Now you might hear some background noise because we adhere at the Union Hotel at North Sydney. So if you're around, come down and say good-bye. Hello.

We've got some prizes and then you can hear those dulcet tones next to me. My co-host today, the full package Michael Carriannis. Hello, Fletch. How are you? I'm well. What's going on? I don't know. I can't hear anything. So I'll have to sit much closer to you. But you can hear me OK? Absolutely. You're going good. Nice. And we have a third talking here, does they say in the game? The great Matthew John's, Matthew Welcome. Hello, Bryan. Hello, MC. Hello to all the listeners out there. Great to be here. We've just been a road trip together. We discussed a lot of things. We also discussed the lies in Lisbon podcast. So we had Richard Baker on Tuesday talking about it is gripping. I don't know if you know. No, what's it about? Do you want to get podcasts? I don't mind them. I don't mind them. Yes, what's it about? It's about a murder in Lisbon 25 years ago, probably more. And there's sort of machinations going on behind the scenes. And I know it's been charged yet, but we feel that this is a cold case.

A bit of a teacher's pet, if you're worse. Yes. I do get it. I had that, I think like all of us. We had that obsession with crime dockos, crime podcasts and stuff. So I needed a little bit of a break from all the death. Yeah, but that's good. Yes, good. There's more crime podcasts than crime. There's going to be a murder on Sunday. The bruises. Absolutely. Murder the night. But MC, you're looking flash. Where have you been today? Just came from the Grand Final lunch. So I had to bail out of there to get here. And as I was leaving the rooster's team had just been presented on stage. The night's not yet. Okay. But there was a good turnout there. I don't know how many people are the conventions and a 500 people. It's not really huge. Games flying, hard to get tickets. It is hard to get tickets. Not even Darren Albert. I'm in the trisker in 1997. Surely. Surely. I think he's been okay to him yesterday. Yeah. So I think he's been sorted. He's a statue. We call him the statue. The statue has to get a ticket to the game. Surely. What are you?

Think so. Absolutely. Maddie, how are you feeling? It's been a big week for you every week. It's been, it has been a big week. Which is it's been an incredible week for the city of Newcastle. I mean, you know, it's been, I mean, 25 years a long time. Even more when you say quarter of a century. It seems to have been the grand final. And it's so exciting because I was talking to my young likes about this. A lot of their mates like here about the celebrations of 1997 and 2001. But in the last 20 odd years they've never had, like, never got anywhere near it. And like the hype and the build up and the excitement that this could be it. I think if they win this game Sunday, it'll be bigger than 97 in the celebration. Would that be able to get away with what you guys did in 97? I don't think so. To far more sensitive world these days. I'd say not. Have you ever seen anything like it, Maddie, I was doing sideline on Sunday. Just the emotion of the staff, the players, the formal players. Is it because it's been so long?

What do you put that down to? It's really, really hard to put your finger on it. Like the link from the moment the club was set up, the tie between the team and the community. The bond is so strong. And I think I just think, I mean, you see the pictures. Sometimes with the night's fans, I wrote about this for tomorrow. I said, nothing's easy and it's just the way they like it. Like a lot of them with the steel industry and the coal industry. All those, you know, the city was built on. But even the other day, getting to the game, took four hours to get to the game. You know, pouring rain, stoppages on the rail line, gridlock and on the M1. But they finally got there. But it's just, I don't know, like most fans would, I certainly, I probably would, I've got made, well, you know, at least just turn around and go over who watch it. Watch it home. But they just turned up. And when the side ring on, they were just shocked to see how much red and blue were there. And it's going to be the same on Sunday.

And it's going to be a lot of red and blue. And maybe the touch of white. So, guess of today's show. Yes, we've got the great many Johns, but Brewster's legend. Because I said this yesterday, Brewster's with a forgotten club. We have the forgotten club. It's all about these nights, players. What about the Bondo Battlers? That's what I'm saying. So, Luke Rickinson will be on. Night's superfan and comedian Steve Philpill will be on. He's me on the bit. He, oh. He's that nervous. He's that nervous. I didn't realise how much of a superfan he is. Well, Fletch, not only in work, we've got Philpill who's the superfan, gets the crowd going. But also those superfan's Gav who is our director. Yeah. Now, earlier this year, well, I tell you what was the Vegas game at the start of the year? I'm commentating. And I've got Gav in my ear as the director. And usually, when you're commentating, you're the director. He's right, I'm out of here just having a look at it. And a reed play coming up, being three, two, one. He's cut the camera too and things are all he's talking about. Why did you do that? Why didn't you like, honestly?

Why is he still in first grade? All those things just come in the room in the ear. So, it's a big week for Fox Sports as well. We've got our social media guru. He's the shadow. He's another night's fan. Him and I, it's been a bit terse between us two this week. He's nervous. I'm not nervous. I'm not nervous at all. We're going to lap you. No, this is... You might get your chance to come on air and have your say, shadow. One thing you've learned about Fletch is that being with you for a long time. The more Fletch talks, the more nervous he is. All the way down to the Southern Highlands and back, he never drew breath. There is some nervousness around Fletcher. I'm not nervous. As they say in the racing parlance, get in the queue. Now, Matty, you are brought, thanks. You were here, thanks to... Taxes are sure. Specialists. Tax debt, negocons. Pay your taxes, people. Don't let the road to the rubbish in hospital. It does. Don't let tax debt keep you up at night. Now, I want to ask you, Matty, about the Rocky Balboa.

Oh, yeah. That was awesome. I don't know if you've seen it, guys. But go on to the Fox League Instagram handle. Matty is... You're basically stolen Matty Naples thunder. Yeah, it did. Totally. The bubbling of Rocky, this is before... Yes. And then, okay, Drian, is in the hospital? Okay, so let me paint the picture here. So, when you think of the Rocky tune, you often always think of the build-concease song, going to fly now. Yes. But there's another one in the 15th round of Rocky 1, where Apollo and Rocky are just stalking each other. And that is called going the distance one final round. And what I do, when I drive around the car sometimes Fletcher, I imagine that someone says, right, we want you to do a promo for something. And I listen to all different songs, and which ones would fit. And I always listen to that and always wait for the right occasion, that that would just fit perfectly. And when Fox League said, maybe we wanted to do one, I said, I've got the song. I've got the tune right now.

So, it's that one, you know, do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do. It's quite a pain. It's a ding start with the bell, and that little seam, which is from Rocky 2, which we finish with, is where Rocky sort of bit too extreme between, you know, he sort of, you know, she doesn't want him to fight, you know, and she's sick and bad, and then he's sitting there and Paulie's behind him, and she goes, just, Rocky, I just need you to do me one favor, and he goes, yeah, sure, what is it? She'd come closer, win. And that gets it going, doesn't that. That gets it going. But she was in the hospital because Paulie, your Paulie, made a pick up the kitty-leather. He did. And that's when she picked up the kitty-leather. Didn't know, I think she was having the... Braxton Hicks. She was, yes. Eight months pregnant. Eight months pregnant. Which fear to say that the baby was going to come early, the young fella, who later on in Rocky 5, we were, it turned out to be quite a brat. But when... Was that his real son? Was that his real son? I think it was. I think it was. And what was interesting was that when the baby was born in Rocky 2, I've never seen a baby who's so much hair. So much hair.

That's the Italian jeans. Yep, I know all about that. Mussolini had so much hair. No, he didn't, he was bald. No, he shaved it. I did, yeah, because he had too much hair. Gotcha. Yeah, he was like, what's going on here? What's happening? I'm just sitting back, just chilling. But you know how you mention around the fact that the roosters aren't getting enough love, Fletcher. On 360 last night, we obviously played that clip, Matt, and Rady said, one of the few smart things Rady has said. Like everyone's in the red bar. That the knight should play it on the team bus, and then Gordy goes, they should play it on the big screen at the game. And I'm like, it's not a rooster's home game. It's not a new castle home game. Is it a good, I love Gordon's argument. No, no, no, whoever's got the most fans, it's the home game. Because we were going to play Bondo Rescue. Oh, you guys met us before Bondo, that. He is my kneaders. How, what are you thinking, Manny? I know, like I asked you this on Monday, I'm sorry, Tuesday. And you were, as you said, you're pretty confident the last couple of weeks.

Are you getting the same feeling? The game I was probably most nervous about for new castle was week one, with the rabbit eyes. And once they got through the rabbit eyes, I sort of had a sense for it. Not so much as, you know, what do they say, you're playing with the house money. Because people say, oh, you got nothing to lose. Well, you have, you put it yourself in a great opportunity. There's a lot to lose. But I think that I could just see the side relax. And they'll get better and better at their style of football. And from then on, I've just liked them every single week. And I like them again this week. Can you believe they're actually in the grand final, they might. Like I don't think even the most art at new castle, fan, lover. And then not just that, you strip it back and go, well, no Dylan Brown, Dylan Lucas, Mr. Large chunk, no Jacobs of feed, no train, no fanning, no fanning, cross blend. If you put that all together, you would have said they're a product, like, with respect, being respectful, they would have thought they would have finished bottom four. Mick, we were not, we're not 360 when they might have been just after they beat the bunnies. I'm sorry, now it was going into the bunnies game. And they asked me, they said, look, this year, what do you think?

And I said, this year, a bridge too far. They said, but, do you reckon they can win it the next couple of years? I said, I think next year that they're going to really the big chance. So yeah, this is remarkable. Yeah, Matty, there's been a bit of chat about who's going to, obviously, Phoenix, Crossland has been ruled out. Are they going to go with Thomas Kent? That's been the chat. They have named Diesel Hagen, and I think was Matt Arthur named as well. No, he wasn't. So they've only got the one legitimate nine. Yeah, I don't know what's happened. Diesel Hagen has basically played the last few games in New South Wales. So he's let, he has let, let's look at that. Interesting. Big, big ask. Obviously, no, an hour before kickoff, or we'll actually know more when they 24 hours out. 24 hours out will be huge for the Diesel Hagen. If he's still in, he's a chance. Big ask for 19-year-old. So Diesel played a few months ago. So it was a whirlpool while there for a second.

Is it? No, anyway, Matty. But, sorry to put you, my lads were in the coaching team with the SG Bull for Manly. And they got down to the final four in the grand final, qualified. They played Newcastle, Newcastle knocked him out. Diesel Hagen was the best player in the field that day. But that's remarkable to think, you know, one minute he's playing in an SG Bull, you know, semi-final or end up in the final. And then could be playing running on the grand final is just remarkable. If you think in this day and age, it's more important to have a genuine nine. Like in years gone by, we asked Billy Pieden last week in 97. He'd had, I said, how many games had you played? He said, I played the prelim. Yep. That was my first starting position. First time I'd started at nine. Yep. Is it easy and now? Fletch up. What does the game demand a genuine nine? I think the game genuinely demands a quick silver nine. A fast moving nine, skillful nine. Because that's where all the space is, you know, a fletch. I mean, Newcastle clippin' on the edges. But you've got to have that threat through the middle of the field.

And I just think with Tommy Cantt is that he is not a natural nine. And just simply for the service early in the game, you want it to be smooth. You want that special hooker fire in that ball, right in the chest of the players. Just, you know, as you know, fletch, you get a different dummy half in some times. You're playing outside a different playmaker. Just the way the ball moves and everything. It just adds an extra little bit of complexity. You just got to go with it. And how many times have you seen one part, one sort of wayward part? It's contagious. It is. It is. It goes best to bang. We might go to a quick break, but maybe you might stay around because we want to ask you about last... By the way, did you go to the Delhi... I did? Yes. I got there a little bit late because of 360. No atrocities. No atrocities. But was Paul Vaughn there? No. Did anyone else come up to you? No, no he's here. Have you heard of Jerno's getting accosted by players at the Delhi Inn? Of course. Who? Back in the day it used to happen.

It doesn't happen as much these days, but it definitely used to happen back in the day. It would have happened when you guys were playing for sure. Because you'd keep going afterwards. The key goons don't happen as much anymore. Right. But was there anyone a little bit juiced up? Last night? Yeah. It was seriously... I think they wrapped it all. I think I had to be out of there by 11. What's going on this world? Yeah, it's so wrong. It's not so not rugby league. It's very good. You'll be haved in sober. It is different. Even when I first started, it used to be at the casino, so then you'd kick on somewhere in the middle of the night. Yes. You'd go down to the Rocknulli Bar. And it would be half the people would still be there. This time there would have been a quarter of the people still in the room when it finished. If that... I've asked you this before. Was there any other Jernos from any other opposition? So, say, were they OK with you? Yeah. Good. Isn't it funny, like, these days as soon as the ice has melted to a certain degree, like way, way back, like, like, it's a Sydney Morning Herald journalist and David Telegraph journalist, honestly, it was Harry Carrey, if they were together.

