Foley Charged in TD Assault | Belfast News

A shocking daylight assault on TD Michael Healy-Rae in Dublin has sent 51-year-old unemployed man Anthony Foley to court, facing serious charges after allegedly punching him through a car window—leaving his lip slashed and needing seven stitches. Prosecutors claim the attack was politically motivated, citing a racial slur and the accused’s refusal to participate in identification or acknowledge CCTV footage showing him. Despite defense claims of weak evidence, Judge Karen Dowling denied bail, citing the gravity of the offense and public safety concerns, while Healy-Rae vows to keep fighting despite the brutal attack.
