed and toughness. Obviously, Chevy has seen the light because there's no more piercings and nigh quests. You know, it has had done his career. So, yeah, I mean, even moving forward, I can tell you right now, guys like neither rider and the laddie.

Oh, are they going to last year? I don't know. I think Yeager and the Elk and will get eventually called up. But yeah, I love the way. I love the speed. And I love the, you know, and Jim Toast, I can say, well, those kids weren't ready last year. Well, you know what? I think they were and it's nice that Chevy's actually seen the light. Why do you think they were? What tells you they were? Did you watch them play for the moose? Yeah, I did. Yeah, do you think they were any child ready? They were close. They were very close. Yeager is, you know, I know, a relative or Yeager and, you know, he's fast and he's had a good trip. And he's had a good training camp and even our Neil said he is an NHL player ready. And we said that a training camp like we thought he should make the team, but it's a numbers game for sure. But I agree with you, and I think the organization learned some lessons last year. And we said all summer, like we'll have to see if it comes with fruition, but that's clearly what they learned was speed and youth and back to their system.

We've already seen two with Nino being the odd man out right now. Yeah, scratch once again. Like we said all summer, I think the days of giving a veteran guy 12, 13 games to find a point are over. Yeah, and even our Neil even quoted said, delicious short this year. Yeah, and he held true to that. So it's good to see that there is at least learning from some of the mistakes last year. Like you mentioned, Reynolds really appreciate the call. Happy Thanksgiving. Yeah, have a good Thanksgiving. Okay. Well, Jim, it's about that time. The show's almost over. Yes. And unfortunately that does it for us today. Don't have any more calls to get to. We will get to a bunch of the text messages. I'm just burnt out already. I need some. That's like I just had a turkey dinner. Well, you will. What a great sports weekend. It's something to be thankful for. We got jetstucks tonight. We got bombers and stamps tomorrow night. And then on Tuesday, you can take Monday off. But I will remind everybody that bears Packers goes Sunday. The longest rivalry in the history of the National Football League.

If there's ever a year to watch, it's this year because I think the bears might win. Well, that's the jinx if I ever heard one. Jim. So thanks for that. You're gonna gamble this weekend. Maybe I'm gonna talk gambling at one o'clock. Oh, I'll go to Jim Toll show. I'll definitely tune in. See if there's any tips there. But that does it for us today. Special thanks to Jeff Fourchay for making the program. Go once again, just a reminder. The jets are taken on the ducks tonight. Pregame is just after five o'clock. Puck drop is at seven right here on 680 CGOB. Thank you for all listening. We are very thankful for you, especially this time of year. So enjoy Thanksgiving, spend it with friends and family, and have a great weekend. Everyone will be back on Tuesday. See ya. This episode is brought to you by State Farm.