Yeah. But these days, it's a fun more homogenous. Buzz and Wilder were put in the last two to really go at it. And even then, they sort of had a... Sure, who's that? Buzz and Danny Wadlock. Did they forget Fisty Cuffs? No, no. In terms of what Maddie's talking about from Colour, like having a crack at each other in Columns. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, that's a weak way to do it. It doesn't really happen. It doesn't really happen anymore. No, it's settled in the ring. Do you reckon? Or on the back streets of Rozelec. We're going to have a... It's going to have a... We're going to have a break. And on the other side, we're going to chat. Nathan Cleary, when's he's first delian? Oh, welcome back to the run home. We're at the Union Hotel at North Sydney. Just a stone's road from the police station next door. I feel there's some undercover cops staring at me right now. And they're so... Where's it? What's in your bum bag? What do you like to know? Follow you to the brass car. Nightfans, we're giving you the ultimate delivery thanks to Maccars. If you're a night's fan, or a sugar said, this is a pretend to be one, head to the S.E.N. Win page and tell us why you're the biggest night fan.

Night's fan. You could win a return chopper flight. What it is? From Newy and tickets for you and a friend to the game this Sunday, all thanks to Maccars, TZNC's apply. But they're also offering you... You can have a quarter pounder and a few sherbet. And then they give you a lift back wherever you live. So if you're in Wall's end... Back again. Straight off the... Straight off the... Straight off the... What a great idea. That doll's a ton... A ton, you can hear his Matthew Johns. He had a business loan and the banks have said no. You still have options if you own assets. Assets. AssetbasedLending.com.au And I'm filthy on a credit. Now, Matthew... Good to know. Matthew... ...M.M.C. Of course, I've got Michael Carriano, see the full package. Nathan Cleary, when she's first, Daly M. I want to ask you this. Get this in the air. Nathan Cleary, four premierships, two Clives, one Daly M. Andrew Johns, two premierships, one Clive, three Daly M's. Jonathan Thurston, three premierships, one Clive, four Daly M's.

Are they all on par here? As footballers? As loads. As footballers. Can we rank them? Look, that's really open for discussion. Like there always has been, when you talk about Alan Lang, a Ricky Stewart, Peter Sterling before that, we always compare great players. Really, it's take-you-peak. It's whatever you... Each had their own unique style, slightly different. Nathan is the most methodical half-back that I've ever seen. J.T. was a brilliantly reactive, instinctive half-back. Joey could do a little bit of everything. So, you know, really, it's take-you-peak, you know, whoever you want. Michael Carriano's... I love Joey. Like Joey's the best player that I've seen. Why? What made Joey different to Nathan in your opinion? As Mattie alluded to, Nathan, can just get you to points on the field like no one can before

and then lay a platform off the back of that where I feel like Andrew could do something out of nothing all the time. He was such an instinctive player, but if you needed him to get to a sport or expose weakness as he was great at it, they're both very good defensively. That's probably where they've got the edge on Jonathan Thurston when you sit there and look at the complete package. But, for mine, it's just... I love watching Nathan play and I love his demeanor and how humble he's watching that. Yeah. He's, you know, for guys that are at the top echelon of their sport, he's the most humble player that I've ever dealt with. He's just remarkable. There's no ego. There's nothing like that around him. What you see is what you get and just how gracious he's been despite what's happened over the past 72 hours with the injury and his response to Phoenix Cross Learn and things like that. He's just an exceptional person, but I've just got Joe here ahead of him. I've got him above first and though. What about CC? You can't say no. Cooper Cronk. Yeah.

Cronk, again, same methodical. Yeah. Cooper's the most... He is as far as rapid improvement, self-improvement. Cooper is one of the most remarkable things I've seen. When I first saw Cooper firstly play, he was a utility. The first time I saw him play and, you know, do certain drills, I thought, man, this guy's a bit of a Jeff Toothie. That's what I thought. He's bigger than Sears, but he was sort of like a built like he's thick and he's brave and he's tough and he's quick. He's going to really threaten those big guys through the middle, but really wasn't a ball player. It wasn't a great kicker of the ball, but that's just perseverance and work ethic. When you used to work with him because you used to work with the halves, what's the first thing you say to him? Like, did you ever have the heart to say, I don't think this is for you? Fletch, what it was was it was very much when he came and stayed at the place. It was like, Bellamy was right, taking him away and let me know what we've got here as a half-pack.

And out my thing was, you've got a bloke who's really, who's game, who's really fit, he's fast. He'll play a 2v type role for you, but you're going to have to build most of your attack off Cameron Smith and just play you. But bit by bit by bit, he's just improved on it. Just purely through intelligence and work ethic. Perseverance. Now Andrew Webster, he won the Daly M coach of the year Justin Holbrook and Lucky, but we've got to remember it was at the end of round 27. I know Justin Holbrook has gone on. Are we happy with this? Are we happy with Andrew Webster for what happened during the normal round? Well, they didn't get it wrong because based on the criteria, I think he won the award Andrew Webster. But when you sit here and you go, how is Justin Holbrook really not the coach of the year? You can't not give him the award when you sit there and go, Walton Spurner's last year, the injuries that they've had, the fact that they're now at a grand final. But under the current criteria, which they need to change, I think, if they gave it to... It was the Monday after the regular season. No, I would be sitting here. I don't think anyone would be sitting here arguing that it was Andrew Webster.

Correct. So the judges didn't get this one wrong. No. It's the criteria which you need. So we need to change it into... Definitely, has to. It was a little bit... Not embarrassing, but you sit there and we're questioning it. And it's disrespectful to Andrew Webster, but they'll bounce out in straight sets. And he got this new cast aside who no one gave a chance in a grand final. So for mine, it was a no-brainer just the Holbrook's the coach of the year. But if you ever look over the years, it's really interesting through the history of the game. They used to announce the Clive Churchill Medalist will make the decision on the Clive Churchill Medalist 10 minutes before full time. Now what's really interesting in the English game, they used to do the same. In the 1960s, there was a game between... I don't know if it was Leeds, it might have been Featherstone. And what they did, it was the most remarkable piece of footage you will ever see. And this guy does a short... They do a short kick off anyway. Leeds go down, they score under the post. And as the guy who's put it... Put it... Leeds are behind by one point. The guy puts the ball on the mound. The guy is called Don Fox.

As he puts the ball on the mound, he's got a kick it straight in front of Wendley Stadium to Wendby Point. The siren goes. As the siren goes against... It gets announced that the Leeds told Trojfi from the end of the match is Don Fox. He misses the goal. Oh! He misses the goal. And then just collapses. It's one of the most remarkable heart-breaking things you'll see in sport. Did the Fox... Is he okay? Like what happened? He's no longer with us. But did he come back? No, he carried that for the rest of his life. Anyway, that's a feel-good story. Have your say, the text line. If you want to ask a few questions, the boys 045-7736-7736. We are down here at the Union Hotel at North Sydney. It's a cracking part. I just had the Caesar salad. Just one little tip bit to the chef. You've got to have anchovies in your Caesar salad. I'm just saying it's the whole thing. Can I just do one more thing here, far out of the clientele? Look at the VIP section over there. It's an old mate who used to be in Dave Gleason and Stilsen's back in the day.

You're the drummer back in the day with Gleason? Any end. Good mates with Simon the likeable. He fed him. No, birds of a feather. Oh, my dear Lord. Now Matthew, we've got to go to the news. Are you going to stick around? Oh, you've had enough. I've got to shoot. I've got to work to do. I thought so. Can we give Matthew a round of applause? Thank you guys. Is that Will Wall? That is Will Wall. We're going to have a news break and on the other side. I don't forget coming up. The great Luke Rickinson and comedian Steve Phil. But after this we're going to chat. And I real news. He at the Union Hotel in Norseany, there's nothing like the finals at the Union Hotel Fletch. I could just say they've got a great big screen there. There's sports bar. They've got some old fashioned photos you see on the pub. You know, we've been to ease news. We're not to ease news. They've got it looks to me like it's the all blacks. I mean, well, I'm happy with that. All black-spacing one. That looks like Underwood. Pretty sure. I know this. Now it's time for this please, Harvey.

It's the Run Home News headlines. All right. Scientists have just revealed the best sleep schedule you can get. All right. So for all those night owls, you know what the optimum, optimum? That's a word. Yep. Time is 10pm. You've got to be asleep and 5.30am you have to get up. So 7.5 hours. No such thing as 8 hours sleep. 7.5 is the precise amount of hours you need. What time are you going to bed, generally? I go to bed. I put law and order on. Do you really? Yeah. Which one? Yeah. Marisha Hardigay. And then she'll come on. Yeah. I don't like those spin-offs. It was a bit like friends when they had that ranked Joey show. Right. Remember, Happy Days? They decided to, as they say, jump the shark with journey and cha-chi? No. Have you ever not watched? Which one? Journey and cha.

I've never heard of it. Have you heard of Happy Days? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Ladies and gentlemen, Brooks is here. You're good afternoon. How are you? How are you? I'm good. I'm good. You got a bed. I'm out by 10. I got my scratches on the door. Like fat Frank. Yeah. He got cleaned up by a Tarrago once and survived. So I feel like, he's a special Cammy and he lives. He's your left. I think he's got seven. Was a Tarrago? Tarrago's went to. We had Jinx. Jinx got cleaned up too. Like, uh, because they're rag dolls. And I think they're quite curious cats. But Frank, I feel, he's got a lady down the street. Really? That's why I don't like cats, cause they just wander off. Are you a dog man? I'm a dog man. I've got a dog. The border collie. Is that the better? Oh, is he alright? It's why a bone sort of... Don't tell me you haven't caught my nose. No, I wasn't caught. No, but it was... Yeah, so it's fragmented. I don't know how it's happened. So it's fragmented. You've got to give him raw bones. It was. Are you sure?

Yes. But so he's at the vet at the moment. Man, so a bondo there? No, no, we don't. How many shows are from Newcastle, by the way? We've got Bondo there. We've got Bondo Rescue. We've got Bondo Inc. Any shows up there in Newcastle? That's awkward, isn't it? Dr Chris Brown is from Newcastle. Yeah, I know. He's the Bondo over there. Yeah, because he saw the light. I'm just wondering. I mean, everyone's... No, the junior? Everyone's frothing Newcastle. What about Bondo? We... The rooster... It doesn't work when the roosters play the victims' flesh. No one has any sympathy. Not playing a victim, I just think it will be. He will. Is anyone telling you? Brox, have you got one? Yeah, I've got one. Boy, this is a food one. So have a think about this. So an Irish lad, Rory Finlay, has set a Guinness World Record, whole VNETI. How quick do you think he downed it? I didn't know where you were going to go with it. One minute and 15 seconds. A whole VNETI, whole VNETI ice cream. It's only for birth. No, the big row? Yeah, I know what it is. Ice cream cake sort of thing. One minute and 15. What if you were going to the Guinness World Record? Yeah.

And you were going to try and consume something in a quick time. Yeah. What food would you pay? Chico roll. Chico roll. I could hammer a Chico roll. Or hammer a certain amount of Chico rolls in a timeframe. It's just one of those things I just love. You're the Joey Chess, not a chickener. Yeah, but he ate his engulfs it in one go. Like I chew it. I enjoy it. You better Chico roll, Michael. Yeah. Not for a while. Where do you get them from these days? Three steps on Bondo Road. There, and it's Chico Bondo. There. Another one. Another one. Bruxy, I'm just looking at you. Where are we going now? Because you've said you've got many jones, but he's no longer with you. Yeah, so we did a bit of a flip in the rundown. Yeah. So how about you tell me? Well, the text line's been hot. 04577, 06777. Oh, Randy's come up with a good one. What's he saying there? M.C. Embarrassing bodies is filmed in Merry Weather. Not anymore. They got good. Sydney Harbour. Sydney Harbour Water Policies and you show it. That's from Aussie.

That water rat? Yeah, that's just water rat. Well, what? That was the old one. He's in there and say, I said, new something on that. Is that what he's talking about? That was so rank. Paramount. Yeah, that's trying to invest in Australia. That failed miserably. V&N is a tiny compared to what it used to be. That's like a quarter pound now. Now it's an eighth pounder. That's from Aussie. You're right, Aussie. Shrinking. Bear said, the family on travel guides is from Newcastle. It explains a lot. M.G. He actually, you know the dad, he taught Maddy at school. Travel God. Yeah, the dad. Getting back to the Dalaiians. When your man, both of you at a dragon's, when H. Stuart got the gig, got the second round of the year, was there a bit of a, ooh, in the room or, it was a little bit of surprise. Not so much a reflection on a image because he's going to play for Australia. He's an absolute talent of the player. He'll be in the squad this year. World Cup squad. No. You think? Is that male?

Smoke. He wasn't in the 40. The original 40. Maybe he's snuck in now. Do you think so? You never know. Well, you know. You never know. Now, let's go to the call-up, Panthapete at Penrith. Family enough. He wants to talk about Grandfathers. Hey, Pete, how are you? Fletcher, I'm all good. I reckon your comment around the rooster's not being loved and not being known is true. And I reckon one of the highlights the last couple of weeks, how we've had some great footies, the big teams that have been not cited in the last four weeks. And I'm talking the usual suspects, the Brisbane's, the Bulldogs, Melbourne. That's how difficult it is when big clubs don't make finals. And it must be difficult for them not to be playing in September. All right. I like it. Yeah, Ron. But do you describe the roosters as a big club? Yeah, but they're in it. We're talking about them. Yeah, but we know.

And they've been in the news. Last one is, no one's talking about it. It's all about new cars on this fairy tale. That's why I'm standing up for this little guy. Little guy. Well, Fletcher, because you think the police can cover those finishes in Anzac Parade and the life doesn't exist the other side of Anzac Parade. That's part of our goal. Yeah, well, Panthapete, I hear that you love Kujee. I heard you're a big fan of Kujee. I do. I do love Kujee, good beach. Yeah, is that about it? Make it about it. Have a good afternoon boys. Oh, that was a quick exit. Thank you, Panthapete. Now, we ran in and appeared at another OB at Bunnings, which was great. Any more text message you would like to do? One day is awesome. This is for North Coast night. Pay through the nose for parking. I've nowhere to sit on the beach. Get an $18 beer at the pavilion. Then battle traffic all the way home. Yeah, well, come up to the diggers and it's eight bucks. And I've got a couple of shifty spots where you could park your car across a driveway

that the bikes, he's brown bread, so no one knows that one. That camera and NCOH at Sydney just finished filming season four. Oh, cam, it's rank. Someone's going to go to break and on the other side, we're definitely going to chat. Rugby League this time. Finals fever. Tough finals moments. All thanks to Grunt, ratchet straps and tie downs. Nothing's tougher than Grunt. And we saved the best to last. That's got us on the way. Keri, change that guard. Taren, back there's Camel Bryan. He's John Stern. The first try. No, the choice scoring three. Walker, sends it away. Hutchison. Oh, that was a really important tackle, but he slipped out off front again. He's no last one, give me another one. Oh, George. This is them heart. That's good, this again. It's a very careless year. Remember this. The way to Walker. Mitchell, let's go, Mitchell scores.

They're going to leave it on the field and they've gone over. Right, you're basically standing, he's head into the ground. The opportunity to reduce 74 to the half of it. The corner court. Whoa! Bradley's come racing in and it didn't bring it up. That's the other way. I'm passing control. You have a guy at the bend down. You have a guy in the right. You're a best-related all that. I can see it. You're going to go. That's 16-bing to the game, gentlemen. It's a record. Walker, Tass, Dames, scores. South surrender. Wait, Taren, the rooster saved. South's out on the roosters out. We'll see the try again next week. Full time, South City 30 roosters 40. You remember this? Oh, yeah. You remember the sinbin Sunday. So Victor got... Sinbin twice. Yes.

He was. I think he was the referee. Was that actually Klein? Yes. He was saying you're losing control here, Victor. But this was the game. That was just built, wasn't it? This was the first game. Second game. The first five. First five game. And I remember we were watching it at work. And during the week, it was all about... But the fans were coming out and they were giving it to each other. This is when it all started about, oh, this is our home ground. But when you play in these local darbys, you just get caught up in it. Like the atmosphere and the fans were just going. And I reckon a lot of this had to do with the fans. And the hatred the fans have for each other. Yeah, no doubt. And if you had to pick one player for me, the side to be sinbin twice, Victor Radley would have been favorite. Yeah, I'll tell you a million. I'll tell you a million was the other. I'm saying so, Jared or Victor, you would have said for the roosters. And tell you a million. He was a sinbin specialist. That was when they got to Cody.

They got to Cody. It was pretty evident what they were trying to do. And I'm just looking here. He never got bin, did he? No. So he handled himself pretty good. He loved that. How good is that madness sometimes? It's like the... We were just transfixed. Yeah. Yeah. It was exceptional. Not like so. It wasn't a great spec. Well, it's a weird one because you sit there and you remember it and you talk about it. But it was just the moments of madness. Yeah. Which is what... Like you know when you go to like a... You're going out for a beer. Usually it happens in a country town. And you know there's going to be a stink. You are... You're going to get your cabab across the road and you're just going to sit there and wait. That's what it felt like. This was in the old days. But it was like that. We were sitting on the edge of the seats going, what's going to happen now? It was like you carried a field back in the day, or origin. Yes. Or like a now I can see the... I mean, I'm not really into it, but the UFC, you know, it's the violence. Yes. But you know what the good thing about it too was?

And people don't like it in the schedule. They played back-to-back weeks, like the Dragons and Nails did in 2009. Which sort of created good buzz leading into the week, into that first week of finals. And they opened the stadium, Roosters won 26-16, big game. Everyone was open to this new venue, and then they're coming back there again. Yeah. That was the great thing about it. Got 40,000. One of the iconic finals matches of the last five years. Look, Sam, really dig in these finals. I've only got three to go. Yeah, no. I'll be here for... 20-23 later in the show. What do you think we're going? 20-23 grand final. Possibly. Possibly. We're going to take a quick break, and then on the other side, I'd imagine Shawnee or Shawnee coming up. No, Shawnee's a bit later. I've got to read this text out first of all. No one wants this from Josh. No one wants to mention that Newy fans only turned up two weeks ago. Half of them still have got the tags on their jerseys. Meanwhile, the chucks have the highest home crowd average in New South Wales. Head of Newcastle. I rest my case.

Run home live from the Union Hotel in North Sinney. And finals, favour, thanks to Grant Load restraints. Built tough grunt. Nothing's tougher. And this guy is tough as I, a cateau, a big news for Tonga. He looks like he's going to be fit to play for Tonga at the... Well, Cap, he had that ankle injury, which amped him during that loss to the roosters. But looks like he's been given the all-clear flesh to play. Was that the back slam? Did he do that in the one tackle? Or was it later on? You know, in the first... It was early doors. It was early doors. So, you know, when Billy's been... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And they backed the team. Yeah. I thought that was... Why didn't they go to the... Why didn't you have a HIA? He was all over the shop. I don't know. Do you know any about Connor Watson? Not yet. No, no, update yet. Obviously, meeting the independent neurologist. He was at the Grand Final lunch. Yep. Today, so I'm not sure if that happened in the morning, or it's going to happen later this afternoon. I don't think we'll get an answer today, probably tomorrow. Okay. Now, Rugby League doesn't finish at 10 o'clock on Sunday night,

especially not here at SEM, because you get... Also, you can catch the Grand Final, but then the two... 2026 Rugby League World Cup is live right here on your home of Rugby League SEM. And don't forget Knights fans. Or if you're not a Knights fan, just pretend to be one. You're going to win a chance to get a return chopper. Right from Newcastle and tickets for you and a mate to this game on Sunday. All thanks to Maccars, TZNCs, apply. Later on the show, Rooster's Legend. Luke Rickerton, a Knights fan and comedian Steve Filp. Up next, we're going to chat to Ali Ames, Rabado signing, and I'm going to find out about MC. I'm hearing a PB in your league extensions. Ha ha! Where in that Cosby Swatter? Where in that Cosby Swatter? You're all listening to the run home with Joel and Fletch. No, sure. I think he's down in the Melbourne, but I've got the full package, Michael Kerry-Anas. I was looking very dapper in a, is a Brent Wilson suit? Looks very good on you. Thank you, mate.

Thank you. Is it tailored? It is. I often say that. I mean, it's not as good as Van Husson, because Van Husson is what I wear. It's a VH for life. It's a VH for life. We are live from the Union Hotel. So if you are around the area in North Sydney, come on down. We're right next door to the police station. So if you have to go in there and see your patrol officer, come and say good-aid. We've got all sorts down here. It's a great afternoon. What are you thinking, Impsie? I'm thinking your validity. Okay, morning, glory. Tomorrow at 9am on SCN, and from 11am on Foxlee, we did have Maddie earlier on. He seems to think that they can't, finally enough. They can't go with Thomas Kent. He is under the impression that maybe young diesel Hagen is going to make his debut in an NRL Grand Final. Yeah, that would be huge. Huge arms. I'm increasing the young guy. Maddie was saying that he played in the SG book. Final's chief for Fennuukas, when he saw him playing.

He said it was a standout there, but obviously, a huge leap has spent the back half of the season playing in the New South Wales Cup, and starting at Dummy-Half, you mentioned Matt Arthur, Matt Arthur, sort of fallen off the the face fill of the Newcastle Knights. So it's a huge quarry the way what they do. Well, I've just had, I've been looking at a few of his videos. He's a big kid. Physically, I think he could probably handle it. Could you imagine Fletcher? No, I can't. Could you imagine your debut? No, not at 9am. But at any age, even at 24. Or whatever the age you'd be. Imagine your debut is in a Grand Final? How would you handle it? Well, obviously, they're made. They're pretty tough kids up there. And Justin Holbrook wouldn't put him in. Not to say that he's going to go in. They might have grown starting it, starting the game, and he's just back up. I don't know if Graham could play the 80 minutes, but if someone does go down early, you need, as we were discussing before, you need a 9 because you touch the ball more than anyone. But I feel like they showed their hand in round 26,

Phoenix, Crossland, Mr. Game, because he had that minor knee surgery. Harrison Graham started, and Thomas Kent came on and played Dummy-Half. So I think that's the rotation they'll go with. Yeah, but a big great story. This kid. Oh, huge. And then in the makeup of their squad, Fletcher Hunt is there on the extended bench. So if they lose a hooker, I know there's obviously going to be lots of changes. It's not ideal, but you've got Sandin Smith. Yeah. As a backup to the backup, just in case, and then you'd have to rejig the hars. But think about it as well. They're down to their fourth choice hooker, really, because Sandin would have been the backup hooker. If Dylan Brown was on. Yeah. So they lost Phoenix. And then they had Dylan Brown, Phoenix and no Sandin playing Dummy-Half. You're like Harrison Graham. So now you're looking for number four to spend some time with Dummy-Half. Every little obstacle that they have that's been put in front of them, they've nailed it. I know. I thought for sure when they go on over to play the Warriors, they had Tyson Frazelle as a great player.

You know, start his career in the back row, but now he's got a play in the middle. And then Young Cody Hopwood, who is going to be a player, and then they've got Young Crouch. So if they get this done on Sunday, it's going to be unbelievable. I reckon it's better than 97 and 01. If they get this done with all these injuries. In terms of performances, yeah. No doubt. I think it would be the most unlikely, unlikely as grand final win inside I've ever seen in my life. And the only one I can compare it to, I know 97 was of note, oh, 01, 01, when you sit down and reflect on those sides on paper. I know. But I know Paramatta or Red Hot. But I speak, we spoke to Billy Pieden yesterday, and then when he said to me, he goes, I said, are you similar underdogs? And he went, not really. He said, we still had like seven or eight internationals in that side. It's a gun side, that 01 team. Yeah. And I know they played against a Red Hot Paramatta side, but upon reflection, I know you're like, if you look at those two sides on paper, you go, how are new cars were heavy outside as well in the game? Yeah. So this one is completely different.

It was just the year that it was. It was the year that he was hard. It reminds me of, in a way, the dragons of 96. I don't remember that 96 season for St. George. I mean, it was extremely manly in the grand final. But they were rabble to start the season. Roderady walked out on the club. They didn't have a goody sat out the year. That player is trained with other clubs because of Super League. They were shot. Right. They eventually made a grand final and the obstacle proved too hard. And that's when I sit there and you look at these remarkable seasons. I look at that 96 side and I think it's a bit of an underrated. It's because I didn't win the grand final. Right? That 96 season of St. George. But this new castle side would be the most remarkable premise you win. I've seen it. You think about the year before 95 when the dogs are a war with each other. Yes. That were dogs at war. That were dogs in war with each other. And one outside the fall. The last team. Correct. And it was because Jimmy, Jimmy Demick, that is Jason Smith and Chad McCrack and Dean Payne. Dean Payne. They had all signed. I know, I'll contact you. And so there's a story going around that Chris Anderson just got them all together and just said,

look, because they'll blow in a triner. Yeah. Yeah. Took them out as you do in rugby league. You don't do it anymore. You go out for a beer and you settle it all and look what happened. Now it's time for this, please, Brandy. A hobby. It's an NRL News update. Thanks to Roger's Willax. Need a horse float? Roger's Willax builds a range of standard horse floats, including miniature floats. Visit rogerswillax.com.au Go on, let's do this. Nathan Cleary. When's his first rally in mental? He's 14 points clear of sharks, five eight, Braden, Trendle. Cleary's teammate, Dylan Edwards, finished in third. What have been interesting? What have been, if Braden Trendle didn't get injured in the last couple of games, what have been interesting? Four-to-end points is nothing now. No, no. Is it? No. He had a remarkable year, Braden Trendle, and you saw how much the sharks missed him when he was gone. He was their attack. Yeah. He was exceptional. Dylan Edwards again. I think he had a bit of a down year last year. Dylan Edwards, but this year he returned back to that high standard that he said. Himalaya Okawatu was on the leaderboard, Scott Drinkwater.

Yeah. Also on the leaderboard, they all had really, really good seasons, but Nathan Cleary well-deserved the final accolade in a way to tick off a gliding career already. Yeah, he's just not going to get the grandfriending one. Do you think the roosters went, when Nathan went down with that horrific injury? Yep. And then we also had news that Dylan Edwards had done his PCL. Yes. What's the say he was going to play? You would imagine the roosters were just sitting at home just cheering on the Panthers. I don't think they've had some remarkable stories of players to come back, but speaking of Penrith official's last night, it's easy to say now, but I don't think Dylan Edwards plays the grandfinal. No. He said it was in a neat brace last night. I don't think he would have been able to be managed to a grandfinal. And do you think if Nathan would have been able to play? Because he'd had the broken foot, as we know, that's got to get operated on. Would he have been right to play in the grandfinal without that other leg injury? Yeah, I'm just saying, just so he got through with just the broken foot. He would have played. Because if he played last week, unless there's another setback, you'd expect him to get through the grandfinal.

So a bit of mail I got told he wasn't going to play, because they were needling him and they couldn't find the spot. And then they finally found it. And then they went, oh, this is OK. And he ran, but it wore off after about 50 minutes. Hence why he came on with 20 minutes. Yeah, that's tough. Look, that doesn't surprise me, because I thought the time in, you either, those two things around him started on the bench. You weren't going to play him? Exactly. You had to do with timing around painkillers and how much relief he could get. So that makes sense. That does make sense. What's the replacement came on? I went, this is straight. It must be part of the plan, because they were going all right. Yeah. But now this is Nathan on winning his first LEM. In terms of my thank yous, I want to start off by saying how grateful I am for everyone's support over the last few days, given the injury that happened, and just the support from the rugby community has been absolutely amazing. I can't thank everyone enough for the messages they've sent through, and the support I've felt in terms of being able to win the Dallet M award.

I'm super grateful for that as well. And I want to start off by thanking all my teammates. None of this would be possible without them. I want to extend that to the coaching staff and also just the whole staff as well. I also like to thank my parents and my family. They've done everything for me. They've sacrificed so much and put so much time and effort into me growing up. But now even in my older years, this whole year, I've actually been living at home with them because my house is getting fixed. So they've looked after me well this year, and I can't take them enough. And I also want to say a big thank you to my partner as well. It's tough doing the long distance, but she always makes me feel supported and loved. And that's all I could ever ask for. Yeah, she's just amazing. And yeah, thanks so much. What a great ambassador for rugby league this kid is. Not only the best player, but what a... He's the best. He's just so grateful. And you know, this is coming from his heart.

Yeah. What he's saying all this. Yeah, there's everything about him is genuine. Yeah. You know, he has genuine compassion. Showed that for Fendi's Crossland. Yeah. He's the best player of days. He has genuine appreciation for his teammates. He's the accolade that he's received. And you know, he was in a wheelchair, I think he was yesterday doing the video, and still had his pen with Polo, or on. Still had a bigger smile on his face. Despite facing a huge obstacle to come back from this injury. But he's almost the greatest ambassador we've ever had in the game. Never done anything wrong. I mean, we had that one tick-tock dance. And who wasn't... Who wasn't danced to the weekend during COVID times? On the eve of that game on the weekend, last weekend, there was talk... I don't know. You guys had the story or was it the other mob talking about that... It looked like Nathan and Isaiah were going to re-sign. Yeah, that was happening. What's happened there? So Isaiah is all but done. Okay.

I'm not sure if it's two more years or three more years on top of the next year. They're just going back and forth on what the post-carrie transition looks like. So... Joey? With Joey, right? And that includes NRL discussions because there's salary cap ramifications and all these sorts of things. But he'll be there. He's done. He's all but done. Okay. And then over the last couple of weeks, it's the first time they've had an indication from the clearing camp that he's going to stay. Right. So they've grown increasingly confident that it was tracking well before November 1 to get a deal done. So, yo, all but done. Yeah. Right. Cleary tracking in the right direction. So what was all that chat about early in the year, Sanon? We're going to test the open market. Him, Liam Martin. What was... Did that come from them? Was that for the... I'm not sure because they all said it. Yeah. So it was like they'd made this pact to go, okay, no, no. We're all going to see what's out there. We're all going to explore every option. But I don't know. So they've got... Case in the clean done, pile and body done. Isaiah, yo, is about to get done.

They've re-signed all these players. Now it's Nathan, Liam Martin, Moses Leodah. What about Billy Phillips? What's... I like him, too. He looks like a player as well. Who you know is just going to aim up. Lindsey Smith had a year, too. Yeah. He improved and played that 13-roll a little bit with... When Isaiah was injured. So look, I don't know. I've obviously brought him to Olesgorn to PNG. I'm just not sure if they'll be able to keep Moses and Liam. Okay, so the Moses chat about Paramata, is that gone cold? They're going to get Spencer. Spencer's going there. Yeah. Where's Moses going? Not sure yet. He's still got 12 months left on his squad. Yeah. So I don't know where he ends up. Alright, let's have a look at the other winners. We discussed this earlier. Tricky Trinnell, Braden Trinnell, five out of the year. What a game. What a year he had. If any second in the Daly M. Verdi, Hamie Stewart, second rower of the year. When I heard this, I thought, oh, that's been interesting. But then you have a look at how many games he played. How many points he would have accrued.

Not only, I mean, we don't have many wins, but in a losing side, in those close games, he was brilliant. He's a brilliant player. He's on the cusp of Representative Footy already. And he's going to be a little, once he gets in that setup, I feel like he's going to be a long term rep player. Are you bullish? Are you as bullish as I am on the dragons? What do you mean by bullish? What do you have them? I think they can make the eight. I think they can make the eight. But if they don't make the eight, it's a, I feel it's a failure. Depends on how they don't make it. Well, is that an injuries? If that top squad and all those gun players that they've signed? Because these players are not only just first graders. These are exceptional first graders, including, I mean, Keon, Keon's a rep, he's played for yourself. Well, I was already so. Luke Meckoff, if everything goes to plan injury-wise, if they don't make the eight, I feel it's a failure. I think top eight's probably the baron would have fallen out.

If they finish ninth and they compete in the last round, I understand it, but yeah, they should be there. They're about for Final's footy, but the interesting thing is, look at all the sides that didn't make the finals this year. Yeah. And you go, well, where's the improvement? There's lots of improvement in some of them. Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Canivri, Paramata. Yeah, that's Manly. But three always coming out on average. Three go up, three go down. But now I feel like a proud dad, a really proud dad, that our man, Campbell Graham, he won the Ken Steven medal and this is his acceptance speech. And lastly, my good mate, Jyza. Jyza was doing Vinnie's work well before me and he asked me to come along one night with our mate Liam Knight and we had an absolute ball. And just watching you at all the Vinnie's events afterwards, connecting with people and having conversations with anyone that wanted a chat to you and yeah, connecting with them like only you could has inspired me to keep going and doing this Vinnie's work.

And I know if your situation was different or be you up here and not me. So, my only hope is that me continuing to do this work will inspire my younger teammates to follow my footsteps like I did with you. Cheers. Oh, there we go. That was a great speech too. Speaking about great ambassadors, he goes out on his own doing the St. Vinnie's work and he also does for Mission Beat, I think it's another one. So, that was the speech of the night for mine. Everyone in the room just left so impressed by the way he handled himself and the drawing on the inspiration from Jy and using that as a cornerstone to do this. As a cornerstone to help try and inspire and aid the younger teammates in his squad. I thought that was an incredibly beautifully said. You've got to have him around for a while. Up next, more news around the rabbit os and if you're a rooster supporter, you might be having some excellent news around June or July. Not June or July. That's June or July. Welcome back to the Run Home. I've got the great Michael Cariannis in here. I'm going to tell you what, you don't stop. You're on your phone. What are you doing? Anymore one who? Getting stories? Just trying to find out what's out there. That's always something to do. Did you ask your deep throat about anything? What do we got? I don't know yet. I don't have an answer. Okay. Well, I'm going to ask you about this week. If you're a South Sydney fan, Brandon Smith is set to ink a new deal. What do you know about what's going on in the burrow? Yeah, they've been busy over the last past week or so. They obviously put all their contract talks on hold during the season,

except for Tell us Duncan. They've got Tell us Duncan done three-year extension. Now they're trying to shift their focus to a few other players, including Brandon Smith, one year deal done for Brandon. So he's contracted for next year another 12 months on top of that at the rabbit-o. So two more years at South Sydney. And then they're about to put, or not sure if they're about to, or they have put a three-year deal for David for feed around the table. And they're confident he'll take that up before November 1. Cody Walker. Cody Walker will be there. I think he'll be there. It's just the amount. Yeah, so that they went back earlier this week and put an upgraded deal in front of Cody Walker. I think the first offer was around that 350 mark. I think it's probably around now that 450 mark for Cody Walker one year deal. So they're confident they'll get that one done as well. They need him. They need Cody Walker. I don't know what their attack looks like without him. I don't know what their spine combination looks like without him. Well, that's the word we'll be back. Brandon Hookah, who's dry gray at fullback, who's playing fullback for him. Matt Duffty doesn't have a deal for next year. And what are you hearing about with Trill?

Is it just all to do with money? It looks, no. I think it's more to do around fitness. Like the money. Like if he came and said to him, look, I'm happy to stay for 850 or they do it tomorrow. Right? But if he's going to want, which he deserves around that me and plus mark, well, they're just going to wait. Well, hang on, hang on, hang on. If he came back and said, I'll do it for 850. How many having the same dramas that Hudson Young had? Oh, yeah, but I don't know, of course, but I'm just using it as an example in terms of. It's the home side gets a discount as well. Don't forget. So you're in public club gets a little bit of a discount because the theory goes, teams need to pay you more to get you out of your current environment. It's quite murky, this little. But it's been there forever. I know it has. It just probably has had more publicity because like usually it happens when, you know, when the Rooster's tried to sign Sunny Bill for half a season. Yeah. Or the dragons tried to sign Mark Gazznier in 2010. That original deal got rejected. Yeah. By the NRL because of the notion of value.

So it's been around for a long time. It's just the fact that it's happened with P and G and the other club. And the other clubs have started to arc up a little bit. That's why it's been so highly publicized. You spoke about Sunny Bill Williams there. He's a former Rooster player. Yeah. Now the Herbie rumors will not go away. Yes. I know I was being facetious with you one day when we worked together and I said, who told you that? But they are growing louder and the longer that he doesn't reassign. He's come out and said he'll definitely get the open market. I don't, as he said that. I'm not sure if he's formally said that. But that's our expectation that he won't recommit to the dolphins in the next month. And we've said it a couple of months now. Yeah. I've all rode lead to one dive for Herbie. Well, I have also heard that Joey Mahnu may be there after his rugby union. Interesting. I would heard that one. Because he, he, I was obviously in 28 going to the cheese. Yes. He needs a stop gap. Have you heard anything? No.

I'd heard potentially the warriors. Yeah. For Joey. But, um, Well, if Nick wants him, he's going to be there. Yeah. I think that's a good idea. Nick will get him. And I think Joey Mahnu has said that. If I, I'm pretty sure that when he went to rugby, he said, if I came back at it, I'd only be with the roosters. We signed for the Chiefs. No. No, but I'm saying, like, if he came back for the... Just for that short stand. Yeah. Okay. The short stand. If I'm the Chiefs, I desperately want him to play something. Absolutely. Because of just blowing out those cobwebs and we know how long it takes, doesn't matter how good you are, there isn't adjustment period after you come back from rugby. Yeah, Chase, I'd love him to end up at a good club like the roosters or all the warriors. But it's interesting. Imagine the center parent next year of Mahnu and her, not next year. They won't be next year. I'm hearing if Herbie does go to the chucks, it'll be fullback. Well, Teddy Mahnu one more year. One more year, depending on how it works. But I think they will aim at him to be fullback, but he might have to spend these first 12 months at centers. With what we told you about the other side. And then take over from him. Oh, how awful that is.

If you're a roosters boarder. That's why everyone feels... Hi, MC. I'm sorry. Last letting Peter Members all us go. He's our most creative hooker who offers the best service, but he hasn't had much of a go. I don't know, and they'll let him go. Well, they've allowed him to test the market. He's got 12 months left on his contract. He has his eye attached, but they need somewhere to go. I'm not sure there's a nibble out there for Peter at the moment. And yeah, I'm like, I was a little bit surprised, the lack of game time that he got this year. And Brandon, most Brandon, such a great ball runner. I do have concerns over his service out of dummy half. Right. This one from Cam, interestingly on Herbie's Instagram, today he's done an ad for BYD. Okay, so the roosters are sponsored by BYD, and Nick Pilitis is heavily, heavily involved with the BYD brand. I mean, you put all that together and guess what's happening? Yeah, come, the roosters. And now, up next, we have the run home quiz. So I want you to call now. We're only going to take the top. How many? Five, six.

What do you want to take? Six. Call now 1-3-100-011-7. He's going to join the queue. First six calls to have a chance to win $100 voucher to spend at the pleasure chest. Now, we are coming to you live from the Union Hotel at North Sydney. If you're around the area popping, it's starting to really kick off. And I mentioned earlier the Caesar salad was the Mickey and Rolls chips. I don't know what you did with those chips. It must be an Ecuadorian chip. It was fantastic. So if you are around the Union Hotel fresh menus and atmosphere that makes you feel like you're at home, I feel like I'm at home. Except all my hot water is running out because my girls have 35 minutes of cheerleaders.

It's off its head. It's time to the little one the other day. 35 minutes. You were sitting outside timing. 35 minutes. She plays the bloody Taylor Swift. I bought her for Christmas one of those speakers. You could stick on the wall. And she just plays Taylor after. 35 minutes, the hot water was running for. Steady hot and strong. Lucky it was a rain. Because that's Bodgy Renoise. We've got a parking cop. Or a drug dealer who's just warping. Now it's time for this. Well, now it's time for the Run Home Quiz. Come on down. Tripod. Yes, Flash. The Run Home Quiz. Five questions. If you get one wrong, stand the line. The person that answers. The fifth question will be the winner. And the winner gets $100 to spend at pleasure chest. Pleasure chest. Your kind of pleasure. Whenever you need it. And a signant, a booze, thumb boost, power bank, 5K. Your eyes just lit up when you read out pleasure chest. Whenever you need it.

Whenever you need it. It would be to the beautiful place that is known as... It's in George Street. No. Hey, Mark. I'm going to get a drink. I'm going to get a drink. I'm going to get a drink. I'm going to get a drink. I'm going to get a drink. I'm going to get a drink. It's in George Street. No. Hey, Mark. You got to get there. Okay. Take the misses there and just go to town. Don't be cute. All right. We're going to... Harvey, can we go to Rob? Please at Redhead Beach. Away, Bobby. Good night, Ed and Phil. I'm going terrific. Let's get into it, bro. There's only one current night who has played in a grand final. Can tell us who that is. Yeah, that's fine. Yeah, I got it. Correct. Nice. Don't get it. Question number two, which form... Yeah, I got it. Sorry, Bobby. Okay, I've lost. I can't. I've lost. Okay. Which form... I have a rule start. Oh, I got you. All right. Thanks, Bobby. Which form... Which form... I have a rule start.

We'll tee off at the Australia Senior Open into Womba Tomorrow. Yeah. That'll be it. Yeah. Yeah. That'll be it. Yeah, Darrell Broman. No. Darrell Broman. Hang on. Bobby, stay there. Bobby, can I speak the ball? Bobby, where did you get Darrell Broman from? I just got ready to call it. Playing golf. All right. Stay on the line, though, because we're going to go to Gary at Camden. Get a gas. Are you playing? Going good, brother. Going good, mate. Question number two, guys. Which form an NRL star will tee off at the Australia Senior Open into Womba Tomorrow? I mean, I got no idea. It's not Darrell Broman. It's not Darrell Broman. I can't say it. It is a back. And he's very, very good friends with Eddie Jones. Yes.

He's a Jewel. Hmm. Good friends with Eddie. No. No. Okay, stay there, guys. Let's go to Jay at Jim Boomba. Jay, any idea? There's no the rat. There's no rat. It is the rat. Can you believe that? What do you mean, Jewel International? Yes. Now playing at the Australian Senior Open. I think he's off scratch. He was on Survivor. My favourite show was all Survivor. Then he was on that other rank one, then they had to climb the peak. I didn't see that one. What about Rob? The sole Marathon Survivor? Is that... Are you there to say that? Yeah, I think so. Okay. Where is it? I think they... I don't know if I might have said that. Okay. Is it Celebrity Orges? No, yeah, yeah, yeah. Who else is on there? Is Adam Ashley Cooper? Adam Ashley Cooper. That's what I know. I hope Anthony Watts on there with... Probably Farah. Oh, yeah. They're going to get it. Jay. Which player won the Daily M rookie of the Year last night? He's in Sanders. That's right. Nice.

That's number three. Number four. Name the two Knights players who have played for the Sydney Maristas. What's a Knights question, switch? That's fine. What's your name, Stan Smith? Yes. Tick. Who's the other one? Four, three. Stay there, Jay. Stay there. We're going to get a Chris at Ballarat because I've got one. Chris. Tom Young. Tick. All right. Last question. What's the DCE, Lancel Haier, Mick Cronin and Ray Price having common? That's not long, Nick. What? So, I think they're playing in Grand Final that it chucks in the Eagles. You're on the right path. In the sense that Grand Final. They've played in a Grand Final, yes. All right.

We're out now. Let's go to Gab. Gab. I like Gab. Gab. What did DCE, Lancel Haier, Mick Cronin and Ray Price have in common? They won the Grand Final in the third beat in the NRL. No. Technically. Well, they definitely didn't. They did. They did it. They did it. Yeah, they didn't. But there's something very close. Yeah, there's something to do with their first Grand Final and sorry. I would go back to Rob, but ready? Rob. Hey, Rob. Plush Grand Final, first year in last year. Yeah, so there we go. Oh, you built it. You won. You're going to have to defend it. Pleasure, chess. Pleasure, chess. You're kind of pleasure whenever you need it and a sign that thumb boost power bank 5K. Hey, Rob, do you see Timmy Madison rolling around up there at Reddit? No. No, I see he's, I see Madison safety around, but I don't see Timmy.

I've seen him a few times. Yeah. Yeah. What about Clay Cormati? Do they Clay? Big play. Yeah. Okay. Play with my dear man. Good on you, Rob. Thank you very much. And go to the Chucks. I know you're a Chucks supporter living up there. So thank you very much. Okay, we're going to take a quick break and on the other side we're going to have a chat with Shawnee about the odds. And I'm going to ask him is Diesel Hagen a chance of winning the Clive? Yes, welcome back to the Run Home. Leon just walked in, leaping Leon from the Maddy-John show. Does nothing all day and now he's here for free piss. What a slob. The run home is all thanks to Brian's lawyer's expert legal advice you can trust. Any text messages there, MC, that have garnered your attention. Why can't men's do a watch party at Aliance or somewhere in the EQ like the Horton? There are so many roosters fans looking for tickets. Yeah, that's not about shout.

I know they're doing it at McDonald's, don't they? 22,000 sold out in 22. Yeah, already. Look, you're done. Far out. Well, I reckon one of those 22,000 is this man coming up. Sports bet, the easiest place to bet on the races. Shawnee, Omar, are you wearing the red one? Are you wearing the red white and blue or just the red and blue on Sunday? I will not be there at McDonald's, don't you say, on Sunday. It shall be wearing the red white and the blusters. Peach side at a core stadium just going off my head. I'm just going with you. I've completely said it out to the spirit, fairy tale story. I don't care for it. I'm going to say it. I'm all aboard the chooks. Am I talking to my pocket? Yes, I am. That's okay. It's what we're here to do. It's what we're about here at Sports Bet. I'm all aboard the chookie train, but I heard you say the most talked about man on Jolkan's lips. Diesel Hague. This is the sort of pool that Shook has here at Sports Bet. I'm not sure he's even confirmed this to be playing him at. But he's here in Whispers.

Maybe he's going to get some minutes. And he's actually in the quibb church of Metal Market right now. And it's not going to be the only way he can actually afford a tank of diesel flesh. He's $101. Very wins it. You've had an absolute fill up. He couldn't do it, could he? I mean, if you're going to start the game, I'm going to tell you a look at his stats from the show. He was a great this year. At least played four-lein games a first half of the year. He was off the bench, the back half of the year. He was a starting number nine. Can you imagine, I mean, as an ex-player, I'm sure your debut was scary enough. Imagine doing it in a grand final when you've got Nafahoo White, Lindsey Collins just hitting you up at every opportunity they have in the first 20, 25 minutes of the game. If you like, that's a pretty scary thought. Absolutely to be scary. But we were saying this earlier, every obstacle that's been put in front of the Knights. I can't say that. I just left him. I can't say that. I know I can't say in heavy. I can definitely see him in the 19. Definitely seen in the 19. Just in case. I like Reese Robson for the club. What do you have there? Reese Robson is pretty popular as well.

Actually, I think that might be the great Jolkains. One of his tip, $23. I think he fits the club code, which it's the most talked about code here at SportsBetting. Ticks the box for $23. No, we just read old. That's what he does. Okay. No, because he's too old. He's too old. He's too old. He's too old. He's 23 or 28. I think he was a window. All right. We might put a little asterisk next day. But he's 23, but he's very popular. Who I could get around? Victor Radley. He universally loves flesh. If he puts up the numbers he did in the pre-leam last week, he was pretty close to his best-by-thought. Scott Etry, which always helps. He's 26 dollars back. The favorite. And continues to get shorter. He was four dollars 50. We were rock bottom at the market. He was 50 money. He's continuing to come for semi-walkers. He's now four dollars, which you can have in your same game, molten as well, which is my little angle. Big tricks win. Big taking numbers, Sam Walker. I think you're into Clive. You mentioned yesterday, and I just can't recall. You were saying, Marky Mark was in the top five.

He's the, well, at that time, I reckon he was the best back player. He's only second to Kale and Pong and now. So I think people are thinking he's a nice one. He's got the medal around his neck, which is pretty hard to argue. But Marky Mark is 15 dollars for a winger. No winger has ever done it. No winger has sent out for that medal. Pretty hard to do. But if he had to pick one blow, he's got it in him. It's Marky. You can score a couple tries. But even if he doesn't need a hatchery, he doesn't seem to win it, which he would probably normally say to win is. He's got that flip pass. He's got some sort of kick out of nowhere that he's going to keep there as well. So he can just do it all. So I wouldn't, wouldn't not shop me any of that. He's second most popular here in terms of turnover. Now, question without notice, the roosters girls, they now, it's eerily similar to two or four months ago when they were underrated, get to the big dance and then get rolled. It's the same opposition. What say you, my friend? It's almost exactly the same. So they won 30 of their last 31 games.

What was the one that was the one you just mentioned last year? Can you imagine even 30 from 32 and the two games were against the Fame Club in a grand final. That would be, well, that would be sickening. They are favorite. So the double is the shortest way home. Double, $47, pretty similar to the men's game, $2.75, the Broncos. That was an epic game last year. Do we see something similar? We'll wait and see. Player, the match to maker up them. She's always a nice popular, but she's second favorite, six dollars. She's gone for a six-degree final winning, six attempts. She's just an absolute gun. So it should be a cracking way as we lead into the men's game. All right. Now, before you go, because I'm not going to speak to you before Sunday, I need your final score, please. I'm going to go 42 to 10. Oh, wow. You think it's all stations to Thumpville? I think it's Thumpville. Fetch all aboard. Cockadoodle-lew. Let's go. Oh, yeah. This is good.

See, I've got an ally. Shoney, enjoy the big dance and enjoy your whole... I'm going to hold those. You're not going to hold those? I am. Yeah, oh, you've got one job. You've got one job. Yes? Yeah, that. What was that? What do you say? I don't know. I think he said, have to take that. Put it on the calendar. Oh, okay. Yes, yes, yes. Thank you very much, Shoney. Thank you for all your hard work. Thank you very much. Thank you. Sports bet. The easiest place to bet on the races. Imagine what you could be buying instead. For free and confidential support, visit gamblinghelponline.org.au. Okay, I've never started this. We've got finals fever continues. We look back at the 2023 finals. And don't forget, at five o'clock, the silver fox. Look, Rickets and yes, please. Finals fever. Tough finals moments. All thanks to Grunt, ratchet straps and tie downs.

Nothing's tougher than Grunt. To a regular star class, stand on the verge of history. The grand final is off. Pay the best tea. Link the trophy later tonight. It's the back-end that tried in its 20s. He's remained from a standing star. The mystery for working thing that will pass for the title for the final. Get the ball away out to public track. And by the time the man again tried to remember the match, and he had tried to score a double in the grand final. Now, whilst clearing coming, whilst we're straight through Andrew's hand, Andrew and Andrew, the world's most important one. He's broken the record. 19, cry. And we're going to tear it to the top. Derek Dunnies, clearing. Get through. Where's the support back on the inside? Reader with the try. We go.

We're going to the punch for him as you're in. I'm out of a chance to incline the middle line and get the try. That's a strong try. He's more grand final. The paper is up, back-end is in a big way. It goes to clearing. Night, they try. Wow, clearing. I'm out of town. We're going to try. But they can't create it in the divided settle. This is the greatest team in the modern era. A lot of grand final. The way Nathan Cleary was just able to turn it on. Ezra Mann had one hand on the Premiership Trope, the other hand on the fly of church, and then Nathan Cleary just the most dominant period for the inner grand final that I've ever seen. They tried and tried. They got it going. They tried and tried when he had to do all the work. I reckon that's when they thought we were a chancey. That was, I mean, you talk about the 8th of the grand final. This was best. Not the best grand final, you say? The best period of a fly up.

From Nathan Cleary. All done, Reese. Wow, trust. Absolutely Nathan. All right. Now coming up, Nathan, we're losing this legend. Luke Rickinson, so TexRoo, if you want to ask him, absolutely anything. Yeah, welcome back to the run home. Charlton Fletch, no Joe. We've got the great MC. And welcome to you on the SE and Track Stations, joining us for the final hour of the run home. All thanks to Brodyne's lawyers, expert legal advice you could trust. NRL grand final is going to be live from midday in Sydney, 11 a.m. on SE and Q in Queensland. The call team. Look at this team. Jimmy Smith, Chad Townsend, and Justin Horro. That is a good tri-factor. And if you want to throw your Coddy in, this man, ladies and gentlemen, one of the roosters, greats. Luke Rickinson, how are you, Luke? Yeah, good boys. How are you? Yeah, going good, mate. Where are you? We're at the pub. We've had a couple of shandies.

I understand you might have ripped into a couple yourself. How did you get that mail? I just, I know Luke. I've got spies everywhere. Yes, we went to the grand final lunch on today, which was pretty boring of what I had to be quiet on. It was at the ICC. It was, you know, they put it in a box, function room. There was no windows. And, you know, you want to show off the city arm, or if you're going to see some of the things. But we did that, and then I'm out of the establishment. I've got the great feel-clare that I play with in the 90s. The English feel-clare. I'm going to play with the parties, eat, want to have a few beers. So I'm going to trade it for a couple of beers and have a bit of a night. Rick, you mentioned the grand final lunch. Obviously, when you play, they'll be the grand final breakfast. How different was it today compared to the ones that you experienced? They looked, um, the breckys probably spit it early. Isn't it really to get out and do those things and have the,

you're baking at eggs and the, to get around that. But, um, I was good. I think the guys today, they sort of proved my prey, um, in a couple of interviews. But, uh, I reckon, yeah, probably the wrong sort of spot. I reckon they could have done something even better to be quite honest. I reckon it was, uh, it was just, it's just seem to be boring to me today. I've been somewhere. I don't know. Is it because you're getting a bit of old look? Is it, is it, is it, you know what, maybe, maybe Brian? Yeah, I think so. Um, you know, Sydney could have done a bit of job, you know, that's it. Um, that was pretty good. Um, I reckon, um, looking at the both clubs, I reckon the Rochis sort of presented better than the night. Just as my take on it. Yeah. Oh, Lizzie, Jelves, why, why did that present better? What were you, what, what did you notice? I don't know. I just thought that, um, they just sort of looked a bit, sort of, uh, more relaxed, maybe. Um, the night, sort of stormed a little higher to last weekend.

And, um, I don't know. I just looked a bit more relaxed and easy going and, uh, Teddy spoke well and I feel like he's on, he's on. He's on. He's on. He's in for a big game. Hey, now, Rick, I mean, someone who has been, well, when he first signed, a lot of people say, and, ah, well, we don't need him. I'm talking about Daly Cherry Evans. In the, when you were discussing the, the recruitment of Daly Cherry Evans, and I know Rob, I really, really wanted him. Was there any sort of objection from anyone? Or, or, or, or even yourself? Were you questioning it? Oh, look, I think so. Like, I think that the hardest thing is, is like, um, we had all these great sort of halves coming through the grades. And, um, particularly, you go, you go, Savala was the big issue that we had and, um, and let you know, maybe being a local journey, you want to keep these guys in the club. You know, they mean so much more when they can, um, sign and play for, you know, forever, sort of your club. You know, getting DCN was disruptive in that part for me.

Um, but, you know, we sort of done it before. I sort of thought that maybe we lacked that in previous, you know, I kicked the game and a bit more control around the halls. And, you know, the DCE was going to come provide that. I mean, the opposite, the blue prep was stupid. I'll get to use part of that. Um, and, you know, I, I, you know, I think we've done it again. You know, sort of getting him into finish career at the Roosters and Koges to a grand final, um, speaks for itself. So, yeah, he's done a great job. One of the signs that I have that flew under the radar was the New South Wales Hooker Reese Robbson because all the headlines are around DCE because it was such a high profile move. He's probably been arguably one of your best players over the past six weeks, uh, Reese Robbson. What have you liked about his game? Yeah, he's been the best signing of the lights, too, sure. Yeah, he's got another radar. There's no doubt he, um, yeah, we've sort of got him on board. I never forget sort of getting in a preseason lunch and getting him up and speaking in DCE.

It's quite profound. You know, DCE sort of has a bit of a long-winded sort of chat at the house. And, um, and then the rest of the, was just all about business and intelligence. He's here to win a call. He's here to, um, a performance is best and in, and I reckon he's been definitely out best signing over the last few years. Um, so, um, yeah, mate, once again, um, he's, he can get his running game on and, you know, he's, he's delivery is fantastic. So, um, yeah, Reese Robbs is going to be great. Now, Luke, Mark, the long and e do waz, uh, you would have well said, Brian. Thank you very much. You played over 300 games. You played with a lot of wingers. You played against a lot of wingers. Have you ever seen not only a winger, but have you ever seen a player have such, um, a presence on the field and he, like, I feel that if he doesn't play on Sunday, Roussus don't win. That's the impact he's got. Have you seen any like it? I can't believe it. Yeah, it's incredible.

Isn't it? Um, yeah, it's a team that, you know, at outside of your halves, um, you're fallback or you're, you know, you've done your half sort of thing like this. Um, like they can sort of have such an impact on the game. Um, yeah, he's winning against the Roussus is no doubt like he's turned the whole sort of winning game on his head. Um, he's incredible. Oh, he's skill level. He's insane. I didn't, I was talking to someone before about the moment last week where he, he, he, he, he dummied to take the ball on that kick across and then took the ball, which puts off to the fence and he just knows he's based so well. Um, yeah, just like to think that you can give him ball earlier, just let him do his thing. Um, he's an incredible player and he's sold him this for us, but yeah, love to see him going to win. Yeah, and just give him the ball, Fledge. I think that's the key, isn't it? Just give him as much balls as we can get him. How, like you attempted, you would have obviously loved to have him stay, but did he make like, was he always going to go to rugby and like, what was the conversation like?

Because I mean, it's, as I mentioned earlier, he's such an integral part of this team and did you try and keeping? I think it was, um, it was done a bit earlier. I think he sort of came over thinking he would have a crack at leg. I mean, the great story about him coming over was, um, I think checking those guys to the set early doors that he wouldn't like the contact, the contact to the position and. Eric and JW H grabbed him in the, uh, in the wrestling pad, uh, room and, you know, I destroyed him over a free season and he kind of got through that. And then they said, well, I think he's going to, he's going to potentially make it because he's got to do those hard hit ups in those yardage games as a winger and, um, so the skill thing was always there, but it was about doing that hard stuff. But, um, getting off to rugby and I think he's always wanted to chase that dream. Um, and the money was obviously more, more so there as well. Fletcher, I think he, I just don't think we had the biggy cash for him and he had an opportunity to go and do that. But in hindsight, we probably could find some cash for him.

Could we, I think we can get him to stay? Yeah, I think you might need it for her, but that's what I'm thinking. Yeah, maybe he might, he might work out all right. What about the, Rick, are you obviously on the board there? There's going to be a change in the, the coaching setup after this weekend. Obviously, Trent Robbins a remain in the coach, but no Michael checker, no Matt King. Where's that out in terms of who steps up to fill those voids? Yeah, I couldn't tell you. It's quite honest for the eye should know it here, but I think the one thing that Robert likes is, um, someone that challenges him in the coaching area. So, um, I think the check move for him. The big question that to be quite honest with you near the year, we thought Michael checkers probably a bloke that might not understand, um, rugby league in a lot of areas, but it's worked out really well. The fact that, um, Robert gets a whole lot of turn, I look at sport, you know, a contact sport and, you know, different ideas and whatever my base are. Um, yeah, I will look outside the box again and find someone that might challenge him a bit more.

What about this new castle side made if you read the papers or look at the TV, you would only think there's one team playing in this grand final. On Sunday, everyone, I mean, the Johns brothers are crying. There's Rocky. Oh God. We're saying we're talking Brian. It's too much, isn't it? We've had a few checkmashes over the last few days. It's like, Judy's is Rocky. I mean, seriously, um, yeah. But this new castle side, they've got nothing to lose. So if they go into this grand final and they get rolled, everyone go, yeah, of course, roosters were favorite though. But do you feel there's a lot of pressure on the chucks? Oh, look, I just don't think, Robert, Mrs. from here, I think like the experience to go into these games and, um, just play like we played last week, you know, and just sort of control the game sort of thing. I just sort of can't see it being anywhere, anyway, from just being a really controlled game. I think it's all like after a big game for some reason. I can't think about him being in the club church or winner for some reason.

I think he's just a big animal. He's what's the, uh, I get his yardage game on. And as I said, looking at the two teams up there today, I said, look at the roosters versus the castle, which is not too much fly power. So, uh, the only thing it will destroy is, uh, he's just getting the, uh, the staking game. Um, but even if, I think even if the caliponger has a 10 out of 10 game, I think we still win. I think we're just going to control the game and get it done. I think we're, uh, we should be good. Flint, Flint mentioned the fact that it's been all newcast all this weekend. The, the formal players have been up and about and, and those sorts of thing. It as a formal player. Have you spoken to X team mates of yours about that and, and the feelings surrounding the roosters old boys had an interest some days game. Well, it's funny because we're a bit of a funny. Well, we've had a few moments from our 2002 play. So we were sort of in a bit of a couple of jobs on our, um, on our WhatsApp thing.

Um, we're different, but I think the roosters sort of, um, yeah, happy go up and into the quietly, but I will say one thing. I did text Joey with you, Fletch on Monday because it was a pretty emotional game for you cast and I sort of enjoyed that whole experience. And, um, I said my right to say, Joey fantastic. Never never got back to me. So I think he's, um, he's not going to talk. I think I think over, over off. I think we, you know, he's, he's trying the first part, I think. If the roosters do get beat, um, it, it'll soften the blow coming from this new castle side because they've had to face so much. You know what I mean? No, I feel, I feel that you feel happy for him. I would feel happy for him. I feel happy for him rather than a pen with one. Sounds like you can see it in already. I don't have a, uh, there's an interest in this. Where, um, we're on. Where were you watching this game?

I'll go out there. Yeah, we'll get out there and, um, yeah, hopefully get the girls home. Actually, that's another big story. Actually getting, um, getting the girls home. So they literally have gone under for the whole year. They play against his bronco team once again presented today in front of the crowd. I hope they bloody will get it done because last year they got sort of ripped off from the grand final. So, um, that'd be good. And then, um, yeah, sort of cheer the boys home. Um, but one thing I actually do, what's happened. I think the NRL has released more tickets to the Newcastle Knights and have the roosters. So, yeah, I feel like it. What are you saying? Well, I reckon that there's released more tickets to the Newcastle Knights and have the roosters. There's more supporters been getting offered tickets than we have. So we're going to be out. Out cheese. Out, no, no. Yeah, which is not great. Anyway, we'll, uh, we'll go about our business and get it done.

No, I don't know. What about your grandfather experience? Like, you've had a shocker with one. And the other two hamstrings. What? Yeah, correct. Yeah, what happened there in the big games. It was like you were. Someone got a voodoo. No, I mean, I just jammed. Yeah, I sort of. I've spent early, Brian, you know, like I like to take a bit early times. Yeah. And, um, yeah, I pay 2000 was in great to the Americans tonight. And then inside of the play. And the Broncos was pretty easy then. And then, um, it's much enough to get through 2002. Oh, I've got to play to that because I'm a bit horrific. I miss that one. And then. Yeah, I actually feel for. Uh, Scotland. Yeah, Phoenix is sort of getting out there like a wrecking like big for a grand final. Is terrific.

But particularly when you don't do anything that's intentional. I reckon looking at that. I think that's what happened. It was such an amazing. This wasn't sort of forceful and. Um, to get four weeks because the fact that he broke his leg pretty badly. Um, I think it's pretty poor from that perspective. And, um, you know, I reckon. I reckon he should be so I want to say let off but like I reckon it's a better for grand final. Should be should be a different sort of sentence somewhere. He should should take points off or a fine or something. Yeah. Well, I mean, because you went all Steven Seagull. Yeah, I was in a fall when you went. Yeah, correct. So you were always. But what was that? Yeah, yeah. When you started out, obviously you were disappointed. How what was your, what was your. Head space like? What were you feeling? Um, well, I think I'm just horrific because Michael call for. Cut it there and said.

We had a switch. No, this is quite well. It defended him on other cards. Yes, I don't have a leg. But we we we we we we we went in there just saying that wasn't my fault. And then we yes, wait, four weeks. Get out. It was your fault. You just. Yeah. I know. I know. It happens. Um, um, I don't know. I sort of think back in it going. If you have a kind of a clean slate and you have these painstacks or if not, it wasn't intentional. I think come ground final time. I think you should probably have the different. Um, different governance or ruling on it. You know, sitting sorry, I feel for him. I look at it and go, well, is now in the world. He went in that tackle. Wanting to break someone's leg or if not, I like put harm on someone. So, um, unfortunate that put the, put the, put the wishes. Packed back on. It's good. Good. Good. Good that he's out. But, um, I feel for him. Yeah. Um, well, look, you enjoy Sunday. I'm not going to see the, um, thank you. I'm not going to see the kangaroo reunion on Saturday.

That's always. No, I can't make it. Can't make it brown. No, unfortunately. We'll catch up later. Enjoy the establishment and enjoy your team, Maria and milk that you're about to down. You just got the text messages. Oh, thank you. Yeah, yeah. I've got your, you're going to come to your old mate. He got fired there. Oh, Jesus. All right. Well, um, we'll go, we'll get out the church saying let's get him down. God. Enjoy, mate. Thanks for joining us on the run home. No, I don't get him. All right. I'll buy now. See him in. Well, there you go. The great Luke Ricketts and, uh, he's quite confident. Which is very confident. Was he very, was he overconfident? Oh, no, they should be confident. Who do you like? The rest is. Yeah. Yeah. The rest is, should definitely. All right. Yeah. I'm going to see a guy going to get into these wedges. Gosh, look at how fantastic they look. So if you're around the union hotel in North Sydney, come on down. Um, we've got a couple of new castle, frothing fans coming up.

We've got the shadow and filthy after this. Oh, yeah, welcome to the last half an hour. And we're down here at the union hotel. Everyone's going mad. It's just Bruce's support. So any Bruce's supporters here? Any night supporters. And now they're not here. Uh, now with the union hotel, fresh men using an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're at home, but you're not getting yelled at. Now it's time for this. Who's running hot? With over 80 years of manufacturing hot water in Australia, it's got to be reen. All right, let's do it. Look at these stats. R Usas vs. Knights, the chucks have won their last six games against the Knights. Does that matter on the grand final? Probably not at all. The Knights are aiming to become the first team since Western suburbs in 1934 to go from last to first. That's a question. It is remarkable. It is the, if they win the comp, pledge. I'm getting a tattoo. What? I'm getting a tattoo if the Knights win the comp.

Of what? Of Chris, Chris Brown, the vet. Um, R Usas prop Lindsey Collins will make his 150th appearance in the grand final. And Knights, Winger, Dom Young has scored five tries in three games at Accord Stadium this year. She's the more I think about it, the momentum that they've got coming down. You really have just flipped. I feel that Riko Chatt, you saw that. I don't like the early crawl. I don't like the early crawl. Because Riko got too hard. Too hard. I mean, you're trying to rein in a bit. I was trying to rein in the expectation in a little bit. You know, when it's very easy to get up for a game when everyone thinks you know, good. That's a grand final should be easy to get up anyway. No, I'm saying that the roosters are overwhelming favorites. Yeah. And that they should be the Knights of Common Quantum. Russas versus Broncos in the NRLW grand final. Now, this is, as Seanic said, there's one 30 out of 31 games in the last two seasons.

Unbelievable. Russas have won six the last seven against the Broncos. One game they lost. GF. Russas have won 30 the last 31s. I mentioned that. Russas halfback Terranakin has won 21 consecutive games. Russas, do we get the double MC? I think so. I think Russas, Russas. And what about the Dolphins versus Penrod Penters? What do we call him at? The State Championship. I think they call it. Yeah. So I went into a Buster Heinmarsh who plays for Penrod. And I said, have you done any video on the Dolphins? You went, no, I said if you're trained, he says, no, they've been on the piss. But you're a man's that Dolphins have been on the pisses. Yeah. It is a rough game that one. I missed the old New South Wales. Reserve grade grand final. On the grand final day. And then you could just meant something. And then you could sit on the bench for first grade. Chris Guider sat on the bench for all three. Played all three. Played all three. Played all three. Got it all three. One the junior two and lost the top grade. 85. Oh yeah, because you're a senior to tragic.

All right. We're going to have a quick break on the other side. We've got super fans. Newcastle, night super fans. Who else will be talking about in the grand final? There's two teams that are playing. But no, we've just got to talk about Newcastle, nights. Oh, yeah. Yes, we're, or the round home is all thanks to Brian's lawyers. Ex-legal advice. You can trust. We are live from the Union Hotel at North Sydney. There is party pies coming out. Soshy Trolls. It is happening here. Early in the show we spoke to Morning Glory host, Mattie Johns, Rooster's legend, Luke Rickettsson, and the run home quiz, which is always my favourite. And with me is Michael Carriana. Michael, we've had a great day. Yes, it's been good. That's obviously a busy time of year. Was at the grand final one today. And then Dalyam's last night, he's there. And then, I think it wasn't impressed with the lunch today.

Have you given him any sort of... I left a bit early to come here. So as the Rooster's players have been introduced to the stage, I had to bow to get here. Okay, well, it was my mic a bit low there, Brooks. Sorry, because I had to jam that dog's eye. It's now time for this. It's a night's update. Red energy has plans to suit homes right up to big businesses, proud supporters of the Newcastle Knights. I just thought that Red energy customer's text in red, along with your red energy customer number, to 0457736736 for your chance to win a double pass to the game on Sunday, New South Wales Residents only. So you've got to be a red energy customer. And as we know, they're like hens teeth. You can't really get it. Yeah, I'm difficult to get. And now, speaking about hens teeth, he's down in. They're great, Steve Phil.

Phil, be welcome. Mate, that's a sour Sydney joke, isn't it? People with no teeth. And you played for sour. Are we forgetting this, that you're all in on the Sydney City Roosters? What do they call it? Other Easter Saturday's Salary, some brairos. Roosters. So just roosters. And this bloke played for sour, Slidey to gentlemen. Come on. Yes, there we go. Look at that. I was forced to out by the... That happens when you get sacked. Russell Kroga, you're spec... Bit like you were chilling on him. You got sacked. I did have it the one time. Now, Philpie. Yes. Philpie. Is this you around a 97? You're around a 2001. You call me old. Are you getting the same vibe? Yeah, well, it's clear. It's clear. That's happening, mate. You've seen the footage. People are painting their houses, Brian. Have you seen that? I've four mates painted their houses and they're renting. Are you doing...? I've been there a bit stupid. I think... Now, be honest, did you think at the start of the year that... The third, what day is it today? The first of October, we will be sitting in Grand Final week

talking about the night. Well, I said... They said that right. A lot of people have said, no one saw this. Like, no one. I'm going to show you and hold on my phone right now. And have a look at that bet that I put on. It's the 740 last year on the Grand Final night. Now, forgive me for it being a $3 bonus bet, right? That's fine. But who did I have a bet on there, Brian? It says Newcastle Nights. Yep, Jesus. What's all this stuff spilled on there? Yeah, that's it. You borrowed my phone, I'm in to go. Newcastle Nights, it's $61. NRL Grand Final in 2026. There we go. Make some noise, ladies and gentlemen. There we go. We got a text, Dunny. Dunny Losson. Didn't feel we'd play for the warm bats. Now he's a Nights fan. Yeah, well, I did, mate, but I do live in Sydney. I am a someone who grew up, went to school in Newcastle. Right. My mum's there. My mum, right. Just to let you know about how passionate Nights fans can be. I was home about maybe 10 years ago. She said, come in and spare room, right? She said, I've got something framed. I want to show you. And I was like, oh, this is going to be good. It's going to be like me and my sister, photo of the family from years ago.

It's the Pasha Bulca. Oh, when it's, when it's, she's got a fabric. She's framed a picture of the ship. Remember that? We were getting down because it was during Origin Camp and Dunny Bidaris was giving his updates. We had a Pasha Bulca. It's funny, my wife is from Newcastle and talks about that moment. Was that the thing that stopped the town? There's a lot of nostalgia. And I think that's what this week's been. It's been a lot of that. It's, it's, it's tricky for me because I live down here. Yeah. But my mum, my sister and all my mates, they're all frothing up there. They're, um, the town has lost its mind. Yeah. Like, because I want to ask you that. Have they quietened down a little bit? Because we've done anything but it's gotten, like it was in 01. I mean, I believe so. I'm doing a gig there tomorrow at the Crossquees Hotel for free with Mark Hughes. It's for the Mark Hughes Foundation. Yeah. And Kirk Idley. And today, Channel 9 are doing a flyover with the pub. Right. With Blue and Red, like, what is it? Chemtrails coming out the bank there. You'd be buying it that bit of that. I don't know. I'm not into that. That's a deep fake.

I've got a silver chair, like, not one of the guys. Yeah. That was a bit, um, just on that. Yeah. So I'm hearing they almost got them. The Johns boys all over the place through this show, probably. Yeah. They almost had them. And now I'll ask you this right, because I actually found out through this show that they were going to play. That it was pretty much locked in. Who? Silver chair. Yeah. Through, like, hearing through Bruxy, Maddie and you guys. And then I sent it to my notes, Chad. Now, it's interesting how towns work, right? So, like, if you want to know stuff about your footy team, like Sam Sydney, you want to know something? Yeah. Through the wolves, probably. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, roosters, like, uh, peristas, like, probably any Pilates class in this and some of them. Full package. What do we talk about with dragons fans? Like, where are we? George Leakes. Yeah. Or Sizzler. Back in the season. Oh, I see. Sizzler would have had a good way. Or the train station there, Rockdale. Yeah. Bulldogs fans, like, like, like, or more the famous cafe. Phone shops, maybe, or, like, you know, just boys.

Yeah. Um, tigers, maybe the vape shops. Pretty, yes. Yeah. Broncos. Toilet in the toilet bowl. No, no, no. No, it's just, it's new cars. Reese Welsh. No. So, I'll tell you something, right? So, I chucked it into my night's chat group that I found out through this group that, um, Silver Chair might be playing the grand final. And a bloke just died, didn't he? You know what? My wife cuts Ben Gillies hair. So, I'll sort this out. Within two seconds, a text comes through with Ben Gillies phone number on top. From his wife, who's a hairdresser. So, the hairdresser's run new castle. It says, hey, Ben, do you need your hair cut this week? I've been thinking about you, right? Ben Gillies writes back and says, yeah, all right, sweet. Let's go. So, he comes in, right? Um, and before the press release yesterday, which we saw, where they all said they weren't playing in here. Um, she said, they're not playing, they're definitely not playing. And I said, oh, but how do you go about that? Boys, like, if you're, if you get him in, you just go, are you playing the grand final?

Absolutely, just asking him. Or do you sort of go around it like, no, it's what I do every day. Yeah, I'll, like, full package. Will you be in a bit of like, um, you know, how do you like my hair? Yeah, you got a pure magic on. Um, but it's like you got free spins, right? So if you do get rolled on Sunday, you're going to be, no, I'm just saying you're going to be disappointed. But it's, you've gone on this amazing run. Yeah, it's pretty amazing, but it's, uh, it, look, but I don't know, do you get the feeling that we're not done? Like, you know, how we play with 12, we play with 12, man, there is a sense of destiny. That's what I'm a little bit worried about. Yeah, we played with 12, man. Uh, and then I feel like now Phoenix is out. They're all going, well, you know what, we do it for him. Yeah, we do it for him. Um, it's interesting. I'll start next to a drag queen. Excuse me? At the game. Uh, yeah, just randomly, night's drag queen came in after a name. Was she, um, in a night's character? Yeah, she had, but is she an entertainer? Yeah.

Timberlina. Timberlina. Yeah, an amazing performer from other than the Newcastle area. Okay. Not really a Nova Kashmir name for a, for a drag queen is. I know. Yeah. I suggested Madam McDougall. That's good. What about Phoenix Crossdresser? Does that work? Yeah. Yeah, I don't mind that. Yeah. What about Dane Gagel? Yeah. Quite a moment. I think I get taken off here. Yeah, look, where we go. Now, someone's just slipped me something and I have to read this out. I'm sorry, I don't know if the facts has come through there with you. Oh, it's come through. Okay. Anyone in the audience out here can answer this question. Dear Jared. Oh, here we go. This is for UMC. No, dear Jared. Revenge is sweet. And after my husband cheated on me with the office tart, I'm now sleeping with his golf coach. He apologized for the fling but made no effort to put more consideration into our marriage

and still plays 18 holes of golf twice a week and works long hours. I'm left running the home and looking after our three primary school-aged children as well as working part-time. I used to rage at him for selfishness and we'd have no end of arguments but now whenever I'm clearing up after him or eating alone with the children, I feel smug. Smug like Luke Rickinson. Instead of feeling resentful, I'm making sure that I also enjoy life and I'm having the best sex with the club pro. Oh, she. My husband has always been larger than life but I was shocked. His colleague called me out of the blue to announce she'd been having a fling with him. I'm not sure what she was hoping to achieve but needless to say, my husband broke it off with her straightaway. He could get apologized but after the initial drama, everything went back to how it was except on the inside I was broken. I don't think I would normally even notice the golf pro but I was feeling really low when I dropped our eldest off to the driving range and he was so lovely to me and my son. The next couple of weeks would have a nice catch up and he'd make me laugh.

When he asked me if I ever thought about learning something, clicked in me. I needed to start doing things with myself. We started lessons but I'm hopeless so I suggested we meet for a drink instead. We both knew what it meant and we've been sneaking off for midday pub lunches, country drives and sex sessions in his flat ever since. Am I wrong for doing this? I'm not here. I'm going to ask you Michael Kerry. What are you asking? I'm asking. I'm asking. One is the golf pro. What's he doing knowing that he's with his client's wife? That's not nice. How do you handle this? I think they just need to split. Get rid of it. It was a long story. It was a long story. It was a long story. I was having some fun. I got it. Pull the point. Pull the point. This dude is talking to her. Yeah, right.

That's what I'm asking. She decided to say, well, I'm going to talk to her. You're not going to talk, are you? What was the name of the person who sent it? Hashtag Bertie? No. Susan. It is Susan Boyle. Yeah. Don't know. Splitsville. Get rid of it. Yeah. What I would say is for that person, get on Fletcher's shop to try 13 bucks gamble responsibly. What about this young kid if he gets on now? The diesel. You're pushing the diesel. I'm pushing the diesel. I'm pushing the diesel. Pick call for a bloke to make it debut. Do you know Tommy Kahn has played maybe seven or eight games in the hooker role? Coming off the bench. Yeah. That's three. That's more than that. It's three. He did it in the last. I could go back to that round 26 game when he did it. Thomas starts. Thomas starts. And that's growing off the bench. That was the word circling yesterday. Yeah. Well, Tuesday, that might be the way they go. Okay.

Boy, it does a nice thing. Where do you think Adam O'Brien is watching this? Oh. Because, you know, he did say that the people of Newcastle don't know their rugby league. That's exactly when he said that. And I was with Mattie. It was on a Sunday night. I remember that. We were watching it. And then he just went saying, this guy's gone. You can't say that. You can't. Is it about the Newcastle crowd? Yeah. Look, a lot of them, like a lot of rugby league fans potentially don't know rugby league, but you can't tell them. No. I mean, I don't say it to those folks I'm in and are 360. I tell you what. Do I? Like who? Like all of you. Do you know what RICO before? Yeah, Luke. That boat. So I called RICO Monday when it was Newcastle Rooster's Grand Final. And I'm not lying. This is how he answered the phone. I rang him. Three rings. And he says, and he goes, Newcastle. Newcastle. You're on the board, Luke. You're on the board. I think you got caught up with all the emotion. I just got him sacked. That's a matter of.

I love Luke Horde. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He's one of the good guys. Now, everyone's having these pies on saucy rolls. What pastry is that? There's so much butter in this. Yeah. Emcee, you can't beat that. You're watching your way. What do you got dinner on tonight? I don't know what we're doing for dinner tonight. No, okay. Luke, he loves it. Coastal loves it. There's big fear. He loves it. Coastal. No name. Coastal, you're a Derek. All right. It's up to this. Sports up there. On the run home with Joll and Fletch, it's the sports up there. Behind the factories, warehouses and mines that keep Australia moving forward is SCW Eurodrive. Driving Australia since 1982. Okay, Emcee. The test is straight. Yeah. If you've got what's happening over there. The ODI Series, which is captivated all of us. Ozi's win the reign-affected game. Indry concerns for Cam Green and Matt Ranch obviously big summer for Australia. 13 tests in six months. For the Ozi side, I actually can't wait for that test series to start. Yes. So am I.

You sick of 40, Luke, mate? I'm not sick of 40. No. Have you ever covered any cricket? No, I'm not real. I just don't know. 40. Yeah, okay. Now unfortunate, sad news, because I'm a big fan of this gentleman. Chris Y. Fagan, he's departs the lines. So we had another year to go and he's contract. But you're going to retire after three after the three people. Especially when they played the song. The Wolfy. The Wolfy. When they call him into the office to get when he finally just put the song on. Oh, he's wrong. Tell me this, why do they call it a three-peat, not a hat trick? Yeah, that's a good point. Although, you know, it flirts your sharp hat trick. $81. This is a gamble responsive. G.F. Yeah. He's the same price as Fletcher Hunt. He's not even playing. Maybe they're going to be confused. I do. I do look very similar up there. It's Brian's now looking for a sports bet. No, I'm not. I've got the hot mic in Sacramento. So the Sacramento Kings hosts an official media day on Monday. And the big takeaways for at least a few reporters and attendants

were the Ben Simmons and Zach Lavine are both cringe individuals. Well, I don't know what's going on here. You should put their headphones on. You're from this? I'm aware of where Ben Simmons is from. At all. Newy? Yeah, Newcastle. Well, yeah, we got Dr. Chris Brown. As one of the reporters explained that she was working on Simmons' earlier interview, she was heard saying he was cringe. He's a good-looking dude, the first reporter said before the second degree by stating, he's hella fine. I didn't notice. His skin is like so smooth. I was like, damn. No tattoos. The attendants later turned to Simmons to Lavine when a male reporter asked, what about Zach Lavine? To which one of the females responded saying, he was hella fine. I think he's personality and noise. There's shit out of me, she said. It was execute, but his personality, everything, annoys me. It just seems like he's a hella, but she's a log-sign, hella-va. Full package. Do you reckon this is like they've got fletch,

but there's basically American fletches done this interview. Do you ever do that? Have you ever talked about the footy players and their looks? No. Have you ever been caught on a hot mic? No, I haven't. I haven't. It is, when I first started, it was really no such thing as hot mics, but now the websites take live streams of big press conferences, and they'll start the stream before the press conference even starts. So that's what we're all standing around, gibbering, just like talking whatever, so you've got to be careful now. When you're in those press conferences, who is the most prickly coach out of it? I know they're all giving up. Des was the worst. Des was the worst. Just rude. Undessirally rude. Like what? Insults, golly. Yeah, he just thought he was funny. I'm glad he's not in the game anymore. Really? Yeah. It's a poisoning, because I like this. Maybe because I seem in a different lens. Yeah, no, I just, it just, and it had it worked for a decade, so I don't know why he kept it going. So you think it was, it was all a charade? I don't know, but it was his personality, but he hadn't had success in a while.

Yeah. So I don't know why I just kept trying to turn up with the same sort of style. What about these two coaches, Justin Holbrook and Trent Robinson? Justin Holbrook is genuinely one of the most pleasant individuals. Really? Yeah, okay. And Robbo, I can listen to Robbo's on. Yeah. I can listen to him talk 40 for hours. Really? But he does have moments of, when he's not in the mood, he can tell pretty quickly. Who, Robbo? Yeah. Do, do, does he ever sort of, because he's very hard to get a read on iPhone. He doesn't really say, well, you could know, when he, when he, when he's invested in talking into a topic, Yeah. There's none better, but you don't get that all the time. All right. Where Justin Holbrook's demeanor doesn't really change. Okay. Yeah, I was just wondering, he's done wonders from. Well, he's on a serious note, really quickly. The Scotty Jiro Cup in some ways, like a really lovely way. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's just season. Absolutely. Obviously we lost the great man this year, played for the nights, has a real connection with, and played for the Chilks and Robbo and him as well.

Yeah. And so, that's good. Yeah. It's, it's actually really lovely. That's good. The great man. The sports update, those things to, uh, S-E-W Eurodrive, driving Australia industry since 1982. Ladies and gentlemen, we've got another guest here. It's our man, Josie, aka the shadow. Another new castle night supporter. It's been with us for what, how long? A couple of months. Six weeks now. Are we going to have this bet? Yes, let's do it. What do you want to do? Or we could have heard you talk smack, right? Yeah. You know, it's all kind of, kind of crashing down. You know, Worcester's 18 plus. He said that to me, MC yesterday. Yeah. So, I mean, you can keep down, like, it's 97. Yeah. No one thought we'd be mainly. It was half a comp, yes.

Oh, all right. Oh! Oh, one. All right. No one thought we'd be fatso when he choked, of course. True. And you had it in a mortal. Yeah, he was choking on mip slisers ever since. And this Sunday, it's going to be the same. We're the grand final giant killers. All right. Okay. It's destiny. Let's have a bet. Why don't we get a do well this it's usual but it's longs No, that's a worst bet flat chart and we're not on the same coin. So let's do something.
